Redesign of the character Alice from my old "The Rise of Darkas" AU story
Tumblr media
"The Rise of Darkas" is one of the oldest and one of the craziest ideas of mine in the HTTYD fandom:D
My thoughts about this began more than 5 years ago. This is basically the idea for which I came up with the whole hulf-human Dragons thing!
The first versions of the plot were absolutely illogical and not thought out... But nowadays I continue to rewrite and add to this story, just for myself so far.. And this Deathgripper girl is quite important to the plot as in the old version of the story, as in the new ones, so, I wanted to work on her design a little better))
(However this is one of the few old designs of mine that I still like so there aren't that many differences))
Hope you like it!
Old design~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alice is actually quite a tragic character..
In the past, she was one of Grimmel's top Deathgrippers. He raised and trained her from birth and Alice saw him as her master and practically a father, adored him with all her heart and never considered the possibility that he might be wrong, so of all his dragons she was one of the most loyal and obedient.
But one single day plunged Alice into complete shock when an event occurred that forces her only beloved human, master and "parent" to commit suicide, killing himself with her poison, just in front of her eyes..
(actions of this version of the story take place 2 years before HTTYD3, plot of which will never happen)
A LOT happened in her life later...
She saw herself in a half-human form for the first time.
She found herself a new master.
For the first time started thinking about her life.
Experienced real “parental love”, which, as she previously thought, Grimmel and her new master showed her.
And all this made her understand that perhaps both he and Grimmel weren’t as good and right as she thought..
This developed into terrible psychological trauma and a HUGE feeling of guilt for how much she did on their orders, being sure that they were right.
The end of her story isn't quite written yet...
But spoiler: thanks to her own efforts and the various interactions of the creatures around, her ending will be relatively happy, even if it may not possible to be completely like that :,)

Ooooooo!!!! My friend and I were talking today about this idea. (Different fandom though.)
Drago comes back after Grimmel is defeated, the dragons stay in this AU. Drago kidnaps Hiccup and has figured out how to bring people back from the dead. And he has found out about Viggo.
He brings Viggo and Stoick back from the dead, only to kill them again. In front of Hiccup. Over, and over, and over again. Until Hiccup finally snaps and Kills Drago with his bare hands.
It could have happened either, just after the last time he kills Viggo and Stoick, or just after he brought them back one last time.
Thank you for listening.
Yo.
YO.
That is SO fucked up. I’m getting better at handling major character death in the fiction I read/write, so this is just absolutely delicious to me. It’s utterly horrifying.
And does Hiccup get left alone at the end? Or does he get to keep his father and Viggo? Either one would have so much angst.
So fucked. Good job.

Based on a conversation @reallyprofoundkryptonite and I had about some whump for my au/story
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TW: Implied/Referenced Kidnapping, Non-Consensual Mutilation, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Homophobic Language/Slurs, Racist Language/Slurs
Character(s): Original Trans Male Character (Magnus), Grimmel
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pain.
Pain was pulling a muscle, scraping a knee, or even being scratched by a Terrible Terror. Pain was comprehensible and could be handled with relative ease. Pain was familiar. Magnus knew pain. He'd felt it himself. Had helped others, human and dragon, through the pain of deep cuts or bruised ribs.
This, however, was agony. The blade sliding beneath his skin. Cutting into the sensitive flesh around his left eye. Skinning him of the soft, dark scales that made up the birthmark he'd grown so proud of after seeing similar clumps on his adopted fathers arms and back. Agony was blinding and left the victim panicking. Hyperventilating. Agony was what pain wished to be.
Because pain was now the fingers tangled in rust colored hair so tightly they may as well have been tearing the locks from the boy's scalp. Pain was every tug and rip from the top of his head as Magnus thrashed, frantically trying to dislodge the hand or the blade itself. Pain was the feeling of Grimmel's men holding his arms and legs down. Pinning him to the table he was laid upon so harshly his fingertips were beginning to tingle from the force used. Pain was the strain his lungs were put under as he gasped for breath between wails and screams that echoed through the camp.
With pain and agony came rage, and rage burned like the blast of a Deadly Nadder. Rage fueled defiance, and defiance spurred tired muscles to keep fighting. Kept a strained, cracking voice yelling swears that would have even the most foul mouthed sailor taken aback. Rage and defiance kept back fear. Kept the vulnerable emotion hidden from prying eyes that wanted nothing more than to see even the slightest glimmer of weakness.
Blood continued to pool beneath his head, the steady stream leaving a crimson trail and clumping hair. Magnus thrashed even harder and the blade slipped from his skin, nicking his cheek and leaving a fresh line that connected a few of his freckles to each other. Grimmel snarled and tightened his hold on the boy's hair. Ripped out a few fresh strands as he forced Magnus's head back into the desired position. As oak colored eyes glared up at him, full of a fire that Grimmel fully intended to extinguish before the riders and the boy's fathers came to his rescue.
The blade had barely even brushed those scales again when Magnus jerked his head to his left before throwing it back with a cry. Fresh blood and tears leaked from the corner of his right eye now. An eye that refused to fully open for more than a second. An eye that now had a blinding gash across it. Grimmel chuckled darkly and pressed down, pinning the boy's head against the table once again.
"All that fight and you've only managed to half blind yourself? How pitiful. Though I suppose you now have something in common with that ugly, mudskinned savage you call a father. And when I'm done with this,"
He pressed the knife back into the fresh, still bleeding cut. Slid the blade between scale and muscle, slowly inching it closer to the boy's left eye.
"you'll share a scar with that fag of a chief you care so much for. Hm, a burn would fit better though, wouldn't it? Perhaps we should do that later?"
"Fuck you!"
Grimmel tsked and shook his head slightly before, suddenly, setting the knife down on the table. Confusion turned to blinding, white hot pain as Grimmel then gripped the flap he'd cut loose and slowly pulled. He was careful, if one could call it that, as he peeled off a chunk of scales. He was careful because he wanted to keep it in one piece, if possible. He wanted it intact so he could brag about overpowering a boy with just enough lycanwing in his blood to posses scales in the first place. And, of course, he wanted the brat to suffer.
Magnus thought he knew agony before. Thought the agony of being skinned was as bad as it would get.
He was wrong.
That agony paled in comparison to what he was feeling now. Was something he'd likely forget about as the sound of skin being pulled apart echoed in his ears. He tried to breathe through the sharp burn that accompanied each pull and left white dancing across his vision. His chest ached with the effort, with the hitching sobs and choked wails that kept forcing much needed air from his lungs. He was vaguely aware of the distinct absence of pain in his scalp. Vaguely realized he'd stopped struggling, and was instead trembling like a newborn lamb.
