To help calm myself down, I’ve made a potato soup. Here’s the recipe:
6-8 medium potatoes, cubed (I like Yukon gold, but use your fave)
1/2 cup matchstick carrots
Salt/pepper
Paprika
Celery salt
Parsley
Chives
Rubbed sage
4 boullion cubes of your choice, or 2 1/2 cups of stock
1 cup heavy cream
Throw this all in a big pot, minus the cream, bring to a medium high heat, then lower to medium for an hour.
When the potatoes are fork tender, mash them up with a potato masher. Add your cream
Use an immersion blender, or a food processor to get your desired consistency.
Top how you like, I use cheese and sour cream and if I have it, turkey bacon
Boom done, I hope this helps warm you up for the dark days ahead

I love you everyone in red states right now.
I love you everyone who has family that is/will celebrate a Trump victory.
I love you everyone surrounded by loved ones actively voting against your rights.
If you voted for Kamala, you did everything you could and you should be proud.
All of your frustration and anger is justified, understandable, and fair.
I’m sending you all love and peace.

for those who are devastated about the election results right now, here’s your gently reminder to take some time offline, read your favorite book, write that fic you’ve been wanting to write, play with your pets, watch that film on your to-watch list, rewatch your comfort tv show, drink some water, get yourself something delicious, have a nice and relaxing bath, look at the pretty skies and take a deep breath. you’ve survived this far and you will continue to survive. this is not the end ♡

Something that I think is very important to remember right now, is amidst all of the chaos and horror. You HAVE to take care of yourself.
Please, take breaks from social media. Take breaks from doomscrolling and the news. Go for a walk. Write. Paint. Draw. Work out. Watch your favorite show. Do whatever you need to do to keep yourself sane, because paralyzing yourself with fear doesn't help yourself or others.
Educate yourself, spread helpful information, spread positivity and support to your friends, followers, and family. And then when the weight of it all makes your heart and your neck hurt more than you can bare, step away for a moment.

Please don’t relapse because of the election.
Please don’t relapse because of the election.
I know feeling despair and or out of control is one of the biggest triggers out there and this is not an easy pill to swallow.
But continuing to thrive while Trump and his supporters rely on your downfall is the best way to tell them all to go fuck themselves.
It’s okay if you see this too late and you have already relapsed because of the election. Just please try your best to not let the failure in democracy lead to a failure in recovery. Relapse is normal, this election is not.
Please stay safe and stay with safe people. It’s okay to miss work or take off school tomorrow if that is an option. This is emotionally taxing and highly stressful. Take care of yourself. Thriving right now is the best revenge you can get on Trump and republicans.

The Art of Showing Up for Yourself Every Day
In a world where we’re constantly pulled in all directions, showing up for ourselves is a skill worth mastering. It’s the subtle yet powerful act of prioritizing your well-being, setting boundaries, and building daily rituals that honor who you are. Here’s how to make it happen, one intentional step at a time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Create a Morning Ritual That Sets the Tone
Begin with a simple, calming routine that focuses on grounding yourself. Think of five minutes of mindfulness, stretching, or even sipping your morning coffee without scrolling on your phone. This moment is about aligning your mind with your day—your time to check in with yourself.
2. Set Intentions, Not Expectations
Rather than piling on lofty goals, start each day by setting intentions—small, achievable steps that honor your energy and goals for the day. Intentions like “I will protect my energy,” or “I will be kind to myself” keep you connected to what truly matters.
3. Listen to Your Needs Without Judgment
Some days, showing up means tackling a to-do list; other days, it means giving yourself a break. Listen closely to what you need—whether it’s extra rest, time alone, or time to socialize—and honor it without judgment.
4. Invest in Small Acts of Self-Care
Showing up doesn’t require grand gestures. Simple acts like drinking enough water, making time for skincare, or organizing your space send the message that you value yourself. The key is consistency—building small moments that reinforce self-worth daily.
5. Embrace Gratitude and Reflection at Night
Each night, end your day with a few moments of gratitude and reflection. Acknowledge your efforts and appreciate the small victories, however minor they may seem. This habit builds resilience and makes it easier to show up for yourself again tomorrow.
Showing up for yourself daily is about building a life that feels both empowering and graceful. It’s an art form, crafted by listening to yourself, honoring your needs, and taking small steps toward the best version of you. So here’s to you, showing up with intention and elegance, every day.
