💖 NUTRITION & WELLBEING EDITION - 10 WEEKS UNTIL 2025 - GLOW UP SERIES [WEEK 10] - 💖
So we’re 10 weeks till 2025, the new year is fast approaching, your energy levels are in the gutter and despite mentally wanting to change your life there’s just something keeping you stuck. You wake up and it’s the same story different day, tired, hungry, moody as hell.
While you might mentally want to change your life, your body needs to be on board and to do that it’s gona need the right foods, drinks and nutrients to have you functioning at your optimal level. Taking drastic action when it comes to changing your diet is how you’re going to see drastic results in your energy levels, productivity and overall wellbeing…
The foundations:
🛌 SLEEP: All those late night movies before bed, Netflix and chill, love-is-blind binging needs to stop immediately. You need a set bed time and you need to be consistent. Waking up and going to sleep at the exact same time every single day. I recommend 10pm - 6am or somewhere around there.
🥱 Sleep with your mouth closed. Use mouth strips from amazon if you dribble, snore, or struggle to sleep properly - breathing through your mouth is most likely the culprit. It’s not natural and disturbs natures rhythm which is breathing through your nose. Mouth strips have been a game changer for me, and highly recommended.
🚫 No screen before bed. This is obvious but those doom scrolling morning and nights are over. Switch it off, read a book, pray, meditate, do what you need to. This is about resting your body before bed so you can sleep well and function at your best the next day.
Sleep supplements: Magnesium oil spray or tablets before bed
🍴 FOODS & DRINKS: 2 litres water MINIMUM per day. Absolutely no alcohol for the next 10 weeks. Strict diet of vegetables, fruits, protein and healthy fats, high quality meats and fish. More herbs into your food. Seeds, whole grains such as Chia, Flaxseed, Pumpkin seed, Bulgar wheat. More pre-and-probiotics. Sprouted veggies. Snack on nuts. No sweets, no cakes, no carbs. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no gluten. No nothing that is not a whole food, or from the earth. You are your own doctor when it comes to food, so you will know what is best for you. Above is the closest diet to nature and has changed my life. Eating vegetables in season. Removing western foods, removing vegetable oil, only drinking structured water, herb teas, and freshly pressed veg juices. Changing your diet might mean you stop eating out, you cut the takeouts, you spend your evenings researching meal preps for Keto, or healthy diet. Your life will completely change when you start feeding your body ALIVE foods, instead of nutrient deficient, processed food that keeps you craving more. Yes you are going against the grain. You will be the minority, but what are the alternatives? Stay binging? Stay eating crap? Stay feeling crap?
Supplements:
Chronium, Berberine for support with blood sugar
D3 + K2, B12, Vitamin C 1000mg, Turmeric, Probiotics,
DIM, Milk Thistle, Selenium, Iodine Drops, Omega 3, Mega GLA for women’s health.
Other:
Get full blood panel done to see any deficiencies
Invest in a continuous glucose monitor from Amazon - see how your body is responding to foods you are eating in real time.
🏃🏽‍♀️EXERCISE: There is no way around this. You need to do some fucking exercise. Even if you start with 10k steps per day. Just do it. Once you’ve switched up your diet you absolutely WILL have more energy. Join a gym, set the intention, put reminders on your phone affirming you ARE someone whoo does exercise and works out. Leave your gym clothes out before bed. Set yourself up to win. Find a friend or someone to work out with. Look on YouTube for a workout if the gym is not possible. Just try your best. This is a mind over matter. ~You got this.
🧘🏽‍♀️ Finally…STRESS FREE LIVING…
You can eat all the healthy foods, do your 10k steps but if you are involved in a stressful life, those stress hormones are going to come and f**k shit up. You have to remove stress where possible. This is the NUMBER one health destroyer. Stress literally makes is ill. It depletes your energy, exhausts you, and keeps you in survival - not much different to the animals living in the wild. Your life can be so stress free once you realise you are actually in control of a lot more than you realise. Blocking HIM. Saying no to hanging out with HER. Hanging up the phone. Removing yourself from the drama. Quitting your job. Changing your course. Deleting social media. Switching off the news permanently. Distancing yourself. There is SO much you can do to remove stress. But it’s completely on you. You have to take control if you are serious about changing your life.
That’s all for this week! Next week more advice on your pre-2025 glow-up.

💜Smart eating - a cheat sheet💜
Wanting to diet, to loose fat and maintain your weight?
~I know many people wanting to change their diet but see them not knowing what alternatives they can switch to~
This often leads to starving, subconscious over-eating or consuming more calories than they are actually aware of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Getting out of the restrictive and overeating cycle can be difficult, but let me show you what alternatives you have, so you’ll heal your health and mind by eating healthy, nutritious and filling foods.
(I will be sharing my personal experiences and share my opinion on eating certain foods)
1. Gut Friendly And Healing Food
~Kefir, Yoghurt
~Kimchi, Kombucha
~Pickles (fermented food in general)
~Sauerkraut
I include at least one of these into my diet daily.
Drinking Kefir first thing in the morning or having it as my dinner (when wanting to loose weight) is truly magic. I can recommend this highly.
Have one of these as a side dish, include it into your meal or make it a snack.
All these foods help you heal your gut health, clear your skin, balance your hormones and improve your mental/physical health.
-eating probiotic food can help you drop the weight-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Alternatives To Include In Meals
(Im very picky when it comes to food so I don’t have the widest range)
Don’t cut out carbs, they are not bad. Just limit them and know their calories.
