Hey everyone, I'm back from hiatus (kind of), and I decided to make something cool looking about my favorite background witch, Sarah Bernhardt!

In this, it's based on a theory of mine where witches turn into huge monstrous versions of themselves when they're really pissed off and/or at their limits of tolerating something that's getting to them. For Sarah, I wanted to make her hair act like act like fire and make it be able to set things on fire if it touches them, as well as have her hands catch fire for extra intimidation points! Kind of like Asmodeus from Helluva Boss when he gets super pissed off.

And yes, I know that it's not literal transformation in canon and more just emphasis and a silly way to show anger, but I don't care. I think this is cool, and I hope to try this out with more background witches, and then maybe Akko?

Yeah, Chloé knows she's screwed this time. Maybe she'll think twice before she decides to bother Diana for the trillionth time and making her and Elfriede look bad by association? Just saying, you know?

following avemuji 11 i think it’s really funny that the uisaki (hatsaki?) fandom (and the fandom in general) is going nuts about the reveal. like guys lets all take a breath and think about this.

on the one hand, i can kind of get being mad at bushiroad for the random ass “they’re related” bit. and i suppose that them being related doesn’t change the story, so why did they make it that way? hatsune is OBSESSIVE and all they did was make the obsession "weird"/ more defined by making them related. she's obsessed with sakiko because hatsune wanted to have that same relationship with sakiko, because she was being gatekept. they mention this multiple times in the episode, if that helps.

"there was no foreshadowing to this!" idk guys. that two uika theorist got it pretty bang on like 5 episodes ago. if you come across this post i love you btw because as weird and outlandish your theory was, you were right.

as a fandom we’ve already witnessed so much in the last 10 episodes. canon DID, inferiority complexes, alcohol as a way to cope, essentially a homeless minor, stupid awful minami mori, so why is hatsune being obsessive different? because they didn't confirm your ship? oh no!

“it’s queerbaiting” i hate to break it to you but i think that people are allowed to be obsessed with something they socially shouldn’t be obsessed with without it being yuri. even though we were all pinning it to be such, it wouldn't change the plot at all. you know. the same way you're all saying that hatsune and sakiko being related doesn't change the plot. real queerbaiting was little witch academia and the anime adaptation of bloom into you.

on the other hand, bandori already has a history of a girl being obsessed with a relative (for example, the hikawa twins from ogdori) and i guess this comes as a shock to avemygo fans, but to some fans from 2017-2020? we’re surprised?

so for any of you guys still shipping uisaki, i’m right here with you all. at the end of the day, they're fictional characters. embrace your inner freak. ship uisaki.

Rewatching a bit of Little Witch Academia, and I find myself reminded of my theory that Chariot having what is literally a lightsaber spell is NOT in fact super complex spell with an in-depth background.

But rather simply the result of Chariot Du Nord having been a massive Star Wars nerd growing up and thinking it would be super super COOL to have a lightsaber spell.

Like I have no doubt the full incantation for this spell is either “May the Force be with you” in old Gaelic or Latin, or just the lyrics to Duel of the Fates.

Do you have any headcanons about certain members of the House of Black?

House of Black Headcanons

I have far too many, dearest star, hence what I had thought would be a little 50K fanfic turned into the ongoing 200K + beast that has taken over my life outside of academia.

I feel like I could spend hours, until Merlin comes again, compiling all of the headcanons for each member because trust I have thought about them ALL.

Something that makes it easier for me to manage all of these headcanons for this family is archetyping.

And it all starts with the number 3.

What some, in the wizarding world, might think of as "foul, creepy Black Family practices" is literally just them sticking to their roots as witches and wizards. In a way, it is another aspect of them living to the family motto Toujours Pur--their blood AND their magic shall always be pure.

