How was it?? I was kind of hoping to tear this shit apart and distribute some of the worst verdicts ever but now I feel it would be unfair, because the cola is actually pretty ok, you know, for a cola. What isn’t ok, is the emotion I get looking at the disgusting packaging of the beverage – it’s pretty obvious the client told designers to “go all-in with the worn-out hipster shit-style cuz’ that garbage fucking sells to them morons!” and here we see the result – cute red panda in dead hyena’s clothing.

How was it?? Yesterday, even though I didn’t really crave for anything to drink, I specifically opened up a bottle of soda from my ‘collection’, just to have something to write about today. This pineapple soda comes from Ecuador but tastes like it really came from Fuckyouador. Fuckyouador is, semi-obviously, a made up country where pineapples are mainly being used as sex toys and then pressed into a horrid, sweet and artificial liquid called Quintuples. Kinky shit but I can imagine there are a few weirdos out there pouring this stuff down their throats while masturbating to reruns of MacGyver or sth.

What is it?? Festivo Portofino. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? First, the drink was refreshing, ginger-y and bitter-y aftertaste-y – probably something an Italian vegetarian would drink while violently hugging trees. Second, I won’t be posting anything new for about a week, since it’s midsummer day celebrations starting from tomorrow, where I will be getting somewhat moderately inebriated on long drink, vodka, cigarettes and, of course, soft drinks. The only trick I haven’t figured out yet, is how to remember the taste of theses sodas while shitfaced.

What is it?? Kickapoo Joy Juice. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it??  I had just finished a 35km bike ride when I opened my fridge i.e. soda vault to pour something refreshing into my sweaty and hairy carcase. I decided to go with this little number – Kickapoo Joy Juice. Although the drink wasn’t bad at all – some unique nuances in taste and aroma but generally seemed like it was meant for kids – I couldn’t quite get over the phrase ‘joy juice’. I don’t want to go all sexual and explicit here but ‘joy juice’? Am I the only one with a fucked up mind?

What is it?? Spuma Nera Baladin. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? Obviously I ran the name of this drink through Google translate right away and the results are in – ‘baladin black foam’. Though it may seem offbeat, it’s actually pretty spot on – I almost had black foam dripping from my mouth because of the unexpected rich & deep taste of this ginger ale’ish Italian liquid. To clarify – it was one of them rare good black foams, not the bad ones from low-budget horror films or X-files episodes. Also, if they ever remake LOST (probability about 99%), they should replace ‘black smoke’ with ‘black foam’, for the lulz.

What is it?? Appelsin. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? Got this quite some time ago from a friend who brought it from Iceland. It’s basically Icelandic Fanta but, obviously, about 15 times better. However, this doesn’t mean Appelsin was extremely good or sth, it just means it’s a lot better than Fanta. How can I explain it better.. Well, one is like that orange-faced idiot Donald Trump shivering alone in fetal position in an abandoned igloo and the other is like that bearded hot-chick-surrounded rapper Drake extravagantly dripping fresh orange juice on booties made of ice. Clear enough?

What is it?? Grün. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? I’m now nearing the end of reviewing German soft drinks for a while and this one – Grün – is a fitting completion to a solid line-up. Grün is obviously a ‘tarhun’ – green tarragon based soda, variations of which I’ve reviewed many times before. Loved it, so did my friend Noodle – the lovely dachshund on the background. Just look at that dog’s face, I’m pretty sure no tennis balls, bones, cats or assholes could match the excitement level that’s going on right there.

What is it?? Konterbrause. Stiller or bubbles?? Stiller. How was it?? Konterbrause was one of the soft drinks I actually had heard about prior to arriving in Berlin and naturally I bought one (again, I would’ve tried all their flavours but spending 30+ euros on sodas and walking home with so many extra kilos made zero amounts of sense, so cut me some slack). However, the thing I hadn’t heard about, was @konterbrause being more of a sports drink rather than a soda, so suddenly I had all these electrolytes and vitamins loose in my system, beating the crap out of sugar molecules from previous test subjects and making me go for a 30+km bike tour through 3 of Berlin’s flea markets which resulted in me getting some Jason Donovan, Rozalla and Timex Social Club on 7-inch vinyl. So, obviously, win-win.

