Precise Pipetting Made Easy: Choosing the Right Pipette Tips
The precision and accuracy of even the best-calibrated pipette might be lost if the wrong type of tip is used. Depending on the experiment, the improper pipette tips can also cause contamination, waste of valuable samples or reagents, and even inflict bodily harm in the form of repetitive stress injury (RSI). There are numerous types of recommendations to pick from. There are a wide variety of tips to pick from. How do you determine which is ideal for your pipette and circumstance? Let us check this out in this blog:
Select high-quality pipette tips for accuracy and precision
Precision and accuracy are frequently the first factors that come to mind when deciding which tip type to use. Your pipetting will not be precise if there is any batch-to-batch, or even within-batch, variation in the form of the pipette tips. If the tip does not correctly fit your specific pipette, it may compromise the accuracy of your pipette. The drawn-in air can escape from your pipette barrel and tip if there is a weak seal, which prevents the proper amount of liquid from being inhaled. The ultimate volume supplied is therefore not entirely accurate. Choosing a tip that works well with your pipette might be challenging.
Pipette-specific or universal tips?
Using high-quality universal tips is the best option for your pipette and application. These universal tips are compatible with the vast majority of pipettes on the market. Universal tips have been developed to fit securely and firmly around all pipette tip cones, which vary somewhat in diameter from maker to manufacturer. Tips using the best technology, for example, are flexible at the proximal end of the tip (i.e., closest to the barrel), allowing them to suit a wider range of pipette types. In Microlit, you can find universal tips with all of the features discussed below (aerosol barrier, graduated, ergonomic, and so on).
Filter and non-filter Tips: Advantages and disadvantages
Filter tips and Non-filter tips are made for certain circumstances. If you're going to pipette something that could contaminate your pipette, such as volatile, corrosive, or viscous chemicals, you should think about Filter tips to safeguard your pipette and your samples.
Aerosol Barrier tips, also known as filter pipette tips, have a filter inside the proximal portion of the tip. The filter guards against aerosols and aspirating volatile or viscous liquids into the barrel, which can taint and harm the pipette. These tips are normally pre-sterilized and devoid of DNase/RNase. However, the term "barrier" is a bit misleading for some of these suggestions. Only a few high-end tips offer a true sealing barrier. Most filters just impede the flow of liquid into the pipette barrel. Because of the filter barrier in these tips, they are ideal for delicate applications such as qPCR.
The barrier eliminates PCR contamination by preventing sample spillover from the pipette, resulting in more reliable findings. Remember to perform your PCR positive and negative controls to detect sample carryover. Furthermore, filter tips are excellent 'training wheels' for newcomers. Pipette contamination occurs frequently when a new lab member mistakenly aspirates liquid into the pipette. Because liquid is in the piston, it is much easier and less expensive to discard a tip rather than send the entire pipette in for repair.
 Low retention tips
Low retention is an important feature regardless of whatever tip you use. Low-retention tips perform precisely what their name implies: they hold a small amount of liquid. If you've ever glanced at a typical pipette tip, you may have seen a small amount of liquid remaining after dispensing. Low-retention tips prevent this by containing a hydrophobic plastic additive that prevents liquid from adhering to the inside of the tips.
Ergonomic Tips
Pipetting, for example, can cause damaged joints and result in repetitive stress injury (RSI). As a result, firms have produced ergonomic tips that need reduced insertion and ejection forces, lowering the risk of RSI. Having said that, this feature is all about a good fit. An ergonomic tip is one that is specifically made to suit your pipette properly which reduces the risk of RSI.
Remember that you may typically obtain samples from various companies in order to determine what works best for your research.
To produce accurate and exact measurements, your pipette and tip must operate together. The number of suggestions available can be overwhelming. Using this guide will assist you in selecting the optimum tip for each application, resulting in cleaner, more robust results.

I took my braids out and washed my hair New Year's Eve which was super fun (read: divided timing because of work and family event but relaxing and mentally freeing overall)
Straight out, I twisted my hair up for work—because someone decided to take their hair out after midnight—and finger detangled to get rid of product build up and any lint. I used a moisturizing milk from Eden Bodyworks that held my twists for my work day until I could get home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'd say I had about an inch of growth from this style. Note, this was my hair still unwashed! I had just taken the twists out and they were dry but not terribly so.
I did a full treatment routine of deep and protein conditioning. First I sectioned my hair into 4 large pieces, shampooed, and then used regular conditioner to detangle my hair under running water with a wide tooth comb. I then mixed a strengthening conditioner with an anti-breakage conditioner, left on for a bit of time, and washed out.
For as much frizz as I normally have, this was actually apretty good cut down even after some drying and shaking. The trim I did before the braids also made a big difference. My colored hair has also been healthy since first bleached and dyed, and I didn't retouch it this time.
(straight out the water) Shrinkage was in FULL effect with the natural shrunkenhawk 🤣 which is good for the state of health!