Truthfully, he doubted he had the energy to struggle anymore. The men holding him down could tell as much. They relaxed their collective grip and Magnus could feel his fingertips again. Could feel the blood gratefully rushing towards his racing heart. The man to his right, who he could no longer see in his peripherals, was running his thumb along Magnus's wrist in a soothing manner.
Trying to comfort. Trying to ground. Trying to assure the young teen that it would be over soon. All the while Magnus could only shake and wheeze. Could only clench his jaw and bite his tongue as the knife returned and continued cutting. Could only stare distantly through the smiling face towering above him.
Could only pray for unconsciousness to grant him the mercy Grimmel wouldn't.

Self Insert & F/O Master List
Main Romantic F/O
Dr. Eggman/Ivo Robotnik - Sonic the Hedgehog
Other F/O's (meaning I am not currently crushing/fixating on them, but they are still my faves)
Blinky/Blinkous Galadrigal - Trollhunters
All Might - My Hero Academia
Dave the Octopus - Penguins of Madagascar
King Candy/Turbo/King Candybug - Wreck-It Ralph
Astarion - BG3
Shin - Dragon Ball
Piccolo - Dragon Ball
Stanford Pines - Gravity Falls
General Grievous - Star Wars
Ingo - Pokemon
Other Fave Faves (Platonic)
Shank - Wreck-It Ralph
Aerith - Final Fantasy
Launch - Dragon Ball
Tracer - Overwatch
Tron Bonne - Megaman Legends
Wheatley - Portal 2
Samus Aran - Metroid
Ridley - Metroid
Ahsoka Tano - Star Wars
OCs
Steven Wheatfield - Started off as a parody version of Human!Wheatley but has grown into his own over the years. I use him in almost all my AUs and give him cameos frequently in my works. He is a British programmer and fills in for my "Smart Guy" roles.
Self Inserts
Atomic Ace (My Hero Academia) - Quirk "Adrenaline". Adrenaline gives her super strength, speed, and overall massive power. After many years she finally reached America's Number 1 Hero in her late 20's, only to lose it months later due to her quirk taking a toll on her body. In her youth, she hung out with All Might and David Shield during Toshi's American tour. All Might and AA both were in love with each other but were to focused on becoming hero's to admit it to one another. That is until AA comes to Japan years later during the show's events.
Kailey "Kat" Terranova (Metroid) - Kat is the Director of Development for Galactic Federation Space Research Station Number 2. In charge of keeping tabs with both the research team and Federation investors, Kat has been working with head scientist Steven Wheatfield to bring to light the transcendence of human minds into Artificial Intelligence. Unfortunately, things go wrong when the base is attacked by Ridley and the Space Pirates, and over the course of the Metroid franchise she becomes their unwilling genetically modified test subject.
Kat (Dragon Ball) - After her dad is killed by King Piccolo during the Piccolo arc in Dragon Ball, Kat sets off on her own with her newfound freedom. Little does she know that she will soon be making company with Piccolo Jr. Set between the end of Dragon Ball and DBZ. Later expands into DBZ as an AU where Kat and Piccolo know the events of the "canon" timeline, which causes Shin to get involved way early on to try and stop Buu and prior threats.
Kailey aka The First User (Wreck-It Ralph) - Is part of a test that sends people to digital space and is lowkey a Tron crossover insert and AU. She is the first person to have physical contact with Programs/game characters, triggering a series of events that lead the world to allow Programs to travel to and fro between digital space and the real world.
Kailey (Pokemon) - Owns a farm in west Unova. During her back and forth to the city after establishing her farm, news of one of the Submas brothers going missing is hard to miss. Little does she know that Arceus is about to use her, too, and soon she will cross fates with Ingo, the missing twin.
The Vulture (Spiderverse) - With her father abandoning her and her sickly mother, a new variant of the Vulture is soon to be added to the Spiderverse. Oscorp, having been experimenting on the poor population of the city, the Vulture is born with large brown wings as a result of her parents exposure to genetic mutagens. While her mother regards her as beautiful, society rejects her, burying her more into poverty. Ultimately, the illness takes her mother, and she seeks revenge on Oscorp and its hedge-funders.
Sarai Daan (Star Wars) - Sarai is a Togruta Jedi Knight and a survivor of the Clone Wars.
Kelda the Wild aka The Skrill Princess (How to Train Your Dragon) - A former hunter-trapper, Kelda once looked up to bounty hunters like Grimmel the Grisly during their youth and sought to appease her starving guild. However, her heart soon pulled her away from that life, and she would abandon all she knew to fight for the dragons, specifically a mother Skrill who left two children behind after she was killed by Grimmel.
Kat/Kailey/Kaleen/etc. (WoW, BG3, DnD, General Fantasy, etc.) - Always a Cleric with light or fire affinities, and always an Elf. Knowledgeable in Apologetics and religious texts of their god/gods and even other gods of their universe, and has a chaotic good alignment.
Kailey (Penguins of Madagascar) - is the human assistant to Dr. Octavius Brine aka Dave the Octopus. She is virtually the only human in the world to know his secret.
Guardian of Comfort (Rise of the Guardians/Guardians of Childhood) - Is the guardian of comfort and spirit of warmth and acceptance. Based on "comfort and joy" in the Christmas tune, she has fire abilities and is associated with candlelight. As a human, she died in a fire protecting the ones she loved, and was chosen by Man in Moon, to continue to provide her comforting presence to lost and despairing children all over the world.
Kailey (Sonic verse) - A human. Boom!Kailey is actually an isekai that gets sucked into the shenanigans of the universe taking place in the cartoon Sonic Boom and serves as the focal point for my other inserts in the many Sonic universes. Main!Kailey is a test pilot, with aspirations to have a "lazy girl job" and has goals to have what Boom!Kailey has. Both versions are in love or married to Eggman and the trend is that in every universe they always get together with him in some form, good or bad.

I think it’s basically canon at this point that Krogan isn’t exactly native to the archipelago. He is black, and if not completely he’s probably got some middle eastern in him based on his nose. Though him being a grandchild of Grimmel might be cool, it is doubtful based on his race. They have a similar head shape, perhaps, but that’s quite the common high-cheekbone, angular face shape.