Their practises are very pagan-like, traditional, outside the bounds of the morally acceptable magical craft. Therefore, I have headcanoned them to dabble in things like sentient magical homes, blood magic, blood pacts for intermarriage with other pureblood families, archiving family histories and grimoires and research. They have an ancient practice of reading the Tapestry in Grimmauld to divine family progress and futures and to read about the past. They venerate their ancestors before the Tapestry. When they die, they come back as portraits so that they will always have a means of communication between the dead and the living, thus immortalising them in some way. They are famed in astrology and astronomy, charms and transfigurations. They thrive with potions because they have access to knowledge of multicultural ingredients that are otherwise known as illegal by modern wizarding standards. And finally, they always consider numerology.

Numerology and the Black Family go hand in hand to me. It is the branch of knowledge that entails conspiring with occult significances of numbers.

If we look at the canon Black family tree, we can see that a good amount of them have an heir and a spare or aim to have at least three children. Three is birth-life-death. It is mind-body-soul. It is the Earth-Sun-Moon. It is completeness, harmony, wealth, balance. To the Black Family, the number three is safe.

As fun as it is to deduce these sibling/cousin (because... incest) dynamics to Eldest-Middle-Youngest child theory, I like to see it as something else, which I've touched on in Everything Matter's Ch. XX:

Star-Saint-Snake OR Star-Snake-Saint OR Saint-Snake-Star

These three archetypes are how I choose to sort them and manage my headcanons because as unique as everyone's personality can be, this family is a hivemind. We see it with Sirius even after being sorted into Gryffindor and being socialised with "good" people, he still exhibits classical Black family traits. But I digress.

Star:

Named after a celestial being and is usually the first-born child, therefore the heir.

Pressured by the burdens of being the eldest, the heir or having to be the child that steps up to the expectations of what it means to be a Black.

Usually, the one who continues the main branch of the family name.

Is extremely naturally intelligent, skilled in one particular field of magic despite being well-rounded as per their family customs.

These children are stubborn, confident, bold and firm--they literally the foundations of the generation.

Some examples: Sirius Orion Black, Bellatrix Lestrange (nee Black), Walburga Irene Black, Pollux Black.

Saint:

Usually not named after a celestial being but if they are, the meaning is far more in tune with the definition/role of a saint.

These are the children who are usually the second-born or youngest, the ones who strive and aspire to be as seen and desired as the heir/star, or at the very least acknowledged in some way.

This role is often given to daughters, those who will carry on the family name through blood.

These children are true jack of all trades and masters of none--they are emotional, the healers, the observers, the giver even when no one asked them to.

In Catholicism, to be canonised as a saint one must have at least two out of the three great miracles: the resurrection of the dead, the complete cure (reconstruction of a person judged to be incurable) or curing of an illness. These children often have performed these miracles without them knowing on a small scale with few witnesses and therefore will not be seen as the saints that they are.

Some examples:

Regulus Arcturus Black (survives 1979 and has a child); Narcissa E. Black (could read the Tapestry, is gifted in healing magic, has a child); OC Vérene Rasalas Black (has literally done all of the above)

And finally, we have Snakes:

These are the ever changing, quietly or loudly rebellious children who are neither the first nor second choice.

They have more freedom than their siblings but are still carrying the weight of family laws, expectations, and are often forgotten or neglected.

They can be named after anything and thus they can become anything, names have power, I fear.

These are the children who appear to be the generational curse breakers and have the potential to succeed if they are able to continue to withstand and unlearn their family's inherited traits/teachings.

They are cunning, resilient and are often the backbones of their sibling/generational unit because they turn to career fields that help build and maintain connections within the wizarding world, all for the sake of their family.

Some examples: Cassiopeia Black, Alphard Pollux Black, Andromeda Tonks (nee Black)

The best part about these archetypes is that at some point in their lives they will each have fallen into the roles of either being a Saint, Snake or a Star--regardless of their gender and sexual orientation and the path that they stride.

Sirius was raised a Star and became a Snake.

Walburga was raised a Saint, became a Star, reverted back into a Saint.

Alphard was raised a Star and became a Snake.

Cygnus was a Snake and wanted to be a Saint.

Cassiopeia was raised a Saint and became a Snake.

