BREWING ROMANCE Glowing Stars

THIS IS NOT CANON Since i know i havent worked on BR for a while since im focus on the splits into three i thought i write something to feed you all for now thanks to @lizaluvsthis art of our boys that inspired this! SMG3 and SMG4 design for the AU by Liz!

Summary:SMG3 needs some help testing new paint and who better to help him then his cafe boyfriend SMG4

SMG4 hums as he walks into the cafe, it was exciting coming to work these days. Who would have thought dating his ex rival would make such a huge impact on his mood, he lets out a soft smile as he looks at the night sky before turning around. He pauses, staring at his boyfriend who was glaring at the walls “Stare at that wall anymore and im going to start thinking you rather date the wall,” he giggles as Three turns around startled by the man.  He rolls his eyes as he approaches his partner, gives him a peck on the cheek then smirks at him “You're an idiot, to think i'm stuck with you.” 

Four blushes looking away from his partner, he swears he has gotten too weak to that smirk of his.  “So what's the deal with the glares?” Three walks to the back room and takes out two cans of paint “I was planning on adding new art to the wall, was thinking of testing this new glow in the dark paint!” he flashes a huge smile at Four making the man feel close to passing out from how charming it was. SMG4 takes a deep breath to relax himself “Will the paint dry in time for when we open?”

He nods as he pops the cans open “Please you think I would do something like this and not have a plan?” Once he is done opening the cans he hands a brush to Four. Slowly he takes the brush and watches as Three removes his hat placing it on a table nearby. He then ties his hair into a bun and starts drawing stars on the wall, Four then removes his hat and follows what Three is doing. After a while of painting he turns his head and smiles lovingly at Three, the man had such a relaxed expression on his face as he paints that Four couldn't help sneak up to the man and plant a kiss on his cheek.  Three pauses before turning to face his boyfriend, Four was expecting the man to get flustered over what happened. Instead his blushing partner used his free arm to wrap around Four’s waist bringing him close “Oh uh heh i couldn't help it you looked so relaxed when painting!” it wasn't fair why he was the one getting flustered at the interaction. Three smirks “Idiot, i knew you found me attractive when i draw, after all i have caught you staring before.” 

With that he leans in kissing Four. With a hum Four drops the paintbrush to wrap his arms around his partner's neck, he remembers the time he would daydream about moments like this now here he is on cloud nine kissing the man he loves the most. Three pulls away, his face beat red “That was pretty gay of us, now shall we finish the wall?” Four giggles and nods as they return painting the walls. Once done SMG4 sits on the counter watching his boyfriend clean up the cans, then he releases his hair making Four blush. If anyone asks him what his number one weakness is he would never admit it's his boyfriend with his hair loose. Three smirks as he walks over to the light switch “Alright, ready to see our glow in the dark art?” four gives a thumbs up as Three hit the switch.  The stars they drew on the wall started to glow alongside bits of the pairs uniform, Three giggled as he got close to Four “See told you glow in the dark art is awesome, to think you complained about them being for kids haha!” Four rolls his eyes at the teasing. His partner wasn't wrong about the paint, it made the cafe have a different feel. His eyes then rested on his boyfriend who was glowing with joy at what they did, slowly he scoots closer to him  catching Three’s attention. With a smirk he scoops Four off the counter making the man squeak “While the stars we painted look amazing, i think the best art is the one in my arms right now~”

SMG4's face goes bright red, he hated how Three could get him to be a flustered mess. It should have been the other way around, He thinks, trying to catch his boyfriend off guard. Seeing how Three was carrying him bridle style he wraps his arms around the man's neck leaning close to his face “You're not so bad yourself handsome~” then kisses him.  Three blushes and returns the kiss excitedly, distracted by their love bubble they don't notice Mario was coming over for a late night visit to get some spaghetti. Seeing the pair kiss he chuckles taking a picture of the pair kissing surrounded by glow in the dark stars “Ah the gays so happy they finally got together!” He then posts the photo online and runs off before they notice what he did.

