Breaking Down Instagram's Payment for 1000 Views: Calculations and Effective Strategies
Instagram is not just a platform for sharing beautiful photos and engaging videos; it’s also a powerful tool for making money. If you’re wondering how Instagram pays for 1000 views and want to understand the calculations and strategies behind it, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will help you break down the payment system and provide effective strategies to maximize your earnings.
Understanding Instagram's Payment System
To get a clear picture of how Instagram pays for 1000 views, it’s essential to understand the different elements involved. Here’s what you need to know:
1. Types of Content
Different types of Instagram content have distinct payment structures:
Sponsored Posts: Brands pay you a flat fee to promote their products or services. Payment is generally based on your follower count and engagement rather than views.
IGTV Videos: Instagram shares ad revenue for IGTV videos. Earnings depend on the number of ad impressions and the CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions) rate.
Reels and Stories: These short-form content types can be monetized through sponsored deals or affiliate marketing, though they don’t directly generate ad revenue from Instagram.
2. Audience Engagement
Engagement metrics are crucial in determining payment and earning potential:
Likes and Comments: High engagement rates can make your content more attractive to brands and increase your earning potential.
Shares and Saves: Content that gets shared and saved often has better visibility, leading to more lucrative opportunities.
3. Ad Revenue Share
For IGTV videos, Instagram’s payment system involves sharing ad revenue:
CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions): Instagram calculates ad revenue based on CPM. Advertisers pay a specific amount for 1000 ad impressions, and Instagram shares a portion of this revenue with content creators.
Calculating Earnings: To estimate earnings, you need to know the average CPM rate and the number of views.
4. Geographic Location
The geographic location of your audience can impact your earnings:
Regional Ad Rates: Ad rates can vary by region. Views from higher-value markets often result in higher earnings.
Localized Deals: Brands may offer different rates based on geographic targeting.
Calculating Instagram Payments for 1000 Views
Understanding how Instagram calculates payments for 1000 views involves knowing the payment structures for different content types. Here’s a breakdown:
1. Sponsored Posts
Flat Fee: Sponsored posts typically involve a fixed fee. This fee is negotiated based on your follower count, engagement rate, and content quality.
Negotiation Tips: Use your engagement metrics and audience insights to negotiate fair compensation for sponsored posts.
2. IGTV Videos
CPM Model: Instagram uses the CPM model for IGTV ads. CPM refers to the cost an advertiser pays for 1000 ad impressions.
Example Calculation:
Average CPM = $5
Views = 1000
Estimated Earnings = $5 (This is a simplified example; actual earnings may vary depending on factors like ad performance and viewer demographics).
3. Reels and Stories
Sponsored Deals: Payments for Reels and Stories are usually negotiated directly with brands and do not directly correlate with the number of views.
Affiliate Marketing: Another revenue stream for Reels and Stories is affiliate marketing, where you earn commissions on products sold through your content.
Effective Strategies to Maximize Your Earnings
To make the most of your Instagram presence and maximize your earnings, consider implementing the following strategies:
1. Grow Your Audience
A larger, engaged audience can lead to higher payments and more opportunities:
Create High-Quality Content: Post engaging and high-quality content that resonates with your target audience.
Be Consistent: Maintain a regular posting schedule to keep your audience engaged and attract new followers.
2. Enhance Engagement
Boosting engagement can improve your earning potential:
Use Interactive Features: Utilize features like polls, quizzes, and question stickers in Stories to drive engagement.
Engage with Followers: Respond to comments, messages, and mentions to build a stronger connection with your audience.
3. Negotiate Effectively
When working with brands or negotiating sponsored content:
Show Metrics: Provide detailed engagement metrics and audience demographics to justify your rates.
Clarify Deliverables: Clearly define the scope of work, including post frequency, content requirements, and deadlines.
4. Diversify Your Monetization
Explore various monetization options to diversify your income streams:
Sponsored Posts: Partner with brands for sponsored content deals.
Affiliate Marketing: Promote products and earn commissions through affiliate links.
Sell Merchandise: Offer branded merchandise to your followers to generate additional revenue.
Key Takeaways
Breaking down Instagram’s payment system for 1000 views involves understanding the different types of content, engagement metrics, ad revenue share, and geographic factors. Here are the key takeaways:
1. Know the Payment Structures
Different types of content (sponsored posts, IGTV videos, Reels, and Stories) have different payment structures.
2. Focus on Engagement
High engagement rates can lead to better monetization opportunities and higher payments.
3. Calculate Earnings
Estimate your earnings using CPM rates for IGTV videos and understand how negotiated rates apply to other content formats.
4. Implement Effective Strategies
Grow your audience, boost engagement, negotiate wisely, and diversify your monetization efforts to maximize your Instagram earnings.
Conclusion
Understanding how Instagram pays for 1000 views is essential for content creators and businesses looking to optimize their monetization strategies. By breaking down the payment system and implementing effective strategies, you can make the most of your Instagram presence and achieve your financial goals.
Whether you’re just starting or looking to refine your approach, applying these insights will help you navigate Instagram’s payment landscape and enhance your earning potential.

your guide to effortless glamour⋆.ೃ࿔*:・✨
Tumblr media
personal branding - what does glamor mean to YOU. what makes your sense of glamor different from everyone else’s. personal branding is all about individuality. when everyones idea of glamor is identical to each other’s, everyones personal charm dissipates, and "glamor" loses its meaning. thats why its important to not conform to EVERY little trend, or try and copy someone else’s personal brand.
