don't mind me i'm just thinking about the potential of episodes we could have in 8b. a ravi begins episode that has a split focus on him becoming a firefighter and returning to the 118, partially because he needs to fill in for eddie but ultimately leading to him becoming a permanent a-shift member. then the week after is el paso, focused entirely on eddie and christopher and the diaz family, ending with eddie and chris coming home to los angeles AND eddie realising his feelings for buck. leading right into an episode about eddie's first shift back, which gives us some form of buddie nde, a feelings confession, and their first kiss <3

crack shannon lives au where she and eddie end up getting a divorce (it's amicable, but they're sorta bitchy friends/exes. idk if that makes sense) they co-parent so well, are actually good friends, but are so bitchy together (like to each other and everyone around). they're so much better friends than spouses

but shannon starts dating ravi and no one tells him that shannon used to be married to eddie and she's the mother to his child. ravi still thinks buddie has been married for years. hen and chimney are confused on how they should act around her. buck tried to tell ravi, but ravi ran (he maybe shouldn't have done so while putting thr chainsaw away)

pre-buddie, where shannon is 100% trying to set eddie up with buck. she wins the bet, but by putting them together she forfeits the money. that money is put into a jar for buddie honeymoon fund (the two end up married a week later, the 200 bucks ends up being used on a cake that says "congrats on forgetting your friends exist and getting married only a week after getting together". shannon wins the wedding bet and keeps the money cause they don't know she was a witness)

ravi is still confused (and shannon isn't helping)

What if Buck still hasn't figured it out? He knows that he's feeling miserable because Eddie is in Texas but he doesn't know why he's this miserable.

So naturally, he takes it out on Ravi again (yay, Ravi back confirmed!)

And Ravi is not a probie anymore plus he's seen Buck act normal already so he's not that bothered by it. He also realises the key difference between the two versions of Buck he's seen: only one of them had Eddie by his side.

He lets him cope for a while, understanding that it must be hard for him. But then one waspish remark hints a little too close and Buck knows that too because he starts apologising immediately but Ravi decides to put an end to it.

"You know, I get that the love of your life is three states and a timezone away but I don't think taking it out on me is helping either of us."

And Buck just... Bluescreens. And spirals. And keeps spiraling after Eddie comes back.

Listening to the 5th rant this week (it's Tuesday) about how much Buck loved Eddie and how he can't tell him and screw it up, Ravi thinks that maybe he should have just endured mean Buck.

literally like i’m praying that ravi is coming back in a ‘he took one look at gerrard and switched to b shift but now that bobbys back he’s moving to a shift full time’ type of way and not a ‘he’s here to replace eddie and after eddie inevitably returns from el paso ravi will be gone with the wind’ type of way