Tumblr media
Some curls and kinks I managed to catch after t-shirt drying my hair
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the products I used were from EDEN Bodyworks (I live the peppermint line... As you may know I just love putting peppermint in my hair 🤣)
Tumblr media
The moisturizing hair milk was the first time I tried it and it was great in keeping my hair moisturized for an entire day even without shampooing first. I did use it as my leave in after my wash and my hair felt great. The massaging serum I used every week more or less when I had my braids it. That's another one I tried for the first time and it seems really good too.
I did plan to blowdry but... Family event... So instead it's a braidout type of week!

It’s a ridiculously warm day in Birmingham at the base and she’s on the couch with one foot touching Ghost’s thigh as he lays on the floor of the 141’s common room in his shorts. The overhead ceiling fan is going full blast as is the fan on the kitchen counter. Condensation drips down the side of her glass as she watches the minutes tick by on the clock on the wall.
Boredom.
Pure boredom is what is pulling her down into the couch, drowning her veins in a slow sap that causes her to let out another exaggerated sigh; she hears the rumble from the cushions below.
“What?” Ghost grunts.
“I’m booooooooored,” she groans and he rolls his eyes despite them being closed.
“Well find something to do instead of bothering me.”
“It’s too hooooooooooot.”
“Then maybe shut up?” he offers and she kicks his thigh.
“Don’t be an arse.” He simply hums in return and she lets out a long breath, waits a moment, a few moments, then asks, “What are you going to do with my body when I d—?”
“You’re not dying before me,” is his immediate, cutting her off.
“If,” she starts again. “I die before you, what are you going to do with me?”
Ghost’s muscles flex beneath her foot and he responds, “Have you stuffed and add a button that repeats all your favorite catch-phrases.”
“Is one of them going to be, ‘You look like an anal-retentive Halloween decoration.’?”
“Among many others.”
“Wonderful.”
He lays flatter to the ground, getting comfortable on his stomach. “What do you want me to do with your body if you die before me?”
She thinks for a second, then says, “Cremate me. Make my ashes into ink, and tattoo something fond on your body to have me with you forever.”
“A bit morbid,” he notes. “If not unhygienic.”
“Fine, fine, stuff me like a treasured trophy then.”
He simply smiles and tips his leg up into her foot.
***
“You’re sure you’d rather have this ink than the ones I have? I can’t promise the tattoo won’t get infected with what you’ve got.”
He shakes his head, hums low in his throat and mutters, “Want this one.”
The tattoo artists shrugs and readies his things to begin tattooing across the soldier’s spine. “It’s rare that I see men get such a delicate flower like a cherry blossom branch on them,” he says. “They must be special to you.”
His eyes open and he looks at the wall, can see her plain as day with that gorgeous smile on her face; it makes a soft and sweet, but bitter smile come across his own. “My woman, she loved them.”

I believe sperm retention is good for men's health so that's the plot line. We are always so kind and gentle with Tamaki(Amajiki) but today we want to test how good of a boy he truly is. We tell him that today he isn't allowed to cum at all and if he succeeds we will be so proud of him, but if he fails he will get his first punishment. Hope he's a good boy :(
Can we get hcs pretty please? *Bats my pretty lashes*
Tumblr media
★ NOT AT ALL. tamaki!
• warning: Tamaki Amajiki + gn!dom reader, edging, praise, lots of dirty talk, mentions of punishments and spanking.
• author note: no proof read for this one 😔 sorry for being so inactive, once I’m not traveling so much I promise I’ll be able to post more often.
Tumblr media
Tamaki's stomach would doing flips at the thought of surrendering his pleasure, a concept he'd never experienced before. He does the most to obey your demands, even if it meant embarrassing himself. But this was the first time he'd been asked to give up his own pleasure, and it left him distraught. His face would be contorted in a mixture of pouts and whimpers, his eyes welling up with tears as he clutched at your hips in desperation.
Initially, Tamaki would likely protest vehemently, as the idea of sperm retention obviously a punishment. However, if you insisted, he would have no choice to obey you. Despite the struggle it would be for him, the thought of you having full control over whether he can climax or not is a major turn on for him. The possibility of receiving praise if he does manage to succeed adds to the excitement. Let alone the idea of you being proud of him is enough to prevent him from ejaculating, no matter how much he desires to do so.
Alternatively, he might not be able to contain his orgasm and ends up coming all over his sad little tummy :( Even though he might find pleasure in the punishment you administer, he would feel extremely guilty. He would immediately break down in tears, whimpering and apologizing for his actions, promising to be a good boy. However, deep down, he enjoys the idea of defiance and rough treatment, as long as he ends up being your good boy by the end of the night. Though the punishment wouldn't be overly harsh, he would take it with equanimity, counting each spank and murmuring "sorry" and "thank you" in between.
Tumblr media
"Have you gotten way too spoiled?" you asked, your voice warm and gentle as your finger continued to caress the fabric of his clothes, tracing the outline of his cock.
The shy boy shook his head, still avoiding eye contact. "Have you gotten… pretty spoiled?" you asked, your tone softening as you drew a little closer to him.
