I love that whenever people draw any kind of Yiling Heir Sizhui we always depict him with his collars closed.
I imagine him trying to go Tiddies Out like Wei Wuxian exactly one time, only for the Tiddy Laozu himself to see it and aggressively tuck Sizhui’s robes tighter while scolding him that a respectable young man has no business showing so much skin!
Sizhui can’t look into the camera like he’s on The Office because cameras haven’t been invented yet but he does make exasperated eye contact with one of the nearby fierce corpses.

The more I think about this [this post], the more a Yiling Wei Sect AU comes to mind.
Everything plays out mostly the same, but the rumors are true! Wei Wuxian really did start his own sect!
Perhaps the timeline diverges after Qiongqi Path.
Wei Wuxian successfully convinces Wen Ning and Wen Qing not to turn themselves in. They have a sect to run together now! They'll deal with the consequences together.
The siege still happens but it's more evenly matched. Since it was just rumors that wwx started a sect, they were more prepared to fight wwx and wn. Two against many. They didn't expect wwx to have actually skilled disciples! (In my heart of hearts, wwx's disciples would be a bunch of lost, outcasted queer kids he found (think mxy!!) that found a home in his sect)
The siege concludes with casualties on both ends. Both jc, who's leading the siege still, and wwx have newly formed sects. They can't afford to loose much more. It's a draw. Terms and conditions of the draw are to be established.
Meanwhile, the siege is still locked down as the greatest battle in history. Lan disciples come back tired and ragged. Lan Wangji has received his punishment of 33 lashes and is in seclusion.
He is never the wiser if his brother comes in and says wwx lost the siege and is now gone.
In the dead of night Iwj breaks several more rules sneaking out of the Cloud Recesses and heading towards the burial mounds. He has to see wwx's dead body for himself.
He doesn't expect to see a recovering, but mostly okay sect. With just a roughed up, fully alive wwx attending to his disciples.
And when wwx sees Iwj and the state he is in, he comes to the correct conclusion about what happened to him.
This is when I play my uno reverse card.
Instead of Iwj wanting wwx to "come back to Gusu with me” to protect him from the world. We have a wwx wanting lwj to "stay in the burial mounds with me" to protect him from the Lan clan.

My small collection with designs by Xue Yang and Mo Xuanyu from mdzs in different AU.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those who are somehow familiar with my arts know how much I like to draw them together. Besides the fact that I like their canonical designs, they didn't suit me for certain subjects and I came up with others. I've already posted three of the four sketches.
1. Mo Village AU.
The design of this homewear was specially designed for a role-playing game, the plot of which is based on the life of Yang and Yu in Lanling. According to the plot, due to some circumstances, the guys go to the Mo village to visit the Xuanyu's family. They stay there and rest before returning to the sect.

3. Lanling Jin AU
4. Everyday Lanling Jin AU

I've found there are two specific genres of mdzs canon-divergence universes that I am most fond of.
There's the classic nothing-goes-wrong AU. Featuring Cloud Recesses pining and friend-to-lovers and romcom nonsense. I fully believe that wangxian would have eventually gotten together in their original lifetimes if only they were given the time and opportunity to do so. Sure Wei Wuxian is very bad at recognizing his own feelings but I have faith that eventually it would click. Pure fluff. Everything is beautiful and nothing hurts.
And then there's Yiling Wei Sect AU, my beloved. We are legitimizing the Burial Mounds settlement through political alliance and interpersonal connections. And then, then, we are fixing all the problems and saving everyone. Xue Yang? He's found and rescued by the Yiling Laozu as a small child and doesn't become filled with mortal resentment. Mo Xuanyu? He becomes a disciple of YilingWei and kicks ass. Meng Yao? Yeah sure, we really need a PR person! Nie Mingjue? He's not going into qi deviation on our watch! Nie Huaisang? He's pals with Wei Wuxian and probably learns the battle fan at some point and he knows everything about everyone. Everyone can be saved with the power of Wei Wuxian not having a mental breakdown. Yeah, that's right, give that man a support structure and I think everything will be okay. Is this actually accurate to canon? Fuck off, this is my house.

