ON THE FLOOR WRITHING AROUND AND FOAMING
THE WRITING, THE GENUINE AWKWARD BOY MOMENTS, IM IN LOVE!!!
Words cannot describe how much I love this story and the writing, none of it felt out of character for Remus and the angst was the cherry on top!!! Was giggling and kicking my feet at the end and my heart genuinely clenched at our poor boy's depressive thoughts(an understatement)
Definitely a great read and something that thoroughly entertained me!
It's Nice To Have A Friend
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Reader
Synopsis: Remus' childhood best friend is the only person he is comfortable showing unrestrained affection towards â until he one day gets in his own head about it.
Words: 14.4k
Warnings/tags: there are some suggestive remarks, brief references to "shagging" and implied underage drinking, but i would classify it as safe for minors! fem!reader, use of y/n, childhood best friends to lovers (thus you grew up in wales and use welsh terms, but you aren't said to be welsh), you are in ravenclaw (only for one plot point, not personality), platonic physical affection, romantic physical affection, kissing, "it was revealed to me in a dream" trope, some miscommunication trope, deep yearning, remus' pov (meaning loads of self-loathing and overthinking), panic attack-ish, remus cursing like a sailor and joking about jumping, kind of shy/reserved!remus, some angst, happy ending ofc, background jilypad
Note: phew this was intense but sosososo much fun to write. it is very much a fluffy fic tho, don't be worried<3 i fucking love this story/dynamic so much
It is an ill-kept secret that Remus John Lupin struggles with romantic public displays of affection.
It was something his best friends had teased him relentlessly for since the first time he was given a Valentine Dayâs card in year two by a boy that he didnât even have a crush on mind you, and became a stuttering, spluttering mess. He could still hear James and Siriusâ barks of laughter the second that Hufflepuff was out of view and could still feel the bench shake from when Peter fell off it, clutching his stomach. Remus had been sure his cheeks would be permanently dyed red from the shame.
His one friend who did not betray him in such a manner was his oldest, namely you. Remusâ sweetheart, as Sirius called you, his childhood best friend from back home who he broke the statute of secrecy for when he was too young to realise what that meant, but who thankfully turned out to be a witch too. Something you both wept tears of joy for, as you did not have to be separated when he went off to Hogwarts.
On that horrid day, you only pinched his darkening cheeks and laughed quietly â still teasing, but in a way that felt more like admiring and less like humiliating. He faintly remembers scrunching his nose at you in response, a look you immediately mirrored before you went to hide him in the crook of your neck and gave the others a faux scolding for âembarrassing poor Rem when he is wholly capable of doing so himselfâ.Â
His makeshift pack of friends kept that routine up for the rest of his school years, consisting of James and Sirius poking constant fun, Peter enjoying it all a tad bit too much, and you âprotectingâ him while laughing all the same. His affliction only worsened throughout his time at Hogwarts, but if one of his afflictions were to be the butt of a joke, he supposed he was grateful it was this one.
In moments like these, it was a tad bit difficult to keep that sentiment up, though.
âYou should have seen the look on his face, doll!â Sirius made out through a laugh as the group made their way back from Hogsmeade.Â
He was recounting Remusâ dance on the Three Broomsticks dancefloor with one slightly-more-rowdy-than-normal Emmeline Vance who all but dragged him out there despite his quiet sputters. You had been off on some endless errands that Remus had passionately attempted to join you for before Sirius all but bolted him to the bench because âyou owe me a round, you mangy wolfâ.
âI believe I have seen it many a time, Siri,â you laughed out, yelping slightly when Remus pinched your side from where he had his arm around you. âHey!â you scolded him half-heartedly, point diminished by your grin.
âCheeky minx, donât side with the devil!ïżœïżœ Remus conspired with you through a stage-whisper while glaring at Sirius, whose laughter only doubled in intensity.
âYou canât ask me to lie for you, del,â you replied in the same tone of voice, leaning up to kiss his cheek as if to apologise for your treachery. An apology that was wholly accepted as Remus tugged you closer into his side and allowed for the laughter around him to continue with a sigh.
Because therein lies the one exception â Remus Lupin was pathetically incapable of public displays of affection, unless they were with you.
His problem with these displayals was the insinuation behind them and the attention that was brought to him because of it. If Emmeline dances with him, leaving a scandalously little amount of room between them, he knows what she wants from him and everyone else does, too. If his current romantic partner kisses him in the hallway, it is a glimpse into something that otherwise occurs behind closed doors, a reveal of his private life that he does not enjoy. He wants that part hidden, and embarrassment flares through him like a rocket at the thought that others bear witness to it â and then the flames are stoked when they notice that he knows and has enough dignity to be embarrassed, which just fuels an eternal evil cycle.
You, however â your wonderful self he has known all his life, you who refused to ever leave his side despite his lycanthropy and subsequent grumpy, isolationist persona, you who are his absolute better half and light of his life â there was no reason that affection should be hidden. There was nothing secretive nor fragile in your relationship, it was the purest thing he had ever had the pleasure of having.
There was nothing insinuative or blasphemous about it, there was nothing to be held against him. He would hold you, hug you, even kiss your shoulder, cheek and forehead, because he and all else around knew that it meant nothing more. It was nothing out of the norm, nothing for others to point out and bring attention to. There was no glance into something hidden away, there was no line being overstepped. It was just two best friends, aware and proud of how much they meant to one another.
So Remus never had any hesitations about leaning into your touch, about seeking yours out, about lips identifying exposed skin and staying there for a moment or two. It was something he began doing before he truly knew what embarrassment entailed, it was muscle memory as much as instinct these days.
And if others did not understand it fully, that was an issue Remus for once felt no confinement to public opinion on. If people made assumptions or threw glances, it held no importance to him. Even his Marauders, Sirius especially, raised their eyebrows at your proximity when you all first met, but they understood the routine of it all quickly. That these two first years before them were a package deal in every form of the word. It was quickly accepted within your little pack, albeit fondly commented on every now and again. James had Sirius in that same unrestrained way, bodies strewn across each other at any given opportunity, so why couldnât Remus have you? Why wouldnât he?
Never mind that Sirius was officially brought into James and Lily's relationship at the end of last term.
âWell, James would hug anything that moved and seemed like it might need it.â Sirius had argued one night many years ago, not needing to add the and I need it.
âAnd isnât that lovely for Prongs,â Remus had drawled in return. âBut I need a few years to get there, and Y/N happened to be more strategic than you lot.â
âBy knowing you first?â
âPrecisely. Also, sheâs lovelier than you.âÂ
It had earned him a snort and a pillow to the face, but it was accepted without further questioning. With the exceptions only occurring in a drunken babble here and there from Sirius, alone in their dorm after a party. Remus is quite certain he couldnât string together a coherent sentence if his life depended on it in those states, and so he never took it to heart.
Remus revelled in having something of his own, someone only he understood on that level, and his heart always warmed when he thought about how lucky he was that that someone was you.
He subconsciously pulled you even closer at that thought, content and comfortable to do so whether that be around his marauders or in front of the whole Great Hall; there was nothing more to it to be embarrassed of. It was just you; just Y/N and Remus. Like always.
âYou occluding yourself away from your menace of a dorm mate?â you whispered to him then, and he angled his chin down slightly with a smile to find you looking at him curiously.
âOh, yeah,â Remus agreed with a solemn nod. âMust prepare for being locked up in a room with him all night. Itâs tedious work, you know?â
âMost certainly.â You attempted to match his faux severity, but a giggle escaped you nonetheless â a beautiful one that Remus decided to mentally save for the night, should Sirius become unbearable.
Speaking of; âI take great offence to that,â Sirius proclaimed from the few strides ahead he was, pointing his finger in Remusâ direction without turning around. âDog-like hearing, Moony, donât think you can get away with badmouthing me here!â
âDog-like he says,â Remus whispered to you, earning him an indignant âoi!â as Sirius finally turned around.
âGorgeous, would you tell your worse half to knock it off?â
âI sure will,â you declared, turning your body more towards Sirius in Remusâ grasp. âSiri, sweetheart, would you knock it off?â
Within the second, Siriusâ offended expression transformed into one of giddiness. âAwe, princess, you think of me as your other half?â
âWorse half, Pads,â James interjected, looking over his shoulder bemusedly.
âDo keep up,â Remus added with a half-hearted glare.
âIrrelevant!â Sirius threw his hands up and spun around in celebration. âI have won the title of her other half, you can get lost Moons.â
Remus used his arm around your shoulders to angle you back away from Sirius. âI think not. Iâve been keeping this friendship for so long, sheâll need a lawyer to get rid of me,â he stated matter-of-factly, looking down at you at the last bit. âCapiche?â He tilted his head at you.
You hummed through a poorly-withheld smile, as if you were considering it. âSure thing, cariad. Meet with our lawyers tomorrow after lunch?â
Remus gasped as you ripped out of his grasp and stuck your tongue out at him. Flashbacks of your younger days chasing each other down dirt roads came to his mind and widened his grin as he saw you back away from him, eyes trained on his expression.Â
âMinx,â he breathed out through a laugh just before you sat off running away from him; Remus hot on your heels, laughter escaping him freely. Sirius began running with you, though he was slowed as he twirled around and hollered, surely waking the entirety of the mountaintops surrounding the castle.
James had been minding his own business for once as he engaged in quiet conversation with Lily and Pandora, but his eyes twinkled as he eyed his three running friends, exchanging a knowing look with the redhead.
âYoung love,â Pandora sighed dreamily, though James could never be certain if she was looking at the loud, carefree forms before them or at something entirely different.
Remus saw you stopped running while still some dozens of metres away from the castle, still facing away from him, but arms opening to accommodate for the impending crash of his body against yours. It does something funny to his heart to think about, but he just lets it widen his smile as he did exactly as expected â let his arms loop around your waist and twirl you around as he caught up to you.Â
Your out-of-breath giggles permeated into his ears as his face was tucked in between your neck and shoulder as he slowed down, laughter calming in his own chest.
âCaught you,â he whispered through his own breathlessness. âHappy now?â
You turned in his grasp, squeezing at his shoulders both to show affection and seemingly to steady yourself as your chest still heaved; Remus held you tighter to help you in the latter endeavour. âShook off Sirius for a bit, so yeah, I am. As should you be.â
He dropped his head laughing at that, glancing behind him through his hair to see Sirius bent over, hands on his knees as James had already caught up to him and was patting his back in sympathy. Any other time of the month, Remus would likely have been right there with him, but this was a good week and you always seemed to be able to find some semblance of energy within him, even if he thought he had none.
âI take back my calling you minx, then.â He looked at you with a smile. âThat was strategic.â
âAre you saying minxes canât be strategic, Loopy?â You raised your eyebrows at him teasingly, pulling slightly out of his grasp to breathe better.
âIâm sayingâ donât call me Loopy.â
Your smile became almost taunting at that, and Remus knew his comment likely only worsened the likelihood of you using that nickname now. âI just remembered how I used to call you that the other day actually,â you mused, putting on an innocent smile. âI donât remember why I stopped, I just forgot about it. I think it might be time for a renaissance.âÂ
âI think Iâm too out of breath for you to say things like that. I canât chase you any further, but that deserves to be chased.â
You shoved lightly at his shoulder at that. âYouâre getting too old, youâre no fun.â
âIâm super fun. Textbook definition,â Remus harrumphed, gleaning when you rolled your eyes through a burst of laughter.
âNo one who references textbook definitions is fun, Moons!â James called from where the group was catching up to you two, finally within earshot.Â
Sirius was practically draped across Jamesâ shoulder, breath still coming heavy. He pointed yet another accusatory finger, this time at you. âYouâll be the death of me, dollface. Merlinâs tits.â
âDonât blame me for your own inadequacy, gorgeous,â you quipped back. It made Remus rather proud, especially when Sirius groaned dramatically in response.
âTime to get some beauty sleep then, yeah?â James coaxed, giving Siriusâ cheek a peck as he continued effortlessly dragging him in through the entrance of the castle.
Lily hummed in agreement, poking one of her boyfriends in the side. âYeah, Sirius seems to need it.â
âYou think Iâm so sexy, Red, donât lie to yourself,â Sirius mumbled, petulantly remaining worn out over Jamesâ shoulders.
Remus smiled at his friends, hand reaching out behind him blindly, knowing youâd find it. Surely enough, your fingers intertwined with his own and gave him a little tug to hasten his gait down the hallways.
Moving up the staircases with surprisingly little trouble, the group finally found themselves outside the portrait of the Fat Lady, ready to split up with you and Pandora heading to Ravenclaw and the rest clambering inside.Â
You made your goodbyes, quick hugs and kisses on cheeks with Lily and James and a kiss to the hand from Sirius who had decided to lay down dramatically on the floor. When you turned to Remus at last, just a tad bit away from the others, he enveloped you in a warm hug, breathing you in as he settled his chin on your shoulder.
âLet me walk you?â he asked, already knowing you would say no.
âNice try Loopy, but Iâd rather you go inside to the warmth and head to bed,â you murmured into his neck. âThank you, though.â
You always said no. He always asked, anyway. Sometimes, if he was feeling particularly protective or otherwise missed you too much, heâd go with you anyway. Today he decided to respect your wishes.
âTell me again why you had to be an independent person and get sorted into your own house?â he grumbled against you, smiling when he felt your chest rumbling beneath him. That same smile softened when your grip on him grew just the slightest bit tighter.
âSomething tells me youâll survive.âÂ
He tightened his hold on you in turn, one arm around your waist and the other stabilising your neck, before he spun your body around twice, twirling along the hallway. He relished in the laughter that escaped you and ensured to stamp a proper kiss to your hair before he released you back down to the floor.
âSleep well, dove.â
âGoodnight, cariad,â you said through a soft smile, giving him and the others a small wave before turning around to where Pandora was waiting, grabbing her hand as you two all but skipped down the hallway together.
With his eyes still glued on your disappearing form, Remus nearly yelped as Jamesâ hands came up to settle roughly on his shoulders â albeit somewhat careful of his joints â steering him through the now-opened portrait, who was rambling on with complaints about students taking up the space in front of her for too long.
âFunny that,â James started.Â
Remus gave him a puzzled look. âWhat, Prongs?â
âJust that you danced with one Ravenclaw at the Three Broomsticks for two minutes and gained the colour and conversational skills of a tomato; but when you twirl and kiss this Ravenclaw, all youâre left with is that goofy grin of yours.â Jamesâ comment seemed off-handed, said over his shoulder as they walked through the empty common room.
âFirst of all, itâs Y/N weâre talking about and not some Ravenclaw,â he started, confusion laced in his voice. In the meantime, James and Sirius kissed Lily goodbye, the latter giving her bum a light tap as she moved up the stairs to the girlsâ dorms. âSecondly, itâs Y/N. Sheâs my best friend, and one of yours, mind you. Whatâs there to go all tomato for?â
âSome would argue, there is never any reason to go all tomato,â Sirius taunted, ducking the smack Remus aimed towards him.
âYeah, yeah, I know,â James laughed, literally waving it off. âJust pointing out the parallel. Ironic, innit?â
âDonât see why it would be,â Remus grumbled petulantly in return. Sirius reached up to ruffle his hair somewhat roughly before entering their dorm, where Peter was already waiting for them, tucked into bed.
âWhatâre we laughing about tonight, fellas?â he questioned without looking up from the magazine he was reading through. Remus was fairly certain he had seen Mary reading through that very same magazine last week.
âOh just at Remusâ peculiarities with birds.â Sirius felt emboldened with his comment from where he was crouched behind his bed â ample distance to protect him from Remus, he surely gathered.
âSo, nothing new? Nice.â Peter returned his attention to the magazine it never really left.
âYeah, donât worry Pete â your friends are just as big arseholes as on any other day.â Remus bent down to pat the boy on the shoulder before moving over to his own bed, between Peter and Siriusâ.Â
âHey, I donât mean to be an arsehole,â James complained with almost a full pout across his lips within a second of Remusâ comment. âWeâre just having a bit of fun psychoanalysing you, sâall.â
âWhich, of course, is a generally accepted polite thing to do.â Remus nodded as if he was gravely understanding, only flipping James off when the other boy didnât catch his sarcasm.
âNo, Remmy, what would be rude is to point out how you are desperatelyââ Sirius began with taunting mirth plastered all over his face, but he was cut off as James all but jumped on him to cover his mouth.Â
The black haired boy looked up at his boyfriend first with some offence and then a look Remus didnât want to witness.
âHow about we leave poor Moony alone for the night, huh baby?â James questioned, moving his hand away from Siriusâ mouth as the other boy nodded almost dumbly, still staring up at him.
âWhoâs turning red now?â Remus whispered to himself as he looked through his trunk for his pyjamas. He barely had the reflexes to catch the pillow Sirius hurled at him, tossing it back with a loud laugh that was quickly reciprocated by his best mates.
As if a miracle had been awarded them by some forgiving gods, the boysâ dorm room quieted down fairly quickly after that. Sirius and James settled in Siriusâ bed for the night, barely fitting themselves onto the mattress that was almost too small for one boy, let alone two. Once in each otherâs arms, however, it was an easy thing to drift off. Peter was asleep before the other three had even brushed their teeth.
Remus was the only one tossing. Not unusual, but he couldnât really understand why that was tonight.Â
His sleep cycle often closely followed the moonâs, and he was almost two weeks away from the full moon, a perfectly decent time for falling and staying asleep. Tonight, though, his body was once more fighting him. He kept replaying the night, the conversations, the interactions, trying to pin his unrest on something. He supposed that dance with Vance had been unexpected and the adrenaline spike of all the attention following it might still linger and make sleep evade him.Â
Despite what his dismay for public romantic displays might indicate, Remus was no prude. As a matter of fact, just as Sirius had before he was locked down, Remus was no stranger to making his rounds at the occasional common room party. Rarer was it that he shagged anyone back home, as he spent most of his time with you, but it had happened here and there too. Vance and him had even spent a night together once at a quidditch afterparty, but he had no significant interest in her apart from a mutually understood night of fun. He never really did, even when his partners were great in all capacities. It just didnât seem that romance was an object for Remus â and good riddance, if the struggles of dealing with it so far was any sign.
Perhaps that was it then, dancing with Vance had rehashed something for him. Though the idea didnât settle well in his bones, Remus also knew that he would never settle if he didnât give his mind an excuse for his sudden restlessness.
After checking the time with a hefty sigh, he decided to throw in the towel and took a small sip of a sleeping draught potion he had at the ready in his bedside table at all times. If sleep would not come to him, he would hunt it down damn it. His friendsâ playful mockery and a dance he didnât even want to partake in would not cause him any more torment.
As Remus slipped into the land of dreams, he may come to regret that sentiment, if but a bit.
There are warm bodies pressed uncomfortably close to him â the warmest of which has her arms around his neck, one hand scraping through his hair. It should feel good, Remus enjoys when his hair is played with, but this feels sharp enough to draw blood. Emmelineâs laugh is all he can make out over the chatter and stomping around him, but it feels wrong, scratchy like a record player. Her fingers on him are cold, unlike anything else in the room.
It is spinning. The room, that is. Remus is unfocused, as if he had been shooting vodka and not butterbeer earlier. He canât quite make out any of his friends, or anyone really, Emmelineâs features bleeding out into the background.
For some reason his heart is pounding the way it does before his transformation. Everything feels painfully wrong and he is aware of every inch of his body where Emmeline is touching him.
She is still laughing and Remus is sure it would make his ears bleed, which only confuses him further because Emmeline is truly a nice girl. Just not one he wants to feel flush against himself at the moment.
He reaches a hand up to touch his ear â realising only now that his arms are hanging limply by his sides, the only static thing in the otherwise spinning room â and when he retracts his hand to look at it, his fingers are coated with blood.
His breathing grows ragged as he feels the blood running down the side of his neck. He has half a mind to tell Emmeline, to shout for help. He doesnât. Nothing comes out when he tries to open his mouth, all control of his body ripped from his grasp.
With no warning he realises the wetness on his neck is not blood, but someoneâs open mouth smearing kisses down it with reckless abandon. His stomach ties in knots and he wants to push Emmeline off of him, still to no avail.
Her grip on him tightens painfully, and Remus swears he feels a bone break. He would know.
The flurry behind her has just become a swirl of colours and sounds to him and Remus feels himself drowning in a moment he desperately wants away from. He shuts his eyes hard, taking deep breaths, trying to calm himself.
He feels a warmth in his chest, starkly different from the heat around him, that slowly, like thawing ice, begins to spread throughout him. He hums the melody you sang to him during his first ever panic attack, the sweet one that always lulls him to sleep, and the warmth spreads faster.
With his eyes still screwed shut, Remus begins to regain the feeling in his legs first, noticing them swaying back and forth to some calmer, unknown rhythm.
The feeling in his hand returns too, and itâs clasped around someone else's. Theirs is also warm, light and fits much better in his, though heâs not quite sure what heâs comparing it to.
The front of his body is warmer than the back as heâs pressed up against someone, swaying with them in a slow dance that would never have worked in the middle of Three Broomsticks. It flows with his soul.
At last, Remus can hear again, as if coming up from water. He hears that it was not him humming, but rather a soft figure tucked under his chin, humming the vibrations of the melody against the side of his neck.
When he tightens his arms instinctively, he does not need to open his eyes to know it is you.
He does anyway, looking down at you, standing in his arms, swaying together in an empty Gryffindor common room. There is a lazy smile on your lips as you look up at him, cheek against his chest, eyes twinkling like the starlight.
Remus feels right. Remus feels good. His thoughts are honey, sweet but slow, coating over any coherent reactions he might have to standing here with you like this. He escaped and he is with you and all is right once more.
Have you danced like this before? Did it feel like this then?
You seem unpuzzled, relaxed. The warmth settles in Remus for good.
âHey handsome,â you whispered, as if you were sharing a secret with him before angling your face more up towards his.
Remus is not in charge of his body when his neck dips down and lets his lips meet yours halfway, casual and expectantly, a habit as much as a wish. You taste like yourself. You smell like yourself. Remus is surrounded by you, cornered by your smile against his lips.
You pull back all too quickly, furrowing your brows at him. Dream-Remus has no hesitation of removing the hand from around your back to thumb at the furrow, brushing away any negative thoughts from you. He kisses the spot between your eyebrows.
Everything is right.
When his eyes meet yours again, the concerned look in them has not changed. You reach a tentative hand up to his cheek, thumb swiping over his cheekbone as you hold him with what he irrevocably knows to be love.Â
âItâs time to wake up, cariad,â you said with a small sad smile.
The last thing Remus remembers is the feeling of the floor disappearing beneath him.
Remus sat up with a gasp, and for a rare moment in time he was speechless.
He was not a stranger to invasive, questionable or downright spiritual dreams, a side effect of both his connection with the moon and the tons of potions he has taken over the years. Usually, he is present in his dreams and acts as his own little commentator during and after them, narrating what happens and what he thinks of it.
It was not uncommon for him to think âI think I will remember this oneâ as the final thought in a dream. Or when he wakes up in tears, his first thought was often âthat was a bit dramatic of you, calm downâ.
Now, he had nothing. Now, he was speechless.
Worse yet, usually when he wakes up with a jolt, it is in the middle of the night â but now, as his senses began to trickle back in, he could hear the commotion around him that only could mean the boys are at various stages in the process of getting ready.
Remus Lupin had just had a life-altering, earth-shattering dream, and James Fleamont Potter was repeatedly knocking his knee into his nightstand as he jumped around while tying his shoes on, instead of sitting down to do it like a normal person would.
He thought James was saying something, and maybe even to Remus specifically, but he could still hear the blood rushing through his head. Beneath that again, he could hear your humming.Â
With a groan, Remus let himself topple over from his sitting position to land face-first into his duvet.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. What the fuck?
âOi!â Remus finally heard, as what felt like a rolled up pair of socks hit his head. âWhat in Godrickâs name has gotten into you, mate? You good?â It was Sirius voice calling, seemingly from across the room.
Remus just groaned in reply. His eyes were wide open as he stared directly into his sheets, feeling both freezing cold and like his brain was slowed by a fever.
âYou okay, Moons?â Peterâs voice came gentler from beside him. Remus thought his hand might be hovering near him, as if he was considering consolingly patting him but was unsure if he should.
Another groan.
âOkay, what about this: groan once if this is Moony mooning over something and twice if youâre in actual crisis,â James suggested, not unkindly.
A singular groan, though it sure did feel like two.
âGroan once if youâre a prick and twice if youâre insufferable,â Sirius felt the need to comment.
Instead of making any further sounds, Remus wrangled his arm from beneath the blanket to show Sirius how he felt about him in the moment with a gesture.
âFantastic!â James exclaimed. âYou have class in 35 minutes, Moons, and breakfast now, so best get a move on.â Remus heard the telltale sound of James leaving â as in, Jamesâ heavy footsteps moving across the floor and Sirius scrambling like a dog to follow after him. At the complete lack of sounds in the rooms after that, he assumed Peter moused after them as well.
At last Remus sat up with a sigh and stared emptily in front of him, mind moving too fast for him to catch a thought but too slow for him to properly process anything.
What does this mean?Â
Except Remus could no longer deny that he knew what it meant. That the instant your humming caressed his ears, he knew what it meant. That his subconsciousness wanted to replace a girl who saw him as a romantic prospect in a place Remus felt queasy in with you in a place he considered home. That is no coincidence.
And that when you kissed himâ
Except you did not kiss him. Remus shook his head at that, as if the thoughts could just tumble out of his ears. You did not kiss him and he did not kiss you. Because this was a dream, it was not real and Remus must just be really, really unwell.
He felt unwell, but not in the way he was trying to convince himself.
Taking one deep breath, Remus looked to the awning of their little dormitory and shot out a silent prayer for any higher power to listen.
Put me back together, I cannot fall apart like this.
Bury this back down deep, I cannot feel like this.
It was going to be a long day.
âââ ââ

