VIVI HAIR RULES ୨୧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you want long, shiny, soft and healthy hair here are my rules that I stand by
૮꒰ྀི ୨ ៸៸៸ ୧ ྀི꒱ა ༊࿐ ͎. 。˚ ° ⊹ ˚.
1. Don’t try and “train your hair” - if it’s oily, wash it. Healthy scalp comes before anything, even if that’s washing everyday. (Which isn’t damaging despite what people say btw) If you can go longer then that then do it.
2. Do a pre-shampoo treatment, I use coconut oil. If you feel it messes up your hair, most likely you aren’t washing it all off, so instead try a coconut based oil instead of whole coconut oil. Keep this on your ends for at least 30 minutes before showering.
3. Do not go to bed with wet hair.
4. Do a head massage everyday for at least 5 minutes, don’t use your nails but instead use the pads of your fingers.
5. SPLIT YOUR ENDS AT HOME. This is so important, check for split ends regularly. If you see any, cut them right away.
6.Don’t be tricked by marketing! I actually prefer drugstore haircare to high end.
7. Use bonding treatments, l’oréal has a new bond repair line that is good!
8. Microfiber towels, soft hair ties, and silk pillowcases.
9. Protective Hairstyles before bed.
10. Always oil your ends. I like jojoba oil and you only need a tiny bit. It will add a nice shine and protect your hair.
11. Embrace your natural hair color and texture, avoid bleaching, dying, and relaxing if you can
I could ramble on for hours about hair, but these are definitely some of my basic rules ! I hope this helps you on your long hair journey 💕🧁

Bitches! You have a wide audience so I come seeking advice. My family are all of the thin, straight hair variety. I am not. I have long (waist length), thick, curly hair.
Can I get some advice on how to style it and take care of it? I’ve been told my whole life to “just brush it” but I’ve seen on insta and elsewhere that that’s like, the worst thing you can do to curly hair. Please help a confused little bitchling!
Love your content! 💚💙
First off: you sound absolutely gorgeous. Good on you for wanting to take care of your natural hair and let it show its true glory.
HOW BOUT IT, BITCH NATION? ANYONE WITH THICK, CURLY, LONG HAIR WANT TO CHIME IN WITH SPECIFIC ADVICE FOR ANONYPOO?
I (Piggy) love hair, and mine is long, wavy, and thick. If you watch our YouTube you'll see I almost always straighten or curl it. Sounds like we have different textures, but a few things that have absolutely changed my (hair) life are as follows:
I oil my hair once or twice a month using a keratin oil. I used to think that with greasy hair like mine, it would make the situation worse, but an oil treatment actually makes it LESS greasy. It's magic.
I coil my hair into a bun on top of my head when I sleep. This keeps it from getting tangled and sweaty over the night. Plus, if I've curled or straightened it the day before, the style will last longer this way. Lots of people with long hair wear silk caps to bed or braid their hair before sleep for similar reasons.
I wash my hair twice per week instead of every day. Overwashing can be really bad for your hair, but everyone's washing schedule is different. I'd consult a hair stylist about how often you should wash (if you can afford to see one, they'll give you LOTS of expert tips).
I often use a wide-toothed comb to comb it out instead of brushing.
Hair can be a VERY sensitive subject, tied to culture, ethnicity, and oppressive beauty standards. Seek out communities, either online or irl, of people of your ethnicity with the same hair type and texture. They'll have great tips and stories for you!

Hair routine rules that I wish I knew earlier :
Tumblr media
Make sure you comb your hair with a detangling hair comb before oiling or shampooing your hair.
When applying oil make sure to apply it to the length of your hair. Scalp to tip in equal portions.
Avoid oiling your scalp if you have a sebaceous scalp. But oil your hair length and tips.
Wrap a hot towel around your hair after oiling it.. this will help the oil penetrate the scalp.
Don't leave oil on your scalp overnight.. this makes you over wash your hair and in turn make your hair frizzy and dry. And if you have a sebaceous scalp it will make your condition much worse.
The ideal duration to leave oil on your hair or scalp is a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 3 hours.
Don't tangle your hair while shampooing.
Don't spend too much time shampooing the length and tip of your hair. Spend 3 minutes max.
Don't use hot water while shampooing.
While conditioning your hair don't apply the conditioner to your scalp at all... Just apply the conditioner on the length of the hair and tips.
Let the conditioner sit on your hair for 10 minutes (ideal).
When applying hair serum. Avoid applying it on the scalp.
Did I miss anything ? Let me know...

