y'all ever think abt how it was julie having the affair and it is even said multiple times that she was the one who left him, yet wilson was still the one who left their home and moved in with house. like. he couldn't bear to stay in their home alone. he immediately ran to house and stayed on his couch for weeks. suffered through his pranks and his laziness and his manipulation. telling him he wants him gone while sabotaging his attempts to leave. and he only left once he got a girlfriend again.
#chyanne speaks#house md#hilson#hate crimes md#gregory house#james wilson#i think his inability to be alone is such an interesting quality of his that isnt touched on enough#like yes we all haha at his long string of unsuccessful relationships but we dont talk abt it all stemming from his inability to be alone#his first wife leaves him and then he remarried quickly#he cheats on the second wife and remarries quickly#the third wife cheats on him and leaves him and he immediately moves in with house#and then starts dating a patient and immediately moves in with her#but!!! then he moves into the hotel and is alone for like almost a year! and honestly he NEEDED IT#bc GROWTH happened in that year and he meets someone who doesn't fit his M.O. who breaks away from the mold#although he does immediately move in with her too but still. amber was different. she was the step in the right direction#and then she dies.#and then wilson throws himself into the left field. everything needs to change. he's spent so long fearing being alone.#so he tries to leave so he is completely and totally alone without house to fall back on#but house needs him. he needs him too much. they need each other too much.#and he falls back to house again. and he's content that way. he's always the most content when he's with house. always feels the least alone#and then sam comes back into his life and ruins e v e r y t h i n g#he falls right back onto those old patterns. kicks house out and moves her in. and then what happens??? of course??? she leaves him. again.#and then he's alone again and it hurts. he gets a cat that we only hear about twice and then never gets brought up again#but wilson has his kitty. he has house. he's not alone. he can be content.#and then house fucks everything up. he goes to prison. wilson is alone again.#im honestly SHOCKED that wilson didnt remarry in that year they were apart but he was rly trying to change!#he was working on himself and trying to make changed he thought would be good for him#and then house comes back. and house won't LET wilson be alone. he wont leave him alone.#and it's exactly what wilson has been yearning for since the day he drove that car into cuddys house#and in the end. as long as he had house that was all that mattered. as long as he had house he wasn't alone.

HIII can i request a confession scenario for chilchuck… something where a normally bubbly flirty reader avoids him for a bit after leaving the dungeon - he finds out it’s because they love him, but don’t want to get between him and his wife (who he doesn’t actually want to remarry!)
- bard anon
— FROM THE START: chilchuck x reader
ᥫ cw: alcohol ᥫ wc: 1983 ★ OH I LOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCH! tysm for requesting bard anon hehehe this is my first ever request actually ˚‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥᷄⌓˂̣̣̥᷅ )‧º·˚ im sorry it took so long to finish! cross posted on ao3
— CHILCHUCK KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING FROM THE START.
[♡]: there was always something up with you, something he could always notice but couldn’t really tell what. was it your bubbly personality completely contrasted his stoic one? was it how easily you were able to befriend him despite his caution? was it the way you’d look at him by the firelight during sleepless nights in the dungeon? chilchuck really couldn’t tell, but there was something about you he noticed. like it was always on the corner of his eye. and tonight whatever it was had left his peripheral.
THEY SAY SILENCE SPEAKS A THOUSAND WORDS, the same thousand Chilchuck sees running through your head as you sit across him at the bar. It was a small get together of old friends, a way of catching up after your time together in the dungeon, and really, at first things were normal. You were your usual sunshiny self, an easy smile on your face and a flirtatious quip ready to leave your lips. But things felt off — well, off for Chilchuck. There was some restraint when you spoke, when you smiled. He sensed it, picked it up immediately as soon as he entered the bar. From the doorway he saw it, just a glimpse of your smile, a fraction of your laugh amidst the noise of the pub. But then your eyes locked with his and shakily and subtly, there was tension on your face, a twitch in your muscles when you turned at him to give him a small wave before turning your attention back to Senshi. When the half-foot had taken his seat in front of you, he could tell you were completely avoiding him as much as you could, only ever giving passing remarks when he addressed you directly, other than that, you didn’t initiate anything. It was far from your usual, when you would’ve quickly attached yourself to Chilchuck’s side, never leaving it until the end of the night, not even when he had walked you all the way back to your home.
There was a certain caution around you, like there was fog that surrounded you and made you all misty to the eyes. It was like you were the setting sun, halfway dipped into the horizon, close and bright enough to see, but far too distant to touch. Above anything else, it pissed Chilchuck off.
It felt so foreign, so strange. He hated not knowing what was going on. On one hand, you seemed fine, chatting away with Marcille and giggling about some complaint she’s had about her workload. On the other, he’d catch these fleeting, stolen glances from you, and each time, he could see a spec of something that wasn’t usually there; sadness. It was evident with the way you toyed with your drink, swirling the content around the tankard whenever you found yourself out of the conversation, it was evident with the way you consistently ran your hand through your hair, pushing the tresses away from your forehead, it was evident in the way you simply wouldn’t look at Chilchuck.
It really did frustrate him. Here Chilchuck thought he was getting a nice evening surrounded by good friends and good ale, a nice simple get-together to distract him from the quickly piling work he found handed to him. And while he’d never admit it (perhaps not even to himself), he was looking forward to you, even in the dungeon, he had looked forward to you. Chilchuck probably didn’t even realize how close you two have gotten, and how much he began to miss your company. In the dungeon, you’d stay up with him during his watch, even just a bit, to give him some company or lend an ear to his endless complaints and worries. In the dungeon, you’d walk next to him, purposefully bumping your hip against him and acting as if nothing happened, pestering him with questions on his personal life (really, sometimes you were no better than Marcille!). In the dungeon, he always had the assurance of your company and friendship, after all, there were only so many people in the party, most of which he couldn’t really form strong bonds with.
But you were different, you always were.
You had that air of ease to you, one that Chilchuck saw the moment you had joined Laios’ party. As much as you liked to prod at the limits of Chilchuck’s patience, you were never pushy too, you valued your privacy and respected his. You always backed off before things got out of hand, and when they did you were always first to come and apologize or make amends. You were dependable, smart and resourceful, above all, you were a good person. You had almost radiated your own brand of sunlight. It made all the passing flirty remarks all bearable. It happened too often, too much for someone Chilchuck’s age too. Though it wasn’t necessarily that you had solely targeted Chilchuck with your antics — you had come around to tease Marcille or to flirt with Laios from time to time, but Chilchuck had definitely become your favorite victim. Hell, if Chilchuck closes his eyes right now, his memory could perfectly replay that stupid wink you’d give him when you’d allow your touch to linger a bit longer or when you’d flash him a smirk after flirting with him.
Though now, it was as if Chilchuck was left with only those memories of a bubbly adventurer, because looking at you now, you seem miserable. And Chilchuck could tell he might’ve been the only person to pick up on it (well, mostly because he guesses it all might be directly only to him). He needs to talk to you because as frustrating as it is to be ignored and not know why, he’s more worried about you than anything. He was always worried about you, whether he himself realized it or not was a different story.
Throughout the night, Chilchuck tried his best to get your attention. He quickly learned small talk didn’t work, you were quick to give him a dismissive comment or a half-hearted response, whereas you’d normally tease him for taking the initiative to talk to you (something like “aw, Chilchuck, are you really that curious about me? Or are you looking for an excuse to hear my voice?” he’s sure).
Next he tried offering you something to drink, grabbing a new bottle of liquor and making a big show of opening it and kindly offering it to you. But again, you were quick to dismiss him, saying you preferred mead over wine, whereas you’d normally find a way to flirt with him before dramatically taking a sip (something like looking at him in the eye while you wiped away the sticky residue of alcohol from the corners of your lips with your thumb he supposed).
Then Chilchuck quickly realized he was out of ideas. When you’d go and reply to the others, he’d quickly try to chime in, hoping to catch you off guard and get a normal response from you. But really you didn’t pay him much attention at all. (Though normally you’d be giggling at his antics, commenting about he “seems so desperate for your attention” or something like that.)
Despite it all, Chilchuck refused to be dissuaded as much as he was getting more and more frustrated by your lack of interest and his failure at prying at your disinterest. If only he could be a bit more like you, a bit more easy going and bubbly, maybe he could have an easier time dealing with all this.
Chilchuck sighs and frowns before taking a swig of his ale. He's just about to look down dejectedly at his tankard, heavily considering that if he can't enjoy some good company tonight, he at least won't let the ale go to waste, when he feels a tug on his sleeve. With furrowed brows he turns behind him, but his face quickly relaxes when he realizes it's you.
He opens his mouth to speak, but you cut him off. "Can I tell you something?" Your voice is soft, maybe even a bit shaky. It was as if you were scared he might reject you.
But Chilchuck sets that thought aside because if anything, he's relieved. At least now you were talking to him, and really what's the worst you can say. He was your friend, whatever it was you had to tell him, he wasn't going to shame you for it.
So he nods, lets you lead him outside of the tavern into the cold, dark night. The wind instantly bites at his skin, causing the half-foot to shiver, but the sight of you before him makes him feel even colder. Your gaze is so solemn, almost melancholic the way your face feels so devoid of your usual energy. It makes Chilchuck's mouth dry.
"What'd you wanna tell me?" He asks, crossing his arms. He keeps his tone level, trying his best to mask how nervous he's beginning to feel.
You only stare at him for a bit more, then you look away, turning to the dimly lit town around you.
He hears you sigh, then he hears you open your mouth then shut it, then open and shut it again.
Cautiously, he takes a step forward. "You okay? You're…" he hesitates a bit. "You're quieter than usual…"
He watches the muscles of your back tense up at the mention of your silence. You pull your shoulders together, like you were trying to squeeze yourself smaller.
"It's… I-" You start, softly. "Chilchuck, I'm sorry."