â âââ
By the time Remus had made it to the entryway to the Great Hall, feeling frazzled and less put together than he had an excuse to, he saw his group of friends making their way out.
âRem!â It was you who caught sight of him first, and immediately beelined towards him, the others following closely behind, wearing varying degrees of concern and confusion as they looked him up and down.
Your face was by far the most concerned, as you immediately brought your left hand up to cup his cheek. âAre you alright, cariad?â
For the first time in your almost two decades of friendship, Remus was painfully aware of your physical proximity.
He always knew, of course, but it never really registered with him â it was completely natural. Right now, nothing about him felt natural. You stood flush with him and he felt you against him like a fire, skin singeing beneath his clothes. Your eyes seemed so big looking into his that he could get lost in them, his only internal monologue being a dreamy sigh and a long string of curse words at the absolute madhouse chaos that his mind was becoming. As he looked at you, it was like he could see his version of you from his dream as well, how you looked at him with so much love and admiration, how your lips inched closer to his.
âMate?â Remus realised then, that he had been staring at you for far too long, not answering your question, to the point where James had to try to catch his attention.
âIâ uh,â Remus sputtered, eyes flickering wildly all over your face, panic rising in his chest as he realised he could not think clearly with you so close.
He took a step back without thinking, just barely out of your grasp but still close, and shook his head. âSorry, yeah, no, yes, I just feel a bit⊠off today.â
The furrow between your brows deepend, and once more his mind flashed back to his dream. His hand twitched. It seemed like you werenât even aware of it when you took a step closer, to be back by his side, reaching your wrist up to place it on his forehead to feel his temperature. âYouâre feeling poorly?â you whispered so quietly and so lovingly Remus thought he might faint.
Was it always like this? It was always like this. Why was he freaking out about it then? He was freaking out. What the fuck was wrong with him?
With horror, Remus realised that a slight blush was creeping up his neck, and he fought hell to keep it down as he cleared his throat. âJust a little, uh, dove, itâs nothing to worry about.â
âDo you want to go lay down?â You began what he knew would be a string of suggestions for things to do to make him feel better, and he could not stand watching you be so concerned when he was lying to you.
Almost like a flinch, he pulled back out of your arms â properly this time, taking several strides backwards away from the group. It barely registered with him that James and Sirius were looking at him with some confused amusement while Lily looked sympathetic.
âI, erm, will be fine, yeah? Nothing to worry about.â Without properly looking, he reached an arm out to grab Peter by the shoulder and all but manhandled him to his side. âPeter and I have Herbology now, but uh, Iâll catch you later?â
Remus hated how everything he said sounded like a question, like he was running a lie by you for you to confirm if it was believable. Remus hated that he couldnât tear his gaze away from your face for more than a few seconds and most of all he hated that he was spiraling under the weight of your gaze in turn. A horrible combination.
âTake care, Rem,â you whispered as he all but ran away from you, hauling Peter along.
You stood looking after him for a moment, only turning your head when you felt Lilyâs reassuring hand on your shoulder to find a small smile on her face.
âWhat in the buggering hell was that?â Sirius questioned, looking mostly at you for an answer.
âI donât know,â you said, honestly. Had you known, you might still not have told him, though, if you thought Remus wouldnât want you to. âI usually always know about his moods before they come, but this has me stumped,â you murmured, mostly to yourself.
âHe woke up weirdly,â James mused, rubbing his hand across his chin. âI guess weâll just see where the day goes, yeah?â
The four of you nodded at each other, but you still gnawed on your lip in concern, glancing over your shoulder to where he disappeared.Â
Whatever it was, you hoped he would come talk with you about it when he was ready.

Remus only had one hour to compose himself during Herbology before he had Charms with you. Sharing most of his classes with you was something he had always considered a blessing, and while that sentiment would likely never fade, it was also causing him some distress as he almost toppled the work desk with his jittering.
Peter didnât question him, but Remusâ obvious nerves were apparently contagious for the anxious boy who jittered right along with him, casting him the occasional glance.
Letting his elbows fall heavily on the desk, Remus put his head in his hands and ignored the instructions Professor Sprout was walking them through â he would let Peter pick up the slack for once and then subsequently accept the lower marks. Right now, Remus had to think and get his shit together.
He breathed his way through some panic exercises and pictured you in his mind. It almost brought a smile to his lips in an instant and for the first time, he let the realisation of how irrevocably wrecked for you he was.
Has it always been like this? Why have I never put this into words before? How can I revert back?
In that moment, Remus decided two things. Firstly, there was no possibility of you returning his feelings nor would he ever expect you to. It was true that you accepted and loved him in a way he never could quite believe himself deserving of, but that in itself is testament that it couldnât be any more. What you gave him was already too much, it would be unthinkable for you to harbour even deeper feelings for him.
Second, and most importantly, he could not lose you. Remus has made many mistakes in his time, but he could not live with himself if he lost you. It would be too much. Because regardless of the fact that he now knew he wasâ that he now knew what he knew, the friendship between you was the most important thing. It was Remus and Y/N, right?
He could not be weird and sputtering, he could not make you uncomfortable. Meaning, he could not withdraw from you despite his instinct to run and hide. Shame burned within him at the thought that even if he could withdraw he didnât know if he could fight his want not to. You were muscle memory.
Remus opened his eyes and slowly dragged his palms down his face in resolution. He would have to act as if nothing was wrong, and he would have to lie through his bloody teeth to explain away whatever bodily reactions he has.
If he starts stammering, he will have to shut up and lie that he is tired. If he becomes an embarrassing shade of auburn, he will have to cough and lie that he might be coming down with a fever. If he shakes, it is because of lack of sleep. If he, Merlin forbids, cries, he will have to claim he must be coming down with some odd moonsickness. You will surely follow him to Madam Pomfrey and maybe it will be easier when youâre alone.
Or maybe it will be worse.
No matter which it was, Remus would have to soldier it, for your sake. You did not deserve his imposing infatuation, but you also did not deserve to lose what you thought to be a loyal friend.
When him and Peter packed up the barely-used desk and mumbled a goodbye to a disapproving Sprout in the door, Remus made it his mission to focus on his breathing again as he almost ran down the hallways to where your friend group always met up outside the Charms classroom.
Be normal, be normal, be normal.
Your eyes found him the second he rounded the final corner, almost as if you had been watching it, waiting for him. A beautiful smile lit up on your face as soon as you saw him, albeit a bit dampened by the worry in your eyes â he simultaneously wanted desperately to soothe you while also berating himself for it being there. His fault.
âHey dovey.â He forced his words to be casual, his smile to be measured as he strode up beside you.Â
This is where he is supposed to drag you into a sideways hug, squeezing your hips while dropping a kiss on the top of your head, causing Sirius to make some quip about âyou were literally just gone an hour. He stood beside you perhaps a beat too long before he began to do so with shaking hands, and he felt your burning look as you studied him. Remus made it all the way up to where he would kiss your head before he chickened out due to the tornado screaming in his stomach.
âHi, Rem,â you all but whispered, your words just for him. You opened your mouth to say more, but he was afraid of what it would be.
âWaited long?â he asked to distract you from it.
âNah,â you said and leaned further into his side. âBut Iâm glad youâre here now. Howâre you feeling?â
At that, he saw Peter, Sirius, James and Lily â who had been stuck in their own little world â look up and try to hear what he has to say. Remus crumbled under their watchful gazes, knowing they knew him well enough to pick apart his every little reaction. He cleared his throat.
âI donât really know,â he settled for. âMy headâs murky, didnât sleep well.â
You made a soft cooing sound and started rubbing circles on the side of his hip from where your arms were circled around him. It knocked a wave of dizziness into him that made him want to take a step back to lean against the cold stone wall behind you. In replacement he settled for holding onto you tighter; it only made it worse.
âAre you sure you donât want to go lay down? Merlin knows we wonât be missing out on anything with the way Flitwick rambles away any sense he might have.â
This is where Remus would laugh heartily at your obvious disdain for the professor that he never truly understood. Instead, his mind zeroed in on one word you said.
We. We, we, we, we.
Circeâs tits, did he want to take you up on that.
He swallowed, acutely aware that you must have heard the sound when stood so close to him, though you didnât give away any reaction. To buy himself a moment to collect his thoughts, Remus finally dared tilt his chin downwards to kiss the top of your head. It might have been too slow, too tentative, but his heart was beating so fast the rest of his body felt too slowed down in comparison. He hoped you thought the kiss was a thank you for caring and not the nervous stall it was. He hoped he wouldnât be eternally damned for breathing in the scent of you.
âIâm quite alright, dove,â he murmured instead, furiously avoiding the surely questioning gazes of his other friends. âThank you, though.â
You grumbled some but didnât push him on it. He silently thanked you for that, too.
His throat was too parched to partake in the silent banter amongst his friends as you walked into Charms, too focused on where your bodies brushed as you walked, too deafened by the sound of your laughter.
You sat down in your regular spots, you and Remus side by side in the front, with Sirius and James behind you and Lily and Mary to your right. This was normal, this was alright. Flitwick droned on about the theoretics and debates around the charms you learned last lesson, it went in one ear and out the other.
Absentmindedly, you had grabbed Remusâ hand lightly between yours and were tracing soothing circles along his wrist and palm. You meant so well, and this would have cured likely any other ailment Remus struggled with, but right now there were fireworks going off in his head.
Taking advantage of the notice Dumbledore had given all of his professors to not call Remus out on sleeping in class, he folded his arms and laid his head down on them, carefully not to take his hand away from you. If he could shield his face, he could probably talk himself down before class ended.
In the solitude of his arms, he could picture it was just the two of you, sitting in the treehouse you built between your houses as children. If he focused enough, he could smell the apples that grew around him and feel the rough wood beneath his stomach. There, your hand would still be in his, maybe even your cheek on his chest, and it would be alright. It would all be alright because it was just you, and Remus could play dumb and he would never have to realise his feelings and fuck himself over.
It almost worked. Until he was interrupted.
âPsst! L/N?â The whisper was laced with a laughter Remus knew too well and did not care for.
You clearly ignored it â Remus could practically see the eye roll you surely threw his way â but that wasnât enough to stop his theatrics.
âL/N!â Barty called once more from a couple seats behind you to your right, voice threatening to alert Flitwick to your inattention. âWhatâs wrong with your dog?â
âWhat?â you whispered back in equal parts confusion and irritation.
âYour puppy, Lupin,â Barty said, as if it was obvious. Unfortunately, Remus could picture his eye roll too, though his stomach was turning for a wholly different reason. âWhatâs wrong with it?â
âRemus is quite alright, Junior,â you hissed back, hand tightening on Remusâ at the same time as he loosened it. âAnd donât call him a dog.â
Remus slowly lifted his head from his arms and took back his hands to wipe harshly at his face, still not looking towards Junior who barked a low laugh.
âFollows you around like one. Wouldnât surprise me if you had some invisible leash going onââ Barty quipped, cutting himself off before you could respond and turning to Evan Rosier sitting beside him. âOooooh, an invisible leash is a marvellous idea, Rosie.â
It was clear you had lost his attention, but Remusâ face still burned painfully as he shifted in his seat. With a harrumphing sound, you turned to look at him. He didnât meet your eye, couldnât.
âIgnore him.â Remus always marvelled at how you manage to convey your frustration and care at the same time.
He just hummed in the affirmative, still wiping a bit harshly at his face. If he treated it harshly enough, could he blame his violent flush on it?
âCariad,â you mumbled, gently taking his hands away from his face, clearly spotting his efforts.
He saw your furrowed eyebrows looking at him, and that was the end of what he could take for the lesson. As you opened your mouth, surely to inquire about how he is, like the beautifully kind person he knows you to be, he pushed his chair backwards.
âI think I should probably listen to you and go lay down, dove,â he murmured, avoiding your gaze. Before you could shoot in and say you would come with him, he continued. âCan you please take notes for me in Transfiguration after this?âÂ
An indirect rejection, a plea for isolation. He didnât look at your face as he gathered his things, waiting for you to respond instead.
âSure, if thatâs what you want,â you said carefully.
What I want is you.
âYes, please.â Taking a deep breath, he leaned forward and pressed a parting goodbye kiss to your cheek, tradition. âThank you, love.â
Then he was sneaking his way out around the desks, barely catching a murmured voice he knew to be Siriusâ, likely leaning forward to ask you about him. His lips singed.

Remus hid away in his room for two hours, actually being truthful and trying to get a nap in. The dorm room felt serendipitous, being swept up in rare silence and a grace of darkness as he trickled in and out of consciousness. If he dreamed more of you, he would not admit it.
Any semblance of reprieve he might have chased down was ripped away from him by the creaking of the door and the wall of sound that followed his three favourite boys who always got on his last three nerves.
âOi, Moons!â Sirius exclaimed, far too cheerily. âYou know the rules!â
Remus propped his head up on his elbow from where he was sprawled on his stomach, looking blearily at the three figures as they situated themselves within the dorm. âThe rule to not wake a sleeping sod? Yes, Iâm the only one who knows that rule it seems.â
Sirius took off his sweater as he discarded his uniform and used it to swat at Remus. âNope! No wallowing on your own. Sharing is caring.â
ââM not wallowing,â Remus grumbled as he let his head fall back into his pillow.
Letting his guard down was undoubtedly a mistake because the second Sirius was out of sight, he had the audacity to jump into Remusâ bed, nearly flinging him off from the impact. Both Sirius and James were laughing boisterously as Sirius collapsed on top of Remus and ruffled his hair when he tried to shove him off. âNot anymore, no, we wonât let you.âÂ
Remus hated that he loved them.
âPrecisely,â James added as he pointed at Remus from where he was changing into his non-uniform clothes as well. âSo either speak your mind or perk up, buttercup.â
Remus groaned but let Sirius drag him up into a sitting position. âCan a poor lycanthrope not have one off day without you lot getting your knickers in a twist?â Despite his best efforts, there was no ire in his voice.
âNope!â James said, popping the p. âNot on our watch.â
âLife is simply miserable without our Moony,â Sirius said, clutching his chest as if he was ailing. âAnd do you have any idea how weird it is to see your sweetheart without you by her side? Itâs like watching a cut up picture.â
All humour that had been creeping into Remusâ expression was washed away in and instant as he swallowed harshly, suddenly averting his gaze from Sirius. Instead, James caught it, who looked at him with big eyes behind his glasses, cocking his head to the side. He looked far too much like the stag he is, before his mouth opened in a small gasp. âOh,â he whispered softly.
Remusâ heart was beating painfully hard at the look of realisation that crossed his face, turning back to Sirius who had a similar knowing, almost pitying look in his eyes. No, no, no, no.
âIâll be fine, you, erm, wonât have to live without me much longer,â Remus tried to volley back, just a few seconds too late, tongue feeling heavy at being found out.
If his best mates could see through him that quickly, then you probably already had. He had half a mind to take you up to the Astronomy Tower like old times, so he could apologise and then jump off as an act of redemption.
Sirius gave his shoulder a rough squeeze, shaking him a little as if he knew what was going through his mind. âFantastic. Then youâll join us for our free periods, yeah? And the party later tonight?â
Still somewhat sputtering, Remusâ eyes widened to an extent he was sure was comedic. âThe paâ the party?â
James smiled at him. âYeah, Moons. Gryffindor half-term party? That we have talked about all week?â
âMerlin, maybe Pomfrey needs to go easy on the potions she gives you,â Sirius teased, getting up to finish changing.
âOr she could give me more,â Remus whispered hopefully, earning him a round of chuckles.Â
âYouâll be fine, Rem,â James said, with an undertone Remus did not care for. âIf youâre still feeling⊠off throughout the day and night, you can always snuggle up with a book and ignore us hooligans.â Then, almost as if he was testing the waters. âIâm sure Y/N would love to join you.â
Remus didnât deign any of that with a response, but he suddenly thought he should get out of his bed so his face didnât seem so red in contrast with the white sheets.
âI have some essays to knock out, so yeah, Iâll join you to study,â Remus relented. He opened his own trunk to get changed, but decided to half-ass it and just take off his tie and replace his uniform wool with one of his own patterned jumpers.
âAnd for the party later!â Sirius corrected, ensuring Remus didnât think he could back out.
âSure, sure.â He ruffled his own hair so it was Remus-messy and not Sirius-messed-up-my-hair-messy. âLetâs just go.â
âââ ââ