That also makes me think about my silly au I have where Krogan is Drago’s adopted heir, though. In that au the second movie starts with Krogan allowing himself to be captured to plot out a way for the gang to try to help him change his father’s mind about dragons. Drago is actually for the most part a very kind and just leader, it is just that he has let his trauma from the beasts cloud his judgement, and due to the things he’s seen, besides Krogan, he doesn’t have much faith in people either. I really gotta get back to my Krogan Bludvist au atp because of the thought of making Grimmel Krogan’s uncle/Grandfather or mentor.
The whole thing for that au is kind of a whole thing of making the dragon hunter factions a sort of large family group. The Grimborns are a sister faction that is related to Drago via one of his associates and his family, and tyere’s a bunch of other dragon hunting factions and families that are explored through race to to the edge, some which are related to Drago, and others which are not.
Drago also doesn’t really care that his heir has feelings for a guy. (Viggo. He isn’t family, so he is considered a right choice due to money and forming stronger bonds with the Northern Alliance. Hiccup would also make for a good choice, though to be honest I haven’t completely decided if I want both or one or the other yet) After all he can just adopt a new heir, or if they really need a baby there’s always surrogacy.
Since Krogan is his heir, he wears similar armor to his adopted father to signify his rank, however his armor is made from the plating of a Rumblehorn. Drago let him choose what scales he wanted his armor to be made of and Krogan chose a really pretty iridescent green which ended up being rumblehorn scales. Krogan also rides a Razorwhip, which is interesting because of the fact that most of the dragons have been hand trained by Krogan, or at least quite a few of them, meaning he has quite a few who physically trust him enough to allow him to ride them, including a gigantic titanwing Typhoomerang who is actually the grandmother of Torch, from Riders of Berk.
So ye… more thoughts for this au that I’m going to start putting more development into. I might rewrite the introduction to this au since it goes over how Drago found Krogan.
Sorry about rambling, I really like sharing my aus with people lol
QUICK QUESTION!
Krogan died at the end of the show, right? When he went to Drago without the Bewilderbeast egg right? I'm thinking about it now cause he and Grimmel lore are very similar. (to me)
Also... WAS ANYONE ELSE SAD THAT VIGGO DIED?!? LIKE WHAT?!?! WHY?! HE BETTER! AND I MEAN BETTER HAVE SURVIVED AND IS NOW LIVING oN HIS OWN LITTLE ISLAND/FARM SITTING OUT ON HIS PORCH WITH THE SKRILL HALF LAYING DOWN ON HIS LAP LIKE AN OLD FARMER AND HIS DOG! SOMEONE MAKE A FANRT!

Fun facts on the New Generation AU:
Dagur and Eret babysit the Hicstrid kids the most out of all of their other allies.
Gobber is the village therapist and is the one everyone can come to for advice on certain topics (coming out of the closet being the most common one)
Because Grimmel doesn’t exist in this AU, there are more Night/Light Furies in the world, most of them now living on Berk ever since Toothless became the alpha.
Fang, Ethan’s Whispering Death, HATES it whenever anyone who isn’t Ethan tries to ride her solo. She will throw the biggest tantrums ever and do anything to get them off. The only two exceptions are Tuffnut and Puffnut.
Salva loves to bite her brothers, she’s the most feral one of the Hicstrid kids.
Viggo has also befriended a Zippleback, which is how he’s able to get the gas for his sword. The Zippleback was already friends with Savior the Monstrous Nightmare, and their names are Crackle and Zap.
Ethan can’t swim.
Hiccup constantly teaches his kids how to build and invent stuff and is very proud of all their achievements.
Snotlout is very proud of his daughters and will constantly let them know because he never got that treatment from his father and wants to break the cycle of abuse.
Ruffnut will never have kids of her own in the future, but was more than willing to be the surrogate to Fluffnut and Puffnut so her brother and Snotlout could have their own family.
Fluffnut and Ethan have a one week age difference. Puffnut is nine months younger than the both of them.
Runa is non-binary
Fluffnut is trans MTF and has a very supportive family.
The “Troll” that would constantly steal Gobber’s socks was a titanwing terrible terror.
Viggo crafted an entire armor set made out of shed Skrill scales to protect himself whenever he flew on Shockwave, he has been zapped a couple times on accident, which makes his dragon panic.
Shockwave has severe separation anxiety.
Savior is clingy.
Fang is not the smartest Whispering Death out there.
Dante has started building newer and more advanced prosthetics for both himself and his family.
Puffnut has a Typhoomerang named Blaze, he’s an asshole.
Fluffnut has a Thunderdrum named Boomer, who is also quite stupid.
Hookfang spoils the Thorston-Jorgenson kids as much as he can in Monstrous Nightmare ways
Ethan loses a foot from a Changewing’s acid
Windshear has become very protective over Cory and Runa that she has occasionally attacked Fishlegs
Fishlegs is poly and Heather is okay with it as long as he tells her about every partner.
Asdis and Halvor are twins, with Asdis being the eldest and already destined to be the new DotW queen and Berserker Chieftess, yet Halvor desperately wants to be the berserker chief.
Speer is known as Speer the Psychotic because if he really hates you, he throws his shit at you…literally.
Salva will always name her dragons the most human names possible (Chloe the Deathsong, Pierce the Grim Gnasher, Jared the Scauldron)
Ethan trash talks whenever he plays Maces and Talons, which is probably why he rarely wins.
Ethan was conceived on Defenders of the Wing, and Speer was conceived on Berk.
Gustav and Gruffnut are both evil and work for Ryker (yes he’s still alive in this AU)
Ryker is ace
Asdis has a Triple Stryke named Blister
Speer had a Terrible Terror named Skrill
Halvor has no dragon of his own so far
Ethan will be 4’11 at the tallest, mention how short he is and he will start yelling.
Mala will listen to Dagur rant about his interests for hours on end, she loves listening to him rant.
Ethan and Puffnut got trapped and forced to participate in dragon fights, it’s where Ethan met the Changewing that took his foot.
Astrid beats the ever living hell out of the Hunter that had captured Ethan and put him in the dragon fights, making sure that his body became so mangled and bloodied that no one would be able to recognize it again.
Valka technically tamed the Screaming Death, and he and the other Whispering Deaths now live on Dark Deep after their island was attacked.
All of the Hicstrid kids use some of Valka’s tactic to help tame more wild dragons.
Ethan and Salva have tiny scars on their faces from Cloudjumper (they were all accidental). Ethan has a scar on his lip, Salva has a scar on her cheek.
Ethan has a scar on his neck from Fang, they were both young and stupid.
Dante took a Skrill from a Hunter when he was 5 and named it Zappy.
Dagur adopts a baby Skrill.