What is it?? Helden Pause. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? To tell you the truth – I can not remember how it was, since I consumed it over a month ago between 9 different german sodas. Very unprofessional of me, I know.  So I’m just gonna try and ramble about random shit that has nothing to do with the product at hand, just to fill up 4-5 lines of text in my DLG.doc MS Word 2010 document. Shit, 2010? Should I upgrade or sth? Ah, fuck it, 2010 was anyway a better year than 2015, although I can’t remember a single thing I did back then. And THAT, my friends, is how you connect 2 stories.

What is it?? Ali Cola. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? Another interesting cola I found at @getraenkefeinkost – you know, I can’t think of anything more difficult than making a cola stand out amongst thousands of other colas, except maybe painting on sand or making love to bees, so I’d say they managed to create a cola that differs slightly from its rivals. How? I don’t know, maybe they added shredded sand or bees to it, maybe it’s their freaky “NO RACISM!” ad campaign, maybe I’m obsessed with sand, bees and colas and need to book my next therapist appointment early, who knows! P.S. Dialling ‘Brain Doctor’ now..

What is it?? Ostmost Apple & Red Beet. Stiller or bubbles?? Stiller. How was it?? Sadly I didn’t have the chance to try out other @ostmost flavours so I’m gonna have to base my thoughts solely on this one – apple and beet juice drink/spritzer. Even though Ostmost’s design language is perfectly on point an inviting, I can’t say exactly the same about the contents. The flavor was a bit weak, I mean, I kind of felt like drinking water with powdered beet and a spoonful of apple juice. BUT, the overall concept is interesting – not as interesting as high-speed trains or vaginas, but still, interesting.

What is it?? ChariTea Mate Sparkling. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? I have tried my fair share of mate-drinks in the last couple of years and I must admit, ChariTea was significally better than most of ‘em. Narrowing it down, there can be only 2 reasons for that – because of the surprisingly balanced and carbonized combo of tea + subtle hints of orange/lemon juice or because I had just avoided getting into a problem with the U-bahn officers for travelling BACKWARDS with the same ticket. Either way, great success!

What is it?? Afri Cola. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? If my site’s name were “bottlesletsgo” then I’d ramble on and on about how pretty this bottle was, how guilty I felt when tossing this masterpiece in the trash and how many DIY projects would be possible to turn this beauty into a flower vase, pencil holder or some shit like that. However, it’s “DRINKSletsgo”, so here I am focusing on the matter at hand – drinks. So, drum sounds, fireworks etc, because here we go – it was a good cola, BAM!

What is it?? Herbal Moscow Fermented Ginger. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? One of the best ginger drinks out there – this little can packs a pretty strong punch of throat-tickling ginger & lime that may perform an unprecedented K.O. on some of the more lightweight soft drink consumers. Furthermore, later in the evening we visited Berlin’s @clubgretchen to see some d&b legends fuck the place up and the Moscow Mule they served there (with @herbalmoscow as one of the ingredients) proved to be an excellent dance partner. On a different note – we later took the U-bahn home and met an African dude who thought that instead of Prince, Phil Collins had died. We just went along with it and sang ‘In The Air Tonight’ together, in perfect unison (no).

What is it?? Cucumis. Stiller or bubbles?? Bubbles. How was it?? So, enough with Asia for now, here comes the stuff I looted (bought) while in Berlin. Cucumis is obviously a soft drink that tastes like cucumber and to be perfectly frank – it forced the sceptic in me eat his own head, because it was pretty awesome. Cucumis truly made me feel sophisticated (just like the label says) – it was like I had just read all the books in the world and was on my way to some secret research lab where they open up my head, then poke and gasp at my extra-smart super-brain while taking notes for next generations. Of course, this sad realm all came to an end when I finished the bottle and couldn’t even find a trash can, even though it was right next to my fucking bench. @cucumisdrinks