The half-foot blinks. "For what—"
"I-I know you've got your own life— Like, personal life and all. I don't want to impose on that." You say, somewhat shakily. "You have daughters and… and a wife, and all. I- You know… I can't just—" your hands splay out in front of you "—ruin that."
"Ruin…? I'm sorry? I don't follow—"
"I like you, Chilchuck. I-I like you a lot…" You confess, turning to him with your eyes squeezed shut and your cheeks tinted red.
Chilchuck looks at you, stunned. Pieces of the puzzle slowly began falling into place. Before he could speak, you're rambling.
"A-and I know it's wrong to! You've got a wife and kids and all… And I know your relationship with them might not be the best right now— N-not to act as if I know so much! R-really, what do I know? —But the point still stands! I didn't want to tell you to make things awkward— I'm sure they're awkward now… —B-but Marcille said— Well, she said a lot of things, really. I-I… Well, honestly I didn't listen much—"
His hands grip your shoulders, pulling you out of your thoughts. "Hey, hey. Easy." Chilchuck says with a small smile and it instantly shuts you up. "You like me?"
Your mouth hangs slightly agape, the beginning of a stutter leaves your lips before you promptly shut it. You nod and avert your gaze from him, finding your face feel a bit hotter.
"You like me." Chilchuck repeats, the half end of it melting into a small laugh. "You like me!"
"Okay, you don't have to keep saying it."
Chilchuck laughs again, a bit louder now. He leans his head against you and a relieved sigh leaves his lips. "Thought you were mad at me." He admits.
"Mad at you…? A-Are you not mad at me?"
"Mad at you? Why would I be—"
"Your wife—"
"And I aren't getting back together." He looks up at you with an easy smile, smoothing his thumbs over your arms. "You've got nothing to worry about."
You pout when you finally meet his eyes. “But…”
He chuckles. Chilchuck is beyond relieved, if anything he’s fucking thrilled. He thought something terrible had happened to you, like maybe he had done something to upset you or something. That must’ve been it, that something he had sensed from you the moment you began trying to befriend him, that twinkle of curiosity and admiration, that tinge of love.
“H-hey! Quit laughing, will you? It-It isn’t funny!” You scold as Chilchuck lifts his head to meet your reddened face. That loving glint in your eyes is back, come out from hiding behind the tearful mist of anxiety; it makes him laugh again, laugh louder. You yell out another complaint with a pout.
If Chilchuck had been your favorite, then you were certainly his.

Morpheus Endless has never had much expectations from his life: he is a third child, so he has always known he'd never ascend his father's throne. Besides, he's an omega, which makes him merely a commodity. He has never been fond of his life at home, his parents ignoring him and his siblings too lost in their own misery and shenanigans, but he was cautious of his prospects, for he has always realized how much he'd be dependent on his future spouse. For once, gods seem to smile at him because Morpheus gets suddenly betrothed to King Robert Gadling, ruler of the neighboring lands. Robert has a reputation as a fair king, although Morpheus finds it very alarming and disappointing that he keeps slaves and that slavery is a norm in his kingdom in general. Still, everyone knows that Robert treated his wife Eleanor with respect despite the fact that she was an omega, and this gives Morpheus hope. What Morpheus doesn't know is that his future alpha has no desire to get married again. He simply has to. His beloved queen died as a result of ectopic pregnancy, and he still needs an heir. And better an heir and a spare. Robert agrees to the union with the Endless dynasty: in fact, that's an incredibly fortunate deal for his kingdom because his neighbors are way more powerful and rich. But for him, it's nothing but a business agreement. That's why Robert is taken aback when he finally meets his fiancé at the wedding: Prince Morpheus is ethereally beautiful. Robert falls in love at first sight and hates himself for it because it feels like he's betraying the memory of Eleanor. He's perfectly polite to his new husband, albeit cold and neglectful, and Morpheus can't figure out what he has done to displease his alpha: he is well aware of many faults of his character, but he really tried to be on his best behavior, and besides, they barely interacted at all. Robert gets drunk at the wedding. Morpheus waits for him till dawn, but he doesn't come to consummate the marriage. He continues to ignore Morpheus' existence till his omega goes into heat, and that's when Robert can no longer deny the pull and longing. And he does need an heir. Morpheus' heat is everything they both ever wanted, days and nights spent in tender lovemaking, and Morpheus dares to hope that from now on, it is going to be different...but once his heat has run its course, he wakes up alone and heartbroken. Shortly after, they find out that Morpheus is pregnant. Robert is excited and torn apart between his feelings for his mate and his love for the memory of Eleanor. He doesn't know what to do, so he does nothing. He only realizes what a fool he has been when Morpheus goes into labor, and it turns out that the baby is not well positioned. Morpheus spends two days in labor, and there are serious fears that neither he nor the baby would make it. Morpheus is barely alive by the end of the ordeal, but he miraculously gives birth to a healthy baby boy - Robyn. He himself is seriously ill, though, and in fever. Robert never leaves his side and prays to every god that his mate will survive so they can have a second chance. He is ready to do anything to make Morpheus happy, from abolishing slavery that his mate resents so much to pandering to his every whim.
OOO this is such a great outline for a story!! You can definitely see both perspectives here. Hob didn't want to remarry, he's traumatised, he feels so many things and everything is moving so quickly. Meanwhile Morpheus is in a completely new place with new people, knowing that he has a duty to fulfil, trying his best... only to find that nothing he does is enough for his new husband.
Morpheus even understands that his pregnancy must be a huge trigger for Hob, so he does his best not to mention it at all. He even hides the bump under draping clothes so his husband won't be reminded of his condition. Hob wavers between spending time with Morpheus and ignoring him for days. He forgets that Morpheus is going through this for the first time, essentially alone.
The traumatic labour does at least snap Hob out of his selfishness. He refuses to leave Morpheus even during the worst, when they think the omega might die. After Robyn is born, Hob takes care of him personally, feeding him and holding him as much as possible, and spending the rest of his time at Morpheus’s bedside. He doesn't deserve his omega, he's well aware of that - but Morpheus deserves to live! And Hob wants a chance to love him, at the very least. He wants Morpheus so much he can hardly breathe. He'd thought it was silly that his omega cared so much about slavery - it's just what Hob’s kingdom has always done. But now Hob would give anything to talk to be Morpheus about it. To be guided by his mate's principles. They could build a better realm together.
When Morpheus wakes up, he's surprised to see his mate beside him, with their newborn baby snuggled up in the crook of his arm. Morpheus hardly recognises Hob. He looks tired and soft and his eyes are full of tenderness. Morpheus wearily asks for water and Hob personally helps him to drink, slow and careful.
Morpheus is sort of expecting a grovelling apology that he'll have to listen to and then he'll have to be the bigger person, to give Hob the balm of forgiveness... but that doesn't happen. Hob just. Does stuff. Instead of making promises. He nurses Morpheus through his recovery, and supports him as he starts to care for Robyn more each day. He brings matters of state and ideas to Morpheus’s attention and asks for his opinions. He sleeps beside Morpheus each night (not in the same bed, but in the same room) until he's finally invited to join his omega. He doesn't even mention sex until Morpheus brings it up. And it's only much later that Morpheus finds out that slavery was outlawed while he was sick.
It doesn't mean that Hob didn't make mistakes. But it does mean that he won't be repeating them. And that Morpheus can finally learn to trust him. He's happy to invite Hob to share his first heat after giving birth. There's no alpha he'd rather have.
And Eleanor's spirit is finally smiling down on them, instead of repeatedly smacking Hob around the head for his behaviour <33

jdjhdhdhdh I have a LOT of questions!! first regarding your ocs, I would love to see their backstory, even if a little bit, cuz they're interesting as hell. I'm rotating your ocs in my brain unfortunately. whats the exact relation between like juhi and the dead bro cuz, you wrote there that she was a spare, but she's now ascended ?? is this something sort of outer family inner family stuff ??? ALSO if it it'll be soooo good to see them have a slight tension because of it!! ik theyre just ocs but I can't help but think of them in a story, so I'm looking for more crumbs about them to finally make sense about how everything works!!
Aw gosh thank you for being interested?!?! Gosh I’m so happy you like them 🥹 I can certainly add some backstory!
Setting: The Lotus Kingdom 🪷
A quaint undersea kingdom somewhere out in the Indian Ocean. Its main population are a peace loving merfolk. Minor populations of subspecies live here as well, all cohesively building a unique interconnected culture in the Lotus Kingdom. Despite this, there are some that work in the shadows to topple the kingdom in any way possible to create a new monarchy.
Princess Juhi
A spare by every sense of the word. The Lotus Kingdom prides itself on its sons, and the previous king was no different. What luck would smile on him for his firstborn to be a son, although it was soon discovered that like his mother, the prince had a weak constitution. In the hopes of having another healthy son, the king unfortunately was only able to sire a daughter before his wife died. Refusing to remarry, the king decided to focus all his efforts on healing and raising his son to become a perfect monarch of the Lotus Kingdom while Juhi was left forgotten to the seclusions of the outer palace.
In their youth, the weak prince would often explore and find himself in the outer palace where he’d discover his younger sister. In these precious moments of youth, it was Juhi’s only true connection to another and so she cherished every play date despite it lasting only a few encounters.
The prince quickly grew stronger and visits grew shorter as he had to take on more responsibility, thus leaving Juhi back all alone in the outer palace for the years that carried on.
With the death of the prince, and Juhi’s ascension to inherit, it thrusts all sorts of court politics into the mix. There are many against the princess’s right to rule, there are some who wish to puppet her, then there are some who are overjoyed at the prospect of change. The key element is that almost everyone underestimates her potential, including herself 😔 but my oh my this young princess has much to offer the world.