~Buckwheat
~Potato’s/ Sweet Potato’s
~whole bread (carrot, potato, sunflower seed, oats)
~Eggs
~chicken
~Oats, Chia Seeds, Flaxseeds
~Salmon
~Quinoa
~Cabbage, Peas, Lentils, Tofu, Beets, Turnips, Beans,
From all of these foods mentioned above, my favorites are: Buckwheat (a slavic beauty secret), potato’s and Oats/Chia Seeds. They dominate my diet and helped me loose fat and become toned. (As well as Kefir and Yoghurt)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. The Extras
I don’t add sugar at all and replace it as best as I can.
~honey
~agave syrup
~date syrup
Also, when I want to stop eating sweets, I eat healthier options such as:
~dried fruits (dates, raisins, apricots, plums)
~rice cakes
~regular fruits (blueberries, strawberries, you name them)
!This all takes time. Especially, when you’re freshly starting or trying to break out of unhealthy habits such as being lazy, starving yourself, restricting yourself or binging.
It takes time but you WILL see changes and become a better version of yourself than you have been yesterday.
Sometimes it takes months but just doing something to improve your overall health is a big step already.
Don’t quit and know you can reach your goals💗

how do you think jaemin would treat their partner?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHERE DO I BEGIN (also perfect timing because these photos dropped and its all i can think about ㅠㅠ)
☆ na jaemin would be THE BEST partner ever i know it, i can count on it! [AHHHH] he’s just so thoughtful and caring and really thinks before he does.
i feel like if he saw you asleep on the couch he would most definitely make sure a blanket is over you and have a water on the table waiting for when you wake up.
he would have so many pet names for you princess/prince being his favorite one to call you of course.
i think while out shopping he would pay for all of your purchases and would not allow you to hold any of the bags. i feel like too that after each time he swipes his card he would look at you and kiss you on the cheeks because its what you deserve.
when you two are in bed together he pulls you into him, close to his warm chest (your favorite place for your head to rest) he runs his fingers through your hair as the two of you talk about whatever is on the both of your minds drifting off to sleep.
would be very cautious of your health, and making sure you take your probiotics and vitamins— making sure you are staying warm during the winter and hydrated during the summer
always letting you rest your head on his shoulder
always taking your side when you’ve had a bad day
picking you up from the train station after you get out of work because hates the idea of you walking anywhere alone. and if he cant make it he will make sure you face-time/call him during the walk.
you sit in his lap all the time even in-front of all the other members. instead of kissing or hugging this is how you guys show off to them.
would take you on trips, and on them you guys would go to coffee shops, museums, historic places. but he will have his camera out pointed at you (l feel like he would want to be one of those aesthetic couple influencers on instagram)
mdi
i feel like while having sex with him (and not to popular belief), he would take in every moment and be gentle to make sure you feel good too.
i kinda feel like if you tell him you are going out with your friends and he sees you dressed sexy he would fuck you right then and there before you are aloud to leave, not out of jealousy but just because of how good you look.
would love morning sex because it means he gets to see you with the sun rays hitting all the right places.
i also feel like he is so open to trying new things in bed that are either proposed by jaemin or you. (i know this is contradicting what i just said but i know he’s a freak in the sheets sometimes to spice things up)
AFTERCARE !!!!! is HIS THING! i feel like he would be so caring ask you if what he did just moments ago was good and if there is anything he need to change. getting you water but making sure you go to the restroom and take a shower (sometimes he will join, sometimes for a second round and sometimes just to make sure you don’t fall over) then tucking you in as you fall fast asleep.
— over all i think he would be such a WONDERFUL partner like i feel it in my bones every time i look at this man he would treat you so well. he just makes it easy to think this with all the bubble messages (almost every day) that nctzens receive saying “you did a good job today, sleep well and stay warm” YEAH also him putting money aside for a 401k and pension plan is so fucking hot 🤕 its the little things he does that makes it so easy for me to invision all of this.
sorry for this long post hopefully this answers the question
please feel free to leave something in my ask

he finds out that you vape m.m. 1610 & 42
summary: your best friend caught you smoking out your dorm window while he’s on patrol.
pairings: earth 1610! miles morales & earth 42! miles morales x gn! reader
warnings: not proofread and unedited, there will be uses of yn (idk why i put that as a warning), nicotine addiction, weeds, cussing,
earth 1610 miles morales
he will get mad at you.
miles will be giving you an hour long sermon of the cons and no pros of nicotine.
he’s mad but mile’s is just worried for your health and he’s showing it the best way that he knows; through lecturing you, like how his mom does to him.
he thinks its annoying when he’s on the receiving end but he finds it fun when he’s the one lecturing you.
will ask to try it once out of curiosity and have a high chance of developing into an occasional smoker.
he still lectures you when he catches you doing it too much or taking higher concentrations.
he tries to find you substitutes or distracts you with something else if he thinks you’re starting to develop an addiction/dependency to nic as a stress reliever.
“Y/n?”
you turned to your right and almost screamed when you saw miles at the fire escape beside your open window, “what are you doing here, morales? how did you get in there?!”
“that doesn’t matter, what is that?” miles interrogated you while he fits himself through your window sill. “where’s your roommate?”
“she’s in her other friend’s room to hangout,” you answered, discreetly hiding your vape from his view. “anyways, how’d you get out there? are you spiderman now or something?” you laughed nervously, deterring the topic from you.
“Yn, you vape?!”
“shhhhh! do you want me to get caught?”
