A collection of portraits depicting the voices from Slay the Princess, taking inspiration from the style of the video game Disco Elysium! The Voice of the Hero, a knight, an iconic silhouette against a luminant halo. A color palette of black, blue, and teal.

The Voice of the Hunted, a beast trying to protect its heart from danger, represented here as a crosshair.

The Voice of the Smitten, the knife wound letting loose lovely streams of swirling bodily juices into the air.

The Voice of the Cold, dark, and angular. Something completely unafraid to kill.

The Voice of the Skeptic, attempting to fly, tearing himself away from chains and what looks like his own body.

The Voice of the Paranoid, Frantic and multi-eyed, clutching at a wound.

The Voice of the Contrarian, flying in stark contrast to the others, glowing instead of secluded, a mischievous fairy or will o' the wisp, instead of a grotesque figure.

The Voice of the Broken, shattered and leaking. A humanoid figure is no longer recognizable.

The Voice of the Stubborn, Fiery eyes, and big meaty claws. The brushwork is chaotic.

The Voice of the Cheated, smoke leaking from puncture wounds still embedded within him. He's holding a cigar, too; probably where all the smoke is coming from.

The Voice of the Opportunist, carrying multiple masks on his person, and wielding a poorly concealed knife.

And finally (for now) The Long Quiet itself, the night sky, swirling sigils blurred in the dark.

I love this, I love him, Omg this version of Eclipse is spectacular. Dear gods and I love the personality thus far. Holy cow great job on this. I have to share.

Meet Paradox (aka Dox)!!

Paradox is an Eclipse variant, the only one who exists in his AU, and was made to run the Superstar Daycare! Playing and taking care of the kids daily is his most beloved thing to do, and he enjoys it thoroughly!

However, when it comes to adults, he doesn't take too kindly to them due to past experiences. Nicer adults receive the more arrogant, full-of-himself, snarky side of his personality, while those that are rude or call him names are given day-ruining levels of tricks and pranks.

(The Y/N in his AU was hired to be a Daycare Assistant and Handler due to his issues with adults and causing way too many complaints. So their job is a bit of a last ditch effort on the company's part lest they bite the bullet and decommission him for good for all the issues he's been causing more and more over time.)

Each day Paradox is filled with joy entertaining the kids and each night is filled with emptiness and just another reason to hate adults as he patrols the Pizzaplex as night-time security.

Deep underneath all of that hatred, there is his 'true' side. The soft, kind, sweet, playful, loving side that only the kids get to see. The one he'd much prefer to treat adults with if they weren't showing him time and time again why he can't.

If you're an adult trying to get close, treat him kindly, get past his near-constant degrading (you're gonna get called pathetic at one point or another), and show genuine love and care towards the kids he cherishes dearly and with time he may just lower his walls and show that side of him he'd much rather be.

it's so frustrating they don't take the necropolis as an opportunity to explore spirits with more depth in veilguard. or even Manfred's whole thing. Manfred being able to learn to speak implies that any wisp is capable of it with time. they have preferences and emotions and comprehend speech but you still shouldn't be concerned that they are used for slave labour in the necropolis. you're supposed to be horrified that Hezenkoss is abusing spirits but not at that. engaging with spirits as people introduces too much nuance to the situation and veilguard is absolutely incapable of dealing with it. otherwise they'd have to engage with why Solas wants to tear the veil down

Alright folks, it actively saddens me that it’s been so long since I wrote a long form analysis on here so a) I’m going to try and get some mores asks answered soon (I promise) and b) I’m going to list the titles of posts that I have either half-written of have plans for and ask y’all to pretty please cast your vote for which one gets posted first - and I’m sure to get around to all of them eventually, but they may end up cropping up in another poll in the future before that happens