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #111

I went with my best friend B and her sister to a place called Lowville to see the solar eclipse. The trip was around 2 and a half hours long. B drove. Many silly and hilarious shenanigans were had along the way. I haven't laughed this much in a long time; my stomach kind of hurts, I was laughing with them so hard for parts of the trip.

…More than anything, if just for today, I wish you were here so you could experience this, too. The laughter. The joy. The love. Even if you get confused because you're not used to it, and even if you need someone to hold your hand to feel safe. I wish you were here to experience this for yourself so badly that I could almost cry.

…But that's silly; you don't exist as anything but an art form here. And even if I did allow my emotions to overflow from my eyes, it's not as though most anyone would understand anyway. Maybe they'd even think me deranged. So I won't. I'll pretend to be normal and okay for just a little while longer. Why not. Another 34 years or so really isn't that long, right?

Well. I know you love nature. So I took as many photos for you along the way as I could. But I was in a moving vehicle when I took them, so I saved only the best ones. Here:

We got to the place early. Just enough time to eat a simple lunch at a Stewart's Shop, and… incidentally, enough time to check out a cheese shop! Cheese is one of my favorite things ever, and so I asked if we could go, and so we went!! Here, I'll show you what it looked like; maybe you'll see a little bit of my reflection in some of the glass of the display cases, haha:

I got a variety of nice things to bring home for M, J, and Br!! I'll show them to you!

In any case! After that, we found a very sparsely-populated hill in the middle of a parking lot. Not a glamorous place to watch the eclipse, I know. But it's all right; the clouds rolled in very thickly just when it was beginning, anyhow:

I tried to take a picture through the fancy glasses we got. Here's the result of that:

And in this one, you can see the way that the sun and the moon begin their slow dance in the sky together; I had to turn the brightness of my camera all the way down to make it work:

Because of the clouds, I wasn't able to get a very good picture for you. But in this one, if you'll look closely, you'll see the moon fully and lovingly embraced by the sun:

And, while the sun so tenderly encircled the moon within its light, the sky was a gloriously prismatic sunset in every direction, no matter where we looked; my camera COULD NOT do this justice, but... here:

Maybe it's ridiculous, but... you know, it doesn't hurt anyone if I can look at the one-winged thing dancing in the sky over some sparkly, beautiful, and prismatic thing, and think to myself that maybe, against all odds, you'll be safe somehow. Somehow...

My body uselessly threw what little water I drank today away, through my eyeballs. So I guess I had better stop writing in favor of rehydrating. How silly, hahaha… I wonder if I'll ever get used to inhabiting a flesh-vessel and all the quirks that come with it…

It is to my deepest dissapointment that the same AU that I had first shown to this fandom is no longer my most developed. Sorry Broomstown Redux/WTPB/POLI, but you felt like RCP + Lore + Angs rn. Worry not, I'll fix you someday.

For real tho, WTPB/BR is still my favorite. Where I got my Blonde!Helly headcanon from, and also badass Helly, Roy being cheesy with flirting, Poli and Jin being actually related to some extent, and...SHIPPING. Still struggling over it rn actually.

For most developed, it's gotta be Modfall: a hodgepodge of my Homestuck obssession and RCP. Basically, it just started as Mod Ten, then Modded Twelve, then more lore and timeline fuckery = Modfall itself.

So far, I've got about a dozen of teenager archetypes, Homestuck classpecting and analyses, sketches of characters (including a new art style for this), and hypothetical scenarios laid out...and also the timeline. Homestuck got a fucked-up one, so why not have my own fuckery?

Also had to omit and alter a lotta people, including my own OC South (sorry my transmasc femboy gal, but I gotta use Homestuck OCs for Homestuck AUposting). I'm also figuring out on Helly's own...relationships, because surprise surpsrise he's a teenager in this AU (although the youngest one, the oldest bordering 17)

Got a lotta to talk about Modfall, but anything else is spoiler content. But just as you know: Helly and Droney are bestie soulmate thingy (aka (online) moirails) in this AU. There shall be homosexuality. There shall be trans-shanigans. There shall be casual death and another Poli to put in my body count.