Dante has a scar on his cheek from Drago Bludvist (yeah, he’s alive too)

httyd au. does this imply warrior mother barbara 👀(love your artstyle and content, its so cool!!!! <3333)
...OH SHIT I HAVEN'T THOUGHT ABOUT IT YET! ( and THANK YOU <3)
BUT! I have a few ideas that I will share! Give them criticism and offer your thoughts. I can't do anything alone.
So, now there will be some more fun. I hope I can talk about it properly
Gunmar was gone, so his wife ( and in accordance with my headcanons, I will call her Bertha ) was left in charge of the tribe.Queen can't take his loss lightly, but their lands must remain safe, and food is needed for hiking and searching. So the Gumm Gumm attack the human settlements in order to replenish the provisions
During one of these trips, Bular decided to slip away. Perhaps he himself can find his father and the missing group of warriors
I also look at other parts of the HTTYD and here are a few thoughts(yes, I'm rushing things):
Hiccup's mother was taken to the Trollmarket. So she lived among the trolls all this time and even learned the Trollish
Drago Bludvist and his dragon = Merlin and Tellad-Urr
As for Part 3, it's already much more interesting. No, no love interest for Bular, because there is a much cooler idea. Instead of the light furry, Gunmar is here! Oh, yes. And Morgana instead of Grimmel the Grisly.

A HTTYD 3 AU
@hiccup-is-left-handed did a thing (which I cannot link because mobile) and I really don’t wanna hijack their post but credit where credit is due ok? Ok.
This got way out of hand, I apologize for the long post… Idk how to put it under a read more on mobile, heh <3
So. The Hidden World AU where Toothless and the Light Fury are friends/“just like me” sort of situation + Hiccup is the one captured:
• That add on where the beginning was dark and grimy, yes. • The Grimmel scene happens between him and a fallen drago. Drago desperately needs a new Alpha to control his dragon army, so he enlists Grimmel. • The Light Fury in the cage is not in fact our LF girl, but a young male, about Toothless’ age in HTTYD 1 • Grimmel’s comment about him is around the line of “Furies are social creatures”, so through that line we learn that Toothless would in fact crave a “pack” (I keep calling a group of furies a pack bear with me), except he doesn’t really know that yet.
• Toothless meeting this equivalent of yearling male would go the same way except the dynamic would be (as hiccup-is-left-handed mentioned) similar to spiderverse’s “you’re like me”– a connection but not a romantic one
• Grimmel would still attack Hiccup’s home, but his deathgrippers actually torch down a good deal of the village • Because of the grimy beginning we see this is just another attack and Berk’s people have been suffering (injuries, slings and stuff in the great hall scene) • a bigger deal is made out of them leaving, there’s probably a scene where Hiccup is sitting next to his father’s statue after the meeting and talking to it, asking for advice • Astrid comforts Hiccup there– you’d have time for this since we’d cut most of the Hesitant To Get Married subplot, it’s in fact treated as something to happen someday in the future but both agree with the current situation it’s best to postpone it • or maybe Valka, since because we’re removing the marriage subplot, she could still get One Good Scene with Hiccup. It would still be a little stiff between them, since she’s still relatively new at this mom thing, but they both try. It’s up to you. Either way, Hiccup is convinced they must leave now. • Personally, because I’m a nerd, I’d make the beginning of the scene about Hiccup telling one of them (Valka or Astrid, your call), about how when he were little he always wanted the glory, and to be a Hero to his tribe… But he has so many difficult choices to make and it’s hard. And Valka/Astrid comments that yes, indeed, some people win glory “easily”, how Hiccup would have gotten had he killed that Night Fury, others… Well, others like him need to become Heroes the Hard Way <3 • Probably a scene of the Berkians sadly looking back to their old island and and then forward to their new future
• The yearling doesn’t go back for Toothless, but (in Nova Berk) Toothless does pick up his scent and follows him to that beachy area Toothless tries to woo the LF in the actual movie • There we find out the yearling male has a sibling, a sister, and THAT would be our girl. He calls out to the mountains and she appears and makes a huge fuss about him being back (which gives them both some nice personalities as well as showing their devotion to each other)
• Toothless is in fact attracted to her, but it’s a very minor thing in the grand scheme of him meeting others like him • Toothless tries to join them, and like in the movie Hiccup tries to coach him through befriending these dragons which are so like him • LF girl still gets offended, Toothless still falls down from the tree. yearling LF is very amused at this but also very curious about the branch, so he picks it up and starts playing with it in a rather catlike fashion • Toothless decides to show them how HE plays with the branch, so he picks it up and starts drawing • It’s no big fancy drawing, just his usual scribbles, but both siblings are very intrigued and impressed by it • Toothless still growls at the LF when she tries to step on it, and she growls back (they do NOT get started on the best terms despite Toothless’ original attraction– it could even be read as him just being curious about the fact that she’s a female), but the young male does get it, so he hops around the lines like Hiccup did, grabs the stick and flies away • Following her brother’s example, the LF tries to get to Toothless by hopping around the scribbly lines • We’d get a similar scene to Hiccup hitting his back on toothless and looking up at him, except the LF just gazes at him and Toothless smiles a little at her • She in turn tried to copy his facial expression and smiles as well, and it’s -then- that they click • The siblings still find Hiccup, but Toothless stands between them and his friend so they just choose to leave instead • Toothless still falls on the water trying to follow them but he doesn’t glare at his lack of tail, just looks longingly up at them
• Hiccup does NOT make a new tailfin right away for Toothless. Instead, we get a very “See You Tomorrow” montage, except it’s with Toothless going between the dragons and Hiccup, and each time he learns something new about himself • You could also show Hiccup looking a bit down/feeling left off during this montage, but trying to be happy for Toothless • Eventually, Hiccup decides to make the new tailfin. The scene would go basically the same way except there’s a bigger moment for Toothless not wanting to leave Hiccup, he smells the old saddle and Hiccup comforts him, saying it’s okay. He would have explained to astrid the reason why he made the new tail is not cause Toothless “never had a reason to leave”, it’s just cause Toothless is discovering a new side of him and Hiccup wants him to be happy
• the “third date” scene would be mostly be a platonic scene between the three furies, where Toothless learns to harness lightning • The difference would be the young male gets separated from them for a bit, chasing after some bird or something (he’s young and excitable, also a personality point for him) • You’d then get a smaller version of a romantic scene, but you can clearly see that after that wrong first impression the LF and Toothless do seem to like each other. Still would get the scene of them flying up into the moon and Toothless kissing her, and the “wing holding”. That was cute, and I like that scene, but the romance would still be comparatively secondary • The young male would interrupt the “hand holding”, and that’s where they’d find the hidden world. Male goes in excitedly and toothless hesitates but LF cheerfully drags him down after her brother
• The Hiccup side of it remains the same. They go after Grimmel, there’s an emphasis on all the anti-dragon humans banding together to take down berk. • Grimmel’s villain speech gets a flashback in which we get a scene more akin to the one of the first Dragons movie, there’s a slight discrepancy compared to Grimmel’s words. In the flashback, Grimmel -hesitates- before killing a wounded, sleeping night fury (it could even be faking its sleep, kinda like how Toothless just closed his eyes and waited for death, but that might be too much for a kid’s movie), but eventually does kill it • All the riders make it out of Grimmel’s trap.
