ESCAPING INTO A SHIP

So what exactly made me latch onto the Sydcarmy ship like a leech on a water buffalo?

It was unexpected (for me)! Yes, the very first meeting between Syd and Carm did make an impact. I thought "Oooh, what's this?!" However, Carmy was/is such a mess that I quickly dismissed it. And Sydney just seemed to want his professional approval and a partner in making something great after the soul-crushing failure of Sheridan. So, the first season I personally didn't feel a mutual sexual/romantic tension, more like an automatic respect and shared goals/passions. Sydney nor Carm were obviously trying to flirt. Most slow burns on TV are 100% obvious like a Jeanine and Gregory (Abbott Elementary), Nick and Jess (New Girl), Jake and Amy (Brooklyn 99), Jim and Pam (The Office)...Until Braciole Ep. 8 that is.

S. 1 Episode 8- I won't get into everything but Carmy was desolate. Yes, he became a psycho chef and two people quit in Ep.7. However, he mourned Sydney more than Marcus. She was in his flashback/nightmare (?), then the way he told Tina that she looked like Syd (the poor pup), him texting her before opening the note from Mikey, and finally the most gorgeous locked gaze scene since Pride and Prejudice (2005). The soft lighting, the music, the colors, the mind-reading...magical. I still didn't get it initially. Silly, blind me.

Mentorship where??? Season 2 Carm and Syd's "mentorship" dynamic is pretty much over. They are true partners and spending more time together. They're dressing alike even when not in uniform, finishing each other's sentences or talking in unison. Sydney is opening up more of herself and Carm is asking to know more. They use the ASL sign for sorry with each other and no one else until ep 10. Then there's that locker scene in ep. 1 or 2, when they almost hang out just cause. However, Carmy misses the moment and there's the return of the kicked pup face. Before being on the ship I was delighted with all of their scenes and was looking forward to the food tour. They just ROCK together on screen.

Classic Love Triangle- Who's Claire? She's "Claire Bear", the prototypical "cool girl", who is willing to chase an socially awkward, wrong-number-giving man, despite being a pretty ER resident with no shortage of options. Did a CW writer get hired? Anyways, why was her presence used almost exclusively to put strain on Carmy and Sydney's relationship instead of The Bear generally? We could have had scenes with Nat, Richie, and Marcus arguing with Carmy about him being distracted due to Claire. They saved 99% of that for Sydney. They CHOSE to insert her in between or just after scenes with him and Claire. Showing Sydney's tattoos and her getting dressed with the stained chef's coat juxtaposed with them was WILD.

I LOVE that both believe their interpersonal problems are solely about The Bear/business partnership. In most "slowburns" the characters are far more conscious and actively work to keep things platonic. Jeremy might be a smidge aware that Sydney means more to him after the panic attack, but I bet he's shoved it down. All he knows afterward is that being with Claire feels wrong hence ignoring her call and recommitting to SYDNEY. He could of said "You all/This/The Bear deserve my full focus etc..." He was also nagged into greeting Claire at Friends and Family, seemed anxious when Fak brought her up right before The Table scene, and also while explaining that "she's great" to Sydney. He was at peace when focused on Sydney in the moment below.

The actors: Jeremy and Ayo's real life friendship is warms my soul and their chemistry onscreen is amazing. DON'T WASTE IT!!!

Jeremy smolders on screen. I want to see Carmy continue to stare, yearn, fall, then eventually confess and for Sydney to reciprocate his feelings. Anyhoo, does anyone else melt when Carm means business?! They do this twice in season one and it's not good for me. Whew, I need to clean my whole house or run a few miles.

Finally, there's so many other parallels between these two. They are fearful avoidants, have a missing or dead parent, jacked up stomachs, use sarcasm, but are generally very earnest, they struggle with anxiety, are compassionate, are perfectionists, peace-makers, give people multiple chances, are workaholics...so much more. A lot of that is also ME, lol.

Sydcarmy is my Roman Empire. I love them as much as you can fictional characters and they deserve the most tender, angsty, triumphant, romantic best-friends to more love story.

This was a fun episode, I loved it!! Seeing my boys is always a plus and I appreciate the return of some side characters. With how the world is right now, I really needed this episode. So, thanks Team, for keeping my spirits up.

I just enjoyed watching my silly little guys doing silly little adventures. Traffic is a nightmare so I don't blame Mario in the slightest. Anyway, 3 and 4, how was your date? /silly

Can we just talk about the animation? It was so good!!! You really see the quality they put in, especially in that fighting scene. I didn't expect MARTY of all people to be the cause of all this. I honestly thought it was going to be a gag of something harmless just being in the middle of the road for no reason (like a turtle or smth) and the Crew being like "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!" but NOPE, Marty was here and apparently A SORCERER?! I really shouldn't be surprised, what am I talking about here. And ofc the OG duo immediately beating the shit out of him is so fucking funny to me. He didn't die (I know that), but he's definitely going to be more relevant in the future.

You had always kept an eye out for your little brother Ruby. In a place like Freeridge, where the streets could swallow you whole if you weren’t careful, someone had to look out for him. Your older brother Mario might���ve been the muscle, but you? You were the voice, the one who knew how to stand your ground, demand respect, and navigate the chaos without backing down.

