Nothing, just thinking abt how beautifully Jesper's gambling addiction was written in the books. It's not treated as a laughing stock, or some kind of joke, it's actually a serious issue that Jesper struggles controlling internally. Moreover, Jesper does feel some form of guilt over his actions and recognizes the impacts they have upon his loved ones and does try to change for the better.

We don’t talk about chapter 41 of Six of Crows enough y’all. Nina killing the Heartrender and blessing him to be free???? Matthias getting shot by Drüskelle and Nina saving him with parem and him running his fingers over “where a bullet wound should be” in his chest???? The sense he has that he was supposed to die???? The parallels drawn between Nina’s memories of getting drunk with Nestor at the coronation and Matthias’ memories of drinking too much with Klaus???? “The were monsters, he knew it, but boys as well. Boys like him”???? As if there wasn’t already enough foreshadowing in this chapter then you get “you know they would not offer you mercy, Mattias” “I know” just twisting the damn knife???? The descriptions of Nina omg???? The fucking testament to Matthias’ early stages of growth???? “We are all someone’s monster”????

Also the most likely unintentional poetry of the moment Matthias was “supposed” to die being one chapter number later than he lives in Crooked Kingdom????

as someone who suffered Greatly bc of disordered eating back in my teens, Nina being absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she likes to eat and the dregs not giving her shit about it is something that I appreciate a lot about the books