• Hiccup and Astrid still go after Toothless • the Hidden World scene is expanded upon. We actually get two things that Hiccup sees: one (and this is optional but a personal headcanon of mine) being the LF siblings introducing Toothless to small, wary, scarred group of night furies (complete with Hiccup’s awe at finding more of them but also his realization that HUMANS did that to those dragons, they’re scarred and crippled because of them) • The other would be that Toothless doesn’t have the time to meet them properly, he gets distracted by squabble between two groups of wild dragons over food. Toothless instinctively uses his alpha command to take one of the groups to another feeding location, avoiding a fight. • The dragons recognize Toothless as a benevolent Alpha, and bow to him. It’s then that Astrid says that “now that’s a king” line.
• Hiccup chooses to leave Toothless there (the shock and pain of the Night Fury survivors being a factor of Hiccup deciding Toothless is better off without him, and besides, we’ve been building up on that “Toothless prefers his new friends over me” issue Hiccup is dealing with) • The whole rumblehorn thing happens and Toothless still brings Hiccup home, but Toothless isn’t angry or anything. The two light Furies do follow them. Seeing them actually only hardens Hiccup’s resolve, and he essentially kicks Toothless out, but he’s lashing out out of hurt, worry, rejection, and overall being overwhelmed by his duties as a Chief (namely the very large group of vikings bent on destroying Berk due to their philosophy) and his love and worry for Toothless • Toothless does leave, looking hurt but he does. • Astrid tries to comfort Hiccup again, but this time he just wants to be alone. Once she leaves, Hiccup mourns a little, but then he’s suddenly shot with one of Grimmel's darts. Astrid sees him be taken, but it’s too late to rescue him
• Hiccup wakes up in a ship of the armada his mother had seen on Cloudjumper, and is surprised in a very angry way to see Drago there (we hadn’t seen him since the moment he lashes at Grimmel for letting the Berkians get away– but he does so in a logical and tactical way) • Drago wants the location of the Hidden World – something he probably got from Grimmel who overheard it during the raid on his lair – and he plans to use Hiccup for it • Remember when Hiccup was called a devil in the beginning of the movie? This scene would get its payback here!! In a very clear parallel to Dragons 1, Drago would shackle Hiccup and sail east, and in a very Stoick-esque way, tells him to “lead the way, [to the nest], little devil” • Y'know like what happened to Toothless in HTTYD 1
• Cut to Toothless in the Hidden World. He’s looking at his tail, rather forlorn and lost • The Lightfury comes to see him, looking rather affectionate- they’re a couple, it seems. Toothless looks to her and then to behind him, where the other Light/Night furies (and some other dragons in the background) are waiting for him • Toothless isn’t ready yet. He licks the LF (think of a “I have to” kiss on the cheek Hiccup gave Astrid in HTTYD 2), and flies towards the waterfall and out of the hidden world, back to Hiccup.
• Drago is sailing towards the general direction of the hidden world, guided by the direction Toothless flew off before he captured Hiccup • Hiccup is unable to free himself, but then he (and the antagonists) is surprised to see that Berk is flying towards the armada to free him, en masse. All seem determined to defend the Hidden World’s entrance from Drago’s fleet • It’s a nice shout out to both HTTYD 1, where that small team fought the read death, but also to how the vikings have changed, how Hiccup has changed them. A small team has become a whole village. • no one can quite get to Hiccup tho, but then Drago is surprised to find Toothless there, looking very very angry • Grimmel still threatens someone Toothless loves, but it’s Hiccup this time. For a brief moment, Toothless controls the dragons away from the fight, so Hiccup isn’t killed. Toothless cannot let Hiccup die. He can’t. He loves him too much. • Drago and Grimmel however, are distracted long enough for Toothless to grab Hiccup and flee– not by humans but by the whole group of light and night furies. It seems as though Furies are a very territorial species, and act as protectors of the hidden world.
• Grimmel still grabs the LF, Toothless still follows him with Hiccup. The whole thing that went down in the movie happens here. Grimmel dies. Toothless is rescued by the young, excitable LF Male, while our girl, who has always been more distrustful of Hiccup, saves his life. She does smile crookedly at him, that very Toothless smile she learned from him.
• Drago is still out there, though. Hiccup, Toothless and the dragon gang regroup while most of Berk still fights. Hiccup is alive, but feels lost, he always wanted to prevent a war and now a war has happened anyway • This is where Astrid comes in again, and where she repeats that “what are you going to do about it” line • The gang goes after drago– and surprise: Hiccup is using the old saddle, but Toothless still wears the new tailfin, one last big fight for the two of them: this time, while they’re still connected, they’re able to fight apart from each other– maybe it’s here that we get that sword/explosion/look between Hiccup and Astrid. Toothless is flying on his own, and Hiccup is fighting on his own as well. By mutual choice this time, knowing how their differences don’t affect their devotion to each other • The furies fight alongside Hiccup, Toothless and the Berkians, showing the beauty of cooperation and mutual respect between humans and dragons that do decide to work together… As well as allowing Hiccup one big flight with Toothless and other night furies, as was his dream for his friend. • Drago is defeated, and the army scatters (how it’s up to you, I’m still fond of the jailed idea, except Drago falls under water and drowns, or something. Idk. For a man who’s so determined to control and dominate, dying in a cage designed to control and rip freedom away would be pretty good poetic justice, but idk.)
• Hiccup and Toothless still part ways. Hiccup’s speech isn’t really about how his dream wasn’t the dragons’ dream. Instead, much like the books, he says that Humanity isn’t quite ready to share the world with them, and that Toothless needs to take them away for their own safety (basically the same message of the movie but sans the weird “hiccup is clinging to toothless” subplot.) • That heart-wrenching scene still happens pretty much the same way.