â âââ
Considering the extent to which he could fuck this up for himself, Remus reckoned he had been doing fairly good keeping his shit together throughout the day.
If he mentally cursed more than normal, contemplated the murder of each one of his friends including himself and generally couldnât breathe, well, that was merely part of it.
The whole lot had shacked up in the library for the triple free periods you had back to back on Fridays. While you doted concernedly over him for the first thirty minutes, you eased up once you seemed to decide that this wasnât Remus shoving down some lycanthropy-struggles and avoiding support and help.Â
As always, the two of you sat in the love seat, your legs sprawled over his lap as you read through your textbooks in the oddest positions. This was usually something he might chide you for â âyour neck will hurt if you hang over the edge like that, loveâ â but today he buried his face into his textbooks with all his might to not seem like he was aware of your body. He was, of course, you burned over his skin and lit up his heart, and Circeâs tits was he the stupidest sod in the whole castle.
Nonetheless, he made it through all three hours, engaging in comforting banter and low laughs with his best mates. When you teamed up with him to mess with Sirius, he at least knew that you werenât upset with him in any way, even though he was being a lunatic today, even though he most definitely would have deserved it.
What Remus knew would be his breaking point was the Gryffindor party.
It was a laid back event, a party thrown for all of Gryffindor, though it was mostly the upper years who were encouraged to attend. They arranged it halfway through every term to celebrate making it through and engaging with each other. Meaning, most people didnât get shitfaced but there was some good bubbling energy maintained throughout the whole night.
You and Remus had a tradition for how you dealt with parties â just as you had a tradition for pretty much everything, he had come to notice. Gods, he lovâ Stop it.
Neither one of you were necessarily fond of large crowds, but you both were incredibly loyal and fond of your friends and wanted to spend time with them. Thus, you attended the parties, but you always did so together. The more uncomfortable you got, the closer you would get to each other, and if one ever needed a break, they would tap the other three times and they would make up an excuse to usher them out of there.
It had never felt so unnerving to be so known.
Throughout the whole party he had been jittery, head rushing with thoughts. He desperately tried not to take in your outfit and then he desperately tried not to read into it when you seemed disappointed he didnât compliment you for it like he usually did. Why did he have to be such a sweet best friend normally? Remus canât keep up with himself.
It did not help him in the slightest that others around the party seemed to focus on your outfit much more openly than he could dare. It made him gravitate even closer to you, tighten his hand on his hip, momentarily rest his chin on the top of your head â and then his actions made him want to kick himself. Possessiveness was the last thing he could be engaging with when he was already betraying you in such a manner.Â
Leave it to Remus to fuck up something beautiful.
To say you didnât seem to notice that he was troubled would be taking it too far, but at least you didnât seem to notice why. You kept him close to your side and would at random points stroke his back soothingly. He wondered if you just thought he was uncomfortable with the party.
You were chatting with Pandora by the drinks table when Barty and Evan strolled up to you both with cheshire cat grins.
âThere he is, back on his leash,â Junior said through a menacing laugh, ignoring Evanâs slight elbow to his side. âFeeling better, darling?â
âWhat brings you to the lions' den, Junior?â Remus asked carefully to divert the topic.
âWell. Y/Nâs going so Pandoraâs going so Evanâs going, and thusââ he did a small flourishing spin ââ Iâm going.â
âYouâre impossible,â Evan murmured, while Pandora just smiled happily.Â
âIs he feeling better, then?â Barty asked once more, this time looking at you.
âNo, actually,â you said with a small smile Remus knew not to be genuine. âHe is absolutely devastated youâre not in the Slytherin common room right now. He had big plans for you there, you know.â
Remus tried to choke down his laugh as Barty looked torn between glee and irritation. Somehow he made both work. âSorry to soil your plans then, Lupin. Better luck next time.â
Then he stalked off in almost a hurry and Remus couldnât help but hope he was going to Slytherin to check if you were telling the truth.Â
He looked down at where you were standing beside him and squeezed your shoulder lightly. âYou really are a minx,â he whispered conspiratorially.
That turned out to be his undoing. You turned your head to the side to look up at him with mirth playing around in your enamouring eyes, a soft tilt to the corner of your mouth. And your face was oh so painfully close to his.
Remus became acutely aware that he could easily lean in and catch your smile with his. That the air he was breathing had been close to you in some of the only ways he had not yet. That he must look like your boyfriend when youâre standing essentially pressed up against each other like this.
That he most certainly has been looking at your lips for far too long.
When he flicks his gaze back up, he sees a slight furrow between your brows again as you seem to take in his reaction, and suddenly he goes from having butterflies in his stomach to needing to throw them all up. He took a sudden staggering step backwards, almost crashing into James who was engaging in some animated discussion with Marlene.
âI, uh,â Remus said and dear Godrick he was stammering. âIâll get us some drinks and we can sit down, yeah?â He didnât wait for you to respond, instead spinning his back to you and hoping you pick up conversation with Pandora again.
Breathe in. Breathe out. Donât be a bloody arse.
He hoped he had steadied himself enough by the time he plopped down in his favourite grandfather chair near the fire. He placed both of your drinks on the table in front of him, vowing to touch his as minimally as possible to make sure he keeps whatever wits he has left with him.
A dumb smile takes over his face as his breathing quickens when he sees you make your way over to the seating area, after having listened to his desperate silent plea and finished your conversation with Pandora. Pushing his luck, he shoots another silent prayer that it will be smooth sailing from here, which is apparently promptly ignored as you happily sit down in his lap.
Fuck.
This, he reminds himself, is also normal for the two of you. Especially at parties, especially if you have reason to believe he is unsteady in any sense of the word, which he most certainly has given you plenty of reason to believe.Â
You give him some form of greeting he canât quite catch and isnât sure if he reciprocated as you settle down, putting majority of your weight on his right thigh as you lean your body sideways against his. One of your arms snuck around his shoulders, fingers winding up playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, while the other is stabilising yourself on his knee. Majority of your close friends had followed your lead by sitting down in the small gathering, chattering amongst themselves. He was half-aware that you were rambling on about something to him, something he probably really wanted to listen to, but it felt like his head was underwater.
Unsure of what else to do, he lowered his face into your shoulder and took deep breaths there.
You seemed wholly unbothered, fingers continuing in his hair as your soothing voice carried him through what he feared might become a panic attack. He was almost there, when the cocoon you two had in your chair was burst by the presence of your other friends.
âYou alright there, Moons? Youâre not going to go all vampire on poor Y/N?â Siriusâ tone was lighthearted and teasing, but Remus felt as if he might actually die.
âOh, heâs quite alright,â you answered for him with a smile before he could embarrass himself, immediately switching over to engage in conversation with the friends sitting closest to you. Your hand on his knee squeezed reassuringly.
Fuck, how could he not love you?
He loved you.
Remus almost had to fight crying as he hid in the crook of his neck, overwhelmed by his own emotions and the surely watchful gazes of those around him â the latter of which was why he couldnât.Â
With a deep breath he let his desire win for just one second and pressed a soft kiss to your shoulder before emerging from his hiding place. He shifted you carefully to be more comfortable, so that your back was against him and he could rest his head on the shoulder he just kissed.
He did fairly good, partaking in conversation, engaging with the others, albeit more quietly and less than usual. He laughed and he smiled and you were so soft against him, as if you had melted. Remus was in heaven while being tortured.
Marlene wolf whistled quietly from where she was sat on the floor, eyeing Remus with mirth. Though he still did not know why, he was already turning red, the tips of his ears burning.
âHi, Remmy.â He heard the soft voice say beside him and he turned his head to see Emmeline giving him a somewhat sly smile. âThe dance floorâs picking up. Want to go for another round?â
Remusâ stomach churned. Emmeline was such a sweet girl and he never could say no to her, the only thing that felt worse than the embarrassment from his friendsâ teasing was the thought of embarrassing her â though Remus was sure even thinking like that made him into an even bigger arse.
Sirius and James had told him multiple times that he could say no. As had you, reminding him how important it was to have boundaries, even while you were sitting practically on top of him at the time. He just could never bring himself to.
Yet his mouth seemed to move on its own accord before he could think, arms tightening around you. âNo, not tonight Emmeline, sorry. Knock yourself out, though.â He tried to give her a warm smile, but his movements seemed to be outside of his control at the moment, breath sucked from his lungs.
He realised with a sting that he should have given her more credit all along when she beams back at him. âNo worries, enjoy your night!â she cheered before twirling towards the dance floor herself.
Remus let out a shaky breath and turned to his friends who were almost staring him down. Jamesâ mouth was even open in shock, which he thought was a bit dramatic.
âHold on, what just happened?â Sirius guffawed. âHas our little Moony learned to say no?â
Remus flushed even further. âShut up, Pads.â
âDonât think I will,â his mate replied with a wolfish grin turning to look to the others for support. âNever thought Iâd see the day.â
âWhatâs inspired this change in you?â Mary asked thoughtfully, propping her head into her hands as if she was settling in for a lengthy response.
All eyes were back on Remus and he felt like the mask he had been clinging to all day was crumbling. The nerves that shot through him like lightning now was not his usual humiliation from being in a charged spotlight â no, this was fear. Genuine fear that if he didnât get his head screwed back on within two seconds, he might say something too revealing, or his face would do it without him having to open his mouth. That his fiery ears would somehow spell out I am in love with my very best friend and I realised it too late and am making it everybody elseâs problem. He had no idea what to do.
In his time of despair, with Maryâs big eyes staring up at him, Marlene and Lily already snickering between them and Sirius raising an expecting brow, his instincts knew of only one way out.
His finger on your hip lifted. Tap, tap, tap.
Almost as if a switch had gone off, you made a soft gasp and turned to look at him in his lap. âGods, Rem, speaking of Emmeline, I totally forgot our gift for Sirius in my dorm room in Ravenclaw!â you exclaimed, putting your all into the act. Your excuse seemed to be a good one as Siriusâ head immediately picked up, not unlike that of a dogâs if you said the word âtreatâ around them. âWe have to go get it before the partyâs over.â
You elegantly hopped up and out of his lap, dragging him behind him with a grip on his elbow. Remus stumbled and scrambled behind you, tossing a sorry donât know what thatâs about look to the others over his shoulder. He barely caught sight of what he could only classify as a knowing exchange of smiles between James and Lily.
Before he could truly process your rescue mission, he was standing outside in the cool hallway breathing heavily, portrait closed behind him.Â
Before him, you stood with your hands on your hips, scanning his face thoroughly, making him almost cower beneath your gaze. You seemed to make up your mind about something as you took his hand once more and walked with him down the hall in silence, rounding the corners until you reached one of the deep windowsills, the kind the two of you would always sit in and read.Â
You jumped to lift yourself into it and once you were sat with one hand on each side of your body, you levelled him with a look.
âOkay, spill,â you said, directly but not unkindly. âWhat is going on with you?â
Remus did not think this through. He needed help and so he called upon you for it like he always does, not thinking to consider that that might very well make this worse for him.
âItâsâŠâ he began, picking at straws in his mind for an excuse. âItâs nothing, dove. Really.âÂ
âWhenâs my birthday?â you asked then, to his surprise. He furrowed his brows at you and told you the date. You smiled a bit smugly. âExactly. So you know I wasnât born yesterday.â
He genuinely laughed at that, even if it was at his expense. He let his body do as it wished and took a small step closer to you. Not enough for your bodies to touch, but enough to feel like he was in your space. Safe, even in his panic.
âRemus,â you said softly, painfully gently. You rarely used his first name, and now when you did, it was laced with an undertone he couldnât stomach. It was beginning to sound a bit like hurt. âWhat is going on with you? Why⊠why are you acting this way towards me?â
Because you are the one thing I have never had to question and now Iâm questioning everything. Because Iâm a bloody prick who has one dream and ruins his life over it. Because my mind is running a mile a minute and your lips feel like magnets and I swear I am losing control in a way I only do during full moons.
âI donât know what to do,â he ended up whimpering quietly, cowardly.
You looked around the hallway as if the answer would be written on any of the walls and moved your arms slightly to gesture around you. âAbout what? I canât help you unless I know what it is, cariad.â
He scrunched his face for a moment, looking away from you. âCan we not do this? Itâs nothing you can fix, dove.â
You seemed to grow even more confused at that, almost frustrated. âWhy not?â He realised then that the two of you had always helped each other through everything. Being locked out must hurt. He wanted to kick himself, but he didn't know what else to do. âWhatâs wrong, Remus, please I justââ
Remus is besieged by the power of someone much more reckless, driven by desire to alleviate you of your confusion and him of his pain.
He cut you off with a kiss.
He took a large stride forward to slot himself in between your thighs, eliminating the space between you within a second, bringing both hands up to cup the sides of your face and bring it towards him. His eyes were shut tightly, furrow in his brows as his lips all but smashed against yours in a kiss that felt sacrificially sacred. Your lips are just as soft as in his dream, as is the small gasp that escapes you as you tense in his grasp.
Remus has never felt better and he has never felt worse.
The kiss lasts for about 10 seconds before he pulls away in even more of a flurry. His hands lost their grip on you first, hovering over your cheeks briefly, as if considering going back in before thinking better of it. He still had you captured in the kiss, hanging on to it for as long as he could deign himself, knowing it was his last opportunity to do so, all the while kicking himself over it.
Backing away, he put double the distance between you. He felt drunk, stumbling slightly as he all but scrambled away, a stinging sensation behind his eyes.
âIâm so sorry, I don't know why I did that. I didnât mean to,â he breathed out, reeling at his own impulsivity. âThat,â he said through a shaking voice as he looked anywhere but your face, âis my problem, and Y/N, I am so, so sorry. Iâm so sorry.â
For the shortest second, he lets his eyes flicker quickly over your face before rushing back to stare at a statue on the wall beside you. Your face was blank, eyes wide. Your fingers were barely touching the lips he had just enclosed in his own.
You must be disgusted. You must be horrified. You must feel violated and Remus wanted nothing more than to disappear from the face of the earth and rid you of this undying problem.
He was every bit the beast you had tried to convince him he wasnât.
âWhyâŠâ you began, voice but a whisper, before you trailed off.
Remus had to shut his eyes at that, tilting his head slightly to the side. If he breathed through his nose, he might not cry. He was sitting before the highest court he knew, and you were about to ask him to explain himself.
âWhy are you sorry?â
The words floored him a little, enough to make his eyes snap open and land back on your face. You looked deeply concerned, brows tilted upwards as you seemed to take his face in. âRemus,â you whispered now that you finally had his eyes on you. âWhy are you sorry?â
He shook his head in confusion, feeling every bit like the boy he was. âI shouldnât have done that.â It was all he could get out through his hoarse voice. He also had no idea how to answer that question in a satisfactory way.
You took in a short sharp breath and then lowered yourself onto the ground to stand before him. With your hands held out in front of you, almost as if you were ready to lunge out and catch him if he was to run â an idea that was becoming increasingly enticing to him â you took a small step towards him. âWhy?â There was a growing spark in your eye, dimmed only by your worried frown.
âY/N.â He didnât know what else to say, eyes trained on you.
âCariad,â you replied in the same tone, and a tear slipped down his left cheek. You took another measured step towards him, enough to reach out for him if you wanted to â but of course, you wouldnât want to, not anymore. âItâs alright.â
He felt dizzy at the lack of the scolding or disgust he had braced himself for, realising how stupid he was for even fearing that from you. No, you would reject him sweetly and kindly, and his heart would never be mended from it. That felt worse, somehow.
âItâs not,â he whispered. âPlease donât say it is.â
You smiled ruefully and took another small step towards him. He could feel the warmth eminating from you. Tentatively, you reached up a hand to wipe at the tear still sitting on his left cheek. He held his breath and fought the urge to lean into your touch, but when you pressed your palm more firmly against his cheek, he couldnât anymore. A soft sigh escaped him and he let his eyes fall shut as your touch supported him. âIt is, my sweet boy,â you whispered with an urgency that almost convinced him. âRemus, can you answer me honestly?â
His body tensed once more as his eyes fluttered open to find yours, reverent. Most parts of him were still screaming at him to run away, to shut up, to do anything but this. His heart seemed to be in charge for the moment, though, and he nodded slowly. Trusting you with his world even as he felt like a traitor in yours.
âAll this, today⊠has it been because you have realised youâre⊠in love with me?â You seemed to be piecing it together as you said the words out loud, eyes carefully searching his face for his reaction.
Another tear slipped down his cheek, and you quickly caught it with your other thumb, both hands now cradling his face. âIâm so sorry,â he said once more.
âYouâre not allowed to be,â you whispered, giving him a half-smile, almost as if you were indulging him in a secret of yours. âPlease answer the question?â
It was now or never. âYes.â
To his utter surprise and deep-seated confusion, the smile on your face grew genuine, settling into the one he always searched for. He almost opened his mouth to question it before he was cut off.
No words can describe the sensations that bloomed in his chest, the butterflies that flitted in his stomach, when you used your hands on his face as leverage to pull him towards you for another kiss.
You kissed him. You kissed him. You were kissing.
His mind was threatening to take off like a rocket and captiulate, but his hands had never been more steady as they circled around your waist, splaying out over the small of your back as he dragged you closer. You sighed against him, smile still evident over your lips, and Remus dared â like the bastard he was â to mirror it.Â
You were warm against him, but wholly different than you had been in his dream. This felt distinctly real. And just as right.
When you pulled away, your hands had migrated to the back of his neck and you kept your forehead leaned against his. âGood,â you murmured with your eyes still closed. âBecause the feeling is mutual.â
He almost reared his head away from you, but managed to only pull back a few centimetres to stare at you in awe. Remus opened his mouth, but no words came out; he could find none intelligent enough to verbalise how utterly gobsmacked he felt.
You seemed to understand him just as well, going by your breathy laugh. There was still that spark in your eye, now shining brightly in the absence of your worry. Had the worry been for him?
âI know I donât say this enough, but you really are quite an idiot, arenât you?â you laughed and he slowly felt his heart start beating again.
âSpent too much time with Sirius and James, clearly,â he muttered, half expecting the joke to land flat and you to remember how disgusting he was. Instead, your laugh intensified and you leaned your body further against his. It emboldened him to ask, âWhat do you mean the feeling is mutual, dove?â
You let your arms glide further up, crossing behind his neck and over his shoulder, bringing him impossibly closer. âRemus John Lupin,â you whispered sincerely. âI am madly in love with you. Romantically. Genuinely. Any thoughts you have that explain that away are false and you mustn't listen to them. I thought you knew by now that Iâm always right.â
Even as the grin involuntarily established itself on his face, his eyes were shining with unshed tears. He looked at your face, truly studied it, and he could feel his mind ever so slowly calm down. âYou are.â
âWhat am I?â You were testing him, and he allowed it wholeheartedly.
âRight,â he confirmed. Albeit a bit more hesitantly, he knew better than not to add, âand⊠in love with me?â
âTwo points to Gryffindor.â You reached up to give his lips a soft peck. It felt so natural, like it was already habit for you. He desperately wanted it to be.
âIâm sorry, Iâm still reeling from this, dovey,â he confessed, trying to process everything.
There had never been any judgement to be found in your face. âWhich parts are you struggling with the most?âÂ
Your eyes were full of understanding, your face scrunched up in concentration. Remus indulged himself in an old habit by reaching up with one hand to thumb the furrows away. It made you smile just like he wanted it to, and gave him a minute to think. âI donât understand how I didnât get it before now. I donât understand how or why you put up with me. I donât understand how to keep all these feelings inside such a small heart.â
Your hands were stroking his back carefully as you considered his words. âWell, firstly I would argue your heart isnât small at all, though I get what you mean. Youâre not meant to keep all the feelings inside, you know? Thatâs when you get all sputtery and jittery and start avoiding your best friends.â You gave him a pointed look and he almost shied under your glance. âSharing them before you bubble over is always a good thing. Weâll work on it together. As for why I put up with you; I donât. Thereâs nothing to put up with, I just enjoy you like we always have.â
Your eyes had trailed off into the distance as you thought, but you brought them back to him with a small smile as you added the final part. âI donât know what did make you realise, so I canât help you much there. All I can say is, sometimes we donât see what is right in front of us.â
Remus nodded along to your words, feeling peace spreading within in that manner only you could inspire in him. He truly was an idiot, wasnât he? âHow long have you known?â he asked then, curiously.
âAbout you or me?â
âBoth?â His smile was becoming closer to his standard sheepish one, and you seemed to preen at the sight.
You bobbed your head side to side as you considered. âItâs hard to pinpoint an exact date â it wasnât an overnight discovery you know?â Remus did in fact not know nor relate. âBut I realised we were in love, not either oneâs feelings. It just sat calmly within me.â
âYou mean you didnât freak out to the extent where all students and professors alike were worried about you?â
He grinned at the small giggle that drew from you as you decidedly said, âNo. Definitely not.â You studied him for a minute more. âI think I realised about five months ago, but I didnât feel any real need to rush anything. It felt less like being given a to-do list and more like being revealed the plot twist in a movie before it happens, if you understand? The two best friends get together in the end, donât tell anyone.â
He ducked his head at that. While he could not relate, your explanation and experience was so wholeheartedly you that it endeared him to no end. âDoes that mean we should just ignore it for five more months orâŠ?â His grin turned cheeky as you lightly swatted his shoulder.
âNah,â you chuckled. âI reckon weâve waited long enough, yeah?â
He sighed with a smile. âYeah.â
You both leaned forward at the same time, as if to seal the deal with a kiss. Remus could feel it like electricity in the tips of his fingers, and he understood what you meant about knowing. Now that he was no longer in a constant state of panic, he felt incredibly calm about the whole ordeal.
Or maybe thatâs just how he feels around you.
âShould I ask you formally to be my girlfriend, or are we just skipping straight to marriage?â he whispered against your lips.
Remus felt almost wolfish when you barked a loud laugh, throwing your head back and tightening your hold on him instinctively. âI think girlfriendâs enough for now, yeah cariad?â
âIf you insist.â He kissed you through his grin, realising that this was all he wanted to do now.
Like he had so many times before, he tightened his arms around your waist and twirled you around in a few circles, legs flying out behind you. Except this time, your giggles were not hidden in his neck but pressed against his lips, and he tried to capture as many kisses as possible while he spun you.
When you landed with a breathless giggle, he kept one arm firmly around your waist as the two of you slowly made your way back to the Gryffindor common room. He wondered if maybe he could grab some blankets and bring you up to the Astronomy Tower so you could be alone without his friendsâ meddling. Yet, he wanted to see them as well, ready to volley back any quips about âtook you long enoughâ and âI fucking called itâ. Plus, you argued that you should prove that he was in fact alive and sane.
When he walked the halls back to the Gryffindor common room with your body against his, everything felt right. When you entered together, and everyone read what had happened written clearly across your faces, resorting to their usual hoots and hollers, arguably louder than ever before, it never stopped feeling right.Â
Remus being Remus, flushed deeply and averted his gaze, as he would continue doing under any uncalled for attention â but your arms squeezing him around the middle brought him right back down and your kiss to his shoulder soothed the burn of their gazes.
âWhatâs my gift then?â Sirius later asked salaciously as he eyed you two up and down where you cuddled together right back in the same chair, as if nothing changed. Maybe nothing really did.
You grinned widely and cleared your throat. âI honourably present to you,â you said and opened your arms towards Remus with a flourish. âA Moony who is no longer mooning.â
The little group erupted in even more cheers, celebrating the massive feat of taming their brooding boy. Remus couldnât help but laugh along, even at his own expense. His cheeks were red but it was equally due to the exertion of laughing as it was a tinge of embarrassment. When he hid his face into the crook of your neck again, he didnât feel nearly as guilty when he pressed a few kisses to the bare skin he found there â even less so when you melted against him with a sigh.
It felt as if a permanent smile had been sown onto his face where he sat, more content than he believed he had been while inside this castle.
Despite Remus Lupinâs disdain for public displays of affection, he had held you publicly many times before this. They all paled in comparison to the feeling of you in his arms now.Â
It had always been significant to him in its casualty, just as you have always been significant to him long before he had the mind to put the feeling into words. He will always treasure every moment of your existence in his orbit. Yet the way you melted into his skin now, growing roots in each one of his aching bones â no, nothing could compare to it.
Yes, Remus Lupin ailed from public displays of affection. But you were his cure.

summary: OWL's was truly getting to you but your favorite boys always know how to comfort you.
warnings: pure fluff: kissing, cutesy stuff, just teasing tension
--
OWL's was starting to feel like an understatement.
The late nights, the constant ignoring of everything around you, never quite living in the moment⊠yeah, understatement doesnât even begin to cover it.
But getting perfect marks wasnât a want, it was a need.
If you wanted to be an Auror, if you wanted Dumbledoreâs referenceâpassing OWLs with flying colors wasnât optional. It was a must.
And, unfortunately, everyone else around you seemed to be paying for it.
James had been trying to get you to play Quidditch with him for three days straight. He even promised to buy you that dress youâd been eyeing during your last trip to Hogsmeade. You appreciated the effort but didn't cave.
Not long after, Sirius had tried his own tacticâconvincing you to go skinny-dipping in the Black Lake. He even tried to seduce you.
It was worse than James' attempt if you were being honest.
Then Remusâwho was usually the one to encourage studyingâtried to get you to let him read to you, just so you could get some sleep.
And you wanted to. You really did. But you couldnât afford distractionsânot with the potions section of your notes still untouched.
So, they gave you space. Finally. Or so you thought.
âHi, my love,â Remus murmured, massaging your shoulders, pulling you from your thoughts. You grinned and leaned up to kiss him.
âHello,â you chirped, your focus still on scribbling notes.
âStill working hard?â He asked, but his voice was light, full of warmth.
You hummed, nodding in agreement. âWell, I have a surprise for you,â He said, his tone suddenly more serious.
You didnât really register what he said at first, still lost in your notes. But then, without warning, he gently turned you toward him.
âDarling, I need you to step away from your quill and paper for just a second,â He said, his gaze soft but earnest. You frowned.
âBut Remmy, I really need to finish this,â You protested.
He gave you a playful yet exhausted look. âI swear, itâll still be here. I just want you to see something.â
You sighed and reluctantly set the quill down, giving your notes one last sad look before following him as he gently took your hand and led you out of the library.
âWhat is this surprise?â You asked, your impatience creeping into your voice.
âYouâll see, my love,â He replied with a soft smile.
âBut I really need to study,â You rambled. âProfessor Turner is going to mark me down if I mess up the measurements for the ingredients. You know how picky she is.â
Remus chuckled, stopping to look at you with tender amusement. âI swear on Merlinâs beard, youâll pass. You just need to stop stressing about it so much.â
His hands cupped your face, and he kissed your forehead, making you smile despite yourself.
Soon, you found yourself in the outdoor grassy area, where you could see James and Sirius bickering about something. Remus led you over to a picnic blanket where the two were sitting.
âWhatâs going on here?â You asked, looking between them.
âWellâŠâ James began, standing up and making his way toward you. âWe thought you could use a little stress reliever after all that studying.â
He took your hands in his. âAnd we wanted to do something nice for you,â He added, a playful glint in his eyes.
You grinned. âThank you guys,â You said, feeling your heart warm at their thoughtfulness.
âWe had to, love,â Sirius chimed in, looking at you with a teasing smirk. âWe were worried your pretty little brain was going to overload.â
You giggled and sat down on the blanket next to Remus. The scent of fresh blueberry muffins wafted up, making your stomach rumble.
âI never knew you guys could bake,â You said, eyeing the spread laid out in front of you.
James grinned proudly. âWell, we all make great bakers,â he said. âRemus has precision, Iâve got my luck, and SiriusâŠâ
âHey! I was moral support!â Sirius interjected, pushing James lightly.
You laughed, glancing at Remus. âThis is really sweet. Thank you.â
âOf course, my love,â Remus said, leaning in to kiss you softly. âWeâd do anything for you. And we both know youâll pass, because youâre brilliant.â
âYeah, that brain of yours would outsmart all of us,â Sirius said, shaking his head with a grin.
âAnd, uh, I did come up with the idea for the basket,â James interrupted, his eyes twinkling mischievously. âI think I deserve a kiss for that.â
You giggled, leaning over to give him a quick peck.
âI suggested we have it outside,â Sirius added, looking pleased with himself.
You laughed again before giving him a peck as well.
Remus smiled at you lovingly, his hand resting on your knee. âIâm just glad youâre here with us,â He said quietly.
âWell,â You said with a cheeky grin, âI think itâs time for some skinny dipping. Maybe a bit of Quidditch? And, oh, a bedtime story?â
The boysâ eyes all lit up. Siriusâ grin grew mischievous.
âYou had me at skinny dipping,â He said with a wink.

