#Gay Black writer

James Baldwin is one of my favourite writers of all time. His writing is so intimate. Every time I read them, I feel like I'm alone in a room with him as he's telling me this story. Or I'm watching through a window of a real situation and no one knows I'm there.

He was also brave enough to not only write about Black characters when no one really wanted him to, but also to write about Black queer characters as well-- in the 1950s.

If you haven't read Giovanni's Room, Go Tell it on the Mountain, Notes of a Native Son, and I am Not Your Negro. He has so many other incredible works, but these four in particular are probably the more famous ones.

His writing is incredibly intimate, authentic and raw-- and it can be heavy, at times, absolutely. But he makes every word worth it.

Please check him out. He's not nearly as famous as he should have been-- everyone should have read at least one of his works in school, but it was never a priority, because he was a gay Black writer.

Regulus, suddenly there now: No, I answered to yours, I was just too far away. Also, Remus? I will hit you if you say shit like that again about either of them, joke or not. I'm the only one who can talk shit about my brother, I don't care if you guys are dating. *crosses arms over chest*

Sirius, tearing up: Reg... OW-

Regulus, trying to hide his blush: Shut the fuck up.

James, leaning on Peter: Did you hear that, Pete?? He defended me!! That has to mean something, right?? Do you think he likes me? Oh, I hope so!!

Peter, rubbing in-between his eyes: James, he was literally sitting in your lap last night and letting you play with his hair. Not even Barty's allowed to do that anymore.

James, clueless: Yeah?

Peter: I do not get paid enough for this.

Fic: Home

When Regulus first mentioned he was moving out of Sirius and Remus’ place, his brother insisted it wasn't necessary. But today, on his last day, Sirius couldn't hide his excitement about living alone with his boyfriend. Regulus was genuinely happy for them, though what bothered him most was leaving their cozy flat behind and getting used to a new living arrangement.

Moving out meant finding a new place and a new roommate. Regulus had enough money to live solo, but the thought of loneliness irked him more than anything. Sirius knew this, which is why an hour after Regulus announced his departure, he received a text from James Potter.

[Jamie] Come live with me

Regulus smirked at his phone. James had saved his contact with that nickname, hoping Regulus would feel guilty about being mean to him. He didn’t, but that didn't mean he wasn't growing fond of James.

[Regulus] Where are your manners, Potter? Shouldn’t you at least ask me out first?

[Jamie] You’re such a princess. I have a spare room and you need a place to live.

[Regulus] So you’re my knight in shining armor coming to my rescue then?

[Jamie] I mean, I do have the looks for it.

[Jamie] Just take the offer.

[Jamie] Don’t even try to say you don’t like my flat when I know for a FACT that you do.

[Regulus] Fine. You sure?

[Jamie] Positive, princess.

Remus raised an amused eyebrow at his boyfriend, looking up from his work. “What do you need, Pads?”

“I’m bored,” Sirius groaned dramatically, flopping onto the carpet. He let out a little oomph of air as he hit the floor, which was followed by a soft “ow.”

“Are you okay, Pads?” Remus asked, peering at Sirius concernedly over his book.

“Perfectly fine, sweetie pie,” Sirius said, raising his head to grin at Remus. “I guess you can say I really fell for you, eh?”

“Idiot.”

my Stephanie Brown hot take is that she should get mad bitches now that she's single in comics. Yes yes shipping BUT the one time she had sex she was punished by the narrative via teen pregnancy. I think she should be allowed to have as much sex as she wants with zero consequences. Could be a lot of sex, could be a little. “brace” - Jegulus microfic - @into-the-jeggyverse - 266 words

The match had been going on for hours. It was heated and aggressive and even from the stands James could feel the intensity. The score had been close the entire game and it all came down to who could catch the snitch first, but neither seeker had seen it the entire game.

That was until Regulus spotted it hovering in the corner of the pitch only centimeters above the ground. James saw the moment Regulus found it and he didn’t hesitate to go after it. He shot across the pitch faster than James had ever seen him fly and James had to brace himself on the front of the stands as he watched Regulus dive directly towards the ground. It was a risky move because Regulus would have to pull up at the very last second so he didn’t crash into the ground or the side of the pitch. 

It felt like time slowed down and James held his breath the entire time. Regulus reached his hand out and wrapped his fingers around the snitch at the same time as he pulled his broom up and spun to the side to fly straight up along the side of the pitch. It was beautiful. And ridiculously stupid.

Regulus had the biggest smile on his face as he flew over to James.

“You are insane.” James told him. “But that incredible. You’re incredible.”

“For you.” Regulus held out the snitch.

Instead of taking the snitch, James wrapped his hand around Regulus’ wrist and pulled him down for a kiss.

“For you.” James said when they broke the kiss.
