can i vent here?
i wanna scream every time marauders stans pulling snape-creepy-obsessive-stalker narrative (ugh but he’s not the one with a tracking map and invisible cloak, is he?)
or
when regulus stans(that are also anti snape) listing reasons why they like his character in canon discussions, and they just…describing canon snape???(i guess fanon too impactful for them huh)
istg they were not this bad before, i have a theory that the shift on the behaviour of these stans is marked by the existence of ⏰app and *redacted* fic
This obsession with Regulus has really caught me by surprise because I’ve been out of the fandom for a few years, and when I first got into it back in the days of Fanfiction.net and LiveJournal, he wasn’t a character anyone really paid attention to, or at least if they did, they portrayed him as a sort of 70s Draco Malfoy and that was about it. The fact that he’s now being treated as a victim of abuse and mistreatment who had no choice but to join the Death Eaters is laughable to me because it’s well-established in canon (Sirius himself says it) that his brother always followed the family’s rules and was actually Walburga’s favorite because of it. (Though I’ve always thought that if Walburga had so much contempt for her eldest son, it wasn’t just about politics, but because Sirius and she had very similar personalities: both were uncontrollable and insufferable, and she couldn’t stand seeing herself reflected in someone who despised everything she valued. And that Regulus probably had a calmer, more malleable, less confrontational character like his father. But anyway.)
Regulus is no martyr. Regulus was a young aristocrat completely aligned with his social class and its prevailing ideas, just like Draco or many of the Slytherins who were Death Eater children during Harry’s time. I’ve always seen Regulus as similar to Narcissa (in contrast to Sirius, who’s like Bellatrix) with pride in his surname and bloodline, with the belief that being who they are makes them superior to others, and with the firm conviction that those beneath them are worth much less or nothing at all. And, like Narcissa, I don’t see him as sadistic, just someone who joined what he joined feeling quite sure of himself but then got scared when things got out of hand. It’s something that happens to many people who join far-right groups, completely convinced of what they’re seeking, but then back down when they come face-to-face with extreme violence. But to project him as some poor victim… Please. Not only is it incoherent and a betrayal of canon, but it also takes away all the character’s depth. You’re stripping away the tragedy of his regret. You’re robbing him of the chance to become disillusioned with what happened and rebel against it. It’s a mess.
I’m convinced that the new Marauders fans simply hate Snape because: 1) he’s the living, canonical representation that their favorite characters were bullies and abusers, and it completely destroys the narrative they’ve created of the idyllic, super-progressive group of friends; 2) because they’re classist jerks who prefer to fangirl over the cool rich kids with money and status who are on the dark side, essentially turning it into some kind of magical Gossip Girl; and 3) because he’s not canonically attractive, and therefore they can’t make aesthetic TikTok videos with him. It’s such a superficial and absurd perspective, much like treating as canon a bunch of characters whose personalities, relationships, and stories don’t exist in the books because for most of them, we only know their names. But hey, fans like this have just enough brain cells to not crap themselves, so…

Hey I absolutely adore your Indian James headcanons can you do some for Harry too please <33
Okay this got too long so it's only Harry's first year at Hogwarts. At some point I might do the rest of his years but yeah. Here you go, i hope you like it :)
The first time Harry noticed his skin was darker than the people on Privet Drive was when he was four. The first time he noticed people sneered at him for it was when he was five and a half. He didn't understand it; why did they think the colour of his skin meant that he was inferior to them? He heard the words chee-chee and brownie thrown around like Dudley threw his food, and quietly pulled his shirt tighter around himself.
When Harry is eight, Dudley and his gang throw him in a ditch and throw dirt and soil on him till he's coughing and tears are running down his face. "You blend right into the mud," Piers laughs at him. The next day, the boy turns up to school with black skin. Harry sits in the corner and turns his face away, a secret grin playing on his lips.
He comes to Hogwarts, and there are so many colours. He is approached by Parvati on the second night, and she asks him if he's excited for Ganpati Chaturthi. He stares at her, and then says, "I'm sorry, but I don't know what that is." She gets offended, but they haltingly talk it out, awkward and stilted like most eleven year olds. When she realises that he's been kept from his heritage and his magic, she flies off the rails with anger. "That's it," she says, "we're friends now. No arguments."
Harry loves talking to Parvati. She's the one that tells him his father was from India. She's the one that tells him the names of his grandparents, that tells him of the importance of heritage in the magical world. They talk about religion and food and all sorts of things, and within two weeks Harry is asking her to teach him Marathi. It's hard at first; the grammar structure is more like French than English, the alphabet sequence is weird and complicated and has too many letters, but he keeps practising his svar and vyanjana and kana and matra. He will do this, he tells himself. (He doesn't tell Ron. He wants this for himself, he thinks. His family, his heritage. He wants to learn before he shares, and so he doesn't tell Ron. For now. He will, when he knows enough.)
Slowly, he starts talking to other Indian kids at Hogwarts. Padma, a seventh year Slytherin named Aarzoo who's Muslim and always has the prettiest hijabs, Gryffindor Kalyani from fourth year and Hufflepuff Rushabh from the third. Kalyani is from Maharashtra just like the Patil twins and Harry, Rushabh is from Gujarat and Aarzoo from Punjab. Harry finds it fascinating that India has so many different cultures and religions, and demands knowledge from them. Aarzoo laughs, and tells him he should have been with the 'Claws.
Harry disagrees. He was supposed to be in Slytherin, he knows, but he is in Gryffindor, where his family had been. His family had been Indian. He wants to know everything about it. If he couldn't have his parents, he would have that which had been a major part of his father's life. And so he reads and observes and studies and asks questions— hesitating at first in case they yell at him (Aunt Petunia hated questions and he feared these people would be the same), but slowly he asks more and more. He talks for hours with Kalyani and Rushabh, and they tell him about Garba and Dhol Tasha, Ganpati Chaturthi and Diwali, Eid and Gudi Padwa. They talk about the languages of India, and Harry immediately asks Aarzoo to teach him Urdu and Hindi. She laughs, and says he should focus on Marathi first. He pouts, but nods.
The Mirror of Erised shows him his father, and he can't take his eyes off. James Potter is a tall man, bulky frame covered in muscles and warm brown skin that seems to glow with happiness. His eyes are light brown, and the bold black lines drawn under them make the green specks stand out. He's dressed in what Harry knows is called a kurta, white and gold threads woven to form images of peacocks and elephants and other intricate designs. The next day, Harry asks Padma what she lines her eyes with, and she promptly hands him a little round metal box and a tiny wooden stick. "It's called kajal." She tells him the differences in pronunciation between Hindi and Marathi, and shows him how to apply it. Harry wears it everyday. It makes his eyes look bright, brighter than they already are, and he falls in love with it. Kalyani presses a kajal covered finger behind his ear every morning. "For good luck," she tells him, a grin playing on her pretty lips. Harry flushes, and smiles back shyly.
For Christmas, Aarzoo gives him perfume. It's chandan and mogra with hints of rose, she says, "and your grandfather made it. His name was Fleamont Henry Potter, and he was an exceptionally talented potioneer." Harry wears it religiously. Padma and Parvati band together and get him books on the Potter family and their historical importance, and he almost cries. Rushabh promises to teach him how to play Garba, and Kalyani gives him a cookbook for everyday Indian foods— breakfast and lunch and a few fancy stuff. Harry hugs it to his chest and thanks her with shining eyes. (he may have a bit of a crush on her. He can't help it— she's really smart, and she's pretty.)
Throughout the year, all of them work to introduce him to Indian food. At first, he thinks it will be easy. It is not. There is no such cuisine named Indian, Parvati tells him sternly. There is Punjabi, South Indian, Mughlai, Maharashtrian, North Indian, Bihari, Bengali and so many more. "The food in India changes with every twenty kilometres of travel," Aarzoo says when he mock complains about it. "It's never the same, and that's what makes it so special." He agrees.
The end of the year arrives, and Harry is still weak from his tryst down the trapdoor. When Ron and Hermione aren't present, his friends from home (because that's what India is, isn't it? His home. The home he never got to see, but is no less a part of him.) crowd around his hospital bed and have long talks with him, filled with banter and laughter. His Marathi is so much better now than it was in September, and he blushes when Kalyani compliments him on it. Rushabh winks at him, and Harry throws a pillow at him, feeling the blood rush to his cheeks at being caught out.
On the last day of school, he hugs Aarzoo around the waist and cries into her stomach. It's the first time he calls her "Aarzoo Tai", and she smiles widely, her own eyes dripping tears. "You will write," she says sternly, "okay? This might be the end of my Hogwarts years, but you are my little brother." He cries harder and nods, refuses to let go until the very last minute.
Harry goes back to Privet Drive with a heavy heart and a proud smile. He isn't inferior to the people there, he knows. He's special. He's Indian. He's James Potter's son, and he's going to live up to it.

