hello, i'm equinox. i'm a multiply disabled mixed black trans lesbian. i deal with schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder, hypermobile ehlers danlos, degenerative disc disease, 2 unhealed injuries, and gastrointestinal issues. i am currently applying for disability, i got off the phone with disability determination earlier today. i have multiple appointments with GI specialists coming up very soon. i need help with income in the mean time. i currently have no other income aside from this. i am in need of transportation to appointments, i also need to get to my pharmacy to get my meds, groceries, cleaning and hygiene supplies, and more.

i'm currently saving up money for a procedure being done at the end of the month. i am having a colonoscopy and they are having me purchase gatorade and mirilax, instead of prescribing me something that's more effective. i also need to save for rent, which is $178/month in my place due to my low income.

Let's talk about hair loss...

I am not sure which of my illnesses is causing it-- I think POTS might be the issue because of poor blood circulation.

So, I bought minoxidle for the purpose of review!

Minoxidle is the active infredient in Rogain. It is a vasodiolator. It can treat high blood pressure in its oral form. When applied topically it can treat certain types of baldness.

I tried the Hers product that contains Minoxidil. I tried it for about a week to see if it helped my medical-related hair loss. I just picked it up at CVS.

I had to stop using it because it made my POTS symptoms worse. Why? Because minoxidil--as a vasodilator used to treat high blood pressure-- interacted with my POTS medications and made me feel sick.

I have hypovolemic POTS, the last thing I need is for my blood vessels to dilate and my blood pressure to go any lower.

It's complicated because I am pretty sure that my hair loss, dry eyes, dry skin, dry everything-- is caused by my dysautonomic condition. But it could also be caused by my medications.

And also minoxidil is not made for hair loss related to prescription medicine use.

So, in the coming months, I will look for supplements and hair oils to review.

I would call hair loss a quality of life issue, just because of the distress it can cause by significantly changing how you look-- especially if it's changes you don't wish to have or changes that are premature.

Hair loss and thinning are expected as you age. But I am not really there yet, so I want to do all I can to keep the hair I have.

Anyway! I am behind on posting! I have so much I want to talk about.

This is an evolving process, but I really want this blog to be a place where I can openly share my insights into how I shop and survive financially as a disabled artist. I am surviving, but I do have a feeling I can do more than that with the help of the right products-- and on my way there, I can help other people consider their options when it comes to the consumer side of things.

and this is my third line of work, hopefully, a way to get the word out about disability advocacy in the arts and point anyone interested in the direction of my art so that y'all can buy it or at least subscribe to the places where I write and share my thoughts.

I like every character for different reasons but like, emotionally, Mithrun stood out to me in a way.

At first glance, he appeared to be the angsty pretty character sunken deep into tragedy and vengeance, but that changed when we saw more of him.

After his identity and basic abilities were stripped away, his body and mind betrayed him, but he survived. Just… look at him when he just left his dungeon, he was skin and bones, covered by wounds from self-destruction, barely functioning, but he managed to train himself up, physically and magically more powerful than ever, went back to Canaries and became a captain who is respected even by Cithis.

Kabru’s talk was his last one step to a new stage of life, still, without all the hard work and companionships he previously built with his teammates and families, he would vanish in a pit of despair long ago. When Milsiril found him in front of the broken mirror, when Kabru asked him to search deeper with him, when Senshi gave him that piece of advice, he allowed the sparkle of life to flow back within, eventually, his beauty came out of ashes like freaking Deadpool.

Mithrun proved that leftovers can still be brew into a nice warm soup.

Disability Pride Puppies!!

I’ve been sitting on these for a while because I was waiting on getting a debossing tool for my cutting machine (to add texture to the blind puppy sticker) (it was expensive and I am poor, hence the wait) and it finally arrived! I have to do a little experimenting with the settings before the blind puppy stickers will be available, but the rest are ready now! I am hoping to have the blind puppy sticker available next week :)
