My whole anti harassment stance goes like this:

I'll defend a proship person if they properly align with that term. Are they truly anti harassment? Then congrats, the bar is already so low.

I'll defend an Anti if they don't harass people. Are they being harassed themselves and are playing civil? Then I'll defend them, even if I dont agree with their ideology.

Don't harass anyone, regardless of their stance.

Be respectful and treat each other like humans, regardless of their stance.

Defend those who are civil and respectful.

Do not attack those who attack others.

Defense ≠ Attacking

Accountability must be taken when you commit a wrong. Proship but harass someone? Take accountability. Say something rude or uncalled for? Take accountability.

I found these 3 takes on kinks/fetishes and I don’t get. isnt it just like acting/roleplay? I think I only have issues with race swapping when it’s either done with racist intent (ie: the whole “look, I fixed them by making their skin lighter!” thing) or when people label it as a headcanon when it should be an AU. I don’t know, that last bit is probably me being nit-picky as shit, but I hate when people say “Here’s my headcanon!” and it’s very clearly an AU. Like if you made Tiana from Princess and the Frog lighter skinned, that would be an AU, not a headcanon, because the story relies on her being a dark skinned black woman. Changing that changes the story

I was “proship” as an early teen out of experimenting random shit then an anti as a mid teen to early adult out of “morality and perfection”. Then Ex anti/neutral in 2023 bc the discourse can get very crazy and I stay out of them. Not just bc I had to research the actual meanings of them, cuz both sides can misconstrue and use inaccurate terms.

I’ve seen some antis shit on ex antis/neutrals for daring to change or even slightly liking a problematic ship or two. So I blocked them after seeing their extremism. What? Ppl can’t or aren’t allowed to be neutral these days? Or just be a level-headed person who can’t stand childish spats? It’s fair game on the internet, freedom of speech!

I like both safe wholesome fluffy canon ships and not-so-horrendous but still compelling Fanon proships! (Ex. small age gaps of anime ships) I just wanna support kind ppl with good quality content!

I’ve honestly never cared about race swapping one way or the other. Like when people did those black edits of anime characters I just went “oh cool.” Because I thought the redesigns were very neat. Like those people who put a lot of effort into incorporating their culture and making it fit with the character is neat. I also don’t feel strongly when people make a character’s skin color lighter (as long as there is not racist Intent. I have seen people redesign poc characters with white skin tones in order to “fix” them. Thats just shitty and gross behavior.) like okay, they made this character lighter than they canonically are, moving on because I have other things to worry about.

Oh geez, I used to be an anti as a teen bc most former acquaintances and friends were like that…

But I keep my mouth shut on the anime proships I like on my main accounts in case the antis harass me. At least they weren’t loli/sho X adult, some were teen/young adult X adult including canonically toxic characters. By not reblogging them but liking them on other sites where I saved them through private galleries. Though despite doing asks and supports on my favorite “proship” artist, I haven’t gotten stalked or harassed thank god. Neither has her, otherwise I’d have blown up on her behalf.

Now as a grown up, I realize that dark fiction isn’t the end of the world. I just block the specific types of proship I hate. I may be an ex anti who stopped following ppl but at least I don’t go out and harass others.

Realistically, I’m more like someone who just has specific fictional preferences and draws the line at some things. Standards man. I’m not the one to side with all proshippers just bc I unfollowed some antis.

For ppl it all comes down to experience and what they’ve seen so far.

how come when defending things in fiction, like sexual, shota/loli, noncon, kink ect.... proshippers will die on a hill, defending it, but when a character is drawn or shown with different ethnicities, like when an Asian character is drawn with a darker skin color or vise versa they complain?

Like I know its not everyone but I've seen it happen especially on Twitter.... like doesn't the *its a drawing* rule still apply?

This isn't exactly a take on antis as a whole but I am currently being harassed by one that got my Toyhou.se permanently banned for fanfic that I wrote. I lost 10 years worth of art and characters I no longer have access to because of this, and it's very upsetting. They made a call out on my husband but specifically only targeted MY fics for some reason and cited them as things that he had done.

The fandoms for the fics that they cited are all adult ones. IT, South Park, Rick and Morty, and Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel. They're trying to spread that we're both irl paraphiles because of the things that I write. They also obsessively went through my AO3 of over 800 fics to find this information.

The funniest part is that they actively watch people who write and draw the things they are calling me out for in public spaces where you can see who they're following. The hypocrisy is astounding.

I'm sorry if this is just a ramble that's going nowhere, I don't have anywhere safe to vent about this other than with my husband and he already knows everything.
