Imagine me buying you a chew toy all of a sudden, just a cute little chew toy, watching you bite away at it, looking so adorable as you chew. My hand reaching down and beginning to pet you, you know it should be weird, should feel degrading, but instead it just feels so right. I find it so funny how when i scroll through tags like ‘trans puppy’ or ‘t4t puppy’ and see all the little trans puppy boys and girls i can immediately tell what breed of dog they are.

Is that weird to say? Kinda. Lemme explain.

Some of you sit there all happy and giddy to serve and please, youre golden retriever coded.

Some of you are loud and noisy with large amounts of energy but you can be calmed and soothed with some play time, youre husky coded.

Some of you love the idea of being a working dog, working so hard to please your owners and being such good boys and girls for your owners, youre german shepherd coded.

So on so forth with so many different types, its so fun to me to find a post and be like “yea this ones black lab coded” or “this ones poodle coded”

This spring my college is presenting a production that has one of the roles playing a puppy. I audition and to nobodies surprise get cast as the dog. No big deal, it’s even a fun role! I’m expecting a fun filled but challenging show.

What am I not expecting? People getting a kick out of it.

I’ve been told “thank you for fetching that for me” after grabbing something for them.

“Go off stage dog.” By a friend I roughhouse in the wings with and my personal favorite.

“You gotta do it doggystyle” when trying to give me comedic direction. (The director didn’t register what she had said till it left her lips and we were all on the floor laughing)

It’s all in good fun and I’m really enjoying the roll I just get shocked every time they jokingly treat me like a dog.

It just genuinely makes me giggle, like they don’t know that yes, I am in fact the dog ever actually.

How else do you think I got this role?
