1. You are someone’s dream girl exactly the way you are right now.

We put so much emphasis on growth and getting to that “next best place”, which is fine, but we always forget that we deserve self-love as we are right now. It does not mean that you aren’t at your “best” physically and/or mentally that you aren’t deserving of love, kindness, and respect.

2. Perspective is everything

Stop stressing over that one bad grade you received at school. In ten years, you won’t even remember what teacher gave it to you. Focus your energy on things that’ll have lasting impacts. When you look back on your life, you want to see the beauty of it, not the anguish.

3. Growth isn’t linear

Don’t blame yourself for messing up. We aren’t perfect and we are bound to mess up every once in a while. Learn from your mistakes, and try to not repeat them. And if you do, that’s okay, there’s always another time. Growth has no time limit.

4. You are not a bad person

If you are sitting here constantly asking yourself if you are a bad person or underserving of love, I’m here to tell you one thing: bad people don’t worry about whether they are perceived as “good” or “bad”. Give yourself grace, and stop letting your overthinking consume you.

still thinking about the day season finale stills dropped and everyone started talking about how buck and tommy's date was certainly gonna be ruined. eddie will interrupt, the call about bobby will come in. approximately seven million "enjoy it while it lasts" jokes were made. many were okay with it, excited even, let's see where the story goes. some were worried. a certain chunk was celebrating because, yknow, bucktommy bones. it's gonna be nothing of a scene, it's gonna be under a minute, it's gonna be a kill order on the relationship yadda yadda.

then the episode arrived and... it was not ruined. or interrupted. or anything of the sort. it was just, after a long and hard day, buck's home. his boyfriend is there too and they are carrying their plates to the table for the dinner they will share, all casual. they choose to sit close to each other and because they're comfortable, cozy, even languid. there's wine sitting warm in their bellies and a song with the lyrics "come home and be with your man" is playing softly in the background. tommy asks buck if he's okay while looking at him with all the gentleness he holds in his big body. he takes turn to share his own troubles because he's comfortable with buck too. when buck gives him a coy smile and his words turn coquettish, he lets him lead them there. here's the season's last look at them and they're just so, yknow, alive. it was just so insane.

so about mind reader mycheal (if we get to ask more about him that is) how would he react to an mc who doesn't think something rude when they first see him but rather they are fascinated or find him cute?

For context! Funnily enough I think MR!Mychael would be even more suspicious of you than anyone else he's met hahaha. He'd think he misread your thoughts like being on the wrong radio station or something.

What ends up happening is he pays even closer attention to your thoughts and when it happens again he's just ???? the entire time. Cue feedback loop of him digging around your brain saying all these nice things about him and that's probably where the attachment begins.

soap's whole deal being sniper and demolitions gets me going bc on the surface they sound so different but when you get into it, you realise it's bc soap's smart

sniping is all math; calculating distances and wind interference and bullet drop. something i think people overlook is he was listed as a sniper first so it can be implied that he's better at it than demolitions. he does more sniping in both campaigns than demolitions work; in capture or kill, ghost specifically calls on him to take down the aq snipers

and demolitions is math with a hit of chemistry; knowing what mixes with what, knowing how much to use, recognising environmental factors and adjusting accordingly. it's not just about the boom; so much work goes into contained/ planned explosions. especially when having enough power for a breacher charge and not bringing down the whole building is the difference between mission success and failure

the chemical bombs he makes in alone can't just be any old cleaners, they have to have the correct reaction to each other; he just knew off the top of his head what would mix with what to create what reaction. he would also potentially have to recognise them by sight/smell bc they would’ve been written in spanish

soap would also have to know architecture; recognising structural integrity and weak points so he knows exactly where to plant a charge to bring it down and how it'll come down

he has an incredible soldier's mind people just forget that bc he's sociable which itself is a skill

we know he tends to buck against orders he doesn't agree with like when he pushes back against ghost in capture or kill and shepherd when he tells them to release hassan

he gets closer to people and sees if he can trust them and that's when he follows them without question. really think about how he talks to alejandro and rudy; he asks about their home and alejandro's family and rudy's relationship with him. those aren't questions you ask a stranger after a few hours of knowing them. that's not even touching on his relationship with ghost

he also deliberately brings people of higher ranks down to his level; talking informally with ghost and giving him a shoulder punch, addressing alejandro (a colonel!!) by his first name and rudy by his nickname despite literally just meeting them. he personalises all of them and it’s in direct opposition to the reason most characters do that; it’s not due to insubordination or lack of respect, the more he respects and trusts someone, the more casual he is with them

he digs into people; he wants to know what makes them tick and that determines if he can one, trust them and two, follow their orders. once he decides that, he's the ultimate soldier; he bleeds loyalty which makes him vicious when that loyalty is taken for granted

he isn't naive or bubbly or insecure; he's an incredibly smart and aware soldier. he's aggressive and bloodthirsty and loyal and intuitive and i love him so much

WANDEE GOODDAY (2024) EP. 10 // EP. 11

I know George mentioned quality time and acts of service as Edwin‘s love languages, but I’ve also always thought of words of affirmation as an important one for Edwin, so I made this compilation of all the words of affirmation from Edwin throughout the show.

Two observations from making this video: (1) video editing is way harder than I thought and the vision I‘d had in my head was much cooler than the end result, and (2) the instances of Edwin communicating approval or affection through words increase so much the further into the show we get. Made me think of how George said in so many interviews that Edwin’s journey in season one is about learning how to love, and I feel like the video really shows that and also that he learns to express that love, which is just so beautiful.

There are often two choices in a situation: there is the easy one that will make you feel comfortable at the moment, and the hard one that will make you feel better in the long run.

It is always up to you to decide which choice is which. You have autonomy, you are allowed to make a choice that feels easier. So often, there are situations that feel unwinnable. Situations where one must pick between "do this thing that will kill me slowly, or do this other thing that will kill me slowly". And that sucks. And I am sorry.

In the moments that you know the difference between the easy choice that will ultimately make life feel worse, and the choice that will suck at the moment but ultimately make you feel more free, remember the difference between the two. It's up to you to choose which one you pick.

I'm just here to tell you that the choice that feels difficult, be that leaving (home, church, an abusive relationship), or working through (telling someone about your working conditions, your struggles, deciding to let other people help, deciding to recover) is possible.

You are strong enough to make a choice that feels better, even if it is the more difficult option at the present moment
