In continuation of the very consistant mushroom theme of this blog: we picked a nice big haul of umbrella mushrooms today. I've heard the most popular way to prepare the caps is to make "patties" or "chops" ("грибні відбивні") by coating them in flour and eggs, then frying. So we tried that instead of just frying them as usual.

It was quite good. Tastes much better than it looks. I wouldn't say it's tastier than just straightforward frying, but it's different. They keep all the moisture inside, so the "chops" turn out really nice and juicy.

And then I ended up with a whole container of my favorite "stalk snacks," which was the part I looked forward to the most.