“dios mío, yn…” miles paced from one corner of your room to another, his hand on his forehead like how an angry mother would. “do you know how bad vaping is for you? you remember that time when cigarettes were first invented and then 50 years later people are dying because of smoking? yeah, that’s about to be you in… dentro de cincuenta años!” he rambles, forgetting some words in english.
“ ay ay ay, yn…” he sighed.
“do you wanna try?”
“no, i don’t, yn.”
“it’s melon flavored,” you persuade him further, extending it towards him with a smile that you know makes him reconsider your offers even if he’s against it.
“just one hit.”
earth 42 miles morales
now this miles, while he’s still worried for you, he won’t scold you as bad as how earth 1610 miles would.
he’ll keep tabs on the concentration you’re taking, making sure that you’re not depending on it or getting too addicted to it.
he knows that someone like you who rarely lets loose might have a pretty little secret, he just didn’t expect that it would be this.
i don’t see him as someone who owns one as it can hinder his prowler business if he’s huffing too hard from the side effects but he sometimes ask for a hit.
“didn’t expect you to be the type to vape.”
you whipped your head towards your window, there sat your best friend; miles g. morales in all his glory, sat at your widow sill.
bugged eyed, you lowered your hand that was still holding the device close to your lips, as if you haven’t been caught red handed inhaling hit after hit while reviewing for the exams.
“don’t bother hiding it, muñeca. i already saw it.” getting inside your room, snatching the vape from your hands and flopping down onto your roommate’s bed.
he took as hit, “it tastes like that one probiotic drink that you always buy.” nodding to himself, he continues, “it hits harder than i thought.”
“yea, i wanted to try a higher concentration, didn’t make that much difference.”
“how much?”
“cinco,” you answered. popping the last c from the word.
“¿qué?”

de-influencing you
from someone who gets overwhelmed any time she opens a social media application.
expensive cosmetics. keep it simple and stick to skincare, makeup and hair products you know and trust. i've tried it all from salon shampoos and high-end concealers to ridiculously priced face oils and praised nail polishes, only to realise my favourites are the affordable drugstore products i can easily repurchase. it's the ingredients that matter, not the prestige or popularity of a brand or the amount of products in your routine.
new clothes. of course you can and should replace your holey socks and the jeans you've grown out of, but i'm certain most of us have more clothes than we need. what if we tried to use up (and, when possible, mend) our existing pieces instead of getting new trousers and sneakers just because there's now a trendier option out there?
dietary supplements. unless you have a deficiency and have been told by a healthcare professional to take a supplement, you probably don't need one. with a healthy, varied diet, you can skip all those green powders, probiotics and multivitamins, that weirdly enough have become part of some internet aesthetics. if, however, you do need to supplement (as i need to with iron), make sure you know what is in the product you're buying and how it works best — iron, for example, should be taken on an empty stomach and with vitamin c.
internet aesthetics. your style, your whole lifestyle, doesn't need to fit an "aesthetic". it's tiresome to try and classify your tastes and attempt to stuff them into the narrow confines of these artificial ideals. do things you enjoy, decorate and dress according to what appeals to your eye and forget about the rest.
regular beauty treatments. if your skin is healthy, a normal at-home skincare routine should be enough to make sure your face is glowing. a (fake) tan, hair removal and manicured nails aren't and shouldn't be necessities either, but if your beauty routines are important to you, just do the things at home and save your resources for more valuable pursuits than the ever-expanding requirements of modern womanhood.
cosmetic injections or surgeries. i've always been of the opinion that we should all be allowed to do as we please with our bodies, without shame or judgement from others. however, the more i learn about the risks of cosmetics procedures and the rates of patients' dissatisfaction with their results, the more negatively i've started to view it all. with more and more people walking around with filler, botox and surgically enchanced or erased features, i worry about our ability to accept ourselves as we are. i worry about the class divide these procedures are creating (who can afford it at all? who can afford a good result?) and i worry about people spending massive amounts of money and time on what are essentially unnecessary health risks. so i say: don't do it.
anything designer. as we all know, price and quality don't always go hand in hand. while i'm all for choosing great quality lasting products, popular designer brands might not necessarily be the way to go. people haven't ditched designer goods just because the go-to style is now "old money"; they've just moved from gucci to céline. i personally don't think any designer brand is really worth it, but wherever you buy, at least pay attention to materials and construction, and stay away from counterfeit goods.
trying to look "expensive". while i have always had a more classic style and was raised never to show logos ("you're not a free advertisement, dear"), i find the "looking expensive" thing such a strange trend, one that returns whenever times are financially unstable. even though i wholeheartedly approve of buying timeless quality pieces (if that is a style you actually enjoy), i don't think anyone should do so in order to look wealthy. nobody will think you're the trust fund offspring of a centuries-old family if you aren't, and most of all, nobody really cares whether you are one or not. the thing is, you really cannot tell whether someone is wealthy based on their looks, so why spend time and money trying to look the part?
clothes that don't fit your lifestyle. it's difficult to resist cute athleisure, but as someone who only wears workout clothes to actually exercise three times a week, i know i only need two or three sets. buy pieces that fit your everyday life, not the life you wish you had. no amount of cocktail dresses will make your life a flurry of parties, if these events are already few and far between.
most stationery products. i love stationery as much as the next person: i love a good notebook, beautiful pens and all the related little knick-knacks, but frankly, i only use one mechanical pencil, a specific type of black gel pens, and three notebooks at a time. no matter how cute some highlighters, letter papers or pastel page markers may be, i have zero reason to buy them.
trending books. i know this might be a controversial one, but buying piles of books on the recommendation of social media influencers isn't a smart use of space and money. just last year i got myself half a dozen popular titles from a cute bookshop, but ended up regretting the purchases because i only liked one of them. borrow the trendy new books from your local public library, and if you really want to collect books, only buy ones that you really love.