His ears flushed a deeper crimson as he nodded almost imperceptibly, the slightest movement betraying his admission. "Yeah?" you cooed, coaxing him to speak up, though he couldn’t find the courage to.
You exhaled a soft sigh, tracing the contours of his tip with your finger, moving at a torturously slow pace. "Do I need to be rougher with you?" you breathed, your question laced with a hint of curiosity.
His lip curled downward at the suggestion, and he subtly pushed into your hand, as if seeking more. "Meaner," he corrected, his voice barely above a whisper. "Do you want me to be meaner?"
This time, he nodded, his gaze locked on yours, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of desire and vulnerability as they seemed to glaze over and dilate. You leaned in closer, your voice dropping to a sultry whisper. "Yeah?"
As shame began to dissipate, he nodded more resolutely, a soft "please" escaping his lips, his tone laced with a hint of desperation.
You leaned in, your voice low and husky, "Please, what?" as you settled onto his thighs, pinning him in place to prevent him from squirming away. He paused, his eyes cast downward, his face growing hotter by the second as he struggled to find the courage to speak his desires. The words finally emerged, hesitantly forced out: "Please...can...can we do more?" His hand slowly going to cover his face, as if trying to conceal the vulnerability that had taken over.
A soft chuckle escaped your lips as you gently pulled his hand away, forcing his teary gaze to meet yours. "No coming tonight, Tamaki," you stated firmly, your nails digging lightly into his wrist.
His face contorted in confusion, a pitiful puff of air escaping his lips as he whispered, "W-what?" His eyes searched yours, seeking clarity.
You leaned in closer, your voice taking on a calm, deliberate tone. "Let's see if you're really a good boy," you said, your hand drifting over his chest as you watched his expressive face cycle through a gamut of emotions. "You're not getting to cum tonight, understand?"
Tamaki's whiny voice cracked as he asked, "L-like... not at all?" His words were laced with a mixture of disappointment and longing.
“Like not at all.” repeated, your voice dripping with a warm, sadistic sweetness. "But don't worry, if you behave, I'll give you a very nice reward," you purred, leaning down to gently lick his pink nipple.
Tamaki let out a strained moan, struggling to find his voice. "And what if I...do?" he asked, his breathy words tumbling out as he gazed up at you with a pout.
You paused, weighing your options with deliberate slowness. "Then," you said, your tone turning stern, "I'll have to punish you."
Tamaki's whine was almost inaudible as he protested, "Why are you being so mean to me?" He sank deeper into the pillows, his face hidden from view as he sought to escape his embarrassment.
“I thought you asked me to be meaner to you, was I wrong?” you teased, slowly pulling down his clinging boxers to finally release his rigid cock. Tamaki's gaze dropped to his stomach, and he looked at himself with a mixture of self-pity and resignation as he anticipated the marathon of edging you had in store for him tonight.
A small, involuntary whimper escaped his lips as he lifted his gaze to yours, his clumpy lashes fluttering as he gazed up at you with pleading eyes. You grasped the base of his cock, and began to pump your fist in a slow, deliberate motion. Tamaki's hips twitched in response, and he watched with a pout as you let a droplet of saliva slide down the length of his shaft, making him squirm.
"Stay still for me, baby," you coaxed, your wrist moving in a slow, sensual arc as you reached the tenderest part of his cock. His hand clamped down on your wrist, his head thrown back in a moan of pleasure as you stroked his most sensitive spot.
"I-I...," he gasped, his words trailing off between ragged breaths, "I can't...I'm close."
Your pace slowed imperceptibly, and a soft coo of sympathy escaped your lips. "Ah, already? I see my words got you excited," you said, batting your lashes with a wicked smile. "Do you want to be punished?"
Tamaki's whine was like a protest, his hand reaching behind him to grasp the sheets as if seeking support. "N-no," he argued, his hips subtly buckling into your hand as if trying to pull away from the impending orgasm.
You let out a soft sigh, your hand trailing off to caress his sacs. Tamaki's tension eased, and he reached out with a hand, his fingers closing around yours in a gentle grasp. "Hold?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
You raised an eyebrow, a sly smile spreading across your face as you gazed at his blushing cheeks. "Oh, you want to hold my hand? How sweet," you teased, your tone dripping with amusement.
Tamaki's arm shot up to cover his face once more, but it didn't stay there for long. His hand quickly reasserted itself, gripping the sheets as if seeking grounding as you began to stroke him again. Beads of pre-cum formed on his length, trickling down his shaft like tiny rivers as you focused your movements on the pink, puffy tip.
As you continued to tease him, you posed the question aloud, more for the pleasure of watching him squirm than any genuine interest in his opinion. "What do you think would be a fitting punishment?" you mused, your grip on his base tightening as you felt his cock throb with desire at the very thought of it. "Should I deny you touch for a week?" You suggested, your voice low and husky, the words sending shivers down Tamaki's spine.
"No," Tamaki protested, his head shaking rapidly from side to side.
