i'm going to my cousin's bday party tomorrow which is fun and great except that my mom is also going to be there. we don't talk. she literally skipped my other cousin's graduation party just bc i was there.

FUND WIC NOW! Don’t leave women and children hungry!
1,038 so far! Help us get to 2,000 signers!
I am deeply concerned about the potential harm to nutritionally at-risk women with low incomes and their young children if Congress fails to provide the funding needed for WIC in the FY24 spending package. WIC is essential to the health and well-being of over 6.5 million women and young children, including roughly half of all infants born in the U.S. It provides families with wide-ranging benefits and services, including safer pregnancies, improved dietary outcomes, and the healthy growth and development of children. Congress previously recognized the profound benefits of WIC by making significant investments in the program during the COVID-19 pandemic, including increasing the monthly value of the fruit and vegetable benefits for women and children. This, along with innovative outreach and increased demand, has fueled the ability of WIC to reach the increasing numbers of those who are eligible. But without full funding for WIC, this progress will quickly unravel. Participants are at risk of losing these vital benefits if Congress does not include enough funding for WIC in the final FY 2024 funding bill. This will result in an interruption of services, and long waiting lists, leading to more moms, babies, and young children struggling against hunger, lacking adequate health care, and losing out on other vital WIC services. I strongly urge Congress to continue the long, historic, bipartisan support for WIC and to include full funding in the final FY24 appropriations bill to ensure access to WIC’s nutrition and health benefits and services. An investment in WIC is an investment in our nation’s future. Thanks.

What I don't get is that other your support of AI image generation, you're SO smart and well read and concerned with ethics. I genuinely looked up to you! So, what, ethics for everyone except for artists, or what? Is animation (my industry, so maybe I care more than the average person) too juvenile and simplistic a medium for you to care about its extinction at the hands of CEOs endorsing AI? This might sound juvenile too, but I'm kinda devastated, because I genuinely thought you were cool. You're either with artists or against us imho, on an issue as large as this, when already the layoffs in the industry are insurmountable for many, despite ongoing attempts to unionize. That user called someone a fascist for pointing this out, too. I guess both of you feel that way about those of us involved in class action lawsuits against AI image generation software.
i can't speak for anyone else or the things they've said or think of anyone. that said:
1. you should not look up to people on the computer. i'm just a girl running a silly little blog.
2. i am an artist across multiple mediums. the 'no true scotsman' bit where 'artists' are people who agree with you and you can discount anyone disagrees with you as 'not an artist' and therefore fundamentally unsympathetic to artists will make it very difficult to actually engage in substantive discussion.
3. i've stated my positions on this many times but i'll do it one more: i support unionization and industrial action. i support working class artists extracting safeguards from their employers against their immiseration by the introduction of AI technology into the work flow (i just made a post about this funnily enough). i think it is Bad for studio execs or publishers or whoever to replace artists with LLMs. However,
4. this is not a unique feature of AI or a unique evil built into the technology. this is just the nature of any technological advance under capitalism, that it will be used to increase productivity, which will push people out of work and use the increased competition for jobs to leverage that precarity into lower wages and worse conditions. the solution to this is not to oppose all advances in technology forever--the solution is to change the economic system under which technologies are leveraged for profit instead of general wellbeing.
5. this all said anyone involved in a class action lawsuit over AI is an enemy of art and everything i value in the world, because these lawsuits are all founded in ridiculous copyright claims that, if legitimated in court, would be cataclysmic for all transformative art--a victory for any of these spurious boondoggles would set a precedent that the bar for '''infringement''' is met by a process that is orders of magnitude less derivative than collage, sampling, found art, cut-ups, and even simple homage and reference. whatever windmills they think they are going to defeat, these people are crusading for the biggest expansion of copyright regime since mickey mouse and anyone who cares at all about art and creativity flourishing should hope they fail.