• The ending is also very much the same, the babies and stuff. We’d probably see more light furies and one or two night furies on the other rocks surrounding the hidden world– they still act as protectors. • the ending goes very much the same way: I’d just tweak the words a little to explain that this isn’t just about hiding the hidden world’s secret (though you do see that in a way, Hiccup and Berk = the Furies’ role, all are guardians of the Hidden World, kinda binding them together even if they are away), but also about spreading the message that one day humans and dragons (wildlife?) can coexist someday, and when We’re ready, the Dragons will one day return.
— ……. Well that was long. I’ve been furiously typing on my phone for a good hour and a half actually. My fingers are dead but I just love this idea so much.
Also very much Not Revised so forgive any grammar/spelling mistakes!
Sorry for like. Making this way too big, Hiccup-is-left-handed. I got way too excited about it :’D

Hey can I get your thoughts on an ‘alternate feral Hiccup AU?’ In which Astrid was approx 120 secs late intercepting him and he and toothless seccuessfully fun away (to the west because see Grimmel’s logic in HTTYD3, so Berk sees them flee but they thought it was just a nightfury in the day, how strange) and goes off to live in the woods discovering more and more about dragons, like how Gronkles can process metal, or how whispering deaths can help you dig out a basement/cellar, and how (1/2)
Tumblr media
Well, first, I wouldn’t call it feral Hiccup so much as another runaway fic. Feral AUs already exist and Hiccup’s actually more feral in those, having been raised by dragons more or less. (I know Valka was taken at 20 but the feral comment is more a joke).
And I don’t know if you’ve ever seen my HTTYD Deviations page, but that scenario actually exists! (pff of course it does).
Though that was speculated upon before I ever saw HTTYD2, which changes some things.
One difference is I have Hiccup writing a note and leaving it for his father to find as he packs up (I’m pretty sure I had that going on in Hitchups?). It’s not confirmed or not if Hiccup ever wrote a note in canon, because up and leaving is both cruel and practical... and the sorta selfish thing Hiccup would do and regret later on. On one hand, there’s the possibility that they hunt him down, on the other hand, leaving his father to wait and worry and have to conclude (after SO much denial) that Hiccup’s dead is simply terrible. Plus, in the note, Hiccup could give them every reason to not search for him. That he’s chosen the dragons. That he’s betrayed Berk. Would it be better to live as a perceived traitor than cause unnecessary grief? It’s going to be painful either way.
So the idea that Berk believes he’s dead is a bit up in the air. UNLESS, he uses a note to say he was trying to tame a dragon he found in the cove before his big exam and if he doesn’t return then he died... and stages his death. Still kinda cruel but still gives some closure?
Especially if Astrid arrives just as Toothless is flying off. It’s a little hard for her to tell what she saw because she’s pretty sure there was a human too but... it might have been the sun... it looked like it was on the wrong side of the dragon...
And again, without the rush, all of what you said would likely come to pass, with Toothless giving his input to go west, and Hiccup’s slow discovery of different dragon species... plus some mishaps. Some funny. Some not. New scars abound. I still believe he’d sneak into society every now and then for coin, or supplies, or the odd job. He has a fast ticket out of anywhere should he get into trouble. And he makes sure he’s far, far away from Berk when he does this. Often wearing hoods or the like in case anyone recognizes him (he does have a history as an Heir who had to attend Things, after all). For the most part he
He’s definitely meeting his mother someday.
Which could lead to some juicy conflicts because Hiccup is adamant about doing something about the dragon Queen and stopping the war, and Valka believes in leaving the dragons to their nature and that Berk likes war. And Hiccup argues that they don’t, and that it doesn’t have to be that way, and the dragons are slaves...
I dunno, I just like the idea of Hiccup running into his mother after a couple years living in the dragon wild, spending a year or so with her, becoming more active in the fight against trappers, but eventually becoming restless enough that he wants to save Berk from the Nest.

The Last Dragon - 1
Welcome to my latest (and probably utterly ridiculous) AU idea. Let's cover the basics first. This is a Hiccstrid story, so expect fun and fluff, heartbreak and angst. Next, I don't know yet whether this is going to stay T-rated or might get upgraded later on. So just a fair warning that it might get upgraded. And one other thing here: I'm testing out a different way of writing a story. It's much compacter than what I usually write, little more than what I usually write as an outline. You've been warned.
So, on to the main point: The story! This is a 'The Last Unicorn' AU, featuring Hiccup as the last dragon. But to give this all-clear right away: There won't be any bestiality in this story! (If you know the original story then you can guess what happens anyway.)
So... yeah... I hope someone will like it... ^^"
. o O o .
Chapter 1 — where a dragon goes on a journey.
When the hunters left the forest, they didn’t notice the shadow incredulously watching them from behind the trees, drawn in by their voices.
He was the last, the hunters had said. The last Night Fury to roam this world. The last dragon at all. But that couldn't be… could it?
No… there had to be others! Surely they were just hiding from the humans that had become so numerous over the centuries, just like he was hiding too.
Hiccup cocked his black scaly head as his eyes followed the hunters out of his forest, internally laughing at their stupidity. Silly humans, what did they know about dragons? To them, his kind only existed in legends and fairy tales anymore, told around a campfire or to keep children from roaming the woods. Just because they hadn't seen any dragons in the better part of a century? Hah! That was ridiculous.
And yet, the thought refused to fade into oblivion. For days and weeks, Hiccup roamed his forest, just like he had done for all his life, chewing on what the hunters had said.
No more dragons? Was that possible?
After two more moons had passed, Hiccup made a decision. He would leave his forest, for the first time ever, and look for the other dragons. Maybe they had retreated into a far-away hidden land, away from the humans. Maybe they were living in hiding, afraid and cornered. Or maybe they were even captured, waiting for the one that could free them.
In the darkness of night, the Night Fury flew from one village to the other, disguising his appearance as that of a black dog to look for his brothers and sisters or to maybe overhear where they might be. It occurred to him that the humans wouldn't even know if dragons lived among them. If they were hiding their appearance like he was, letting the humans see something they expected to see, then it was no wonder those hunters had thought there were no dragons anymore. Untiring, he wandered on and on, searching the eyes of every animal he saw for that certain spark of intelligence. But there was nothing. Only real dogs, barely tamer than the feral wolves of his forest, cart ponies, and oxen. Once, he met a cat, certainly the most intelligent of all animals he'd seen on his journey so far. But all she could tell him was that he was supposed to ask the Sorcerer. Hiccup laughed at her, then wished her good luck with catching mice and left.
