The Lunar Chronicles fandom likes to talk about Cress and Wolf's friendship, and Cress and Jacin's friendship, but have you considered two platonic pairings with significantly less interactions: Cress and Kai, Cress and Torin

Cress and Kai were on the Rampion together for however long he was kidnapped. During the set up for the final battle in Winter, Cress is separated from Thorne and is lost and alone in the Lunar palace. Then she runs into Kai and just immediately hugs him and starts crying. Kai is then late to his own "coronation" to help Cress break in to the tech room. He also gives her his portscreen, his only connection to the outside world.

And Torin gave this small crying teenager his suit jacket just because she needed a pocket to put her gun in. He shows up to a literal coronation, the most formal occasion possible, without his jacket. He also barely bats an eye when Cress has a gun in the first place, (which would be a massive security threat) probably because she clearly doesn't want to use it
