I said that I wrote stuff so I kinda wanted to post a short one shot I wrote-
It was a hot summer day. Mid 100’s. My face was scorched and sweaty from working in the blistering heat. My hands and wrists were sore from carrying the heavy roofing up the ladder. My back ached with agonizing pain, carrying roofing may not seem so bad but when you do it everyday it really takes a toll on ya.
I got at the house I was roofin’ at about eight am, it was now four pm. Boy, was I exhausted. I tried to think about other things to keep my mind away from the fact that my face was getting severely sunburned. I was slightly pondering why I even bothered coming in to work today, but then I remember that I do it for them, my brothers, and I keep going.
My shift was almost over now, I had about one hour left of work. Unfortunately for me I only had two other guys with me today, they were both younger than me so I gave them the okay to take a break. I sighed and climbed down the tall, rickety ladder so I could grab a quick sip of water. I walked over to my bag and got my water but then I overheard something I really didn’t like.
There was a woman and her young kid walking by the house. She looked at me with pure disappointment and disapproval. As if she could judge, I thought bitterly. She leaned down to her kids height and whispered in his ear.
“This is why you don’t slack off in school, Oliver. This is why you go to college.” Her voice was bitter and judgmental.
I could feel my face grow hot, not from the sunburns though, nope, they didn’t bother me anymore. My face was hot from anger. I felt my face tense, my chin clenched and my eyes squinted. I wanted to yell, hell I wanted to scream at her for assuming the worst about me. She had no damn idea how hard I worked, how much I had to give up.
The woman walked off and dragged her son along with her. Her son looked back at me though, his eyes weren’t judgmental. His eyes were big and curious, almost like Pony’s. My face softened and I let myself cool off.
I thought more about why I was doing this, I mean I knew I was doing this job for my brothers but why? Why did it matter so much? I thought of Pony, how he was going to achieve all the things I couldn’t. He was going to do what I wanted to do because I sacrificed it for him. And Sodapop, I thought about how he dropped out of school just to help me out. I thought of my little brother’s faces, and how devastated they would’ve been if I gave them up. I shook my head to come back into reality, and as I did I felt different than what I had felt one moment ago.
I felt more confident and less angry. I realized that what this random woman thought of me didn’t matter. I knew why I was working here, I knew why I roofed houses, I knew why I didn’t go to college. She didn’t know anything, and she didn’t need to either.
“Darry! You gonna come back and help us or what?” My coworker yelled.
I looked at my coworker and nodded. “Yeah, sorry man.” I yelled as I began walking back to my ladder.
I climbed back up the ladder and began to work.

three times kara told nia “you have me”. each time, a different part of kara’s identity.
Tumblr media
first time, it was kara zor-el, because she wanted to assure nia that she’s not alone. that someone understood her. kara allowed nia to see her true, full self. she trusted her friend and wanted to make her feel less alone.
Tumblr media
second time, it was her friend kara danvers who assured her she’d always be there for her when she needed someone to lean on. nia was grieving and having that support from a friend was really important.
Tumblr media
third time, it was her crime-fighting partner supergirl. for the first time in her superhero career, dreamer was faced with a problem she couldn’t tackle on her own. it was important for her to know that she didn’t have to, that she’ll always have someone to stand with her against injustice.
i’m so grateful for their friendship on the show and it’s a shame they didn’t develop them even further. they truly brought out the best in each other.

Tumblr media
conrad was the type of guy who cared about how you felt. if there were tears in your eyes that you were trying to hide? he would notice. if you were feeling uncomfortable in your body? he would notice. faking smiles to make others feel comfortable? he would make you laugh until you couldn’t stop.
and tonight was no different. ‘cause when he picked up the phone he could immediately tell something was wrong.
you went to a party with jeremiah, steven, and belly. conrad was at home sick. you drank a bit and were having a bit of fun. but before you knew it, the party was boring and you couldn’t find any of your friends. and they weren’t answering your calls. your last option was conrad. and you felt horrible to call him.
“hey conrad?”
“hey baby what’s up? are you okay?”
“um, im so sorry but i can’t find jere or steven or belly and i already started drinking. and i want to go home and i feel horrible to do this to you because you’re sick and i should find another ride but-“
“hey hey. it’s okay. i was already feeling better anyways. do not get in another car, i’ll be there in five.”
you both said your goodbyes and you waited outside the front of the house sitting by the curb. just like he promised in five minutes he was there getting out of the car and making sure you got to the passenger seat safely.
“im so sorry conrad.”
“no- hey, stop apologizing.” he cut you off, “i’m glad you called me. i would rather be throwing up on the wheel sick than you get in some random person's car and me not knowing where you are or who you’re with. okay?” he put his hand on your cheek and leaned in to kiss you.
“okay.” you sighed, “i’d be lost without you.”
he smiles, “well, I'll always be here.” before he shuts the door he kisses you again.
he puts his seatbelt on before opening his phone and calling someone, “and i’m gonna kill jere for supposedly being the dd and not having his phone on.”