But after another week of fruitless searching, he returned to the cat. Asking her where he could find the Sorcerer could have been embarrassing, but of course, the cat had already forgotten that she'd talked to him before.
“The Sorcerer? The Sorcerer, the Sorcerer, out in the swamps he lives. But beware, beware, you might find more than you are looking for,” she purred in a light sing-song, then continued to lick her paws.
Hiccup was amused by the cat's concern, but he took her advice. It took him three days, searching the vast swampland to the east until he found the odd building, half built onto a tree and covered with moss. To its side, a campfire was burning and a funny-looking old man leant over a book on a table.
“Now, now, big boy,” the funny old man said when Hiccup approached him. “What is a pretty beast like you doing out here in this no man's land?” He patted Hiccup’s head, clearly seeing nothing but the dog disguise.
Hiccup was disappointed. Was this the Sorcerer he’d been looking for? The one who was supposed to be able to help him? This doddery old man wasn’t even able to see him. Apparently, the cat had been stupid after all.
“Father? I’m back. I got the two rabbits you asked for, and even a deer in addition.”
Hiccup and the old man turned their heads into the direction of the voice. There was another human, a girl, carrying a dead deer over her back, a bow slung over her shoulder, and a quiver from which two rabbits hung was attached to her waist.
“Oh, that’ll last us a few days. Or… ah… maybe not. But look, Astrid, we have company. Would you mind getting him a bone and maybe some leftover meat from last night?”
The girl cocked her head and blinked, her long blond braid falling over her shoulder, but didn’t react otherwise and did as her father had told her. Hiccup’s mood fell even further. These humans were just as stupid as all the others he’d met, and certainly not able to help him. Grumbling, he tore into the roasted meat the girl had brought him. He gladly took the food, but would leave right after. The other dragons had to be somewhere!
“This tastes good, doesn’t it?” the girl murmured as she watched him eat. She reached out to pat his head as well, even scratched him behind his ear flaps. That actually felt good, and with a low rumbling deep inside his body, Hiccup leaned into her touch. She chuckled, and let her hand move on, over his neck, around the ridges on his back, and--
“These are really beautiful!” she said, awe filling her voice as her hand glided along his wing.
Wait, what?
Hiccup practically jumped away from her, staring in a bit of a shock, but the girl only chuckled.
“Did you think I couldn’t see what you are?” she asked, mirth gleaming in her eyes. They were blue, he noticed now, like the sky.
[You can see me?] He hadn’t meant for his thoughts to project into her mind, but she nodded in response anyway.
“Yeah, I’m not easily tricked by any magic,” she said, sounding as if there was more behind those words than just a simple statement. “Unlike my father over there. His magic is woven so deeply into his being that he hardly ever can tell reality and magic apart. What does he think you are?”
Bemused, Hiccup projected the picture of a large dog into her mind, making her chuckle again.
“I see. No wonder he instantly wanted to feed you. He adores dogs.”
[Aren’t you afraid of me?] he asked, a little hesitantly. He might not be the biggest of dragons, but he was still big enough to eat her in one meal if he had to. And from what he remembered of his long life in his forest, humans didn’t tend to react well when they saw his true form.
“Should I?” she asked, laughing at her own words and shook her head. “No, I’m not afraid of you. You haven’t eaten us when you had the chance, so I guess you won’t do it now either after we fed you.”
Making a strange snorting sound, Hiccup had to agree with her logic.
“Anyway... I assume there’s a reason you came out here? If you need Father’s magic or advice for whatever reason, then I suggest you wait until he finished his calibrations. He won’t listen to or look at anything else until he’s done. How about you tell me what brought you here instead? I’m curious, you know?” She settled against his side, expectantly looking up.
Hiccup was reluctant at first, not exactly used to talk to anyone. But he had to admit that he was a little fascinated by this courageous girl. Astrid. So, in lack of anything else to do and with renewed hope that these humans might be able to help him after all, he spent the better part of an hour answering her questions. It felt strange to do so but also oddly soothing, sharing his concerns.
Once he was done explaining that he was looking for the other dragons and hoped the Sorcerer could help him, Astrid nodded.
“Yes, I think you did right in coming here. We haven’t seen any dragons in ages either, but somehow, I feel like Father might know something after all.”
Making the old man understand was amusing. It took Astrid quite a while to convince her father that the occasional image of the night-black dragon was actually the truth and not just his wishful thinking. But once the Sorcerer had understood, there was no further delay.
“Oh, for all the lost chicken tows!” he muttered, awe filling his eyes as he finally accepted the truth. “I can hardly believe it. I hadn’t thought to ever see a living dragon again in my life. I thought he had them all.”
At that, Hiccup perked up. [Who has them all?] he asked eagerly, projecting his question for all around him to hear. [Do you know where the other dragons are? Tell me, old man, I need to know!]
So the Sorcerer told him. He told him of Grimmel the Grisly, a dark magician, how he’d, long ago, made it his goal in life to capture and own all dragons. “I and the others of our order tried to stop him, of course,” the Sorcerer said. “But by the time we were ready to face him, he already had quite a number of them captured. You see, he draws power from them. They are all in a cave beneath his castle, bound by a magical crystal that feeds on their strength. Lucky for us, he is content with enjoying his collection and has no desire to conquer the world with his powers.”
[So they really are captured? And nobody ever tried to free them?] There was a spark of anger in Hiccup, confusing him. He wasn’t used to such strong emotions.
“Of course we tried!” the Sorcerer defended himself. “But Grimmel had grown too strong, and we were unable to stand against him. He killed us, one after the other, and by now, I am the last of my order. Just like you are the last of the dragons.”
That silenced Hiccup. [Forgive me. I am sorry you had to pay such a high price for a fight that shouldn’t have been yours.]
The Sorcerer accepted his words, but the girl, Astrid, didn’t seem to be appeased.
“So that’s it?” she exclaimed. “We’re just going to leave it like that, with the dragons captured and that man holding nigh-on-infinite power? What if he learns that there is a dragon missing from his collection? Or what if he decides that he wants to be the only living Magician?”
Her concerns were valid, of course, but then Hiccup hadn’t intended to just let the matter drop anyway. In short order, they decided that they had to try and free the dragons. They didn’t have much of a plan yet, but the Sorcerer was confident that, with the help of a dragon himself, a Night Fury no less, they at least had a chance. Because Night Furies, as every child knew from the old stories, were the strongest and deadliest of all dragons, their princes and kings. He still would probably only be able to hold against Grimmel for a little while. But maybe, ‘a little while’ would be all they needed.