Tumblr media
the difference with getting inspiration from someone and copying someone is simple. when ur inspired by someone, u can do something similar for personal branding, but the distinction between ur brand and INSPIRERS brand is very distinct.
confidence - the most glamorous people are ALWAYS the most confident. the thing about confidence is that nobody can ACTUALLY determine whether or not its real. because of that it is so easy to fake confidence. fake it till u make it. its SUPER easy to create confidence because of this fact.
my favorite way to work on my confidence is through self CONCEPT work. if ur a loa girlie then yk that self concept is the FOUNDATION for literally everything and i stress its importance relentlessly bcuz its JUST that important. im currently working on a big self concept post which is dropping soon, but for now i have lots of self concept posts already that u can reference if u dont know where to start.
treatment - when ur working towards effortless glamor, ofc you’re gonna TREAT yourself as the glamorous individual you are. and what i mean by that is -> treating urself with nothing short of respect and LOVE. some ways to implement effortless glamor into ur life are...
giving urself compliments
AFFIRM TO URSELF (vaunt, and rampage and affirm about how much u love urself, even if u dont at the moment it WILL come into fruition)
self care - pamper urself just like u deserve. take care of ur skin, hair and nails. when u look good u FEEL good. treat urself like a princess, with the upmost care.
pampering yourself - be EXTRAAA and be meticulous. take impeccably good care of ur body and ur health. when ur taking care of urself like u should, you'll glow from the inside out. when u make it a habit to put time into yourself, your confidence AND glamorous energy will skyrocket.
Tumblr media
other resources ; i'll add youtubers, and other blogs that i take inspo from for ✨glamor✨ and ofc an affirmations list.
@prissygrlsorority - one of the most GLAMOROUS blogs that i've seen yet. overall a rly good resource.
misstada - one of my favorite youtubers, glamorous makeup tutorials and vlogs.
AFFIRMATIONS - my whole entire existence is so effortlessly glamorous. im the embodiment of the word fabulous. i have fabulous hair, fabulous style, and of COURSE that fabulous smile. im a star.
all in all, KNOW who you are, and remind urself of that ✨ - honey

Unhinged™
(inspired by this post by @leniisreallycool. the pure madness of obey me is the reason why I typically write chaotically-comedic slice-of-life scenarios; because i can honestly write these guys doing the stupidest things and argue that it might as well be canon, these dorks. anime canon, tho. the anime is just another beast of its own to the game ahahaha.)
(so while this may not be anime canon-level obey me content, i hope it comes close. if they’ve actually done any of these and i just haven’t experienced it in-game yet, let me know! it only proves my point.)
There was a time when Solomon brought an extremely-long baguette everywhere with him, insisting it was his magic wand. Even as the days turned to weeks, and the bread crust turned to mould, Solomon would still carry it around everywhere; unbothered by the rancid smell and waving it like a idol group light-stick whenever he spoke an incantation. Then, one day, he showed up at RAD with sandwiches to share. Sandwiches… with suspiciously green and white bread. Turns out, this whole thing was Solomon’s interpretation of dry-aging.
Belphegor and Asmodeus have an ongoing vlog series on Deviltube called ‘Beauty Sleep’. They go somewhere trendy, find some inappropriate place for Belphie to sleep, and Asmo takes some #aesthetic shots whilst timing how long Belphie can nap before being kicked out. It’s incredibly popular and sometimes features cameos from the exchange students and the other Avatars of Sin. Once, a subscriber milestone came with a special surprise: a live-streamed episode of Beauty Sleep in the Demon Lord’s Castle! They never got caught, because Diavolo was busy watching the livestream in his room - too invested to realise it was his own house.
The dining table in the main room of the House of Lamentation has its own fandom on the DevilNet. There are multiple fansites speculating the exact materials used to make it; the exact number of fasteners it uses; and, most especially, its exact length. There are posts, blogs and entire DevilTube deep-dive videos centred around the mystery of how long the table is. This is because, in every piece of media involving the table, it appears a different length despite the decorations and location remaining the same. What the Devildom doesn't know is that the table was made retractable shortly after MC arrived in the Devildom. It was a custom job, done solely so that the table could be used as a runway for a makeshift fashion show (Asmo and Mammon's idea) the brothers held with human world clothes one time MC was feeling homesick.
Once, for a whole month, Mammon dedicated himself to creating a new currency. For the first week, he was an absolute menace, stealing metal objects (like small screws or unused kitchen utensils) around the house to melt down and form into coins of his own design. Beel cried for five days over the lack of cutlery and Asmo kept shrieking whenever he realised he’d had another piece of jewellery had been stolen from him. The rest of the month was spent attempting to rope people into investing; then failing; then celebrating because he had so much of his money to himself; and finally crying because none of it would be accepted at stores.
When he had first gotten into reading books, Satan started a website called ‘Ampbook’ where demons could upload personal writing projects, as well as comment on and share them, too. It’s now incredibly popular, especially amongst younger demons, and is well-known for romance. Well. Much to Satan’s chagrin, it was actually better-known for romance… and fanfiction. He’s constantly torn between allowing his beloved site users their freedom of expression, or immediately taking down any fanfics shipping MC with any of his other brothers. He’s also faked MC x Satan as the most trending tag, permanently.
The height of Beel’s appreciation for Leviathan was shortly after MC’s arrival into the Devildom. They had introduced Levi to an anime centred around four students in a high school swimming team; including a protagonist who Beel thought had a dubiously-intimate love of water. Regardless, Levi tried out for the RAD swimming team - got in and won a bunch of gold medals - and then proceeded to quit the team after a new, different anime he had been waiting for came out. All in the span of a week. To Levi's disdain, Beel brings this up at least once a month: by parading a handmade display of Levi's medals and a framed photo of his older brother in a swimsuit around RAD, showing it off to everyone who asked. And everybody asked. Maybe not so much for the medals.

Okay, so the original post you wrote has been a while and I saw it by ghost-reading (this is when I read someone's blog without signing into Tumblr. I'm only signed in on a specific browser on my laptop to prevent mindless scrolling).
If I recall correctly, you mentioned being ready to protect a Thai actor because he's some BL actor but is married to a wife (or has a girlfriend). That reminded me of an incident my best friend told me while we were chatting.
She said there was this time when two pairs of BL actors (she coded them as Pair A + B, and Pai C +D since I don't know them and their names weren't the point) got massively flacked by fans because B kissed C on camera when the four friends were hanging out. Fans apparently saw it as a betrayal of the "BL pairing," even though all four of them were just vlogging their activities not as characters they play.