You pouted, your smile twisting into a wicked grin. "Oh, come now, don't be shy. A little spank might do you some good," you said, your voice dripping with sarcasm. "You might just turn bright red."
Tamaki's embarrassment began to dissipate, replaced by a growing sense of urgency as he felt his orgasm building. He was desperate to come, and the thought of being spanked only added to his arousal. His resolve crumbled, and he let out a strained "I'm getting close" as his hips bucked upward in search of relief.
As you withdrew your hand from his cock, Tamaki let out a soft moan, his body surrendering to the pleasure that had been building inside him. His face flushed with shame and excitement, he lay there, helpless and exposed, as the orgasm disappeared.
If you repeat this with him enough, you might just break him. The poor boys brain would dissolve into mush faster than you make think. His skin would be flushed, his chest heaving with ragged breaths, and tears streaming down his face. His thighs trembling with each touch, as if the physical sensation was too much to bear. The pain would be almost unbearable, yet his body would crave release more than anything.
If you spoke words of encouragement, all he would manage would be a numb nod, his mind consumed by the desperate desire to come. From that point on, there were only two paths open to him: succumb to the inevitable and let go, risking failure and the agony of delay; or grit his teeth and push through the pain, earning your praise and attention.
I believe he would be more likely to listen to you, no matter how bad it hurt. Solely because he enjoys being pampered more than anything. Any sort of torture is worth a cold shower with you. He would already be fantasizing about you scrubbing his back and telling him how proud you were of him, how he was yours, and only yours.
Oh, but I do think that if sperm retention became a habit, he might “accidentally” cum, just to see where it gets him.

Could you give any advice on food and exercise when someone is on their period plz 🩷
Of course!! I need to live by these tips too!♥️
Adjust Caloric Intake: During your period, you might experience cravings or increased appetite. Focus on nutrient-dense, low-calorie foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains to stay full without consuming excess calories.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help reduce bloating and maintain energy levels. Herbal teas can also help soothe cramps and support hydration.
Exercise Modifications: If you’re feeling fatigued or uncomfortable, consider lighter activities like walking, yoga, or stretching. Gentle exercise can alleviate cramps and improve mood without putting too much strain on your body.
Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how you’re feeling. If you’re more tired than usual, it’s okay to scale back your workouts and focus on rest and recovery.
Manage Cravings Wisely: If you have cravings, opt for healthy snacks like nuts, yogurt, or fruit. These options can satisfy cravings without derailing your diet goals.
Get Enough Sleep: Quality sleep is crucial for overall health and can help manage fatigue and mood swings during your period.
Low cal food that is good on ur period:
Greek Yogurt: High in protein and can be paired with fresh fruit or a sprinkle of nuts.
Fruit: Apples, berries, and oranges are really good.
Vegetable Sticks: Carrots, celery, and cucumbers with a low-calorie dip like hummus. Provides fiber and healthy fats.
Popcorn: Air-popped popcorn is a low-calorie, fiber-rich snack.
Nuts: A small handful of almonds or walnuts can help with cravings and provide healthy fats.
Dont’s:
High-Sugar Foods: Candy, cookies, and sugary drinks can lead to energy crashes and worsen mood swings.
Salty Snacks: Potato chips and other salty foods can increase bloating and water retention.
Caffeinated Beverages: Excess caffeine can contribute to dehydration and worsen cramps.
Heavy or Greasy Foods: Fried foods and rich, fatty dishes can be harder to digest and may make you feel more sluggish.

Hi Cianna, just wanted to say I really admire your study ethic and general vibe on this blog (you inspire me to do better!)
Do you have any advice/tips for good study habits and staying focused? I find that I get some work done, but after a break I can't get back on track
Sorry for the long ask/ studyblr type of question;; what is your favourite hairstyle that you do with your hair! (I also have curly brown hair :)
Have a lovely day also <3
🌻🌻
hi! i touch on a lot of points in this other ask, but a few specific learning techniques i abide by are:
parkinson's law. parkinson's law states that work expands to fill the time. basically if you have an essay that's due in a week, it will magically take you one week to get it done, even if the task itself could've been done in one day. to counter this i just set artifical deadlines for myself--even if an essay is due in a week, my personal deadline has it due in two days.
prime your brain prior to learning. if you need to study a biology chapter, pre-skim it the night before. this is not the time to go into detail--it's the time to familiarize yourself with the overview of the topic, so you should only be making a quick scan of the chapter. another priming method is to make a concept map of topics before diving into a chapter. as you skim write down key terms haphazardly, google those you don't recognize, and draw a concept map linking them together. this is effective bc it requires you to actually put effort into connecting the topics, takes no longer than 15 minutes, and speeds up the learning process that follows. it doesn't matter if you find out you're wrong once you dive in; what's important is you're actively thinking of how these topics coexist, as opposed to mindlessly taking notes or highlighting only to forget what you learned a couple hours later. i'm also a fan of concept maps bc i get to go back and highlight stuff i'm weak in, which is always a plus.