Homunculus Research (the kinda scientific edition)
Time for me to do the thing that I do where I think way too much about barely explained fictional science and try my best to apply actual science to it. For fun.
So, here is my biological summary for the homunculi of Rain Code, which will be mostly non-canon speculation.
What is a homunculus? A homunculus is an artificially created, cloned individual using the genetic information of a human for the purpose of developing immortality and regeneration applicable to military use.
What is a homunculus made of and how? A homunculus is created from gram-negative bacteria and human cells through complete recombinant DNA cloning. This technique is achieved through taking the genes of the human donor and incorporating the information into a bacterial chromosomal DNA and plasmid(the secondary circular DNA molecule of bacteria used for gene replication and transfer). Additionally, the incorporation of the enzyme telomerase and protein p53 is applied.
What contributes to a homunculus's regenerative properties and immortality? Homunculi exhibit accelerated initial growth and healing thanks to the bacterial hybridization of their cells. Bacteria have one of the fastest replication rates, and can replicate at a rate of about every 10 minutes compared to the average human cell's replication rate of every 24 hours. Gram-negative bacteria also have a complex layering of membrane that allow them to be more resistant to antibiotics and a more sturdy structure. Bacteria have the ability to go through inactivation, where they go into a state of metabolic dormancy that protect them and allow them to be able to wait out periods of extreme conditions and nutrient scarcity. Telomerase, the 'immortality enzyme', is utilized for its function in restoring the length of telomeres. Telomeres are a protective chromosomal cap that normally erode with each cell division, and it's this shortening that causes DNA damage and aging in humans. Telomerase repairs this erosion and allows cells to divide indefinitely. However, because of telomerase's link to increased rates of cancer, additional copies of the gene responsible for the production of p53 protein is also incorporated. P53 is a tumor suppressor that allows damaged cells to repair themselves before dividing, which prevents the spread of cancerous cells.
Why is homunculus blood pink? Gram-negative bacteria is identifiable for its bright pink color by using the gram staining method. This is because the characteristic cell wall structure of gram-negative bacteria which makes them so resilient also causes the bacteria to display the color of the safranin. Homunculus researchers may apply a gram staining process to the circulatory system of homunculi for the purpose of identification and observation.
Tumblr media
Relevance of gram-negative bacteria in gene cloning and military research. The most commonly used strain of bacteria used in gene cloning research is the gram-negative bacteria such as e. coli for its ready availability, ease of growth and manipulation, and simplicity. Gram-negative bacteria such as e. coli has a history in military research, in cases such as a probiotic when an army surgeon isolated a strain found in a soldier who, unlike his comrades, did not develop an illness from an infectious outbreak.
What is the zombified state of imperfect homunculi? It is the result of cell inactivation that, while it is a protective measure for the cells, the slowed or halted metabolic state causes the low-functioning mental and physical faculties that present zombie-like symptoms, and is currently difficult to impossible to reverse in imperfect homunculi due to their varying degrees of cellular instability.
Why do imperfect homunculi require compounds found in human flesh for nutrients? Plasmid stability in DNA cloned cells is often influenced by the original donor's genotype. Imperfect homunculi cells may include defects in the cell division process where the stability of the human DNA contained in the cell plasmid results in incomplete DNA replication, whereas each division causes informational gaps in the gene and interrupt protein synthesis. These gaps can be filled and repaired by taking and incorporating the required information from a healthy human cell through the process of horizontal gene transfer. Human matter must be consumed and broken down in order for the homunculus cells to initiate this process. The lack of these nutrients can cause the homunculus cells to go into a state of inactivation.
Why are imperfect homunculi vulnerable to sunlight? UV has been known to exhibit antimicrobial effects. Many bacteria, especially gram-negative bacteria, are averse to sunlight. Exposure to the UV radiation in sunlight results in the damage or solar induced inactivation of unstable homunculus cells.
Written, hopefully, as simplified and concise as possible for readability. I feel like I'm forgetting more things I wanted to address, but maybe I'll just leave it here and just make more parts if I think of it :P

day 16-22 // 30doi
Tumblr media
🧘🏻‍♀️ times are busy, but i can be productive and achieve my daily study goals while staying calm and not forgoing any self-care 🙏🏻
they say don't trust your thoughts when you're sleepy. i'd like to add, don't trust your thoughts when you're behind on school or you don't get the grade you want or you miss out on an opportunity and start questioning whether you've got the aptitude to do whatever it is you wanted to do in the future. you will learn from this. you will become stronger. you will not let this prevent you from achieving your dreams. you are so much bigger than that - it does not define you. 😤
it's really difficult to take it one day at a time as i had originally aspired to do in this challenge. when my life feels like a mess, i feel like i need to plan the heck out of it, consider all my options for the near and far future and where they might lead me, so i pick the one that's best. amd i always want to come to a decision right. now. so i can stop feeling like a mess who doesn't know what she's doing with her life. smh. when driven by the anxiety of my vision of failure, the exercise often turns out to be a waste of my time.
there is a high to having grandiose dreams and drawing a detailed map to get there. but it just adds extra pressure and anxiety and overwhelm. i don't think i know how to make long-term plans that work.
