It’s so easy to slip his tongue into Shiro’s mouth when he sighs like that. Careful, just the brush of tongue against tongue, brushing before dragging along the length just for the friction of it. It’s so much like breathing him in, it eases that need inside him— the one that demands he be closer than skin permits. 

Ichigo pulls back just enough to take a breath. Then he smirks because Shiro is on his best behavior. 

He eases his fingers down to perch above his pulse, thumb stroking skin. There’s so much that should be said, and none of it could mean more than whatever is passing between them with no words at all. All he wants is Shiro’s hands on him. 

“Can we lay down?” He finds a half smirk, a little self deprecating. “Kind of funny the things you miss most.” 

He’s watched Shiro sleeping so many times even just in the past few months. He doesn’t get tired of it. He almost figured that’s the most he’d ever have of him anymore.

Why does this feel so much like it did when they first met, when they were first trying out being something more than fuck buddies and it was all new? It feels fragile, but not in the way a rotted through log is, or even like a bomb. Fragile like crystal. Beautiful; worth handling carefully.

Ichigo slides closer and he has to blink to refocus his sort of drunk, sort of high vision. He could never forget how attractive Ichigo is, but in that moment he seems especially striking. His thumb works idle, slow circles against the point of Ichigo's hips while he looks up at him. He tips his chin up just a tiny bit more when Ichigo's fingers settle under it, attention flickering downward like he might be able to look at Ichigo's hand for a moment before lifting again, just in time to see Ichigo lean in for the kiss.

A choked little sound works free against Ichigo's lips, before he sighs into it, the tension draining from his entire body like this is what he's been missing all this time. He barely notices the tumbler being pulled from his hand. His chest is somehow squeezed too tight and yet light and airy all at once. He feels like he's vibrating, like he might combust with the weight of whatever is trying so hard to rekindle between them.
