Bloom
.
Sun peeking through
Clouds giving way
Birds are singing to me
It's time to get busy
Grass going green again

Hesistant, uneven
Mother Nature
Even shook the trees
To wake them up
The yawning squirrel
Says "this is nuts!"
He will be collecting them
Soon enough
Lifes pulls itself
From its grave slumber

Last Grains Of Sand
.
....Sands fall through
The 'hair' apparent
Greys arrive
Some just fall away
But we're still alive
....Onward the sand moves
Wrinkles in skin
Wrinkles in mind
All declines
With the passage of time
....And yet the sand tumbles
Frail to pale
Weak and unclear
Memory stolen
Replaced with fear
....But the grains keep falling
The hourglass doesn't care
.

It's Time

Is this really the year 2025?
Feels like 1939 to me
Can't be the United States of America
Nazi Germany is what I see
.
People being dragged away
By strong men with no badges
Brainwashed zombies watch
Brutality done by fascists

Law breaking madman leader
Running loose with authoritarian orders
Causing havoc for common citizens
Pissing off neighbors across borders
.
How far will this madness go?
When will we rise up and resist?
Or do we sit back feeling helpless?
And will I get jailed for writing this?
