i think so often about the day i felt so loved, so cared for. my boyfriend was playing something on his phone, sitting on the bed, and i laid my head down on his lap as i'd listen to him talk. occasionally, he'd pet me, which was the thing i was yearning for the most in that moment. i was so happy. my tail wagged so much, even if he couldn't see it. if it were physically present, you could probably hear it thump on the mattress on each wag.

As is the case one morning in October 2013:
