[me wildly gesticulating] so the orbs are "vessels of dreams". and they seemed to be drawn out of the titans, and the titans had like a hivemind connection to their dwarves. and not only did the titans have a connection to the dwarves, they also had a connection to the dragons. and archdemons can use their connection to the blight (a corrupt version of the titans' song) to body hop to any nearby darkspawn instead of being killed.

and there are the preexisting ideas of both casteless brands + tranquility brands, which both have the idea of "cutting off" the target from connecting to the fade/the stone, but the casteless brands are just a social signifier now. and this is also like vallaslin, in a way, bc they probably used to do Something in arlathan, but are purely cultural markers now?

so does this mean the vallaslin had an effect of "focusing" their followers' energy towards their evanuris in a weaker mimicry of the hivemind? was it a full on blood magic compulsion/tracking device too, bc that would make sense for a bunch of tyrants, and even modern thedas has phylacteries? did it create an effect similar to how archdemons can "hop" between bodies, in that an evanuris was unkillable as long as they could hop into a follower and take over their body? is this how the dragon/orb connection works, in that the holder of the orb can bind a dragon, that effectively confers immortality on them both, bc they can body hop around?

this would make sense with how freaked out solas got about corypheus and the orb at first, if he thought corypheus had fully unlocked it to the point of genuinely getting an archdemon attached to him, rather than just using the blight on a random dragon? and corypheus first targeting the sacred ashes temple + the divine would also make sense, if he needs to use the faith people have in them to unlock the orb?

is THIS how mythal managed to survive in a human body after the veil, bc after being Extremely Murdered by the other evanuris, her fragment found someone who naturally mirrored her Vengeance Traits and therefore managed to hop into flemeth? is this why she needs to raise her vessels from scratch, bc they need to be linked to her somehow, both through blood and trying to mold their personality a certain way to be suitable?

and what does this mean for the dales, bc it's SO specific that they stopped revering the dread wolf after collapsing, but retained all the other gods? why are the dalish SO specifically misinformed about the creators? how many ancient elves are out there, and are any of them evanuris loyalists? that would make sense, bc mythal has her followers and felassan was still running around for ages? would these ancient elves be involved in trying to subtly influence elven culture, bc they would want to retain evanuris worship?

what does this mean about solas, who didn't have any vallaslin? did he have a sort of organic worship boost just from people naturally starting to believe in him? is that what the dread wolf form is derived from - like at the height of his power he had enough grassroots support that it gave him the ability to take on this cool form? he's depicted as separate from it in murals - does that mean he cut it off and left it in the black city to close it, which would fit all the "wolf gnaws off leg" myths associated with him? is it presumably blighted in there now? is that why he wanted his orb unlocked, to be able to retake this fragment of his power? and then when the orb was destroyed, he pivoted to "dinan'shiral, no one should follow me or see what i become, killing mythal deserves eternal torment but i'm doing it anyway" and went for the red lyrium idol instead, bc his plan was to use the blight to control and retake that fragment of his power to deal with the evanuris again?

bioware, nodding helpfully: have you considered that the time of the titans is over? we are never going to mention vallaslin again, or the casteless. and the blight is a status effect. nothing happened to solas after 10 years of hanging onto the red lyrium idol btw, he can just cure that now :)

outstanding level of horrors coming from Kick (and more specifically from the French streamer side of things), i feel so sick in my stomach right now.

French streamer Jean Pormanove (46) died live in a livestream after being tortured for literal years live on the platform Kick.

Kick is a video of livestream/video that was created with less strict moderation rules than the others big video platform. It's been, among other, supported by Mr Beast in its development.

For years Jean Pormanove was considered one of the top ten most viewed French streamers (all platform). The content of the channel was a constant stream of abuse being done against him by his two co-workers/roommates who would humiliate and torture him live and do financial blackmail to keep him participating to this whole charade.

Their latest torture was to force him to stay awake "as long as needed to finish this game", which lasted for 10 days straight. During that time he was suffocated, hit, chained down, and went through more violence. If he fell asleep he would be awaken with violence. He fell asleep one last time and it's only when he wasn't reacting to being thrown water bottles to his face that his coworkers realized something was wrong. He died live. They let the stream run for one more hour after realizing he died, while keeping the body visible on camera.

The tortures had been documented (here's a very detailed french account of what the tortures have been, it's a sickening read, approach with caution) and the police had already been called on his coworkers, but it was not deemed bad enough for further intervention. Articles about the alarming abuses ongoing on the platform had been written as far as 2023 and 2024 by major news outlet without anything to be done to stop it.

It is also of notes that Jean Pormanove was considered mentally fragile, showing signs of nerodivergences that were used to humiliate him and keep him trapped in this relationship, as well from being financially dependent on his coworkers. They constantly reminded him that they were his only friends and the reason he could live the life he leads now, and therefore should never leave them, which Jean Pormanove would have been receptive to due to his mental state. They called him "disabled". In last texts to his mother, Jean Pormanove mentioned feeling sequestered, locked in, as his coworkers wouldn't let him leave.

Kick meanwhile had promoted the videos of said tortures on its platform for years, deeply aware that it was going on on their platform, and promoting it as worthwhile content to watch. They also paid the streamers and allowed the to raise money with those videos.

People have been calling for Kick to take responsibility on what happened and for rules about content to be established to moderate this sort of things. They also call for repercussions against the streamers who tortured him for years. As of now, a case has been opened to investigate exactly what had happened.

This is the big discussion on the French corner of the internet atm. I've never heard about the man or the situation until now. This is making me so sick in my stomach.
