Guide to Pluralkit
So pluralkit is a tool used very commonly for plural systems. Basically what it does is proxy who’s speaking (this can have an alters name, pronouns, a custom profile picture, ect.) it’s very easy to use once you get the hang of it!
Step 1. Make yourself a private discord server. The reason why is because that way it’s easier to edit and save what you need in the server.
Tumblr media
after this you will need to add pluralkit to the server. You can do this by going to the website (https://pluralkit.me) or clicking the bot in a server you share with it, and adding it to your server.
Okay so after that, set up your server. All it needs is the channels you guys need. Obviously general can be whatever, we use it for bot commands. Would recommend a system chat channel, especially if you cannot speak internally. Other channels that might be helpful, or channels to store picrews and things of that nature, we have one for storing alter intros, if you don’t want to have a psychical diary, you could start one in the private server, and basically anything you need. The idea is that this server only has you guys in it
Tumblr media
Step 2. Okay so you’ll need to set up a system now. To get started you’ll need to do pk;s new keep in mind you can only have one system per discord account, and only 1k members (we have heard you can request more in the discord server, but we haven’t tried it ourselves)
Most system servers require a system tag. To set one you do pk;s tag (tag here) tags can be anything in a character limit. Ours is 💙. Some servers don’t like when people have the same tag, so if you need to change it in a server you can do pk;s server tag (tag here)
After setting up your system to add a member you do pk;m new (members name) keep in mind you want it to be one word with no spaces or hard to use symbols. This is so it’s as easy as possible to edit. Also would like to add, if you throw in a image while doing this command, it will set that alters avatar without having to do another command (image below is a random image we had saved) if you are like us, and have alters that share names, it’s best to just add a number (no space still) infront, this makes it way easier to edit.
Tumblr media
To set up a display name you do pk;m (members name) dn (what you want it to say, we normally have name and pronouns, and if a alter has like a specific role in the system, sometimes that gets added if the alter wants it)
Tumblr media
If you accidentally set the wrong profile picture, or a alter wants a different one for whatever reason, the command is pk;m (name) avatar and then insert the photo
Tumblr media
Finally to set a proxy do pk; (member name) proxy (proxy here)text (the text can also be behind the poxy, it just has to be behind or above) proxys can be anything basically! We usually use emojis, although whatever you do, make it something you don’t use. For emojis we have one or two emojis typically that represent the alter, and then the blue heart emoji in front that way if it’s a emoji we use a lot, it isn’t going to proxy us by accident. You can either do the proxy everytime you speak, or do a few commands.
Pk;ap latch this latches to the last used proxy. Good when one alter is having a conversation, but others aren’t.
Pk;ap (name) this latches to the alters name that is used. Does not change until turned off, or switched to a different alter, or auto proxy command.
Pk;ap front this command sets whoever is set as fronting as the auto proxy. The front is set by doing pk;switch (name) To turn off all of these the command is Pk;ap off
Step 3. With pluralkit you can add alters to groups!
Tumblr media
To make a group you do pk;g new (groups name) like with the base names you want it to be one word, no spaces or weird symbols.
with groups you can set display names, descriptions, avatars, just for that group!
pk;g description (put the description you want with the command)
pk;g avatar (photo)
pk;g dn (name)
To add members to the group do pk;g (groups name) add (name) (name 2) you can add as many as you want, just make sure to not use commas or and, just name after name separated by a space
Step 4. To set a system/alter description and banner is pretty easy.
For system:
pk;s description (desc goes here)
pk;s banner (add image)
For Alters:
pk;m (name) description (desc goes here)
pk;m (name) banner (add image)
Step 5. Finally, some good commands to just know.
If you react with a question mark emoji on an alter using pluralkit, it gives you information about the person. (Username, ect)
If you have a member you feel needs to be private the command is pk;m (name) private
to delete a member you do pk;m (name) delete and then enter in the code it gives you
to change a alters base name, (not dn) do pk;m (name) rn (new name)
A fun little pluralkit game is going “pk;r (random silly thing here)” Pk;r randomly picks a alter, so putting a random caption over it can be fun sometimes.
if you do set a alters name as something with a space, you’ll have to edit it in qoutes. (Pk;m “Example name with a space” (command)
to look up a list of alters do pk;m list or pk;s list
Thanks for reading! Pluralkit is confusing at first, so we thought we would make a simple guide!