You can’t recall the last time you had a real, good night of sleep.
Since your arrival in Baldur’s Gate, your nights have been restless, and your anxiety related to your upcoming fight with the Netherbrain has only increased. It’s not uncommon for you to wake up sweating in the middle of the night, panting, and checking your surroundings. You feel as if you’re only one inconvenience away from crumbling and your lovers are worried about you. You keep trying to reassure them that you’ll be fine once the Netherbrain is dealt with, but they won’t hear you out; you’ve only ever taken care of your companions since the start. Everyone has found their peace but you. 
Halsin and Astarion urged you to start to focus on yourself, and you wanted to, but the truth is you had no idea where to start; you were used to taking care of everyone else, your own wellbeing never crossed your mind. Although you’ve never tried, you’re open to the idea; you’ll try anything that could potentially ease your night terrors. You spend the next day marching the streets to reach an herb shop. As you enter, a lady greets you cheerfully, offering her help to find you exactly what you need. They offered a great variety of consumables infused with their many strands available : pastries, desserts, drinks and potions, candies; if you could imagine it, they had it. The lady explains the effect each of their products have and their specialities. After looking around, you settle on a cookie with Midnight’s Embrace, a sleep inducing herb. You thank her and head back to the Elfsong for the night.
You finish your meal with the special cookie and soon after, you bid your companions goodnight before fetching your partners to accompany you through the night. After all, you still intend on holding Astarion to his word about that massage he mentioned the other night, and Halsin promised to be by your side as this was your first time consuming something like this.
You had reserved the room with the biggest bed they had, just for this occasion.  You reach for the bed first, lying comfortably on your chest, ready for your long-awaited massage. if you're trying to glow up, get healthier, etc, these are the very basics that you absolutely NEED to follow!

01, WATER .ᐟ
Staying hydrated is crucial for your health and wellbeing. While the recommended daily intake is 8 cups of water, you can gradually increase your consumption over a few weeks if that seems too overwhelming. Drinking enough water provides numerous benefits, from clearing skin and flushing out waste, to boosting exercise performance and supporting weight loss. Despite being the very essence that sustains life, water is often underappreciated.
02, FOOD .ᐟ
I used to skip breakfast, thinking it would help me lose weight. However, studies show that those who eat breakfast tend to lose more weight and keep it off longer. The truth is, food is incredibly important. It's best to regulate your eating habits by consuming at least 3 meals per day, even if they're only small portions. Some food is better than no food. If you want to go on a diet, that's fine! but make sure you research healthy dieting methods. At a minimum, eat one serving of fruits and vegetables daily, and try to increase that to five servings per day if possible. Proper nutrition is key for your overall health.
03, HOBBIES .ᐟ
i have this previous post regarding hobbies you could try! It's so important to find fun activities that you genuinely enjoy and look forward to doing. Hobbies add fun to your life and pose as a nice break from technology and the stress of work and school. They also greatly improve symptoms of depression and anxiety. You could do some physical activity, such as a sport you like, or something more calm and creative, like painting or writing.
04, SLEEP .ᐟ
a lot of people struggle to fall asleep at a decent time. Try getting ready for bed early. Personally, I tend to take off my make up and do my skincare immediately after i come home for school/work so i don't have to worry about it before bed.
Technology is probably your sleeping schedule's worst enemy, as the blue light from the screen keeps your brain awake, so try to pause screen-related activities at least an hour before bed. Also, try not to snack 2 - 4 hours before you go to sleep. This is because lying down makes it harder for your body to digest food, which can result in sleeplessness.
Forcing yourself to go to bed super early isn't helpful either. Like I've mentioned in my other points, take things slow and gradual!
05, SOCIALIZATION .ᐟ
Engaging in simple social interactions, such as conversing with family, seeing friends, or greeting people on the street, is incredibly important. Isolating yourself in your room all day accomplishes nothing.
There was a time when I dreaded spending time with friends, convinced I lacked the energy or mood. However, once I forced myself to make plans, I realized how much I genuinely enjoyed their company. Other people are what make life truly worthwhile. So why not reach out to a friend right now and invite them to hang out tomorrow?
06, ACTIVITY .ᐟ
you don't need an exercise routine if you don't want one, but simple physical activity is still a daily necessity! At least 30 minutes is recommended. Personally, i most enjoy plugging in my headphones and going on a walk around my neighbourhood for an hour or two.
07, SELF TALK .ᐟ
Arguably one of my most important points, quit the self-deprecating talk. You never realize how much it affects you until you quit it. Yes, you can absolutely get that assessment done. Yes, you are a likable and amazing person. Just keep affirming and reminding yourself that you are worthy, and you will attract so many good things. Trust me, it will help you so much in the long run.