steve blackman, when you were deciding that it was crucial for five to have a fucking romance plotline with his brother’s wife did you also find it crucial for five and said brother to have several sweet heart-to-heart moments throughout the season just to lead to them dying with a deep hatred for each other

The what ifs
Captain paused, as they touched the ground of the ruined park, a consequence of the ended battle.
“What did you say?” Billy asked, Captain nodded in the shared interest.
 The person whispered, quietly.
“I'm sorry, I can’t understand you.” Billy admitted, a small tinge of upset budded within himself. He paused, bringing his attention to Marvel.
There was a loose smile laid on Captain’s face which seemed to indicate Marvel understood as much as Billy did.
“Who are you?” Billy asked.
They replied, but he couldn’t hear.
The loose smile fell into a nervous one, and Billy was beginning to feel redundant, “I’m sorry…Can you please speak up?” He asked, timidly.
“𝔶o҉𝔲…҉ f҉𝔦n҉𝔞l҉𝔩y҉ t҉𝔥e҉ w҉𝔦n҉𝔡 𝔥a҉𝔰 𝔢c҉𝔥o҉𝔢d҉ t҉𝔥e҉ w҉𝔬r҉𝔡s҉ o҉𝔣 𝔱h҉𝔢 𝔲n҉𝔦v҉𝔢r҉𝔰e҉, 𝔱h҉𝔢 𝔰n҉𝔞k҉𝔢 𝔥a҉𝔰 𝔟i҉𝔱t҉𝔢n҉ i҉𝔱s҉ t҉𝔞i҉𝔩.҉ t҉𝔥e҉ e҉𝔫d҉ w҉𝔦t҉𝔥 𝔱h҉𝔢 𝔟e҉𝔤i҉𝔫n҉𝔦n҉𝔤 𝔞s҉ t҉𝔥e҉𝔶 𝔢x҉𝔦s҉𝔱 𝔱o҉𝔤e҉𝔱h҉𝔢r҉ i҉𝔫 𝔦m҉𝔭e҉𝔯m҉𝔞n҉𝔢n҉𝔠e҉…” They whispered.
Captain narrowed their eyes as they tried to decipher what the unknown voice said.
“Uh…I…I’m sorry, you’re confusing me.” Billy paused, “Impermanence? Did you say that?”
“𝔡a҉𝔯e҉ i҉ s҉𝔭e҉𝔞k҉ l҉𝔬u҉𝔡e҉𝔯?҉ y҉𝔢s҉ i҉ d҉𝔬 𝔡a҉𝔯e҉, 𝔦n҉𝔡e҉𝔢d҉. 𝔫o҉ r҉𝔢g҉𝔯e҉𝔱s҉ m҉𝔞y҉ r҉𝔦d҉𝔡l҉𝔢 𝔪y҉ f҉𝔲n҉𝔠t҉𝔦o҉𝔫l҉𝔢s҉𝔰 𝔟o҉𝔡y҉…”
Marvel blinked again, eyes widening too, almost in registration.
The words made Billy wonder if he was hard of hearing or just too light in the head. His confusion was interrupted as the odd voice spoke again.
“Iḿṕéŕḿáńéńćé, ӳőú áńd í. Áś ẃéĺĺ áś ćőńtŕádíćtíőńś, főŕ í éxíśt főŕévéŕ áńd ńő évéŕḿőŕé. I bŕéáthé thŕőúǵh ḿӳ hőńőŕ áńd áḿ śháṕéd thŕőúǵh thé ćŕúéĺ ẃőŕdś— I, á tőŕtúŕéd śőúĺ, ḿáӳ ńévéŕ ŕéśt. Billy started to feel like a fool. The words, Billy didn’t get what any of them meant. He wanted to frown, despite his incapability to do so at that moment, he had too many questions and no way of answers. Goodness, the words didn’t make any sense anymore.
“Captain?”
Captain Marvel’s head swung toward the voice, and their eyes landed on Superman.
“…Yes?” They muttered, sheepishly scratching the back of their neck. The look in Superman’s eyes and the furrow of his brows made Billy want to squirm, and Marvel began to fidget on their feet.
The voice spoke up again, no more coherent than the last, “Thé štörÿ thé qüîłł háš ćréátéd áñd šîgñéd för ÿöü, îñtrîgüéš mé. Wîłł ÿöür démîšé bé áš hörrîfîć áñd grüéšömé áš thé pášt wéré? Höwévér háš thé évéñt bééñ šćrîptéd? Öh, pérhápš théÿ’d áłłöw mé tö táké á péék. Thé hörrîbłé šîght ćöüłd błéšš mÿ éÿéš áš Î göügé thém áftérwárd…” The voice droned, a smile present in their tone.
Billy sighed internally, and Marvel did the same.
“Ñéw Ćhámpîöñ. Ćhámpîöñ. Thát wáš mÿ tîtłé öñćé, ñö ñümbér, ñö łégáćÿ tö öwñ. Î ám thé réášöñ för ÿöür éxîštéñćé, béćáüšé Î ám á fáîłüré. Fáîłüré, áłł Ćhámpîöñš áré fáîłüréš, máÿ Î fáîł. Máÿ ÿöü fáîł. Máÿ thé ñéxt fáîł šö théré áré öthérš tö fáîł. Fáîłîñg îš á ćöñšéqüéñćé öf bréáthîñg, áñd thîš îš öñłÿ trüé bÿ mÿ áćtîöñ. Łîštéñ tö mé, łîštéñ tö mé.” The voice repeated that last part over and over and over and over an—again.
Billy wanted to frown, the voice was wearing him down like an old shoe. The person was still speaking nonsense, or was it nonsense, yes it was nonsense. And Billy started to feel bad for the voice, despite the reasons why he shouldn’t have because he knew their words were rooted in reality, they seemed out of it.
Billy decided to focus on someone else, and shifted his attention to Superman. He was looking at them, oddly.
“Captain, can you hear me?”
What a silly question, of course he could. Adults often did a thing where they asked pointless questions to him, maybe Superman had entertained the habit, too.
Billy responded this time, “Yes, Superman. You’re perfectly heard, fine, for sure.” And they gave him a toothy smile.
That didn’t stop the look. “I…” He cut himself off, “Okay, Captain.”
Good, Billy thought, maybe he understood now.
Captain smiled wider.
Something landed in the grass before them and their eyes focused on it. The shiny golden liquid began to drip onto the ground as if it was watering the grass at their feet.
The golden substance seemed familiar.
The liquid continued to drip past their eyes, and rain onto the floor.
“Captain?”
“Hm?” Marvel looked up, staring Superman in the eyes.
His tone became…harsher, “Are you alright?” He said.
Marvel nodded, which caused something to trickle down their forehead and down the sides of their head.
Did they move their head into the gold rain?
Superman spoke, “Captain Marvel, can you look at me?”
Billy was certain Superman was doing the thing now, the adult thing.
So, Captain Marvel laughed. “I am.” They replied.
As they laughed, the liquid shook down their head and fell down their neck.
Captain raised their arm, and tapped their forehead.
They stopped, eyes wide.
It was covered in thick gold.