My HC:
So Dorcas, Reggie, and Remus all get together in the library and study. Sometimes they don’t even talk at all, but they love it because of the company. But they’ll also talk about some of the latest gossip at Hogwarts. It goes like this:
Reg: Remus, can you pass me that quill?
Remus: Oh yeah, here.
Dorcas: Did you know that one 1st year Ravenclaw burst his inkwell trying to get a quill out with his wand?
Remus: Amateur, he needs to practice his incantations.
Reg: I think he’s pathetic.
*all of them go back to studying and then every 10-15 minutes a small conversation strikes up*
Sirius, Marlene, and James all head out to the Quidditch practice field and just goof around. They will fly upside down on their brooms and watch as the others cry laughing. Something like this:
*Marlene riding her broom in a circle faster than the speed of light*
Sirius: MARLENE YOU LOOK LIKE A DONUT
*Marlene falls to the ground and gets up only to bang her head on a wall, much like a loony tunes character* James is on the grass dying of laughter, not even able to get up because that’s how hard he laughed.
So, Pandora and Pete head down to the lake and just talk about whatever’s on their mind. I could imagine a conversation almost like this:
Pete: Have you ever thought about why butter flies aren’t made of butter?
Panda: Yeah, I always thought that was sort of weird.
Panda would never make Pete feel foolish or stupid when he says something, but instead she actually adds her own thoughts and inputs to it.
Evan and Lily are both prefects and whenever they’re done with duty, they’ll go to the Marauders’ dorm room and sneak chocolate frogs out and eat them while talking to each other about the shenanigans they went through that day, something like this:
Lily: This 1st year hufflepuff was almost transfigured into a table!
Evan: No way, I think it was the 3rd year Slytherin that probably did that… you know, the one with a shining charm on his Slytherin patch?
Lily: He is so annoying, always talking about how many quidditch brooms he has at “daddy’s mansion.”
Evan laughs at her impression of the kid.
So yeah that’s how I think their conversation goes.
Next, we have Mary and Barty. Mary just does her makeup and Barty watches in awe as eyeliner perfectly laces her eyes. One day Mary notices him watching and asks him if he wants to wear it, Barty nods. Ever since then, Mary always does Barty’s eyeliner. He doesn’t wear is often, but when he does, it makes him feel powerful. She also is his kind of personal therapist? Here’s how it goes:
Mary: Stop moving, love.
Barty: Sorry. Mary: Love, you need to stop saying sorry for everything. You’re perfectly alright.
Barty: Mhm.
Barty looks at himself in the mirror and is stunned with how beautiful he looks. Evan comes back from prefect duty (and eating chocolate frogs with Lily) and practically faints.
All of them have these little things that they do together, most of the time the others don’t even know that they do it because that’s their little thing that they want to keep secret.
So, what do we think?
in a perfect world, this is how they all would have been 😔
ok now how did u type all of this omg
dorcas, reg, and remus are like meannnnnnn. mean meannnnnn. i like mean people so i dont rlly see the problem here like they definitely would get so much done but gossip at the same time like everyone's gotta learn how to multitask like them.
YES omg! i headcannon peter, marlene, and james being childhood best friends so like marls and jam (marls and jam sounds so cool wtf) are already close and sirius and marlene got closer through quidditch and like chaos buddies defo.
why arent butterflies made of butter. pete and pandora on top omggg i feel like pandora is very silly and talkative to like regulus and peter is quiet but it switched up so much like if anyone else saw them they would be like ...guyss.... whats happening..?
evan(s). not lily and even sneaking into the marauders dorm pleaseeeeeeee. they would be amazing honestly, like no shame to remus but my man is just trying to get through school yk? why him as prefect (not that i don't like it but in my mind its funny) evan and lily isn't something i rlly would have thought of yk, but i feel like they're both so secretly unhinged lol.
not mary gentle parenting him omggg neeeeeed. barty will look so stunning in eyeliner on god omg. evan being stunned is so true, i was the eyeliner tube :)
this was so fun omg thanks x