Thinking about how kiri does his hair. Had the best idea (that has probably already been thought of)
What if, in the mornings he just flips his head upside down and the hardens his hair…like… can he do that? Does that work? That explains why he doesn’t use gel…
idk, just random thoughts that keep me up at night.
(@kimyoudraft if you say anything about my sleep sched, im sending AFO after you 😙)

How to get long healthy shiny hair in 2024 🎀
Tumblr media
HAIR OILING: It is recommended that you oil your hair at least once or twice in a week. The benefits from oiling your hair are endless, from strengthening and lengthening your hair to preventing dandruff, lice, hair breakage and so much more. But remember that you should not go overboard as too much of everything is not good! Finding the suitable one depending on your hair type is essential for getting the best results!
SHOWER ROUTINE: It is very important to find the right shampoo for your hair type that gently cleanses and removes all that heavy buildup of products you apply in your hair, that doesn’t damage and dry it out, which is what a Clarifying shampoo does. But remember to check what hair type it is for as some shampoos aren’t suitable for all hair types. After shampoo is when you should use a hair mask, as it is advised to be used before conditioning since using a hair mask injects moisture into the hair and conditioner locks it in! A lot of people think that you just use conditioner from that same brand of shampoo and hair mask, but the real truth is that it is best to use the best conditioner you find works well enough for your hair.
AFTER SHOWER ROUTINE: Use a microfiber towel after showering! Not only does it dry your hair faster, but it’s much softer and gentle while doing no damage to your hair. If you plan on blow drying your hair, remember to let your hair air dry about 80-90% before blow drying. And you must use heat protectant for your hair! And wether you’re blow drying your hair or not, find the best hair serum and apply (can be used before and after styling) it firstly to your ends and then apply the leftover serum on your palm on your roots to prevent your roots from looking greasy. Always remember a little goes a long way with hair serums.
Thank you for reading and I hope you find this beneficial! Let me know if you have any questions <3

I'm sorry to ask: how did you get your hair that long like how often do you wash it, what shampoo do you use etc? Sending you lots of love xx
hiiii no need to be sorry at all! 🫶🏻 I think the main part was just not seeing a hair dresser for 2 years (i should def be going more often for freshening of my ends but it feels like a luxury expense)
i do have a very dedicated hair routine, something i’ve been following for about 4 years now, and i have noticed amazing differences in my hair growth.
i only wash my hair once a week maximum (& the nights before/day of events i want nice hair for heh)
i try use “natural” shampoo & conditioner products, (sometimes budget means i need to opt for worse cheaper products) but i try to use brands that don’t have sulphates (your hair won’t get as bubbly during a wash with sulphate free products, but it’s still cleaning it!)
the brands i favour that i can get here in australia are Thank You, Sukin, & My Soda.
i will sometimes use Dermal Therapy scalp care shampoos or a Teatree Shampoo, usually during warmer months when i deal with more buildup on my scalp & sensitivity.
don’t forgot that conditioner is your best friend! squeeze excess water from your hair and coat the lengths in conditioner, avoid the roots and scalp to prevent buildup. Leave in for a few minutes and rinse. hair that’s been wet neeeeeds conditioner, it helps lock in moisture etc!
when i shower daily, if it’s not a day to wash my hair i won’t get it wet. if i do ever get my hair wet i will wash it, or at the very least put conditioner in it.
after washing i use a low heat setting on my hair dryer to make sure my roots & scalp are dry (removing the dampness and warmth of washed hair and making sure it’s completely dry at the roots and scalp helps prevent bacteria etc and will keep your hair feeling and looking cleaner for longer!)
i will usually just towel/air dry the lengths of my hair, (don’t rub the towel on it, try squeezing the water out of the hair tightly but gently into the towel, this will prevent breakage) if it’s close to bed time then i will ensure it’s all completely dry because sleeping with wet hair isn’t very good for it.
i brush my hair multiple times a day (im lucky to have straight hair that can handle this) removing tangles before they’re too intense and will cause more breaking during brushing and styling is essential. i use a rosehip & wheat protein detangle spray when needed
i use a hair brush that is anti-tangle, and also a “wet hair” brush. these are life changing and if you’re going to be brushing your hair while it’s wet, one of these is essential to preventing breakage and promoting scalp circulation!
i sleep with my hair plaited or braided, and secure the plait up into a bun with soft scrunchies. i use soft hair ties as well. plaits at night help keep long hair out of your face and stop it getting knotted!
sorry this is long! it’s basically everything i can think of at the moment! sending love 🫶🏻🩷

DRUGSTORE HAIRCARE IS JUST AS GOOD AS PROFESSIONAL YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO BUY
- Do not listen to hairdressers, they know how to make your hair look good. Instead listen to dermatologists + trichologists who actually study the scalp and hair!