Pt. 1 Pt. 2 Pt. 3
Wei Wuxian enters their meeting room with an innocent-looking smile on his lips and silver eyes shining with playfulness, which makes both Meng Yao and Wen Qing get on high alert, their past experience telling them that whatever the kid is thinking, is not good at all
"So!" The teen smiles with excessive mirth "I received an interesting wish today"
"Going by your standards, I must question what exactly you mean by 'interesting'" Meng Yao comments wryly, even if they have shared interests and multiple things in common, some of A-Xian's tastes have always been more... weird; courtesy of growing up in a mass grave and being raised by ghosts, he guesses
The teen shows them a smirk in response
"Qing-jie" he turns to the healer "What kind of person is Wen Ruohan?"
The question takes her by sorprise
"Wen Ruohan? Well... he is very powerful and ambitious, when we left he was starting to invade minor sects out of some delusion that everyone was too dumb to lead themselves so he has to conquer us and do it himself" Wen Qing scoffs with a frown. Honestly, moving to the burial mounds was the best decision she could've taken
"Huh..." Wei Wuxian contemplates it for about a second "Between us, who do you think is more powerful?" He wonders innocently
Both Meng Yao and Wen Qing feel shivers down their spine
"Wha-"
"What's this about, A-Xian?" Meng Yao looks at the one he considers a younger brother with trepidation, the teen clears he throat and starts reading the scroll in his hands
"'Great Yiling Patriarch, I've heard all about your amazing accomplishments, so I send this missive to you out of despair. As you must know by now, the cultivation world is going through a great war against the Wens. Because of this, my family is in danger, so I must ask... please kill Wen Ruohan'" both officers loudly inhale. Wei Wuxian continues "'... I can't ask you to kill the entire Qishan Wen sect, though if you did the reward would be just as big, so at least I implore you to take down Wen Ruohan, without him, the remaining Wens might surrounder and my family will be safe. With this request, I leave you the list of payment and a way of contact' so it says"
"Ho~ interesting indeed" Meng Yao says that but he looks like on the verge of qi deviation
"So? What's the reward?" Wen Qing questions with a frown
"Hmmm says that the ownership of several stores and locals here in Yiling, an entire cargo of silks, gold, silver, licor, rice, rare medicinal plants, and the ownership of a plot of land in Yingchuan" Wei Ying reads
"What?! Let me see that!" Wen Qing practically rips the letter from him and Meng Yao also hurry to peek at it next to her. Wei Wuxian looks at them fondly, they get along very well despite their usual bickering "Are you going to meet them?" The healer asks him with her 'suspicious scowl', as Wei Wuxian calls it, the teen shrugs
"Sure, the Yiling Patriarch never refuses a wish"
'He says that but whenever he doesn't want to grant a petition he makes the offender forget everything about it' Meng Yao thinks raising an eyebrow 'Well, if I were asked to kill and torture innocent people I'd do the same' he sighs, and turns to look at Wen Qing, he knows they share similar thoughts
"These plants that are listed..." Wen Qing seems conflicted "They could help Meng-furen with her breathing problem"
"For real?!" Wei Wuxian exclaims
"Its a very strong possibility, what she has is something chronic from her days in the city, bad weather, and a weak constitution, Wei Wuxian's treatment has been effective so far, but it only alleviates the symptoms and stalls them, the problem persists, which is why she still has such a hard time in winter, this-" Wen Qing points at a plant whose name Wei Wuxian doesn't recognize "is a root that could help her lungs expel all the mucus and make them stronger"
"Auntie..." Wei Ying beams at the news "Well, I was going to accept solely for the challenge but with this..."
"Wait a second A-Xian!" Meng Yao interjects "I understand how big this is, and I know how strong you are, but to fight Wen Ruohan..." he pauses, A-Xian is strong, he really is powerful but... "It's too risky, what if it's a trap?"
"Huh?" Wei Wuxian looks at him curiously, normally, he fully trusts his instincts, which were honed to perfection to avoid any type of danger by living inside the Burial Mounds, but after growing up with Yao-ge, he learned to trust his slyness and understanding of human plotting more
"The only city the Wens have been unable to obtain is Yiling, they've tried multiple times and you always send them flying, so what if it's a trap to lure you out?"
"Hmmm? The Wens also failed to take Yunmeng though," Wei Wuxian adds
"Thanks to you" Meng Yao crosses his arms "My point stands, also... if you enter the battle alone with your powers, the war council may have problems with it, remember what we talked about?"
"Hmmmm that I have to play nice with the other sects?" Wei Ying wonders innocently
"Exactly" his brother frows at him "If we want to grow as sect, to exchange goods and obtain things we don't have, we can't allow ourselves to make them think we are an enemy"
"Then what can we do?" the Yiling Patriarch frowns slightly "This is a wish that I really want to fulfill, because of the families that are suffering, because of Auntie Meng and..." there's a guilty, yet playful glint in his silver eyes "because it really sounds like fun"
There's a moment of silence while the two arms of the new Yiling Wei sect try to process what their patriarch just said
"I... see" Wen Qing facepalms "Well, if that's what you want we can't stop you" she sends him a long-suffering look "So? What's the plan? How do you intend to kill Ruohan and be friends with the other sects?"
After a moment, both Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian turn to see Meng Yao, expectation bright in their eyes, the strategist sweatdrops at their expressions and sighs, already used to this 'This kid, really...'
"Alright, let's see... why don't we start by..." Meng Yao takes out an old scroll that they received three months ago "entering the sunshot campaign as they ordered?"
Wei Wuxian might've been adopted by Meng Shi, but at that moment, they have the exact same maniacal grin on their faces. Wen Qing suppresses a shiver