Cassie‘s and Sebastian‘s red string theory
(A bit of lore for understanding my ff which is coming soon! It‘s not their complete story!!)
Back then, Now and in the Future:
*reminder! English is not my first language!
- Cassie and Sebastian‘s parents were all in the same year when they went to Hogwarts. When they became friends they made a „pact“. Sebastian‘s and Cassie‘s Father were quite two of the „strongest“ wizards in Hogwarts. Cassie’s father could wield strong ancient Magic and Sebastian’s had the ability to cast strong spells without failing and being a strong Duelist. When they knew that both families had difficulties they did fight together so that they’re stronger. Their Parents always said that their first born kids should end up together because their Magic will complete each others like a Puzzle and their Blood line (it‘s just a Metapher - it has nothing to do with being pure blood or smth.) will be very very very strong.
A time after they‘ve left hogwarts, Cassie‘s and Sebastian‘s parents became pregnant at the same time period without knowing. They didn‘t had any contact after their time at hogwarts because they were to busy with their jobs and their incoming kids. Sebastian was the first born Child of the Sallow Family (he came before anne) and obv. Cassie was the first and only one of her parents. Both parents knew that when they were born that - no matter what - they would find each other.
When Cassie was three her Father died. Her Family invited the sallow‘s to the funeral and that’s were she and sebastian first met. But nobody said anything. Her mother stayed quiet on that day - she wasn‘t even saying a word. When Cassie saw Sebastian she felt like that she already knew him but she didn‘t.
Time was passing by when Sebastian‘s parents died. On this time cassie was already locked in and had no escape. When his parents died she felt his grieve even without knowing what was happening. Also when Cassie‘s mother was attending the funeral without her, Sebastian knew something was missing… he felt that.
Cassie‘s mother was the only one who survived from both families so she wanted to keep Cassie safe… safe from the people who murdered her Dad and also from Hogwarts and Sebastian. She knew if Cassie would go to Hogwarts she would get herself in danger. She and Sebastian would be a strong duo and it would be so much risk - for the two of them. So she avoided that Cassie would go … and even to meet the sallow‘s.
- Cassie was attending Beauxbatons while Sebastian was in Hogwarts but they felt like if there‘s something missing… it didn‘t felt right like the way it is. Sometimes they had strange dreams, but they didn‘t know what they should mean? … it was more like a blurred vision.
- when Anne got cursed and sick, Cassie had the feeling that she needed to help someone but she had no idea who and why… and thats when her invitation to Hogwarts came through and she left… without her Mother knowing.
- when Cassie arrived at Hogwarts and she was sorted into Slytherin, her and Sebastians first conversation was quite normal - two strangers - right? But no.. when they looked at each other it felt… right… it felt… familiar. But nobody spoke it out or gave to many thoughts into it.
- they story continues and they went to feldcroft, so Cassie could meet Anne. When Solomon saw Cassie he immediately knew who she was… he knew that face and he could feel the tension Cassie and Sebastian had.
- she was the one who was meant to be with sebastian on this journey … to save anne.
- after everything happend they didn‘t talk to each other… but everywhere she was he was too.. and everywhere he was she was too.
„I feel so far away
You always come my way“
- when Cassie was about to go to Albania she told nobody but sebastian knew without actually knowing so he was with her.
- when were they 100% sure about their feelings? When sebastian went to rethink everything after a quidditch game and wanting to give up… he saw Cassie standing there and thats when their eyes met… they immediately knew. They always knew how the other one felt just when they looked into their eyes. Without being near they had a sense of shared feelings ( example: like when sebastian was in pain - Cassie could feel it too)
-when did they knew about the red string? On their last week at Hogwarts they made a encounter with something.

Tumblr media
“Met the new kid today, absolute weirdo,” James shrugged. Lily elbowed him in the ribs, gaining an exaggerated “ow!!” from him. “If I judged you that way I wouldn't be here, you fudgehead.”
Sirius chuckled. “Lily's right Prongs. What's so weird about this new girl anyways?”
Remus listened intently.
“She's super quiet, jittery…..And the weirdest bit is the rumors circulating about her–”
Remus perked up, “You mean that she never had a sorting ceremony?”
“I heard one moment she's Slytherin, and the next she's rocking our red and gold uniform,” James added.
“Is that even possible?” Sirius wondered. Lily shrugged, “Maybe, if Dumbledore had something to do with it.”
Sirius whistled all of a sudden, drawing their attention to him. “Speaking of which…” He mumbled in a hushed voice, eyes diverting to the small sized girl that had just entered the common room.
Remus stood up, his mind was on autopilot, focused on greeting this beautiful new girl.
~
She really wanted to make friends, something the rest of the system disagreed with. She sighed, wondering why Dumbledore had made her uniform ‘change houses’ everytime they switched causing so many rumors about them to circulate. Sure it made them feel like they could each be their very own person, but technically speaking they weren't, and they never will be.
A guy approached her when she entered the Gryffindor common room. He had lovely brown eyes and a scar on his face.
“Hi. You’re new here right?” He extended his hand to her. She shook it timidly, nodding.
He smiled warmly, “I'm Remus, Remus Lupin. And you are?”
She heard his friends snickering from a couch near the fireplace. She hesitated, “I- I’m Y/n.”
“Nice to meet you, Y/n. Welcome to Gryffindor.”
She smiled back. This guy was nice.
The both of them stood there awkwardly.
“Er… Would you like to hang out with us?” Remus offered.
This caught her off guard a bit. “S-Sure! Only if your friends are okay with it though…”
He laughed, “They'll be fine.”
~
“Guys, this is Y/n. Y/n, meet–” He inhaled, “Potter, Evans, Black and Pettigrew.”
I don’t think I can remember all that—
“Hi…” She smiled shyly.
In an instant, Y/n felt herself get pulled away, her vision blurred and her thoughts got all fuzzy……
She was dissociating.
Remus knew it seemed a bit rude but when Y/n flinched and then zoned out all of a sudden in the weirdest way possible, Remus found himself waving a hand in front of her eyes.
“You all good?” Lily asked, voicing everyone’s concern.
She gained awareness and muttered, “Yeah. Great… Who the heck are you people again?”
The Marauders exchanged quick glances before Sirius spoke up, “Remus just introduced us. D’ you have short term memory loss, Y/n?”
She put a hand behind her neck. “Amnesia, something like that.”
Qi didn’t like these people already. Y/n was making friends, sure… That didn’t mean she had to like it…… or them.
She got up and stretched. “I’m gonna go,” she paused. “The name’s Qi by the way. Not Y/n.”
~
“Told you she’s a weirdo,” James mumbled after she’d left. Lily sighed at her boyfriend’s crazy remarks.
Remus on the other hand couldn’t wait to talk to the curious girl again.

I was thinking about Harry Potter today. A lot has been said, and rightly so, about anti-semitism and anti-queerness and slavery and a lot of other problematic issues. So I want to mention something a little different: the fact that the magical community literally created their own enemy, through a series of choices made over generations and by virtually every British witch and wizard.
"There's not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin," Ron tells us. Maybe he's exaggerating, but certainly most of the nastier ones seem to be Slytherins, including the Big V-Man himself. And why does such a thing as a "Slytherin" exist? Because the entire British magical community continues to endorse the practice of letting an old hat choose one quarter of their kids to be radicalised.
If I was looking at schooling options for my kids, and one of the choices was to send them to a school which provides a safe and nurturing environment for neo-nazis, I would simply choose something else. Homeschooling, establishing a new school, writing a stern letter to the principal, moving literally anywhere else.
But the witches and wizards of Rowling's world are happy to accept the inevitability that either their kid will become the magical equivalent of Andrew Tate, or will have a great deal of close contact with lots of mini-Tates.
Over hundreds of years and many generations, Slytherin house has provided children who have those tendencies (remember, the Sorting Hat sees a child's potential and places them in the house that will nurture them!) with like-minded peers and authority figures. They are in an echo chamber. There's no intervention, nobody's going "Oh, this is problematic, let's try to help these kids be better, to think more critically, maybe little Johnny Magicpants could be a valuable member of society if we feed him some David Attenborough instead of Tucker Carlson."
They did this to themselves.