And They Were Roommates 10.2
the long awaited friendsgiving part 2! a month late but ya know... also the title is getting kind of hilarious
summary: friendsgiving pt.2
cw: uh... none that I can really think of? maybe a bit of flirting? if there is anything please do let me know!
word count: 2.1k
Friendsgiving was a hit. It was so incredibly fun getting to know everyone, eating delicious food (you were definitely going to ask Pandora for her pumpkin pasty recipe), and playing so many games. You played a couple rounds of spoons which ended in James and Marlene wrestling for the last spoon and, surprisingly, Marlene won. James claimed she was cheating saying âI had four sevens!â making everyone laugh.
âGotta be quicker, Potter, I thought you were the âbest chaser in a generationââ She mocked. You didnât quite understand, but laughed along with the group, mostly at Jamesâs pout.
As the night went on, you found yourself opening up to the others, becoming fast friends with both Pandora and Dorcas. At one point in the night, Sirius complained that they were stealing you from them. Dorcas just pulled you closer by your shoulders and stuck her tongue out at him. You laughed and let yourself be pulled into Pandora and Dorcasâs embrace. Sirius huffed and walked away.
âSo, Y/Nâ Pandora continued your conversation, âAre you seeing anyone?â
Your eyes widened, surprised by her forwardness. âOh uh⊠not exactly.â you chuckled. You looked down at your lap, trying to avoid the awkward feeling that was creeping up.
âReally?,â she asked âBut, with looks like yours, I would have thought that you had the boys lining up around the block.â she said, cozying up to you in an attempt to get more out of you. You just shook your head, lowering your gaze and trying to fight back the reddening of your cheeks.
âWell do you at least have your eye on someone?â Pandora asked in her soft airy voice. She had a genuine look of interest in her eyes that combated the look of mischief in Dorcasâs.
You again shook your head, not sure how to answer her, or better, how to not answer her. You were definitely not about to let your heavily guarded crush, or maybe crushes, slip out. Who knows who could hear this conversation. You definitely saw these girls as your friends now, but there is no one close enough to you that you would openly tell who you were secretly crushing on.
Besides, if your little crush got out it could mean ruining your friendships and possibly your entire living situation. Yes, you had a crush on your roommates. Each of your roommates had different reasons that attracted you but, you couldnât help the warm little feelings you would get when you were around them. You tried your hardest for a long time to ignore that nagging little feeling, to let it go and pretend it meant nothing, but you found yourself feeling like a schoolgirl around them. You had become very close to them very quickly, and somewhere along the way, you realized how genuinely great they were to you, how they treated you.Â
You were perfectly content to leave it at just that, just roommates who cared a lot about each other, but you found yourself longing for more. Especially when you found them snuggling under a blanket on the couch while you all watched a movie together or when you came home to find them napping all together. At first you were jealous in these moments, wanting it to be you instead, but then that feeling grew into longing, realizing that you wanted to be right in the middle of it all with them.
You liked all three of the boys equally, which confused you even more. You couldnât choose one over the other two and possibly throw off the whole dynamic in the house. And then there was the thought of if it didnât work out, what then.
So you just decided to hold this secret in, try to let it pass.
âUh⊠not really.â You lied, shaking your head. Both Pandora and Dorcas looked at you like they didnât believe you, but didnât push any further.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw two figures enter you and the other girl's space. It was the blonde boy- Pandoraâs twin Evan, and the boy with black hair with green streaks who you had to remember was named Barty. Evan stayed standing while Barty slinked to a cushion on the floor in front of you three girls.
âWhat are you three talking about?â Barty asked, smiling broadly. He had a nice smile, laced with boyish mischief and charm. It made him look less intimidating for sure.
âBoys,â Pandora said in a sing-song tone.Â
âOooh,â Barty said at the same time that Evan let out a slight âGrossâ and walked away to where Lily and Regulus were talking at the table.
Pandora giggled at her twinâs reaction. âWe werenât talking about my love life.â She explained, still a soft chuckle on her words.
âThen whoâs?â Barty asked, looking straight at you.
âNo oneâs,â you said quickly, âthere is no love life.â you thought that the topic was dropped but apparently not.
Both Pandora and Dorcas laughed at your quick outburst. You laughed along with them, it was a bit quick, probably sounded so girlish.
Barty let out a soft chuckle of his own. âNo love life, huh?â he smiled at you again. His smile was actually⊠very nice. He was more handsome the more you looked at him. But he was eyeing you like he was trying to figure something out, figure you out.
âLeaver here be, Bartemius.â Dorcas said from beside you, using what you assumed was his real name.
He just threw his hands up in defense and said âIâm not doing anything.â
She squinted her brown eyes at him, letting out a suspicious âMmmhmâŠâ
He rolled his eyes in response.
The four of you then broke into conversation about other topics, and you were grateful to leave the topic of love lives behind. You all talked about your music tastes which, to your surprise, all three of them shared with you. You talked about your favorite artists, songs, and what upcoming concerts you were excited for or bummed that you had to miss out on.
This led to Pandora starting a story about a concert she had gone to but then about halfway through remembered something she needed to tell James, so she cut her story short by skipping off into the kitchen to find him. You three laughed at her short attention span, but continued on.
The three of you continued talking about some movies then, until Dorcas claimed that she needed a refill of her drink and made her way to the kitchen as well, leaving just you and Barty.
Barty took Pandoraâs place on the couch as you two continued talking. Barty was actually a very nice person. You were a little skeptical because of his more⊠alternative look, but you found that he was really great to talk to, hardly any lulls in the conversation, he knew exactly what questions to ask or what to say to keep the conversation alive and well.Â
You two got onto the topic of growing up, he asked where you lived and what kind of school you went to. He listened intently and showed interest in what you had to say.Â
âWhat about you? Where did you grow up?â you turned his own question on him.
âLondon,â He replied, âBut my father had a house in France as well, so I would try to spend as much time there as possible.â
âFrance?â you asked, shocked. You could only dream of having a second home, let alone a second home somewhere in France.Â
He smirked. âYeah thatâs kind of where me, the Blacks, and the Rosiers grew up.â He said.
âWait, Sirius grew up in France too?â you asked, again shocked and interested in this new revelation. He replied with a nod. âWell, can you all still speak French?â
âOui,â he replied. You giggled and continued talking to him about traveling and what it was like to grow up in a different country.
âWell where would you want to live?â He asked.
You smiled, feeling that warm feeling in the pit of your stomach again. âWell, Iâm pretty content here.â you explained, eyes focusing on your fingers playing with your new ring that Dorcas gave you.Â
âHere?â He asked, sounding baffled. âAs in here in this house⊠with those three?â he nodded to the kitchen where you followed the movement to see Remus, Sirius, and James Standing in the doorway, eyes all on you and Barty. They didnât look too pleased, but didnât know the cause.
You turned back to your conversation, smiled and nodded. âI like living here⊠with them.â you said.
Barty looked at you with what seemed to be realization washing over his face. He looked you over, then looked back to the boys over your shoulder, and back to you. You could tell that he caught on to your meaning. He had figured you out. He smirked and nodded, confirming that he did in fact catch on.
âPlease donât say anything.â you said, ready to plead with him. You shouldnât have said anything in the first place, you werenât going to tell Dorcas and Pandora, but here you were spilling your secret to a boy who had buttered you up with stimulating conversation for half an hour.Â
He made a motion of zipping his lips. You sighed in relief.
âYouâre a lucky girl you know.â was all he said.
You furrowed your brows in confusion. âWhat do you mean?â you asked.
âYouâre a very pretty girl. Iâm sure they would have you happily.â he replied. You couldnât stop the blush that creeped up your neck and now blotched your face.Â
âI-I donât, uh.. I donât know what you mean.â you stuttered out, shaking your head and trying to get him to drop it. Again, you had no idea who could hear your conversation.Â
âI just mean, I donât exactly think that they would have been so quick to let you live here, rent free might I add, if they were not into you, beauty.â He said, giving you a pet name.Â
âT-they were just doing a good thing, helping me outâ you said, unable to gain your composure between the conversation topic and the subtle flirtation that Barty was conveying with that little nickname.Â
He looked at you with raised brows. âAnd being pretty sure helps,â he finished with a wink.
âHelps with what,â you heard Siriusâs voice from your right side.Â
Startled, you quickly turned to him. âOh- Uh, nothing!â you said a beat too fast. Sirius just stared at Barty, suspicion radiating off of him. This felt like a start to a nightmare. One you may or may not have experienced where your secret was revealed and everything went terribly wrong.
âI was just telling her about a date I had last week,â Barty said, holding Siriusâs eye contact with a smirk plastered on his face. âIsnât that right Y/N, dear?â
âOh, yeah!â you said, glad to have a good explanation that wouldnât raise any alarms with Sirius.
âAnyways, I was just going to grab a drink,â Barty announced, giving you a knowing look. âWould you like anything?â he asked you. You shook your head. âAlright then,â He said, standing and clapping Sirius on the shoulder as he passed him.
Sirius took the opportunity to slide into the spot that Barty was previously occupying. âYou alright?â he asked.
âYeah, why?â you answered.
âYou just seem a little jumpy, thatâs all.â Sirius said softly, a trace of worry between his brows.
You took a deep breath and smiled. âYeah Iâm fine just, been talking a lot.â you laughed off the nerves, relaxing into the familiar and easy conversation with Sirius. That warm feeling creeping back in, and you allowed it.
âI know,â He said. â I noticed you mingling quite a bit tonight, Iâm proud. I know meeting all these new people at once could have been daunting, but youâve done great all night.â
You smiled back at him, then rested your head on his shoulder, a normal act that you had done many times by now, but this time it felt so different. Warm and fuzzy, and all your senses wrapped in something distinctly Sirius.Â
You yawned and allowed yourself to shut your eyes for a moment. You were getting tired, all the socializing as well as cooking and decorating beforehand had taken its toll.Â
âYou tired?â Sirius asked. You nodded, head still on his shoulder. âGood now I have an excuse to kick everyone out.â
You snapped your eyes open, Sirius making to stand up. You giggled and pulled on his arm, pulling him back down onto the couch. âNo Siri! You canât blame it on me!â you laughed.

Beyond Words
Remus Lupin x fem!reader
Summary: âTough day?â Remus asked, turning slightly to watch you more closely. You shrugged. âKind of. Just⊠a lot of noise. I needed a little peace.â âWell, you came to the right place.â
Warnings: none
Masterlist
The night at Hogwarts was peaceful, except for the distant sound of conversations and laughter coming from the Gryffindor Common Room. After a particularly busy day, all you wanted was a moment of peace, away from the noise and distractions. So, you climbed the stairs toward the Astronomy Tower, where you knew you could find the silence you longed for.
When you opened the heavy door, the first thing you saw was a familiar silhouette sitting on one of the stone benches under the faint light of the stars. Remus Lupin. He was bent over a book, his brown hair falling softly over his forehead as his eyes scanned the pages. You paused for a moment, hesitating.
âIf youâre going back to the noise down there, donât even think about it,â he said without looking up from the book, but there was a playful smile in his voice.
You sighed lightly, crossing your arms. âI didnât say anything.â
âYou didnât need to. I know you,â he replied, carefully closing the book and finally lifting his gaze to you. That warm, curious brown stare made your heart race every time. He smiled, the kind of smile that seemed reserved only for you. âCome here.â
Remus slid over to make room on the stone bench for you to sit. Despite your initial reluctance, you walked over to him, sitting down with a heavy sigh.
âTough day?â he asked, turning slightly to watch you more closely.
You shrugged. âKind of. Just⊠a lot of noise. I needed a little peace.â
âWell, you came to the right place,â he said softly, pulling something from his robe pocket. He held out his hand and, without saying anything, handed you a small piece of chocolate.
You raised an eyebrow, taking the treat. âYou carry chocolate everywhere?â
âOf course,â he answered casually. âYou never know when someone might need a little comfort.â
You chuckled softly, shaking your head, but accepted the chocolate gratefully. The sweet and comforting taste was exactly what you needed. Silence fell over you both again, but it wasnât uncomfortable. On the contrary, it was the kind of silence that only someone like Remus could make possibleâa silence where you could simply exist.
He opened the book again, but his attention clearly wasnât on the pages. He kept glancing at you out of the corner of his eye, as if studying you.
âYouâre staring at me,â you commented without taking your eyes off the starry sky.
âItâs because youâre beautiful,â he said without hesitation.
You turned your face toward him, feeling the heat rise in your cheeks. âYou never get tired of saying that, do you?â
âTo tell the truth? No,â he replied, smiling with that calm way of his that made it impossible to stay mad at him.
You shook your head, trying to hide how fast your heart was beating. He had this way of making even the simplest moments feel special, like they were just for the two of you.
After a while, Remus closed the book again and set it aside. He turned completely toward you, resting his elbow on his knee while propping his chin in his hand.
âDid you know that this is my favorite thing about you?â
You blinked, surprised. âWhat?â
âThis,â he said, pointing slightly at you. âThe way you can turn any place into something peaceful. Even if the day was a mess, even if Iâm exhausted⊠you make everything seem easier.â
âMe?â you asked, incredulous.
âYou,â he confirmed, his brown eyes shining with sincerity. âEven the silence with you feels special.â
For a moment, you couldnât say anything. Not because you didnât know how to respond, but because it seemed impossible to put into words how much he meant to you. He was everythingâa ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, a constant in a world full of uncertainties.
âI⊠I like you too,â you finally said, your voice softer than you intended.
He smiled, the kind of smile that made the world seem lighter. âWell, thatâs convenient, considering weâre dating.â
You huffed, trying to keep up the air of indignation, but the heat rising in your face and the corner of your mouth betraying a smile didnât help at all. âYouâre impossible, you know that?â
âI hear that a lot,â he replied, tilting his head slightly, the playful tone softening his expression.
For a moment, you just stared at each other, the kind of silence that felt full of unspoken things, but things that didnât need to be said. Then, before you could censor yourself, you let slip: âItâs just that you make everything seem so⊠easy.â
Remus raised an eyebrow, surprised. âEasy? Me?â
âYes, you,â you repeated, feeling your face heat up even more. âYou have this⊠thing. This way of making everything seem like itâs going to be fine. Even when it shouldnât. Itâs annoying.â
He laughed, that low, cozy laugh that seemed to fill the entire space. âI think that was the strangest compliment Iâve ever received.â
âIt was sincere,â you shot back, looking at the sky to avoid his gaze. âAnd donât get used to it. I donât do this all the time.â
Remus didnât respond immediately. Instead, he leaned a little closer until you finally turned to face him again. His brown eyes were shining, a mix of affection and something deeper that made your heart stumble.
âYou know I adore you, right?â he said softly, the tone so sincere it almost hurt.
You tried to laugh, but the intensity of his words caught you off guard. âAre you sure about that?â
âI am,â he said without hesitation. âAnd Iâll keep saying it until you truly believe it.â
Without thinking, you leaned in, pressing a light kiss to his lips. It was brief, but sweet, the kind of gesture that said more than any words could. When you pulled back, you saw he was smiling againâthat smile that was all his, soft and charming.
âWas that an argument?â he asked, the playful tone returning.
âMaybe,â you replied, trying to hide how nervous you were, but the smile on his face told you he knew.
He extended his hand, his fingers gently brushing against yours before holding them. The scars on his skin were rough, but the touch was gentle, almost reverent. You knew he didnât like drawing attention to the marks, but to you, they were just another part of himâanother thing to admire.
âYouâre beautiful, you know?â he said, his eyes fixed on yours.
âRemus,â you murmured, feeling your face heat up again.
âIâm serious,â he insisted, intertwining his fingers with yours. âItâs not just the way you look at me, or how you can understand everything without me having to say anything. Itâs how you pay attention to everything, like now. I see the way you look at me, and that⊠means more than you think.â
You swallowed hard, feeling a lump in your throat. âI⊠I just⊠really like you. A lot.â
He tilted his head, curious. âHow much?â
You sighed, knowing you couldnât escape. âEnough to think you deserve more than just this.â
Before he could respond, you moved closer again, holding his face in your hands. You ran your thumbs gently over the scars on his cheeks, looking at him with all the intensity you usually hid. âI really do adore you, Remus Lupin. Even the little, silly details.â
The surprise in his eyes lasted only a moment before it melted into something even softer. He held your hands, lightly kissing the palm of one of them. âThen weâre even.â
You laughed, but before you could say anything, he leaned in, kissing you with a sweetness that seemed to take all the air from your lungs. It wasnât rushed or intense, but filled with a tenderness that said everything he felt.
When you pulled apart, he was still close, his forehead resting against yours. âYou know thereâs no turning back now, right? Youâre stuck with me.â
âAm I?â you asked, raising an eyebrow, but you couldnât stop the smile that escaped.
âCompletely,â he replied, his smile matching yours.
And as you stayed there, tangled up in each other under the starlight, the world felt quieter, simplerâlike nothing else mattered but the two of you.

Hey hey astro! I was thinking about reader that turned into a fox (or other, if you prefer) animagus with the help of the marauders and joined Remus on a full moon? You can make it angsty, fluffy, spicy, ... whatever you prefer!! đ«¶
Whisper of the Full Moon
Hi, hun!! I hope you enjoy, I loved writing this one!!!
Remus Lupin x female!reader
Y/N becomes an Animagus with the Marauders' help, transforming into a fox to stand by Remus Lupin during his werewolf transformations. Together, they face the full moon, their bond stronger than ever.
â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°ââ.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:â
Y/N had always known that she was different. From a young age, there had been something about her that set her apart from the other students at Hogwarts. But it wasnât until she met Remus Lupin and the Marauders that she truly understood what that difference was.
At first, it had seemed like any other school year. Y/N had been a bright student, excelling in her classes and making friends effortlessly. But when she found herself drawn to Remus, a shy and mysterious boy in her year, her life began to change in ways she hadnât expected. Remus was different from the other boysâquiet, reserved, and often absent from school due to unexplained illnesses. It was only when she got closer to him that she learned the truth: Remus Lupin was a werewolf.
The revelation had shaken Y/N to her core. She had heard the rumorsâwhispers in the hallways about the strange boy who would disappear once a month and return looking drained and sick. But Remus had trusted her enough to tell her the truth, and in that moment, something inside her clicked. She loved him, and nothing would ever change that.
It wasnât long before she became entwined with the MaraudersâJames Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and of course, Remus. The Marauders had their own secret: they were Animagi, wizards who could transform into animals at will. James was a stag, Sirius was a dog, and Peter, though not as skilled, was a rat. But there was something about Y/N that made them believe she could join them.
âYouâre strong, Y/N,â James had told her one night after a particularly intense study session in the common room. âYouâve got the magic in you. You just need to unlock it.â
At first, Y/N wasnât sure what they meant. But the Marauders were persistent, especially Sirius, who had a way of convincing people that they could do anything. They had been working on their Animagus transformations for years, and they believed that Y/N could do it too. After all, if they could become animals, why couldnât she?
And so, under the cover of darkness and the guidance of the Marauders, Y/N began her training. It was a grueling process, filled with trial and error, but Y/N was determined. She wanted to be part of their world, to stand by Remus during the full moon, to support him in ways that no one else could.
It took months of hard work. There were times when Y/N felt like giving up, when the transformation seemed impossible. But the Marauders were patient. James taught her how to focus her magic, how to connect with the animal inside her. Sirius helped her embrace her inner strength, while Peter provided encouragement when things seemed bleak. And, of course, Remus was always there to support her, his eyes filled with pride whenever she made progress.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the day arrived. Y/N stood in the middle of the Maraudersâ secret hideout, her heart racing as she focused all of her energy on the transformation. She could feel itïżœïżœïżœher magic humming inside her, pushing against the walls of her human form. With a deep breath, she let go, allowing herself to fall into the magic.
The change was almost instantaneous. Her body shifted, fur sprouting from her skin, her limbs shrinking and elongating as she became the animal she had always known herself to be. She was a foxâquick, agile, and clever. Her senses were heightened, and the world around her seemed more vibrant, more alive.
When she opened her eyes, she saw the Marauders standing in front of her, grinning from ear to ear.
âYou did it!â James exclaimed, his voice filled with pride.
Sirius clapped his hands together. âWelcome to the pack, Y/N.â
Peter beamed, his eyes wide. âYouâre amazing.â
But it was Remus who stood closest to her, his eyes soft with admiration. âYou did it, love. I knew you could.â
Y/N could hardly contain her joy. She had done itâshe had become an Animagus, just like the Marauders. But more than that, she had done it for Remus. She had done it so that she could stand by him, so that she could be there for him when the full moon came.
â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°ââ.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:â
The full moon was approaching, and Y/N could feel the tension in the air. Remus had been quiet, more withdrawn than usual. The days leading up to the full moon were always difficult for him, and though he never complained, Y/N could see the toll it took on him.
She knew the full moon was coming, and with it, the transformation that Remus dreaded. But this time, things would be different. This time, she would be there by his side, in her fox form, ready to help him through the night.
The Marauders had made special arrangements for the night of the full moon. They had found a safe place in the Forbidden Forest, far from the castle and the prying eyes of anyone who might stumble upon them. James, Sirius, and Peter would stay with Remus, watching over him in their animal forms, while Y/N would be there too, a silent companion, offering her support.
When the night finally arrived, Y/N met the Marauders at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, her heart pounding in her chest. Remus was already there, standing alone beneath the trees, his eyes haunted by the knowledge of what was to come.
âHey, love,â Y/N whispered, her voice soft and comforting. She stepped forward, nuzzling her head against his leg in her fox form.
Remus looked down at her, his lips curling into a faint smile. âIâm glad youâre here, Y/N,â he said quietly, his voice thick with emotion. âBut you donât have to do this. Itâs dangerous.â
Y/N shook her head, her fox tail flicking back and forth in determination. She was here for him, and nothing would make her leave. She had trained for this moment. She was ready.
The transformation was starting, and Remusâs body began to shake. His breath quickened, his eyes widening in pain as the change overtook him. Y/N could feel his distress, the rawness of his emotions, but she stayed close to him, a steady presence in the midst of the chaos.
The Marauders were already in their animal formsâJamesâs stag, Siriusâs dog, and Peterâs ratâsurrounding Remus, offering their silent support. But Y/N was the one who stayed closest, never leaving his side. She could feel his fear, his shame, and she knew that he needed her more than ever.
As the full moon rose high in the sky, Remus completed his transformation into the werewolf. His body twisted and contorted, his eyes glowing with an eerie yellow light. But Y/N wasnât afraid. She had seen this before, and though it was always a terrifying sight, she knew that she was safe as long as she stayed by his side.
The night was long, and it was difficult to watch Remus struggle against his instincts. But Y/N never left him, never faltered. She stayed close, her fox form darting around him, offering comfort in the only way she knew how.
When the sun finally began to rise, signaling the end of the full moon, Remusâs transformation began to reverse. His body slowly returned to its human form, and as the last of the werewolfâs fury faded, he collapsed onto the forest floor, exhausted.
Y/N was there, as always, nuzzling his face with her fox muzzle, her eyes filled with concern. She stayed with him, offering her warmth and her presence as he recovered from the ordeal.
âThank you,â Remus whispered, his voice hoarse. âI donât know what I would do without you.â
Y/N wagged her tail, her heart swelling with love. She had done itâshe had been there for him, just as she had promised. Together, they had made it through the night.
â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°ââ.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:â
From that night on, Y/N knew that her place was with Remus. She was no longer just his girlfriendâshe was his partner, his equal, and his constant companion. The Marauders had welcomed her into their circle, but it was with Remus that she found her true purpose.
Though the full moon would always be a challenge, Y/N knew that they would face it together. With the help of the Marauders, the support of her friends, and the love she shared with Remus, she was ready for whatever came next.
In the end, it wasnât about being an Animagus or having the ability to transform into a fox. It was about the people you loved and the sacrifices you were willing to make for them. And for Y/N, that was all that mattered.
She had found her place in the world, and it was by Remusâs side, through every challenge, every full moon, and every new beginning. Together, they would face whatever came their way, knowing that they were stronger than they had ever been before.
And with that, Y/N knew that no matter what the future held, she would always be there for Remus. Through the full moon and beyond.

