They are laughing

About a coworker's experience

With a homeless person

This morning

Laughing about the

Garbled silly questions he asked

Laughing about his actions

And reactions

A man living on the street

With obvious mental health issues

Yet they laugh

About how he talked

About the demons in his head

And joking about the man's "condo"

Across from the parking garage

Old tarps and blankets

Draped over a beat up lawn chair

And an old grocery cart

The man's entire life

Piled up and dirty

Yeah, some fancy condo he's living in

And these fuckers laugh about it

I'm sad

I'm angry

Furious

And feeling helpless

I can't make the people here

In the office

See that there is a real person

Behind the insane rambling

The ragged clothes

The unkempt hair and beard

The mental illness

A real life, a sad life