The Remarried Empress with a male Shouto Todoroki!Reader who's the Emperor of a faraway land who comes to visit after hearing rumors of the Eastern Empire's ruler and mistress. He finds himself enraptured with Navier and tries to figure out what he's feeling because he's socially inept. When he sees she's happy with Heinrey, he's confused as to why he feels so sad but he backs down from his feelings towards her when he finally finds out what love is since he's also happy to be her friend and a pillar of support to her. He's openly disapproving of Sovieshu and Rashta; when he meets Navier's brother, he finds himself becoming enraptured just like with the Empress.
Preface: You are the Emperor of the Northern Empire, and you were invited to the New Year’s Ball being hosted in the Eastern Empire. You, an eligible bachelor, found yourself intrigued by the rumors that had come from some merchants about Emperor Sovieshu’s mistress situation.
Sovieshu
He has heard about you and your Empire as well. From what he has been told, you didn’t have to be married to inherit the throne. No, you were competent and you knew how to lead your land. Thus, he held you in high esteem. Plus, he kind of had to otherwise your Empire might wage war with his, and he would be doomed because most of your subjects had powers.
But, the respect didn’t seem to be returned. No, every time he came close to you, he couldn’t get any closer because you would change the temperature of both your body and the room. The last time he approached you, you called him repulsive for doing such a thing to his beautiful wife. This surprised Sovieshu, as no one but you had the audacity to speak to him like that.
Rashta
She has not heard of you until Sovieshu had told her that you would be attending the Ball. She was sure that if she befriended you, it would give her a step up into higher society. So, she refined her manners and etiquette as quickly as she could so that she would make a good impression on you.
Turns out, her efforts were in vain because you gave her an annoyed side-eye whenever she tried to get close to you. She eventually noticed how you were staring at the Empress, and she wasn’t that dumb to not be able to piece everything together. But now she felt helpless because one of the most esteemed and powerful guests present within the ballroom was against her.
Navier
You were invited on Sovieshu’s behalf, but you naturally gravitated towards her more. When you first saw her, you suddenly felt a fluttering feeling within your chest and you had no words to describe it. Your heart told you to comfort her since you could tell that she was hurt at how her husband preferred his mistress rather than her.
However, your heart felt dread once Prince Heinrey asked Navier to dance. You had no idea what you were feeling, and you thought you were having a heart-attack or something. However, it wasn’t until you went back home and consulted your beloved mother that she explained that you felt love and jealousy for the first time.
Heinrey
As stated before, your heart felt a sense of dread as you watched Prince Heinrey dance with the Empress. Of course, you didn’t know what the feeling was, but you knew that for some reason you no longer were interested in talking with him about conditions between the Northern Empire and the Western Kingdom.
Of course, you eventually got over it once you became romantically involved with Kosair, and even offered some help if they needed assistance in transforming the W.K. into the Western Kingdom. The two of you became great friends, actually.
Kosair
You originally had a tiny crush on Navier, but you quickly got over it when you saw Kosair. You literally had to quickly leave because you could feel your body temperature rising quickly. You feared you might actually burst into half flames and half ice. Fortunately, you were able to save yourself from the embarrassment.
When he was exiled from the Eastern Empire, you wrote a letter saying that he could come to the Northern Empire to escape Sovieshu’s rule. To be fair, lying next to each other at night wasn’t exactly a bad idea for the both of you. You eventually became the two Emperors of the Northern Empire, but that’s a story for another time.

hope you're doing well! I'm v excited for the next chapter of cult fic but I am curious: is doug still gonna come after maddie in this? because it feels like no but you might be lulling me into a false sense of security.......
hiiii <3 i am well i hope you are too!!
i hope saying this isn't like letting you down RKVJEJD but doug is not going to come after maddie in scrc. whenever i start an AU wherein the buckleys' backstory is different i'm always like... like i don't want to treat doug trying to kill maddie and her killing him in self defense as something Essential to her character if that makes sense? because while i do think that experience shaped her obviously i don't think it Has to happen for her to Be Maddie yknow. so i'm not just gonna include it unless i think it serves the story and follows logically from where the characters are.
in scrc, doug 1. holds a good bit of power within the church/cult and 2. was only married to maddie for a year before she left. prior to their marriage, they didn't "date" in the traditional sense; most of their time spent together was also spent with maddie's parents or other church members. in the first chapter, i'm pretty vague about their relationship, but there are some hints that doug isn't actually around very much as he's still in medical school. he is abusive when he Is around, but because their relationship was new, i imagine it as less severe than it ended up becoming in canon. in my mind, doug gets the validation and adulation he wants from the church, and he didn't really care about Having Maddie so much as Having A Wife. thus, when maddie leaves, doug ends up getting remarried relatively quickly. i think maybe in this universe he's still very angry with maddie and could be dangerous if they crossed paths, but he isn't going to go out of his way to track her down.
however. i will say that i think in this universe if doug Were going to come after maddie, he would have done it within the first couple of years after she left him, when it was just her and tweenage buck in baltimore. and i do think that could be an interesting thing to explore in a little side-AU off of my AU.... damn you i already have too many WIPs 😭🫶🏻

And last but not least, Vellatra propaganda!
This is Vellatra, my all-time favorite OC and my namesake on a hundred bajillion websites. She is my favorite character and we've been through a lot of cringe together!
She is the result of the forbidden union between Drackio, a fi from the Merfaen tiz Ornaru, and Llevarta , a woman of Silen Fah who was blessed by the fairies. Llevarta went missing and was apparently killed when Vellatra was a baby, so Drackio left their secret house in the woods and went back to the Merfaen, taking her with him. He remarried in a short time, and Vellatra's stepmother told everyone she was her biological mother, to help Drackio keep his secret.
When she grew up, Vellatra married Lucard and had three children. Being a wife and stay-at-home mother was her dream job, and, for a while at least, the five of them had what seemed to be a perfect life. Lucard was the captain of a division in the army, and their son Nabikio went into training to take his father's place when the time came. On his first training day in the field, Lucard was killed and Nabikio was taken prisoner. Heartbroken over Lucard's death and terrified for her son, Vellatra started going on secret sabotage missions against their enemies, the Jelturen, always leaving a message behind for the enemy: "Return my child." The Jelturen did eventually surrender every prisoner they had, but Nabikio was not among them. Vellatra never did figure out where her son was, so she suspects the worst.
While her efforts didn't do anything to get Nabikio back, the Merfaturen did get a significant advantage in the war, and when they eventually found out who was behind these frightening attacks, they made Vellatra the commander-in-chief of the army - a job she didn't want, but reluctantly agreed to. Now she's doing everything she can to end the war - and the suffering - as quickly as possible... and since the country's judges won't let it end with a peace treaty, that's bad news. :[]
Since Vellatra's mother was blessed by the fairies, she and everyone in her line of descent have developed special abilities. Vellatra - like her daughter Aileev - has the power to produce and control fire, similar to a firebender from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Given her role as the leader of the army - and her own private battle she's been waging - this has come in pretty useful.
Her wedding day - in her country, it's a custom to wear green when you're getting married as a symbol of new life :)
Vellatra is a tangled mess of emotions. She may be a fierce and furious warrior, but at the end of the day she's still mourning the loss of her family... and her role within it... and she just wants to be done with all the "war this" and "battle that". Deep down, she feels like she's been a failure as a mother - to Nabikio, of course, for never saving him, but also to her daughters. She thinks she should have been there for them more as they moved from girlhood into womanhood, but wasn't because of her duties to her country. The reader may not always see the story through her eyes - in fact they may not see it through her eyes MOST of the time - but her whole life is a major plot weaving through it. She started out as a bad guy and evolved to be so much more than that.
Vote Vellatra! Pretty please! :D

Under the hearttree - n. stark // ii. chapter
summary: Eddard Stark did not know when he had made friends with the idea of remarrying. Maybe it had been when with each passing month the thought hurt less, maybe it had been when Rickon started to walk and Ned now had six children running around, making him turn grey, or maybe it had been when your name had come up in conversation and he had remembered a tourney he had visited. You had been there.

chapter i // chapter ii // chapter iii.
warnings: canon typical violence (description of execution)
word count: 3.3 k
Over the next few weeks, you developed a routine. Ned usually woke up early, when the sun was beginning to rise and casting its first few rays of light. He tried to slowly leave the bed, his arm slipping from your waist and his body lifting from the bed as he got ready to start the day.
You were always a little irritable at this, mumbling a few words of protest as your sleep addled mind became aware of the sudden loss of warmth.
You sat up in bed, the furs pooled around your hips, and you rubbed the sleep from your still half-closed eyes. “Why must you start the day so early?" You muttered.
He turned to you, his eyes travelling over your bare body, his eyes lingering at the soft curves of your waist.
“The day does not wait for me.” He said, buttoning his tunic.
When he was done, he pressed a short kiss to your lips, a hand at your ribs, thumb stroking the swell of your breast.
You hummed into the kiss, pushing yourself up straighter as you pressed into his touch, enjoying the feeling of his rough hand on your bare skin.
He always pulled back too quickly, a small smile on his lips.
“I will see you later.” He said, his voice low and rough. Promise or warning? A good thing any way.
Then he turned and left, and you watched him go, your eyes still heavy. Laying back down, you tried to fall back asleep, but you rarely managed to, your bed feeling strangely empty without his body next to yours. You lay there for a while longer before forcing yourself out of bed, getting ready for the day.
You got dressed for the day before making your way to the dining hall, to break your fast. At this time of morning Ned was there too after already having fulfilled some of his duties.
"Good morning, my lord." You would sit next to him, a hand soothingly stroking through little Rickon's curls as you passed by him.
Ned would lean a little closer to you as you sat down, pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead. He would pass you a cup of ale, and he would chat with the children while you quietly began eating.
"Where are Robb and Jon?" You asked when you noticed their absence.
“They’re outside with Theon, I expect.” He answered. “Doing something idiotic, no doubt.”
You could not suppress a smile. "I don't doubt they got it from their father."