And there shall be a ship both sunken and sailed at the same time. As in, Timeline A sunk, Timeline B sailed kinda thing.

As for what I wanna burn to the ground, besides the things I did with my...sexual drive exploration? And also my first FNF era?

At first, I thought of my first AU for WTPB (aka Alpha/Beta), where it's 1) an FNF mass displacement crossover, 2) transfem Helly with no rhyme or reason...and shipping him with a 17-year-old FNF character (why me why), and 3) Poli got the Bill Cypher defeat ending going on.

But....hey....I had no black sheep?! Even that Alpha/Beta is an artifact to remind me of progress, and my FIRST EVER AU literally jumpstarted my love for AUs and crossovers!

BUT that might just be because i consumed a TON of horrortale content working on my analysis of him so i may br biased idk. personality wise i cant choose a single one because they all have such interesting and fun personalities. if i were being biased i'd say based on who's most similar to me BUT i don't think i can even decide which of the trio has a more similar personality to me (i am a fusion of them all. call me the satsujinki. call me a mtt poly shipchild)

if we're talking canon designs here horror EASILY takes the cake with his stylization. BUT killer has some of the coolest fanon designs i've ever seen. BUT ALSO dust has absolutely amazing art dust artists CANNOT be topped at all. BUT ALSO AGAIN killer is so damn complex and interesting and i love complex characters AND AGAIN AGAIN horror also just has such a cool fucking vibe BUT AGAIN

i cant choose. for the sake of convenience i'll say horror because he's the one i feel like i know most about right now and the more i know the more i can enjoy (also tysm for the thing about my art im glad that someone can appreciate it and find it cool!!! my favorite thing when people appreciate other people's things its amazing 2 me. i still have a lot to work on and learn with my art (especially with like. everything including colors. i have ideas in my head i cannot execute) but still im really happy that the skill level im at right now is still bringing someone joy ‼️‼️‼️)

This part of the lesson is called “Solomon’s many secrets” but he doesn’t really tell you any. You can ask him about the demons he has pacts with and what they are to him. He answers that at this point they’re sorta like friends now. Any other question you ask him, he gives you very vague answers. If you ask if he’s going to tell you the truth, he answers, “nope.” And also that he’s had a bit too much to drink.

ALRIGHT YA’LL! One of my mutuals summed up lesson 60 Hard Mode, which gives great insight as what to expect for season 4. Basically, back in Devildom, Lucifer receives a letter from Michael saying that they’ve chose 2 new students for the exchange program. So big yes to Raphael but who else? I wouldn’t say Michael himself would be one of the new exchange students. I don’t remember if there were any other angels mentioned throughout the lessons. BUT DOES THAT MEAN NEW POSSIBLE NEW CHARACTERS?! I can’t-I can’t love anymore characters! ALSO, Raphael appearing at the end like that?! HELLO?! He’s been mentioned a few times but I wasn’t expecting him to show up! At this point I don’t know what to expect for Season 4. All I know is if they give us routes, you bet I will marry all of them in 1 night. If they give us new characters, I will romance them in 1 night. Even if they’re the bad guys. I’ve been a hoe for 3 seasons I can and will do it for another.

So MC is a licensed sorcerer now. All they have to do is learn summoning magic. Which I assume will happen during this “break”. We don’t want a training arc. Although I am not opposed to spending more time with Solomon.

WELL, I’m excited for what’s to come! We also have the anime coming out soon~ Even if it’s short episodes, it’s still something. Also OtakuFm! And I’m pretty sure a bunch of events. I’ll miss main story brothers and everyone else tho.

For now, I’ll use this break to catch up on hard lessons and more fan art.

