Interviewer: "What made you want to start work--like, become an ally to the community? What prompted you to say, 'Do you know what, this injustice has gone on long enough?'" David: "Erm...when I was, erm...[choking up] Oh, dear. No, it's fine. It's good. It's good. It's important. When I was a teenager, there was this thing that the, Mrs. Thatcher's government introduced called Section 28, which was about stopping the promotion of homosexuality in schools. Which was a weird umbrella term which was basically saying it was illegal to talk about being gay in school or to suggest that might be a normal way of behaving. We look back on that now as a medieval, absurd thing to try and say, and I think the way the trans community is being demonized and othered is exactly the same."

This was incredibly powerful to listen to, and seems to tie in with what we've talked about previously, that David becoming so vocal about the LGBTQ (and especially trans) community is not just about his child being nonbinary. The emotion he displayed here was so raw, and I'm so glad he had the opportunity to speak about this on the show...

I'll be missing the live wrap-up but i wanted to say it's been disheartening but sadly unsurprising the way a lot of people who started with Campaign 3 talk about Marisha and Laura especially. It feels as though they see them as little more than vessels to provide Laudna and Imogen content. They get outright mad when people ask them questions in the AMA Firesides or 4SD about their jobs in Critical Role as a company, or other characters they've played, or their personal feelings about things they enjoy. A lot of them hate the Cobalt Soul despite Marisha explicitly and repeatedly saying it's incredibly meaningful to her, and are vocal about this, but will attack you if you say you're not a big fan of Laudna. Their approach to Keyleth feels like little more than a convenient opportunity for them to say "you can't ever criticize Marisha! Look at the harassment she received" but they'll then direct this claim towards anyone, even people who watched C1 live and experienced that in real-time and opposed it. They'll engage in harassment themselves and claim it's in defense of Marisha, then turn around and shit talk the Cobalt Soul and yell about how the Ashari are evil Ruidusborn haters and Beauyasha is boring.

And to be clear I have a longstanding and documented history of disliking obnoxiously parasocial behavior or invasive/repetitive/overly generic panel questions. I think, and I mean this genuinely, that it's completely fine and reasonable to be a CR fan who is here for characters only, and isn't interested in the cast. Indeed, I think a lot of early fans of the show were mostly here for the story of Vox Machina, and I respect the people who didn't connect to the Mighty Nein nor have an attachment to the cast and politely stepped away. I am not demanding everyone love every piece of merch nor every creative direction choice lest they disrespect Laura or Marisha; that is not how this works. But there's a difference between "I'm not really interested in anything but Keyleth, so I'm only tuning in to TLOVM chats!" vs this entitled distaste, verging on disgust, among a certain set of C3 fans when Marisha and Laura especially spend even a minute of their out-of-character time talking about anything other than Laudna and Imogen. If you do this, you cede the right to any "they're having fun/it's meaningful or comforting or makes them happy" defense (which, to be clear, I do not think is a valid argument with regards to the quality of a story, but which a lot of these people hypocritically invoke) or "if you dislike this female character or F/F ship you're a bigoted person," especially when you resent the actual real-world women behind your pretend characters for choosing to answer a question about anything other than what you personally care about.

And ultimately, I think that if you are dismissive and resentful towards the bulk of what the cast/company does (this includes when you turn this resentment towards fans for daring to ask questions about anything else, even in places that aren't at all C3-specific like panels or cast fireside AMAs, or places where the crew or the cast themselves are the ones actually choosing which questions are answered), it is childish and embarrassing to then act like you are being wronged and your opinions cruelly disregarded simply because something of which you only like one small facet fails to cater to you. You don't have to like it; but you showed up to part 3 of a trilogy and got mad that the creators sometimes talk about parts 1 and 2.

I tried to watch avengers assemble (the animated series). At first I wanted to watch it for Black Widow but I'm so disappointed and angry at it. She's an avenger, one of the first one actually, she built the team with Fury and Coulson but as always, it's a male only show : all the characters are exclusively male, and sometimes for a few seconds, when they need a damsel in distress, there is a woman screaming or she finally appears! Only to be there for at most 2 minutes in the whole episode (25 minutes) and only maybe 2 or 3 episodes. Even the new guy who is not an avenger yet but is becoming one get more screen time and line and everything actually than her an actual avenger.

This is infuriating! Not just about her character lack of screen time, she often doesn't talk either, just appearance time to time, she is so invisible and reduce as a poor damsel in distress.

I'm so so so sick of this !!! Of this male only society, the entire planet is already practicing separatism, everything is male only. And if you dare create one female character even if she has one second of time screen then all the trash are screaming and crying that they are erased and replaced by those *Misogynistic insult*. It is truly sickening to live in a world where you are not supposed to even exist but your people is the one creating the entire humanity.

I crave to have shows where there is not a single male in it !! But if you dare say so, you're a terrorist blablabla. The entire world is already like this and it doesn't bother anyone! But when it's about the invisible humanity, females, then it's an outrage to the world ??? Having female representation is categorised as hatred or hate speech. 💀

The entire society is applying DARVO on us, this is gaslight, this is manipulation. We are not the one who genocide half the humanity that birthed us just because they exist. Male are. Every media, every movie, every song they create is built on their hate towards us, every thing they do is created only to full their hate speech Agenda.

The only few shows dominantly with females characters are the Barbies ones, the animated movies.

In all the Disney etc movies, the ''princess'' or female lead doesn't have any female friends, her only possible friends are all male. (Except some rare exceptions)

In the 101 Dalmatians, the only female one is only there because they needed a mother role to birth all of them !! That's her only purpose 💀

In the aristocats, the strays one should be all females, the male one are very similar to the humans too, the female too, they tend to bond and to live together with their kittens and the male are excluded. The adult males don't bond they fight eachother, they kill eachother. So a made up family of Stray cats can only exists if they are all females.

Same in the Lion King, the male are excluded and not the leader or king of anything. The lionesses are the Queens.

Female friendship or sisterhood is inexistant unless it's for serving the sole purpose of misogynistic agents like peak me etc.

in which rhys was a technician scientist back in the 90s who oversaw testing! participated in a 'cryogenic sleep testing group', and didn't wake up with any of his co-workers. awoken years and years later and sought the help of an abandoned android. teaming together to try and get the fuck OUT of aperture science

sun & moon were created to babysit aperture science employees children, but when budget cuts happened they got whipped into the testing facilities. didn't bother separating them, and also didn't bother giving moon any testing protocols.

they got left abandoned inside the testing facilities, eventually making their way out but spent years alone. as most of the employees either mysteriously died or are also stuck inside the cryogenic sleep testing group.

anyways i'm using this as an excuse to draw that sweet sick portal gun, and make the gays talk about their damn feelings.

The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is reaffirming its calls for the federal government to recognize First Nations jurisdiction over policing.

Chiefs from across Canada are meeting in Montreal this week for the AFN's annual general assembly.

On Wednesday, the chiefs in attendance adopted a resolution calling for Public Safety Canada to introduce federal legislation that recognizes "First Nations inherent, treaty and constitutional rights" over policing. The resolution was adopted with one opposition and one abstention.

Ghislain Picard, regional chief for Quebec-Labrador who holds the AFN portfolio on justice and policing, said the resolution reaffirms previous positions by the chiefs.

"The resolution will serve as a reminder of the positions that we have to acknowledge, respect and deliver in the face of what I would call opposition from all levels of government," he told the assembly.