Regulus was raised a Snake, became a Saint, turned into a Star.

Orion was raised a Snake and became a Star.

Narcissa was raised a Snake and became a Saint.

Bellatrix was raised a Saint and became a Star.

Andromeda was raised a Snake and became a Star.

Vérene is the literal embodiment of a Saint but depending on the circumstances weaves in and out of being a Snake and Star.

I could write an entire thesis on each of these archetypes and their complexities, and I probably will because this post is just scratching at the surface of it.

With all of this being said, I feel like I should lighten the mood with some lighter headcanons because yes, even in toxic/abusive households, love once lived there:

Pollux was born the only surviving twin, and their sibling would have been named Castor -- two years later, he was given a little sister named Cassiopeia. They complete one another in ways that only they will understand, is if Castor was reborn to join Pollux. Where Pollux is of dark grey eyes, black hair, warm toned pale skin, Cassiopeia is of light blue/grey eyes, pale blonde hair, cool toned pale skin. They contrast and complement one another beautifully. Plus, they love to gossip, they can do so like how twins just know each other.

Cassiopeia was aro/ace.

Pollux was highly skilled in Alchemy and Charms. Cass was highly skilled in craft-related transfiguration magic, like knot and weaving magic. (She is a highly qualified seamstress and sells magically imbued clothing wear; tends to make items for the family so that they will always have a piece of the family's magic with them).

Where you saw Pollux with Cass, you saw Marius with Dorea. Even without magic, Marius Black was skilled in potion making and translated many things that required corporeal magic into something that he could use. Thus, his potions turned into making tinctures and later with the use of more mundane/muggle ingredients he became something of akin to a herbalist. He had been the one to help Dorea with her studies at home and briefly her homework from Hogwarts.

On that note, yes, Marius Black ran away. Only then do I believe was he scorched from the Tapestry because even though it was such a shame that he did not have magic he was still their blood. He later married a muggle woman named Lucille Florence and together they had a girl named Aster Carintha Black (the recessive magical carrier that starts a muggleborn family line that will be explored in the sequel of Everything Matters).

Orion and Alphard were born in the same year (1929), just as Lucretia and Walburga were (1925). Their nicknames were Barnebe, Al, Lucy and Wal.

Orion had the fattest crush on Walburga. It's true I was there.

Walburga, who was on the path of a Star as her father's first Heir Apparent, who later turned Saint, carried a lot of guilt and shame for liking her cousin and for the way she tended to look at girls at school as well.

Walburga was a daddy's girl, Pollux's favourite. Alphard was Irma's favourite but became Cassiopeia's boy. Cygnus was a mama's boy but was also raised by Walburga. Orion was his big sister, Lucretia's boy. Lucretia was Arcturus's dear girl until she married a Prewett.

Alphard was highly skilled in Memory Magic, creating subsections of the branch of study that are nearly unheard of or no longer in practice. Walburga was highly skilled in Divination but was not allowed to pursue a career in it even as a gifted Seer. Orion was highly skilled in Arithmancy.

Arcturus (Son of Sirius and Hesper) was one sour little boy but gods, his brothers Lycoris and Regulus loved him so much despite it. Lycoris was fun-loving and Regulus was a metamorphmagus who often morphed into family members while at school to attend their classes (you can imagine how tired the staff must have been). Arcturus was never truly the same after they died. Both of them came back as portraits after their death and prefer to live with their grumpy big brother still.

Sirius I Black (1845-1853) was a charismatic and sweet boy known for his musical ear. He did not have a portrait and came back as a ghost because of his sudden death. He tends to play the piano at family events and is both inquisitive and shy.

Elladora Black is the reason why we have The Hall of Elladora in House Lycoreia, the first ancestral home of the Blacks, located Blackpool.

Phineas Nigellus Black was an undiagnosed autistic man, I cannot make this up, Hogwarts Legacy has showed me things I cannot unsee or hear.

Queerness and Neurodivergence run rampant in this entire family. These things really can be hereditary :)

I kinda realized I never really introduced myself, so uh, hi!