Ned let out an amused hum. “Watch your tongue, woman.” He muttered, the corners of his mouth turning up into a small smirk. He shot you a pointed look, his grey eyes holding yours as he took a sip from his cup. There was a hint of something in his gaze, something only you would understand.
A memory from the night before.
You smiled softly.
A few minutes later, Jon and Robb burst into the dining hall, laughing loudly, their shirts and faces streaked with dirt. Theon followed behind them a few seconds later, a wide grin on his face.
“There’s the idiots, now.” Ned muttered, but there was no real anger in his voice, more amused affection.
You giggled.
Robb and Jon’s laughter died in their throats, and their smiles faltered a little when they noticed both their father and his wife had witnessed their grand entrance. Theon continued grinning sheepishly. Ned took another sip from his cup, looking at his sons over the rim, his eyes narrowed.
You chuckled quietly at their sheepish expressions. "Boys, come here."
“Yes,” came their two voices in unison.
They came and sat down at the table, both of them avoiding eye contact with their father. Robb’s ears were red, and Jon was keeping his head down.
Your hand found its place on Ned's thigh. "Be nice." You teased him.
He huffed out a little laugh. “I am always nice.” He muttered, his gaze moving back to the boys. “Why are you both covered in filth?”
The boys exchanged a glance before both of them shrugged. “We fell?” Robb muttered, avoiding his father’s eyes.
“Fell?” Ned echoed, “Fell where? Into the horse manure?”
Robb mumbled a few words that were completely unintelligible, and Jon suddenly found the table very interesting.
Ned watched them for a few more seconds before letting out a huff of a sigh, giving in. "Get cleaned up."
They nodded as they scrambled to their feet, and Ned watched them go, their heads still bowed. “They’re both terrible liars.” He mumbled, taking a long drink from his cup.
"I'm sure that has more to do with your steely gaze." You squeezed his thigh.
He hummed and set the cup back down on the table, his hand moving to yours on his thigh, his fingers gently stroking your skin. “They’re both going to give me grey hair.” He muttered, his thumb continuing to brush circles against your skin.
"Don't worry, you already have those." You murmured, making Arya, who sat across from you, laugh.
“Are you saying I look old, darling?” He arched a brow, a slight smirk on his lips, trying to look offended.
"Distinguished." You corrected.
He huffed out a little laugh. “That’s a nicer word for old.” He muttered, but there was no real annoyance in his voice.
Jon and Robb returned now, still sheepish, their hair still damp from being washed. They sat back down, Robb on Ned’s other side and Jon beside Arya.
Ned sat quietly for a few moments, contemplating both boys. Their faces were clean, but they were still obviously avoiding eye contact with their father. He huffed out a little sigh. “Are you both alright?” He asked gruffly, looking between them.
They both nodded quickly. Robb was very preoccupied with the bread he was tearing into pieces. “And you, Theon?” Ned asked, his eyes moving to the young, gloating Greyjoy.
The boy ducked his head.
“Hmm.” He hummed, still scrutinizing them under his gaze. His expression hadn’t changed, but you could see the slight, almost amused look in his eyes.
“Ignore the man. He is just enjoying watching you squirm.” You noted.
“Watch it, darling.” Ned mumbled.
Robb and Jon both let out sighs of relief as their father’s gaze moved to his wife, their shoulders relaxing.
You laughed, leaning into him, as he settled his big hand at your hip.
He let out a quiet laugh, wrapping a loose arm around you, pulling you closer into his side to press a kiss to the top of your head.
The children continued to chat amongst themselves, and Ned quietly sipped his ale, his hand still on your hip, his thumb brushing over the curves of your body.
He finished his drink and stood up, reluctantly taking his hands from you. “I have to get back to work.” He muttered, a slight frown on his face.
“Already?” Arya protested, her voice slightly whining.
Ned chuckled, and he bent down to kiss Arya on the top of the head. “You will survive.” He muttered, turning to look at your, his expression a little more serious.
"We will see you later, my lord." You nodded.
Ned hummed, his eyes holding yours for a few extra seconds. Then he turned and left, striding across the dining hall, leaving his wife and children to their breakfast.
The rest of the day passed quickly, with Ned doing his usual duties.
In the afternoon, though, he had a few extra moments of free time, and he found you watching his sons' training from the balustrade. He came up behind you quietly, leaning his arms on the balustrade on either side of you, effectively trapping you in.
You tilted your head back. "Do you ever make noise when you walk?" You asked, arching an eyebrow at him.
He let out a low laugh. "No, not usually." He replied, his voice rough.
He pulled your body flush against his now, his arms looping around your body, one of his hands coming to rest splayed wide across your abdomen. You melted into him, enjoying his warmth. Even wrapped in a coat and layers of fur you had been a little cold. His hand was warm against your stomach, burning through the layers of clothes.
"Cold, darling?” He mumbled, his voice thick and rough in your ear, low and quiet.
"Not more than usual." You smiled, turning back to watch the boys.
He hummed, watching his sons spar, a hint of pride in his eyes. Jon and Robb had truly found their equal in each other.
You leant back against him, and he held you a little tighter against his chest, his arms encircling you. "He might not have your name, but he sure has your blood." You commented on Jon, your fingers tracing his forearms.
Ned chuckled, and his hand moved a little higher, spreading across your ribs. “Aye, he does.” He said, his voice a quiet rumble against your ear. His hands splayed wide over your body, his fingers gently traced the underside of your breast.
You giggled softly, laying your hand over his. "Ned, you’ll have me. Be patient."
He hummed, his lips against your temple. “I'm not a patient man.” He mumbled against your hair.
You turned in his arms, smiling up at him. "Oh, you're the most patient man I know, Ned." You stroked a strand of hair out of his face.
He caught your hand in his, his eyes holding yours. “Not where you’re concerned.” He murmured, his voice low and rough. He intertwined your fingers, and brought your joined hands to his lips, pressing a kiss against your knuckles.
"Especially where I'm concerned." You stated insistent. “You held me for weeks - happy to just hold me. Any other man would have sooner grown tired of my cold feet pressing against him in the middle of the night.”
He let out a low laugh at your words, shaking his head gently. “As if I could ever grow tired of you.” His eyes scanned your face. “Cold feet, tears in the night, complaining about me being up too early in the morning-”
He chuckled as you swatted half-heartedly at his arm, and moved his hand under your chin, tugging gently so you were looking up at him. “I could never tire of these things.” He mumbled, leaning down to brush another kiss against your lips.
"I love you."
He hummed, pulling you a little closer, his arms wrapping around you tightly. “I love you.” He mumbled against your hair. “Gods, I love you.”
"Lord Stark." Ser Rodrik's voice came from behind the both of you; you turned to him. "My lady." He nodded to you. "A guardsman just rode in from the hills. They've captured a deserter from the Night's Watch."
Ned's arms loosen around you, his hand coming to rest casually on your hip. He let out a sigh. “Get the lads to saddle their horses.” He ordered.
"Do you have to?" You asked, looking up at him.
He looked down at you, his grey eyes holding yours. “He swore an oath, love.” He said quietly, his hand lifting to gently brush your hair behind your ear, before turning to Ser Rodrik. "Tell Bran he's coming too."
"Ned, he's ten." You protested. "He's too young."
He looked back down at you. “He won’t be a boy forever,” he replied, his voice quiet but stern. “And winter is coming.”
"Then I will come too." You stated.
He let out a huff of a sigh. “You will stay here.” He said, pulling you a little closer. “I will not have you watch a man be executed.” He added, his voice low and rough.
“Ned.”
He gently gripped your chin, making you look up at him, his expression firm. “No.” He said simply.
You turned to the master-at-arms. "Saddle a horse for me too."
Ser Rodrik exchanged a glance with Ned, caught between obeying his lord’s command, and his lady’s.
Ned let out a huff, his eyes narrowing on his wife. “You will stay here.” He repeated.
"You will not patronize me, my lord."
His hands tightened around your hips. “Woman,” He grumbled. “It wasn’t a request.”
"No, I know. It was an order. But I am not one of your men; I am your wife." You squeezed his hand. "Ned..." Your voice softened.
“Gods be good,” He muttered under his breath, his jaw clenching. He was losing this battle, and he knew it. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, his breath huffing out in a sigh. “You will ride at my side, and you will do as I tell you.” He said finally, opening his eyes to look down at you.
You smiled triumphantly; your eyes were gleaming. “Agreed.” You lifted up onto your tiptoes to press a kiss to his jawline.
He hummed, his eyes watching you, slightly annoyed at how easily you had won. His thumb stroked idly over your hip.
“Ser Rodrik,” he said, not taking his gaze off you, “saddle a horse for my wife.”
The older knight nodded. “Yes, my lord.”
He departed, going to saddle horses for the small group. Ned’s gaze turned back to you now, studying your expression.
“I don’t like you having to see this.” He mumbled, his hands moving to cup the sides of your jaw, gently forcing you to keep eye contact with him.
"Ned, it is not the first execution I see."
“I know,” He mumbled, his thumb gently tracing the line of your jaw. “But gods, I don’t like you having to see me execute a man.” He said in a quieter voice, his grey eyes searching yours.
You caught his hand, pressing your lips to his palm not breaking eye contact. "'The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword.' My father lives by that rule, as did my first husband, Ned. It will be okay."
He swallowed, a mixture of emotions in his grey eyes as he studied you before he let out a sigh. "Let's get to the horses."
You walked across the yard together to where the horses were saddled for you. Ned’s men and his sons were already preparing to leave. Ned mounted his horse, as did you yours – almost effortlessly despite the multiple layers of your skirt.
He gave you a look; if there could only be one thing, he truly found to be attractive about you, it was your lack of fragility. With him you knew you didn’t have to act like a delicate little lady but were as wild and free as a northern woman should be.
Robb and Jon both mounted their horses, and Bran was helped up by Theon. The group set off soon after, Ned and you in the lead, the group of men and boys behind.
