So we all know what proshippers are, no?

Well for those who don’t lemme explain!

I personally call pro shipping, “problematic shipping” in fandoms, in which they glorify abuse as in Incest, pedophilia, non-con/rape, and age gaps (lolicons too sometimes)

So why do people proship?

Well shit, if I had the answer I’d tell you, but sometimes from grooming, bad therapy in which the therapist encourages their nasty content, or bad influence (I don’t think mental illness has any influence on what content people DECIDE TO CONSUME)

So how can I deal with a proshipper?

Well, for starters, if the content is deliberately awful and extremely weird shit like child x adult smut then report that shit immediately. Most preferred for those on A03 or on Twitter/X, the report could be under danger to minors or in that area.

Then if some people don’t they’re pro shipping or a proshipper make a callout post. Then block them, harassment is not encouraged, but if the proshipper starts it, hit em where it hurts!

(i am consciously not using the word "crime", because in some countries, being gay is a crime, and thus it doesn't constitute enough moral ground to be an argument.)

as such, "fantasy" CSAM, is an oxymoron. you can tell the person that wrote the article just wanted to make it seem more shocking and morally wrong by not even calling it "fictional", but "fantasy", to attempt to blur the line even more.

and it's these attempts to blur a word's definition for shock-value at first, and virtue signaling later, that makes today's media landscape so void of literacy.
