Crossover AU where shortly after Stanley got kicked out of his house, he somehow fell through a leak into The Demon Realm and was found by The Bat Queen.

Eda said The Demon Realm leaks into Earth, and that's where most of Earth's stories of magic come from, so I don't think it hard to believe that a portal to The Boiling Isles can open up in places other than Gravesfield.

Long story short, The Bat Queen finds a passed out Stanley in her forest, puts together he was abandon, and decides to keep him. After all, she always takes in abandon palisman, she can take in a seventeen year old boy. So she takes him back to her nest, and Stanley wakes up and finds out he's been adopted.

By the time Luz enters The Boiling Isles, around forty years later, Stanley has made himself at home in The Bat Queen's forest. He gets along great with all her palisman and even adopted one of his own. A opossum palisman named Treasure, who was abandon by his previous owner when they joined the Emperor's Coven.

During his time on the Isles Stanley has learned a glyph magic, but he still prefers to fight with his fist.

Stanley doesn't leave The Bat Queen's forest a lot but when he does he often causes trouble for the Emperor's Coven. Especially if that trouble involves stopping palisman from being delivered to Belos. Stanley has more or less became The Bat Queen's second in command when it comes to keeping palisman safe.

Stanley Pines is wanted by the Emperor's Coven. He is not nearly as wanted as Eda The Owl Lady, but his bounty is still pretty high.

Speaking of Eda The Owl Lady, while they never dated in this AU, they are good friends. Eda is one of the few people who knows Stanley's real name and that he's human. Eda has offered him many chances to come with her during her visits to the human world, but Stanley can never bring himself to go.

That's all I got planned for this AU right now. I want to incorporate Stanford, and possibly, Dipper and Mabel in this AU too, but I'm not sure how to do that yet. I'm also not how much of this will end up changing the overall story The Owl House.

Hopefully I will figure all that out and continue this AU.

SCOM asks open!

My writing finger is itching and I’ve just speculated a 150 max chapter count for SCOM — we are approaching 100.

I’m really happy with how it’s come along and 50 chapters for each trimester makes sense. (It might be a little under 150 but it’s a rough estimate)

That said! If anyone has any questions thus far let me know!

who do you think the bat queen's owner was? i was kind of hoping for some conclusion to that plot thread in the finale and i was curious on your two cents on it.

Eh, I'm not losing sleep over it.

It was an interesting idea, but the Bat Queen never was a major part of the show. She had the palismen, but that's about it.

Honestly, it would have been cool if her owner tied into the storyline in SOME way, but I'm accepting of how things turned out.

POST FINALE HEADCANONS (ongoing list)

Camila and Luz both held Vee’s hands the first time she went through the portal door and returned to the Demon Realm

Vee is every one of the Hexsquad’s wingman. She’s give Hunter, Luz, Amity, and Willow dating advice.

Steve, Lilith, and Hunter joined forces to debelosify/decoven the Isles. They went around tearing down Belos statues and defacing Emperor’s Coven insignia.

Gus and Amity have gotten better at Spanish.

Lilith and Hunter are still rivals in a playful way. They occasionally recall their Head Witch and Golden Guard personas when trying to one up each other.

King found a way to reawaken Jean Luc.

Emira had her own episode with Eda and earned her Bad Girl Coven shirt.

Odalia and Alador got divorced. And Odalia got kicked out of the house.

Tinella Nosa now lives in the Clawthorne tower. She pays rent.

Anne and Luz have kept touch.

Luz and Amity made Good Witch Azura popular and it’s a best seller on the Boiling Isles now.

Per Vee’s request, Masha was the first other human to be told about and granted passage to the Demon Realm.

Vee cried when Luz introduced her to Stringbean.

Jacob went to jail.

Camila has created her own Dominican spin on Apple Blood.

Vee and King became friends the same way Lilith and Hooty did.

Luz found out about Amity’s Grom note.

Principal Bump loved his Hexside memorial.

Gus and Matt kept their promise to the Keeper and helped restored the Illusionist Graveyard.

Luz kept her promise to the Bat Queen.

Eda finally returned the favor (and the whistle) to the Bat Queen.

King and the Collector have repurposed King’s Island into their “treehouse.”

Vee took Masha to Grom. And Vee became Grom Queen.

Luz, Hunter, and Camila accompanied Vee in her search for the other Basilisks.

Vee had a “Katara find finds the man who killed her mother” moment with Warden Wrath.

Everyone finds out Evelyn was a Clawthorne (obviously) and Hunter gets accepted into the Clawthorne family.

Hunter goes to Hexside.

Alador and Edric have a cheesy “I’m proud of you, son” moment. Probably over something silly like pranking Odalia.

Comparing the Bat Queen and Hunter

Both were created to serve their respective masters, having an initial sense of purpose but then losing it when said masters discarded them.