🌲 week 8/52's study stats (50/10):
M: 🌲🌲🌲🌲 T: 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲 W: 🌲🌲🌲🌲 Th: 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲 F: 🌲🌲🌲
update: had a really hard time sticking with the breaks on some days. either i worked through them or i skipped them and moved onto the next 50 minutes of work. it was a really busy week, but i feel like i could've done a better job at balancing myself, especially since my health these days really demands that i don't sit all day. 😔
🌷 little daily self-care things that keep me afloat:
physio exercises
2-min runs (bc i don't have stamina and it tires me enough to reduce insomnia and stress)
sticking to my hair care routine (basic but effective 👌🏻)
doing my hair 👧🏻 (bc it makes me feel a little more put together ✨)
outfit tracker 👕
showers 🧖🏻‍♀️🚿
moisturizing immediately after shower 🧴
vitamins/meds/probiotic 💊
🪥 and floss
deal with winter allergies like my doctor said to 💨
journal/vent/meditate when i need to
3 things that made me happy/that i'm grateful for
trying to never get less than 7h of sleep 💤
never skipping meals 😋

And because...
🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼
WOO!
129 for 🔼:
---
“I mean, couldn’t Eddie and I take a look at it first?” Buck asks. “I can change tires. Had to do snow tires back in Pennsylvania.”
She thinks of them both changing her tires, all sweaty and greasy, and…
God, she needs to get a grip. A cool glass of water and a fucking grip.
“Did you just volunteer my soon-to-be ex husband to fix my car for me?” Shannon smirks.
“And me!” Buck protests. “I’m also handy!”
“I don’t doubt that,” Shannon laughs. “That’s not the part that surprised me.”
“Oh? Eddie? Pfft.” Buck waves a dismissive hand. “He’ll do what I say.”
It’s that easy, is it? Getting Eddie to do whatever you want? Someone teach her the fucking trick.
“It’s all just bad timing,” Shannon switches the subject. “Car wise, I mean.”
“Is it ever good timing?” Buck asks.
“Well, no. But I had things I needed to do, you know?” She sighs.
“Anything I can help with?” Buck asks.
“What? No,” Shannon laughs nervously. She is not asking him to drive her around to pick up prenatal vitamins and probiotics and all the really fun pregnancy stuff she’s running low on.
“Seriously!” Buck insists. “I have nothing to do after physio.”
“I’m sure you do,” Shannon replies.
“I really don’t,” Buck says. “My days are filled with exercises, reality television, and cooking more food than I have people to feed, just to pass the time.”
Something about that is very sad, she thinks. He isn’t the sort of person who shouldn’t have enough people around to fill his home. He isn’t meant to be lonely. She might not know him well, but she knows that.
“Okay,” she relents. “If you are okay driving me to the pharmacy, the dry cleaners, and a maternity clothing store, I would be very grateful.”
“No problem,” he smiles. She swears there’s a fucking twinkle in his eye.
Shannon is well and truly fucked.
🔼
Weirdly, Buck enjoys doing errands with Shannon. She’s fun and chatty and witty like usual. But more than that, it just sort of takes his mind off things.
His leg is fucking killing him, and he knows he’s been doing the exercises like twice if not three times as much as usual. He wishes he wasn’t in so much pain. He wishes he was further along in his progress. Even though, by all accounts, he’s ahead of where he’s expected to be. He’s just been feeling time so acutely lately. Almost three months since he left. What if three more pass and he’s not back? What if they have to find a permanent replacement?
His brain has been noisy for days. Louder and louder. He can’t really quiet it. And yet, for some reason, hanging out with Shannon does the trick. He feels helpful again, for one thing. Like he’s not just wasting his day away alone. For another, the conversation just keeps flowing so naturally between them that he doesn’t have time to think about anything else.
They talk about a lot of things. How annoying physio is. Favorite movies of the past decades. Their favorite music. The differences between growing up in Texas versus Pennsylvania. Unlike Eddie, Shannon didn’t just live in El Paso.
“I was born in Santa Fe, actually,” she says as they’re driving from the drugstore to the dry cleaner’s. “Then my dad left when I was little, and my mom just sort of followed the work she could get. El Paso, Kemah, Dallas, you name it.”
“Wow,” Buck exhales. “I moved around a lot in my early twenties. Like as far as Peru. But it must be way harder doing it as a kid.”
“Yeah, but I always had my mom,” Shannon says. “She had a good way of making everywhere feel like home. An optimism, you know?”
“She sounds like she was a good mom,” Buck replies.
Shannon nods. “She wasn’t perfect, but… Yeah. I mean, I always knew she loved me. And she did her best. She was a really good mom.”
Buck thinks there’s some sort of tragedy in that. His own perfectly healthy mother has no interest in him. Her perfectly good mother is dead.
“I’m sorry, Shannon,” he tells her.
She smiles a little sadly and shakes her head. “Thanks, it’s… It is what it is.”
Buck nods.
“I’m sad she won’t get to meet my daughter,” Shannon admits. “I’ll have to find a way to honor her in the name somehow.”
Buck smiles. He hasn’t heard anything about Little Diaz’s name yet.
“You’re going to name her after your mom? I love that!”
“Oh,” Shannon replies a little nervously. “I don’t know. I haven’t even talked to Eddie about it yet. Plus, her name was Janet. I don’t know if I want to name a 2019 baby Janet.”
Buck chuckles. “Fair. It’s a tiny bit dated. Middle name?”
“Maybe,” she says. “I’ll just have to get creative, I think.”
When they get to the maternity clothing store, she insists Buck stays in the car.
“I need to size up my bras,” she admits. “You do not need to be there for that.”