I wanna know more about this phenomenon out of curiosity!
Is it as common as my best friend put it? Or is she just unlucky enough to be caught in such a storm?
Why do fans think this way, when these are just actors and not the real characters? Is it similar to the issue of fans of Kpop, Jpop, or even Cpop artists who cannot accept their idols marrying or dating anyone?
What do the companies hiring or signing these actors do to mitigate such an issue/protect their actors?
Or... Do the companies cash in on this sort of fanatic fervor, such that they encourage fans to believe this illusion, or mandate their actors to uphold such an illusion even when they are being themselves outside of acting?
How does an incident like this usually get resolved?
What are the major stances of Thai BL fans on this issue? Not all of them support this sort of fervor, right?
Lastly: what do you think, personally, is central to this sort of incident?
Sorry if it sounds like some college assignment, but I really wanna know what you think! I'm so curious as an outsider to all of this...
Thanks!!!
Hiiiii Lyn \( ̄︶ ̄*\))
You have no idea how happy I am to receive this ask because I've been wanting to talk about that couple incident that you're referring to since forever but I've never gotten the chance to properly collect my thoughts about it. Thank you for allowing this opportunity to ramble about this and for your very introspective questions.
Tumblr media
So firstly to give some context to it, I think it's a bit more important to cover some background information of the two pairings that you're talking about.
OffGun and TayNew are some of the oldest pairings in GMMTV. They are known to all be good friends with each other (if not to say they're each other best friends). They've all done non-BL works with different actors but in terms of promotions, OffGun and TayNew have always been regarded to be the 'pillars' of GMMTV (their company) branded pairings.
Tumblr media
Even though the four people are close with each other, Tay is particularly close with Gun (and this is public fact known by everyone who follows them), often teasingly calls each other pet/master and have some hangouts/vacations with just them two.
Tumblr media
In the case of TayGun, I think their playful kiss being caught unexpectedly on livestream caused so much reactions was because it's a private moment between them. BL fans are too used with using private moments (re:clips of casual skinship between actors during work events and non-work livestream) to prove the existence of their closeness or togetherness -> so when New accidentally turned his camera to show Gun playfully kissing Tay during livestream, I think many (outraged) fans falsely equated that TayGun kissing in private like that means they're romantically involved to a certain degree.
Even though Tay has come out to explain that it isn't the case and that Gun was just playfully teasing him, there were still so much flacks thrown his way. Even with clarifications from both sides, you can basically see from the comments section of these Tiktoks (1, 2, 3, 4) that there is a considerable portion of OffGun and TayNew upset and disappointed (even though there is no reason to). I'll just translate some of the Vietnamese ones because those are the comments that show up first for me.
For those who follow [OffGun], you'll already know that Gun has been avoiding skinship from Off since 2022, fans used to think that he was shy but now we get it 🥲
10 years is just a number =)))))) (t/n: OP is insinuating that OffGun has been fooling their fans for 10 years)
What kind of 'friends' kiss each other on the lips?!
Now I can't watch OffGun series anymore 😇 Can they please give us a TayGun series 😌
Have I been blind all this time because how can everything has been so clear yet I still don't know it 🥲🥲🥲
Is it as common as my best friend put it? Or is she just unlucky enough to be caught in such a storm?
I think it's both common and not. So 'common' is in the sense that whenever one half of a branded pairing or 'koojin' is close and intimate with another person or displaying any possibilities of them being involved with said person in real life, it always trigger these reactions from shipper fans to immediately deny that possibilities or to attack the actors in the branded pairing as if they have 'deceived' their fans.
This has infinitely lessened in recent years with actors actively taking a stance against their fans harrassing their colleagues over ships but in general we still see it now and then with popular/rising/active ships or inactive ships but with astronomically huge fandoms (see: reactions of brightwin fans to bright's dating news).
I'm also saying it's uncommon for 'two halfs of two different popular BL pairings to get rumored to be together' but in 2024, it has already happened twice so who knows what's real really 😅 Aside from the case of TayNew/OffGun, there's also the case of actors Mew and Tul (who were both parts of ships with HUGE fandoms MaxTul and MewGulf) confirming their in real life relationship but their news was more well received internationally as neither of their old ships have been active in having series together for a while (i still see flacks for both of them here and there but that's because i'm vietnamese and vietnamese negative reactions are always the ones i see first to any dating news of one half of a BL pairing).
Why do fans think this way, when these are just actors and not the real characters? Is it similar to the issue of fans of Kpop, Jpop, or even Cpop artists who cannot accept their idols marrying or dating anyone?
I think there are several reasons like actors and companies contributing to the delusions of shipper fans and fans not being able to separate real life actors from the characters they play on screen, which have been extensively discussed in these Reddit threads (1, 2) so I won't delve into them. I'll just focus on a common reason i've seen from vietnamese fans being the combination of emotional and financial investment in these ships.
Similar to Kpop, Jpop or even Cpop idols as you've mentioned, there's a large degree of parasocial relationship involved between a CP/idol and their fans. Rather than the Kpop idol feeding fans the delusion of them being an attractive yet attainable, relatable, single person, these 'koojins' offer CP fans the image of a beautiful friendship/'will they/won't they'/'ambiguous more than friends, less than lovers' relationship -> so once there is a strong emotional attachment to the actors who are part of a pairing, fans will inevitably have strong feelings about their romantic life aka whether the CP is really together or not.
Even though branded pairings or 'love teams' have been an age old phenomenon since the dawn of television (not just in Southeast Asia but in Hollywood as well), I think this phenomenon has flourished particularly in Southeast Asia with many successful stories of actors having on-screen to off-screen real life romances (see: KathNiel in the Philippines, NadechYaya in Thailand...)
What do the companies hiring or signing these actors do to mitigate such an issue/protect their actors? and How does an incident like this usually get resolved?
