I don’t know if you heard this question but how did Cassandra get owl? Was he a gift from her father or did she find him the woods alone and took him in?

There's no canonical answer for this, but I doubt he was a gift, because owls aren't generally bred as pets.

We know she has compassion for animals, releasing that rat out of the palace, so it wouldn't surprise me if she found Owl, potentially injured, and nursed him back to health, then started training him.

Owl isn't a pet. Most of the time, he's not even around. I doubt that he lives, for example, in the palace rookery. But when I look through my references of Cassandra's room, there's not even a perch for him in there! Therefore, I conclude that Owl is wild, but is trained to come to Cassandra and follow her orders. Plus, as one of the series' hyper-intelligent animals, he can make his own decisions on who to relay information to, and whether or not Cassandra is in the right.