💙🧡Wish I could forget the taste of your skin and the feel of your hands pinning me down
By:KizuKatana
Summary:
Wei Wuxian would like to think that - if he had known that Lan Wangji would walk out of his life immediately after they hooked up- he wouldn’t have given into his ridiculous attraction for the man. He wished he were better at lying to himself.
Guest-starring Lan Wangji’s canonically poor communication choices after romantic cave encounters
Chapter:10/10
Words:63,215
Status:completed
“I don’t work with major sects. Especially not the Lan.”
~~
He had to see Wei Ying, to make sure he was okay. He hadn’t been allowed to see Wei Ying six years ago, and the man had nearly died. Would have died if Wen Qing hadn't randomly happened to be interviewing at Gusu hospital that same day. It was unacceptable that a sheer coincidence was the only reason Wei Ying was still alive. The company Lan Wangji’s family owned had put Wei Ying at risk, then abandoned him. Someone in his family’s company had made the decision to fire Wei Ying without notice, which violated company policy. Someone in his family’s company had further made the decision to pull medical support over a policy that was clearly not meant to be used in this way. Lan Wangji was going to find this ‘ someone .’ And when he did… Lan Wangji cut himself off at the shocking violent images that flickered through his normally peaceful mind. There was precedent for such punishments. Though much of his ancestor’s history had been burned, enough survived to make it clear that Lan discipline had always been harsh. In the modern context, he knew such measures would be viewed as archaic… even barbaric. But cultivators were given leeway by the authorities and society at large to handle their own business. Lan Wangji felt a primal sort of anger and thirst for vengeance that - for the first time in his life - made him fiercely glad that there would be no boundaries to stay his hand if he found the one responsible for Wei Ying’s treatment.
~~
“You never told me that you and Hanguang-Jun had been romantically involved.” Wei Wuxian choked on his in-drawn breath, which sent him into a coughing fit that lasted almost a minute. “What?!” He wheezed, when he could finally form words again. “Why would you think… it was only… we weren’t romantically involved. Fuck, who says shit like that?” Wen Qing eyed him skeptically. “If you’re trying to play this off cool, you are failing spectacularly. Though that’s nothing new.”
~~
Lan Xichen shot him a sideways glance, and continued to scroll. “Wangji…,” Lan Xichen said after several more pages of scrolling. “Did you have time to do anything other than follow Wei Wuxian around and document his actions?” Lan Wangji felt his ears heat as report after report with his signature flashed across the screen. He had, perhaps, not realized that there were so many reports he had written about Wei Ying. “I was the Compliance officer,” Lan Wangji replied tersely. “Mn,” Lan Xichen said, an unforgivable smirk appearing on his face. “You wrote him up for wearing too few layers on a night hunt after being covered in Yao viscera and changing into civilian attire?” Lan Wangji clenched his jaw. Wei Ying had been wearing only shorts and a tee-shirt. It had been a professional trip. It had been… distracting. “You know that most people don’t flirt by giving citations of minor rule violations to the person they are interested in, right?” Lan Xichen persisted, openly laughing at him, even if it was only with his eyes. “ Ge ,” Lan Wangji said repressively, which only served to amuse Lan Xichen more.
~~
He also really wanted to run his sword through Su She, metaphorically. And also literally. His hand flexed around the cool, smooth hilt of Bichen. He trusted his brother, but Lan Xichen was kind. Su She did not deserve kindness. “Please trust me, Wangji,” Lan Xichen pleaded, as if reading his brother’s thoughts. “Su She must face discipline. According to the sect rules, not civilian laws,” Lan Wangji stated. He would not bend on this.