. o O o .
So, that was that. I’m really curious about what you might think about this. So... yeah... Feedback is highly welcome! :D

Thought I would jot down my AU ideas.
So totally separate from ROTBTD, I thought of some ideas for Grimmel's childhood that I thought were really sweet.
I imagined he had a sweet dad that gave him the motivation and discipline Grimmel needed to succeed but the tenderness and support he needed in such a dangerous, scary world. He also had a sister who he loved very dearly and a mom I didn't give much detail, but she's great too. It was the loss of his father during a dragon attack that made Grimmel want to go leave home and become a great warrior even more.
I think even as a teen, Grimmel would still aspire to be great, and therefore not be too bad at fighting. Idk, either way his dad would train with him to give him more experience. It seems cliche for all protagonists to not fit any mold and be bad at everything, so become their own brand of awesome. I think Grimmel could just become a trapper out the gate bc it's cool and become a natural at it.
I knew Grimmel even as a teen would have a sense of humor and confidence but in most of my mental images, he looks like me: sad, quiet, and anxious for the future. He could be a combination of both. I hate the idea of making all young people too serious or worrisome. It just isn't Grimmel.

HTTYD OC Bio
AU: How to Train Your Dragon
Name: Kelda
Aliases: Kelda the Wild/The Skrill Princess
Species: Human
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Weapon of choice: Bow and arrow
Occupation: (formerly) Dragon Hunter
Dragons: Valkerye (mother), Thundertosser and Lightsprinter (sons)
Youth and Hunting Career
Born and raised among hunters, grit and violence was all Kelda knew. As expected of a hunter, Kelda was trained and became proficient in the trade, and became well known among her guild family as one of the best trackers in the southern hemisphere. While Kelda’s training taught her every nook and cranny of what it meant to become a hunter, she hesitated in the act of actually killing dragons, and instead left the final act to her guild mates. Despite this, she hid her discomfort quite well, and did as she needed to hide her feelings.
It wasn’t until she turned 21 when her guild hit exceptionally tough times, that she was sent out on a hunt to track down and kill a Skrill. With her brother missing after leaving on a quest, and many of the elder hunters in her guild now too weak to travel, a vote concluded that Kelda was to be sent to the village in need to rid them of a Skrill dragon. Reluctantly, Kelda agreed and set off on her assignment, and would eventually find the Skrill already caught in a trap stuck in the beaches waves on the east coast of the village’s isle. Due to the importance of her quest, Kelda considered killing the dragon in the trap and take it to the village to claim as her own to collect the very much needed bounty, but ultimately, she would feel great pity for the creature and instead opt to free it, which resulted in the Skrill hurting her in attempt to escape after the locks of the trap were freed. The Skrill would fly off, and she would return to the village to treat her wound and to rest, contemplating her situation and her disdain of what was expected of her by her guild. It was at this time that she would run into the newly famed hunter Grimmel the Grisly, who was at the time in his prime years as a hunter, and using the Skrill as a means of challenging himself. Kelda would find out that the trap she found the Skrill in was actually Grimmel’s, and would have a confrontation with the famed hunter of her tampering with the trap and letting the dragon get away. She was able, nonetheless, to hide the fact she merely freed the dragon out of pity, and instead let it go as a means of an honorable hunt, as she claimed killing the dragon in another hunters trap would have been too easy, and unethical. Grimmel, amused of Kelda’s claim, would make a bet, and allow her a week’s hunt ahead of him to catch the Skrill on her own, but would then say he would make the kill himself if she did not do so by that time. Kelda would accept, and set out the next morning.
During her time following the Skrill, Kelda would see that the dragon remembered the deed she had done helping free the creature from Grimmel’s trap, and as a result the dragon grew a rather distant curiosity for Kelda. Over the course of the week, the dragon and Kelda watched each other, and participated in menial tasks such as gathering fish for food, starting campfires, etc. and eventually the two would develop a new trust with each other. Eventually, Kelda would reveal what Grimmel had told her, and warned the dragon to get away from the island, as she did not want to hurt her, nor did Kelda want Grimmel to be the one to kill her either. It was here that the dragon allowed Kelda to fly with her, and reached a high and hidden summit where she revealed she had two dragon eggs, and that Grimmel had been here a while and actually killed the father dragon already. Realizing that the dragon could not leave her babies here alone, Kelda agreed to keep Grimmel busy, and hide the whereabouts of the nest. As a gift the dragon gave her one of her purple scales, which Kelda would fashion into a necklace and wear underneath her armor. Despite her best efforts, however, the mother dragon would die at the hands of Grimmel.
Post Hunting Career
Kelda would receive a new duty—protect the baby dragon eggs and raise them, away from hunters, and away from Grimmel. Years later after their hatching, and eventual growth into adult dragons, her name had become synonymous with an obstacle among hunters, as by aligning herself with the Skrill dragons, she became a traitor to the trade. Nonetheless, her leap from being a huntress to becoming kin to the Skrill created her a new persona; she was known throughout the southern hunting posts as The Skrill Princess, and her title throughout hunter population was Kelda the Wild.
Eventually, many years later with her baby dragons now grown, Kelda’s travels would eventually take her to Berk, where she would find a safe haven for her two dragons to live in peace and without having to be constantly on the move. The events of The Hidden World would then take place, as she would find Grimmel close behind, and threatening her efforts once again, but this time she wouldn’t be fighting alone.
Personality and Traits
Due to her upbringing in a hunter’s guild, Kelda’s personality was that of toughness and perseverance. While this was true even outside the hunter population, Kelda was eventually able to let her true personality show when she was with her dragons, showing that she had deep compassion, understanding, and wisdom, and overall a big heart. Kelda showed emotion quite openly, anger being one of her highlights; this was probably due to the fact that she was forced to hide her emotions for so many years as a hunter. She would not hide her irritability from others like Grimmel, who would constantly attempt to belittle her in seeing her show her true colors, and would fight furiously to protect her dragons. In comparing the two, while Grimmel was cold and calculating, Kelda was hot tempered and passionate.
Kelda was very well versed in that of tracking, capturing/trap setup/disassembly, and combat, tracking being one of her strongest abilities. Her tracking abilities was what helped her avoid other hunters for so long, as the need to keep her baby dragons safe was her top priority for the first few years after leaving the trade. To other humans, she was perceived as being a loner, as she only spent her time with her two dragons, and she was constantly on the move, never being in one place for too long. But despite being away from human societies, she was never really lonely, as her companion dragons constantly reminded her cause.