if you like to take notes, use it as another means of active recall. don't just passively take notes as you go along. what i like to do is i read a paragraph, close the book, then try to take down notes based off memory alone. this helps me both phrase the topic in my own words and realize what my learning gaps are, rather than just passively summarize without putting effort into truly understanding/memorizing something. anything i get wrong i hammer into my brain until i can't get it wrong anymore.
take notes effectively. our brain does not learn in sentences and paragraphs. it learns in bullet points, diagrams, and figures--and that's how i like to frame my notes. first i ask myself if i actually need to take notes to begin with, or if there are online notes out there i can use to save time (which, as a stem student, there typically are). if i do decide to take notes, i never mindlessly summarize. i always condense the material into bullet points, diagrams, concept maps, or visual representations. i also like to phrase my notes as questions rather than just passive summaries, so that when i review them i'm already testing myself in a way. most people would not understand my notes bc they're either very low-yield stuff, stuff i'm weak in, or bare-bones fragments of information.
always prioritize weaknesses. if you're weaker at chapter 18 of your textbook vs chapter 1, maybe start with chapter 18. don't spend 6 hours taking notes on chapter 1 if you're already strong in chapter 1. always attack your weaknesses first.
practice practice practice!! so so important. i owe all my As to mock exams, quizzes i make myself, end-of-chapter questions etc etc. imo practice matters a lot more than passive content review.
interleaving concepts helps with retention. an example of this is i like to do biology and chemistry one day, biochemistry and organic chemistry the next day, physics and psychology the day after... i'm not just doing biology all day, every day. another thing i like to do if i'm in a massive rut is i hop between tons of different subjects on the same day, which keeps me from getting bored/helps me understand the subjects better through distinguishing their differences.
retrospective timetable. an example of this is if i find i'm pretty weak in a particular physics topic, the next few days will disproportionately focus on physics over other subjects. inversely, if i just breezed through a biology chapter, the next few days will have less biology than initially planned. i'm constantly going back and revising my study timetable based on my performance of the day, rather than relying on a rigid prospective timetable that doesn't take into account my progress.
less passive learning, more active. spaced repetition is a big one. i love anki for this bc there's an algorithm that dictates how often topics come up again based on how well you answer them. other methods include active recall, having friends quiz you, and trying to teach the topic to others (or the plushie in your bedroom haha). if you find you're struggling to simplify topics and explain them, that's a sign you don't understand them very well yourself.

Hihi! Can we have some transH-EDS tips and transproxy tips? :3
YES YOU MAY!!! i'm very excited to do this post because as much as i enjoy being a dick sometimes for shits and giggles its just as nice to help people out
transH-EDS tips: if you want to focus on gaining some mobility in your joints doing stretches might increase your range of motion in a safe way, but don't push yourself too hard and risk injury for things related to treatments some exercises i do in physical therapy for H-EDS are: going up and down stairs for knee strength, i have major knee weakness and hypermobility so thats one of my biggest focuses doing squats with proper form and making sure to keep my legs hip width apart when picking things up i also do sit ups for my core strength and i personally to collar bone workouts on youtube for shoulder strength drink a lot of water!, people with H-EDS have issues with water retention also if you're feeling dysphoric about being trans-H-EDS i'd recommend making or buying ring splints, they're pretty cheap and aren't in any shortage, but you can make them yourself as well based on images or tutorial with the right thickness of wire. Transproxy tips: this is just based on personal things our creepypasta fictives experienced in source and our experience from when we were convinced the proxies were stalking us learn about foraging, a lot of our fictives remember having to study foraging when food was low on missions, but be careful and learn look alikes strength and endurance training for increased ability teach yourself self-defense or take classes for it, maybe if you can find someone to spar with you, you can learn that way thats about it for our tips for this but good luck with your transition!

I studied cosmetic chemistry, so these are some skincare tips I'd recommend!
For acne- Acne can be either inflammatory (looks red and irritated) or noninflammatory (bumps, blackheads, comedonal). Sometimes facial hair (yes, even on us girlies) can cause pimples to form, so you may want to seek hair removal treatments if you notice acne forming around where your face is hairiest. If you're experiencing the former, it could be caused from horomones, stress, + outdoor pollution. Try finding topical products with benzoyl peroxide. If the latter, it could be a reaction from skincare products that you're currently using, + having a diet high in sugars (high GI)/oily foods. These guys are tough to get rid of (may take a few weeks). I'd recommend finding a topical product with salicyilic acid. Do note that since these products aim to dry up sebum, your face might feel dryer. Make sure you're not overdoing skincare routines; be sure to change pillow cases, and not doing anything to cause too much friction on your face, since this can cause acne! I also love pimple patches (Hero cosmetics). They create a good environment for the skin to recover from acne while also absorbing extra sebum. I'd avoid oral medicine for acne since they can be very abrasive on your gut. For acne scars, products with retinol may help.