The glimpse of us
Tumblr media
CHAPTER ONE
For many reasons visiting the parallel universe of Harry Potter and especially the year that Lord Voldemort was attending Hogwarts could end up only bad.
She knew that this boy hadn't any stake in the future and didn't deserve any affection, because he was a monster, the boogeyman of Hogwarts apparently; creeping out of corners and selecting his victims only to achieve his evil plans. However, why Y/n was so intrigued to do it again?
The answer was simple— the girl was fascinated by Tom Riddle since she first saw the second movie of Harry Potter, like many other, mentally unstable, girls. Visiting him again would fulfill her desire of meeting, at least in her sleep, the Slytherin boy.
"I can change him", Y/n murmured as she bounced through her bedroom floor. Her friend Marisa looked at her with a blank stare almost facepalming at her friend's statement.
"You gotta be kidding me right now Y/n," she sneered with a glimpse of irony in her eyes. Marisa Evans was a fan of Harry Potter too, but not as much lunatic and obsessed as her friend was. "You have read so many stories on these bloody websites about Tom Riddle— did any of the main characters did? No, and to be honest Y/n this is a waste of time,"
Y/n frowned and sat beside the bed with her friend staring at her intensely "It's a bad idea I know, but it would be fun shifting again,"
"Didn't you shat your pants in your last encounter?"
"Yes, but I didn't know that I was meeting him,"
"Same thing,"
Y/n sighed crossing her arms over her chest and falling with her back to her bed. The girl wanted so much to meet him again, just only to replay their previous conversation and turn it into a normal one, but indeed, he was a waste of time.
However...
Keywords; Selena Gomez outsold Hailey Bieber, she laughed at herself for selecting this, but she was too affected by the recent conflict between the two celebrities. She was one hundred percent sure that this keyword won't be forgotten that easily.
Being a waste of time or no, yet, the twenty-one-century girl played the same playlist subliminal to achieve change her reality once again. She knew that her plans could be doomed, waking up the next morning in her bed, without proper application of the method.
You can shift for as long as you want, but when you woke up you would be exhausted the TikTok video in front of her played numerous times as she was debating to herself if she wanted to stay that long there. What if she never woke up? Luckily, the possibility of sticking to a different reality was close to none, more like nonexistent. But still, the feat was crawling in the back of her mind like a spider debating if she is about to do the right thing.
Y/n's head began to feel heavy, and she knew that she needed to sleep. However, the temptation to shift was too strong to ignore, like a small voice whispering to her. With tomorrow being Saturday, she had the opportunity to spend the whole night trying to shift.
In her mind, Y/n had crafted a script where she was a powerful witch from the Greengrass family, sorted into Hufflepuff House. The script was simple enough to make her fit into this new world, but she still needed to decide how long she wanted to stay there.
Y/n felt a deep desire to stay at Hogwarts forever, as it felt more like home to her than her real one. She remembered watching a video where a girl had stayed there for six months, and Y/n felt drawn to stay the same amount of time. Surely, half a year at Hogwarts wouldn't be too bad, right?
As she lay in the bed, she closed her eyes and began counting, repeating the script in her head over and over again, hoping it would work. After a while, the effects of the shifting began to take hold. This was a normal occurrence, but it felt creepier to Y/n than the time she had experienced sleep paralysis. The room seemed to spin around her, and she felt like the walls were closing in on her. Despite her best efforts to relax, her body felt as though it was flying and then dropping into a black hole, moving at incredible speed. The faint sound of the subliminal intensified as if it was an orchestra, reaching its climax with the melody.
Her heart jiggled in her chest and from the disturbance she fell from the bed she was laying on. Her eyes once again opened wild, her vision blurry and her hands perspiring. The ambiance of the room greeted her and it took some minutes to understand that this was not her actual room. It was dark outside, but she could notice that their beds were around her with students sleeping peacefully. The bright color of Hufflepuff's house could be noticed in her bed mattresses and Y/n felt her heart explode from happiness.
The names of her two roommates popped immediately into her head; Grace Johnson and Charlotte Macmillan were her friends since her first year, however, Y/n didn't script them, and the paradox there was that she had memories with them from the past that didn't knew that they were there. Y/n furrowed her eyes with a puzzled look, how what this possible? Her mind had also other information, such as memories from her family or her school schedule, the knowledge she had gained all these years from Hogwarts; everything that she didn't scrip was on her mind filling her memories. As much as shocked she was, she thought that maybe she accidentally scripted also a life with memories without understanding it.
She closed her eyes, tired, ignoring the fact that before she could finally fall asleep she had already replay to her mind the ingredients of the poly juice potion, she would need for her Monday's class, twice.

Please sort The Hunger Games characters into HoGwaRtS Houses :
For reference (according wikia)
Hufflepuff : Loyalty and hard working
Gryffindor : Bravery and chivalry
Ravenclaw : Wit and learning
Slytherin : Cunning and ambition
You can include as many characters as you want/can.
And you can give a reason why do you sort that character into that house.
Thank you so much 😊
PS : this is just for fun, if you don't like HP or THG, just ignore this ask 🔥
@curiousnonny
Happy holidays @curiousnonny
Firstly let me say that even though I was sorted at one point to Ravenclaw I was recently sorted into Gryffindor - slightly disappointed because I'm a calculated risktaker.
Please note I find traits from every house intriguing I love Slytherin's cunning, I love Huffpufs loyalty, I love Ravenclaw's thirst for knowledge, and okay then there's Gryffindor's chivalry: which means - the medieval knightly system with its religious, moral, and social code.
Tumblr media
That being said, I would put Gale in Slytherin because of his ambition and because he is very clever, he can be cunning.
I'd put Delly in Hufflepuff, she's a ride-or-die kind of girl.
I'd put Jo in Gryffindor she's fearless not so much in the chivalry dept., but she's the girl who's got your back.
Katniss is Gryffindor all the way.
However, Peeta could be sorted in either or. Seriously He's brave, he's cunning, he's loyal, and he's witty - the sorting hat would have a problem sorting him, Peeta would tell the hat put me in the house with Katniss most likely lol.
Finnick I'd sort him into Hufflepuff
but Annie I see her as sort of a Luna Lovegood - so Ravenclaw
Haymitch would be Slytherin because of his cunning
Prim is the dark horse while people put her in Hufflepuff she'd be like a Ravenclaw she's very smart.
Effie believe it or not I'd put in Gryffindor. She turned away from what she was taught about the districts. She became fiercely loyal to her kids, defied the capitol, withstood torture, and came back to help Katniss get ready to kill Snow. That is the definition of Gryffindor's courage
Cinna - Slytherin - OKAY HEAR ME OUT! He was ambitious to topple the Capitol and did everything he could for that goal. He was also very cunning in how he navigated the system for his ultimate goal, going so far as turning the wedding dress into the Mockingjay dress. He even made a Mockingjay combat outfit for Katniss. Betting that she would be the face of the rebellion
As for Snow and Coin, they'd be squibs yeah they don't get to go to Hogwarts

