Fractured Narratives: The Collapse of Colonialism, Nationalism, Imperialism, and Capitalism in the Postmodern Era
Jean-François Lyotard, a prominent postmodern philosopher, provides a nuanced framework for understanding the interconnectivity and unsustainability of colonialism, nationalism, imperialism, and capitalism through his critique of metanarratives and his exploration of power dynamics in the postmodern condition. Interconnectivity Metanarratives and Power Structures: Lyotard’s critique of…

This might just be my two special interest bleeding into each other and blending together buuut... There are so many Vandermatthews coded mcr songs
Like, so many its unreal
Especially the first two albums, as far as im aware, the stories are kind of connected and the first album is about two lovers who are also criminals and then one of them dies in a gunfight and the other makes a deal with the devil to kill and bring him 1000 souls of evil men to bring his dead lover back, only realising way too late that the devil tricked him and he is the last evil man and then he kills himself knowing he will never see his lover again.
Thats just, hmmm... I guess its just me being delusional and absolutely insane about these two pieces of media but i can see it

Nooooo because tfp shattered glass is on my mind now and I'm just obsessed with the idea of the humans having an alliance with the SG autobots... At first.
The human government, after all, had only heard one side of the story. Have only seen one side of the story. They had made assumptions, jumped to conclusions, and the autobots were quite willing to allow this. But, then the little things start to unnerve them and pile up, and they start to question: did they choose the wrong side? And if so, can they switch teams? Or are they damned to the demons they unknowingly were helping?

Maybe I should succumb to the temptation of adding trains and tram network in Hazbin Hell and not care that adding public transport would make it less hellish.
On the similar note, I kinda want to go through with using knowledge about urban planning that I'm getting from uni and redesign Pentagram City. Maybe give it a big open market square in the centre where historically people would bring their wares to sell in temporary stalls. Or add a version of Sukiennice.
Also it would be neat to play around with Kowloon Walled City-adjacent development of Pentagram City, unregulated but kinda organised construction that was constricted from expanding outwards so it grew denser and taller.
Other thing that would be interesting is what vegetables and animals live in Hell and how are they cooked? How human dishes are adapted for local demonic ingredients.
And language! It would be so neat to play around with Hell's writing systems or how languages would shift in such mixed environment like Pride Ring

very dark sad text about how i feel right now
if you wonder how i am doing mentally:
we talked with friends in chat and conversation came to talking about a way of moving away from countries by getting refugee status
and there is the thing that, as i heard, if you do that, there is a rule, that you can't visit country which you are running from (it's not 100℅ correct info, i just heard that this can be a thing, and it has exceptions, etc etc. pls don't panic if you are going to be a refugee, or are already, it's not from news or anything, if you are starting this path you already know about this aspect better than i, and if you aren't refugee, don't take is as 100% true info about refugee situations, again, i just heard it somewhere)
the thing is, my friends told me that it's a thing for people to think about for making decision on starting this path or not. and i was like.... really? someone is worring about it?
if i could have a chance i wouldn't think a second. like, idk, refugee center worker, or how it works, idk, would ask like: hey do you know that you will not be able to visit that countr-YES YES I KNOW I DONT WANT TO VISIT IT NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE I WILL NOT EVEN LOOK IN A SIDE OF A COMPASS IN DIRECTION OF THIS COUNTRY!! WHY DO YOU THINK I AM HERE IN THIS CENTER??? - would be my answer
and i started to think like... but it is important thing for people. and someone giving their ability to visit that first place as their sacrifice. and i thought. what sacrifice i could give?
i remembered my childhood intrusive thoughts. it was like that button memes with "you can press the button to [something] to hapen but [something else] also happen". but it was sad thoughts, not funny pictures. i imagined me choosing between something. visually in my head it was like tv show. i stand, and there's the question "here's your mam, cat, and dad. choose who to live and who will be killed". and i had to choose. i don't remember my choices only question
and today, after that chat with friends i imagined that weird "what if" choice like. what would i give for getting out of here? (and yes i would get out of here long time ago but i am not able to. it's kind of the heart of the problem)
and i thinked about it. and i understood that i feel. bad. i underestimated my depression
because i would agree to live in most broke flat. matrass in a room with 20 people? if not here - i am all in
i would give all my things. everything. leave me clothes which i am wearing, take everything else if you will take me away
and. it's a that. non-real abstract scenarios. "we will take you away, but you sleep in room with 20 people on the floor, what's you think?" - this is not how it's happen. i am just thinking about what i have and what i could give for getting away, if it worked like that.
so, all my things which i collected in 2 bags. bad living conditions. what i am ready to agree on else? what else i can to give in that strange abstract deal? what i even have?
i would give my leg. no hesitation
i was saying this to my friend in voice message, and it took me 5 seconds of thinking and to say that i would give 2 legs
if it was an option like "you can buy living not in your country by giving us your limbs" - have my legs, i would be first in line
i am an artist and. i thought a little longer. maybe 10 mins and come to thought that i would give my left arm too
i stopped thinking this thought somewhere here.
i am sorry if i sound offensive to disabled people, say me pls if it's something really bad to say. If you are disabled and this text offense you, tell me, i will delete this post. i am writing in emotions and not really like. eh. thinking about. just say if its bad pls
It's just thoughts about what i have and what i would give as sacrifice. And everything i have is my 2 bags. And my body. (and my art but freedom of art is one of the reasons why i wish to get away)
and i just thought about that if people think about not being able to visit country which they are running from as sacrifice, i started to think, do i consider even anything as sacrifice. and well, as you can see, that i absolutely have no problem with real things which are sacrifices to others in that situation, i would be fine i am sure, so i made up a abstract situation in my head to see how far i can go and.
that fact that i would agree to give my limbs for getting out of here. i think it's very sad. i didn't think i feel so bad being here
can you imagine thinking of place there you live like that. it's not okay for people suffer so much that giving a fucking leg is something they can say on, without doubt "if you will get me away take it TAKE IT"
it's so fucked up
p.s. the country is russia by the way