People create headmates for a variety of reasons! Having a headmate, while being definitely different and can be a lot of responsibility, isn’t inherently negative. Creating headmates for plurals and singlets can be a positive process that improves their life

I love the variety of plurality I love that systems from different origins often work differently I love that systems from different origins sometimes work similarly I love median systems where there's barely any distinction I love systems who have members who are all really different and distinct people I love plurals who chose to be plural and are proud of it I love plurals who didn't choose to be plural and wish they weren't I love you adaptive systems I love you spontaneous systems I love you created systems I love you unknown systems I love you mixed origin systems I love you traumagenics I love you endogenics I love you all and wish the best for you I hope that if it's hard right now that it gets better and I want you to know that there are people out there rooting for you and that you aren't alone
I love you plurals, systems, collectives, whatever you call yourselves. I'm glad you're here, however you got here.

is pretending to be someone else a functional way of forming a headmate? i have seen anecdotal evidence of people's consciously adopted "alter egos" or whatnot becoming autonomous, so now as someone who struggles with traditional methods of headmate creation i am considering just taking the "fake it till you make it" approach. does this actually work, or will it just lead to me deluding myself?
Maybe?
I think pretending to be someone isn't enough on its own. Otherwise every actor or roleplayer would be a system.
I think the reason this only works for some people is because people pretend in different ways using different mechanisms.
There's simple pretending where you simply try to act like someone else.
And then there's a more dissociative version where you get into their head, and try to simulate their thoughts.
It's not just acting. It's taking all the traits of the entity you want to create and putting them in their own compartment in your brain. It's running that entity as its own separate thing, like a different program in the same computer. Not just acting, but letting your brain think its thoughts. Then you keep doing that, letting it acquire more memories and experiences over time, and hoping its actions become more automatized, requiring less of your input.
And I would also advise interacting with it directly rather than just pretending to be it, to reinforce that you're separate and that this isn't just a role you're playing. (I've seen quite a few people get positive results from setting up chats with their proto-headmates.)
Fake it till you make it does work for headmate creation. But I believe it needs to be done in a specific way with a specific mindset. At least for the best results.

Guys who cares if ppl create headmates, like we always tell people do tons of research before purposely creating a system, but it’s those people’s lives, often people are doing it because they feel the positive outweighs the negative and will help better their life.
personally if something will better your life, who cares what others think, do research of course before creating a system as there is both a lot of bad and good, but if creating head mates is what you want, you have done research, and especially if it’ll make your life a bit better, then it shouldn’t matter what others think, anyone can be plural and it’s not a bad thing to be plural, the future is plural.
it is not making you less of a system somehow because people can become a system by choice and at any age, you are just gatekeeping something ridiculous to gatekeep

Any tips for trying to form a headmate? Tips/help would be greatly appreciated rn :]
Hello, in our own system attempts to create a new headmate have been half-hearted and unsuccessful. We have no created system members at this time and aren’t knowledgeable enough to feel comfortable sharing advice on how to go about this. Our apologies.
Our resource post for questioning systems has a section on non-CDD plurality with many links which may prove beneficial for you:
There are multiple ways to go about creating a headmate, so please do some research and choose a method which works best for you. A few examples:
Imagian - creating an imaginary friend, then treating them as sapient and encouraging them to think, act, and make decisions for themselves.
Daemonism - assigning attributes to aspects of your own personality and developing that set of traits into their own individual.
Paromancy - consciously creating a headmate through forcing and imposition (though paromancers may create their own parogens/thoughtforms through a host of different methods).
If any system with created headmates sees this and has advice they would like to share, that would be most welcome. Thank you very much.