1 boyfriend, 3 perverts - Remus Lupin (poly!marauders)
Summary: Your bf loves giving you head... especially when he's high, and doesn't mind having friends around. 2.5k wc - read pt. 2 here Wrote this instead of studying for my exams that start tmr...
The wooden floor was cold under your feet, blanketed by the chilly air that filled the dorms at this time of the year. You tip toed over to where you left your slippers by the mirror, clenching your jaw as you opened the door to your dorm, careful not to wake your peacefully slumbering roommates. Once outside, you let out a breath you didn't realise you'd been holding, making your way down the stairs leading to the common room.
Luckily, most of the Gryffindors were already in their dorms, tired after a long few days of exams, so no one could see you, nearly half naked, warily creeping up the boys' dormitory staircase. The hallway is dark, but you can hear the muffled noises behind doors of dorm-mates joking around, or arguing. You stop in front of the right door, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear before taking it out again, shaking your head to make your hair fall back into its natural state. Peeking down at your outfit, you nod in reassurance. Wearing small sleep shorts that barely covered your ass and a low cut tank top that didn't make an effort in hiding your perky nipples, you were sure that Remus would pounce on you the second he saw you.
Knocking on the door twice, you look around the hallway to make sure no one catches you in the wrong place. The dorm is eerily quiet when Peter opens the door to the dorm, and he looks visibly relieved when he sees it's you, his shoulders dropping in ease. "It's only y/n, lads." He states, stepping to the side to let you in, and a ruckus of noise fills the room once more as you walk inside, the other three boys clearly just as relieved as he was. They're all sat at the big window nook, window open behind them, cigarette wrappers littering the seats around them, clearly in the middle of a smoke sess. "Sweetheart!" Exclaims Remus from where he is sat, as you approach him, wrapping both arms over his shoulders in a loose hug.
Remus passes the cigarette he holds over to Sirius, letting both arms wrap around you, landing on the back of your bare thighs, just under your ass. He tugs you slightly closer to him, tilting his head up for you to bend down, pressing your lips down to his in a kiss. Remus kisses you hungrily, his hands trailing upwards to press your torso as close to him as he can, opening his mouth slightly so his tongue meets yours as you kiss, making you gasp in shock. You put a hand on his chest, pushing him away from you, eyes wide in surprise at his desperation. His lips tasted of weed and lemon drops, an explanation to his excitement.
"Remmy." You say lovingly, dropping your head down to press kisses onto his naked neck. Remus pushes your hips back slightly, and he spins you around in his arms, shoving you down so you're sat on his laps, and you finally acknowledge the two other boys, engrossed in conversation as though they hadn't even noticed your affectionate exchange. "Hey boys." You greet, accepting the cigarette Sirius hands you when they turn their attention to you. Taking a drag of the cigarette, you move your head to the side, allowing Remus to push your hair back, littering sloppy kisses onto your soft skin, making a trail of saliva down to your tank top's neckline, which barely covers the top of your tits, as Sirius begins to catch you up on their story.
One of Remus' hands comes up to cup one of your breasts, toying with it in his hand, and you briefly wonder just how long they've been smoking for. You jerk away from your boyfriend when his teeth graze the side of your neck teasingly. His grip around your waist tightens, and he pushes you down on his laps back into place, pressing your cunt down on his growing erection. Remus only separates himself from your neck to take a drag of the cigarette hanging between your index and middle finger before he gets back to business, ignoring the boys who begin teasing him.
Eventually, when Sirius drowsily says "Rem here can't go 10 minutes without bringing up how he needs to have you close to him, so I'm not surprised that he's all over you." Remus, still unbothered and worshiping your body, retorts with "Well I'm allowed to miss my girlfriend. At least I'm not the bloke who jerks off to photos of his best mate's girl." The room goes completely silent, with the exception of squelching noises Remus' wet kisses make on your skin. Your jaw goes slack, and you observe the looks on your boyfriend's three best friends' faces, noticing their gaping mouths and rosy cheeks. You almost don't believe your boyfriend, but the looks on his mates' faces say otherwise.
Your hand trails up to grip your boyfriend's short hair, trying to gently tug him away from you for a moment, as you rotate on his laps to face him as best you can. He obliges, looking up at your awaiting gaze with red eyes, a clear sign of how high he is. "Remus, what?" A sleeve covered hand comes up to wipe the saliva off his swollen pink lips. "You didn't know? These three perverts have had a massive crush on you since we got together. Always look extra close when we kiss, or when I touch your body the way no guy should in front of his best mates. To be fair, I only do it because I noticed the photo of you on your knees for me disappeared. Was my favourite photo of you too." His hand comes up to stroke your cheek as he says that last sentence, bringing your face closer to his to kiss you again.
You moan into the kiss, hands coming up to grip his jumper, completely unaware of the growing tents in the other boys' trousers, or the guilty looks on their faces, unaware that they had been caught by the big bad wolf. A string of saliva connects your lips when you pull away from the kiss, and Remus adds "But they're my best mates, I don't mind sharing with them a little." And with that, Remus' hands snake under your thighs, lifting you up gently, and placing you on the spot next to him on the big window nook. "Lay back down for me." You obey his words, still very much confused, head conveniently landing on Peter's laps, acting as a pillow for you. Remus climbs over you to continue placing kisses from where he left off, hands gripping the bottom of your shirt to effortlessly pull it over your head, your bare tits exposed to the group of boys.
You arch your back, the cool summer air sticking to the coats of saliva on your torso, and you take the time to look at the two boys observing you. Both Sirius and James have a hand over the tent in their trousers, palming their growing erections at the sight of you being pleasured by their best mate. At the tap on your hips, your gaze trails back down to your boyfriend, whose fingers grip your revealing sleeping shorts. You lift your hips up, eyes trailing back up to the boy looking down at you, and you smile up at him.
Remus, completely undisturbed by the attention you're paying his friends, pulls your panties off, throwing them in James' general direction as he spreads your knees open, lowering himself onto your cunt. He inhales deeply, his enhanced senses nearly causing his eyes to roll back in pleasure, before he finally buries himself into your cunt, disrupting the moment you shared with Peter, a loud moan cutting off whatever he was telling you. A hand immediately comes to grip Remus' chestnut hair, and your legs fall open even more, letting him suck at your clit and nip the areas around your thighs, surely leaving hickeys on your skin.
Remus's nose nudges at your clit, his tongue poking in and out of your hole, before he switches his attention, sucking aggressively on your sensitive nub, and dragging a finger up your slit, teasing your entrance with it. You gasp in pleasure, shutting your eyes close and bucking your hips up into your boyfriend's face. However, you don't have time to enjoy the feeling before it's taken away from you. "No!" You yell, shooting upwards and barely missing Peter's face when Remus completely removes contact with your pussy, only a hand on your thigh acting as any form of contact between your bodies. "Pete," Remus starts, causing the blonde boy's head to snap towards your boyfriend, an expression of absolute fear on his face.
"Don't let her close her eyes." He finishes, before plunging right back into your pussy, making your thighs squeeze around his head in pleasure. Peter puts his hands on your shoulders, helping you lay back down again, and you pant, looking off to the side to distract yourself from closing your eyes in pleasure. James has your panties wrapped around his hand, palming his dick over his sweatpants, and Sirius sits next to him, joggers unashamedly pulled down just enough for his dick to spring out, jerking himself off in long strokes. You gasp, back arching when Remus plunges two fingers inside your cunt, thrusting them into you quickly while his mouth works on stimulating your clit.
"Oh Rem!" You moan, digging your head back into Peter's laps, eyes screwing shut in pleasure. "Y/n... Y/n?" Peter mutters, unsure of what to do. "Y/n open your eyes." He tries again, to no avail. Remus lifts his head up, fingers still thrusting into you, and reaches up with his free hand to pinch your nipple, twisting it harshly. "Fuck!" You yelp, eyes snapping back open to make eye contact with your boyfriend. "When Pete tells you to open your eyes, you listen!" He instructs, slowing his hand's movements, waiting for a response. "Okay, fuck! Please Remus!" You beg, grinding your hips on his hand desperately, tears building up in your eyes. "Now what do you say you Pete?" He asks, his hand speeding up again. "'M sorry Pete." You sniffle, looking up at him. "Good girl." Says Remus, grinning when he feels your pussy clench at the praise.
"It's okay, y/n" Replies Pete, eyes going wide when you chase for his hand, pulling it on your body, and moving his fingers to grip your tit. "Shit!" He curses, looking at your possessive boyfriend. "Remus, is this- is this okay?" He asks fearfully, sighing when your boyfriend glances up, nodding. "Whatever my girl wants to do, she can do." Remus mutters against your pussy, focusing on your pleasure once more. A groan pulls your attention away from Pete, who begins massaging your tit, pinching your nipple slightly, and your cunt clenches in pleasure again. Your gaze lands on James, who is roughly palming himself, too shy to properly take care of himself like Sirius next to him. "Oh God" You moan, eyes fixated on his frustrated face, eyebrows furrowed and tears forming in his eyes. "Jamie." His head immediately snaps to you. "Come closer." And the boy obeys, dragging a chair right next to you.
You wipe a stray tear falling down his cheek, and reach out to the top of his sweatpants, pathetically trying to pull them down, hips bucking up at the sudden overstimulation on your clit. James helps you, pulling them down just enough for his cock to be exposed to you, angrily slapping his bare torso. The tip of his cock is red and leaking pre-cum, and you immediately start rubbing it, moaning the second James cries out in pleasure, thighs squeezing around your boyfriend's head, working hard to make you cum. You spread James' pre-cum down his dick and to the base of his cock, squeezing him near his balls before starting to stroke his length. His hips buck up into your hand, and you're suddenly reminded of the hand massaging your tit, looking up at Peter, who is completely engrossed in your body. Your eyebrows furrow and you feel the knot in your belly tightening, but something is missing.
You suddenly feel frustrated at the neglect of your second tit, and look for Sirius's eyes in the room, already locked on you. You look back down at your tits, hoping Sirius gets the message, and it seems he does, scurrying over to you, and kneeling on the floor next to the window nook, hand still glued to his cock. Boldly, his free hand reaches up to your tit, and he leans forward to wrap his lips around your perk nipple. You cry out as he begins sucking on it, your fist around James' cock tightening unawarely, causing him to gasp. Remus adds a third finger to your cunt, still sucking on your clit and you're done for, crying out his name loudly as you cum around his fingers and mouth, orgasm nearly causing you to black out. You're aware of the other two boys crying out too, closely followed by Remus, whose vibrations go up your pussy, making you gasp, letting go of James' cock to grip Remus' hair tightly, pulling his face closer to your cunt.
Remus' fingers slow down on your cunt, and he eventually pulls them out, tongue lapping at your pussy to clean you up, while you beg him to stop. "Fuck, baby-Rem can't!" James and Sirius shoot each other incredulous looks, panting to catch their breaths: they weren't expecting the night to come to this. When Remus finally pulls away from you, he leans over you, arms wrapping around your back to help you sit up, and you ogle at him, and the wet patch in his trousers, giggling slightly. "So we all finished except poor Peter?" You guess, looking back at the boy who sheepishly nods, cheeks tinted red. "Well-" You begin to suggest, only to be interrupted by your boyfriend. "No, I'm absolutely not done with you yet. You can take care of Peter when we're done, if he doesn't get to it first." He states, arms wrapping around your waist and effortlessly picking you.
You can hear Sirius cackle, and Peter groan whilst Remus walks the short steps to his four poster bed, dropping you on his mattress before pulling the curtains closed, and throwing his jumper off, leaving his torso in all its naked glory. "Muffliato or no?" He asks you, leaning down to press a soft kiss on your lips. Just as you begin to say the answer, you hear three yells of "No!" coming from outside the curtains.
"Pervs!" Your boyfriend yells out, though he obeys with a grin, shimmying out of his trousers.

Potter!Reader x Remus
Summary: after weeks of having a painful crush on your brothers best friend, you make a plan to seduce him.
Warnings: smutty and slutty
Word count: 6k
âââââââââââââââââââââââââ
You groaned into your pillow, wiping the sweat from your forehead into the cotton fabric. This was the second time this week you'd woken up sweating from a dream about Remus Lupin, and it troubled you deeply that the scenarios you imagined would never happen. For one, your brother would instantly shut you down if you even suggested going out with any boy, let alone his best mate. The more unfortunate part was that you were almost certain Remus saw you as nothing more than James' little sister, a title you were tired of carrying. You huffed again as you rose to start getting ready. How much longer could this crush go on? It had started on the train in September. You remember thinking to yourself that Remus had become quite good looking over the summer and left it at that. But soon, he started to catch your eyes in the hallways, then in the common room, until finally he had managed his way into your head. You were constantly thinking about him. Thinking about the glimpses of his chest you'd caught one time when his shirt was unbuttoned, thinking about the way his adam's apple moved in his throat, thinking about his hands...
You shook your head and stepped into the shower. If only you could know what he felt like, then maybe this incessant urge to be with him would go away. You felt the water fall down your back as you washed yourself up. You were a pretty girl, you knew this. If you were someone else, had a different last name, maybe you'd have a chance. Although, you'd never really tried before. You kept these thoughts to yourself, having nobody to talk to them about. Normally you would tell James everything, and he would usually play parent when it came to your school girl crushes. But you couldn't exactly go up to James and say, "Hey, do you think you could set me up with Remus? Y'know, your best mate? I really want to see what he looks like with his clothes off." No, you couldn't do that. But perhaps you wouldn't have to...
You stepped out of the shower feeling confident in your plan. You had spent all this time pining in silence over Remus, it was time for action. While you got ready, you made subtle changes. You hiked your skirt up just a little and slipped into the button down that was just a touch too small. When you did your makeup, you were sure to make your lips look extra lush and rosy. You put on your favorite perfume, the one you saved for special occasions. This seemed as good a day as any.
"There she is," James smiled and stood as you came down the stairs to the common room.
"Good morning, Jamie," you chimed, "were you waiting on me?" James laughed as he grabbed his bag off the floor, the two of you heading through to the portrait hole.
"I'm always waiting for you," James nudged you with his shoulder. "You look nice today." You raised your brow at him, his statement more of a question as if to ask "Is there a reason you're making an effort?"
"Thanks," was all you replied as you made your way to breakfast.
PHASE 1: Hook
When you got there, the other marauders were already sat down. Sirius was talking animatedly with Peter as Remus sat quietly reviewing notes.
"We've finally arrived," James said to no one in particular, taking a seat and immediately filling his plate. Remus look up from his book and mumbled something before delving back into his work. You sat next to James and made a bowl of porridge, listening to Sirius boast about the Quidditch match tomorrow.
"Ravenclaw is going to destroy Slytherin," he bellowed, thumping his fist on the table. "And then I am going to destroy a bottle of Firewhiskey in their common room." He smirked, earning and high five from James.
"That's the spirit, Pads," James cheered, taking a drink from his cup. You rolled your eyes and stirred your oats.
"I don't know how the two of you haven't died from overconsumption yet," you quipped, spooning sugar into your bowl.
"Genuinely," Remus added, looking up from his book, "you two are menaces." You hummed in agreement, bringing the spoon to your mouth to lick the extra sugar off. You caught Remus watching from your peripherals and made a show of it, bringing your glossed lips together at the tip of the spoon. When you glanced up thoughtfully through your lashes, he was still watching. It made you chuckle as his eyes quickly averted back to his book. Baited.
"Are you coming tomorrow, Y/N?" Peter asked, shoving toast into his mouth. You swallowed your porridge and swore that Remus' ears seemed to shift at the question.
"Y/N never comes to quidditch parties," James pouted, turning to look at you. You rolled your eyes.
"Correction, I never come to your quidditch parties," you teased, poking a finger into his shoulder. "I'll probably go tomorrow to see Pandora. If Ravenclaw wins," you reminded them. Sirius grumbled something but you couldn't tell what he was saying through his mouthful of sausage. James' face lit up with excitement.
"Ooh! Sibling bonding time," he gushed cheesily, squeezing your cheeks. Oh, for fucks sake. Could he stop? You were doing everything in your power not to be seen as his bloody little sister and he was ruining all your efforts.
"Okay, that's enough. I'm going to class," you grumbled, trying to hide your annoyance in front of Remus. The boys chuckled as you gathered your things and got up from your seat. If James was going to be a tosser, you'd have to up your game.
"Oops," you said innocently as you dropped your book on the ground, loud enough to make a clatter. You bent over to pick it up, praying that James was currently not watching.
"Merlin, Y/N. Pull your bloody skirt down," James scolded, making a foul face. You rolled your eyes at him again and stuck your tongue out as you continued to exit the hall. Well, if Remus hadn't been looking before, he surely was now.
PHASE 2: Line
You were more than excited for the Quidditch game, especially after spending yesterday evening stuck in the dungeons fixing your laughing potion. You were also excited because you had another chance to see Remus. You had only seen him briefly yesterday, and he was always buried in his work. Hopefully you'd be able to gain his attention today at the game.
With this intention, you slipped on a white babydoll top and watched yourself in the mirror as you buttoned it up. You looked good. You left the top button purposely unlatched, knowing it could catch someoneâs attention. After slipping on your favorite pair of jeans, you felt confident- sexy, even. Just the idea of Remus thinking you were sexy made you bite your lip.
You didn't wait for your roommates to finish getting ready. You did a last check of your things, grabbed your coat, and started down to the common room. As per usual, the marauders were sitting around the couches, talking loudly and taking up space. This time, Remus was clearly in on whatever bet was being placed over the quidditch game. His crooked smile made you curse under your breath and fix your hair. You decided to play it safe and sit by Marlene in an attempt to hide your fluster.
âHi Marls,â you chimed, plopping down next to her.
âPrincess Potter! You look absolutely dashing today,â she gloated, giving you a quick hug into her shoulder. You blushed from her compliment and peered upwards from the hug. Remus was smiling at something Peter had said, but was looking at you. You sent him a small wave from under Marleneâs arm to which he nodded up in response before turning his attention back to the boys. Why was that so hot?
Within twenty minutes, the group of Gryffindors was ready to leave, so the lot of you began the journey down to the pitch. It was nice out today, one of those afternoons where the sun seemed to warm the grounds and the breeze. This meant that the entire school would be at the game. You werenât usually a fan of crowded spaces, but you silently thanked the gods for putting you behind Remus as you filed into the stands. It was so packed, you could smell the cologne lingering off his clothes as you sat down on the bench. You bit your lip, trying to hide your smile of satisfaction. It felt like the universe was helping your scheme.
âY/N!â James called over the crowd, leaning forward to see you. You raised your brows and leaned forward to see him, giving him a forced smile.
âYes, brother dearest?â You called back in a sickly sweet voice. At least now you had an excuse to lean over Remus, who was currently leaning back as far as he could to get out of the way. Perfect position to climb onto his lap, your brain thought intrusively.
âYour boyfriendâs up on the pitch,â he wiggled his eyebrows teasingly, pointing to Theodore Pompous, a 7th year Ravenclaw. You leaned over Remus and Peter to smack your brother.
âBugger off,â you grumbled. âI admit to having a crush one time in third year, and you still havenât shut up about it!â You felt your cheeks blush as James and Sirius continued to tease you in the most immature manner. All you could do was roll your eyes and take it, those prats.
âStill have a crush on that posh boy?â Remus leaned in with a teasing smile. You internally groaned at him for joining in on the joke, but you wouldnât pass up the chance to tease him back.
âWhy, are you jealous?â You challenged with a devious head tilt. Remus scoffed and trained his eyes back on Theodore.
âNah,â Remus replied coolly. âBesides, James would never let you go out with that git.â
âOh, yea?â You asked, leaning in slightly. âAnd who would my brother let me go out with?â He turned to face you, his eyes meeting your provocative stare. His eyes flashed with something before Marlene tugged on your arm.
âCan you tell the boys to scoot down? Lily just got here.â
You stifled the urge to roll your eyes as you and Remus called out for the boys to move further down the bench. There wasnât much room to spare, and you ended up wedged between Marlene and Remus. You were painfully aware of his leg against your own, though Marlene's thigh didn't seem to cross your mind. Remus leaned away from you, his hand behind Peter on the bench to support his weight. It was only a minute of this compromising position before they announced the start of the game. Then, everyone leapt to their feet, eager to watch.
It was a riveting match, and Slytherin almost took the win. Luckily, Theodore managed to catch the snitch at the perfect score ratio, ending the game and sealing the win for Ravenclaw. As the excitement and cheers began to die down, everyone started slowly filing out of the stands. You shuffled behind Marlene, the noise of chatter and brushing of shoulders making you feel slightly overwhelmed. The party was going to be packed tonight. You were almost to the stairs when your foot got caught on a raised step, tripping you into the walkway. You gasped as your heart lurched forward. You prepared for impact against the steps, but it never came. Suddenly, you felt that Remusâ hands had wrapped around your waist. Your cheeks flushed red as you twisted around to face him, his right hand still lingering on your body.
âThanks,â you muttered sheepishly, your body still shaken from the almost fall. He hesitated for a moment with his hand on you, and was about to say something before James appeared next to him. Remus dropped his hand and shoved it in his pocket. You turned back around and kept following Marlene, carefully watching where you stepped.
âY/N, fix your shirt!â James called from behind. You clenched your jaw as you kept trudging on, shuffling along with the rest of the Gryffindors. Marlene fell beside you and scoffed.
âHe is such a prat about you,â Marlene complained, throwing a dirty look back at James.
âTell me about it. I almost eat shit and all he cares about is my shirt buttons,â you grumbled, begrudgingly buttoning your top. Marlene cackled and threw her arm around you.
âPlease tell me youâre coming to the party tonight,â Marlene pleaded, shaking you slightly.
âOh, Iâm coming to the party tonight,â you grinned delightfully, nudging her in response. âAnd James is going to freak out when he sees what Iâm wearing.â
PHASE 3: and Sinker
"Okay, actually what the fuck are you wearing, Y/N. This is my last straw," James warned, pushing himself up from the arm chair. His outburst made the other three boys heads snap up. You couldn't help but smirk as you felt Remusâ eyes on your body.
"What? This is what people wear at Ravenclaw parties these days," you shrugged, waving past them towards the exit. "Not that you lot would know. You don't get invited." Sirius barked out a laugh, while James sputtered in disbelief behind you.
"She's right!" Mary called from the stairs, bouncing into the common room with the rest of the Gryffindor girls, all looking flawless. You couldn't blame James for his reaction- If anything, you should be thanking him. He's doing a great job of getting everyone to stare.
"While I respect your opinion James, I think I look great. And I can wear whatever the hell I want," you snapped, spinning around to face him with a stubborn glare. The girls cheered, shouting some excited "Hell yeahs!" as James gave up with a resigned eye roll. He knew better than to cross you on something you wanted, and you clearly wanted something. He just didn't need to know exactly what it was. The girls followed you excitedly as you started out the portrait hole. This was going to be a fun night.
As predicted, the Ravenclaw common room was packed. By the time you arrived, the moonlight was already pouring through the glass ceiling dome, casting everything in a dreamy glow. It wasn't hard for Pandora to spot you, pulling you onto the dance floor with an airy giggle. The music was pulsing through your veins as you finished your first drink, then your second. Pandora pulled you into her body, the two of you laughing as you swayed and twirled. For a moment, your eyes focused on the group of Gryffindors hanging out in the lounge area, laughing at something Sirius had said. Remus sat back in a chair, his casual demeanor seeming out of place in a room like this.
Remus.
Your swaying slowed as you trained your eyes on him sitting nonchalantly. He was watching you, his jaw tightening as his eyes dropped to where Pandoras hands rested on your hips. It was too bad that Pandora twirled you around and you lost your train of thought.
"Panda, let's go smoke. I'm getting dizzy," you called over the music, Pandora nodding in response. The two of you resigned to a quiet corner, where you pulled out a tin of cigarettes and lit one with a flick of your wand. You inhaled deeply, enjoying the relief of cool air away from the crowd. You leaned your back up against the wall as Pandora took the fag from your hands.
âLingering eyes are on you,â Pandora sang, her spacey eyes falling behind you as she took a drag. You turned your head to see where she was looking and was met with Remus' stare.
âPerfect. Those are just the eyes I want lingering,â you replied, bringing your drink to your lips as you watched him. You half expected him to look away, but his eyes were burning through you. You watched as he scanned up your body, his eyes meeting yours before he downed the rest of his drink. He then quickly averted to James who was trying to get Remus' attention.
"I need another drink,â you mumbled as you pushed yourself off the wall, Pandora's giggles echoing behind you. You crossed the room over to where the drinks were. You couldnât tell if the room was charmed to be slightly purple or if it was the night sky above you. Either way, the ambiance certainly added to your intoxication as you neared the edge of the room. You almost didnât realize someone slipping up behind you.
"Are you teasing me, Y/N?" Remus asked, cornering you by the drinks table as you spun around. He moved quickly, and you peered behind him to check for any lingering marauders.
"I'm always teasing you idiots," you sassed, turning to grab a bottle off the table. Remus seemed to step even closer to you. If one of the boys saw you like this, they'd certainly take notice. He was being bold. Luckily, you were hidden by an abnormally large globe and the mist that seemed to float about the room.
"I see you everyday," Remus challenged, huffing out a laugh, "and I've never noticed you looking at me with those eyes, Y/N." You hummed as you filled two shot glasses.
âWhat eyes?â You asked innocently, looking up at him through your lashes as you held out a shot for him. He scoffed out another laugh and took the shot from you.
âCheers, love,â he winked, clanking his glass with yours before downing the shot. You followed suit, happy to consume some liquid courage. He leaned in closer to you and lowered his voice, âYou know, you should really be careful wearing something like that.â
âWhyâs that?â You swallowed, the burn from the shot making your cheeks hot.
âYou might catch someoneâs attention who you donât want,â Remus said darkly, making you bite your lip. Youâd never seen him like this before.
âAnd what if I catch the attention of someone I do want?â You asked coyly, looking up at him again through a tantalizing gaze. Remus scoffed again for the third time, as if he couldnât believe your audacity.
âAnd who is it that you want, Y/N? Hmm?â He asked, more of a challenge. At this point, you were certain that he wanted you. That, or you were about to be in serious trouble. Either way, the risk seemed worth the reward.
âYou.â
Something broke in Remus as he stepped forward again, impossibly closer as his hands met your hips.
"You mean to tell me you wore this dress, just to get my attention?" He laughed, his voice low and teasing. You bit your lip and blushed, trying to hide your blatant satisfaction. Remus was smarter than he looked.
"Mmhm," you nodded, your poorly hidden smile spreading to his face.
"Fuck, Y/N," he broke and turned to scan the room, his hands still grasping your hips. You stared up at him, watching his jaw tense as he tried to locate the marauders. His hands were burning through your dress as you stood completely still. You felt relieved when he muttered, "Follow Me," and ushered you towards the exit. You weren't sure where your brother was, but you trusted Remus to get you into the hallway. Once you had exited the doors, he wasted no time as he pressed you into the wall, the force causing you to gasp. He held you in place as he pressed his forehead into yours.
"Can I kiss you?" he whispered and you almost scoffed. You tugged him by the collar and collided his mouth with yours, groaning when he deepened the kiss immediately. His hands were greedy, grabbing at your body as he pushed himself against you. This was even better than your dreams. All sense left your body as he continued kissing down your neck. He pressed his knee roughly in between your legs. A moan left you lips as he bit down, nipping and sucking at your skin.
"Fuck, Remus," you panted, your hips rolling up towards his body. He grunted and pushed you back against the wall. Who knew Remus Lupin would be so intense?
"Can I take you back?" he breathed heavily, as if he was barely holding onto his control.
"Do you even have to ask?" you teased, his body flush against your own. He huffed out a laugh as he kissed your neck again.
"You know I have to ask, Y/N," Remus muttered darkly, as though the act of asking in itself was a violation. And maybe it was, but you couldn't care less about the line he was crossing.
"Does this answer your question?" You whispered, pulling his hand down to touch you. He cursed under his breath as he felt you, his hand seeming to move on its own as he ran his fingers up your soaking panties. It took him a minute to regain focus.
"Okay, let's go," he commanded, guiding you down the hallway with haste. You giggled as he held your waist, moving you quickly towards the Gryffindor tower. You couldn't believe this was actually happening. It surprised and satisfied you that your plan had worked, that you'd managed to tip Remus over so far that he was bringing you back to his dorm.
"You're moving so fast," you fussed as he dragged you up the stairs. His legs were significantly longer than yours.
"M' sorry," he muttered, his eyes focused ahead. "I don't want to waste any time." His urgency was contagious, and you felt yourself pick up the pace. He released you as you stepped through the portrait hole, his grip loosening with surprising restraint. He was careful, and as much as it didn't concern you in the moment, you were glad at least one of you was being responsible. There weren't many people in the common room, everyone either asleep or at the party. Remus' hand found your back once again as he silently steered you towards the boys dorms. You went up the staircase until you reached their door, looking back at Remus for permission before opening it. The windows let in slivers of moonlight and a cooling breeze. Remus shut the door behind you and turned you around. Somehow his faced seemed more real as he stood there, his eyes searching your face.
"Remus," you breathed, feeling the weight of his gaze. He huffed out a breath through his nose, stepping close to you.
"Just tell me Y/N," he said, his hands finding your neck, "Just tell me if you want me to stop."
"I want you," you whined, standing on your tip toes and pulling him down by the neck. He gratefully returned the motion, groaning as his mouth found yours. Remus was everything you'd expected and more. He knew what he was doing, and his blatant want for you made your legs buckle under his touch. He walked you backwards, lifting you by the thighs and lowering you carefully onto his bed. His hand smoothed its way over your leg, pushing up the hem of your dress. His thumb swiped against your front, causing your back to lift slightly under his touch. He hummed into your mouth as he ground his hips down into yours. You could feel him through his pants, and you groaned at his size. Fucking hell. You ran your finger nails down the back of his shirt. Remus pulled his wand out of his pocket and closed his curtains, sitting up on his knees and unbuttoning his shirt. You watched, mesmerized by the show in front of you. The scars that ran down his chest, lower to his abdomen, and lower...
"My eyes are up here, darling," Remus teased, smirking down at you as he tugged off his shirt. You swallowed, looking up at his eyes which were no less intimidating than his body. He scoffed out a laugh as he climbed over you, running his fingertips down your body.
"If your intention was to get my attention all night, you did a good job," he breathed, pressing his finger into your clit. "Such a good job."
He stifled your moan with his mouth, his kiss wet and needy. His fingers moved carefully over your panties, provoking a response from your body that you'd never experienced before. You were trying your best to keep up with his kiss, but the overwhelming sensation of Remus had you melting into the bed.
"Oh, fuck," you moaned, throwing your head back into the pillow as his fingers moved underneath the fabric. He hummed as he began to kiss roughly down your neck. His fingers swiped over your slickness, teasing your entrance. You grasped onto him tighter, your nails digging into his shoulder as he plunged a finger inside you. He pushed himself up to watch you as he pumped another finger into you, you hips moving rhythmically with his hands. By this point, you looked a complete mess with your dress bunched around your middle and your mouth in a permanent gasp. You groaned as you felt yourself beginning to pulse on the brink of an orgasm.
"Fuck, Y/N. Are you going to cum?" Remus mocked you, he fingers stealdiy curly up inside of you.
"Y-yea. M' gonna cum," You whimpered, screwing your eyes shut. Remus muttered a curse under his breath before ducking his head and finding his way in between your thighs. Without warning, he buried himself in you, lapping at your clit while pinning you down by the waist. You grasped at his hair, attempting to pull him off of you but it was no use. He was humming into you as you moved in circle around his face, teetering on the verge of your orgasm. He let out a particularly throaty grunt that sent you over the edge. You let out a muffled cry as you spilled your juices onto his tongue repeatedly. He finished you up, humming as he began to kiss up your body until he hovered over you again. You pulled him down into a rough kiss, your hips snapping up to feel his hard on. "You're so perfect, Y/N," Remus praised, pulling your dress down over your bum. Your tits were now fully exposed, Remus' hands and eyes exploring over your body like he was trying to memorize you. "So perfect... I want you so badly..." He groaned, kissing over you chest and rubbing your tit in his hand. You groaned with pleasure.
"Then have me." You didn't hesitate to pull off the rest of your clothes, helping Remus unbutton his pants and pull them over his ankles. He did the same with his boxers, his length springing free. You bit your lip at the sight, a little nervous for how big he was. This didn't deter you though as you sat on your knees and leaned forward, beckoning him to use you.
"You're so fucking-â Remus let out a groan as he pushed himself inside your mouth, grabbing the back of your head with his hand. You wet his shaft with your tongue, moaning as he began to move down your throat. "So fucking good." His praises made you clamp your knees together, groaning again as you took him as far as you could handle. He gripped your hair roughly and throat fucked you for a few seconds before pulling you off, as if he couldn't control himself. "Turn around."
You did as you were told and spun around onto you hands. He pushed you chest down into the bed lined himself up with your entrance. You tried to sit back onto him, but his other hand held your hips firmly in place.
"Please, Remus," you choked out, your face buried into the mattress. He groaned as he pushed into you slowly, stretching you out with every inch he pressed inside of you.
"Oh, fuck," Remus breathed, moving slowly to let you adjust to his size. This consideration didn't last long before he was pounding you into his mattress, calling you filthy names and tugging on your hair. All the restraint he seemed to have went out the window as he fucked you mercilessly from behind.
"R-Remus. Fuck- me-" you cried, whimpering with every thrust. His hand gripped your hip with a squeeze as he leaned over your body.
"You're taking me so well," He breathed, running his hand under you body. He snaked his hand over your tit and pulled you up against him, making you gasp with pleasure from the new angle. "You're doing so good, angel."
He had you melting from his touch as your body gave out underneath his hands. He bit your neck gently, sucking and kissing on the sweet spot he had found earlier. You groaned as your head lulled back on his shoulder. This was not what you were expecting. You had no complaints though as he reached down between your legs and started pressing on your clit, pushing himself deep inside of you.
âR-Remus,â you warned, struggling to hold yourself up. You could feel a knot forming in your stomach for the second time as his thick cock moved inside of you, putting more pressure on your nerves.
âJust like that, Y/N,â he murmured, his strong hands holding you in place. âJust let go, sweetheart.â
You didnât have to be told twice as you let yourself release around him, guttural sounds coming out of your mouth. You had no time to feel embarrassed over your moans as he pushed you back on the bed and started fucking you senseless.
âSo good, fuck me,â Remus mutter incoherently as he rammed himself inside of you, grabbing at your hips. You looked back at him to watch, and were not disappointed at the sight. When his eyes locked onto yours, he broke. He snapped his hips haphazardly as he released himself inside of you. You moaned again at the feeling of Remus Lupin filling you up with his cum. He thrust into you one last time before falling over you, moving your hair to one side to kiss your neck.
âSo fucking good, Y/N,â he praised again, cleaning the both of you up with an impressive flick of his wand. You hummed and turned yourself around in a fucked out daze. He watched you pout as you pulled weakly on his neck. He chuckled under his breath and came down to kiss you. The two of you stayed like that for a while, lazily kissing as his hands rubbed gently down your body, a stark contrast from his rough actions just moments ago.
âI should probably go,â you frowned as he came up for air. He mirrored your response and sighed.
âYouâre probably right,â he said, pushing himself off of you. âHere, let me grab you a shirt.â He pulled on his own pants before you heard him shuffle to his trunk. Just as you were about to move to get up, you heard someone bounding up the stairs.
âShit,â you whispered, frozen in place. You saw Remusâ hands toss a shirt through the curtain before retreating, and you gratefully put it on. Luckily, your dress was still under you. You heard Remus kick your shoes under his bed.
âMoony? Whyâd you leave so early?â You heard Sirius ask with a slight slur, stumbling into the room.
âStarted boking,â Remus replied casually. âI feel like shit, Iâm just gonna go to bed.â Sirius hummed and fell on his bed. You heard him kick off his shoes and manuveur himself under the sheets.
âYou and me both, Moons,â Sirius groaned, seemingly too drunk to care about any lie Remus was spewing. Remus moved towards his bed.
âAlright, well. Gânight,â Remus murmured, climbing into bed quickly.
âGânight,â Sirius muttered, rummaging through something. You looked to Remus with concern, who only put his finger to his lips as he came to lay down next to you. His haphazard smile seemed to relax you a bit as he pulled you into your chest, humming with content.
âJust go to sleep, love,â he whispered quietly and kissed your head. âIâll get you back safe and sound.â Perhaps it was against your better judgement, but you seemed to trust Remus wholly to take care of you. That and your body was completely exhausted from him. You murmured a goodnight as you buried yourself into his neck, falling asleep to the sound of his heartbeat. At some point, you heard your brother come in with Peter. Remus momentarily tensed causing you to shift. His grasp tightened on you before he heard Sirius grumble something along the lines of âsickâ to James and the room fell silent again.
The second time you stirred, you felt Remus pulling away from you. You mumbled lightly, confused as to why he was getting out of bed. He turned to shush you quietly before stepping out. You heard him shuffle across the room.
âJames,â he whispered, âJames, wake up.â You sat up quietly in his bed. What the fuck was he doing?
âMm,â James groaned, turning in his bed. âMoony?â
âYea itâs me,â Remus said quickly. âCan I borrow your cloak? I think a Slytherin charmed my drink last night and I need to go on a quick mission.â You rolled your eyes at this. Remus was smart, and his lies would perfectly convince James. He would never turn down a prank.
âOh, shit,â James said, slightly more awake. âDo you want me to come?â
âNo,â Remus answered quickly. âUh, no. Iâll be super quick. I just canât sleep until I know I got back at them.â This seemed to appease James as you heard him fall back into bed.
âSure, Moony,â James yawned. âItâs in my trunk.â You heard Remus shuffle through his trunk before coming back around to the other side of your bed. You heard him slip on some shoes before holding the curtain open, once again holding his finger to his lips. You rolled your eyes at this and quietly stepped out of the bed, thankfully blocked by the rest of the room. Remus threw the cloak over the both of you and guiding you to the door, trying to be as quiet as possible. Both of you felt relief as you stepped into the stairway, making your way down to the common room. Nobody was here at this hour. Remus threw the cloak off of you.
âIâm sorry about that,â he said, spinning you around to face him. âI shouldâve been more careful.â You shook your head.
âItâs fine, I didnât mind using you as my pillow for a bit,â you chuckled lightly. âBesides, I couldâve used a bit more caution myself.â You blushed shyly at him. You hadnât been the most discreet throughout the whole ordeal. Remus laughed at this and ran his thumbs across your hips, causing you to shiver. You wore only his oversized shirt and your panties.
âNah,â Remus said with his lopsided grin. âI think I quite like your obvious pining for me.â You slapped his chest lightly as he chuckled. âIâll just have to work extra hard to keep you to myself.â He leaned in to kiss you, and you felt your heart leap. So much for getting over your crush.
âHmm, Iâll guess Iâll have to keep trying to get you attention then,â you whispered, pulling back from his lips. He hummed and kissed you again, as if he couldnât get enough.
âGo get some sleep, love. Iâm sure you need it,â he teased, flashing another grin at you. You rolled your eyes at him but couldnât keep your smile down.
âGoodnight, Remus.â You started towards the girls dormitories.
âGoodnight, Y/N.â
Remus found himself staying in the common room with Jamesâ cloak, not wanting to return too early. He tried to convince himself this was a bad idea, but he couldnât justify it. There really wasnât anything that could stop him from fucking you again. His mind flashed with images of your perfect eyes looking back at him as he rammed himself inside of your perfect pussy. His head fell back onto the couch with a thud. He was a goner.

