Say what you will about the rise and fall of Young Justice but they really did pop off with their iteration of Batman.

They did right by my man Bruce Wayne—he was seriously not to be fucked with.

Like, the third season really did me in. This bitch had plans with plans, was willing to absolutely verbally annihilate the League at the drop of a hat, and pretty much told everyone to kiss his ass while he fucked off to save the world with nothing but his team of former protégés and his own goddamn brain power.

And you know what? It. Fucking. Worked. (Basically.)

Because he’s Batman.

He was brilliant to watch in the first season—he was an excellent mentor, a total badass in the field, and he was a good father figure to Robin. (He was actually surprisingly gentle with him, like he wanted to guide Robin instead of boss him around, which I really appreciated).

Such a king. Rest in peace Young Justice Batman.

My name is Ahmed, I’m 20 years old, and I’m from Gaza City. I used to dream of a peaceful life, completing my education, and getting a job, but the war has turned that dream into something impossible 💔😭. We lived through this massacre in every painful detail, and we are still in pain 😔. We were so happy when the ceasefire was announced, and we returned to our homes in the north of Gaza after being displaced for a year and a half in a tent in the south of the Strip. After we fixed a small room in our destroyed house to live in and start over, unfortunately, the war returned, stronger than before 💔. Now, we have no shelter and no source of income. We have exhausted all our savings during the war. I know that I started my campaign very late, but that’s because there is no other way to help my family 🙏. I am fully confident and hopeful that someone here will help us as much as they can and save my family in these difficult circumstances 😔.

I know that the feeling of starting from scratch is painful and frustrating, but I hope to receive any amount for my family 🥺🙏.

These were children. Babies. Dying slowly and silently before our eyes — and no one is moving. They died just yesterday. 101 children in total have died of starvation since this blockade began.

An elderly man collapsed and died while waiting in line for food.

60,000 pregnant women have no food — not for themselves, not for the babies they carry. Mothers are no longer producing milk. Babies are crying from hunger. Israel has completely blocked baby formula from entering Gaza. Those who are starving are trying to save others who are starving.

Stage 5 famine means that even if food is finally allowed in, it could kill — because the body is too weak to process it. This is a relentless nightmare. A crime unfolding in real time.

Amanda saying Vi needs to "get over the all cops are bad thing" is so rancid. Vi wasn't some edgy privileged teen, her opinions in s1 act 1 were an accurate reflection of her lived experience. She was an oppressed member of society. Her whole life she'd been victim to police brutality and lost her parents to it. She and her people were overpoliced. She got thrown into jail for life at 15 on trumped up charges caused by a corrupt cop that went on to become the sheriff and was routinely beaten by cops while in prison. Caitlyn being nice to her doesn't change anything because Caitlyn is one person, and a rookie cop at that. These writers don't know what the fuck they're talking about nor how police brutality actually affects people.

Learning about the writing behind Arcane has seriously been disappointing and disheartening. They did not care about Vi or people like her, and portraying her story well and with sensitivity. She's just become a puppet for propaganda both in and out of story. As someone who wants to be novelist one day, the only good I can find in this is what not to do with your characters.

my timeline on twitter is full of people from gaza saying they're starving. gaza has been deprived of food slowly and strategically for the past 600 days but it has never been like this. even sameer project have said they have not been able to distribute food for the past 3 days. i'm genuinely really scared. i try to give people actionable things to do like donations (which we should all still do) but there actively is not enough food in gaza at this moment even with extreme inflation and it feels like this news is being deliberately buried by mainstream media. it feels like i'm being forced to watch my friends, their parents, their children, people i know, people i'm talking to, waste away right in front of me
