Counterpoint: Daniel made him special for Hob. Just like when Dream remade the Corinthian and he still had some of his memories and knowledge, Daniel can make the dream version of Dream have some of the same knowledge. Bonus points if the dream version doesn't speak to anyone but the dreamer. Everyone else will see a silent clone of Dream, but since it's Hob's dream, he imagines the clone is talking with him just they used to, so that's what he hears. The clone knows it isn't Dream and doesn't pretend to be. Only those who dream of him will ever hear him speak, and the words will only ever be what the dreamer wants to hear.

So since anything can happen in the Dreaming, how often do you think Hob dreams of his Dream? And do you think Lucienne and Matthew drop by or watch from a distance because they just miss the sound of his voice? The sight of him? Maybe even Corinthian visits every now and then.

Hob will live forever, and so they have eternity to visit his dreams and see their Dream again, never allowing themselves to forget him, even if everyone else does.

No fr because Dream was the one stable, constant thing he had in his immortal. He has lost so many people, but Dream was always there... until he wasn't. Now it's just a blur of faces he'll mourn for the rest of his life, but the one face he wants to see is one he never will again.

Even if many many years in the future, Hob decides that life is no longer for him, do you think he'll decide to stick around because he will see him in his dreams?

The afterlife is unknown and uncertain, but at least with eternal life, he knows he will see his Dream every night for as long as he lives.