đĄđđđ«đ đŹđĄđđ©đđ đąđŠđđ đąđ§đ âsend me a shy!reader request for any character (with a plot) and I'll write a >1k drabble
sirius/james introducing shy!reader to remus. and shes just like quiet and in awe, but remus loves it.
luveline's 40k party â tysm for requesting! remus x shy fem!reader
James is used to your personality after months of being your lecture neighbour, unperturbed by your quiet. "It's going to be fun," he promises, handing you a cold glass of cranberry vodka. "They're nice, okay? I won't let anyone irritate you."Â
He's hosting a party and had the generosity to invite you round early. He's easing you in, so to speak. It took him two weeks of steady Hellos for you to work up the courage to say Hi back, another two weeks for small talk, a month before you felt comfortable speaking to him first. If you're that shy, a party is basically torture.
"It's not about irritating me," you say.Â
"I know, I'm messing." James lists his head to the left. A second later, there's a knock at the door. "Aha. Wait here, shortcake, there's someone I want you to meet."Â
"James," you say after him, wet from your glass leaking down to your sleeve, "what?"Â
"I asked him to come early and say hello! He's quiet and handsome and you'll love him, just don't stare at his nose."Â
What's wrong with his nose? you think, alarmed.Â
James opens the door. Two new voices emerge, one scratchy and a little high, the other smoother. "I need to pee so bad," the scratchy one declares, followed by bounding footsteps up the stairs.Â
"You alright?" the smoother asks.
You think there's patting, a hug, "I'm brilliant! You smell really nice, Remus, like a garden."Â
"Lovely."
"In a good way! Come and meet my Y/N, you remember I told you about her nice gel pens?"Â
James leads the smooth-voiced Remus into the living room. You hurriedly put down your drink and stand, wiping your wet hands in your shirt. You cringe at the darkening fabric but hide your grimace as they stop in front of you.Â
"Remus, Y/N. Y/N, Remus," James introduces you both.Â
Remus has a scar across his nose that seems cruelly cut. There's another beside it that starts in his upper lip, both of which end in his eyebrow. You know how self-conscious it feels to be looked at, so you manage to smile and offer your hand without too much of it. He's handsome with his scars, a nice nose with a ridge and brown eyes the colour of caramelised sugar.
"Hello," Remus says, shaking your hand. His is big enough to make yours feel small.Â
"I invited her early because she's more fun than the rest of our lot," James says, throwing himself down on the sofa and kicking his legs out on the coffee table.Â
Remus taps your elbow very gently as if to usher you to sit and sits down beside you, enough space to be casual but too little to stop the rampant nerves that blossom in your stomach.Â
Remus asks about your life. What you're studying, where you're from, if James is being nice to you. While James is touchy in the rough older brother way, scrunching your shoulder and shaking you when you're not expecting it. Remus is touchy in a different way, you find, almost as if he doesn't know he's doing it. His shoe bumps your shoe, his hand falls down between his outer thigh and your own, his knuckles touching your jeans very lightly. He spins in his seat to talk to you.Â
You don't notice other people arriving, nor the scratchy-voiced friends return. All you can do is look up at Remus with wide eyes. Your nerves meld to something warmer.Â
"And what do you do?" you ask him.Â
He smiles like you've wandered into a secret. "I'm trying to write a book."Â
"He's being a bit much," Sirius says to James, the two now loitering in the doorway with matching beers. You and Remus chatter on, unaware of their running commentary.
"It's a very strong reaction. I knew she'd like him, but I didn't think she'd like him like that." James takes a sip of his drink. Remus asks you a quiet question. You duck your head, playing with your sleeves, and Remus, the bastard, ducks his head to follow your gaze, smiling at you all the while.Â
James almost chokes, pointing his bottle toward you both as though Sirius isn't already looking. "He's eating it up. I forgot how flirty he is."
"She'll be nice to him, won't she?" Sirius asks, like it's a done deal. To be fair, Remus seems enthralled with you.Â
"Definitely. She's very nice. Oh, look, that's sick, she's gonna pass out." James winces as Remus takes your arm into his hand.Â
Remus wouldn't do anything cruel, but James wasn't joking when he told Remus that you were exceedingly, achingly shy. He's about to step in and rescue you, but you turn into Remus' touch and pull your leg up on the sofa to make yourself comfortable. Your voice is animated, if quieter than the average person's.
"Woah," James says, beaming. Â
Remus flirts almost as a defence, like he wants to get the rejection over and done with so he can move on. You've yet to reject; you're looking up at him in moderate awe, your lips quirked into an easy smile.Â
"Boo!" James calls, flicking his bottle cap at Remus, who brushes it away. "Took me three weeks to get a smile out of her," he mutters. "What a dick."Â

Hi love,
Can I ask for a 7:17 pm for Remus Lupin?
Thank you!
7.17 PM | REMUS LUPIN
"come closer, i can't even reach you." remus says, his soapy hands are on your waist. "little minx."
"i'm not doing anything!" you laugh, the sound echoes in the bathroom. "i just don't want to put all my weight on you."
"what's the point of being in the tub together if i'm not gonna hold you on me?" remus asks, he pulls you to his lap in the water and presses a sound kiss on your shoulder. "you smell perfect."
you let yourself melt against him. the evening lights are bright but faint in the bathroom, remus looks all calm and content with his wet hair and clean face. you're no different, your hair all soaked and your bare back faces him, giving him great opportunity for kisses.
he makes the best of it, of course. you are covered by bubbly kisses, all over your back and your shoulders. you tilt your head back to him, and now he can reach your neck. it's his favorite, he rubs his nose under the softness of your ear and takes a deep breath.
"you promised to wash my hair." you say with a slightly tired voice. "i'm gonna fall asleep if you keep kissing me."
remus smiles fondly. "as if you won't fall asleep when i wash your hair."
"remus-"
"sweetheart." god, he's so sickly in love, he loses his mind. "such a sweet, sweet girl you are. you deserved a nice bath, didn't you? been so good all week long."
this is the best part, he is proud of you and he's never hesitant with his words. he soaks you up in love, kissing everywhere he can find and drowning you in many many endearments.
"settle down, baby." you sit between his legs. "i always keep my promises, hmm?"
"yeah." you whisper as he starts applying shampoo on your scalp. his fingers are long and heavenly. "you're the best. the bestest."
remus loves when you go all mindless and soft on him, he only tries to take care of you when you need some time to rest. the warm water envelopes your bodies, his fingers slide easily in your hair as he massages your scalp. you make the tiniest noises, he gives your shoulder another soapy kiss.
"don't fall asleep." he says, he knows it's useless. you already closed your eyes.
"i'm not sleeping." you tell him. "only resting my eyes."
you're the prettiest liar he ever knows.

Like Real People Do
Remus Lupin x Animagus!Reader
âââââââ ââ ËâĄË àŁȘ âââââââ
Summary: Fox Animagus!Reader falls in love with Remus after waking up next to him in the hospital wing...
Warnings: Mentions of injuries and scars, reader is fem presenting and referred to with she/her pronouns, mostly fluff with a sprinkle of angst, only one mention of the other Marauders
Word Count: 1.1K
Masterlist
âââââââ ââ ËâĄË àŁȘ âââââââ
Streams of light trickled down your face, soft skin slick with sweat that reflected the natural glow beaming from the window above. A beating pulse ran through your head, only worsening with every slight move you made to sit up in a bed that wasnât your own.
You groaned at the feeling of hospital sheets weighing your body down, cascading down your form to pool around your hips as you straightened your back to stretch.
Your body ached with harsh evidence of the night before, and a pained cry bounced around the walls as you twisted and turned. A cry that was not your own.
Blinking once, twice, you turned your attention to the figure sat beside you, positioned to mirror you in a bed adorned with thin sheets that had crumpled under the weight of a restless sleep.
Remus Lupin stared wide-eyed at your torn body after stretching a muscle or two, gaze flickering from your face to the scars trailing down your back. You observed him with a similar curiosity, memorising every cut and tear blessing his soft skin.
âSeems we both got into some trouble, thenâŠâ you mused, voice laced with the remnants of sleep. The Gryffindor gazed at you with a shy blush dancing on each cheek, smiling bashfully despite his aching pains.
His gaze fell below yours once again, eyes growing wider before looking away towards his own torso. You followed his previous stare with a puzzled expression before grabbing at the sheets around you to cover your exposed bra, blushing in a deep embarrassment that Remus could only describe as endearing.
âI suppose you alsoâŠtransform?â He said cautiously, careful to not expose himself as an Animagus if he misjudged you. âYeah I- transform,â you responded with his own word choice, âThough sometimes I canât control it, last night wasnât meant to happenâŠâ you trailed off.
He gave you a pitiful smile, shifting to face you while stretching his arm behind his neck, âI know what you mean, I transform every full moonâŠâ he hints.
Remus was a quiet, caring boy, completely unlike his Animagus form. You had spoken a handful of times before about your shared love for Defence Against the Dark Arts. You had clearly underestimated your overwhelming similarities that you unpicked like the sleeves of an unraveling sweater over the unlikely pillow talk that followed your chance encounter.
You quickly discovered that you were the sly, red fox to his dark, brooding wolf, a fact that made you all the more drawn to the boy. You carefully moved to sit on his hospital bed despite your growing pains, whispering in soft understanding as you both awaited Madam Pomfreyâs dotting care.
âââââââ ââ ËâĄË àŁȘ âââââââ
A few months later and the leaves have shifted to a golden hue since that bright summerâs morning, only visible under the full moon. You stalked through the forbidden forest, walking in line with Remusâ large dorm.
Aching from a night of battles and mischief, your sleek auburn body began to shift uncomfortably in your pace as you found yourself becoming more human by the minute.
You had grown all but inseparable with the werewolf after that fateful morning, quickly falling into a comfortable routine of tracing each otherâs scars while muttering praises of admiration.
The bright moon illuminated your path, your boyfriendâs fierce eyes softened with a lidded gaze under the rays of light.
The sun threatened to tip over the horizon in a mere few hours as you slunk home side by side with the strong wolf. You fought back sleep, foxy red hair shining in Hogwartsâ glow as you clambered along the stone path.
You had never longed for the awkward feeling of hospital fabrics across your aching body as much as you did on this tiring night. Your monthly visits to hospital beds were no longer lonely as you entered hand in hand with the tall boy every time, relaxing under the cooling touch of mattress to skin.
Fully transformed and gripping the walls of the castle, you groaned as you began to sulk in the direction of Madam Pomfrey, as you had done every other treacherous night out.
âL-love, wait a minute,â Remus called in a stutter, âwhy donât we just tend to ourselves tonight?â
Stopping in your tracks, you pondered his proposition for a moment, head aching as you turned to look between your boyfriend and the entrance to the hospital wing further down the hall.
âIâll fix you up while you tend to me. WeâŠwe can fall asleep in each otherâs arms, just for one night,â he continued to hiss and groan, holding his side with one hand while reaching for you with the other, âLike a- a normal coupleâŠâ
Silently, you nodded at the pleading boy with a pained smile, moving into lean against his tall body, adorned with scars. You limped in tow towards the Gryffindor dorms, contact unwavering at his decorated side.
âââââââ ââ ËâĄË àŁȘ âââââââ
The door to the Marauderâs dorm closed with a soft thud, Remus making sure to not alert his roommates to your arrival.
You tossed yourself onto his bed, closing the surrounding curtains as Remus fetched various remedies from his desk. He slid between the fabric enclosure as you muttered a silencing charm before letting out a pained sigh.
Remus made quick work of your wounds, applying ointment to your bare back before you did the same. The night air pushed a refreshing breeze through the dormâs open window that shifted the fabric surrounding you like waves over land.
Overwhelmed with relief from the mutual healing, you pushed yourself down to splay across the bed, joining your boyfriend with your head to his pillow.
âWe are a normal couple, you know,â you murmured, âwell, as normal as we can get. Hospital wing visits will never change that.â Remus gazed into your glossy eyes, slick with sleep. âI know, love, I know. Itâs just- nights like these make me want to fall asleep with my girl in my arms, like real people doâŠâ
You hummed at his reply, lips forming a soft smile as you inched closer to the werewolf. âWe are real. This is real.â You planted a delicate kiss to his pink lips, his eyes fluttering closed at the contact, in sync with your own.
âThis is real.â
You encircled his legs with your own, blending your face with his chest and your hands with the back of his neck. He nuzzled into your hair, muttering sweet nothings as you drifted to sleep.
âI love you, sweet fox,â he spoke softly, only to be met with the quiet snores of his sleeping girlfriend, before joining you in slumber.