Draco and Dransy for the ask game please?
thanks for asking! (I'll try not to make this post too huge lol)
ask game here
💚 Draco
How I feel about this character:
My precious little meow meow for 15 years (that's a crystal anniversary!). I actually can't explain how I feel about him without divulging my entire autobiography, but here are some relatable things we have in common:
being edgy because vulnerability is weak
going scorched earth sour grapes when rejected
jealous little attention whores
having done cruel things for said attention
impossible-to-please parental figure set in their callous ways and restrictive worldview
complicated feelings about Harry Potter
Sometimes I wonder if it's unhealthy to indulge such strong kinship with a character over mostly negative parts of both of us but anyway moving on
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Pansy, Harry, Theodore, Luna, Goyle, Scabior, Borgin, Tom Riddle (in some really abusive way), Neville, Cedric, Remus, Sirius, Marcus Flint, Zacharias Smith, Cormac McLaggen, any random man off the street apparently. Astoria maybe.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Narcissa! Love to project my mummy issues. And I also ship them incestuously, but that would still not be romantic, more just expressing mother-son affection in messed up ways.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
He doesn't need to be redeemed to be lovable!!!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Canon is perfect the way it is. Get out of here with your deleted movie scenes, let him be a confused Slytherin mess.
I don't even really wish he had married Pansy, because despite her being my beloved princess I sort of like how much JKR hates her + I guess that would be narratively weird, unless Pansy's character had been given more attention all along/had a "horrible to questioning" arc of her own.
my OTP:
I refuse to pick one (you'd think I'd say Dransy, but I can think of so many reasons why they could break up lol).
my cross over ship:
Any of my other mean rich kid blorbos: Blair Waldorf, Sharpay Evans, Cheryl Blossom, August (Young Royals), Nathan (Life is Strange), Ryle (The Riot Club).
a headcanon fact:
He always has two birthday parties, one on the actual day (and it's a whole thing that it cannot flop due to exams) and a bigger one after term ends that marks the beginning of summer holidays.
💕 Dransy (aka racistflower, raciststars, or racistracist)
when I started shipping it if I did:
Last year. I genuinely don't know why I didn't ship it before, must be misogyny (and the fact that there are so few fanworks about it).
my thoughts:
I like mean rich kids and two of those together is chef's kiss. Also there are so many different directions you can go with this ship, from the most wholesome to the most abusive, all of which l find fun to explore.
What makes me happy about them:
The comfort of being childhood friends (even if I don't think their friendship was equal or entirely healthy) to lovers. Empathising with each other's dark side. Romanticising the dramatic ups and downs of potentially toxic fictional relationships. Going shopping.
What makes me sad about them:
That it's such a niche ship! Come on, it was literally canon for a while, what is wrong with society 😭
things done in fanfic that annoys me:
What fanfic? 😭 But I don't like it when Pansy is too sassy-confident, when Draco is too traditionally manly, or when either of them is explicitly forced into their ideology like they didn't enjoy being bigoted little shits.
things I look for in fanfic:
Being mean together, struggling to be kinder, (getting used to) being vulnerable with no one except each other, fighting because they refuse to be vulnerable, doing rich people things together, struggling to do non-rich people things... But I guess the most important thing is I'm just picky af about the characterisation vibes.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Draco: Harry, Theodore, Luna, maybe Astoria
Pansy: Daphne, Marietta Edgecombe, maybe Lavender (but if she's black it gets rather complicated) + I once made up an OC that was Pansy's French gf
My happily ever after for them:
Luxurious travels around the world, until they're coastal grandparents with or without any grandchildren.
who is the big spoon/little spoon:
They both want to be the little spoon, but sacrifices must be made, so they alternate.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity:
Spa day! And taking Witch Weekly quizzes.

the credibility of hogwarts house sortings comes down to 1. if the sorting hat has prophetic powers and 2. nature vs nurture
at 11, theyre just about hitting puberty and shit gets fucked with hornones and stuff. they could act in ooc ways, different to how they would normally. theyre also children, so they have no time to actually develop a personality. i havent been in the hp fandom for a bit, so my memories are a bit muddled, but i dont think childhood memories are very accurate in choosing where they should go.
some may be definite, like someone being exceedingly manipulative and sly as a kid becoming slytherin, or someone unafraid to speak up and defend others consistently bei by gryffindor. what about the general ones?
average smarts, not very ambitious, wont speak up for someone bring bullied or something. they dont fit in anywhere. where do they go?
it would be entirely based on their thoughts that very moment. that wouldnt be reliable in any way.
its true that theyd probably change to fit the stereotypes of their assigned house, but theres no way to know of its good or bad change unless the hat has prophetic powers and could see the persons future.
if the multiverse theory is true, that means the hat would have to review infinite different futures for that one person. they would practically never end, as the universes are affected by other people too. its impossible for the hat to choose based on that. thats too much.
and did i just forget that harry convinced the hat to put him in gryffindor? to be fair, trying to do that in itself is a gryffindor move, trying to reason with a weird mind reading hat. that would feel like an invasion of privacy, and very uncomfortable. harry was very ballsy.
the initial sorting process is reliable, but not very accurate in some cases, if it can be convinced so easily.
then, we don’t even know if they stay accurate. we’ve established that the hat probably can’t see the future and that eleven year old children arent fully developed.
the first thing that comes to mind are burnt out gifted kids in ravenclaw.
ravenclaws are there because they’re smart. that is the simple truth. but what if they experience burnout? their grades drop, they stop turning in homework, they skip. suddenly, the supposed ‘ravenclaw’ doesn’t exhibit any stereotypical ravenclaw traits. why are they still there? they could get resorted, but that’s never been mentioned in the books.
wouldnt it be embarrassing to go up to the hat like all the little firsties? watching the shoddily concealed disappointment in everyone’s eyes as they see a disgraced ravenclaw, unable to take the pressure that everyone else in their house could. there would always be something different about them, never fitting in with anybody else in their new house.
the house rivalries splitting friends apart, people who they’ve been with since the very start. there would be shame in their eyes, pitying gazes trailing then as they walk down the hall, not making eye contact with anybody.
its obvious that the teachers are not used to them being in that house. they stumble on roll call, almost asking where the formerly bright student would be, then they catch themselves. they do a double take when observing the class, wondering why they would be in the room.
omg wait i got so sidetracked. jkjk its 3am and im dying to write a fanfic but i know i don’t have the dedication so i guess it spilled here?
anyways it’s very likely that students would change to fit a different house over time. still, not as many would become the best version of themself if they weren’t confined to their house.
u know that one line in zootopia? ‘if the world is only going to see a fox as shifty and untrustworthy, there’s no point in being anything else.’ it was something along those lines.
the students would probably subconsciously try to fit in with the stereotypes for their house, therefore developing a personality that vaguely fits with what they’re ‘supposed to be like’.
sorting just stunts the students’ growth as people. it is unnecessary. they should be like middle schools where they give a house but it’s just a colour and they aren’t actually seperated like that unless it’s sports events. even so, nobody really cares about that.
dictating how people are going to live their entire lives by a few minutes wearing a hat is literally the worst way to have a future.