For dark circles- I personally don't have dark circles, but what may help you are topical products that contain Vitamin C, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, or caffeine. These ingredients are humectants, so they help hydrate your under eye area! Water retention seems to be the key in combating this effect, along with good rest. I wouldn't break the bank with an eyecream. Their formulation is very similar to facial cream, so you're just buying a glorified face cream. Interestingly, it also seems that low levels of B12 can cause dark circles, due to poor blood circulation. You can take B12 as a supplement if you don't eat animal products, or you can eat animal products that you like with higher B12 content.
For redness- If inflammation is the problem, you may find moisturizers with aloe vera or oatmeal to help! As we approach the colder seasons, be sure to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized! Maybe taking a cold, damp face towel and laying it on your face may help. Antioxidants are also great with reducing inflammation. You may find that green tea and turmeric/ginger tea to be very helpful (do note that green tea contains caffeine, if you're sensitive/try to avoid it).
Lastly, when buying skincare products, try not to buy multiple products that have the same active ingredients (ex. buying a facial cleanser, moisturizer, and serum that all have salicylic acid. This may irritate your skin).
I hope this helps! <3
God bless you!!
Honestly, this and the comments on my post have given me so much amazing advice and I cannot thank everyone enough! I’m taking so much on board and can’t wait to give you all some updates🤍

How To Lose Weight Fast For Women – 10 Best Ways
Tumblr media
If you are wondering how to lose weight fast at home, the thing is that it can get tricky — especially if you are a woman. Menopause, hormonal ups and downs, childbirth, surgery, medications, and body types can cause sluggish metabolism. If you are worried about how to lose weight fast in a healthy way, then fortunately, there are ways in which you can put your body into fat-burning mode by following certain ways. Continue reading the article below to know the 21 best tips for weight loss.
Eat Mindfully
1. Have You Tried Intermittent Fasting?
Tumblr media
No? You must! Intermittent fasting or IF works wonders for women (and men).
According to a YouGov survey conducted among 1,241 adults in the United States, a majority of Americans have made changes to their diet for weight loss (56%) or to improve their physical health (54%). Among those who have attempted intermittent fasting for weight loss, nearly 87% claim it to be very effective (50%) or somewhat effective (37%) in helping them shed pounds. Additionally, individuals who have tried intermittent fasting perceive it to be more affordable (80%) rather than costly (18%).
Talk to your doctor before trying intermittent fasting if you have diabetes, hypoglycemiai  , high blood pressure, or any other medical condition.
Note: This diet must always be done under the supervision of your dietitian. If done incorrectly, you may not see the desired results even though it is accepted as the fastest way to lose weight for women by many. The actual plan would vary from person to person.
2. Proteins, Fats, And Dietary Fiber – The Best Combo
A suitable diet is a major factor in determining the effectiveness of your weight loss plans. What you eat reflects on your body and thus you must do your research and watch what you eat to achieve the best results. That said, it is important to know how different diet plans affect your body differently. The graph below illustrates how some basic diets affect your total body weight.
3. Drink Enough Water
If you are wondering how to achieve fast weight loss at home for females, this is a simple yet effective way. Hydrate yourself. The lack of sufficient water intake might be one of the reasons you are not losing the unwanted flab. Water helps to hydrate your body and flush out toxins. This, in turn, helps boost metabolism and promotes weight loss.
4. Practice Portion Control
Portion control is key to losing weight without depriving yourself of delicious foods. It essentially means limiting the amount of foods you consume. Controlling your portions can help you shed the pounds like magic.
You can also enjoy high-calorie foods in limited amounts. But you must maintain your total daily calorie intake. If you are supposed to consume 1500 calories per day to lose weight, make sure that you do not cross that limit.

5. Get Low On Sugar And Salt
Tumblr media
Both sugar and salt are killers in high amounts. And guess what? Most of us are guilty of consuming too much sugar and salt in our food.
Excess salt in food causes water retention in the body. If not kept in check, it might cause your blood pressure to shoot up. On the other hand, excess sugar increases sugar levels in your blood, causes insulin resistancei  , and gets stored as fat in your body.
Avoid adding too much salt and sugar in your food. Also, beware of hidden salt and sugar in potato wafers, fries, fried chicken, pickles, jerky, sausages, soda, cakes, pastries, ice cream, cheese, buttermilk, salted nuts, garlic salt, celery salt, barbeque sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, sweet chili sauce, and chocolate.
6. Artificial Sweeteners? No Way!
If calorie counting was the only thing that mattered for weight loss, you wouldn’t gain weight drinking diet soda. There are numerous scientific studies that discourage you from consuming artificial sugar. Here’s why.
It might cause weight gain and brain tumor (8). There is no conclusive evidence that artificial sweetener has health benefits.
The report also says, “Pregnant and lactating women, children, diabetics, migraine, and epilepsy patients represent the susceptible population to the adverse effects of NNSi  -containing products and should use these products with utmost caution (9).”
We advise you to avoid consuming artificial sweeteners. Use honey, jaggery, and dark brown sugar instead.