My name is Echo :D I am pansexual and genderfluid, as for pronouns, I have no preferences, just don't call me an 'attack helicopter' and we'll be chillin'

I am 16, currently in Junior year, actually really enjoying it right now!

In most of my DR's my name is Eleanor, which is why its my user! I just feel connected to both names

I have olive-green eyes

I have been singing/playing guitar/acting for around 10 years and I danced for 8 years (still dance for theater and funsies)

I play acoustic, electric, and a little bass

I am in a band as a lead singer and guitarist, we are called "Vessels of Rebirth"!!!

I am an alto-soprano! which is very fun as I can sing very diverse styles of music (my favorites being folk, rock, and gospel)

I am a Christian and follower of God, to whom I love dearly

Although I am a Christian, I do a lot of tarot reading, and I also see and speak with the deceased as well as have prophetic dreams on occasion. I currently have 3 spirits residing in my house, they are quite nice! (Also if you guys have any suggestions on incense please let me know! I need to add to my stash)

I do a ton of art, whether it be sewing, drawing, painting, photography, or making things out of materials, you will always find me with a new project (I'm currently working on a plushie bee for my friend in my Java class!!)

Speaking of java I am loving coding, that shit is cool

At the moment, I am leading in two shows (one is a murder mystery comedy, like clue, where the audience decides who the murderer is! The second is Spamalot, and I am the female lead, Lady of the Lake!!) I am also in the ensemble of Hadestown and doing crew for Little Mermaid! So a ton of theater stuffs going on (would you believe me if I told you I have 6 different theater-based DR's?? teehee)

I do a ton of reading, I love books; it's one of my dreams to have a Hobbit-inspired book room in my future house, complete with a circle door

I have a massive collection of plushies and stuffed animals, all of which I have named and remember perfectly (I love them sm)

My favorite colors are: forest/emerald green, sunset orange, TEAL!!!, deep purples, navy blue, maroon, pastel yellow, and blue/ashy grey

I am very Portuguese, and I love Portuguese food, my favorite being Bifanas

I have two pets, a 7 year old golden retriever named Ridge and an 11 month old ragdoll cat named Dexter (short for Dexteria, yes I am a DnD nerd)

Speaking of DnD, I am currently DM'ing three campaigns, and I'm in around 10-15 other campaigns, I love DnD a lot, it's one of my favorite hobbies

Onto shifting related stuff!

I have been shifting(minishifting partially, still shifting though!!!) since I was around 8 I guess? I didn't realize that was what I was doing at the time, and around 2021 I found out about shifting through a classmate (who brought it up at the most random time possible, an ELA class lol)

The first actual DR I ever made was a My Hero Academia reality, and by birds all mighty that script was ROUGH

But I still hold it close to my heart, even though it was so cringy

I took a break from shifting for like 7 months to a year at most, I believed in it, I just felt more content in my CR, but now I am at a point where I want to explore and be fully happy and learn and grow as myself!

I had this scrapped virian AU from last year when I was still roleplaying and my friend told me to post it after I just showed them recently.

According to the google doc I wrote it in, it was called “Sacred Barrier”. So here’s that. It’s mostly just little notes and not so much a solid plot but you get it.

SACRED BARRIER.

— dark academia ig??

— set in a time where witches (and the occult in general) were hated, hunted, and burned.

VIOLET.

— violet is a mysterious one. introverted, quiet, shy, and self isolates to ensure her secret is hidden well. in a world where the occult is antagonized, hunted, and executed, violet has powers. a descendant of the super humans before her. invisibility, and powerful telekinetic force fields.

— despite her fears of being seen as a witch, she often carelessly uses her invisibility, with the assumption that no one would see her. she’s gotten comfortable with assuming that she’s well hidden in the shadows.

— violet has a goal, which is to find out anything she can about her occult background. of course, the academy’s library would have some books about them, but she refuses to accept that her kind have only ever been “evil”. she believes that the world turned the tables against them somehow, that humans are hiding the real story. (don’t ask me what “the real story” is rn lmao).