I think one of the most interesting things about Thailand entertainment industry is that it's so easy for celebrities to sue people for online defamation. So rather than making any statements to 'save' their branded pairings or to resolve any confusion, the company doesn't do anything (which I understand because the artists are already clarifying themselves to the nosy press about any 'possible scandals that happened'). In the case that online commenters are getting too toxic, the artists can just screenshot the toxic tweets/posts, send them to the company's legal department and those defamation cases get resolved by the police.
But even then, that hasn't really stopped fandoms that are too large in size, too delusional in mind to do the crazy things they do even after a branded pairing has stopped working together, such as showing up at the fanmeeting of one actor, wearing masks of the other actor in that inactive ship. In this case, the company can't do anything since... well those people paid to attend the fanmeeting and get a photo with their idol. The most a company could do is probably to 'officially announce the ending of the ship' but... their comments section are still full of obsessed fans til this day so i doubt that announcement made any difference to the fully obsessed and delusional cp fans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or... Do the companies cash in on this sort of fanatic fervor, such that they encourage fans to believe this illusion, or mandate their actors to uphold such an illusion even when they are being themselves outside of acting?
Companies have always generated as much revenue from brand endorsement, brand promotions fanmeetings, concerts, selling merchs of these pairisings as they do from producing and airing these series if not more, so I've also felt a sense of these companies capitalizing upon their branded pairings and the volatileness of delusional fans.
If you're interested here and here are two interviews with P'Tha, the CEO of GMMTV company which TayNew and OffGun are under, I think his sharings in these interviews are very insightful into how the companies view these branded pairings (the main source of income for these companies basically).
I wouldn't say that the companies mandate or force their actors to act a certain to create an illusion of an ambiguous/are they aren't they ship for any branded pairings, but i DO think that being in an environment where two people (who are part of a branded pairing) are constantly being shipped or teased by co-workers and sometimes even the ceo himself... that does make shipper fans more delusional than they normally would. it's like as if you were in a class and everyone around you start shipping two people or pushing two people to be together, you'd be questioning what the others know about those two that you don't... it's 'sus' as the cp fans will say 😂
What are the major stances of Thai BL fans on this issue? Not all of them support this sort of fervor, right?
I think there's all sorts of opinions that pops up whenever there's news of someone dating surfaces, there are no consensus on it because the feelings of the fans rely largely on how emotionally invested they are in the actors/real people. There are fans who will take the news harder (feeling tricked, deceived, all that jazz) and there are also fans who will feel like 'oh that's normal' or they would rejoice in the happiness of their favorite actor having an in real life parner. Also it's probably important to note that the stance of Thai BL fans do not necessarily align with the stance of general Thai audience, for example when Thai actor Bright revealed his girlfriend Nene, basically the entire Thai netizen is supportive of him whereas his previous branded pairing fans are divided between supporting him and feeling 'betrayed' by this reveal.
Lastly: what do you think, personally, is central to this sort of incident?
Personally, I think it's fans' expectations. Similar to what Monk Dol told Dear about not holding on to things too tightly, I think fans often hold on to the romantic stories portrayed on screen more strongly than they do with non-romantic stories. Therefore, the reality of an actor having a real life partner often dispels this illusion of a 'screen-to-life' romance stories that fans may have concocted in their mind for any pairings not limited to whether they are in queer love or straight love stories.
Tumblr media
I feel like it's just much easier for fans of straight pairings to move on since they don't get paired repeatedly as leads together every 1-2 years and they often don't have couples' work (like promoting brands togethers...) long after the ending of their series together, contrasting with branded pairings in BL/GL series who still get brands work together after the ending of their series -> allowing their "ship" fanbase to grow and the fans to have even larger expectations of the actors to have future works together.
Again it might be a lot of me to ask that these dedicated fans not to have expectations (which may eventually lead to their own suffering) because logically these fans do pour in not just emotional investment but also like HUGE financial investment so having expectations are really inevitable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ perhaps they should watch สาธุ and learn to let go of having any expectations for a ship or an idol which will benefit all parties involved 😅
Tumblr media
Anyhow before I end this, please let me ramble and promote my beloved actor, JJ Krissanapoom whom you've mentioned first in your ask.
JJ Krissanapoom is a prolific Thai actor whose works I've followed really early on in my journey of Thai media consumation. He's starred in works of different genres and he's had queer love-adjacent projects before like Diary of Tootsies (with Paopetch aka Monk Ekkachai in สาธุ) and Great Men Academy (with James Teeradon aka Win in สาธุ).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But JJ has been in a highly publicized long term relationship with his girlfriend Thanaerng for seven years now, so I have no fears/worries about the reception of Thai fans to his upcoming queer love work Spare Me Your Mercy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That being said, I'm still very worried about any negative reactions from delusional shippers because even if the actors have nothing to insinuate that they're together or even if they're both actors with in real life partners, the delusional fans always have the following comment templates to bash the drama/actors
I can't see the chemistry between the actors, probably because they both have girlfriends.
Why is the actor posting pictures with his girlfriend instead of promoting his own series?!!?
Why does the actor have an event with his girlfriend rather than an event with his co-star??!?!?!?
things like these... i'm already expecting.... and praying they won't happen... also if they do... i wouldn't be very surprised... and i'm actually very parasocially attached to jj and thanaerng's irl relationship so i feel like i'm even extra protective of their relationship than i already do.
and i'm definitely going off track here... but yes i'm very much looking forward to having jj krissanapoom on my screen again, in this BL series about a cop solving a series of murders of dying patients, to which his doctor boyfriend is the no.1 suspect of.
Tumblr media
and here's a cute recent clip of all three people jaylerr, gun and tay to end my lengthy incoherent ramble

Have you got any advice/resources for non US writers trying to write something set in America? The internet is so US centric that it’s kind of tricky to find research sources that don’t assume you know a lot of things already, making it difficult to work out cultural differences I should be aware of, or to find points of reference I can properly understand. I need a part of my story to take place in the US and I want it to fee asl accurate as I can get it (but I can’t afford to fly over)
Non-U.S. Writer Setting Story in U.S.
