I was thinking about Hugo's steampunk prosthetics again, kind of an "Automail" type. Aside from my love for mechanical stuff, I would love for Hugo to start asking for help to fix them, something he never did before due to his massive trust issues. Y'all see the vision?

With his robotic arm Hugo could win every arm-wrestling contest. Except against Varian.
Love the idea of him not letting Varian win on purpose but genuinely losing. Hugo is convinced Varian is cheating by tampering with his robotic arm, but he's just losing against his own gay panic.

Surprise! You didn’t think I’d have just the one book coming out in 2025, did you? Back in spring 2023, Disney asked me to write a follow-up to TANGLED (a horrible decision, really) and since that movie’s one of my all time faves, how could I say no? It may have also given me the chance to put “Give that horse a sword” in a book. No regrets. ROOTBOUND is about the awkward period after leaving a bad situation, when you’re sorting out what you want to salvage, what you want to leave behind, and what you’ve outgrown—and finding the person you want to be somewhere in there too. Also weaponized seagulls; I have an image to maintain.
Hopefully we’ll have a longer description and cover to share soon! And in the meantime, for any fans of the animated series going hold on, Tangled HAS a follow-up… Know that I have a ton of respect and admiration for the show, and while this story explores a different plot, in no way does that impact the show’s place in canon. Think of it like a different flavor of your favorite dessert!

The tangled universe is so funny because WHAT DO YOU MEAN there is a dorky alchemist out there inventing ENTIRELY NEW ELEMENTS just to give them his crush's name like wdym HUGORIUM exists??
"Oh yeah an 18 year old angry teenager was having the worst time ever with his bi awakening and now hundreds of years later it gets taught in school as the 'Most useless element in the periodic table' "
HUUH??