Thinking about writing a Role Swap! Yunming Trio au and came up with a few changes. (Note the characters still retain their base personality features eg. Wei Wuxian is still a wackey self-sacrificing genius idiot, just his role and a few details in the story are changed)
Swaps are:
Jiang Yanli gets Jiang Cheng's role (AKA The Lonely Jiang Sect Leader)
Wei Wuxian gets Jiang Yanli's role (AKA The Married Sibling who died too soon)
Jiang Cheng gets Wei Wuxian's role (AKA The Cruel Demonic Cultivator hated by the world)
So the AU actually has its major changes start all the way back at Jiang Yanli's childhood where she actually manages to create a rather strong golden core. This causes Madam Yu to take more control of raising Jiang Yanli because she sees herself more in her, causing Jiang Yanli to have a lot more pressure on her.
Eventually Jiang Cheng is born and is born with a less pressure on him due to his mother focusing on training Jiang Yanli's golden core, allowing him to be a bit more calmer and carefree. After a few years, Jiang Fengmian finds Wei Wuxian on the streets and brings him back to the Jiang Sect.
This causes Madam Yu and Jiang Fengmian to argue for nights, which leads to Wei Wuxian feeling guilty for causing trouble at his new home. Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng (after their promise to always stay together) both insist that it's not his fault.
Wei Wuxian doesn't believe it. He acts like he does though.
Jiang Yanli wishes she could support and care for him more, but Madam Yu's fierce attention on him doesn't allow her much time to do that.
Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian are still best friends and often go out hunt pheasants, often with Wei Wuxian inventing and teaching Jiang Cheng a bit after learning of his slight inferiority complex to Jiang Yanli and how much Madam Yu focuses on her.
However one day, Jiang Cheng gets injured, nothing life threatening, but just injured enough that Wei Wuxian is forced to end their little outing early and drags him back to the Sect. The healers take Jiang Cheng, leaving a pale confused Jiang Yanli, a trembling Wei Wuxian, and a silent Madam Yu.
"Wei Ying."
Wei Wuxian's body tenses and he turns to face Madam Yu.
"Follow me."
She orders him, turning around with not a mother word. Wei Wuxian feels his heart stop for a moment. He nods his head and follows her only to be stopped by a hand gripping on his shoulder. It's Jiang Yanli.
"A-Xian- Wait! Maybe I should come with you–"
Wei Wuxian shakes his head as he gently takes Jiang Yanli's hand of his shoulder with a small smile on his face.
"No need to worry Shijie. Everything will be okay."
Jiang Yanli opens her mouth to protest, but a glimpse from behind Wei Wuxian showed her that Madam Yu was glaring at them both.
"Wei Ying. A-Li. What is it that is so important for you both to ignore me?"
Jiang Yanli froze and when she finally gained control of her body, Wei Wuxian had vanished off to wherever Madam Yu had taken him.
She felt her body freeze and her eyes burn as she saw Wei Wuxian again the next day outside Jiang Cheng's room in the medical bay, his body clearly trembling as she saw the traces of Madam Yu's discipline on him.
"O-Oh hey Shiji—" He stopped. "...Jiang-Guniang! I was just about to check on Jiang-Gongzi!"
"A-Xian..." Her eyes widened. "You know you can just call me Shijie..." Or A-Jie, but Jiang Yanli knew her mother would murder the boy if he ever tried. Now he was uncomfortable calling her Shijie... was he not a disciple of YunmengJiang, couldn't he at least have that?
Jiang Yanli felt discomfort growing in her body as she noticed that Wei Wuxian was bowing slightly to her, like a servant.
His smile melted away, "Its... rather improper for someone like me to do something like that..."
"A-Xian... Did A-Niang–"
The door slammed open. It was Jiang Cheng.
"Jiang-Gongzi, you shouldn't be out of bed, what if you're still injured–"
Wei Wuxian was cut off as Jiang Cheng wrestled him to the ground, hugging him tightly as Wei Wuxian was staring confused.
"You idiot! Didn't we say we were family! What's this Jiang-Gongzi and Jiang-Guniang business!"
Jiang Cheng yelled out as he continued to hug Wei Wuxian tightly. Wei Wuxian blinked before a conflicted look grew on is face.
"Madam Yu simply reminded me of place..."
"Well she's wrong."
Both Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian's eyes went wide and Jiang Yanli wondered who said that until she realised it was herself. She tightened her fists.
"A-Niang was wrong. You're my brother and she can't stop that." She kneeled down to the floor beside the others and hugged him both tightly. "You're both my brothers. We stay together no matter what. No matter what others say."
Wei Wuxian's eyes became shiny and wet until two thin trails of tears came down his cheeks.
"S-Shijie..."
Jiang Yanli smiled, "A-Xian, remember our promises." She turned to Jiang Cheng. "We all promised to protect each other."
Jiang Cheng nodded, "And we will." He then turned to Wei Wuxian, "So you better not be stupid and get injured because you feel guilty!"
"You're the one who's injured!"
"And?"
"You–"
As the two boys started to playfully argue, Jiang Yanli smiled. This was her home. This was her family.
...
Years later, Lotus Pier would burnt down and later on she would be forced to watch Jiang Cheng cradling the bleeding body of Wei Wuxian as Jiang Cheng's army of corpses fought against the disciples of the other Great Sects.

