Guys I was just thinking about how they should have to put the entire 118 into witness protection at some point. PLEASE.

- Buck and Eddie decide their new identities are married. No one asked them to do this, it actually makes it more complicated for the scheme but also no one is surprised.

- Chim works at a vet and he has a really grumpy old cat that is his enemy. Also he keeps trying to call 911 at every point because he misses Maddie.

- Hen is works at a computer company which she originally hated, but then Karen coded a way for them to communicate with an encrypted homemade software thing.

- Buck and Eddie work in an ice cream van. The local queer kids love to come by and talk to them and Buck and Eddie, still completely oblivious, just think they're being like really good allies.

- Bobby was originally a chef but then he started to become somewhat of a local celebrity and this threatened to blow his cover... (Also he does not attempt to contact Athena because she would NOT find it amusing).

Actually this whole ordeal only lasts a day. Because they all end up blowing their cover, because Buck and Eddie go tiktok viral for Eddie's rants about Hildy, the local 911 dispatch centre get really confused and keep sending police to the vet, Hen is fired too fast and tries to smuggle a computer with a strange virus out with her, and Bobby starts getting book deals. All in a day.

Ravi was fine. But he has to be removed with them.

So the 118 are just kept in a safe house for the foreseeable future, but it's okay because Maddie, Karen, Athena (and weirdly Chris) have managed to solve the crime and such (I'll leave the copaganda story to the writers), so they can all go home.

Buck and Eddie lovingly and quickly decide they 'can't be bothered' to get unmarried due to all the paperwork, and no one has the heart to tell them it wasn't real in the first place.

Small B99 rant. Spoiler for season 6

I've rewatched the series so many times, but every time I watch it, I can't help but be a little pissed off. I get that Holt wanted to open the email to find out if he was the commissioner with the squad but it pisses me off that Kevin wasn't there. He made so many sacrifices, watched his husband be discriminated against, and then isn't even there for the big moment when Holt finds out whether he got the job or not. I'm probably over thinking it but it pisses me off.

ESCAPING INTO A SHIP

So what exactly made me latch onto the Sydcarmy ship like a leech on a water buffalo?

It was unexpected (for me)! Yes, the very first meeting between Syd and Carm did make an impact. I thought "Oooh, what's this?!" However, Carmy was/is such a mess that I quickly dismissed it. And Sydney just seemed to want his professional approval and a partner in making something great after the soul-crushing failure of Sheridan. So, the first season I personally didn't feel a mutual sexual/romantic tension, more like an automatic respect and shared goals/passions. Sydney nor Carm were obviously trying to flirt. Most slow burns on TV are 100% obvious like a Jeanine and Gregory (Abbott Elementary), Nick and Jess (New Girl), Jake and Amy (Brooklyn 99), Jim and Pam (The Office)...Until Braciole Ep. 8 that is.

S. 1 Episode 8- I won't get into everything but Carmy was desolate. Yes, he became a psycho chef and two people quit in Ep.7. However, he mourned Sydney more than Marcus. She was in his flashback/nightmare (?), then the way he told Tina that she looked like Syd (the poor pup), him texting her before opening the note from Mikey, and finally the most gorgeous locked gaze scene since Pride and Prejudice (2005). The soft lighting, the music, the colors, the mind-reading...magical. I still didn't get it initially. Silly, blind me.

Mentorship where??? Season 2 Carm and Syd's "mentorship" dynamic is pretty much over. They are true partners and spending more time together. They're dressing alike even when not in uniform, finishing each other's sentences or talking in unison. Sydney is opening up more of herself and Carm is asking to know more. They use the ASL sign for sorry with each other and no one else until ep 10. Then there's that locker scene in ep. 1 or 2, when they almost hang out just cause. However, Carmy misses the moment and there's the return of the kicked pup face. Before being on the ship I was delighted with all of their scenes and was looking forward to the food tour. They just ROCK together on screen.

Classic Love Triangle- Who's Claire? She's "Claire Bear", the prototypical "cool girl", who is willing to chase an socially awkward, wrong-number-giving man, despite being a pretty ER resident with no shortage of options. Did a CW writer get hired? Anyways, why was her presence used almost exclusively to put strain on Carmy and Sydney's relationship instead of The Bear generally? We could have had scenes with Nat, Richie, and Marcus arguing with Carmy about him being distracted due to Claire. They saved 99% of that for Sydney. They CHOSE to insert her in between or just after scenes with him and Claire. Showing Sydney's tattoos and her getting dressed with the stained chef's coat juxtaposed with them was WILD.

