all this talk I've read through of anon talking about how horrified Orologia would be of Danchou dating Siete has made me curious how horrified would they be about the idea of dating Lobelia.

Clearly Siete is terrifying because of the whole Boundary stuff and how much tinkering it took to make him a "decent to questionable guy" but Lobelia..... That's just. "He's a serial killer but he Promised Not To Anymore because i asked him very nicely after kicking his ass." I think they'd just faint on the spot.

And You not covering Evokers is really funny considering the preview had Threat Levels on a lot of characters but at Least Lobelia and Nier would be pretty high up there too out of the evokers!

We discuss Seofon a lot because some of the anons have big crushes on him so he becomes our topic of interest most of the time, thus why we mostly discussed the "dating them would be so painful for Orologia" angle with him.

but you're 100% correct. Orologia would totally have an attack if MC ended up dating Lobelia i mean. Their baby D:

It was mentioned Logia can't really influence things that are reliant on the Astrals and the Primal Beasts and it's why they had to let things play out in some way, and i would imagine the Evokers for instance fall in this category because of how linked to their summons they are -- especially Lobelia who often tortures people into the Tower after all. so it's likely why they weren't included with "And You" compared to others mortals who have direct impact on others mortals, and Seofon who keeps killing the others dragons.

So maybe Lobelia doesn't have the scope of nearly as bad in mind (or the fact Seofon was a threat on a world destroying basis is more important to him than people being menaces to specific groups) but, regardless to that Orologia would freak out learning that MC trusts him, somewhat, yknow.

At least i could imagine Logia meeting the Evokers and having this moment the gears start turning in their head going "i made a mistake i didn't consider them turn back i need some more simulations--" and the only way to stop them is to have one of the dragons forcefully having to carry them out of the ship

god poor Logia. we really make their lives even more difficult.

Dragon Age said trans rights

Always has been

Dao and da2 have problematic depiction of trans characters in the brothel, one not being named and another bring Serepidy, if i recall her name right? But it takes someone being rude about her to mention it and i don't want to give credit to that.

first canon trans character of the franchise was Maevaris in a comics published in 2013. She's a trans woman.

Second was Krem in Dragon Age Inquisition (2014) with whom you can have a lengthy conversation about how it felt to be trans with him. If you pick rude options about it, Iron Bull, Krem's caretaker, starts to get mad at you. Cole, a spirit who can read people's mind and have no social concept of gender, genders Krem properly with he/him pronouns in his banters (and it was one of the banters thay had Bull think Cole was a good kid). In Trespasser depending on your options you can get Krem to date someone and if you worry about it Cole makes it clear they'll accept each other.

In The Last Flight (2015) a character is explicitly genderfluid, constantly switching gender appearance depending on chapters, and refered accordingly wirh pronouns switch from he/she/they.

In Tevinter Nights (2020) the narrator of Luck In The Garden explicitly states that they never felt like they were one gender more than the other and would switch presentation like a costume, like one would change accent, and mentions explicitly that "while people refer to me as sir or ma'am in this story, i do not personally identify either way"

In Vow and Vengeances (2024) Drayden uses they/them pronouns the whole time. There are mentions of their dead name in a storyline that explains their father regretted not accepting them when they were alive.

In Veilguard (2024) you can explicitly be trans, you can also pick your pronouns between she/he/they, add top surgery scars, stuff like that

Maevaris makes a come back. Tarquin comes out to Taash. There's all i mentioned underneath too.

And that's from what i remember on the top of my head.

Dragon Age was always a bit ahead in term of lgbt+ atuff (Origins in 2009 actually had newshows talk about it scandalized because it was possible for a man to have sex with Zevran -- ignoring of course that Leliana too was bi. In DAO Zevran and Leliana are bi and have to deal with their same-gender ex trying to come back into their lives and ruin it in their personal quests, and a major main quest plotpoint resolve arojnd Oghren getting dumped by his wife when she realized she was a lesbian)

So yeah it's not surprising (compared to what the outrage merchant are trying to sell online about "Dragon Age becoming woke")

But it's still particularly nice to see them go even further into it in Veilguard. Keep moving forward.

imagine reading that and thinking "ah yes Basil and Dorian should totally be siblings." The fucking galls.

Oscar Wilde was put on trial for "indecency", aka homosexuality, when he was caught with a male lover a few years after the publication of The Picture of Dorian Gray. The book was literally used as a proof against him, as a proof for the "crimes" he was accused of. Oscar Wilde was condemned to forced work that made him incredibly weak and he died a couple years later out of complication from the pain he endured while incarcerated.

Like, there's a lot of levels to the homophobia here. Yes, media literacy is low. But so is history literacy. So is an understanding of Wilde's life. so is the respect for the writer who's book was used to condemn him to die because of his homosexuality. (well, possible bisexuality since he was married to a woman, but it's not like we have a proper denomination about Wilde's sexuality, especially at a time being anything other than straight was condemned by the law).

This is genuinely so upsetting to me lmao like Wilde wasn't tried for homosexuality using this book as proof for you to make two of the characters that imply that to be BROTHERS.

Ever Crisis is a ff7 gacha and they often release alternative outfit. The gacha came out one year ago so they're having a celebration now. Cloud, Aerith, Tifa and Yuffie all got "Bahamut" themed costumes

but the promo pictures don't really show just HOW slutty Cloud looks. Like you would believe he has a SHIRT on, not that his skin is colored purple???

it's an insane design.

For now only Cloud has been released in game, thus why we have HD footage of the skin.