It really isn’t fair how rarely Meng Yao shows up in Yiling Wei Sect AUs.
You look at that brilliant man with his murder dimples and his love of event planning and tell me he wouldn’t absolutely thrive as The Yiling Patriarch’s Gay Assistant.
Also not for nothing but nobody in history has ever needed a PR manager more than the Yiling Wei Sect as a whole

OP how dare you keep this in tags, everything about this AU is PERFECT
Yes yes Yiling Wei Sect teaching safe and controlled demonic cultivation is very sexy but I think too many people overlook that Wei Wuxian is first and foremost an inventor! He is a man of science! Manipulating resentful energy and doing necromancy is only ONE of the many things this man has done or come up with that changed the cultivation world. Yiling Wei Sect AU where the burial mounds are crowded with workshops and laboratories, forges and studios. Little shidis run errands, fetching and carrying crafting materials, and in addition to the older disciples teaching cultivation there are also classes held for mundane trades and crafts, to be combined and reworked in new and incredible ways. Talismans, enchanted objects, spiritual tools and weapons, useful gadgets. Workrooms full of long, low tables where disciples work shoulder-to-shoulder on their newest inventions, shouting ideas and suggestions from one end of the room to the other. Swords are still traditional, but the Wei Sect is always inviting guest instructors to teach other forms of weaponry, and it’s not unusual for a student’s actual preferred weapon to be something other than a sword. Classes are chaos, students are encouraged to argue and debate, and no topic is ever considered “mastered” even by the teachers – there is always more to learn, to explore, to invent or re-invent. We teach all that is known, but not all that IS. Respect the old ways, but don’t be mindlessly obedient to them. Yiling being the fantasy equivalent of the most technologically advanced city in the world. Not all the things the Wei sect come up with are strictly for cultivation, after all. There are talisman-powered looms and plows that pull themselves and little crystal charms that store spiritual energy so that even non-cultivators can activate the flameless lanterns that light the town and the moving platform that will carry them up the mountain path, if they have right or reason to go visit the burial mounds. What I’m saying is that they’re all nerds. They’re all nerds, is what I’m saying.

YilingWei Sect AU: Sect Heir + a few changes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Click here for the YilingWei Sect Masterlist
___________________
Our very own Sect Heir! Wei Yuan, Courtesy name Sizhui (brought to you by someone who still yearns a certain man). The adopted son of Wei Wuxian and heir to the sect.
Born and practically raised by a man-child, Wei Yuan is nothing short of a mischievious child much like his father. The only difference is he has more restraint, and more often than not is subtle in his mischief.
He’s strong-willed and diligent, a very caring shixiong towards his fellow disciples and much to everyone’s surprise: He’s the laid back shixiong while Mxy’s the strict one.
Wei Yuan is adept in medical cultivation being taught by his aunt/the head physician. He’s also talented with a bow, being inspired by Wen Ning’s story about how Wwx was the best archerer in their generation.
In the Wei sect it is encourages that disciples wield at least 2 weapons with ease, since circumstances can never be predicted. Mo Xuanyu has a sword but his fan is his main weapon, Xue Yang has twin daggers and Xiao Qing is adept with a spear. On the other hand disciples like Wei Yuan choose instruments as a secondary weapon.
Although he’s not as talented in talismanry and array study like Mxy he’s the best swordsman among his peers. He knows how to play the guqin but only slightly, the only lessons he ever got was from this certain man a long time ago…
__________________
CHANGES:
I think the most visible change is the sect emblem here. Before, it was an intricate dreamcatcher-like design of the Stygian Tiger Seal because it was the only thing I could think of back then. Now the emblem is a Black Bamboo Stalk with red outlines and black smoke in the background.
There’s a small detail in my AU to explain this, the bamboo is the sect’s foundation for many things: they make houses with it, instruments, paper, sigils, harvested for food and so on. It was the only resource they had in the BM and without it they wouldn’t have survived.
The black smoke on the other hand represents Wei Wuxian and his cultivation, which kept Yiling safe from outside dangers, obviously the sect wouldn’t have formed without it.
And since the emblem changed I figured the pattern on their robes should as well. It’s different for each disciple but one thing remains consistent: the repeated circular pattern on the edge and the black smoke. WY’s and MXY’s robes have bamboo patterns, showing that they represent the sect right after WWX, and additionally, WY has a blossom patterned fabric wrapped around his skirt to represent his small family of Wen healers.

