there is a breeze in the countryside, its soft and cool and it pushes luna's strands of intense blonde behind her. she has a content smile on her lips, her head tilted up as she basks in the sun, a flower collecting nutrients. harry watches her, the way shes carefree and calm in this moment-

"lou?'' he ventures, his voice soft as to not startle her. she doesn't move, doesnt look to him, but the soft upwards lift to her lift and big breath in tells him that he's heard her. "yea, haz?" she asks in her oh-so special tone. it feels melodic and soft and like its deprived from all the good things in the world.

"do you think you're always my little sister?" people insist luna has always been odd, that she spoke in riddles with no answers, but harry knew better. he knew there was rhyme and reason to luna-- most would too, but they hate when shes right and shes always right.

"always, haz" she says it so certain, so matter-of-fact that harry immediately believes her. he wants to question her, to push for more answers that he knows she has. he couldn't imagine not having luna, her not being his little sister. his to protect and hers to scorn. and scorn she did.

most also thought luna was too precious and sweet for the world-- and while Harry agreed, he also knew the truth: luna would make tom riddle look like godric bloody gryffindor under the right circumstances. it seems to be a pattern of his, to collect sisters who could take over the entire wizarding world. one was more likely than the other, sure. but both equally capable.

"that's good, lou... really good" he was able to relax a bit, knowing that in even the toughest of universes, the night still had the moon and Harry still had Luna.