Reading Amadís of Gaul Cap. 3
So, I forgot to mention the dream King Perión had in the last chapter, but it is very relevant now, let me recount it. Perión dreams of a being entering his chamber via secret passage, rips out his heart and tosses it into the river, which scares the shit out of him. Naturally the Kings asks why that being did it and they reveal that he is a time-lord, having two hearts, one left in his chest.
Still very distraught by this dream, that sure as heck has meaning, given that we already know what that heart in the river could mean, right?
So, Perión does what every King does, he gathers people around himself to, to be precise, three, get the reference, to interpret his dream. And they do, more or less.
“Know then, said the master, that what you saw cast into the river, is the child which she has had by you. And that other heart that remained? what should that be? You may interpret the one by the other, answered Ungan (the Picard): you will have another son, who will in some manner be taken away against the will of her that caused the loss of the first. Strange things hast thou told me! said Perion, and may it please God that the latter part, the misfortunes of my children, prove not so true as what thou hast told me concerning the lady whom I love. The master answered, None can alter the things which were ordained by God, nor know where in they shall end.”
A damsel appears, does some prophesying to King Perón: “When thou recoverest thy loss, the kingdom of Ireland shall lose its flower!”
I am pretty sure, that the countries they reign and live in has meaning, but honestly, I couldn’t care less. Perión works with people from Ireland. Either I missed it, where it was stated which land Perión rules, or it is not mentioned.
And then the point of view is changed to Scotland, where Gandales is raising Amadís. I maybe should have mentioned that in the last part.
“He was called the Child of the Sea, for so they had named him, and with much care was he brought up by that good knight and his wife, and he grew and became so fair, that all who saw him marvailed.”
Weird flex, but okay. I will let that pass... If I had a penny for a knight of royal descent and water themed event in his backstory, I would have two pennies. Which is not a lot, but it is weird that it happened twice. Nah, this is way to loose.
So, King Gandales rode out, in the beginning with King Languines, but they part ways, and meets the damsel who prophesied to King Perión, she tells him that “Ah, Gandales if many great personages knew what I know, they would cut off thy head! Where fore ? quoth he. She replied, because thou nourishest their death.” And then she leaves. He is like what the heck was that and rides on.
But alas the damsel returns, this time in great peril, because now she is followed by a knight who is about to kill her. (Honestly, my dear, what did you expect? That every knight is going to be too dumbfound to react? You kinda had this coming. At this point it doesn’t matter if she is a woman, telling such prophecies would get everyone into trouble. This sidenote is getting out of hand, but genuine question, was Merlin warmly received, when he announced Arthur´s birth? Just wondering...)
Back to the plot: King Gandales seperates the two and starts to fight the other knight.
“What? said the other, wouldst thou protect her, who by her art has made me lose body and soul? Of that know I nothing, said Gandales, but protect her I will, for women are not to be thus punished, even though they deserve it.” King Gandales supportes women´s wrongs? I wonder how that is gonna play out.
The other knight retreats back into the forest he came from, there another damsel hands him his shield and lance and starts to attack King Gandales. And they fight.
The prophesying damsel intervenes, orders the foreign knight to kneel in front of her, which he gladly does, throwing shield and lance away. Next, she tells him to get rid of that damsel in the forest, which he does. Leading the forest damsel to cry and ride away, thinking her friend was under some kind of spell. Then the prophesying damsel does some more prophesying.
“I tell thee, he whom thou foundest in the sea shall be the flower of knighthood in his time; he shall cause the strongest to stoop, he shall enterprize and finish with honour that wherein others have failed, and such deeds shall he do as none would think could be begun nor ended by body of man. He shall humble the proud, and cruel of heart shall he be against those who deserve it, and he shall be the knight in the world who most loyally maintains his love, and he shall love one answerable to his high prowess. And I tell you that on both sides he is of kingly parentage. Now go thy way, and believe that all this shall come to pass, and if thou discoverest it, there shall happen to thee therefore more evil than good.”
SHE IS IN LOVE WITH THE (fair) KNIGHT GANDALES FOUGHT???? And she is forcing her love on him? Or am I misunderstanding this: “howbeit I cease not for that to bring him to my will, whatever he can do”
Her name is Urganda the Unknown. AND SHE IS KEEPING UP A FALSE APPEARANCE??
“Doubt not that, said Urganda, I love him more than thou canst think, for I shall soon receive aid from him twice, which none else could give me, and he shall receive two guerdons to his joy.” Could you, my dear, please stop prophesying, this chapter is already way too long.
“Gandales, seeing his head disarmed, thought him the goodliest knight that he had ever beheld”
They part and, on his way, home to the castle he sees the other girl who is out for some revenge because dare this prophesying lady take her friend away. He warns her not to act out her revenge.
Little Amadís runs towards Gandales who pickes the kid up and hugs him. Overjoyed Gandales starts crying, thinking of all the good the child will do. Meanwhile lil Amadís dries his tears.
For the fifth birthday both boys, Amadís and Gandalin will receive bows.
When they are seven years old, King Languines and Queen travel the country, Gandales hides the kids in the courtyard. The Queen still gains sight of the kids and notices the child of the sea, because the boy was good looking, very good with his bow and the best dressed. (Dressing the child you find in the sea better than you own offspring might have consequences... I presume.)
The kids take a moment to rest and drink water, one kid takes Gandalins bow. Naturally Gandalin does not like that and wants his bow back. The unnamed kid hits Gandalin. Amadís hits the unnamed kid, because Gandalin calls the child of the sea for the help. They fight for a while. Crying the unnamed kid runs away, meets a tutor and snitches.
“The tutor went towards him with the strap in his hand; How is this, Child of the Sea, said he, that you dare beat the boys? I shall punish you! But the child fell upon his knees; I had rather you would strike me, said he, than that any one before me should dare to beat my brother; and the tears came in his eyes. The tutor was moved and told him to do so no more.”
And the Queen wonders why they call him Child of the Sea instead by his own name. Which is a good point.