— violet has a bit of a vendetta against humans for the above reason.

— piggyback: violet believes some of her kind might still be out there, but the chances slim. still she hopes.

— like Hermione, she was raised by mortals, humans, muggles even, you get it. bonus points if they’re witch-hunters!

— she always got the notion that /someone/ was watching her, or somehow knew about her secrets. but she assumes it’s just paranoia.

— might give her other powers for this au. to keep it interesting, and for funsies. but idk

alternative idea, might not be used: if i don’t give her more powers, maybe there were different kinds of witches. and because she has force fields, maybe she’s a witch of protection, given not even lava could get through her barriers. but i might give her other powers anyway idk yet

— completely random but definitely plays the violin or viola. probably plays in an empty hallways so it’ll echo.

VARIAN.

• varian is an outcast himself, spends a lot of his time in the academy’s laboratory. the lab is reserved especially for him at a certain time of the day, on account that he was recommended for his grades, unique talent, and level of skill on the subject for his age. no, that unfortunately doesn’t make him a highly respected figure. if anything, he’s disliked for being too privileged, favored, or a kiss-ass. of course, he does have to leave the lab at some point, as it is used by other students during the day.

• while most don’t take notice to violet’s existence, considering she’s invisible half the time, varian has. and made note of apparently seeing her “vanish” from time to time. he suspects she has inhuman abilities, but isn’t 100% sure due to his lack of sleep.

• varian doesn’t antagonize witches like most of the population seems to. he’s very interested in the occult, and envies those who lived before him, as they got to live amongst an abundance of witches in their time. to his dismay, their kind were burned at the stake. the possibility of violet being the very thing he yearns to look into, motivates him to study her from afar to be sure of himself.

• alternative: varian /does/ antagonize witches, much like most of the population. after his first time witnessing violet vanish entirely, he was keen on keeping an eye on her to confirm his theories. as well as possibly discover what other abilities she has.

• setting aside, or adding onto varian’s curiosity about the occult; varian has always been curious about the streak in his hair that he was born with, as well as the sudden disappearance of his mother. after seeing violet’s alleged powers, he wonders if she could somehow be connected, somehow be a piece he’d been missing. witches seemed to have been erased from the world, and as far as he knows, violet is the only one left. (he is most likely a witch/wizard himself).

• let’s say violet manages to touch the streak in varian’s hair. it’d be kinda cool if that triggered something. maybe something useful to them, maybe not. either they see something or even just hear something, voices most likely, voices from the past.

• new thought: if varian used to be a skeptic, and didn’t even believe in the existence of witches.

Hi everyone, I'm back with witches in angry mode~! Yeah in case you didn't know, I have a headcanon that witches become big, scary, and monstrous when angry, based on some stuff from official media. This time of Shao-Yi, a background witch that isn't as well known as Sarah, but still has a lot of fans. Me included!

So for Shao-Yi, I wanted something to compliment her simple yet wonderful design. So I decided to make it seem mystique yet simple. And what's more simple than a giant shadow monster just waiting to drag you into the darkness? I also wanted to make it look intimidating, so I hope this succeeded!

Also, I like to imagine that Shao-Yi is a very nice and patient person, so you have to actively be trying to piss her off!

Or be Amanda and steal her personal family treasures! Which is why she's so furious by the way! But, that's what happens when you steal someone's personal belongings that have such sentimental value to them. So now, Amanda has two choices. Give Shao-Yi her stuff back, or run away and prey Shao-Yi doesn't grab her or catch up. And as you can see, she chose life!

Abby actually wandered into your yard first, curious about you, and very interested in your aesthetic

She asked if you were a fairy, and you shrugged, it was close enough

She would come over after school and help you garden

You would teach her about the herbs and flowers and what they could be used for in potions or other concoctions

Mike was cautious, like he was with everyone, but seeing how gentle and patient you were with Abby softened his walls fast

You started bringing over fresh-baked goods and home-made tea leaves to the two every weekend

He's not always the best with his words, but when he leaned over and said, 'I don't think I've cared about anyone like this in a long time, but I care about you a lot.'