Ned watched you as you rode at his side, looking completely comfortable in the saddle, your back straight and shoulders square.
You glanced sideways, noticing his glances towards you, a smirk pulling on your lips, before turning your attention back to the front.
His eyes continued staring at you silently for a few more seconds, before he looked back towards the path ahead. The group continued the way, a heavy silence upon the group, only broken occasionally by the sounds of the horses’ hooves against the ground.
Finally, after riding for quite some time, you approached a group of the Night's watch, one of them the deserter they had captured. Ned dismounted his horse, landing on the ground with ease. He helped you from your horse, lowering you down to the ground.
You went to stand besides Bran, Jon standing on the boy’s other side.
A pair of Stark guards brought the man towards the center of the area, before Ned. "I know I broke my oath. And I know I’m a deserter. I should have gone back to the Wall and warned them, but.... I saw what I saw. I saw the White Walkers. People need to know. If you can get word to my family.... tell them I’m no coward. Tell them I’m sorry." He rambled.
Ned regarded the man for a few moments, his face and expression stoic, before he nodded to his men. They put him down on the execution block as Ned retrieved Ice from its scabbard. His facial expression was defined by a sense of duty.
Beside you heard Jon tell Bran to not look away from the execution.
"In the name of Robert of the House Baratheon, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm, I, Eddard of the House Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, sentence you to die." With that Ned swung the sword and beheaded the man.
You stayed rigid as you felt Bran wince next to you - but he did not look away. "You did well." You told the boy.
As Jon turned away, reassuring his half-brother with a squeeze of the shoulder, Ned handed the ancestral sword of his house to one of the guards, before he came over to Bran. "You understand why I did it?"
Bran looked up at his father, looking a little shaken but stoic, nonetheless. "Jon said he was a deserter.” Bran answered, his voice quiet but clear.
"But do you understand why I had to kill him?" Ned asked again.
Bran frowned as he listened to his father’s voice, his dark eyes studying the man that raised him. After a moment’s silence, he spoke again. "Our way is the old way?"
"The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword." His father nodded.
Bran continued to look up at his father, watching the man’s expression, studying his face. "Is it true he saw the White Walkers?"
Ned’s shoulders straightened slightly at his son’s question. “The White Walkers have been gone for thousands of years.”
“So, he was lying?” Bran asked, his eyes searching his father’s.
"A madman sees what he sees." His father answered finally before letting Bran get back to preparing his saddle.
You ruffled the boy's hair before you followed Ned to your horses.
Ned helped you mount, his hands wrapping around your hips, supporting you as you settled in the saddle, before grabbing the reigns of his horse and getting into the saddle himself. "We should get back to Winterfell." He stated, not meeting your gaze yet.
You leaned over to him, your hand on his biceps. "Will you look at me first?"
He turned to you, his features and expression slightly guarded, a sign of his usually stoicism. His grey eyes met yours, hesitantly scanning your face, searching your gaze.
"Thank you." You smiled.
A huff escaped him, and a small smile flickered across his face, despite himself.
You rode back to the keep, the boys at the back of the riders, speaking quietly amongst themselves. Ned’s eyes moved back across to you now, studying your face as you rode. You had a faint smile on your lips as you trotted along, the cold air making your cheeks rosy.
From the back of the group the boys’ voices drifted to the front.
“I think they'll need a few winters yet.” You noted. “What does Ser Rodrik always say? They're still green behind their ears.”
Ned hummed, he turned in his saddle briefly, his eyes finding Jon, Robb, Theon and Bran as the gate opened for the group, letting you in. “That they are.” He agreed, the hint of a smile on his lips.

(No need to read I just felt like saying but as we all might know I struggle with spelling)
Fun facts about some of my characters
Pixel-the reason why Pixel looks emo because of his hair is because since the fire, Pixel sides don’t grow back the same, it’s uneven and he doesn’t like it and it just makes him more insecure body his body then he already is. Also the reason why Pixel doesn’t like to be come up behind on is because, when he was around 7 he as making something to eat, and Pixel’s mom came up behind him and hit him with a bottle on the neck where is burn is, cause the bottle to break and a scars to form to form a couple weeks later. So he’s scared to eat without permission and when someone comes up behind him, but the plus side is the burn scar covers it up a bit
Oak-the reason why Oak has a small chip on his front tooth is because when he was at his father’s house, his father punched him in the nose hitting his mouth a bit, because he was disgusted because of how Oak was. And his leg scars are from fall off a tree and just laughing it off
Asher- Asher lost his arm when it was his second year in KorTac on a mission, where he got caught under some debris, not even König could lift, so he just looked at some at some of members before looking down and ripping off his own arm, which was hella painful, because the first try it came half off and then the second felt like pure hell
Casper-he is the CEO of a company that Oak’s second mom gave Casper, so Casper is the CEO of a large gun company and that’s where Shadow Company gets most of their weapons, and he’s ✨gay✨
Ash-she may be hella in love with Women, but she’s really respectful to everyone, if a woman doesn’t like her in a romantic way she will HIGHLY respect that, but if another woman likes her, depending on there hight is the type of attention she will give you, if you’re taller then she’ll just hug you a long, if you’re small she’ll hug you tightly and play with your hair and s few head kisses. she’s just a really lovey and happy person, but she single unfortunately but she’s ok with that
Manny-Manny’s old Lover was named Parker. Parker was a bit smaller around 6,6 while Manny is 7 foot, Parker had the same eye color as Buddy so, Manny can’t help but find Kyle irritating but also secretly love him a lot whenever Buddy takes off his sunglasses
Edward-Ed is Pixel’s father, who was in the Air Force and when missing on a mission, there was no crash, no screams, no nothing, Ed was mid sentence when his plane when off the radar and his radio when dead, near to been seen again. And regrets leaving his kids with an alcohol bitch.
Teddy-Teddy is the only character I might have how grow up with an ok childhood, he lived in the country on a farm, and took care of everything, but he left after his father remarried, after his father literally promised his mother on her death bed that he wouldn’t remarry, so Teddy left and the family quickly when to shit because his father was too busy with his new wife to care about the farm, so Teddy sold all farm animals, and sadly his dog and horse because he couldn’t keep them where he lived, so Teddy has a big hateful side to his father

Writing Analysis: East of Eden (Characters)
Cyrus Trask
Cyrus is the stern father of Adam and Charles. His military career is cut short when he was shot in the right leg during the Civil War. His amputated leg is replaced first by a wooden and then by a steel prosthesis. Cyrus, who “was something of a devil,” contracted gonorrhea while in the service and passed it onto his first wife, who kills herself as a result (14). After the death of his wife, he quickly remarries and fathers his second son, Charles. His perceived favoring of Adam causes a violent and lifelong rift between his sons. Cyrus is very proud of his involvement in the military. He peremptorily decides Adam will join the military as he believes his weaker son needs discipline to make him a man. In his spare time, he writes perceptive articles criticizing military strategy. As a result he is offered a paid position with the General Army of the Republic (G.A.R) and travels around the country lobbying and speaking about military issues. After the death of his second wife, he re-locates to Washington D.C. to continue his work with the military. He dies of pneumonia in 1894 and many high-level government officials attend his funeral. He leaves Adam and Charles an inheritance of $100,000. The boys are never sure how Cyrus amassed his fortune though Charles suspects his father had stolen the money.
Adam Trask
Adam was born in 1862 on a Connecticut farm to father, Cyrus and Cyrus’s first wife whose name is never mentioned. His mother commits suicide when Adam is still a baby. He is raised by Cyrus’ second wife Alice. Cyrus views him as weak and less intelligent than his brother Charles, which confirms his decision to force Adam to enlist in the military, a prospect that terrifies Adam. He was a quiet, obedient child who shied away from conflict and violence. He catches on early that his father tends to exaggerate about himself and knows that his father was not a great man (20). During his first five years in the army, Adam develops a deeper aversion to violence and volunteers to work in field hospitals.
After being discharged in 1885, he wanders around Chicago for a few weeks to avoid moving back home with Charles. Not knowing what to do next, he re-enlists in the military. He is discharged again in 1890 in San Francisco. He spends the next three years wandering around the country and eventually serves time in jail for vagrancy. Upon arriving back at the farm, Charles tells him about their inheritance. Adam stays on at the farm with Charles for a few years. After growing restless, he takes off for months at a time traveling around the world, especially when he and Charles would quarrel. Adam is not content to continue living on the farm and talks of moving to California which further irks Charles. When Cathy, after being beaten by Mr. Edwards, arrives on their doorstep, Adam takes her in and cares for her. He proposes before she is completely well and they are soon married. Adam and his new bride relocate to Salinas, California. His intention is to build a new “Eden,” where he can create a lasting legacy for his family.
Unfortunately for Adam, he is completely deceived about the identity if his wife. Once she shoots him and deserts him with her newborn twin sons, Adam falls into a hopeless stupor, leaving his Chinese-American man-servant Lee to raise his children. He does not even name them until Samuel Hamilton forces him to do so when the twins are fifteen months old. It is another 10 years, after a confrontation with his estranged wife, before Adam actually takes an interest in raising his sons. The boys, however, have already been permanently affected by that time. Both long for the acceptance of father and mother and embark on an inner struggle that is exacerbated on the one hand by Cal’s perception of his father’s favoring of Aron and Aron’s embarrassment over his father’s failed business venture. In the end, Adam has repeated the mistake of his own father causing a rift between his two sons. He seems to redeem himself on his deathbed by forgiving and accepting Cal who has suffered his entire life from being estranged from his emotionally aloof father.
Charles Trask
Charles is the son of Cyrus and Alice Trask and half-brother of Adam. Charles is considered stronger, quicker, and smarter than Adam. Adam possesses a secret fear of Charles, who is prone to outbreaks of murderous rage. When Adam is old enough to enlist, Cyrus has a private talk with him about his future in the military. Charles overhears the conversation and becomes envious of his father’s interaction with Adam. His envy, combined with his bitterness over Cyrus’s preference of the birthday gift Adam had given him, enrages Charles. Charles blames Adam for his feelings of rejection and severely beats and then chases after Adam, intending to kill him.