Plural community safety tips
This is just a list of red flags to look out for if you are a plural system looking for a community that would be safe for you and your headmates. These tips specifically avoid anti-endogenic spaces or other kinds of exclusionary behaviors that could potentially be harmful in the long term.
Just be aware that this was made for systems who have similar boundaries to our own, which can basically be summed up by:
1. No exclusionary beliefs;
2. Respectful towards all kinds of systems (traumagenic, endogenic, parogenic, questioning and mixed origins);
3. No need of hiding parts of ourselves that aren't acceptable to the community.
If you have similar goals, these tips might be useful for you as well and you are welcome to post more red flags (or green flags) to keep an eye on.
1. Make sure the group moderators have zero tolerance for exclusionism.
You may come accross communities that claim to be okay with endogenic systems or any other non-traumagenic system, but you observe that they do not enforce these rules or are selective about what kinds of systems can be part of the community.
Moderators who do not step in when syscourse happens against other kinds of systems aren't making the place safe for everyone. They're fine letting others discuss if some kinds of people are allowed to exist. That is a good reason to be concerned.
For max safety, leave the community once you notice that or you might risk befriending people whose ideals you do not agree with. Worst case scenario, they will be hateful towards people you love and care about who happen to be part of a kind of system they hate or maybe they will find out you're one of the "bad ones", then throw away your entire friendship based on that alone.
(This part is extra bad if they do not moderate people openly stating that minorities are inferior, less deserving of respect/rights, more likely to do bad things, thinking that discussing if basic human rights/respect should be given to them or make any other attempts of dehumanization.)
2. Be wary if they do not explicitly state they are pro-endo and okay with parogenic systems.
This is important because some communities of anti endos won't explicitly state that. They will only say their communities are for systems and act as if only traumagenic systems exist. This is a common behavior and you have to check the moderators' beliefs on this before deciding to join in.
While some are pretty loud about their hatred, others won't even mention endogenic systems' existence because they don't believe they exist at all. It would be very helpful if all of them did that, but frankly, they don't even care if a car runs over an endogenic system. They won't lose a minute of sleep for fooling an endogenic system into thinking they are getting in a safe space and break the news only once they got in.
3. Make sure they respect the way your system functions and the labels you use.
It is okay to educate others who don't know the terminology, but if you confidently know that you are a daemian system, mixed origins system, non-traumagenic or any other kind... And yet they insist on using terminology you're not comfortable with towards you and you let them know about that... Then you're not in a safe space.
You're part of the system, you're living it with your headmates. Outsiders don't get to say what you are no matter what. If they can't respect this simple boundary, trust me, they will be fine not respecting the other boundaries you've got.
I hope that could help others avoiding headaches while looking for safe communities. If you have any other suggestions on how to avoid issues related to plural spaces, you're welcome to say on reblogs or comments.

Plural Pride Flags!
We have here two sets of alternative plural pride flags we made, all inspired by Emmengard's Rings!
The first set has higher eyestrain sensitivity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This second set is eyestrain free and dimmed!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are the flags without the rings icons!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are for use by all systems, regardless of origin, disordered or non-disordered, number of members, level of amnesia, amount of switching, members’ species, gender identity, or orientation, neurodivergence or disability status, or any other quality that makes each system unique.
I really took inspiration from the Plural Rings for it- so the color meanings are the same as that symbol. With:
- a green stripe on the top for adaptive systems [ broad term to describe systems(/members) that are a result of adapting to adversity; this does include trauma but isn't *exclusively* that, could also include neurogenic systems]
- a red stripe below green for created systems, i.e. parogenic/willogenic systems, etc.
- white as a free space/ acknowledging mixed origin systems
- a yellow stripe for unknown systems/systems that don't identify with any origin terms
- a blue stripe on the bottom for spontaneous systems[ such as systems from birth ]
The reordering of the colors was merely for aesthetic purposes.
This was previously posted anonymously on another blog, and we have since decided to come forward as the artist! We will also be reblogging this from our official art account, as we will be selling designs featuring these flags!

Daemons are not splinters. When you look closer at a piece of wood, they are the grains that twist and run together. They bind the wood together so it can be strong and stable thanks to its support. It also gives the wood its distinctive character. They may one day splinter off and become their own thing, but the rest of the grain remains exactly where it was.
You are that piece of wood.