“Understood,” he says, nodding curtly.
But it’s too hot to sit in the car, so Buck walks to a coffee shop down the street to grab an iced beverage while he waits. As he does he thinks. He thinks about what Shannon said in the car about wanting to honor her mother, but not knowing how. He agrees Janet is an outdated name and he doesn’t think Eddie would ever go for it. But there’s got to be something she can do.
So, Buck gets ahead of himself. A usual problem of his.
He doesn’t know why he’s like this exactly. But he is. He likes being of service

Dealing With Digestive Issues After Being In Emotional Turmoil:
11/28/24
I’ve had digestive issues off and on since covid and let me tell you about my journey and give advice. During covid, I started with burning in my stomach/esophagus and tried to see a doctor but they wanted to do a video call visit not an in person visit and all they wanted to talk about was “covid”. I felt I wasn’t getting any help AT ALL and started diagnostics on my own…. (Which isn’t always wise but sometimes you have to)
I treated myself as if I had an ulcer cuz of the symptoms and I lost random weight all at once. I knew nothing about digestion health or emotional abuse. As treating myself with an “ulcer” sure, I got a little better but randomly at times the symptoms came back. YEARS I’ve struggled to know truly how to manage my body…. I’m still a work in progress!!!!
Just in the last 3/4 months, I’ve found women’s digestive gummies with probiotics AND I started eating more fiber. HUGE DIFFERENCE in my body. Theeeeen, last week I ran out of the gummies and thought I would be ok till I got more…. Wow, immediately I struggled again over the weekend 😮 So, no I have to live on probiotics for right now.
stress also hurts you physically. You can’t just eat all junk. You have to eat good proteins and fibers. Avocados and Peanut butter are super hard to digest although they are delicious lol I love both and sometimes I let myself indulge but sometimes I pay for it too. 🫤
In the show “Everybody loves Raymond”, Robert says his ex wife gave him “Spastic Colon” which is basically IBS… but it shows him chugging down Pepto bismol and I gotta be honest…. That stuff does NOTHING but make it harder to use the bathroom and it turns your tongue black often if you drink too much. (Back then maybe probiotics wasn’t popular) You only have heartburn when you keep eating food that won’t digest correctly… pay attention to your body!!!! Nausea also accompanies when you can’t digest your food. Don’t eat too much fiber that will also hurt you but eat a healthy amount. Some cereals like Raisin Bran has fiber and also having black beans with a meal helps too 😜
Your soul, mind and body are one. When you’ve been in emotional turmoil for so long, your body is reacting to your emotions and it worries!! Trust me!! Please take care of yourself and digestive issues are just ONE of the health issues you encounter when you’ve been in emotional turmoil for so long ❤️‍🩹 (I was with 3 different partners) Hope this helps! You’re not alone!!
Digestive Issues symptoms? Mostly feeling overly full, heartburn sometimes, can even have a hard time swallowing if your esophagus is raw, cramps, nausea, struggles to use the bathroom normally, sluggish and feeling no energy. Also, BEWARE; heartburn can disguise itself as hunger so you’ll keep eating. Being thirsty can also make you think you’re hungry. Drink LOTS OF WATER! Lower your caffeine and junk food intake. You’ll see a big difference in yourself. Keep active! Even walking around your house more or walk outside on your street. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 All the best to you!!
oh AND carbonated drinks… really hard on your esophagus. I gave up drinking soda pop altogether and I’ve seen a change there. 👍🏻 Years ago I was a heavy Mountain Dew drinker but that stuff is sweet poison!! It’s sooo bad for you 😝😝😝😝

hello! welcome to blog post #2! i was real stoned while writing that last post so ive been reading it a lot to make sure i said everything right. it made me think today about “eating healthy for cheap…” i mentioned lots of canned and frozen foods because i had fruits and vegetables in mind, but i want to clarify that senshi needs more than just fruits and veggies and WE DO TOO!! senshi complains about adventures meals commonly avoiding fruits and vegetables, and is persistent about the importance of a BALANCED meal. just like he said- you need fats, carbs, fruits, veggies (and more)!
i see people now are far too worried about how much protein or calories they’re getting, and health blogs barely ever mention vitamins anymore. nobody wants to talk about the yucky stuff, like fiber and digestion. digestion is easily one of the most important functions in your body (i believe) and you can do a lot for yourself by taking care of it!
since a lot of my health issues have been centered around my stomach and my vitamin levels, i focus on fiber. but if you live in america, you should too because you’re at risk of having the same deficiencies i have! 🫵 most americans don’t meet their fiber goal daily, and many people struggle with constipation as a part of their daily life. that will make you grouchy and more easily overstimulated + tons of other stuff!!! for some people and in my case, your body won’t always digest stuff right if there’s not enough fiber and you may not absorb the nutrients you’re eating. it’s actually recommended to try and consistently get vitamins from your diet and not pills, because you absorb it better when you eat it (just like the medicine senshi said worked better when cooked!) that’s also why it’s so important to hit all your food groups. carbs aren’t an issue, btw- you just need to make sure you’re eating healthy grains. i have a gluten allergy so i actually make most (hopefully all soon) of my carb foods from scratch (waffles, bread, pasta) which gives me more opportunity to pick what grains i get. not everyone has time to bake from scratch though, so oatmeal, wild rice, and popcorn are all some great cheap/easy grains to get in you!
