something that just ... does it for me is that flip-switch moment when you're with someone new. like, i've been pulling out my tricks, maybe i'm not even doing it on purpose but i've been letting my fingers circle around my drink, they've been looking at my rings... maybe i'm making eyes at them, maybe i'm moving my hips just so. we're sitting just a bit too close, their legs leaning against mine just a little too heavy. we both know it's there, it's too electric for us to not both be feeling it... but that's not where we are yet.

so we keep a polite distance, though we're both growing warmer inside. some kind of plausible deniability; we're not making a move yet, maybe we're savouring the unspoken chemistry, maybe we're both nervous. maybe we're friends first and don't want to fuck up a good thing. maybe this isn't a date, or wasn't supposed to be.

but then something happens that breaks the spell. i stumble into their arms; the elevator is too small; we have to crowd into a smaller, tighter table. i spill my drink and draw attention to my chest. or they work up the nerve to touch my thigh, or i just look at them in a way that gets them, and then we both feel that moment where there's no going back. our lips are on each other, our hands, they've backed me up into a wall, they've got their hands up my skirt. they ask for permission each time they go a bit further. they're gentle, they're sweet, but they already know the answer. they already know i'm for their taking. the politeness was not fake, but cautious; a pretext for something deeper, more pleasurable, something we both will be having flashbacks to for months.