After Adam leaves for the Army and his mother dies, Charles is left alone to run the family farm. He misses his brother and often writes letters to Aron. He becomes lonesome and isolated. In his letters to Adam he writes about looking for a wife but instead only ends up frequenting the local inn, which houses prostitutes. Occasionally, he would move in “one slovenly woman after another” but his interest in the women would quickly wane and he would then move them out (53).
When Adam finally comes home to the farm after their father’s death, Charles is glad to have his brother around but the tension between the brothers never lessened. While the industrious Charles seeks to increase their land holdings and develop the family farm, Adam is restless and dissatisfied with farming. His desire to travel rather than stay in Connecticut agitates Charles and is a subject of their quarrels with each other. When Adam decides to take in Cathy, Charles instantly distrusts her and sees in her a darkness that he recognizes in himself. On Adam and Cathy’s wedding night, Cathy drugs Adam and shows up in Charles’s bedroom and the two have sex. Although never proven, it is hinted that Charles could be the biological father of one or both of Adam’s twin boys. Throughout his adulthood, Charles stayed focused on running the farm and amassed great wealth; however, he never finds love or happiness. Of the Trask property Steinbeck writes, “It was a grim farm and a grim house, unloved and unloving” (63). Upon his death, Charles left behind a $100,000 inheritance, which he willed to be split between Adam and Cathy. A note scribbled to Adam by one of Charles’ lawyers indicated he died having lived a lonely and miserly existence.
Cathy Ames (Kate)
Cathy, one of Steinbeck’s most interesting and controversial characters, is born with what the author describes as “a malformed soul” in a small Massachusetts town (71). From early on, people are both taken and betrayed by her innocent face. She often makes people feel uneasy, though they would not be able to say why. She learns at a young age how to use her sexuality to manipulate people and is a very clever liar. She is the cause of the whipping of two fourteen-year-old boys and the apparent suicide of one of her school teachers. As a teenager, she murders her parents by setting the family’s home on fire while they slept. Though her body was never found, she too is presumed dead.
Eventually Cathy finds her way to Mr. Edwards in Boston for a job as a prostitute. Instead, stricken by her apparent innocence and beauty, he installs her as his mistress. Cathy tortures Edwards, who is obsessed with her, by stroking his jealousy and fears that she might abandon him. He later learns of the house fire and forces her to accompany him on a trip to Connecticut, where he nearly beats her to death. She crawls her way onto the Trask property where Adam finds her and nurses her back to health.
She marries Adam for protection, though she has sex with his brother Charles on her wedding night. Reluctantly she moves to California with Adam where she learns she is pregnant. She later intimates to Adam that Charles impregnated her. After a failed self-induced abortion, Cathy gives birth to twin boys. She endures her pregnancy as a trial and the birth is described as “bitter, deadly combat” (187). Two weeks after the delivery, she packs her bags to leave the ranch. When Adam attempts to stop her, she shoots him in the shoulder.
Cathy then finds her way to Faye’s brothel where she adopts the pseudonym Kate. Like others before her, Faye is fooled by Kate’s innocent face and beauty. She discourages Kate from prostitution and eventually begins to rely on her to run the brothel’s affairs. When Kate learns that Faye has left everything to her in her will, she concocts a subtle and devious plan to murder Faye. Once Faye is dead and Kate has inherited the house, she creates a brothel with a reputation for sexually depraved spectacles. She keeps the prostitutes in her employ cowed and hooked on drugs.
Eventually Kate is visited by Adam and both of her twin sons. The meetings, along with growing paranoia about the evil deeds of her past resurfacing, cause Kate to question herself. Having always been self-assured in her isolation from what she saw as great depravity in other people, she begins to wonder if perhaps it is she who is different. Particularly, her meeting with Aron, who is brought to her out of revenge by his angry and rejected brother, brings this fact into relief. “They had something she lacked,” Cathy thinks to herself, “and she didn’t know what it was. Once she knew this, she was ready; and once ready, she knew she had been ready a long time—perhaps all her life” (550). She was ready to kill herself, which she does, after willing her entire fortune to Aron.
Caleb (Cal) Trask
Cal is one of Cathy and Adam Trask’s twin sons. Cal is described as “watchful” and is darker of complexion and bigger and stronger than his fair skinned twin (333). Cal notices from an early age that people gravitate towards his innocent and angelic looking brother. As a result, he craves attention and often feels rejected, especially by his father. Cal possesses a cruel streak that contrasts sharply with his brother’s gentle nature. While on one hand he loves his brother, on the other, he gets satisfaction from knowing he can manipulate Aron to cause him pain and confusion. Sometimes he feels a great desire to protect his more innocent brother. He is frightened by what he perceives as darkness inside of him, especially once he learns the truth about his mother. He worries it might be an inherited, permanent evil. He prays to God to remove the stain: “I don’t want to be mean. I don’t want to be lonely” (377). After learning about Cathy, Cal stalks her for a few weeks until she confronts him. When he finally comes face to face with his mother, Cal realizes where the darkness comes from and decides that he has the power to become a different person.
Like his Uncle Charles, Cal craves love and attention from his father, whom he believes favors his brother. When Adam loses his fortune, Charles invests in a business deal with Will Hamilton during WW I and makes a $15,000 profit upon the great demand for beans. Cal presents the money to his father as a gift on Thanksgiving in front of Adam, Abra and Lee. Adam rejects the gift, refusing to take any money that was made in profit off of the war. Cal is completely devastated. In revenge, Cal takes Aron to see Kate. Consequently, Aron runs off and joins the military and is killed in battle only a few months later. Adams suffers a major stroke upon learning of his son’s death. Cal, riddled with guilt, seeks out Abra who brings him back to his father. Ultimately, Adam blesses Cal with the word, timshel, indicating that there is a chance of redemption for Cal should he choose to triumph over the sins of his past.
Aron Trask
Aron is one of Cathy and Adam Trask’s twin sons. In comparison to his darker, brooding brother, Aron seems simple and innocent. People are taken by his pleasant countenance: “The width between his blue eyes gave him an expression of angelic innocence” (333). Unlike the clever and suspicious Cal, Aron is trusting and kind. Though he hears suspicious remarks about his mother, he cannot reconcile the fact that his father might be a liar.
While Cal craves the attention of his father, Aron desires the love of a mother figure. He allows his girlfriend, Abra, to mother him and admits to himself he experiences a “wordless longing” for his mother (426). Perhaps, deep down, Aron blames his father for his angst, which could explain the intensity of the embarrassment he suffers after Adam loses the family’s fortune in his failed attempt to transport refrigerated lettuce across the nation. Aron seems to become increasingly uncomfortable in his own skin after that incident and desires to finish school early and leave Salinas.
In the meantime, Aron turns to the church and becomes devoutly religious. He decides to become an Episcopalian minister and even contemplates a life of celibacy, much to Abra’s disappointment. His devout nature causes friction in his relationship with Abra, who feels she cannot live up to his expectations. Overtime, Abra comes to realize that Aron does not love her; rather, he loves an idealized version of her that exists only in his mind—just as was the case with Adam’s love of Cathy. Aron also comes to harshly judge his brother Cal whom he sees as living a sinful life.
Aron is destroyed when confronted by the reality of Cathy. That the blood of a depraved prostitute runs in his veins is too much for him to bear. Though he is killed shortly after he runs away and joins the military, it is likely he experienced a more significant emotional or spiritual death after the confrontation. Readers are left to wonder if Aron would have ever been able to recover from the crushing blow had he survived the war.
Samuel Hamilton
Samuel Hamilton, a transplant from Northern Ireland, arrived in the Salinas Valley around 1870. Samuel is the bearded patriarch of a large family from which John Steinbeck is descended (139). Samuel unfortunately settles on dry, rocky ground and is never able to establish a successful farm. Through his ingenuity and industrious nature, he manages to eke out a meager living to support his wife and nine children. More importantly than financial prosperity, however, Samuel Hamilton is respected and admired by nearly all those who know him. He has a sharp and inquisitive mind and possesses a great love for reading. His reading interests vary widely. He even buys a copy of William James’ Principles of Psychology behind his wife’s back—odd for an Irish immigrant farmer at the turn of the twentieth century. Steinbeck implies Samuels’ tremendous intellectual curiosity and creativity make him special. He also passes his love of learning onto his children, who “[. . .] were better read and better bread than most of their contemporaries. To them Samuel communicated his love of learning, and he set them apart from the prideful ignorance of their time” (147). He has a knack for invention but not business and so loses many potentially great ideas to more savvy individuals. While Samuel never could get water to his own farm, he has a special gift for locating water in the valley. Samuel meets Lee and Adam Trask when Lee comes to fetch him to see if he can locate water on the old Sanchez ranch that Adam has purchased. He locates water using a special forked stick, which he refers to as his “magic wand” (165). When Adam inquires about how the stick works, Samuel explains it this way: “I don’t really believe in it save that it works. [. . .] Maybe it’s this way. Maybe I know where the water is, feel it in my skin. Some people have a gift in this direction or that. Suppose—well, call it humility, or a deep disbelief in myself, forced me to do a magic to bring to the surface the thing I know anyway” (167). Samuel’s sensitive and intuitive nature makes him keenly perceptive about both natural phenomenon and the subtle psychology of the human mind. He sees similar tendencies in Lee, Adam’s servant, and so comes to greatly respect him. He recognizes the inhumanity of Cathy and is greatly grieved by her. He also immediately sees the faults in Adam’s worship of his wife and unattainable dream of creating a garden. Likewise, he knows the great damage Adam is doing to his sons after he falls into a hopeless stupor once Cathy deserts him. Samuel saves Adam’s sons twice—once by bringing them into the world and second by revealing the truth about Cathy to Adam to goad him into living again. Though Samuel dies half way through the novel, he remains an important influence throughout as his figure is frequently recalled by both Lee and Adam later in the story. Even Kate remembers the effect Samuel had on her. His presence resounds again at the very end of the novel when Adam blesses Cal with the word “timshel” since it was Lee’s explanation of the term and the resulting glory of humanity’s apparent freedom to exercise choice which drove Samuel to tell Adam about Cathy in the first place.