TRANSMIGRATOR LAN ZHAN YAP SESH‼️ (I say as the main victim of all your yap seshs)
Thank you slug for letting me yap even after I've subjected you to this au a thousand times
Kind of a svsss au with transmigrator Lan zhan ↓
Lan Wangji whose absolute fav character ever is Wei wuxian. He's read about him since wwx was a poor homeless child to when he was adopted by the Jiangs to when he became the cultivation world's hero. He HATES how this sweet, selfless, friendly character gets put through one terrible situation after another.
His room is fucking full of wwx merch. Oh he's not popular enough? He's gonna have a body pillow custom made with Wei Ying on it. He has an office job where people are terrified of him and then he goes home and holds his Wei wuxian plush for hours.
Then the final chapter of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is posted and wei wuxian GETS KILLED. All the major sects worked together to launch an attack on the burial mounds. All he ever did was want to protect the wens!!!!
Lan Wangji is so fucking mad he dies. And he wakes up in the body of Lan zhan aka hanguang jun, his most hated character.
Hanguang jun is an uptight morally self righteous bastard who was offered Wei Yings friendship time and time again but rejected it! Wei Ying would call him by his birth name and instead of seeing it as affectionate, hanguang jun would get angry at Wei Ying for being informal. Not only did he constantly get Wei Ying into trouble for harmless (loveable and boyishly endearing) pranks, he also publicly criticized him for his demonic cultivation, not knowing Wei wuxian had no choice since he gave up his core.
He wakes up to xichen asking if he's alright and immediately goes "WHERE IS WEI YING"
Xichen: uh... Wei wuxian? I didn't know you two were that close
Lan zhan: I have to see him immediately
Xichen is concerned (his brother had a qi deviation) but when Lan zhan is still insistent on it for days, he says he's welcome to accompany him to the Jiangs gathering.
Xichen: but I thought you hated large parties
Lan zhan: I'll go if Wei Ying is there.
Xichen: ....🏳️‍🌈❓️
They arrive and Lan zhan can barely breathe when he sees how gorgeous Wei wuxian is. He's in his yiling laozhu outfit, so this is post war but he hasn't gotten in a fight yet so it's pre saving the Wen clan. Lan zhan steps closer and calls his name and wei Ying sneers
Wei ying: Lan zhan- hanguang jun. I thought you hated me too much to even look at me
Lan zhan: I don't. Please call me Lan zhan like you used to.
Jiang cheng: *raises an eyebrow*
Wei Ying faltering: uh. Haha what's gotten into you-
Lan zhan stepping forward and grabbing wei Ying by the waist: come back to gusu, Wei Ying. I need you.
Wei wuxian's face is bright red and he's speechless. Jiang cheng thinks hes hallucinating. Xichen is going ah so it is 🏳️‍🌈 indeed. Everyone else at the party is staring because there's no way this is happening. Nie huaisang is choking on his tea because he's the authour and that's definitely another transmigrator.

Okay okay so, the symbol of Yiling Wei Sect. I realized what it should be.
So like, with the Wen Remnants and the Yiling Laozu; the Qishan Wen had the sun with flames as their symbol, Wei Wuxian wears black and red with flames: the Yiling Wei Sect should have a solar exclipse as their symbol.
Partially to represent the remaining Wens, partially to symbolize that Wei Wuxian's darkness overtook the sun (the Qishan Wens) during the war.
It just feels right. It has the sun and flame symbology I like while also keeping the dark aesthetic needed.
