Well uh, I decided to get into the ai song generator stuff and I kinda like it??
So um... Here's a song I spent about thirty mins writing up and threw into the thing. I only have a free account, so if this is the only thing I get to make with it I am okay with that.

Dedicated to all the true 7”ers…
@incovertmusic brought a new standalone single titled “DEAD WEIGHT” & it finds the Los Angeles-based trio bringing exactly what the fuck I needed across a loaded 3:43 clip of salaciously sludge’d, noisily nocturnal & Alice_In_Chained GrungeGoth.
“I CRY” was the latest standalone single from @johnstonsonsss & it found the St. Petersburg, FL-based duo of unleashing 4 darkly hued mins of Nu_romanced NewWave meets post_everything NeoGothPop.
“SLOWER” was the flip-side to @kickingband’s latest 7” & it found the Jackson, MS-based quintet unleashing the simmered rage across a 4:43 clip of aesthetically dialed-in, soft_grunging & six-string stacking AltRawk.
@lessercare returned w/ a new standalone single titled “POV” & it found our beloved El Paso-based trio bringing all the moodily cherished goods across 3 1/2 mins boomingly low-end-driven, six-string echoed & tenderly cooed GothBop.
@mountkimbie dropped “DUMB GUITAR,” the A/side from their latest 7” & it found the London-based quartet beefing up their minimalist template across 5+ mins of Yucca Valley inspired, head_bobbingly grooved & spaciously textured AltPop.

Every rock band has an obligatory "I love rock. My friends love rock. I sing rock and ONLY rock. You should love rock too. SING IT WITH ME! ROCK!!! N'!!! ROLL!!!" song and I respect it

No Doubt - Just a Girl 1995
"Just a Girl" was released as the lead single to American rockband No Doubt's third studio album, Tragic Kingdom (1995). The ska punk, pop-punk, alternative rock, and new wave song with sarcastic lyrics was written by Gwen Stefani and Tom Dumont, and produced by Matthew Wilder. Lyrically, "Just a Girl" is about Stefani's perspective of life as a woman and her struggles with having strict parents. "Just a Girl" was the first song Stefani wrote without the assistance of her brother Eric.
"Just a Girl" received positive reviews from music critics, who commended the feminist lyrics and Stefani's vocals. The single is typically regarded as being the breakthrough that popularized No Doubt. It became their first charting single in the US, peaking at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and entering the Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs, and Mainstream Top 40 component charts. It also reached the top ten in several other countries, including Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, and the UK. On the 1996 year-end chart in Australia, "Just a Girl" was ranked as the 22nd most-successful song of the year. In New Zealand, "Just a Girl" peaked at number nine and was 1996's 25th best-selling single.
The song was featured in '90s cult hits Clueless (1995) and Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion (1997) — movies that served as power-players for unlikely female heroes. Stefani's aim at a male-centric world ended up being one of the most prominent feminist anthems of the '90s — it's a song that stands out now as the music industry's misogynistic outlook continues on. The song also appears in the film Captain Marvel (2019). In March 2023, the song was covered by Florence and the Machine for Showtime Networks' series Yellowjackets; their version appears in the trailer and soundtrack for the second season.
"Just a Girl" received a total of 84,3% yes votes! Previous No Doubt polls: #265 "Sunday Morning".

Was talking with my therapist about music awhile ago and when I played him some of my favorites he was like “this reminds me of a band a friend of mine listens too, you should check them out” and recommended a song. I wasn’t really feeling that specific song when I listened to it later but while going over some bands I had only added one song of to my big playlist (to see what albums they were on and check those out) the band he recommended… it was already on my list. Before I even talked to him about it. I had one of their songs on my big playlist of favorites and I didn’t even realize it. I am just so bad at remembering bands and my playlist is so long that I totally missed just one song during a conversation. Especially since we were talking about my favorite ones and how many of those band’s songs were on that playlist. The band he recommended was already on the massive playlist of songs I’ve encountered and enjoyed. Smh. Next time I have an appointment im totally telling him this before I start laughing.
#emma posts#we were talking about it because I mentioned that music (especially my favorite bands) really helped ground me when I would start to have#a derealization event#a thing that has given me panic attacks (and come during one)#and those panic attacks can Lea to seizures if I don’t get my brain back on track#this was made extra fun to me because a day or two before#I had been scrolling through the goth subreddit#and they had a poll about the best classic band#and I was like ‘I’ve been listening to a lot more recent and obscure stuff. I should check the old ones out)#but I already had one song from one of those bands that I liked#I had just been too distracted by some foreign goth bands at the time I found it#I didn’t even know they were a big deal until over a year after adding the song#I went almost if not two years without realizing I already had a classic band’s song on my massive list#I laugh about it while also groaning at myself#this isn’t even the first time it’s happened#it’s just the first time with classic got#*goth#the other time it was punk#I really just like rock#some like alternate pop or whatever too#but mostly rock#I like music and listen to so much that this keeps happening#I like music but have no idea about a lot of things specific to genre subcultures#i just kinda like a lot of the music and subculture so I find it hard to keep track of the details#if I could actually read music notes I would totally play an instrument#but every time I got classes growing up (just normal ones) I couldn’t for the life of me get fluent in them notes#especially with singing#I ended up just listening to the others and copying it#I couldn’t understand how the dots were noises for my mouth#I could listen and copy but not read