7. Careful With The Sauces And Dressings
Sauces and dressings need special mention. Although the problem is the same – high salt, sugar, food additives, and food preservatives – they need special mention because we do not pay attention.
Salads, fries, roast chicken, nachos, and all things delicious are because of dressings and condiments. If you take a quick look at the food labels, you will be surprised to know the amount of salt and sugar they contain. Look for chemicals like monosodium glutamate, aspartame, sodium sulfite, high fructose corn syrup, sulfur dioxide, potassium bromate, butylated hydroxyanisolei  (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluenei  (BHT).
8. Limit Alcohol Consumption
Don’t get me wrong. Once in a while, it is perfectly fine. Avoid consuming it every day and/or in excessive amounts. Alcohol gets converted into sugar in the body, which gets stored as fat if you do not burn it by working out.
Alcohol also causes dehydration, thereby slowing down your metabolism. Have a glass of wine if you really feel like it. Avoid frequent heavy drinking.
9. Detox Once Every Week
Detoxing is not an option anymore. The food habits, quality of food, weekend parties, and other lifestyle choices make detoxing once or twice a week essential.
Go on a juice diet for a day. Make sure you make the juices at home or get cold pressed juice. Do not remove the pulp if you want the dietary fiber. If you have IBS/IBD, strain out the pulp.
Note: Vegetable juices are a better option than fruit juices.
10. Hungry? Do The Broccoli Test
Tumblr media
How often do you feel hungry? If it’s too often, it’s a problem. One simple way to tell whether you are really hungry or not is to do the “broccoli test”. All you have to do is imagine broccoli when you feel you are hungry.
If you do not feel hungry after imagining the broccoli, you are probably not hungry. But if you still feel hungry, you should have a portion controlled meal.

HAIR TIPS
🎀 when it comes to retaining length, wearing stretched styles (twist outs, braid outs/braid waves, flexi/perm rod sets) are imperative. I mostly wear braid outs almost exclusively now. With curly hair, the longer your hair gets, the more tangles and knots that will occur when wearing hair in a shrunken state too much. I usually lightly spritz my hair, add conditioner, use a little serum or grease, and then braid my hair. Sometimes I’ll add flexi rods at the ends so the ends will be curly.
🎀 easy/low maintenance styles help with cutting time in regards to doing your hair, it also helps with retention because you’re manipulating your hair less. I recommend twist/braid outs or rod sets because they can last a few days to a week, you’re still able to have access to your hair and moisturize when needed, and they don’t put harsh tension on the hair. A wash and set once a week (like our grandmas and aunties) will help that hair grow
🎀 using an old t-shirt (instead of a towel) to dry hair cuts down on frizz, tangles, and dryness. It soaks up excess moisture without drying the hair out too much.
🎀 wet, curly hair is weak and fragile. I personally don’t style or detangle on wet hair, but damp or 70% dry. Damp styling allows the hair to absorb product better versus when your hair is soaking wet. With soaking wet hair, product doesn’t absorb as much because the hair is full of water. However, if you primary “wet” style, you can use less product since the water dilutes it. Also, if a product is water based, you can use it on dry hair (or add a little water to your hands and run it over your hair before applying product).
🎀 I don’t personally believe in brushing wet, curly hair. Some people do wet style with brushes (wet brush, denman brush, tangle teezer , etc), but I found it to be damaging to my hair. I feel like it rips the hair out, and thins it over time leaving you with splits and mild breakage. If your hair is fragile or fine, I recommend raking product through the hair instead of a brush, or using the “praying hands” method.
🎀 if you have curly hair, putting your hair in a low ponytail after washing can help stretch the hair if you don’t have the time to twist or braid. Drying the hair in a low ponytail or 1-2 braids keeps single strand knots at bay
🎀 if you wear wash and go’s, water and conditioner are your best friend. Conditioners can be good moisturizers and stylers (especially if you haven’t found your holy grail
Product yet) however, You have to wash more frequently with a wash and go, because product typically evaporates after 3-4 days. Every day = more shed hair, so try not to go more than 5 days with the style.
🎀 a lot of curlies use gel. If you use gel make sure that it doesn’t dry out your hair, and make sure to keep it away from your hairline. Using gel can make your hair crunchy, which is a gel cast that helps curls set. If the hair is too hard you can use an oil or a serum to break that cast. Also, most gels can be reactivated with water, so you don’t have to apply more gel on top of gel. Just reactivate and style your hair like you want
🎀 Silicone free conditioners can be good for cowashing, but they can lack slip and protection from the elements. If your hair is fine and doesn’t like heavy products, silicone free may be best for you. Conditioners WITH silicone can build up if used too much, but they provide slip and a protective coat over the hair to protect it from the elements . And if you’re a curly girl, silicone is important because it cuts down on frizz and weighs the hair down. If you do use conditioners with silicone, make sure you shampoo once a week or every two weeks

(( leaves a bento at his desk and tip-toes away ))
@deathonate has given Mr. Aizawa a gift.