I don't know of any resources dedicated specifically to non-U.S. writers who want to set their story in the U.S., but keep an eye on the comments in case anyone knows of any.
The cultural differences you'll need to be aware of depends on your own culture, where in the U.S. your story is set, and who the specific characters are, as many places in the U.S. culturally diverse.
Google Searches - Specific Google searches may be your best bet. Like, for example, "What are some cultural differences between Tokyo, Japan and Atlanta, Georgia?" You can also try something like, "What is the cultural makeup of Atlanta, Georgia" (for example) and then research those specific cultures. And, to get a feel for the general city/state/regional culture, you can try searches like, "What is the culture of Atlanta, Georgia" or "What is the culture of Georgia, U.S.A. like?"
Groups and Forums - Groups and forums (such as on Facebook, Discord, and different web sites) can be a great way to chat with others about specific topics. If you can find travel groups/forums based in your country, you might be able to find posts about traveling to the location of your story setting. Or, you could post and ask if anyone from your country has traveled there and what it was like.
Blogs, Vlogs, and Articles - You can also look for travel blogs written by travelers from your country, as well as travel vlogs on YouTube, to see if they have gone to the location of your story setting. Travel articles in online travel magazines published in your country are another option.
Location-Based Web Sites - Most towns, cities, counties, states, and regions have their own web sites and web-based travel guides geared toward visitors. For example, if you Google, "Visit Atlanta, Georgia, U.S." the first hit is a web site called "Discover Atlanta," which features information about things to do, popular events, areas of the city, getting around, and more. In fact, under their "visitor guides," they have a guide specific to international visitors available in multiple languages. Odds are, other big cities as well as states will have something similar.
My post Setting Your Story in an Unfamiliar Place has some other general suggestions that might be of help. You can also send your questions here, and I can do my best to answer them as will others in the community who are from/familiar with the location of your story.
Happy writing!

I agree with everything Chapell said obviously about how she deserves to not be harassed etc, but I’m really intrigued by the “bitch you don’t know me” approach that she has, because that also feels common from artists nowadays - it’s pretty regular to not get personal posts from artists at all anymore; Sabrina Olivia and Taylor are some additional examples who have really closed off from sharing non-promotional related pieces of themselves. I don’t know much about any of them, and that didn’t used to be true - about them pre-pandemic specifically, or about any famous artists at the moment, really.
And I think that’s really interesting considering that the whole beginning of Taylor’s career, her entire thing was like “no, you DO know me!!!! have so much personal stuff, I AM just like you!!!” - which, she’s spoken about some of that being compulsive and how it wound up being destructive, but I feel like, at the time, at her very core, she DID want fans to know her and be connected to her like that. That wasn’t just a brand, that’s what truly filled her cup and, while it wound up having bad components, was what she genuinely wanted. So I’m fascinated by how different things are now.
It’s useless to think about realities that don’t exist I guess, but I do wonder if, if Taylor was exactly who she was but existed in her Fearless era / age in the year 2024, would she still share with us the way she did then? Would she still have posted vlogs, been so open not only in music but on socials, blogs, etc? Would she have fostered the type of parasocial bond and back-and-forth with us that we really did have with her between 2006 and 2019? Or was that all really just a product of there not having been a publicly known alternative option? Or, is it more that the degree of insanity that people have now is greater than it was then, and it almost requires famous artists like these to close themselves off in the way they do now, for their own sanity and safety? I mean, Halsey has always been Taylor-level accessible to fans, if not more so, and just earlier this month had to close herself off from that because they got so bad. If Chapell Roan existed in 2007, would she still feel a want to put these boundaries up? Or would she feel safer, be safer, and not have to? What happened to make things get so out of control that caused people to feel so entitled? There have always been crazy people, but there’s so MANY crazy people now. Is it just lack of socialization in the pandemic? Does it just seem worse because of socials? Can it really be that simple of an explanation? How do we slam the breaks on it?
It’s just very interesting to think about.

FAQ Behind The Curtain
How do you draw so fast?
I'm currently double majoring in Animation and Creative Writing. I'm built different and also just, not trying very hard on most of these drawings. Drawing fast is kind of the backbone of animation and I've noticed coloring everything makes most people assume whatever line quality or level of finish on the outlines is a stylistic choice rather than laziness. What program do you use? I used Clip Studio Paint until about #021 when I picked up after haitus and used Procreate out of comfort and convenience. Do you use stock backgrounds or make them as you go? Every time I decide a scene needs a new background I draw it out in it's entirety and save it to my collection of backgrounds to use. So yeah, I'm not redrawing the background every single time it appears, I'm basically building out the meteor one room at a time in hopes of one day not having to draw backgrounds anymore. Where do you get the space photos? NASA's Hubble Space Telescope team has politely made all of the telescopes published photographs public domain, I imagine as a service to the planet as the intersection between photographers and people able to go that far into space is understandably zero. Font/Handwriting questions I stopped handwriting for most panels as I realized my best handwriting is all caps and it would be a shame if Karkat was the only character anyone could understand. I still use handwritten text for "special speech" which is whispers, and shouting, anything that's supposed to feel or sound radically different from the rest of the yapping. It did take me a while to settle on a font, I found a really good one for Dave that didn't have apostrophes and gave everyone else a typewriter font for a while, until I found the alternate version of the font I used for Dave that had all the special grammar symbols and numbers I could ever need. It's called the Atari font in the actual file but I have no idea if Atari ever actually used this version of it. Does the ask box ever close? When will my question be answered? It doesn't close and I have more questions than I'll probably ever answer. Some are confused about canon, others have had the core idea of their question asked multiple times already and I just didn't feel like collecting them all as screen shots. And some I just don't have answers for. Some get deleted because I don't like the tone, don't get the joke or found a typo particularly difficult to parse. No biggie. Questions will be answered if and when I feel like drawing a comic for it. Some questions are a better starting point for a comic than others, don't take it personally. Can the characters still talk to John and Jade? Can they run into them in the dream bubbles? According to canon, no. According to this blog, also no. Do you take magic anons? No. While I've gotten flimsy on the vlog framing device in order to make a more entertaining comic overall, the truth still remains that anything beyond messages in a digital inbox from some far off unspecified rift in paradox space would have some pretty immersion breaking implications on the setting overall. I know I answered a question offering Dave some clothes but the clothes were not given to him, I used it more as a prompt for him to take the clothes he already had out of the dryer. Is this blog safe for minors? This blog contains canon typical violence and themes, however when it comes to sexual content (the one thing minors absolutely CANNOT legally interact with) this blog is rated T for teen. Think like The Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother. Sex can be implied and a frequent topic of conversation but never occurs on screen. Ultimately it's up to you and maybe your parents to decide if you can handle the blogs contents as you are responsible for curating your own online experience. TLDR if you're old enough to be on tumblr you should be fine.