Gentleman | R.L.
summary: remus lupin is the perfect gentleman.
pairing: remus lupin x fem!reader
includes: fluff, you and sirius are practically siblings, rem defending his girlfriend, someone gets pushed off a boat
a/n: all my inspo literally comes from the music i listen to đ
James had invited the entire group down to the lake for the summer because it was the last summer before the last year of Hogwarts. He thought it should be memorable, and everyone loved the idea. His parents allowed him to borrow the lake house and boat, but only if everyone's parents were okay with it. Of course, your parents trusted you with your friends. The only rule was to stay in separate rooms from your boyfriend. Oopsies.
As the Pottersâ boat slowed to a calm stop, the summer wind continued to blow through the air, the clouds nonexistent in the blue sky. The sun shimmered across the lake water and the radio played the top hits of the month, the sound drowning from the talking of the boatâs riders.
When Sirius had enough of all the chitchat, he quickly shed himself of his top and jumped into the lake water, splashing Marlene who was trying to tan on the boats end. She cursed him out and threatened to pull the ladder away when he splashed her again.
Witnessing the entire interaction, you hid a laugh behind a smile and left the girls to sit beside Remus who was sitting underneath the shade of the boat. You tucked your legs underneath your lap and leaned your chin on his shoulder. On instinct, his calloused hand found the space underneath your calf and gently squeezed even when talking to James. You admired his face glowing in the sun for a beat, eyes following the scars that were left behind from bad nights before he finally turned and met your loving eyes.
âHey.â You murmur and grin when you felt him press a soft kiss to your lips. âSirius just went into the water." He hummed and kissed you again, making you hum and separate once more. "You don't want to join him?â
âAnd leave you here all by yourself? What type of man do you think I am?â He thumbed your leg and felt for the rushing blood, ensuring there was a pule and that you were in fact real. It was a habit he was quick to have learned because of a full moon incident a year ago.
You shrug and rest your cheek on his shoulder instead, watching the gulls fly by and circle the food James was grilling. As he tried fighting them off with tongs, Lily and Dorcas began to draw sunscreen images on Marlene's back, not bothering to cover up their giggles.
âYou donât want to join the girls?â Remus tilted his head and scanned your side profile, following the contour of your face. He memorized every single bump and crease, gingerly tucking a piece of loose hair behind your ear when you looked back over at him.
You raise a brow at his guilty smile and analyze his mannerism, rubbing the one bit of sunscreen into his cheek. "What?"
âYou just wanna stay in the shade with me, don't you, dovey?" He brought his hand up and gently cupped your cheek, pulling you close enough so he could press a kiss to your temple.
âOf course, wherever you are, I follow.â You grin as a blush creeps up your neck, not realizing Sirius had gotten out of the water and rolled his eyes at how affectionate the both of you were being.
âYou two are so gross." He covered his eyes before shaking his head like the dog he was â ridding himself of all the water he brought up with him.
You groaned when you got hit with the water, glaring at the long-haired boy. He stuck his tongue out at you which you retaliated with your middle finger. You swore that Sirius had a secret hatred for you since you began dating Remus over a year ago.
Sirius gasped at your gesture and put a hand on his chest, returning the finger. Remus rolled his eyes at the both of you and gave you a pointed look, making you cover it with your hand.
"Prongs, do something! The lady won't go down without a fight!" SIrius complained and popped a soda can out of the cooler, leaning against the railing of the boat.
âMate, I donât know what you want me to do.â James threw him a confused look and reached inside the cooler to hand Lily her own can. "Besides, I can't do much here."
âYou could toss her over board." Sirius muttered loud enough for you to whip your head toward him and glare.
"You were being mean first!" You move to stand only to be pulled back down into your seat. From the corner of your eye, you saw Remus pursing his lips in thought, making you sigh. "Remâ"
âSit.â He practically commanded, rolling his eyes once more when you crossed your arms and legs in annoyance. But when you noticed his quick wink, you realize what he was going to do.
You smiled slyly toward Sirius when he met your eyes again. The poor unsuspecting bloke. Sirius gave you an annoyed look and went to say something â probably insulting all women â when Remus pulled him aside.
Assuming Remus was going to hangout with him instead of you, Sirius stuck his tongue out before yelping in surprise as Remus pushed him off the boat. Your eyes widened with a smile, stretching your neck to see where Sirius was flailing. The three girls burst out into laughter at the predicament and quickly moved away from all the splashing water, grabbing a polaroid to take a picture before he could get out. James just shook his head in disbelief, clasping his arm around Siriusâ and helping him up.
Remus tossed a towel in Sirius' direction before sitting beside you again, kissing the side of your head like nothing happened. You gave him cheeky smile and laced your hand with his.
âWhat a gentleman.â You chide before letting out a noise of surprise at the feeling of his lips on yours, dropping your hand to lay flat on his chest.
âSome gentleman you are.â Sirius muttered as he dried himself off. When he realized Remus was staring back at him with an unimpressed look, he took a huge step back behind James and quickly apologized. âKidding, Iâm kidding.â
You send him another death glare before staring up at Remus with soft eyes as he thumbed your palm, a small smile taking over your face. "You know we're probably going to get pranked anytime soon, right?"
"As long as I spend quality time with you, I think I'll be fine. Besides, he won't try anything too bad." Remus tilted your head up with his index finger. "I'm a gentleman anyway."

Remus Lupin x fem! hufflepuff! werewolf! reader
Summary: After an eventful summer, Remusâ finds his girlfriend being distant, but it isnât until the the next full moon he realises why
Warnings: swearing, mentions of eating, scars, greyback, violence, sex and nudity (non-sexual), kissing, established relationship, hurt/comfort
A/n: 4.1k words, I am back and taking requests, i havenât written anything for over a year so things might be a little rusty, please bare with me as i get back into the groove of writing but Iâm so happy to be back writing again, thank you so much for the request, enjoy âĄ
Navigation | Remus Lupin Masterlist
Remusâ leg bobbed impatiently, eyes darting to the entrance everytime someone entered hoping it was you yet he was only met with disappointment. His mood did lighten as he saw his friends enter, chuckling as he watched James walk into the table as he tried to woo Lily.
âYou alright?â he asks trying not to smile to hard as James groansÂ
âEh itâs nothingâ he cringes sitting opposite, Peter by his side, while Sirius plops himself down next to Remus âDid she laugh at least?â he ignores his pain and embarrassment, only thinking of the girl sitting little ways down from them now, giggling with Marlene and Alice
âYeah Prongs, she laughedâ he tells a little white lie, though heâs sure Lily probably did think it slightly adorable
âWhere's your lovely lady?â Sirius asks, scanning the Hufflepuff table for you
Remus sighs âShe hasnât appeared yetâ he knew you were probably catching up with your friends, they had both been away with their families travelling so you hadnât seen them eitherâŠheâd never admit it but he was a tad jealous he wasnât going to get to hug you first
âOiâ heâs pulled from his gloom by Sirius nudging him, pointing towards the door âSpeak of the angel and there she shall appearâ he grins, his point turning itâs a little wave at you and your friends
Remus lights up, heart warming at your shy smile and slight embarrassment when both Peter and James join in waving to youâŠin fact they couldnât see but Marlene, Lily and Alice had all begun to wave as well. You grant them a small wave back as you head to find a seat, Amos joining you as he smiles at them, while Alex shoots a wink and a small salute, the former towards one particular marauder.Â
âHappy now?â James grins at his friend
Remus nods bringing his gaze back to you as Dumbledore starts his speech, he barely listens, doubting itâs any more interesting this year than it has been the last six. Instead he admires you, heâd missed you so much, more than he realised in fact, the boy couldnât take his eyes off you. His gaze drifted across your features, while he noted your face did look a little hollow, his mind had other ideas, asking you if you had been eating properly could come later, but for now his eyes fixated on your lips as he daydreamed about kissing you, touching you, fâŠ
âHaâŠbest behaviour for the younginsâŠâ Sirius brings him back to reality, chuckling to himself â...thatâll be right?â turning his gaze to him, before he starts to grin âMoony missinâ her too eh?â he wiggles his eyebrows noting Remusâ blown pupils and guilty look
If he wasnât already bright in the face Remus was scarlet now âShut upâ he grumbles trying to compose himself, face riddled with embarrassment but it softens as he realises your looking overÂ
Hi, he mouthsÂ
Hi, you mouth back with a small smile before turning your attention to the front once more but somethings off, he can feel it
You felt awful, every bone in your body ached, and it didnât help that your skirt's waistband was rubbing against last month's scar. You were grateful none were too visible, the biggest were along your waist and hips from the initial attack, though there was one other on your arm, it could easily be written off as a fall or cat scratch, the former being the one used likely use as it lined up with a real fall you had written to Remus about over summer.
Remus
You sighed as you glanced over at him, finding his attention had finally moved back to his friends, most likely plotting their first prank of the year. It was easy to pretend in your letters, thankfully he hadnât come looking for you on the train but you knew you would have to talk to him eventually. Would he know? Would he be able to sense you were now like him? Would he see you as he saw himself? Would he think you a monster?
Am I a monster now?
âHeyâŠâ youâre broken out of your gaze, a soft hand finding your shoulder, followed by your friend's kind smile â...are you alright?â Alex asks, knowing something is wrong, just not what
âYou can tell us anythingâ Amos adds, smiling on your other side âYouâve been quietâ and he was right, youâd barely said two words to them since kings cross that morning
How do I tell them? you think eyes wellingÂ
ââHey heyâ Amos turns you around as you try to look away, making you face him âYou donât have to tell usâŠâ he assures and you almost want to cry more, you had such wonderful friends â...but let us help youâÂ
âAnything you need, sunshineâ Alexâs smile grows into a smirk âWe do hugs, skipping out on welcome feasts early, hexesâŠâ that one makes you giggle causing the two boys faces to light up
âThink we could start with a group hug?â you look up at them, the welling tears dissipating as they waste no time wrapping you up in a warm embrace
âLove, wait up!â
You close your eyes, scrunching your face a little as you stop, trying to put on your best act as you turn back around to greet your boyfriend as he lightly jogs towards you
âOh hiâ you smile at him, playing dumb and pretending like you werenât just trying to avoid himâŠagain
Remus stops in front of you âIâve been trying to catch you all day!â he laughs a little bit while you feel guilt swell in your stomach âMerlin Iâve missed you so muchâ he confesses right awayÂ
Dammit, you think, finding yourself folding as you stare up at those big brown eyes of his, it didnât help that your new little wolfy self was acting up either
Youâd noticed the heightened senses, your hearing was impeccable now, and you finally understood why Remus was so prone to irritation, you almost smacked poor Amos in potions earlier for stirring the cauldron a little too loudly. Turns out smell was no different either, Remus smelled absolutely divine, and your wolf earned for him.
âBun?â he gently prods and your heart breaksâŠyou werenât his bunny anymore
The realisation causes you to crumble, almost knocking him over as you wrap your arms around his torso, burying your face in his chest
He chuckles at that, oblivious to the turmoil inside âIâll take that as you missed me tooâ he returns the hug, nose finding your hair
Merlin you smelled great, more so than normal, your pheromones always drove him nuts around the full moon but it was on overdrive now, so much so he finds himself gently shifting, unable to resist waiting to kiss you in a more private location as he brings one hand up to cup the back of your head, while he uses the other to guide your gaze back towards him, but as he moves in he notices the slight glisten in your eyesÂ
âIs something wrong?â he asks, large hands finding your cheeksÂ
You freeze, you never wanted to lie to Remus, you never thought yourself capable, and perhaps you arenât not truely âIâŠI wish I couldâve spent the summer with youâ itâs not a lieâŠbecause if you had, things would be just as they were and nothing would have to changeÂ
His face softens to a downturned smile, his eyes looking at you with such love âYouâre too sweet to meâ he brings you back into a warm embrace âI promise we will next yearâ he tells you, and you squeeze him tighter
You might not want me next year
The next few days went slowly for both of you, you knew Remus had figured out you were avoiding him on purpose. Never before had you been so distant, especially before a full moon. It hurt so much, every time you crossed paths you wanted nothing more than to run to him, hold him, kiss him anywhere he was hurting but you couldnât. You knew how the full moons affected your boyfriend, in fact you could feel it yourself, that desire to be close to the one you love, if you did go to his dorm as you normally did he would see the scars, he would see the bite mark, he would know you werenât his sweet little bunny anymore.
You fell back on your bed, eyes glancing over to the clock, you would need to leave soon if you were to get deep enough into the woods. Your eyes started to water, you didnât want to go, this was only your second moon and it was already unbearableÂ
You had never felt so aloneâŠ
Remus was worried, you never came by to see him, it was so unlike you. These past few days had been so strange to him, he knew something must have happened, he also knew you hadnât spoken to your friends about it as they seemed just as confused as he did, but whatever it was he couldnât fix right now
âThat's us set upâ Sirius pokes his head in averting his eyes from Remusâ unclothed figure âIâm sure she has a good reason moonsâÂ
Remus only nods, waiting until Sirius closes the door before reassuring himself âShe doesâŠâ he brings his legs up to his chest, wrapping his arms around them â...she loves usâŠâ he gently rocks back and forth whispering â...she loves usâ
Meanwhile Sirius makes it out of the willow, meeting James and Peter as they hide their bags for later âHow is he?â Peter asks, looking forlorn as he notices his friend
âHeâs putting on a brave face butâŠâ Sirius shakes his head handing his and Remusâ bags to James â...he needs herâ he puts simply
âI donât understand why she didnât comeâ James says, feeling genuinely confused as he reaches up to tuck away the last of the bags âEven when theyâve been in a fight sheâs always shown upâ
âSomething must have happenedâ Peter looks to James âMaybe tomorrow we could go talk to her friends, surely they knowâ he suggests
James nods, hands finding his hips âYeahâŠyeah that sounds goodâ he agrees, nodding a little more than was necessary in his worry âSirius that a plan?â he and Peter look towards their friend only to find him looking somewhere between confused and concerned âSirius?â
After a few more calls and one branch thrown at him Sirius finally responds âIâŠughâŠlookâ he canât even form a sentence, doing a double take at his friends as he points towards the lining of the trees
James and Peter's eyes scan the area, widening with horror as they see you running towards the tree line. The trio look amongst themselves, their eyes doing the talking as they shift, they didnât have much time to question why you were out here on tonight of all nights but they follow you into a small clearing, watching as you hang your bag on one of the branches, opening it up as you begin to take off your clothes.
Sirius makes a quiet grunt for only the boys to hear as they grasp you are fully stripping down causing them to all look at him instead of you as they give each other confused looks. However you never make it that far, itâs a scream that causes their heads to shoot back in your direction and they watch an all too familiar scene
You did have a good reason for not showing up tonightâŠand it shattered their hearts
They didnât have much time to dwell. Sirius jumps into action first, attempting to distract you from clawing at yourself, while James slowly approaches behind with Peter sitting up on his back acting as a lookout for Remus as if you turned he surely couldnât be far behind.Â
You seem a little startled at first before stalking towards Sirius, you seem to note he isnât scared of you, the boys watch as you calm, your body no longer tense, nor sensing you are in danger and so you let them guide you warily through the woods. In all honesty the boys had no idea what they were doing, they figured if you could sense that Sirius wasnât a threat then maybe you and Remus would recognise each other as such as wellâŠhopefully
As they came towards the clearing they could hear Remus as he whined in pain but the boys had no time to react as you already bolted off. Startled, they try to catch up, but as they move past the tree line they realise youâve already made your way to him, growling.Â
Shit
Theyâre eyes flick between one another, worried they had made the wrong choice until they watch Remus relax, the two of you sniffing around each other before you begin to lick his wounds and it dawns on them that you werenât challenging him, you were berating him for hurting himself.
The rest of the moon went by smoothly, the best the boys had ever seen and it was all thanks to you. By the end Sirius and Peter had managed to herd you and Remus back into the willow while James headed back to get your bag
âI canât believe itâ Peter says in astonishment, sliding down the roots to sit at the entrance beside James âNo wonder sheâs been acting offâ
James hums in agreement, fiddling with the strap of your bag âShe doesnât deserve thisâŠneither of them doâ he states, sadness washing over him âManâŠthis gonna break him when he wakes up, he loves her so muchâ
âHe doesâŠâ the boys jump a little as Sirius reappears from the willow âI didnât want to go in fully for y/nâs sake...but Iâve thrown the blanket in that general direction and wellâŠitâs not like they havenât seen it all beforeâ he makes a face, chuckling softly with the other two as lowers himself to the ground to join them as they decide to try and get a little bit of sleep
At first you didnât know where you were, eyes opening slowly to survey your surroundings, you had expected to wake up in a ditch somewhere but notâŠwait. Your eyes widen, jolting up with a slight hiss as you look around, you were in the shack but if you were in the shack then that meantâŠ
âHeyâŠâ you jump a little at his voice, slowly turning to find Remus sitting just behind you, posted up against the wall, one leg half bent with his arm wrapped around it â...how are you feeling? Any pain?â he asks, strain evident in his voice, he looks broken and it kills you
You can only shake your head, slowly bringing the blanket up to cover yourself, shivering a little from the cold draft âRemâŠâ you say so quietly youâre not even sure youâve said anything at all
âYouâre coldâ he states, wincing a little as he moves over to you, body still aching from from his own transformation âIâm okay, donât worryâ he assures, knowing exactly what you were thinking âHereâ he pulls off his jumper âHands up sweetheartâÂ
You do as you're told, allowing him to slip the jumper over your head. He was being so gentle with you, like you might shatter at a single touch, it shouldnât have surprised you but it did, he must have seen the scars, he must see you differently nowâŠhe mustâŠ
âDo you think Iâm a monster?â you whisper and his movements stop, eyes meeting yours in shock
He blinks at you a couple times before letting out a confused âWhat?â
Your eyes mist âDo you think Iâm a monster?â you repeat, gaze never leaving his
âNoâ he shake his head firmly, hands finding yours âNeverâ he says almost harshly, stunned you would ever think such a thingÂ
âReally?â you eyebrows lift, hope and relief in your voiceÂ
His eyes soften, confusion washing away as he finally sees it, and a bitter sense of deja vu falls over him. Almost a year ago to the day he sat in your position, looking up at you, asking if you fought him, a monster. He even remembers trying to convince you he was but you wouldnât hear it, you refused to believe he was no matter what he said. In the end he stil didnât believed it, but seeing you now, looking at you from the other position he realised just how stupid he had been, how much his own self hatred had made you scared to come to him, made you hate yourself the way he had all this time
âReallyâ he promises âIsâŠâ he hesitates, because heâs almost certain he knows the answer âIs this why you've been avoiding me?â he asks, one hand slipping out of your own to softly cup your cheek
You lean into it, eyes fluttering as your own comes up to cup it âYesâ you confirm and he nods, looking in though âIâm so sorryâŠIâŠâ he cuts you offÂ
âDonât you dareâ he warns âYou arenât turning into me, I wonât allow itâ both hands are cupping your face now âYou havenât changed, not to me, okay? You are still my girl, still my bu-â but you cut him off this time
âBut Iâm not I-â you try to argue but Remus isnât having it
âStopâ he gently shakes your face to regain your attention âYou know why I started to call you bunny?â you shake your head âBecause whenever you get excited you would do this little bounce, you do it when youâre excited to see me, geeking out about a new book and not to mention when weâŠâ he blushes, stopping himself
You feel heat rush to your cheeks âRemmyy!â you gently shove him as you bounce a little in faux annoyance, causing you both to let out little laughsÂ
âThere she isâ he smiles at you, laughing more as you become self aware of your bounces, getting all shy before him âNothing you could ever do would make me think you a monster. Iâm so sorry bun, I never want you to talk about yourself the way I have, understood?â
You hum in agreement, nodding â...but that means you canât be cruel to yourself eitherâ you challenge him, holding your pinky up at him as a small smile gracing your face as you do
Remus clicks his tongue, of course you would use this as a way to help him love himself as well âFineâ he promises, taking your pinky ââŠnow come âereâ he moves back to sit against the wall once more, patting his lap as he hithers for you to join him while you chew on your lip a little, shyly accepting the offer and moving to straddle his legsÂ
âThere we goâ he presses a lingering kiss to your hair, hands wrapping around you while your head falls into his chest âBetter?â
âMuchâ you hum, savouring the moment before you lift your head âI suppose you must have some questions?â you wonder, hands finding his chest, fiddling with buttons of his shirt
âI doâ he confesses, it was only natural âMy attack is hazy for me now because I was so youngâŠâ he softly caresses your cheek â...but itâs fresh for you and IâŠI donât want to pry, I can wait until youâre readyâ he assures you
You take his hand, pressing a soft kiss to his palm âYou remember I told you about my dads case? He was representing the family that was attacked much like you were?â you begin and Remus nods, hands moving to your hips, thumbs gently brushing beneath the hem of his jumper  Â
âYeah, in your letters you said they got them all and your dad was taking you up north to celebrate?â he recalls but then his lips part âThey didnât get them all did they?â
You shake your head âTurns out their was a much bigger player, someone else behind the scenes who was pulling all the stringsâ you explain, eyes falling down to his chest, this is going to kill him
âLoveâŠâ he tries to guide you back to him â...whoâŠâ but as your eyes meet his and they tell allÂ
âRemâ you voice trembles a little
âSay itâ he begs you
âGreybackâ you whisper watching as Remusâ heartbreak sinks into rage, his grip on your hips tightening âRemmyâŠRemâŠâ
He doesnât hear you say his name, everything around him fades as his anger grows. He never wanted to hear that name again, he never wanted to see that monster again but now? All he could think about was ripping him apart, taking away his freedom like he had done to so many, making him feel as weak and powerless as Remus had felt his whole lifeâŠhow you would now feel your whole life
Iâll kill him
âRemâ you gently cup his face pulling back to you âStay with meâ you kiss him softly
His hands come up to meet yours âBut he hurt you, cursed us to be in pain for the rest of our livesâŠand the worst part is heâll be revelling in it allâŠthat bastardâŠheâŠâ his anger sinks into sadness at your comforting touch âheâŠâ he pleads with youÂ
âHe did and we donât ever have to forgive him but we can't let him take away anything else from us either. He wonât ruin our livesâ you watch remusâ eyes soften and you smile at him trying to lighten the mood âBesidesâŠthere's always silver liningsâ
âAnd what would those be?â he tilts his head, struggling to see it
âWellâŠâ you move your hands downward and kiss his cheeks â...if your senses are anything like mine I smell greatâ you giggle and he starts to smile, a loving gaze as he looks up at you âAnd perhaps more importantlyâŠâ you peck his nose making it scrunch in the most perfect way â...youâll never worry about me during a full moonâŠâ you nudge your nose against his â...and that fantasy you have of us living in your parents old cottage can be real, becauseâŠâ you lean in close, lips grazing as your foreheads kiss â...youâll never be alone againâ
Remusâ heart feels like it might burst, you were right, there were silver linings. He had no idea what his life was going to be like after Hogwarts, he knew he couldnât rely on his friends forever, nor could he have asked you to bear that responsibility alone, instead you and he would face it together, care for each other togetherâŠheal together
âPromiseâ he holds up his pinkyÂ
You smile against his lips, wrapping you own pinky around it âPromiseâ and with that he closes the gap
Thank you for reading ⥠(I promise my writing will get smoother again with time)