A small ramble on Canon vs Fanon, alternatively titled; Hey! You’re part of the “Fanon”! Now what?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot as of recent, I just haven’t had the time to properly jot my thoughts down. I like to put a generous distance between myself and the fanbase that comes with basically any piece of media I get into, and this also goes for the fandom that’s been built around CCCC and the rest of Chonny Jash’s albums. Don’t get me wrong, there are some lovely people here from whom I’ve interacted with (and from how far I’ve been willing to stick my head out of my own little crevice in this place), but I’ve noticed that, unfortunately, this album isn’t free from what’s been happening in more “recent” fandoms.
This isn’t me stoning anyone specifically. This is purely a generalized observation I’ve made during the (checks calendar) 8 or so months I’ve been floating around this space. same goes for every other fandom I check in on.
One of the biggest things l've come to notice the most is how the line between "canon" and "fanon" seems to be blurring more and more each day. Especially here. CCCC is first and foremost an album covering another album. Things are not explicitly narrated like a storyline you'd see in a movie or something. That doesn't mean there isn't a story to be told, but a lot of it is more up the air than most media out there right now. To my knowledge, certain events/incidents that appear to be a staple in many interpretations that I’ve seen (including my own!) only exist because of how the fanbase perceived the narration inside the songs. Which in of itself isn’t a bad thing at all— I’ve seen some really creative stuff from artists who connect to the album purely for how it describes the struggles of mental health and simply being in a bad place.
HOWEVER. There comes a point where I think it’s necessary that a line be drawn..! I’m mostly talking about the ridiculous amount of gore and torture I’ve seen in the depths here.
I have absolutely nothing against gore by itself. I’m a Resident Evil fan of all things. it does not bother me. However, there is one crucial thing to keep in mind when indulging in media of varying… maturity ratings. And that is that there is a TIME and a PLACE where such content should be the main focus in fanmade work. For example, there is a lot of fanart and writing surrounding the topic of absolutely horrific levels of torture here. Which is very disconcerting to me! Because there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING whatsoever in any of these songs that even imply the idea of, say, soul beating heart and mind with a long sock filled with quarters (pretend that example is some jigsaw level torture scenario or something because I ain’t typing allat). There’s already a lot of dark themes in the album. Why we stackin em now? Are we listening to the same album??
And I’m not talking about this just because I went “oh…that’s gore of my comfort character.” a couple dozen times now. I sincerely think that a lot of people sort of forgot that this album is a vent album. Made by a real guy. Venting about his own poor mental health. It’s great that people can connect to the characters in CCCC because they may feel the same way that they do, but I don’t think anyone would appreciate seeing the characters they constructed to express the nuance of mental health and coming to accept every part of themselves absolutely mauling each other like bloodlusted gorillas. It kinda takes away from the point of self acceptance at the end of the album if you ask me.
This does not mean every single part of the fandom is bad. not at all. There just happens to be a lot of bizarre shit here. however, just because you may not agree with these more violent interpretations does not mean you aren’t a part of the “fanon”. I think a lot of people try to vehemently deny that they fall under the fanon category (and denounce it altogether) because of the negativity surrounding the term fanon now. But truth be told, if you’ve made your own fan interpretation/au with a storyline based off of the songs, with creative liberties taken, you are part of the fanon group. This is not always a bad thing! In fact it’s better to embrace this so newer fans who are getting into CCCC and such don’t immediately think certain fanmade events/headcanons are real things that occur in the album. Because it eventually turns into a game of telephone for those who do not communicate that these aren’t canon, and then we’re back at square one.
I’m by no means the headcanon police. Do whatever the hell you want. Just be courteous and mindful about what you’re putting out there maybe.
Moral of the story, maybe listen to the album all the way through a couple more times. And please, do NOT trust genius lyric annotations, I am BEGGING you.