How do I address the author?
My name is Sky, she/her pronouns exclusively. Please don’t try to hold conversations via the ask box. Just DM me.
Where do I send questions and comments for the author?

🌟 Learning Japanese 🇯🇵
🔔 あたしのガイドは、人が英語を話す向けー (◔‿◔)
The following guide is based on my personal experience. I am not an authority on the matter and I am still barely a beginner regarding Japanese.
What am I doing?
Learning languages seems non-lienar and that's partly true (at an intermediate level). But, when you're first starting out, there's generally clear goals to work toward.
Your Beginner Goals
Study and master kana
Japanese employs hiragana and katakana in conjunction with kanji. Together, hiragana and katakana make up kana.
Learn the kana (hiragana and katakana)
Learn the difference between kunyomi and onyomi (kanji)
Delve into grammar and establish some foundational vocab
Immerse yourself with input content (movies, shows, etc)
Study and practice a basic form of "pitch accent"
Continue developing your vocab and particle knowledge
Learn about polite versus casual talk and social culture
Use the language (letters, blog, diary, etc)
Seek conversations to apply the language properly
Find and study tests like JLPT to gauge your progress
What can I use?
Duolingo
If this was your first pick, you're naive but not foolish. It'll teach you enough to get help if you're lost in Japan. But it won't be enough to hold a conversation. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Duolingo is free.
I recommend using Duolingo as a supplementary learning tool rather than your primary learning tool
Textbooks and Guides
Many learners and even classes praise numerous textbooks. I for one received a recommendation for Tae Kim's Japanese Guide. So, I'll recommend it to you. Don't be afraid to see out other guides or attempt some textbooks. However, one should always remember that the textbook is NOT demonstrative of naturalistic Japanese.
For example, 「私は猫が好きです」 is what a textbook correctly teaches, though 「猫好きだよ」 is acceptable and more natural in casual Japanese
Building vocabulary
If you want to develop your vocabulary, you can use JLPT anki decks. Anki is a flashcard program for desktop and mobile. You can also use anki in conjunction with a dictionary like Jisho to create new flashcards decks (suited to the words you'd like to learn). You may also pick up vocab from Japanese media (i.e, anime, manga, books, content creators, music, etc).
If you're using Jisho and want to find a word you only know in English, search for it using quotation marks. For example, "school" or, if you want a verb "to learn" ~ it should help. You can spell out Japanese words normally by just typing... i.e, watashi.
Good input versus Bad input
Immersing yourself in Japanese media and culture is good but you need to be mindful of the content you're consuming— take note of the context behind events, interactions, or the relationship of speakers. Be especially mindful of anime and manga— both are known to use hyperbolic language or phrases that aren't commonly used in day to day conversation. Fortunately, some anime and manga do use everyday language, and you can usually find lists.
I recommend using the Tofugu blog to learn about both Japanese language and culture. But if you don't like reading, there are many YT channels like Kaname Naito and NihongoDekita with Sayaka. For general immersion though, here's a sweet vlog channel, a JP Warframe creator, and a natural born otaku.

I got trouble with Ask Ask so I'm moving to this box instead:
I am still trying to read your blog since the beginning but there's so many haha. Been trying to see if any couple things between them but not sure if this one mentioned yet (or may be I haven't reached this kinda topic posts yet) - the necklace. Jaehyun wears it a lot in this time solo content: MV, documentary....Easily to be seen in Roses: The way he sang "though that was good.." and slightly pull the necklace https://x.com/ADORE0214/status/1822925682017763540 and Doyoung in his concert anouncement:  https://x.com/NCTsmtown/status/1793205425862856861 Don't know if that's their couple thing? There's no customize trace in the necklace so not sure if other Neos got it too.

I can only publish messages that I receive via "Send post/Submit", so I have to reply this way.
Tumblr doesn't allow to send links. This is why your Asks are rejected. You need to censor links in some way.
Link, Link2
These two chains are different, however, they share the motif of being made of small round beads. JaeDo didn't wear this chain model before.
And here is a chain that looks even more similar to the one Do wore for the poster. Jae went to LA in February, I think?
(All three chains have different size of beads, but connect the same way bead-bar-bead-bar).
I don't pay close attention to jewelry this year, however, three facts have been established over the years: 1) JaeDo like couply things, 2) silver (in colour) jewerly is their thing, they had same bracelets and similar chains in the past, 3) both of them demonstrate a couply item or a received item for a period of time, try to use it during moments that will be documented (like MVs, pictorials, vlogs).
For example, these converse. Jae wore them for the musical, Horizon, now his solo album. They should be from 2018 (or a copy of that model as a reminder). 127 advertised the brand back then and JaeDo appeared in the same model for EnNaNa shows (Johnny usually wore somethign different). It was the period of JaeDo jumping into couply action.
Identical chains/pendants are usually from the stylist, Jae and Do wear them on separate days. Their own items are similar in design or of the same brand.
This is the most striking example of JaeDo making sure fans get the memo. Do was like "kekeke, I saw Casper and had to buy it, here is a bunch of pictures with me in this new sweater" and never re-appeared in this sweater ever again. Jaehyun needed moral support back then, so Do did a big public gesture.