(here’s the mayo clinic guide to grains. they have a guide about fiber too i can send to anyone interested. i’m a patient at mayo with their gender clinic team and i trust them as a resource, but don’t forget to talk to your nutritionist or doctor to figure out what you need and what would be best for you. don’t be afraid to ask them questions, it’s their job!)
you should be getting good fats too. avocados/avocado oil, olive oil, and oily fish like salmon are all some great examples of healthy fats. if you like to bake and you’re up for a challenge, i made butter-free cheese danishes for a friend this year using avocados as fat in the pastry dough!
probiotics can be found in things that are fermented, like yogurt or even olives and apple cider vinegar.
when it comes to meat, i know some people say red or white is healthier, but i cannot stress the importance of talking to your doctor about it!! people with certain medical conditions or allergies may not be able to eat certain meats, and there may be some meats that you should be eating MORE bc of your body or genetics. if you don’t eat meat or only eat red or white meat for any reason, let your doctor/pcp know so you can figure out if you need supplements.
when it comes to fruit and vegetables i get a wide variety since they’re easiest for me to put more of while i cook, so i honestly haven’t checked out what vegetables i SHOULD be targeting. however, when i buy fruit i aim for things high in fiber to help me hit my fiber goal (like oranges!) or i buy fruit that helps with anti-inflammatory stuff. i don’t remember what about the fruit/berries helps but i aim for blueberries and pomegranates. pomegranates really aren’t messy if you open them in a bowl or strainer under running water, and they can be as low as $1 some places for maybe 1/3 cup of seeds? not bad!
but anyways, that’s pretty much all i know so far. becoming informed about what your body needs can open up a lot of new dietary options for you that are still affordable. getting a balanced and nutritious meal should be more accessible but just like senshi we can help, encourage, and educate ourselves and our friends to build a better community. let’s figure out the right path to affordable and sustainable health, together!!
love, senshi’s #1 fan

Hiori and his relationship with food
TW// calorie counting, ED, restrictive eating
I feel like Hiori has a very complicated relationship with food bc of the strict diet his parents enforced on him from a young age to become the best striker. He probably never had any sweets growing up, either. If he has, it's probably something like keto protein pancakes. (In Hiori's profile, it said that he dislikes cotton candy bc it's mainly sugar)
Like, he would try his best to avoid anything that would require eating out with others cause it would potentially off-balance the macronutrients, and he might not know the calories of it. But if he can't escape/avoid eating out, he would either sit there w/o ordering, just to spend time with his friends, saying his not hungry or get a salad (or something healthyish that he can estimate calories) which earns him weird looks if they are at a fast food joint.
On his profile, it also says that he buys yakult, which is a probiotic mik drink from the convenience store. His parents are so strict that he's overly health conscious. His food anxiety is another thing he's escaping from at Blue Lock.
I feel like when he wants to eat something his parents say is bad, he won't eat it by himself. He will share it or take a bite or two and give it away to someone. Hiori would also have a hard time trying new places. This is especially prevalent when he is dating.

i literally can't stop purging what should i do
Oh man, I'm sorry to hear you're struggling so badly.
If you really find that nothing works even in terms of harm reduction or baby steps, what I'm going to suggest may be terrifying, but I'd suggest you seek professional help if you can. Inpatient, if you can get access to it. It really sucks to have to stay in a controlled setting, but they have staff at those facilities to make sure you do not purge. They also have people who are trained in helping you through the urges.
If you cannot access these resources, here's what I suggest you do:
Make a list of reasons you deserve to enjoy the benefits of good health. It's okay if you don't believe it quite yet, but you have to at least try, and tell yourself these things until it gets easier and easier to believe. (You may find that believing positive things about yourself is not linear in how easily it comes to you. This is okay.) Really research the long-term harm that purging can do to your body. Not to scare yourself, but for the purposes of having a talk with yourself. Treat yourself gently and positively. Tell yourself that you don't deserve these health problems. That you do not have to damage yourself. That you are here to take care of yourself.
The next time you are planning upcoming meal prep, make a process of it. Take time to be present with yourself during the lengthy steps of putting something nice together. Listen to music or a podcast while you do it. (TV can work too, but I think ideally it'd be something that keeps you a little more present with yourself so that you can process your experiences and learn to experience food as a positive thing. Then, take the time to sit and eat the meal. Eat enough, but don't overfill yourself. Eat nice and slow. Pay attention to how each bite tastes as you chew slowly. Think about the energy you invested in yourself by taking the time to prepare a nice meal like this for yourself. Think about how you are nourishing your body.
When your body is telling you it is full, take a breath. You may have had to resist the urge to rush the meal so you could go purge. When you finish, you will definitely be feeling the urge. Do not try to suppress that feeling. Don't give in to it, but don't force it to go away, either. Let yourself feel it. What is it telling you? What are you afraid of? When you hate being full of food, what are you hating for yourself? Why do you think you do not deserve to keep this nourishment? Take the time to do something that will help you process these feelings. Writing is good, or drawing, or any medium for creation. Just get your feelings out in a way that helps you make sense of them. What do you need to hear in order to love yourself as you are? What do you need to hear in order to feel better about being well and nourished?
Try not to panic about physical symptoms. If you've been purging every time you eat, your body may struggle to adjust on the occasion that you do not do it. This may be scary and may feel like a sign that you have to keep purging, but that's not true. Healing your body is a hard process. Sit with yourself and breathe, reassure and comfort yourself, and slowly sip peppermint tea (making yourself any favorite tea can be therapeutic actually, but mint and ginger are best for aiding digestion!) If you have been using laxatives to purge, I'd recommend you don't go off them cold turkey, as your body will have adjusted to their use and you may experience severe constipation when you stop. Taper down on using them, with supervision from a doctor if you have access to that medical support, and prepare yourself for a gastrointestinal adjustment period. Breathe through it, remind yourself that you are here for yourself through this struggle, and that you are doing this for yourself because you are worth the health and healing that comes after. (If your doctor has suggestions for a good probiotic, you might REALLY benefit from taking one regularly. If you've been using laxatives frequently, your GI biome might really benefit from the regulation of added positive gut bacteria.)