More Literary Vocabulary
Animism: the rhetorical figure whereby something inanimate or lifeless is given attributes of life or spirit, e.g. Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights: ‘I believe at Wuthering Heights the kitchen is forced to retreat altogether into another quarter… the chairs, high- backed, primitive structures, painted green, one or two heavy black ones lurking in the shade…’; or the opening of Shelley’s ‘Ode to the West Wind’: ‘O wild West Wind, thou breath of Autumn’s being…’
Aporia: a rhetorical figure for doubt. Especially associated with deconstructive thinking, an aporia may arise when the reader encounters two or more contradictory codes, ‘messages’ or ‘meanings’ in a text. It involves an impasse or site of undecidability.
Bathos: artistic falling- away; a sense of disappointment or anticlimax, expressed by the writer or felt by the reader.
Catachresis: (Gk. ‘misuse’) rhetorical term for misuse or misapplication of language.
Catharsis: (Gk. ‘purgation’, ‘purification’) according to Aristotle, something that can happen to a spectator or reader at the end of a tragedy, due to a release of emotional tension arising from the experience of a paradoxical mixture of pity and terror.
Deixis: a term from linguistics, referring to the use of words concerning the place and time of utterance, e.g. ‘this’, ‘here’.
Denouement: (Fr. ‘unknotting’) either the events following the climax of a plot, or the resolution of this plot’s complications at the end of a short story, novel or play.
Differend: a term invented by Jean- François Lyotard to refer to a situation of conflict in which resolution cannot be secured through negotiation, litigation or consensus, because the parties involved are deploying languages, discourses or logics that are fundamentally incompatible or incommensurable.
Epistemophilia: (Gk. ‘a love of knowledge’) the desire for knowledge that literary texts produce in readers – the desire for the ‘truth’ or ‘meaning’ of the text.
Equivocal: like ‘ambiguous’, this suggests that a word, phrase, etc., has more than one meaning but, while ‘ambiguous’ suggests that it may be possible to decide on one primary meaning, ‘equivocal’ suggests that the meaning cannot be resolved.