Writing about Disabilities: Chronic Pain
When writing about anything you are not personally familiar with, research is your best friend. Don't use this post as a catch all and think it's all you need to write characters with chronic pain. This is far from all the information about it, but it's a starting point.
Here's some basic information that I have found and I've also included some of my own experience since I have chronic pain.
Information regarding Chronic Pain
First thing's first, what is chronic pain? According to John Hopkins Medicine, the difference between chronic pain and regular pain is that chronic pain is long-lasting (anywhere from months to years). Chronic pain doesn't stay the same level (0-10) for everyone; also, majority of people with chronic pain don't realize that the normal amount of pain is 0. It can be continuous or it could switch from 0 to 10 to 6 to 3 to 9 to 7 and so on so forth...
There are various types of pain as well: muscle, joint, headaches/migraines, and nerve. You can have one or you can have all of them. Personally, I have all four. The first three for me are chronic and the nerve pain is from a recent surgery. They all have different causes and I know some of them. For example, my migraines are genetic and very common in my family. The joint and muscle pain probably caused multiple things but I know for sure it's caused by the scoliosis I've had for over a decade. My entire body was developing unevenly. So my joints are weakened and different muscle groups developed unevenly (especially my back and core).
Here's some clinical resources for the different kinds of pain that just cover the basics:
Muscle related: Myalgia | John Hopkins, Muscle Pain | Cleveland Clinic
Joint related: Arthralgia | John Hopkins, Joint Pain | Mayo Clinic, Joint Pain | Cleveland Clinic
Migraine related: Migraines | Mayo Clinic, Migraines | NIH.gov
Nerve related: Neuralgia | Health Direct
Something worth doing in your research is to find blogs, vlogs, or influencers that have personal experience with chronic pain. Don't overstep and reach out to them about research for the character you're writing. If they are open to questions, feel free to just remember to be respectful. Otherwise, read or listen to their experiences and research more until you think you have a grasp of it. If you are unsure of something, you have a search engine at your finger times, use it! Remember to cross analyze information though because just because it says it one place online doesn't mean it's true in all cases.
Things to Consider about the character you're writing:
How long have they had chronic pain? Just because it's chronic, doesn't mean they've had it all their life. If they've had it for a while, they might be good at hiding their pain or masking. They also may be more aware of their body and their limits (ex. they know they can't walk more than x miles before being in pain). They probably have already figured out some treatments that help them manage the pain like pain killers or hot/cold therapy. If they only recently developed it, they're pain may be more visible (ex. they can't sit still because of pin and needles). They'll probably more vocal in their complaints of it as well.
What is causing their pain? Don't give your chronic pain just to give them something. Do they have an autoimmune illness or some form of invisible illness? Do they have something kidney stones? Do they have an illness that has flare-ups? If you're writing fantasy, did someone curse them with never ending pain? You don't have to flat out state it to the reader if you don't want to. You're allowed to make it unknown but as the author, make sure there is a reason you are writing a character like this. Make sure it has a role in the story you're telling. If you are writing chronic pain that's connected to a specific illness, remember to also research that illness. Chronic pain is usually a symptom not a diagnosis. If you look my own medical chart, it says I have a history of chronic pain and it's lists the kinds of pain. The only thing that is a diagnosis of pain is migraines (but those can also be a symptom it depends on the person).
**Once again, always do more research. Do not use this post as all you need. Anytime you write something or create a character that has something you aren't familiar with, you need to take the time to learn about it. Research Research Research!

Tumblr media
With the rise of Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, it seems as though blogging has become a thing of the past... or has it? Let's see if blogging is still relevant in the age of Instagram and Tiktok.
The Early Days:
Tumblr media
Blogging first became a thing when Justin Hall created what he called his "personal homepage" on Links.net, where he reviewed HTML examples from other online links (Zantal-Wiener 2020). 3 years later, Jon Barger, a fellow blogger, coins the term "weblog", reflecting the process of logging the web. Another 2 years later, Peter Merholz, a programmer, shortens the term "weblog" into "blog", to which Merriam-Webster would declare as the word of the year in 2004 (NDMU 2018).
~ TLDR ~
1994 - Justin Hall's "personal homepage" on Links.net
1997 - Jon Barger coins the term weblog
1999 - Peter Merholz shortens "weblog" -> "blog"
2004 - Merriam-Webster declares "blog" as their word of the year
The prime time of internet exploration (for the masses) between the late-90s and early-00s are also home to the births of iconic blogging platforms such as Blogger and WordPress (NDMU 2018).
These early days were the chance for the readers and writers of the world to digitalise their bibliophilic habits as they ventured new ways to connect with bookworms across the globe.
The Evolution:
Tumblr media
Right in the midst of blogging's mainstreaming years, the public launching of YouTube in 2005 sparked the evolution of blogging. With that, the wonders of blogging were no longer confined to the wordsmiths of the world.
YouTube's culture of video blogging, or vlogging, appealed to those who preferred audio and visual stimulation, thus continuing the reach of blogging as a whole (Maslanka 2017). This video blogging culture brought forth most of the blogging cultures still in tact today, such as the aforementioned Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, which are forms of blogging that invoke creativity in a different medium than what blogging first started as.
The Question:
Tumblr media
lyrics captured from Spotify
So blogging evolved from choosing the right writing style to choosing the right background music, but what does that mean? Does no one do the former anymore? Is everyone just trying to accomplish the latter?
Take, for instance, you feel like cooking something new. Some people would turn to a cooking channel on YouTube, while some prefer clicking on the recipe blogs that their search engine compiles for them. My friend would rather watch a video about the newest technology, whereas I would like to read about it in a blog post instead.
It all comes down to personal preference.
Numerous blog platforms are still around and are home to a growing number of blog accounts that cater to different genres of digital communities; because just as many people there are on this planet, exists a vast range of interests, preferences, and personalities. These aspects result in the creation of digital communities that almost anyone can find a seat in. These different groups then evolve within themselves to create their own set of cultures, norms, as well as trends.