For the snape asks: III and XI :3
Thank you for the ask :) took me a while to come up with answers for these.
III: Should he have been sorted into slytherin? Why or why not?
In terms of whether he deserves to be in that house I'd say yes, sorting him into Slytherin was the best option for him- except that he was sorted into it at the wrong time in history I suppose. He shows most of the qualities- we see his resourcefulness, cleverness and determination in how he helps the fight against Voldemort. In his younger years there is also a sense of ambition that he had, directed towards proving himself (by learning more than what he needed, like his spell creating) and getting the upper hand on his enemies (the marauders).
However, we know that many of the people with him in that house at the time were indoctrinated death eater kids, and it was likely their influence which helped Severus to make the decision to become a death eater. Unless the other three houses were also facing an infiltration of kids who were also indoctrinated, it might be best that Severus went into Ravenclaw at least- he has a fair share of wit and intellectual ability to fit into that house.
XI: Why do you think he kept helping dumbledore after finding out he lied to him about harry’s life?
There's definitely quite a few ideas on why Severus continued to help Albus. It depends a bit on how you view Albus and Severus' relationship. There could be some manipulation at play, with Albus convincing Severus that this was the ultimate way for him to truly repent himself. Albus' treatment of Severus could very much have been better, he did tend to use a fair bit of guilt-tripping on him at times, subtly reminding him of his role in Lily's death to try to convince him to do things.
On the other hand, something a bit nice to think about- Severus continued helping Albus because despite the betrayal, he just genuinely came to understand it would be the only way for Voldemort to die. Despite his devotion to Lily, he came to believe in the cause and wanted to end Voldemort's terrors. A way of showing that Severus truly changed his beliefs, and ended up believing in the beliefs espoused by the people fighting Voldemort's philosophy. If you take the cursed child as canon, there's a line by Severus himself that supports this idea:
Snape: One person. All it takes is one person. I couldn't save Harry for Lily. So now I give my allegiance to the cause she believed in. And it's possible - that along the way I started believing in it myself.

Ophelia knows many things, all good purebloods do. She knows French, she knows all the worst curses and Insults, she even knows who she will marry when she is if age. What Ophelia has never known- never understood- is her twin's resistance of the inevitable.
She has never understood why Sirius revolts against their life every day. Screams back at their mother as she curees him.
She is the model daughter for her parents, born with the signature family hair and nose. Her manners are immaculate, a slytherin at first sorting. She is the one who cares for her brothers, a perfect daughter.
Ophelia is the one to teach her youngest brother how to play the game. She raises him as best she can around their parents' intermitten attempts at parenting.
When Sirius makes Gryffindor- she cries in her dorm that night. She already worked so hard to shield him and he just had to end up- well there woukd he hell to pay she can't protect her twin from.
So instead she focuses on school, dragging him into tutoring sessions, and being subjected to his friends in addition. But it's the price of keeping his grades in a place their mother will accept.
Reggulus becomes slytherin, and Ophelia can only thank the stars. She can't imagine what woukd jappen if both brothers were not Slytherin. He even keeps good company, though Dorcas is around Sirius' friends occasionally, it can't be helped.
Ophelia takes the dark mark when she turns seventeen, over Christmas break her seventh year. She hates the burn it gives her. But she has to do it.
She's a Black.
What she dosen’t tell anyone, is that she runs into Sirius and the redhead Snape fancied- Evans?- and she just shakes her head when he raises his wand. She says softly, "I'm not going to hurt you. Hurry and go before Crouch shows up though."
So her brother does, dragging Evans with him.
And then a few weeks after Reggulus dies. And Ophelia- she's so proud that the pain is twice as much at her loss. She sits at his grave well into the night. Long enough for Pandora to come, a traitor to her blood-
"Lovegood." Ophelia manages, "He would have loved to be her godfather..."
"I know."
"He's a letter he wrote... I'll mail it tomorrow. "
"I see... Why do you stay?"
"I've been here too long to change. Who woukd believe I was not cruel?"
"I do. Your brother. Alithea Fisher."
"Maybe..."
"Ophelia. Reggulus always spoke about how you two would plan your escape."
"Well... It's too late. Isn't it?"
"Maybe."
"He was a kid, Pandora. We all are!"
"I know."
And neither speaks again that night, sitting together as they mourn.
Ophelia leaves her family that day, and she goes to her brother. To her twin. There's a lot about herself she doubts will ever be okay, but- but she dosen’t want to be a death eater. She just wants her brother's back.
And it's too late for Reggie, but she still has Sirius. And she's hoping he'll listen.
The door she knocks on reveals Remus of all people, who glares at her.
"I'm looking for Sirius... A lot's changed since we spoke."
"I doubt it."
Then Sirius is pushing past Renus, the Familial magic tugging him forwards. "Ophelia? What the bloody hell do you want?"
"Can I come in?" She asks, and she's tearing up again.
"Why?"
"I just want to talk... Please. I told you before, I'm not going to hurt you. I just-"
"Come on. Hand your wand over."
So she does, passing it without hesitation to Sirius as she's pulled in.
"Sirius. " She says, "Reggie died."
"Oh."
"I- really need someone to tell me that it's not too late for me... Sirius- I hate deatheaters. It's one thing to choose to keep your own bloodline pure- but what they're doing..."
"What you did." Remus reminds.
"It's disgusting. Children are fighting a war! I- they let Reggie die. No one cared. The only other person who stayed with him after the funeral was- Pandora..."
"So?"
"Look I know you don't want me around. But- Can you help me? I just want to be better. And since there's no one left to protect I can leave."
"To protect?!"
"Please. I'll even stay away. I just need a little help."
Sirius pulls a face, and Remus stares holes through her.
"You really want to change?"
"I do. I hate who I've become."
"That makes three of us." Remus says.
"Fine. I'll help you. But you owe me." Sorous concedes, and he dosen’t actually need her to give anything but herself. He missed his sister.
"I know." She manages, "Thank you."
"We'll start by getting you somewhere to stay."

Proper Hogwarts Houses
Honestly, the sorting hat needs to learn how to do its damn job.
Harry belonged in Gryffindor, yes. He valued bravery over all else. He'd been raised by horrible people that called him stupid and weird on a daily basis. I'm sure they didn't promote learning for him, I'm sure Dudley made school hell and kept friends away from him. He would have done well in Slytherin, but he belonged in Gryffindor.
It put Ron in Gryffindor because it had put every other Weasley there too. He belonged in Hufflepuff though. He wasn't brave by himself; he was brave for his friends. He was brave because he had to be.
It put Hermione in Gryffindor because she was brave, but she was so incredibly smart though and I wonder how much better that would have been encouraged if she'd been in Ravenclaw. Would her classmates have called her a know-it-all? Would they have complained about her studying habits?
It put Draco in Slytherin because he admired his dad, wanted to be like him, but look me in the eyes and tell me Draco didn't value bravery. Tell me that the boy that wanted to be friends with Harry so bad they became enemies never thought about how brave he was, never wanted to grow up to be like the famous Harry Potter, the boy who killed the Dark Lord as a boy. Tell me he wasn't brilliant, the second smartest student in his year. Tell me he didn't value friendships, Pansy and Blake and Crabbe and Goyle.
It put James Potter in Gryffindor and he belonged there too.
It put Lily Evans in Gryffindor, but she was the smartest witch of her age. Why not put her in Ravenclaw.
It put Remus Lupin in Gryffindor, but he grew up to be a professor. Did he belong in Ravenclaw as well?
It put Sirius in Gryffindor and I support that choice, but it reminds me of Ron Weasley at times. If it had followed procedure, put siblings together, Sirius would have ended up in Slytherin.
It put that rat of a man in Gryffindor, and I think we all know Peter Pettigrew didn't belong there. If it had put him in Hufflepuff, would he have learned how to have stronger friendships? If it had put him in Slytherin, would he ever have been friends with the Marauders?
The house system at Hogwarts is dumb and outdated, and if Hogwarts wasn't so far from the current day, so stuck in the past, then maybe they would have never had evil student. Not so many, at least. Honestly, a house dedicated to sly and witty children didn't need to be filled with all Death Eater children. I don't believe that all of those kids looked up to their parents. I don't believe that Crabbe and Goyle would have become what they did if they weren't in Slytherin.