(ueghhh let's not forget that both were created from palistrom wood as well)

There's a thematic contrast between BQ's words here:

and how Hunter wanted to recruit new witches for the Emperor's Coven:

BQ's new sense of fulfilment came from providing a home for lost palismen, while Hunter was one of the tips of the spears of the coven system: helping to recruit young witches and taking them away from their homes and families as Belos asserted his control as Emperor.

Their paths will cross sometime after poor Hunter once again becomes a witch without a palisman (after Flapjack's death). BQ is the inverse: a palisman without her witch.

She would, of course, be an integral part of Hunter being able to find his own new sense of fulfilment after the worst experience of his life on Halloween night.

She and Dell Clawthorne would've known about the boy's past even before they officially met, and something tells me that this scene where she points out Luz's actions towards Owlbert:

was supposed to allude to a future parallel:

where Hunter, overwhelmed by guilt and shame, wanting to and struggling to learn how to carve palismen, tries to explain his past actions.

Both characters have suffered abandonment trauma T_T

But comparing their reactions to being reminded of said trauma is interesting.

BQ is so overprotective that she wants to force a decision on Owlbert's behalf in Escape of the Palisman. She doesn't trust that Luz or Eda could do things differently than how her own master, so long ago, badly hurt her and abandoned her.

Hunter retreats inward to protect himself against the many triggers and reminders around him, and I can imagine that his friends' palismen (and any palismen) would rank especially high on his trigger list T_T

They initially reject any support or help from others, while others are trying to lovingly reach out to them.

But eventually, they take the risk to trust that their worst fears aren't confirmed:

That trust pays off, and you can see how both characters' expressions soften, and there's now a willingness to connect with others and have an open heart.

BQ reconnects with the sense of loss: she didn't have a happy ending with her master, but she wants to trust that Luz and Eda won't mistreat Owlbert the way she was mistreated.

And Hunter wants to trust in Willow's words: that he isn't unlovable or unworthy, that he in fact belongs.

So much time has passed that BQ cannot remember who her master was:

whereas Hunter remembers too much all at once. The wounds are fresh and he's been badly scarred, both physically and emotionally.

Along with Dell, the two of them would help to bring significant healing to the forest and the land after Belos's defeat.

And because BQ would eternally trust that Flapjack made the right choice for his new witch here:

she would likely give Hunter, much later on, the very important and encouraging words that he needs to hear: that he was worthy of being found.

TALE XIV

BONES AND ALL

Once there were two witches that fell in love and got married. 

They wanted a child, and had been faithful to the Titan’s will, but the Titan had other plans for them, and those plans did not include a child.

But the wife demanded more. One night she looked up into the sky and saw a bright star streak across the horizon. So, she defied the Titan and prayed to a false god from the stars to give her what she desired.

The next day, while gathering wood in the forest, the couple heard the cry of a babe. They followed the sound until they came upon a strange clearing they had never seen in all their time that they walked this land. 

In the middle of the clearing was a hill. And at the top was an infant child. Her legs were bound with vines, and she cried, and cried into the red sky above. 

“Look my darling.” The witch told her mate. “We have been blessed with the child we have always wanted! Now we can be a family.”

But the husband gazed upon the child and frowned. Though this appeared to be a true witchling, with fine pointed ears, and small fangs poking slightly out of her mouth, her eyes were the color of blood. 

In her hand rested a small stone that glowed a ghostly blue. 

“This child is not of the Isles and is not given of the Titan’s Blessing.” Insisted the husband, “She will only bring us misery.” –

But the wife begged and cried, and the husband relented and they took the child home, filling their empty cradle with the strange child’s body. 

But try as they might, they could not pry the strange stone from the babe’s arms. 

And worse? The witchling’s appetite was insatiable. They fed her spider milk, and she demanded the spiders themselves. They fed her griffin eggs and she would not stop crying until the couple fed her the egg shells and then the griffin that had laid the eggs, which she consumed in a single bite. 

The more they fed her, the more the child demanded. 

And then the unnatural babe let out a loud shriek. From all around the dark woods, glowing red eyes emerged.

The couple drew spell circle after spell circle. They called up magical barriers of earth and trees and sound and wind. But they could hear from outside the strange creatures with the blood red eyes, pounding on their doors, scratching with sharp nails. 

And the next morning, when their neighbors stopped to visit– disturbed by the shrieks that had carried from their cottage to the town nearby, they had found the home empty and the couple gone. 

As if they had been devoured, bones and all.

Also I love that Darius most definitely sees Hunter as his son.

And how Hunter became a palisman carver with the other Clawthorns is perfect.

The Bat Queen finally can be free with all the other palisman now that their threat is gone for good now.

And Flap’s grave made me cry even harder omg.

Also the backgrounds for this episode were so beautiful.
