✦ Frost & Fire ✦

. . . F.I.N.A.L.L.Y. after what feels like 30 years, I've finished this piece. I kid you not when I say I made the base sketch back in September 2022. It went through so many changes, loops, postponing, and adjustments, that I genuinely only finalized it this morning. My primary intention was to play with opposites [cold / warm, soft / rugged, serene / fiery] and, which I only realized now, the final version being a full-on mixed media project [I made the sketch and lineart traditionally and colors + decorations digitally] fits in with that just perfectly. I'm not sure how to feel about the outcome. There are things I like, such as the quality of the lineart and the color contrasts. However, I also spot my good old weaknesses such as lacking anatomy, stiffness, and a hampering fear of rendering. One thing I definitely learned while working on this though, was to focus on finishing a project before I move on to the next. Fingers crossed I'll be able to keep up with that. 🤞

cursed construction core hi vis bra that came to me in a dream

In the dream I saw it in the window display of a hardware/DIY/trade shop, implying it was meant to be a practical garment designed for actual female constructions workers in a Female Armour level missed-the-brief attempt at gender inclusion

The practical support from the visible underwire combined with the hi vis implying it’s not meant to be worn as an undergarment, I just-

I blame my binge-reading ND Stevenson’s gender comics talking abt masculinity and femininity incl the one abt Victoria’s Secret lingerie yesterday for this monstrosity x’D