Lee
Lee is Adam Trask’s complex and interesting Chinese-American servant. Readers meet Lee when he goes to pick up Samuel to bring him back to the ranch to discuss boring wells with Adam. On the surface, Lee appears a stereotypical Chinese manservant, wearing a queue and speaking in pidgin Chinese. Within a few moments of meeting him and learning Lee was born in America, Samuel tells Lee, “I mean no disrespect, but I’ve never been able to figure out why you people still talk pidgin when an illiterate baboon from the back bogs of Ireland, with a head full of Gaelic and a tongue like a potato, learns to talk a poor grade of English in ten years” (161). Lee and Samuel are great friends from that moment on. Lee explains he essentially hides behind a stereotypical Chinese mask since that is what the surrounding American culture expects from him. Behind the façade, Lee is highly intelligent, thoughtful, well-read and kind. Rather than being humiliated by his position as a servant, he sees servitude as a unique position to exercise power over a master who comes to rely too heavily upon his servant. Lee, however, does not take advantage of this position. He ends up running Adam’s household and raising his twin sons while Adam languishes in his depression. Once Adam emerges from his stupor, Lee presents to him 10 years of carefully maintained accounts—every household penny accounted for. Besides his role as surrogate father to the twins, Lee plays an important role in the novel by introducing the concept of “timshel.” When the twins are fifteen months old, Samuel descends upon the Trask property to force Adam to name his unclaimed and unloved sons. In the process, Samuel and Lee end up discussing the Biblical story of Cain and Abel. Together they ponder the significance of the story, particularly that because Abel dies, all of humanity is descended from the banished murderer, Cain. Intrigued by contradictory translations of the wording in the story, Lee consults Chinese elders with whom he undertakes a study of Hebrew in order to translate the passage more accurately. Later in the novel, Lee explains his findings to both Adam and Samuel, who has come to bid the men farewell. In contrast to the two conflicting translations of the word timshel—one which orders Cain to triumph over sin (do thou triumph) and the other, which prophesies Cain will triumph over sin (thou shalt triumph), Lee and his elders conclude the word is most accurately translated as “thou mayest.” Lee interprets the significance of the word in this manner: “But ‘Thou mayest’! Why, that makes a man great, that gives him stature with the gods, for in his weakness and his filth and his murder of his brother he has still the great choice. He can choose his course and fight it through and win” (301-02). Lee’s words have a tremendous impact on both Samuel and Adam. They immediately inspire Samuel to choose to reveal the truth about Cathy to Adam, which he hopes will force Adam to make a choice: get up and live or lay down and die. At the very end of the novel, we see the lasting impact the words have had on Adam. In the face of one of his son’s death, at least implicitly at the hand of the other, Adam is able to bless Cal, who has struggled throughout his entire life to choose right over wrong, with the word “Timshel.” Essentially Lee saves Cal’s life by not only presenting Adam with the material circumstance to bless Cal by bringing him in front of his father and forcing Adam to speak, but he has also presented Adam with the spiritual understanding he needs to help free Cal from the weight of his sins.
Abra Bacon
The Trasks are first introduced to Abra Bacon and her family when Abra is 10 years old. Her family stops at the Trask ranch for shelter during a storm. Abra is intelligent and precocious. She seems much more mature than other girls her age. Later when Adam asks Cal Abra’s age, he replies, “Nearly fifteen. But she’s—well, more than that some ways” (453). Lee comments that she was born a woman. As a child, she is immediately drawn to the sweet and innocent Aron, which sparks Cal’s jealousy and anger towards her and his brother. Though they are together for just a few moments, Aron and Abra decide they will be married some day. A few years later, the twins end up attending the same school as Abra once the Trasks move to Salinas. Abra and Aron’s relationship burgeons and Abra grows close to the Trask family, especially Lee, who eventually comes to see her as a daughter figure. He presents to her a jade button, his dead mother’s only ornament. Initially, Aron relies on Abra for much needed motherly affection. Later he begins to reject her affections as he becomes increasingly introverted and more devoted to the Episcopalian church. Abra struggles to be what Aron needs her to be, but as she matures, she realizes that Aron does not love her for who she actually is as a person, but rather he loves some idealized vision of Abra that exists only in his mind. As the novel progresses, readers learn more about Abra’s family, which seems cold and unloving. As she does with Aron, Abra hides her true self from her mother and father. Her mother dresses her like a doll and orders all of her affairs. She tells Cal her father never loved her because he wanted a son, probably to name Abraham, which is why he named her “Abra.” At the end of the novel, Abra tells Cal she no longer loves Aron. She accepts that she cannot live up to his expectations and that she is just as imperfect as Cal, who considers himself stained because of his family heritage. Abra says she is equally bad as she has discovered her father is a liar and thief who has embezzled money from his company. Abra finally achieves acceptance from the understanding Lee and Cal. She is instrumental in Cal’s redemption at the end of the novel as it is she he goes to in his despair and she who forces him back to his father’s bedside. Together Abra and Lee save Cal from self-destruction.

Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beeeeee...cause I ship it (submission)
I just saw the musical version of Beetlejuice for the second time and maybe I’ve just put my incest shipping goggles on way harder since the first time, but its full of good stuff.
First, Lydia Deetz is introduced having just lost her mother Emily, and her main motivation through the story is getting her mom back. Lydia adores her mom and mentions that she is basically Emily’s clone. She resents her father because he doesn’t want to talk about Emily, while Lydia is terrified of forgetting her and letting her go. She even goes into the Netherworld in an attempt to get Emily back, because Lydia feels so lost without her.
(Honestly, the early song “Dead Mom” says it all when it comes to Lydia’s relationships with her parents.)
Speaking of, her relationship arc with her father Charles. As I mentioned, Lydia starts out resenting him because he won’t talk about her mom/his late wife. He’s trying to move on with his life–relocating them, wanting to remarry–because of his grief, while Lydia’s grief keeps her locked in the moment of Emily’s death. Lydia feels like nobody understand her, and least of all Charles. He wants her to hurry and move on, fake happiness, and be the “perfect daughter”.
When Lydia finds out her dad is engaged to the “life coach” he hired to help her, she straight up attempts suicide, she’s so upset. Obviously, it’s the straw that broke the camels back, but… shipping goggles.
Anyway, that’s when she meets Beetlejuice. There’s something to be said for the fact that she quickly latches onto a grown man who actually sees and validates the parts of her that Charles doesn’t. And that becomes suggestive when Beetlejuice wants to marry her (just so he can be brought to life–it’s like “for green card reasons,” he insists, because she’s underage and even BJ has standards). She’s not cool with that but pretends to go along with it to get to the Netherworld, for the previous Saving Dead Mom Reasons.
But! her dad follows her into the Netherworld. Even after Lydia + BJ chased him and his fiancee out of their house, he returns to “save” his daughter and even follows her into basically hell. It’s here that they become closer and really start to see each other. Charles understands his daughter’s grief and desperation, and opens up to her that the reason he wouldn’t talk about Emily is because of his own grief. Part of the reason he wanted to marry again suddenly was to provide a mom for Lydia.
They have a really sweet hug and leave the Netherworld together. Lydia obviously still misses her mom and loves her, but she no longer feels alone in the world now that she and Charles are repairing their relationship. The musical even ends on her singing “I’m home” which made me cry.
Obviously I don’t think there’s anything between them yet. Lydia’s a minor and Charles is still set on getting her a new mom. (And I do love Delia, his fiancee, as a character. I just don’t necessarily see them lasting forever.) But they have such potential. After all, Lydia reflects that she’s basically her mother's clone. I can’t help but wonder if Charles might start to see more and more of his late wife in Lydia as she gets older, and how that might change their relationship.
On a non-Deetz family-related note: when Beetlejuice first meets Adam and Barbara (the rest of our main cast), BJ fakes them out by pretending to be Adam’s long-lost father. And right after Adam tentatively buys it, BJ plants a big kiss on him. He makes at least one more “daddy” joke to Adam later in the play, too.
And Beetlejuice has bigtime mommy issues himself. He’s never felt loved by his mother–which is why he struggles to understand Lydia’s desperation to bring her own mother back. At the end of the play, Beetlejuice’s mother appears and tricks him back into the Netherworld… by feigning motherly love for him. It’s sad how eager he is to accept it. He’s an awful person, but the poor messed-up guy just wants somebody to care about him like his mom never did. It’s a sad foil to Lydia and her family.
--
Wow, this is my second post today about a play making an incest ship shippier.
Lots of potential here, and this totally hits my father/daughter sweet spot.
Thanks for all the details!

Is that Mark Lee? Oh, no, that’s Kitae Park, a twenty-four year old professional skateboarder (on hiatus) & lifeguard on Golden Beach Street who uses he/him pronouns. They currently live in Vina del Mar, and the character they identify with most is Spongebob from Spongebob Squarepants. Hopefully they find their own little paradise here in el país de los poetas!
𝒊. dossier.
