silly headcannon #2 that Bruce never got the reference that Jason always made of himself being short round (he always thought it was Jason saying he was short) until after he died and Tim, avid Indiana Jones fan made Bruce watch the movies with him, only the man breaks out crying., sobbing, full on breaking down over the two second scene that is Indy ruffling Short Round’s hair as he explains they first met when he caught the kid stealing from him, and then took him under his wing.

This might be my favourite cover because for one thing it gets me invested in the potential story like WHY is Cass in jail. I can think of a thousand reasons why people would want to arrest her but why has she let them, that's the part I'm most intrigued by.

Secondly, Cass looks so much like Shiva here that I'm pretty sure her mugshot would give Bruce a jump scare.

i have this headcanon that Bruce still calls Dick Robin or Boy Wonder when they work together and he still calls Babs Batgirl from time to time because to him they are.

Hearing Dick crack a joke while doing a flip and karate chopping a goon flies him back in time to when it was just the two of them, the Batman and Robin days

When Babs crackles in his comm with information and maybe a quick quipp, thats batgirl in his ear, scolding him for getting hurt

And Dick might not show any outward shift at the name, might not do more than follow the barked order of 'robin on your left!' and babs wont remark the different name, the 'thank you batgirl' instead of oracle, but maybe Dick stands a little straighter, maybe Babs sits up a little, preens

Because to them Bruce isn't this maniac who kidnapped express adopted a bunch of children, he's just bruce. their bruce. their batman. And they are his Batgirl and Robin. His Boy and Girl Wonder.

judith/camilla (the ‘we’re both in love with other people but that’s a sore subject right now’ pity squad. and also they kiss each other about it)

marta/dulcinea (the soldier who’s never been allowed to stop and look at pretty things vs the pretty thing that keeps looking at her. two people who rejected the ones who could have been right for them and have to figure out whatever the hell you do next)

abigail/cytherea (the way abigial historicized and anthropologized cyth’s whole life and never realized that she had the real damn thing right in front of her. like finding a well-preserved fossil only to discover that the dinosaur that left it is still alive and right behind you. scholastic psychosexual murder-flavored bonding)

colum/mercymorn (the bred and built battery of the eighth and the mourning woman who created that culture finally meet. what happens next may shock you! [traumatized sex])

one thing I like about tazmuir as an author is that at any given time she will be like "here is a character," and I will think "that's nice, but I don't care. please return me to my beautiful Gideon" and then she'll be like "no. look at this other character under a microscope. they are so fucked up and full of love in such specific ways. probably they are bad at sex also." and I make a shocked face and welcome them into the pantheon in my heart, still waiting to hear from my beautiful gideon, at which point tazmuir will show me another character. and then.

there’s a lot of interesting stuff that can be made by examining the objectively scary stuff the robins face in a realistic light, but also? i really like the robins making trauma jokes. humor’s a coping mechanism that makes a lot of sense for them, given their previous role as the lighter side of batman. and, perhaps more importantly, i think it’s funny

Dick: did you just house an entire family-sized bag of chips? by yourself, in less than an hour?

Jason: as an orphan, i qualify as a family of one

Steph: but you died too, so that would make you a family of zero

Damian: multiple of us have died. it doesn’t make anyone special. i, however, am naturally special, on account of being heir to the batman

Steph: ah, heck. well, i’m no longer special, guess it’s time to fake my death and flee to africa

Dick: are you really heir to the batman, though, if bruce kicking it anytime soon would just put me in the cowl? which is a terrible job, by the way, to which nobody should brag about being heir?