rewatching supernatural i get so intensely angry whenever dean makes a reference to how he’s “supposed” to die, how he’s “meant” to go. especially as the show goes on because in the earlier seasons he talks about going out blaze-of-glory style as if it’s a badge of honour because he actually believes in it. his conditioning and his upbringing shaped his self worth in such a way that the ideal out for him would be on the job—saving people, hunting things. but as the show goes on, every time it comes up there’s an increasing sense of resignation, so especially by the end you know that he doesn’t actually want to go out that way. he wants to make it to the other side, he’s just too afraid to verbalize that because of how easily any hope for escape could be taken away from him, and so what do the writers do? when that hope is more present than ever—he can see the light at the end of the tunnel—they suddenly and brutally take it away from him, his worst fears confirmed in the final moments of his life, dooming him to the narrative he finally accepted he didn’t want to be stuck in. and i know we’ve talked about his ending a lot so i won’t get into it too much, but i just can’t stop thinking about every time he says to sam or cas or another hunter that he’s “supposed” to die a certain way, because what more proof do we need that his story never should have ended like that? fuck’s sake, he deserved better.

Things you might not realize are affecting your ao3 readership:
Putting unrelated fics into one compilation instead of series or collections
Not tagging your fics/“haha I’m so bad at tagging!”
Tagging all of the ships in a fandom instead of the relevant ones to the story
“This is my first fic ever”/ “I’m really not a good writer” / “sorry if this is crap”
Summaries that say “sorry don’t think I will update much” or “might be abandoned idk”
Tagging “r@pe” or “unaliving” etc instead of the actual tag so people can filter/exclude
NOT tagging major, relevant tags or kinks without using the “creator chose not to use archive warnings” option
Telling people how bad your writing is and how you hate it so much and how they shouldn’t even be reading your fic (self deprecation)
Weird punctuation: not starting new quotes or descriptions on a new line, and/or putting extremely long blocks of text on the page without a break
