Edith’s breath is a remembered thing, a physical presence, because it is catching in her throat.

“Now,�� Charlie says, fingers curling around Edith’s jaw, “You like taking me apart. So let me put you back together.”

Then Charlie kisses Edwin’s cheek, and her mouth, and her jaw, and her neck, as she pushes Edith up against the desk, and Edith’s heart is shuddering, thundering, in her chest, a storm brewing inside of her, a quake shaking the earth.

Jk but it's so fun when his bird traits cross into his human form, I don't care if it's a human au or something. You can take the boy out of the crow but never the crow out of the boy.

And if you did not know, birds cannot and should not eat bread or milk. If you wish to feed the crows (or ravens or ducks but never seagulls), stick to various seeds and fruits.

The only time in Monty’s entire life that he’s done something without thinking it through first was the moment he leapt into a storm to grab a key to free Charles Rowland from the iron collar dragging him down.

And yet, Monty can't stop himself. He moves. He lunges in, pulling Edwin in by the collar of his jacket, and kisses him, kisses his Captain, kisses the moon, kisses Charles' sea god, kisses a boy who is kind and clever and achingly lovely. Edwin kisses right back, bestowing starlight, hands going to Monty's waist, freeing Monty's hands to rise to the back of Edwin's hair, desperate, wanting, alive, free.
