The game has a habit of pushing luna-as-bride as her whole character which... its not that I don't ship them, or think they're cute. I like Luna! But in addition to her small amount of screen time and the fact that, prior to getting to Tenebrae, she is fully focused on her role as oracle and never gives an opinion on anything else like...

Yeah tenebrae is built to be a sad trip bit, oh woe, luna loves noctis and ravus has nuance to his assholery...

But when being a bride is ALL anyone comments on re:luna it just leaves an ashy taste in my mouth

12. what roleplay trends do you remember from the year you started tumblr rp? how did you feel about those trends?

in the fandom i started in here, which was the ffxv one way back in 2016, there was a lot of crack, & dash com, & honestly when i look at that rpc, as small as it is now, i still see a lot of that tends to go on there. i did used to participate in it myself but honestly, i find both hard to get into now, i prefer to write threads, & develop some proper plots & dynamics between muses.

not saying i don't do crack anymore, but it's something i rather not have on my blog, like me & tasha ( @chosenbythecrystal ), had an ooc convo with each other that just involved noctis vc and majima vc about the pair playing games & eventually bonding over fishing of all things. but even that was kind of plotting, because i'm the kind of person who can turn a silly convo into "man we should actually roleplay this in a proper thread sometime".

Re: that last post, I have for a really long time talked about the phenomenon of “fic begets fic” but it is really a thing. Having been on kind of the ground floor of newer fandoms, or having been in fandoms that had an explosion of specific types of works (lookin at u, FFXV) there was absolutely a movement of fics imitating or inspired by other fanworks. And I have seen this in countless other fandoms.

If you create something passionately, be it meta, fic, art, and so on, there is a chance people will be inspired by it. Fandom is at its core, a conversation. When I was still active in FFXV people would chat with me, I’d talk to other creators. We inspired each others work. A lot of people would more or less pitch me fic ideas (just through ordinary chatting/fun fandom convos) and sometimes I ended up writing those fics. It was a win-win scenario. But it happened because we were all enjoying fanworks together. People who were there to shit on other fanworks, who were mad about the themes/styles we were working in... they sucked to be around. They contributed nothing.

You can whine that fandom doesn’t suit your preferences, or you can put something out into the world. And even if it doesn’t take off, you will be a richer person for having tried making something yourself. You have the opportunity to start the conversation you want to have, and there is a very real chance people will respond! They will engage. But you are responsible for making your own fan-space that’s right for you. You cannot demand other people’s spaces change to your preference.

One time I made a post that said that "mum" has a second meaning, it can mean "quiet" and therefore an English convo in FFXV probably did not mean that Ignis Scientia, age 22 and male, is not the MOTHER of Noctis, age 20. And everyone really felt it was important for me to understand that "Mum" is BriTiSh fOR MoTHeR Yeah I said it had a second definition. Back then, you could not turn off post reblogs. That stupid post took off in the fandom and was so damn irritating, loved being told I was an idiot who didn't know that mum meant mother. Still doesn't make Ignis a mom to a man two years younger than him, and while canon is weird on this, Ignis was about 6 years old when brought in so he was NOT hired as a fucking nanny or MOMMY, it's really much weirder to think that a child should raise another child as a MOTHER than me shipping two men two years apart together and other people claiming it's "pedo incest" due to that! Wished some people would have actually kept mum on that damn post. :) Since then, I'm terrified of too much traction on my posts. Love that we can disable reblogs on our posts. Bless that. When I remember to use it... (Which is more common lately!)

Lillen Shivari, a Final Fantasy XV OC.

Figure I should post something up about this Tumblr and who it represents. This Tumblr is for the FFXV OC Lillen Shivari. Lillen is part of the "Chocobros". She travels with Noct and the others from the moment they set out from Insomnia. She knows Ignis fairly well from interactions around the Citadel, and has briefly interacted with Noctis and Gladio previously, but not to the point of seeing them as friends and she'd never met Prompto until a few days before they had to set out on their trip. Lillen is a brawler type, like Tifa from FF7 or Zell from FF8. She uses Shurikens as her secondary weapon, allowing her to have a ranged option, and her personal skill is singing. It works much like the "Cheer" ability from Comrades, allowing her to provide various status buffs at the start of a fight. She initially takes her assignment as one of Noctis' Crownsguard very seriously. For much of the journey she only refers to him as "Highness", and Iggy as "Ignis". Early on she occasionally scolds the others for their informal treatment of Noctis, such as saying how she can't believe they would make his Highness push the Regalia. She eases up some after the attack on Insomnia, realizing that things are now far different than when they first set out. She initially is very annoyed by Prompto's overall behavior. She feels it isn't at all fitting of a member of the Crownsguard, as she doesn't yet know that Prompto hasn't trained all his life like she, Iggy and Gladio have. Some time into the journey she accidentally overhears Noct and Prompto's conversation on the roof of the motel, and later pulls Iggy aside to ask him about things, knowing she can trust Iggy to not tell the others about the convo later.

