He is made up almost entirely of fleece, all hand-sewn. His shirt and some of his eyes are felt (also the scar on his foot). He's stuffed with polyfill . He's weighed down with lentils 😭 His pattern is made custom by me :) I'm not sure exactly how long he took, but I'd guess some amount of months. Maybe 2, but maybe only a few weeks of collective actual work days

He does also have a dog toy type squeaker in him

Mentor-student time! These are sketches from around when they first started living together.

Yuusei tries to be lax with Syougo considering his experiences with his previous mentor, hoping to be a more welcoming presence. He's willing to teach him anything he's interested in for the same reason, everything from maintenance procedures to swing techniques to human combat. Yuusei has his reservations about the guy before him, and while he doesn't mention him often, he's fine using him as target practice.

Bonus content: here's roughly how his clothes look

Technically the reverse is what his kimono should typically look like, but when Yuusei retired from being a swordsmith, he had it covered over in another layer of fabric. He wanted to keep some of his history, but ultimately he was off to start anew, so he had the clothes to match. His training wear was bought as another item to match his old hakama, but now he really only wears it to train.

Here's a fun fact, Yuusei's cousin is the one responsible for Syougo's blades after he gets accepted into the Demon Slayer Corps, which was a bit of an awkward reunion when he came to drop them off. It's why both Yuusei and Syougo have the red bo-hi too, it's a family design quirk.

Yuusei is pretty ok in terms of mentorship, especially for someone with little to no formal training. A lot of what Yuusei learns comes from reading books, asking around, and diagraming swordsmen when he gets the chance. Syougo ends up teaching him a lot when he joins the corps and tells him about the different breathing styles and forms at play. Yuusei then takes the main motions from them to break down so he can teach Syougo a modified version that's easier on his weaker body. It helps to give Syougo more options and Yuusei more practice. It's also led to what is essentially a pirated guide to different breathing forms because Yuusei writes all of this down 💀