FULL NAME kitae “kit” park AGE 24 GENDER cis man PRONOUNS he/him ORIENTATION bisexual OCCUPATION professional skateboarder on a health hiatus / lifeguard at golden beach street BIRTHPLACE mokpo, south korea CURRENT RESIDENCE chile. 𝒊𝒊. history.
cw: leg injury mention / divorce mention
kit loves skateboarding. it's the one thing he's good at, been good at since he'd picked up a board at the impressionable age of nine. since childhood, his parents' relationship had been strained - always teetering on the edge of divorce, with explosive fights tearing up their small apartment in mokpo, south korea every night.
he finds refuge in the skate park, pours a little too much of his time there. it becomes a second home when home is too uncomfortable, even more so when his parents finally bite the bullet and cut each other loose, leaving him floundering in the middle.
for a while, he goes back and forth between mom and dad. they live in different cities; his dad remarries quickly - quick enough that it rubs him the wrong way. kit doesn't make his displeasure known during the wedding, only letting it loose in the half-pipe where he brute-forces his way through learning a new trick, knees and elbows skinned.
friends he makes at the park push him towards the pro path and it quickly becomes clear that he's good at it. like, really good. if the amount of time he was spending on this sport was excessive before, it becomes his whole life now. medals and trophies quickly adorn his shelves when he gets his own place, and his parents separately praise him for his achievements. sometimes they even come watch, both of them on opposite sides of the stands like they'd discussed beforehand a careful distance - his father with his new wife and his mother with her work friends, and kit splits his time between the two of them post-competition, having two celebratory dinners.
it's fucking exhausting. if kit isn't careful his existence becomes yet another point of contention. he's spending more time with mom, of course he loves mom more - and now dad's acting all cold, and his new wife looks uncomfortable, and kit pours even more of his time into skateboarding because it's the one place where he feels like he's free and unburdened.
then comes the injury, which... well. no skating for half a year sounds like a death sentence. kit shrugs it off. he ignores his doctor's advice and gets back in the half-pipe way too soon, which leads into injury number two, which is a lot worse than the first one. it's so much worse that he's pulled from the upcoming olympics.
ironically enough, the first time he sees his mother and father in the same room since their divorce is when he's in the hospital, leg wrapped in bandages - and even then they argue.
𝒊𝒊𝒊. currently...
post-injury, kit moves to chile to live with his aunt and uncle (from his mother's side). it's a move supported by his various therapists, for the fresh air and surroundings. he's ignoring his parents rn he has both of their numbers blocked for peace of mind!
right now, he's coping with the summer olympics coming up (that he'd had to pull out of), doing physical therapy, and trying to find supplemental meaning in life.
working as a lifeguard (position courtesy of his uncle, who'd pulled some strings for him) - but don't catch him doing much at the job besides reading and occasionally blowing his whistle. he does not care fr
he still gets away with skating sometimes, just lightly and casually. no tricks. sometimes he'll go to popular skater spots just to watch wistfully.
ceo of saying "it is what it is" "fuck it we ball" "well on the bright side..."
can come off as gratingly cheerful at times (he tries really hard to seem happy, content, and optimistic) but after he runs out of stamina he has a tendency to snap and do a complete 180.

JOHN TAWELL
JOHN TAWELL
c. 1784–1845
Australian convict and Murderer
Tawell worked in a retail business in London and was married to Mary Freeman and was a father of two. In 1814 he was charged for forging banknotes, if found guilty he would have received the death sentence, however, the bank manager was opposed to the death penalty. His punishment was changed to transportation to Sydney, Australia.
Tawell served his time in Sydney and gained a ticket of leave, he remained in Sydney where he opened one of the first pharmacies. His family joined him in Sydney in 1823. Tawell rebuilt his reputation and became an influential figure and set up the first Quaker (Christian movement) community in Australia.
In 1838, Tawell and his family returned to London where his wife became ill and died. He remarried and hired a nurse Sarah Lawrence (Hart) who he had an affair with and had two children with. He housed Sarah and their two children in a cottage, whilst he continued to live with is wife and children.
In 1844, Tawell purchased two bottles of Scheele’s prussic acid, containing hydrogen cyanide. On 1 January 1845, he went over to Sarah’s cottage, poisoned her and quickly fled the scene. He was scene wearing Quaker clothing leaving her cottage, and he then caught a train to go to Paddington Station, London. The police used the newly installed telegraph on the railway line to send a message to Paddington about the crime and the perpetrator. When the train arrived at Paddington, the authorities followed him, and later arrested him.
Medical evidence was used at the trial in March 1845 and Tawell claimed he was innocent. There were witnesses who saw Tawell entering and leaving Sarah’s cottage at the time of her death.
Tawell was found guilty and was hanged in public view that same month with a large crowd watching. Tawell left a written confession which he gave to his gaoler.

The Remarried Empress; Navier finds an injured male wolf and decides to take care of him as he's actually quite docile around her. She lavishes him with good food and a warm bed. After Rashta comes to the palace, she finds great comfort in him. However, one night (before 'Queen' came around), she finds out it's actually Male!Mage!Reader who transforms into his human form to confess he was worried she'd have him killed if she knew he wasn't really an animal. His magic is related to animal transformation and he can turn into any animal he desires (from a small mouse to a loyal wolf to a predatory tiger to a ferocious dragon).
He tells her he's grown feelings for her but understands if she doesn't feel the same way since she didn't even know he was a human. Maybe she gives him a chance to get to know the real him, maybe she just wants to be friends. Either way, they're close (the Emperor does not yet know the truth about the 'pet' wolf).
He's more than happy to welcome Heinrey into their relationship if they have one or happy that Navier has someone to care for her like she deserves (Maybe he can find happiness with Kosair instead if Navier just wants one partner).
I added Kosair in case you wanted him. I wanted to write for him, so I sprinkled him in for free (as if my requests aren’t free already 😂).
Sovieshu
He was definitely concerned when he heard that his wife had found an injured wolf, but he hated how you always stole her attention. He tried to convince himself that it came from a place of being worried that she wouldn’t be able to carry out her duties as the Empress, but he was jealous.
Your stealing her attention only increased when Rashta was brought into the palace, but Sovieshu found himself gradually caring less and less. After all, his new mistress was now taking more of his time in return. I feel like he would leave you and her alone now.
Will occasionally asks for updates on your health, but otherwise doesn’t show much worry over you. But it was certainly weird when he saw a random man in a sling at the New Year’s Ball. Not just that, but both you and Prince Heinrey asked his wife to dance.
But this man is so stupid that he never connected the 4 dots (you are the wolf and Heinrey is the bird). For all he knew, the bird was just a messenger bird and the wolf was just a wolf. You were just an injured man and the Prince of the Western Kingdom was just trying to get with his wife.
Rashta
She was terrified of you at first, but noticed that your paw was injured and therefore you couldn’t do much. She didn’t really pay too much attention to you, so she definitely wouldn’t have been able to tell that you were really a human, a mage no less.
But, she could see that your presence was causing Sovieshu stress. She could tell that it was because you were stealing Navier’s attention, but the fact that an animal could find a companion in the Empress and she couldn’t was infuriating for the young mistress.
However, she also noticed that you stayed away from her all the time. One time she tried to pet you and you jumped back and growled at her before whimpering at the pain in your paw. Rashta quickly drew her hand back, suddenly terrified.
Like the Emperor, she doesn’t connect the fact that Heinrey is the bird and the wolf is, in fact, a human. The young mistress is too busy making sure that her soon-to-be-husband doesn’t find out that she used to be a lowly slave.
Navier
She saw you in her hiding spot, and her heart shattered upon seeing that your leg was bent the wrong way. She immediately called over some of the servants to bring you to an animal specialist so that you could get proper treatment. The lovely Empress eventually found herself attached to the mysterious wolf.
But, one day, she came to visit you in the guest room and was surprised to see a man in the bed instead of a wolf. However, she could somehow tell that it was you. It could be your rugged handsomeness, or the fact that your irises matched. There must be a type or something because Navier found herself attracted to you.
Then there was the whole ordeal with Heinrey. She honestly thought you might have killed the Crowned Prince for ‘stealing’ her, but you were much more respectful than that. No, you sat down and had a conversation with both her and Heinrey, and you all agreed that you were attracted to each other.
That started the divorce sequence of the story. You were healed enough to be on the lookout, but you weren’t permitted to be in the courtroom. Thus, Navier had requested to be wed to both you and Heinrey. Once she was making her escape, you used your magic to freeze the guards and get yourself out of there once you were sure she was at a safe distance in the carriage.
Heinrey
He honestly didn’t see you as a rival, but he was able to see that you were a fellow shapeshifter of some sort. “It takes one to know one”, as it is said. So it starts a relationship of understanding each other on a personal level.
That got you both devising plans on how to make sure that Sovieshu remains jealous of the attention you both are getting. You both were already very handsome, but when you both asked Navier to dance one right after the other, that sent the Emperor over the edge.
This is a relationship goal if I’ve ever seen it. Sure, a polyamorous relationship might be a big deal, but if done right then it can lead to some great things. You both understand that your Queen loves you both, and you know that you both would give her the worship and praise she deserves.
If I’m being honest, this relationship is so freaking wholesome. As a professional mage, you are an advocate for the Western Kingdom when it comes to the Academy so none of your lovers have to leave. Of course, this is after you all are officially married. You also lead the mages within the Kingdom.
An alternate ending if you so choose
Kosair
Upon meeting, he felt himself entranced. He saw you on his visit to his sister, and you were handsome to a whole different degree (must be the human-werewolf glow). Probably doesn’t connect the dots and realize that you are the wolf he sees around the palace.
Either way, be you human or wolf, you find yourself by his side. He believes your story about the wolf being your companion and you both being attacked by bandits on the road. When you do reveal the truth, he isn’t hurt at all. He understands actually, because mages are losing their magic and you might be scared.
When he gets exiled from the Eastern Empire, you’re whimpering and whining at the thought of possibly never seeing him again. You were in a hybrid form, with wolf ears and a tail, so Kosair rubbed that one spot behind your ear that instantly made you relax a bit more.
He told you that his future brother-in-law had invited him to seek refuge within the Western Kingdom, and that you should join him once you can. You both embraced each other in a kiss, and departed with one last look. It would be a while until you were united with him once again.