So perhaps someone who spends their days watching Instagram Stories and TikTok Lives may seem to think that blogging is a dying flame, but to someone who replies to tweets and writes fantasy fiction on Tumblr, would disagree. In fact, posting short snippets of your day or sharing your thoughts in a tweet is a form of blogging in itself, specifically known as microblogging. Microblogging is an example of blogging cultures trickling down to make room for the readers and writers of the world who enjoy doing so, but in a more casual setting.
It is also important to note that personalities are not a black and white thing. Preferences are not an either or situation. There are many people who enjoy both reading blogs and watching videos.
・・・・・・
Besides leisure pursuits, blog accounts can also be used professionally. Setting up a portfolio blog could serve as a digital gallery of one's work (ThemesKingdom 2019). For example, a programmer's portfolio blog could include the programs they have coded or their experiences with different programming languages. The inclusion of a portfolio blog to a resume helps future employers grasp the personalities, morals, and ethics of the potential employee.
And along the lines of career-oriented blogs are money-making blogs; a solid option for the adventurers who seek a non-conventional career path. These type of blogs often rake in revenue through brand partnerships, affiliate links, premium content or private consultations (Polner & Bottorff 2023).
The Answer:
Definitely! I would confidently say that blogging is still relevant in the midst of Instagram and TikTok's uprising.
While there is no denying that Instagram and TikTok may be more popular amongst certain demographics, the future of blogging continues to march on, because as long as there are bookworms around, blogging will remain relevant ⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆

⚠️ Disclaimer no. 2: I don't own either of the posts or the videos nor I own any of the rights to original posts, videos and photos and neither of the posts are mine.
📷 📹 Credits goes to Logan Sargeant, W******* R***** T*** and A*** A****; Twitter/ X (For the video posts) plus IG (Author's note: Ugh, IG . . . 😒) for all of the respective images/ pictures/ photos/ photographs of Logan and A***.
Those photos reminds me of how Logan would do a video blog on how he would introduce A*** on his very own YT Channel and then this is where they both have to do a challenge via a split screen between A*** and Logan (A*** on the left and Logan on the right of the screen) plus while Logan would grumble how he would lose the challenge, A*** on the other hand would said he would win the challenge however in reality; it is Logan who did unexpectedly won the challenge thanks to his demeanor of both the level of calmness and the level of patience he had in general and . . . for the rest of the vlog; he bought coffee for the whole team as a way of interacting and building a friendship between them and him as Ben (A.k.a Benny) would give him a helping hand with the coffee he had bought it just for the crews would are hard at work on the car.
Also; this would take place in his first season / 1st Season in Formula 1 on the year 2023 where he does looked very different back before the change in the off-season before the brand new season of the 2024 had arrived.
Plus I would imagine if Logan would did the vlog for his YT channel with his turquoise iPhone and a matching protective neon turquoise iPhone case to protect his iPhone just in case if he dropped it or anything.
Don't worry, Logan is truly both a responsible and a careful iPhone owner as he does usually takes care of his iPhone very carefully.
Also, on a serious note: if you ever asked me if Logan does truly had a girlfriend in real life; I would say "This isn't any of my own business on getting to know about Logan's private life based on his status on either being single or being taken but this isn't truly is any of business on getting to know whether he is either single or being taken. That is none of my business for real; so leave me alone and let me stay in my very own lane thus thank you very much for real.

Damn how I wish I could come off anon right now because I'm HOLLERING!! But I can't because I'm of a different fandom and I don't want people to think I'm a shipper. I just wanted to say that I knew Cocamalfeta would block you as soon as you asked that question about how Jimin has been behaving in a questionable manner.
That person doesn't like Jimin, period. And it's all because he's "standing in the way" of Taekook. It's evident in how they always talk in their posts. Just the other day the got mad at a post by someone who tagged Taekook in a post that was about Jimin (the person made a poll asking armys where they'd like to go out on a date with Jimin). Our darling Cocamalfeta was like "geez! Why do you have to tag taekook!?" Lol
I get that OP didn't have to tag taekook because the post had nothing to do with them but Coco's response had me raising my eyebrow. Sometimes you encounter things about other members in the Jikook tag and it hardly bothers you, you just keep scrolling. So it's telling for someone to act like that. Coco can't even take reading Jimin's name. A typical delusional unhinged taekooker.
oh believe me when i say i knew they were going to block me cause there's no way they would have come out of that without straight up outing themselve as jm anti (which they quite literally do but love to pretend it's not their dislike towards him that's talking) they knew that too. i know for a fact once they list even two things about jm i can get right back at them with the same example of tae or jk or any other members doing the same thing I'm confident about that.
i have seen cocamalfeta even before yesterday through some other vlog but when i scrolled through their blog back in months and saw them beliveing the "company is hiding taekook" theories and how they said the Taekooker they follow are not jm antis to their anons(when they were telling them to watch original content and they're following jm-jkk anti) when infact that's one of the biggest jm and jkk anti on twitter who's theories they were believing so i blocked them then and there knowing it's a lost cause as soon as i saw their "Theories". But yesterday was the first time i interacted with them that too because they pissed me off with saying jimin deserves the Critisism because of his actions while also calling out others for hating on tae like the hypocrisy?
i have seen this pretentious act of loving jm tens of times throughout the years so it doens't work with me. i can tell how much you love him through the way you talk about him and how you do it. Once you start beliveing Taekookers' theories you best believe one way or other you're gonna end up hating on jm. if you're loving taekook without any manipulation then only you can love jimin. see it's very simple, all their theories revolve around how the company is pushing jikook and how it majorly benefits jm and how those things bring conflicts in taekook and how it's hurting tae etc in short they're portraying jm as some villian so it's obviously you're gonna end up hating on him. They dislike jungkook too from time to time when he does something for jimin or mentions him, jungkook who's half of their ship so if they can hate on him jm don't even stand a chance. idt the people who can't even Accept a normal friendship between two members has the right to question others.