**(LATE GAME SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT!!!!)**

After gaining a better understanding of who Prompto is, she grows to like him and ends up falling for him. Ignis and Gladio figure out how she feels, though they keep it to themselves. Noct remains oblivious, as does Prompto until they reach Zegnautus keep. When they rest up after Prompto reveals the truth behind his codeprint and who/what he is, Lillen asks to speak to Prompto, and Ignis quietly suggests to Noct and Gladio that they give the two a few moments. She looks over and tends to some of the wounds he sustained during his captivity, then reveals her feelings towards him, though she doesn't come out and say "love" right away. After Noct disappears into the crystal, Lillen and Prompto stick together, hunting daemons together. I plan to have her lose her memories during the events of Comrades like the player character does in that DLC, though her story won't follow the DLC fully, and she will eventually regain them and reunite with Prompto, leading to their eventual marriage. They spend the 10 years Noct is gone going between helping Cindy at Hammerhead and helping Wiz find and care for Chocobos to keep them safe from everything going on. I plan to work out an alternate ending for Lillen's story than what the game provides, though, offering a much happier ending for the majority of characters involved. Initially events will play out like in the game, however Noct will be put into a type of sleep rather than dying, and will be awakened by Gentiana/Shiva at some point and told there is a chance he can stop the darkness without having to sacrifice his life. He soul/spirit would be sent back in time along with those of his friends, where they would have the chance to do things over and potentially do things differently. Noct will agree, not to try and save himself so much as to try and prevent much of the loss and suffering the people of Eos previously went through. When the gang begins their journey for the second time, they will initially have no memories of their past lives, though they will feel a nagging sense of deja vu. As they journey, various events will trigger memories, and they will be able to make different choices. This will allow certain characters to be spared their previous fates. Jared's death can be avoided. Iggy's blindless can be prevented/reversed (I haven't yet decided just how I want to handle that part, as I still need to read Dawn of the Future to see how things play out there), Luna and Ravus' deaths can be prevented, and of course Noct wouldn't die in the end. I haven't yet decided if Noct will spend time in the crystal again or if he'll be able to stop things without having to hibernate again, since by the time they reach Zegnautus keep for a second time they will have regained all their memories. I plan to take bits and pieces from all the other endings provided by FFXV and its side content, such as Episode Ignis' alternate ending, and that provided by DotF, to put together my own take. I'm using the time travel concept the game offers up via Umbra and the Chapter 15 content. Part of Noctis being able to stop the scourge without sacrificing himself will involve his needing to do things only available in Chapter 15 in the game, such as getting ultimate weapons and defeating the sealed away daemons from the "Beneath Lucis" questline. I hope to eventually write up some bits and pieces of fanfics for Lillen and how some of this plays out, but I'm not sure when I'll actually get around to doing it.

It’s going to be so gods-damned cold out there, standing in the rain at the unprotected bus stop. Prompto’s just gonna lie down on this couch for like ten minutes. He’ll set an alarm on his phone, to be safe. When it goes off, he’ll get up, put on his shoes, grab his umbrella, and head out the door at the exact perfect time. He’ll have no problem catching the 7:24 p.m. bus that won’t come again for another hour and a half after that. It will be totally fine. He’s just going to rest his eyes.

Originally i played ff15 on a computer that didnt support it so i had to drop it eventually bc i really couldn’t play it anymore LDKJFD by the time i had a new computer it had been so long i couldn’t get back to the controls and i didn’t feel like restarting the game

but! i was talking about ff15 with a friend a few days ago and it motivated me to get back at it!

for now i’m mostly streaming it so i don’t get distracted every two minutes so if you get to watch that’s pretty fun:3c

but yes, finally i’m back at those boys and i intend to see it through this time! no bad computer to stop me >:3c

The connecting tone rang on for about a minute. You waited patiently, half expecting that you would be redirected to the voicemail. Part of you wouldn't complain if that was indeed the case, but another part wished you could just get this done and over with.

However, just as the thought flashed in your mind, the call was picked up, and you immediately heard Gladio murmuring in his signature baritone, "Hello?"

Your heart jumped a little. After a moment of panic silence, you replied with, "Hi, it's me."

More silence followed before you heard a sigh. "Yeah, I know. What's up?"

You licked at your lips, not really expecting the conversation to turn so quickly to the point like this. "I'm calling because… I think you deserve an explanation," you managed to say. "Do you have some time to meet and… talk?"

More silence stretched out, and you found yourself holding your breath the entire time. Eventually, Gladio said, "Sure. Do you have a place in mind?"