Do you binge before you purge? If so, this will be where you need to really focus. The binge is the trigger point. Rapid eating can lead to gut discomfort and overfilling, which makes you feel uncomfortable and worsens the urge to binge. If you can learn to fully enjoy your meals, not use food as a reward and/or punishment system, and not restrict or force yourself to go hungry (this can cause you to want to binge later), you are already re-wiring your mind in regards to the eating process and focusing on nourishing yourself. However, if you catch yourself bingeing, try resisting the urge to purge and just sitting with yourself. Maybe you feel ashamed, overfull, or defeated. Resist the urge to further the cycle by "fixing" it with purging. Instead, examine how you feel, and be gentle with yourself when you do. Look at your negative feelings objectively. (Instead of saying "I'm a failure" say "I feel like a failure. This feeling is caused by...)
Be gentle with yourself if you lapse. This shit's hard, and healing does not happen overnight.
Best of luck anon, I really hope this helps!

Holistic Oral Hygiene Advice for a Blissfully Fresh & Healthy Mouth 🌟
Tumblr media
(this image comes from Nadine Artemis's book Renegade Beauty - I highly recommend anyone read it! It's a bliss babe must read💖)
This is advice that I've personally been following for years. I finally stopped seeing what I believed were natural weaknesses in my teeth, gums, and even the skin around my mouth. It also drastically simplified tooth care for me.
1. Ditch commercial toothpastes and mouthwashes. Take care that the composition of your dental products aren't influencing your saliva to become acidic. In such environments, the teeth suffer because enamel, cavities, and sensitivity to extreme temperatures develop with ease. I would even get dry, irritated skin on my mouth corners from them. They are normally formulated this way to leave a "squeaky clean" sensation, but it does more harm than good.
2. More pressure is not necessarily better. The tooth enamel can wear down from too much abrasion over time. Electric tooth brushes with softer bristles and applying minimal pressure is preferable. I let my water flosser do more of the pressure related activity.
3. Protect the oral microbiome. When the microbial balance is disrupted, things like cavities, infections, boils, and gingivitis can occur. Botanical sanitizers are better to maintain a harmonious microbial balance. Oil pulling, salt water gargles with small amounts of high quality food-safe essential oils (don't use the highly potent ones, do your research. Peppermint, spearmint, frankincense, tea tree are all fine), herbal mouthwashes, baking soda, and clay are all great options. Oral probiotics are also good to recalibrate balance if you've deeply lost harmony, especially from antibiotic treatments.
4. Pay attention to the gums as well! The gums should also be brushed/massaged. It helps keep the muscles strong (They need to hold your teeth in place. Loose teeth and receding gums are not a good sign) and helps lymph and blood circulation. Rubbing in an (ozonated) gum gel/serum is great to revitalize the cells of these areas.
5. Make your own mouthwash. Most mouthwashes have a lot of sugar in them which makes absolutely no sense if you're trying to keep your teeth healthy. Craft it from high quality ingredients that will alkalize your saliva, keep breath fresh, and support the balance of life in the world that is your mouth.
6. Do not forget about your herbs. Herbal teas are the best mouthwashes between meals. Make sure you sip some after sweets, sugary drinks, and underripe fruit. Licorice, mint, dandelion root, pine, rosemary, and parsley are some that I recommend. (Eating some leafy greens are the next best thing if no tea or mouthwash is available). Certain herbs can also be helpful for numbing/easing pains (ginger, spilanthes, cloves, valerian), tightening gums (red raspberry leaf, nettles, black or green tea, blackberry root, uva ursi), and healing mouth wounds/boils/blisters (plantain, marshmallow root, yarrow, Siberian elm).
7. Understand that your teeth are part of your living body. They naturally engage in growth and repair processes like the rest of your bones. Cavities do reverse. I've observed it in myself. And teeth are able to regenerate too (everything in the body is). It takes time, though, and a focused holistic healing protocol. Make sure you are actively encouraging a reality where those cells flourish as well!
8. Bring awareness to your pains and aches. The teeth are connected with the body. The nerves that run from them link to other areas and organs of the body. Often, in times of pain, we try to numb out the pain or distract ourselves from it. But pains are messages for us to interpret. Sitting in meditation with your pain can not only widen your awareness beyond the pain, but bring insight about what the root issue is. It can reveal things as simple as holding your jaw too tensely (letting yourself be consumed by stress) to deeper issues like stagnant lymphatic flow.
9. Flossing is certainly important for keeping all dimensions of your teeth clean. But it doesn't need to be done with strings alone. (I'm sure most people don't even floss effectively). Water irrigation tools (aka water piks), brushing at different angles, chewing barks/twigs/roots (like licorice, neem, Gouania lupuloides, miswak, calamus), and eating fresh, fibrous foods are also extraordinary in their effects.
10. What you eat matters. As always. Consciously managing what you consume sends the body a message of love. You'll notice what is not supportive for your teeth or what requires more diligent cleaning naturally when you eat with awareness. But never eat something with guilt either, just eat whatever you do consciously. It always does your body good and brings a higher degree of nourishment.