HEALTHY HAIR TIPS AND TRICKS ✧˚ · .
this post is going to be aiming toward type 3-4 hair (curly-coily)! but if you have a different hair type some of these things could be beneficial towards your hair as well
Tumblr media
WASHING YOU HAIR
healthy hair starts with how you manage it. so making sure you have a good wash day routine is super important for your hair health. only wash your hair once a week if you do a sport or are active a lot. if not, only wash your hair once every two weeks. when you rinse your hair use cold water to ensure moisture stays locked in. the more you wash your hair the more natural oils your hair gets stripped from and you don't want that.
PICKING PRODUCTS
picking hair care products that are right for you hair plays a big role in your hair health. try to find hair products that don't contain sulfates, parabens, silicones, or mineral oil. instead look for honey, shea butter, tea tree oil, and argan oil.
A ROUTINE FOR YOU
making sure you develop your own hair routine that's right for your hair and benefits you is the best way to go. don't follow hair care trends that you see other people doing. stick to yours, trying out different products is totally okay, if you're careful.
STYLING
the way you are styling your hair could also be of benefit to your hair growth/health. try doing protective styles to ensure you aren't pulling at your hair all the time, pulling at your hair so much could cause thinning. but at the same time still making sure you aren't leaving those protective styles in for too long because that could also cause breakage.
HEAT
using heat on your hair all the time is definitely not of value to you. this could cause extreme breakage and really bad heat damage which could mess up your natural curl pattern. I recommend only straightening your hair once every 5-6 months to give your hair a trim. watch this video to successfully straighten your hair the healthy way.
HAIRCUTS
try to give your hair a trim every 3-6 months (depending on your ends) to clip your dead hair. this ensures your hair will grow long and healthy.
SLEEP
sleeping is also a huge benefit for hair health and growth. don't sleep with your hair soaking wet while that can cause breakage, if you are deep conditioning you hair make sure to sleep with a bonnet over your hair to prevent you from laying on it. make sure to use silk pillowcases + bonnets!
HEALTH OVER LENGTH
lots of people I see never let go of their long hair because of the length even though it's damaged. my opinion is to just let it go. you don't have to cut all of it off at one time but cutting a few inches off every few months will help you hair grown even longer and healthier
VITAMINS
taking vitamins will also help your hair tremendously! vitamin B, C, iron, zinc, and keratin are a few good ones you could take

imo a lot of the advice online is discouraging and exaggerated esp for natural hair or supr vague so from my xp
yes you can bleach your hair with baking soda and 3% hydrogen peroxide
hydrogen peroxide w/o the baking soda doesnt seem to be effective
coat your hair with oil b4 to minimize it breaking or drying out etc
my hair was jet black naturally and it got a natural looking reddish brown tht kind of resembles my skin tone i think
i put the mixture in myself n tried to distribute evenly but my roots got a lot lighter than the edges of my hair it doesnt look bad imo it kind of gives a like highlights vibe but if you're hoping for a really even result i'd advise having someone else apply it for you
i didnt wash it out with any specific shampoo just what i usually use
a bit more personal idea
so i hv texturized hair the last time i texturized it was a little short of a week b4 bleching it.
my hair isnt in a terrible state but it does hv some damage n suffers from not staying moisturized which im working on but the bleaching did not make it feel any more dry or damaged than it already was and again i think coating it with oil helped tht.
i dont hv a specific hair care routine but ive been trying to coat it with castor oil at night so i did tht the night b4 bleaching it n then bleached it in the morning.
my hair is short but i kinda had an undercut mohawk thing growing out so the back n sides are shorter myb 1/2 inch n the longest parts are abt 2 inches. the shorter parts bleached like fully the longer parts the roots bleached but the ends didnt as much they're pretty much almost my natural hair colour
i initially sprayed the peroxide all ovr n waited almost 30 ish mins checked n nothing happed so i mixed the peroxide n baking soda n within like 5 mins it started getting really hot n sizzling (very fun feeling!!!!) n then i washed it out in abt 15 mins ish
i didnt do a spot test or anything b4 so if like me u just wanna 'make a risky decision' ur not likely to run into any srs problems but i've used peroxide on my skin for cuts n stuff in the past n i wash my hair with baking soda from time to time so i didnt expect any bad reactions.
edit: also it will get lighter as time goes by it's been a week and my hair is much lighter than it was at first i'm intrigued to see how much lighter it will get over more time

tips for healthy and long hair
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hello darling ! today i will share some of my tips that help me grow my hair long and keep them healthy 💕
♡﹒✿﹒﹕✧﹒💗
tips 1: always rinse your hair with cold water, it will help with hair loss and make your hair shiny
tips 2: use hair oil before washing your hair, it with help a lot with hair growth, i recommend the ROSEMARY MINT SCALP & HAIR STRENGTHENING OIL that you can find on beauty bay
tips 3 : never put shampoo other than on your scalp, it will make the rest of the hair very dry .
tips 4: avoid heat, if you still wanna use heat remember to always put a heat protector, personally i use the Ghd Thermo protector spray and it works perfectly !:)
tips 5: take dietary complement, it's not necessary but it is a great way to make your hair healthier.
tips 6 : massage your scalp, i recently started to do this not believing it could work but it does! you can find a scalp massager kinda everywhere.

Any tips for going blonde?
don’t go to a regular hairdresser for blonde - if you can, save up for a blonde specialist. look up their work on IG to find a good one
if not, then i’d recommend the l’oreal efassor series for mixing your own bleach. depending on your hair type you can use different percentages of bleach to get the perfect tone. also get a toner for after bleaching or you’ll end up with a yellow toned blonde
for the aftercare - regular hair oiling with argan oil & natural based shampoo & conditioner. the silicone stuff feels good at first but it damages your hair in the long run
hope this was helpful ♡