waitwait this is gonna sound a little weird,,, but bear with me
so in my multilingual, gender non conforming, queer little brain, the parent terms have two meanings. mother can mean 'female parent', or it can mean the (male, female, nonbinary, any gender, no gender) parent who does the more stereotypically 'maternal' things, and vice versa for father. i don't know if this sounds sexist, but i really don't mean for it to!! it's very late at night (or very early morning) and i'm trying to word this correctly but failing.
anyways there's the whole thing about snape being fem coded in a lot of ways? there was a really good post about it, some examples were like how he would likely poison, not fight someone and like how he brews potions (cooking metaphor ?) as opposed to doing things like aggressive spellwork. additionally, the way he dresses, the long hair, how he's often soft-voiced and sly (so basically a lot of elements of jkr's often misogynistic portrayals of women). also he's always talked over and treated as inferior and never taken seriously in canon and
anyways, the point i'm trying to make is, he is definitely (in my head at least) a much more maternal figure than a paternal figure. i absolutely adore my father, he taught me loads growing up, and he was just amazing in so many different ways. however, i feel like my experience is pretty rare? like when you look at 'fathers', there's no real definitive duty? like i guess there's the 'father provides for the family', but the mother duty (I DO NOT MEAN WOMEN SHOULD BE OBLIGATED TO DO ANY SORT OF DUTY, I DONT BELIEVE IN GENDER NORMS, IM JUST USING HEAVILY SIMPLIFIED WORDS AND DEFINITIONS TO TRY AND GET MY POINT ACROSS) is more all encompassing. like, a mother figure will teach you how to do the practical things, like how to get a fitted bedsheet on, how to make curry with the right amounts of spices, how to iron your shirt, etc etc (i'm repeating myself at this point but i really don't need anyone getting the wrong idea: fathers/male parents can do these things too, i am using a VERY simplified version of my idea and i'm trying my best). (actually, thinking in this way, my dad did a lot of 'maternal' things for me, which might be why i'm still so close to him.) a father might,, idk, a father figure might teach you the less everyday things? someone help me out here my childhood was weird
anyways, back to the Sneep: he seems like the kind of parental figure who would teach you the things you need. like, this is a sort of headcanon, but i feel like he must have helped out a few abused slytherin kids, especially with how his own childhood was. (well he would have helped students in general, but the abused kids thing is a special thing about him to me.) he would teach you how to brew healing potions, how to handle knives properly in the kitchen, and maybe this is a stretch, but he'd probably even understand the basics of periods and how to help his AFAB children students through it. if someone dropped by his office feeling stressed and broken down after a conflict with a friend, he would (awkwardly) nod along and provide a listening ear. maybe he wouldn't be the best at helping, but he'd be there and he'd listen because he understands how it feels when no one does. if he heard the first years complaining about the cold in the dungeons, you bet there'd be a stuffed animal enchanted with a warming charm waiting in each student's bed that night. it's the small things but he cares he really does!!!!!
uhh yeah i got a little carried away writing this-
ok so hear me out
I see a lot of sentiments about The Slytherins appreciating and seeing Snape as a father figure of some sort and even doing nice things for him on fathers day (very cool and good) BUT CONSIDER AS WELL:
it becomes just general knowledge that Snape has a grumpy "I'm not your dad" disposition even as he very much does all the fatherly parental things (because he's just grumpy and contrary like that even when he cares so so much and they all know it)
SO NOW CONSIDER ACTUALLY:
To be cheeky, the Slytherins dont give him father's day gifts. They give him MOTHER'S DAY gifts
they really do appreciate him so much, and The Sneep is OH so annoyed, and DEFINITELY not holding back tears, as he quietly cherishes all his mother's day cards and puts them away safely in a little box which he will keep forever. He's a single mother