Day 4 • Favorite Main Character (Human)

You know, my overall Frontier favorites are the twins (Kouichi mostly) but... The last year rewatch party with friends made me like Takuya the most hehe.

Like, first?? The design for Takuya is cool and simple.

Unlike the previous protags (Taichi, Daisuke & Takato), Takuya’s hair is less “spikyish” and more like Sora’s, but when he removes his hat in some scenes (like evolution, beach episode, etc) or in recent promo art his hair has a few spiky strands defying gravity.

I love his goggles, but I friggin cannot draw them correctly (yeah... orz) -- they’re suqareish and has purple lenses. The strap is greyish instead of the typical black (used for Taichi,Daisuke and Takato goggles) and it’s not on his hair but on his cap.

The cap gives a cute touch in his design. Since his hair is not that spiky like the other classic era series’ protags, the hat makes a great fit on Takuya’s design.

I love his shirt and this symbol. It’s also on his hat as well. Seems to be a brand of clothes. Anyway, they’re pretty cool and i wonder if Takuya has more outfits with this same symbol 🤔

His pants are the coolest part of the design imo. I love them so much. The color has a good match for a couple of colors besides Red & Yellow. I think i had pants like these before?? Maybe not, but I do remember having something similar but not in this color lol...

The color palette is pretty cool (ironic huh) and i like how the brown- green-ish gloves, hat and pants work with the red, yellow and orange parts of his outfit.

Really. A very good design imo.

ANYWAY, his personality is fiery and he definitely seems like a little trollish dumbass. But he’s also nice and has a good skill with kids (Tomoki) and is quite optimistic. I feel like Takuya’s personality is a mix of both Taichi & Daisuke to give some reference, in which he got the niceness of both, but also the rough part as well. He’s pretty much a leader type for me, despite being a bit of a trainwreck from time-to-time.

He likes soccer! And, according to this Drama CD released recently, he’s aiming to go professional and go play in Italy (Italy... Isn’t this the country another character lived and then returned to Japan in this series, hmmm...?) unlike Taichi and Daisuke, who definitely saw soccer as more of a hobby to entertain them than something they wanted to go pro later hehe.

FUN FACT: The BR dub for Frontier had the same voice actor for Ash (until he gor replaced by another VA in Sun Moon i think?) -- Fábio Lucindo. Takuya’s voice wasn’t like Ash’s of course, but it was quite funny because both wear hats 🤣 He also voiced Jin from Grand Chase’s BR server, and I have a friend who used to love this VA, Frontier (Takuya especially) and was so much in love with Jin and wanted Lucindo to voice him. And... well it happened!! But okay this is quite of changing the subject... 💦

Maybe Takuya became my favorite character now. But I swear I still love Kouichi, Kouji and everyone tbh... haha orz

Hi guys, a while back I asked a question about whether there were still any Bloody Roar fans. Now that I’ve logged into my Tumblr again, I’ve seen some ppl chime in to say hello! Thus, to keep this fandom (however small it is lol) active, imma post some cool stuff concerning BR; concept art for the first game. *Note that all this info is from Mitsuakira Tatsuta and Shinsuke Yamakawa’s Twitters with some of my opinions and observations sprinkled in 

So, back when the first game was being developed, the character designers had to rack their brains to come up with good zoanthrope designs. Part of the team were Mitsuakira Tatsuta and Shinsuke Yamakawa and they sketched all kinds of beasts at an incredible rate (like, it was a lot). Mr. Tatsuta himself drew about 300 of them and he said there were a bull and kangaroo design he personally liked but those got rejected (we’ll get there). 

The image above is an unused koala girl whom he and the other artists found funny and couldn’t stop laughing at how terrible and dumb it looked. Tbh, they were kinda right lol. Given how slow koalas are, the image of a humanoid marsupial with boobs running towards you is fucking hilarious.

Anteater dude. Probably would have played like a mix between Bakuryu and Busuzima. Mr. Yamakawa thought it looked similar to the former. Speaking of which.......