Heyy astro! So I just fell ill out of nowhere, so I gotta cancel so many plans đ Being sick sucksss, especially when you finally have a break from school đźâđš Could I please ask a nice comforting fic about Remus taking care of reader when she's sick? Possibly with her feeling nauseous (without actually getting sick) and being triggered bc of her Emetophobia? Thanks lovely! đ«¶
Comfort in the Quiet, Calm in the Storm
Hi hun!! Im sorry you're sick :( I hope you feel better and enjoy the fic!!
Remus Lupin x female!reader
Remus helps Y/N feel better when she falls sick!
â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°ââ.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:â
It was a cold evening at Hogwarts when Y/N first felt itâan odd, unsettling sensation in the pit of her stomach. She tried to ignore it at first, busying herself with homework in the Gryffindor common room. The flickering firelight and the comforting presence of the castle were usually enough to keep her grounded, but today was different. The nausea seemed to worsen with every passing minute, and soon she found herself clutching her abdomen, trying to breathe through the sudden discomfort.
âY/N?â
Remus Lupinâs voice brought her back to the present. She glanced up, meeting his warm brown eyes across the room. He had been studying at the table nearby, but his gaze was now fixed on her, concern written all over his face.
âIâm fine,â Y/N muttered, shaking her head in an attempt to brush off the queasiness. âJust a bit of a stomachache.â
Remus raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. âYou donât look fine. Come here, love,â he coaxed gently, his tone soothing.
Y/N didnât resist. She knew he wouldnât let it go, and honestly, she was grateful. As much as she hated to admit it, she didnât feel fine at all. In fact, she felt like her whole body was on the edge of something she couldnât control.
She slowly stood up and walked over to where Remus was sitting. He shifted aside to make room for her, and as she sank into the armchair beside him, he instinctively reached for her hand.
âTell me whatâs going on,â he said softly, his thumb gently tracing the back of her hand.
âI donât know,â Y/N whispered. âI just feel⊠off. A bit dizzy. My stomachâs turning, but itâs notââ She stopped herself, aware of what she was about to say. The word hung heavy on her tongue, a word she tried so hard to avoid. She swallowed, willing herself to stay calm.
Remusâs eyes softened with understanding. âYou donât need to say it if you donât want to,â he said gently. âBut Iâm here for you. Whatever it is.â
Y/N nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over her just from hearing him say that. It was rare for her to open up about her struggles with emetophobia, especially with the one person she cared about most. Remus had always been understanding, but today, her fear felt overwhelming. Her stomach churned at the thought of getting sickâsomething she hadnât been able to control since childhoodâand her mind began to spiral.
âIâll get you something,â Remus continued, sensing her distress. âSomething to settle your stomach. Youâll feel better soon.â
Y/N gave a shaky smile, grateful for his calm presence. He always seemed to know how to make her feel better, how to soothe her even when the world felt out of control.
â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°ââ.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:â
The evening stretched on, and Y/N couldnât shake the sensation of nausea that clung to her. She had tried to drink some water, but it hadnât helped. She had curled up under a blanket beside Remus on the couch, but the nausea still gnawed at her insides, and the dizziness refused to leave.
"Do you want me to get Madame Pomfrey?" Remus asked after a long silence, his voice careful.
Y/N shook her head quickly, but the movement only made her feel worse. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to steady herself, but she couldnât escape the overwhelming sense of discomfort.
"Iâm fine, really," she replied, her voice strained. "I just need a minute."
Remus didnât push further. Instead, he carefully shifted so that he was sitting behind her, supporting her back with a cushion. His hands were warm and steady as he placed one on her shoulder, rubbing soothing circles on her skin.
âIâm right here,â he murmured, his voice like a gentle lullaby. âYou donât have to go through this alone.â
The kindness in his tone made Y/Nâs heart ache. She had always been so terrified of being judged, of appearing weak or fragile, especially around him. But Remus never made her feel that way. He never once looked at her with pity, and that was something she cherished more than anything.
She leaned back against him, resting her head on his chest. His heartbeat was steady, a rhythm she found grounding, and it helped her focus on something other than the sickening feeling in her stomach. She closed her eyes, listening to the quiet, to the sound of his breath, and allowed herself a small moment of peace.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Remus asked after a while, his voice soft, barely a whisper.
Y/N hesitated, biting her lip. She had been carrying this fear around for so long, and though she had told Remus bits and pieces before, she had never truly opened up about how severe her emetophobia could be.
"I don't know if I can," she admitted, her voice trembling.
Remus didnât say anything for a moment. Instead, he simply continued to hold her, his presence a steady anchor in the chaos of her mind.
When he finally spoke again, it was with a quiet understanding. âYou donât have to tell me everything, love. But if you want to talk, Iâm here.â
Y/N felt her breath catch in her throat. There was so much she wanted to say, so much she had never been able to express. She had always been afraid of burdening others with her fear, especially Remus, but the kindness in his voice and the gentleness of his touch made it feel just a little less daunting.
âIâm scared,â she whispered. âI hate this feeling. The nausea, the thought of being sick. I just⊠I canât handle it. I donât know how to make it stop.â
Her chest tightened, her breathing becoming shallow. Remusâs arms tightened around her as if he could somehow absorb the tension in her body. âItâs okay. Iâve got you. Whatever you need.â
âI donât want to feel like this anymore,â Y/N continued, her voice barely audible. âI just want it to stop. Iâm afraid of being out of control. Of not being able to stop it when it happens.â
Remusâs thumb brushed against her temple, as though brushing away her worries. âI know, Y/N. I know you donât want to feel like this. But youâre not alone. You donât have to go through this alone.â
He kissed the top of her head, his touch tender and reassuring. âWeâll get through this together. One step at a time.â
Y/N clung to his words, willing herself to believe them, even as her fear threatened to swallow her whole.
â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°ââ.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:ă»Â°â.ă.:â
The night stretched on, the fire crackling softly in the background, and the hours passed in quiet conversation. Remus didnât try to rush her through the nausea; instead, he focused on calming her mind, drawing her attention away from the spiral of thoughts that threatened to take over.
As time went on, Y/N began to feel a little less overwhelmed. The nausea was still there, lingering in the background, but it wasnât as suffocating. She had Remus with her, and that made all the difference.
âDo you want some tea?â Remus asked, his voice soft. âI think it might help settle your stomach.â
Y/N nodded, grateful for the suggestion. âYes, please,â she murmured.
Remus rose from the couch and moved toward the small kitchenette in the corner of the common room. He returned shortly with a steaming mug of chamomile tea, the aroma of the herbs filling the air.
âHere you go,â he said, handing her the cup. âItâs not much, but it should help.â
Y/N took the mug from him, the warmth of the tea comforting against her chilled fingers. She took a slow sip, letting the soothing liquid settle in her stomach. For the first time all evening, she felt a small glimmer of relief.
âThank you,â she whispered.
Remus smiled, his eyes soft. âAnytime, love. You donât ever have to go through this alone.â
She smiled back, leaning into his side once again. For the first time in hours, the knot in her stomach began to loosen. The fear wasnât completely gone, but it didnât feel as overpowering. And with Remus there beside her, it felt a little easier to breathe.
They sat in silence for a while, just being together. The world outside seemed distant, irrelevant in the face of their quiet comfort.
Y/Nâs head rested on Remusâs shoulder as they watched the flames dance in the fireplace. She didnât feel entirely better yet, but with him there, it felt like the storm inside her had calmedâjust a little.
And in that small moment, she realized that maybe that was enough for now. She had him. And that was all she needed to make it through the storm.

masterlist || requests
James lounged in the common room by the fireplace, a goofy smile on his face as he thought about the girl who had completely captured his heart. The other Marauders: Sirius, Peter, and Remus noticed his smitten expression and exchanged knowing glances.
Peter couldn't help but roll his eyes and chuckled. âLook at him, all lovesick and heart-eyed."
Sirius smirked, raising an eyebrow at James' dreamy expression. "Oh, someone's got it bad," he teased, his gray eyes sparkling with amusement. "I've never seen you like this, Prongs.â He added, the nickname carrying a hint of friendly mockery.
Remus chuckled lightly, leaning back against the chair he was sat on. "You've fallen, and fallen hard," he said, his voice filled with a mixture of amusement and affection.
James' cheeks flushed slightly as the Marauders called him out on his smitten state, but he couldn't deny the truth. He was completely smitten, and he couldn't stop the happy thoughts that filled his mind. But he tried to play it cool. "Oh, shut it, you lot.â He retorted with a sheepish smile, trying to regain a sliver of dignity.
Sirius chuckled, the smirk still playing on his lips. "Face it, Prongs, you're whipped.â He teased, enjoying having the upper hand in the playful banter.
Remus glanced back at James with a perceptive gaze, noting the speed at which James had fallen head over heels for this girl. "You know, Prongs, you fell for her like a ton of bricks," he pointed out, his tone laced with amusement. "I've never seen you this smitten this quickly before."
James leaned back against the couch, a silly smile still on his face. "Yeah, yeah, I know. That lil' shit tripped me, and now I can't seem to get her out of my head." He spoke in an overly affectionate tone, his words dripping with smitten adoration for the girl.
Sirius' smirk widened at James' confession, amused by his smitten state. "Oh, so she's a little heartbreaker, eh? Got you on your ass quicker than a bludger to the head."
James chuckled at Sirius' observation, a fond smile tugging at his lips. "You know what's even funnier? She actually tripped me. Our first meeting, and she literally sends me toppling on my ass."
Sirius burst out laughing, the image of James being tripped by this girl was too humorous to not find it hilarious. "Oh, that's brilliant! Tripped you, eh? How very...graceful of her.â Sirius teased with a smirk.
Remus chuckled lightly, enjoying the playful banter. "Seems like she left quite the impression, Prongs. First meeting and you already fell for her, quite literally.â He quipped, a smile playing on his lips.
James rolled his eyes playfully, trying to maintain a semblance of composure. "Oh, shut it, Moony. It wasn't my finest moment," he joked, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "But you know what they say, all's fair in love and war. She got me fair and square."

hi, could you write a drabble with reader x remus where she rlly struggles with getting involved or going to hang out with people without explicitly being invited (just feeling really worried about being rejected) and he kind of reassures her and looks after her?
hi, thanks for this request! hope you enjoy, i generally don't write school-aged drabbles but thought this fit the best.
summary: your fear of being rejected stops you from joining your friends, but remus reassures you
remus x fem! reader (implied early stages romance)
Sitting by one of the fireplaces in the Gryffindor common room, youâre wondering how many of the people around you have exchanged glances over the top of your head. You can almost feel judgement thickening the air, raised eyebrows and confused smiles that ask why is she even here? To be honest, the only reason that you havenât moved away is that you were technically sitting here first, and the rest of them milled in and took their spots nearby- then again, was it purposeful, your taking a place on one of the sofas they often use? In hindsight itâs just embarrassing. They must be assuming that you sat down just so theyâd have no choice but to talk to you.Â
You know youâre expecting the worst of this group, none of whom particularly deserve it. The flock of seventh-years surrounding you are generally a good bunch; Lily, Sirius, Marlene, Mary, Peter, James, Remus, and Dorcas,. You want to be one of them more than you want most other things, which is somewhat pathetic and completely obvious in the way youâre always hanging around. They may all be lovely, and your friends (to some extent), but you know how irritating it can be if thereâs always someone not quite in the group hanging around.
You should leave. Get up and make some comment about homework, or whatever, and wait for absolutely nobody to stop you. Itâs kinder to everybody. Isnât it?
Lost in your thoughts, you miss what Lily says next, and then theyâre all getting to their feet. You give what you hope is a casual smile, simultaneously relieved of your spiralling and disappointed that theyâre fulfilling your expectations.
Thereâs a tap on your shoulder- Remus, your favourite, whose hair has grown out over Christmas and now curls over his ears. He seems to get taller and lovelier with every passing moment. Itâs difficult to make eye contact.
âWeâre heading to the greenhouses, did you hear?â He says quietly, hand stilling instead of pulling away. You press your lips together and nod, carefully hiding any sort of misplaced hurt. Itâs not as if youâre entitled to an invitation.
âAlright, Iâll see you later!â Too enthusiastic.
His brows pinch together. âYouâre not coming?â
You look up at the others, who are collecting scarves and bags on their way to the portrait-hole. How can you admit to Remus that you donât think they want you along? How can you tell him, anyone, that youâre far too afraid of being made fun of, or becoming a joke within their tight-knit group, to risk it?
âOh, I donât know. I have heaps of homework.â
âYou do?â He raises his eyebrows. You feel caught, despite not having been accused of any sort of lie. âI thought you finished it all yesterday.â
Youâd been studying when he and Lily joined you, and all day youâve been wondering why they chose to. You probably put a but too much value on people choosing to sit next to you in class or during study; itâs unlikely that it was more than an absence of other free tables.
â...Some, yeah. And I wouldnât want to- you know, I wouldnâtâŠâ You trail off and give an awkward laugh. Remusâ gentle expression is making the inside of your mouth hurt.
âWhat?â Youâre not used to your excuses mattering so much. Mostly, you mutter something and disappear to your dorm in time to avoid any drama. Is he feeling guilty, awkward about having made plans as a group in front of someone else? You cringe at the notion of Remus realising how friendless you probably are, of his pity.Â
You know itâs your own fault for being like this. Youâve had friends in the past- cool, funny, popular, attractive- who frequently left you out on purpose. A drunken conversation in fifth year revealed that you were tolerable at best, a joke at worst. Always pushing in and so desperate for invitations that to extend them could only be ironic.Â
You think about that more often than you should. Youâre constantly hyperaware of how tolerable you are, sure that youâll say or do something which will make everyone else realise exactly why youâre not in any particular group. You canât let that happen yet with all these people, so full of love for one another that even proximity to them feels like the experience of it. Still, theyâre teenagers. Judgement is an automatic response, and Remus is clever in the way he jokes. Heâll retell this conversation to roaring laughter if you reveal too much- not that heâs ever unkind, but you sort of invite a bad impression, you think.
âItâs really fine,â You assure him. âIâm tired. Itâs cold, too.â
âRight,â He nods, glancing downwards. You think youâve won (as much as you can win, here) until he turns to James and Peter and says, âI think weâre going to stay here. Bit chilly.â
What?
James frowns, making a sound of protest. âMoony!â His eyes fall to you next, and you look away, guilty and embarrassed. Youâd never even considered that pity would drive Remus to actually stay here, and now theyâll all hate you. Nice job, very well handled.
Marlene is next. ââCas has just finished growing the Alihotsy plant, though. Weâre all going.â
âItâs been weeks since we all had the evening off- or at least, since Potter and Black didnât have a detention each,â Lily reasons more kindly. She receives twin protests from the boys on either side of her, but remains unbothered, adding, âItâd be nice to spend a bit more time as a group.â
Youâre awfully close to tears. All youâd wanted was to relieve them of yourself, to retreat to your room and wait until somebody explicitly invited you somewhere (if ever), and now youâve gone and ruined everybodyâs evening. You turn to Remus, more urgent than is likely normal. âPlease just go with them,â You say softly, aware that your voice is all wobbly. âIâm just going to go to bed, I donât want to interrupt all of you catching up. Please, itâs really okay.â
Thereâs a brief silence that spans the entire crowd. Theyâve all heard, are all likely attempting not to laugh. Remus is giving you an awful look.Â
â...Are you okay, lovely?â Mary asks. You canât look at her, canât look at any of them, but youâve always been alright at masking emotion in your voice when you really try. You force something like a smile.
âYes! Yes, completely fine, Iâm only tired. Post-holiday blues, maybe.â You laugh and it sounds terrible. âIâve really only got to go to bed. You all have fun!â Silence again.Â
âWe might join you all in a bit,â Remus says firmly. There are a few worried noises of assent, and they all head off. Now, you do see them looking at one another, frowning and looking upset. Poor Remus, you imagine them saying on their way to the greenhouses, stuck looking after her while we all escape.
Remus asks you to sit down again three times before you agree, still rather set on going to bed so you wonât cry in front of the entire common-room.
âWhatâs making you so upset?â He asks softly, once heâs finally detained you. You blink quickly and cast a glance around at the other students in the common-room, afraid to embarrass yourself more than you already have, but heâs quick to assuage the fear. âI cast a muffliato when James began talking about the Alihotsy prank- ages ago. Nobodyâs heard anything, I promise.â
You swallow harshly. âOh. Thanks. Iâm sorry Iâm being so- so-â
âIf I could,â Remus says, firm but kind, âThis will be a lot easier if we can get to the problem, here, rather than whatever you think youâve done wrong.â
âI- right. Okay. Um,â You stammer. âTheyâre not really mutually exclusive.â âWhy donât you want to come? Did somebody say something hurtful?â You look at him, slightly startled. âWhat? Itâs not that I donât want to.â
Remus seems perplexed, looking the way he does when heâs working out a particularly difficult exam question. âNo?â
âNo.â You twist your fingers together so tightly that they hurt. âNo, it sounds fun, it just⊠itâs not as if Iâm going to demand to be brought along, am I?â The joke falls flat. You think you already knew it would, but itâs still a bit embarrassing to laugh and be met with a concerned frown.
You take a few longer breaths. You can fix this. You have to fix this.Â
âLook, itâs kind of you to stay here, but like Lily said- you all have the night off. Itâs really not so bad not to spend it as a group. I want you to go, really.â The next smile is easier. Youâve done this before, convinced people not to feel bad for you.Â
âWhy would you need to demand to be brought along?â Remus asks. âWe made the plans while you were right here.â
âYou all made plans together,â You explain slowly. âYou know, having an evening to yourselves and that sort of thing. Thereâs no need for- you know, Iâm honestly just tired. Thatâs probably why Iâve reacted so oddly, itâs my own fault.â
Remus looks at you for a long while, so intent that your skin gets prickly and uncomfortable. Eventually, he speaks, quiet and considered. â...You havenât acted oddly if thatâs how youâve been feeling.â
âTired?â
âNo, excluded.â He says gently. âYou really didnât know you were invited?â You donât answer with more than silence, and he sighs.Â
âYou were. Youâre always invited, dove, of course you are.â
Trying not to get to hung up on impossibilities, you shake your head quickly. âItâd be a bit rude to assume that.â
âIt wouldnât.â Remus replies immediately. Then, âDove, what are we going to do with you?â Entirely too much to comprehend. Youâre glad he goes on. âWould you look at me for a moment, please?â
You want to ask him why, or refuse, or run up to your dormitory, but you do as he says. You wonder if he knows that he could ask you to do almost anything and youâd say yes, if heâll only keep looking at you with his coffee-coloured eyes.
âAll of us- we want you to come along, wherever we are. Youâre important to lots of people. Do you understand that?â âI- I just donât want to push myself in.â You say, mortified.
âYou arenât. Youâre being pulled, if anything, yeah?â His lips quirk. âWhen Lily said those things about spending time as a group, she meant you, too. If somebody said something that made you think otherwise, Iâll-â
âNobody said anything,â You tell him feebly. This is all rather a lot to take in. âI think⊠maybe itâs more that nobodyâs said I am invited, or a part of- I donât know, itâs all sort of stupid.â
âNo itâs not,â Remus disagrees. He pinches your chin quickly between thumb and forefinger, frowning again. Mary once commented that Remus would look sixty by the time you all left school, with all his worrying wrinkles. âNot stupid, but itâs not very kind to yourself, either. Why shouldnât we want you around?â
You open your mouth and close it at his raised eyebrow. âRhetorical question?âÂ
âRhetorical question.â He confirms amusedly. âThereâs no point arguing, because we do. I do. I wish you wouldnât think otherwise.â
âIâve only been friends with all of you for a little while, though. Youâve all been mates since first-year.â At that, Remus outright scoffs. âHave we, now?âÂ
You shrug.Â
âJames and Lily always liked each other, then? Dorcas didnât only just start hanging around us as well?â You look down, and he sighs. âHowever long everybodyâs known one another, the most important bit is that we all like each other, yeah? It wouldnât matter whether we became mates at eleven or two days ago- weâre friends. Or- you know.â
You definitely donât know, but youâre going red anyway. He was definitely talking about Lily and James- thatâs all he meant by âyou knowâ. Isnât it?
Remus scratches the back of his head, quiet for another second. Then, â...Why donât we go down to the greenhouses? Weâll stick together the whole time, youâll not be sat by yourself again.â
âI donât want to make you babysit.â
Remus tsks, expression becoming sterner for a moment. âDonât think that way about yourself. Iâm asking because I want you to come- itâs not worth going if you arenât there.â
The long moment it takes for you to decipher whether heâs only being nice or if thatâs the truth is enough for Remus to decide that you donât really have a choice in the matter. Tugging you to your feet, and seeming taller than ever with your proximity, he winds his own scarf around your neck and pushes some hair behind your hear. You let him, mostly because youâre too surprised to do anything about it.
âLetâs go, before they all decide to try some of the Alihotsy themselves. Gloves?â
You manage a nervous giggle, putting your mittens on when he hands them to you. âThanks.â
âThatâs alright. Come on,â He gives you a crooked sort of smile. Itâs sometimes difficult to tell if Remus is aware how good-looking he is.Â
The entire group are far too enthusiastic at yours and Remusâ arrival fifteen minutes later, given the fact that itâs hardly been half an hour since they left. Either way, youâre quickly pulled into a squabble between Lily and James about- as Remus predicted- the logic of trying some Alihotsy for themselves.Â
âThank Merlin you came, youâre the only one who wonât be completely daft about this!â Lily says, linking her arm in yours. You smile before catching Remusâ eye and looking down, feeling yourself flush. Smug bastard, you think fondly.
Itâs an entire two hours before everyone heads back up to the castle, having thoroughly violated curfew but without (to James and Siriusâ chagrin) having tested any of the plant which would induce hysterical laughter. You find yourself walking beside the tallest of the group in comfortable silence, a few steps behind the rest.
âThanks for making me come with you,â You say, perhaps a little more earnestly than you ought. âIt was really nice.â
ââCourse, dove.â You look up at Remus to find heâs already looking at you. He clears his throat, glancing over at Sirius and Marlene where theyâre pretending to push each other into the snow. Itâs likely to end in one of them following through and the other swearing eternal hatred. âWeâre all glad you came along. Could even make a habit of it.â
You exhale a laugh. âMaybe.â
He gives you a sideways look. âOh, âmaybeâ, is it?â â...Conceivably?â You grin, darting away when he grabs at you and sort of wishing youâd stayed still just to see what heâd do. Remus fixes you with a teasing glare.
âWatch it, sweetheart.â
You blink, choking on words for a minute. Sweetheart? Sweetheart!? Sweetheart, sweetheart, sweetheartsweetheartsweetheartsweetheart-
âYou alright?âÂ
âYeah!â You say, too quickly. Remus misreads your flusteredness as something else and softens, taking hold of your sleeve and tugging you towards him. You go easily.
âIf itâll help,â He says thoughtfully, âYou can ask me if youâre invited to things. Or Iâll just tell you. Then you wonât have to go to the trouble of assuming either way.â
You like him so, so much. âThatâs really nice of you, Remus.â
âEh,â He shrugs. âYou know me.â
Now, itâs harder not to smile than anything else. âI donât want you to go to any trouble. Itâs really my problem, I shouldnât-â
âEnough,â He interrupts gently. âJust say yes, dove, if itâll help. I wonât be unhappy either way.âThere are several places within you, the more unkind parts, that say accepting his offer would be like accepting pity. But there are also places that are warmed at the thought, that remember how people reacted when you arrived in the greenhouse, that can start imagining a reality wherein nobody hated your presence by the sofas tonight, and those bits win the argument for the first time in a very long time. You look up at Remus, his soft eyes and fluffy hair dusted with snow, and nod.