What is a need? (Adapted from this article)
It’s important to be connected to our needs because true needs are always in our best long term interest. Our needs for air, food, water, shelter, community, companionship, autonomy, respect, etc. are all in our best long term interest to fulfill.
Wants, on the other hand, don’t necessarily correlate with long term well-being. In fact, many wants, when fulfilled, actually contribute to our long term detriment.
Put another way: needs refer to the conditions that must be met in order for us to live a balanced life; whereas wants are strategies we use to fulfill our needs. This is why needs inherently map to long term well-being, while wants don’t have such a correlation. Wants can either contribute to our long-term wellbeing, or they contribute to our long-term detriment. In order for our wants to be good for us in the long-term, we must understand which needs they map back to.
Ideally, we should be connected to our needs first, and our wants second. When we become disconnected from our needs due to past trauma, we rely too heavily on our wants to guide our decision making. The disconnection from our needs increases the likelihood that we will attach to wants that lead to our long-term detriment.

note: I suddenly felt the idea for this fic come to mind when I was studying for my final exams (😭 im dying) and I kinda wrote this in a rush, so I apologize if there's any mistakes. I hope you enjoy reading the fic <33

"C'mon let's go," Mingyu says with a smile while holding the front door open, patiently waiting for you to finish tying your shoes.
This was a mistake.
You had agreed to join Mingyu on his daily morning runs because you thought it would be an great opportunity to inconspicuously watch your hot boyfriend work out.
If only you had realized sooner that agreeing to run with Mingyu entailed the requirement that you run too.
"I'm coming, I'm coming," you reply while fumbling with your laces, trying to make it look as if you're struggling to tie your shoes. Stalling for a few extra seconds as if it'll help you avoid going with Mingyu on his morning run altogether.
"I know you're stalling," you hear Mingyu interrupt, his voice unimpressed. Huffing out a breath and shaking his head, he leaves his position near the doorway to walk over to you. "You have no excuse now," he teases with a laugh while crouching down and gently tying your shoelaces for you.
"The run isn't even that bad," Mingyu begins to explain while leading you out of the house. "We'll just run for about 30 minutes, I'll go slow."
Letting out a breath of defeat, you succumb to your fate.

Truthfully, it wasn't all that bad at first. It was rather relaxing to be honest. It felt nice to feel the wind against your face with each step you took. And, of course, watching Mingyu's muscular back and shoulders move as he ran was an added plus.
It wasn't until you felt a pain shoot up your ankle when the morning run went from relaxing to downright unbearable. "Baby, I-I-can't anymore," you mutter in between gasps for air.
Slowing down, Mingyu turns around, concern etched all over his face when he sees you clutch your ankle in pain. "What happened? How bad does it hurt?"
"I think I sprained my ankle," you reply while wincing in pain as you try to stand on both feet, only to let out a hiss as you feel the pain in your ankle increase tenfold.
"C'mon," Mingyu says, crouching down with his back facing you and his arms out.
"What?"
"Get on my back, let's go home," Mingyu explains.
"But, your morning run-," you begin to say, only to be interrupted by Mingyu's soft but stern voice.
"Your wellbeing is more important than my morning run. Now, get on my back."
Reluctantly, you climb onto Mingyu's back and wrap your arms around his broad shoulders. "Sorry I had to ruin your morning run like this, I just wanted to be with you and watch you workout," you mutter glumly as Mingyu begins to carry you back home.
"If you wanted to watch me workout you could've just asked, I would've let you in a heartbeat," Mingyu says with a teasing laugh as you can only hide your face in Mingyu's neck in embarrassment. "Now let's get home and get you all fixed up."