You smiled and put your hand on his, lacing our fingers together

As said, Mike isn't big on words, but he shows his love through actions

Mike is 100% the 'silent comfort' kind of partner

He might not always know what to say when you're overwhelmed, but he'll hand you your favorite comfort item, sit beside you quietly, and make sure your favorite music or show is playing in the background

He would also fix the broken shelf in your kitchen

Write you notes before he goes to work, wishing you a great day

And do the dishes and laundry

He keeps a Polaroid picture of you in his wallet

It's worn around the edges from how often he takes it out to look at it when he's on break

He calls it his lucky charm

(Maybe that was how he and Abby got out of that Fazbear situation?)

He likes to gift you random things you might like

Honestly, this man is a crow; he likes to bring you rocks he thinks you might like, crystals, keychains, stickers, and whatever else reminds him of you

He is very bashful while giving you these things, too

He gets so soft when you fall asleep near him

He doesn't move for hours because he doesn't want to wake you

He likes to read over your shoulder

However, he's not really sneaky about it

Bonus: he gets really invested in whatever you're reading and will ask questions about it later

Pillow forts?

Oh, yeah

"I think the roof needs to be higher."

You're watching classic films - black and white, and Disney or DreamWorks with Abby

Somehow, Mike always catches himself watching you instead

Kisses on the top of your head or temple when you least expect it

He loves taking you to obscure bookstores

You help him process his grief

You teach Abby small magical tricks that are mostly optical illusion crafts

You remind Mike that he is so much more than his past

Just had a thought, but family outings to IKEA are a blast

Swedish meatballs and pretending you're the most outlandish people in the made-up rooms

At the end, you somehow leave with a new desk, Mike has a new lamp, and Abby has a succulent named Terrance

I swear this Yugioh 'Crystal Wind Rin' AU/overall ARC-V rewrite is a freaking rabbit hole of ideas that never ends.

Like now I'm figuring out a way to work in freaking Gundam: The Witch From Mercury references of all things!

Specifically I was thinking of how to give Clear Wing Synchro Dragon a full 'Windwitch' retrain based on White Wing Magician (aka, what we can pretty much assume to be Clear Wing's human form), essentially a hypothetical 'Windwitch - Clear/Crystal Bell' (because Rin is not kidnapped or mind-controlled in this AU, original Crystal Bell has no reason to exist) that largely shares original Clear Wing's stats and effects, except instead of getting an Attack boost from opponent's monsters she negates, she simply burns the opponent's lifepoints for that amount instead, much like other Windwitches.

And I was thinking about what kind of witch's broom she would ride and thought 'You know she's already got Clear Wing's shoulder wings, so what if she has those four large petals on the end of her broom?' And then I thought of that mental image of a winged white witch with a broom that has four large petals on the end that can probably serve as thrusters and thought 'You know what that kinda looks like?'

The freaking Calibarn Gundam.

So now I'm trying to think of an excuse for Crystal Wing and Crystal Clear Wind Synchro Dragon to be sporting Attack Drones. And of course wondering how well Clear Wing and Rin could fit a SuleMio dynamic. Like if nothing else, Clear Wing is probably going to be acting rather Suletta-like in this AU.

And also thinking of a whole sequence where Rin and Crystal Wing go on an absolute rampage against the forces of Academia/Fusion Dimension set to AERIAL REBUILD from G-Witch's OST that is both unsettling and awesome. As well as both paralleling and contrasting Zarc's own rampage with the Dimensional Dragons. Crystal Wing may be enacting total devastation, yet this time she is not the aggressor here. And Rin might be right along with and even participating in this destruction herself, yet she is NOT taking any twisted satisfaction in it like Zarc did. Showcasing how Rin and Crystal/Clear Wing have both influenced each other over the course of their journey together.

Anyway, if you've been wondering why I haven't been posting any Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel or RWBY theory/analysis stuff for a little while... this is why.