Hogwarts sorting
A lot of people have been doing hogwarts houses for the kids so,,, why not. Take this with a grain of salt because I only actually got up to like,, halfway through the fifth book before leaving it in my locker at school and forgetting about it oops but I still have the familiarity with the universe that comes from growing up in a media environment saturated with it so
without further ado
Luther: Yeah I’m gonna go ahead and go with the general consensus of Gryffindor. The house of the brave, loyal, courageous, adventurous, daring, and chivalrous. Because one of Luther’s core traits is that he’s loyal to his father, but also as the ‘leader’ he’s been groomed to be brave and courageous etc. etc. But what sparks me as Gryffindor the most is actually something not explicitly shown at all - that sense of adventure.
Luther chose the hero name ‘spaceboy’ despite that having nothing to do with his powers. So what that says to me is that once upon a time Luther was a little kid who probably wanted very much to be an astronaut, who looked up at the moon and said ‘one day i’m going to go up there’. That sense of childish adventurousness and daring. I think in his own way Reginald felt badly about you know, fucking Luther up entirely, and sending him to the moon was indeed a way to get him out of the way but also an apology and a fulfillment of a childhood dream. I still hate Reginald, he can go fuck himself, but characters are allowed to be complex I guess.
End result: Gryffindor
Diego: I actually want to put him in Gryffindor. I know a lot of people put him in Hufflepuff, and while I think that also fits I think he’s probably closer to Gryffindor. Because there’s that righteousness and idea of doing what is right no matter what. Diego is a vigilante as his job. I think the reason he got kicked out of the police academy is that it’s difficult for him to sit back and wait for justice to be served, and it’s absolute agony to let someone go free when he knows they’re guilty because they don’t have the evidence.
He’s impulsive and daring. He literally investigates a crimescene right under the nose of his ex who is a member of the police. He’s clearly a regular as the other cops recognize him and are familiar with him. He doesn’t let little things like the rules or laws get in the way of him trying to do what he thinks of as right.
Plus, you know, I feel like it would give him and Luther even more of an excuse to be competitive tbh.
End result: Gryffindor, borderline Hufflepuff
Allison: Slytherin without question tbh. Allison is no doubt ambitious, she leaves home and immediately starts climbing the social ladder by becoming an actress and celebrity. She doesn’t care about other people’s autonomy and is willing to lie and manipulate to get what she wants, she’s resourceful in that she didn’t even hesitate the tools at her disposal - aka, her powers. It’s a bad combo and she ends up rumoring her way through her life until it collapses around her.
She’s prideful. She doesn’t like accepting help and advice, just look at the scene between her and Vanya towards the beginning where Allison feels vulnerable after having her rocky relationship with Patrick eavesdropped upon and she lashes out. She’s resourceful, she doesn’t even hesitate to use her fame to manipulate that deputy or whatever into helping her.
Allison is a Slytherin and she’s a damn good one tbh.
End result: Slytherin
Klaus: Hmm this is actually a difficult one. I actually want to put him in Slytherin, because despite everything he is actually an incredibly resourceful and in his own way an ambitious individual. Of course, that ambition is to drown out his own power and obtain drugs and alcohol but hey I can’t judge that knowing how fucked up it makes him.
Klaus was shown at thirteen as already doing drugs, rolling a joint under the table. Audacious, honestly. But that means that he knows how to get around the rules and exit the house and obtain funds and meet his dealer before getting back into the house. He’s clearly crafty enough to get what he wants.
He’s resourceful, often insightful, determined, and has concrete goals that he puts a good amount of effort into achieving. He doesn’t especially seem to like hard work and spends a lot of time looking for shortcuts, which honestly is pretty Slytherin of him tbh. So yeah, I’m gonna put Klaus in Slytherin.
End result: Slytherin
Five: okay I am genuinely stuck with Five because honestly I could see him in multiple houses tbh. I mean, not really Gryffindor, but any of the others. I almost want to say Hufflepuff because honestly?? His loyalty to his family is one of his core character points and they got him through the apocalypse, this is a character unafraid of hard work and toil. But honestly?? He’d terrify the hufflepuffs. Traumatize them. He’s way too intense for such a generally laid back house. It would be absolutely hilarious tbh
And while I also think Ravenclaw would be a good fit because he’s hungry for knowledge,, I actually have to go with Slytherin. He’s cunning, resourceful, and ambitious as all hell. It’s not enough for him to save his family, which could be accomplished simply by obtaining a suitcase and then time travelling elsewhere with them, he’s got to stop the entire ass apocalypse. He managed to survive like, forty years in the apocalypse for crying out loud. This boy is resourceful as all hell and survived on pure spite and determination.
And honestly?? He’s very ‘the ends justify the means’ in his philosophy. He’s willing to kill people he doesn’t even know (see: the scene in his room with Luther) in order to achieve his goal (protecting his family/stopping the apocalypse).
End result: Slytherin, borderline Ravenclaw (and Hufflepuff)
Ben: oof I’m torn between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff but at the end of the day I’m going to say Hufflepuff just because his loyalty to Klaus is unquestionable. Ben appears to be capable of leaving Klaus’s side, but chooses to spend his time with his brother even though Klaus disappoints and frustrates him in equal measures.
Hard work, dedication, loyalty, and patience? Ben has to have those traits in spades if he’s willing to work with Klaus for so long tbh. Not to mention that it’s implied he was close to Five as a kid (the second name Five calls out for in the apocalypse) and honestly Five as a kid would have also been an exercise in patience oof. I love Five, I really do, but sometimes brothers can be frustrating.
I know Ravenclaw is a strong contender but,,, honestly I like Hufflepuff for him. Plus I’m a sucker of Slytherin/Hufflepuff friendships and if Klaus is slytherin then that matches up nicely lmao. Ben probably sneaks Klaus into the kitchens.
End result: Hufflepuff, borderline Ravenclaw
Vanya: Vanya gets Ravenclaw because I say so but also because she’s clearly very dedicated in the pursuit of her passions. She mastered the violin while being drugged to the point where she couldn’t feel any strong emotion, which means she was so passionate about the violin that at least something trickled down and damn that’s some for real dedication. She studied and practiced music in like, every flashback okay
She’s intelligent and self-sufficient, she’s the only sibling that actually made and built a solid life for herself with her own two hands. Yeah, not an especially fulfilling life, but she held down a job. TWO jobs with tutoring. She had her own apartment that wasn’t the boiler room of a gym. She had at least some amount of therapy, even if she quit. And presumably she learned how to do adult all on her own.
Not to mention she was a teacher!! She taught kids violin! Just Vanya gets to be a Ravenclaw because I say so and I love her
End result: Ravenclaw

HAPPY HALLOWEEN: Percy Weasley if you would like :p
a continuation of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Percy has enough on his plate without having to worry about Harry Potter. The kid's not even in his house, for merlin's sake.
Unfortunately, Harry is in Agnesa's, who's determined to make it his problem for some reason. He'd complain about it to Penelope, but she hates Agnesa, and probably will continue to until she comes out ahead of her in the transfiguration rankings again. He's staying out of it, but only because he's ranked above both of them.
He's on his way to potions when someone grabs his elbow and yanks him into a broom closet. He doesn't know why the castle has so many of these - it's not like anyone actually sweeps.
Agnesa shoves him into the corner then locks the door. He's maybe sort of had a dream or two that started like this before. "We're going to be late for class."
"This is more important," she says, which gets his attention. Agnesa's holding onto the top spot in potions by her fingertips. "What do you know about Remus Lupin?"
He stares at her. She can never come to him with something normal. "Um. Wasn't he a known associate of Sirius Black?"
She nods. "I need to get in contact with him."
When nothing further is forthcoming, he sighs and rubs at his forehead. "Why?"
"I thought you didn't want to get involved in this," a touch to acidic to fall into their normal sneering exchange.
They've only had a real fight about one thing recently.
"What does Remus Lupin have to do with Harry?" he demands.
"I don't know," she says, "but I'm going to find out. Once you give me his contact information."
"And how am I going to do that?" he asks.
"By asking your parents," she says, which wasn't what he'd expected. "Sirius Black was in the Order of the Phoenix, along with the Potters, and probably Remus Lupin. And so were your parents. I bet they still have someway to contact him, or at least a place to start."
Percy was only a toddler when the war ended. But Bill and Charlie had told him stories, ones that he'd refused to pass down, but he knows that his parents did not stand idly by during the war.
He's still not sure how he feels about that. For better or worse, he doesn't think he's the type of person that could take that risk if he had kids who were depending on him. There were five of them then, five children who couldn't take care of themselves, waiting for their parents to come home each night. What if they hadn't? What if Dad or Mum had been in the wrong place or been a little too slow or gotten caught passing along information? Then he and his brothers would have been all alone -
Oh. They would have been put in the same situation as Harry.
Who Percy doesn't think they have to worry about, because Dumbledore wouldn't let anything terrible happen to the boy who lived, and an outdated prescription and hand down clothes just happens sometimes. He'd dismissed it as Agnesa growing up too rich to know the difference between poverty and neglect, but even if that's the case, what do they really lose by looking out for the kid?
He hates feeling put in his place by a Slytherin, even if it is Agnesa.
"Okay," he says. "I'll send them a letter today."
She softens, blinking at him. "Really? What do want in return?"
His moral superiority back. "We'll call this one a freebie."
Agnesa smiles at him, sweet and large enough that her eyes crinkle at the corners.
He ends up getting a detention for showing up late to potions.
Agnesa doesn't, of course.