As Katsuki tried to sneak his way out of the classroom, the door slid open before the teenager had even reached it. Upon the sight of him, Shota took a step backwards to allow Bakugo to make his exit. Dark eyes moved from his student and then past him and over to the bento that sat on the desk. "Bakugo," came Shota's low rumble of a voice, obsidian eyes shifting to meet Katsuki's rubies. Shota was sure that the bento had to have been placed there on purpose. He was one of Aizawa's more retentive students, and it was unlikely that Bakugo had forgotten it. But Shota had to have some sort of confirmation.
"Did...did you leave that for me? Or did you forget your lunch?"

How can I lose 3.5 kg in a week without exercise
Losing 3.5 kg (approximately 7.7 lbs) in a week without exercise is an ambitious goal and can be challenging. It requires a very strict dietary approach and should be done with caution. Here are some strategies to help you achieve this goal safely:
Dietary Strategies
Caloric Deficit:
Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): Use an online BMR calculator to determine the number of calories your body needs at rest.
Create a Caloric Deficit: To lose weight, you need to consume fewer calories than your BMR. A deficit of 500-1000 calories per day can result in a loss of 0.5-1 kg per week. For 3.5 kg, you might need a larger deficit, but it should not be too extreme.
Low-Carb Diet:
Reduce Carbohydrates: Cutting down on carbs can help you lose water weight quickly. Focus on vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
Avoid Sugary and Starchy Foods: Eliminate foods like bread, pasta, rice, and sugary snacks.
Tumblr media
High-Protein Diet:
Increase Protein Intake: Protein can help you feel fuller for longer and maintain muscle mass. Include sources like chicken, fish, eggs, tofu, and legumes.
Whole Foods:
Focus on Whole, Unprocessed Foods: These are typically lower in calories and higher in nutrients. Include plenty of vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
Portion Control:
Mind Your Portions: Be mindful of portion sizes and avoid second helpings. Use smaller plates to help control portions.
Hydration:
Drink Plenty of Water: Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger. Drinking water before meals can also help reduce calorie intake.
Other Tips
Avoid High-Calorie Beverages:
Cut Out Sugary Drinks and Alcohol: These can add a significant number of empty calories to your diet.
Eat Mindfully:
Slow Down: Eating slowly can help you feel full faster.
Avoid Distractions: Focus on your meal without distractions like TV or smartphones.
Intermittent Fasting:
Consider Fasting: Intermittent fasting can help reduce calorie intake by limiting the time window in which you eat. For example, an 16:8 fasting window involves eating only within an 8-hour period and fasting for the remaining 16 hours.
Monitoring and Adjustment
Track Your Intake:
Use a Food Diary or App: Tracking what you eat can help you stay within your calorie goals.
Monitor Your Progress:
Weigh Yourself Daily: This can help you stay on track, but remember that daily weight can fluctuate due to water retention and other factors.
Health Considerations
Consult a Professional: Before starting any extreme diet, consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian to ensure it's safe for you.
Watch for Side Effects: Rapid weight loss can lead to side effects such as fatigue, irritability, headaches, and dizziness. If you experience severe side effects, seek medical advice.
Conclusion
Losing 3.5 kg in a week without exercise is an aggressive goal and requires strict dietary changes. While it is possible to achieve significant weight loss in a short time, it is important to do so safely and sustainably. Prioritize your health and well-being, and consider a more gradual approach for long-term success.

after 8 months, i reached my ugw. someone asked for some tips so i figured i’d make a post :)
TIPS FOR REACHING YOUR UGW:
—vary your calories and have 2 maintenance days a week. this is really important to prevent slowing your metabolism and also helps with preventing binges!
—drink LOTS of water. i drink 2L a day. it helps with water retention, digestion, and makes you feel fuller
—volume eating. eating a lot of low calorie food versus eating a small amount of high calorie food will help with feeling fuller
—eat protein! it keeps you full and gives you energy
—get 8 hours of sleep a night. it helps with metabolism, water retention, and will make you feel more energetic
—stay active but have realistic goals. if you’re a student like me, chances are you might not have a lot of time to work out. aim for a daily minimum step count that is doable for you
—if you binge, eat at maintenance the next day. it’s tempting to just fast the next day to “make up for it”, but this will lead to another binge. i got stuck in a binge-restrict cycle for 2 months and lost no weight at all due to it
—laxatives don’t calorie purge, it’s not worth it
—if you HAVE to purge, do it via exercise
—getting an apple watch that tracks how many calories i burn a day helps so much (but i know that’s not an option for everyone)
—working out at an incline burns SO many more calories. if you’re at the gym, do the 12-3-30 (12% incline at 3mph for 30mins). if you don’t have access to a gym, trying walking up and down stairs or walking uphill
—have planned binge days every 3 months. this helped me from having unexpected binges and kept me motivated to just keep restricting so that i can enjoy food on my binge day
i want to end this post by saying: please be kind and patient to yourself. you deserve happiness