Early design for Bakuryu. Seems like the mole was going to have ears and a tail. Actually, I’ve always wondered why the Bakuryus didn’t have tails when moles irl do have visible ones. Unless there’s a breed of mole that doesn’t, in which case I’m not aware of. The concept of a 2nd Bakuryu was also apparently already thought up at this time (idk if in the form of a clone, brother, student, etc.) even when Mr. Tatsuta wasn’t involved much in the later games so it’s nice to know that Kakeru/Kenji was not merely an afterthought haha.

Here are 2 very early concept art of Alice. In the 1st one, she looks more mature and edgy. The design/aesthetic may have been recycled into Nagi’s in BR4 (especially the tube top). In the 2nd one, she doesn’t have pigtails since her hair is short and instead wears a giant bow to emulate bunny ears. Very shoujo-esque.

This is the rejected bull design Mr. Tatsuta mentioned and next to it an early bat zoanthrope. The artist had already thought up some ideas on how they were going to fit in the game. The bat was of course used as the basis for Jenny’s beast form later on. There is also the bull zoanthrope’s human form. The character would be Native American it looks like. Bull guy here had been shown before in concept art included in the BR1 game.

A black panther woman (literally lol). It looks like she could have been a black character (probably the first and only in the series unless you count Greg). Also, if this character was approved, we’d have gotten even more cats in the roster.

Squirrel girl, elephant man, and goat lady. The first one looks kinda like a monkey girl (which would be super cute), elephant obvs became Ganesha later, and the goat lady looks more like a demon/satyr to me. This would actually be cool and does fit in with the mythos as shown in the games and the “BR: The Fang��� manga i.e., fantasy creatures such as mermaids, dragons, and phoenixes. 

Kangaroo zoanthrope. Mr. Tatsuta imagined him using the Muay Thai fighting style. Eventually rejected as Roger, another kangaroo fgc, had already appeared in Tekken 1-2 years before.

Something veeeeeryyyy interesting. This is a pretty detailed design for a character that was going to be Alice’s brother. This guy was also included in the concept art feature in the BR1 game but it was not mentioned who he was supposed to be. I actually thought he was a proto-Yugo or something. Well, if he made it this far into the character creation process (past the rough sketches and onto colored concept art), then there must have been a conceptual storyline for him somewhere along the line. Judging from his appearance and fashion sense (heh), he’s definitely related to Alice.

Additionally, the red eyes and rabbit-like face probably means that he too was going to have a rabbit beast form; maybe even a hare. I guess he was scrapped since having 2 bunnies would’ve been redundant. I wonder how Alice’s backstory might’ve been had her brother existed. Would she have been adopted into the Nonomura family? Was there going to be some plot where she would be looking for him, thinking she lost her family? Who knows. One thing I do know however, is that he’d butt heads with Yugo since he wouldn’t be keen on his sister dating a *gasp* predator.

Now, I think it would be awesome if this character is introduced in a potential reboot/new installment! They could say Alice didn’t know he was alive, or that he stayed away to keep her safe, seeing as she was already happy with the Nonomuras and relegated himself to watching over her in the shadows. Seriouslyyyy the potential is enormous and I’m hoping something will be done with scrapped concepts like this. (Plus, this guy reminded me of the genderbend Alice fanart I did so long ago. I guess male Alice wasn’t too far off after all).

And lastly, Alice in her sailor fuku (human and beast form). Mr. Tatsuta said this was how he imagined she looked like in that costume.

That’s all for now! It’s really interesting to see all this concept art and trace back where some designs carried over into later installments of the series. After going through all of them, I yearn even more for another Bloody Roar game! A reboot would be great and some of the rejected designs could be used too. Or continuation with new characters and a bigger roster; that would be even more amazing. Anyway, I thought I should share these sketches by some of the original Raizing/Eighting staff and keep the interest in BR going. We may get something; in regards to Konami trademarking the brand name last year, we just have to wait and see.