I LOVE that both believe their interpersonal problems are solely about The Bear/business partnership. In most "slowburns" the characters are far more conscious and actively work to keep things platonic. Jeremy might be a smidge aware that Sydney means more to him after the panic attack, but I bet he's shoved it down. All he knows afterward is that being with Claire feels wrong hence ignoring her call and recommitting to SYDNEY. He could of said "You all/This/The Bear deserve my full focus etc..." He was also nagged into greeting Claire at Friends and Family, seemed anxious when Fak brought her up right before The Table scene, and also while explaining that "she's great" to Sydney. He was at peace when focused on Sydney in the moment below.

The actors: Jeremy and Ayo's real life friendship is warms my soul and their chemistry onscreen is amazing. DON'T WASTE IT!!!

Jeremy smolders on screen. I want to see Carmy continue to stare, yearn, fall, then eventually confess and for Sydney to reciprocate his feelings. Anyhoo, does anyone else melt when Carm means business?! They do this twice in season one and it's not good for me. Whew, I need to clean my whole house or run a few miles.

Finally, there's so many other parallels between these two. They are fearful avoidants, have a missing or dead parent, jacked up stomachs, use sarcasm, but are generally very earnest, they struggle with anxiety, are compassionate, are perfectionists, peace-makers, give people multiple chances, are workaholics...so much more. A lot of that is also ME, lol.

Sydcarmy is my Roman Empire. I love them as much as you can fictional characters and they deserve the most tender, angsty, triumphant, romantic best-friends to more love story.

I just finished season 2 of future man…. and it was a rollercoaster. I’ve heard people criticize that futureman ‘fell off’ after season 1 and I PARTIALLY agree.

I think the season 1 storytelling and timeline was way more linear (pun intended) and therefore less hard to stomach rather than season 2. But season 2 was so deranged it made it good.

It oddly reminds me of that arc in brooklyn 99 where jake and holt fake identities and just live a really sad sad life. It was just a hard watch basically, in the way that it felt very icky (?) and stagnant!. Sorry for getting sidetracked.

Season 2 was MAJOR fever dream, nightmare fuel shit. It’s like as distressing as the goodplace…. (hope y’all get what im trying to get at here).

Anywho, i’m kind of freaked out to start season 3. Not only because it has 8 episodes only :(( but also because I have a gut feeling it doesn’t end well for j1.

Season 1, Episode 2: The Tagger

Cold Open: Jake is late so Holt calls him out in front of everyone.

"One of these pictures is your locker. The other is a garbage dump in the Philippines. Can you tell which is which? They're both your locker." -Holt

Opinion: Kinda mid, tbh. Lots of different dynamics are formed. Ect: Gina-Charles, Amy-Rosa. I get that the beginning part was to set stuff up, but it just wasn't entertaining. I think that the end was nice because we got to see Holt, and despite hearing about it last episode, we got to actually see for the first time about his trauma relating to his superior officers.

It did give us a pretty great line from Jake about, "You do realize that he did thousands of dollars of property damage." Shows the type of guy he will "grow up to be."

Also, the line about trying him as an adult highlander and cutting his head off will never get old.

Can you try to explain how a show comes from a different studio and network. Reporters have talked about International and Most Wanted coming from an outside supplier so was an NBC show sold to CBS? Can NBC air it now?

Sure. This is one of those things that I kind of have to talk myself through, so fair warning- this might get long and there are a lot of names thrown around.

To start, let's get our ducks in a row using International. The production company is Wolf Entertainment. The studio is Universal Television. The network is CBS. Wolf Ent and Universal Television have a partnership, but these are all different entities.

The production company and the studio work together to take the show from a concept to a tangible thing that can be put to air. This means casting, hiring writers, figuring out practicalities like locations, financial allocations, crew, physical production... to nutshell it, they take a show from an idea to the finished visual product. Networks buy the show and put it on the air. Networks also set the budget.

In this case, Universal Television is under the NBCUniversal umbrella, but NBC (the network) does not have exclusive first rights to their shows. They just exist under the same parent company (NBCUniversal). This means Universal Television can pitch their shows to any network. It feels worth clarifying that the FBIs are not and never have been NBC network shows. Now, NBC network and Universal Television obviously have deep ties with the Chicagos and Law & Orders so I have no doubt that the FBIs were pitched to them, but for whatever reason (maybe NBC said no or maybe CBS was just a better fit), the shows were bought by CBS. Universal Television is the "outside supplier" in question here since they do not belong to the same parent company as CBS, who is under Paramount Global.

This can make negotiations trickier since you do have a NBCUniversal-affiliated studio airing a show on another network. Transmission rights can be costly over time. Streaming rights also come into play. Then there's just good old fashioned money disputes between people who set budgets and people who work with them.

CBS made the decision to not renew International, but the show does still exist under Universal Television. Theoretically- but probably not realistically- another network could swoop in and pick up the show. Think Brooklyn 99 going from Fox to NBC or 9-1-1 from Fox to ABC. I only say this isn't realistic because it's not super common, and the original FBI is still on CBS for two more seasons. I really doubt networks are going to pick up a spin off and while the original show is a mainstay on another network.