Everyone in the neighborhood knew you as Mario’s little sister—younger, but fiercer—the one who kept things in check and never let anyone mess with her family. Los Santos were a family, and with you, well, the way you guarded your family and their honour led Spooky and the Santos to hold a sense of respect for you.

You had held their respect because of your relation to Mario before, but you carried your own weight, gaining a special place in their good fortune. They respected you for how you held it down in the community.

That’s why, when you heard Ruby was at the Santos party, you weren’t about to let him get caught up in some gang drama, especially if he was in over his head.

You pushed through the crowd of partying Santos, scanning the room for Ruby. The smell of weed and cheap alcohol hung in the air, music thumping against the walls of the rundown house. Your eyes finally landed on him, standing wide-eyed with his back pressed against a wall. And there he was—Sad Eyes, a tall, menacing figure, looming over your little brother. You didn’t know Sad Eyes personally, but his rep had reached you enough to know he wasn’t the type you let intimidate your family. But the guy next to him—Joker—you knew him well.

Joker spotted you before you could make a move, his eyes widening in recognition. “Ayo, y’all better back up,” he said, nudging Sad Eyes, who hadn’t noticed you yet. “You don’t wanna mess with her.”

Sad Eyes glanced at Joker, confused for a second before turning to face you. The second his eyes locked on you, something shifted. His hardened expression softened, just for a second, as if the world had slowed down. He wasn’t expecting this—a girl, fierce as hell, marching right into the lion’s den like she owned the place.

Without hesitation, you stepped in front of Ruby, glaring up at Sad Eyes. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” you snapped, your voice steady, commanding respect. “That’s my little brother you’re pressing.”

Sad Eyes blinked, caught off guard not just by your attitude but by you in general. He couldn’t take his eyes off you, the fire in your stance, the way you didn’t back down despite his size or reputation. Most people would’ve looked away, maybe even backed down, but you? You were different.

“You know who you’re talking to?” Sad Eyes said, trying to regain some composure, but there was a hint of amusement in his voice. He hadn’t been expecting a girl like you to come at him like that, but he kinda liked it.

“I don’t care who you are, pendejo,” you shot back, your eyes narrowing. “You’re not gonna lay a hand on him and think you’re all sweet.”

Joker laughed from behind Sad Eyes. “Man, I told you. You better listen to her. She’s a Martinez.” He gave you a nod of respect, acknowledging the weight of your name in the neighborhood. “She’s managed to get Spooky’s respect.”

Sad Eyes raised an eyebrow, now fully intrigued. “Mario’s sister, huh?” he said, his eyes still on you. There was something about the way you stood your ground, not giving an inch, that made him forget about Ruby altogether. You weren’t timid, nor afraid. You had fire, and damn, if that didn’t do something to him.

You straightened your posture, planting your feet firmly on the ground, arms crossed defiantly. Your glare didn’t waver as you stood between Sad Eyes and Ruby. “Mario ain’t here to play peacekeeper no more, so if you wanna put your hands on my little brother, we can throw down.”

Ruby, still visibly rattled, peeked out from behind you. His wide eyes, full of both awe and disbelief, darted between you and Sad Eyes. He’d seen you handle neighborhood issues before, but never like this—never standing toe-to-toe with a Santos, fearless like you had nothing to lose.

Sad Eyes’ smirk only grew wider. He leaned back, his dark eyes sweeping over you, taking in the confidence that rolled off you in waves. “Alright, alright,” he said, raising his hands in mock surrender. His tone was laced with amusement, like he was enjoying the challenge. “Didn’t know I was dealing with royalty.”

You rolled your eyes, unimpressed by his smooth words. “Just stay away from my brother, and we won’t have any problems.” There was an edge to your voice, one that said you meant business. You didn’t care about the gang politics or his reputation—what mattered was keeping Ruby safe.

Sad Eyes paused, his smirk faltering just slightly as he considered you, his gaze lingering longer than it should’ve. He didn’t expect to be checked like this, especially not by you. There was something about the way you held your ground, the fire in your eyes, that made him rethink his usual game.

His expression softened, but the smirk never fully disappeared. “Got it,” he finally said, his voice low and almost teasing. He nodded slightly, the look in his eyes making it clear that he was more interested in you than the beef with Ruby now. Sad Eyes chuckled, clearly impressed. “But hey,” his tone softened slightly, “what’s your name?”

You hesitated for a moment, not really wanting to give him the satisfaction, but finally you said, “Not your business.”

Sad Eyes’ grin deepened, clearly relishing the pushback. “Alright, ‘Not Your Business.’ I’ll catch you around.”

You turned on your heel, tugging Ruby along with you, his small frame still buzzing with adrenaline. “You better hope you don’t,” you shot back over your shoulder, your eyes meeting Sad Eyes’ one last time. That cocky smirk of his hadn’t budged—if anything, it was more pronounced now. His gaze clung to you, a strange mix of intrigue and amusement lingering in those sharp eyes.

As you walked out of the party, Ruby let out a shaky breath, the tension finally easing from his body. “Thanks,” he muttered, his voice small but grateful.

You ruffled his hair, a soft smile crossing your face as you both walked further away from the party—and then your smile dropped, a stern frown replacing it within a blink of an eye. And before Ruby knew it, his ear was being roughly pulled by your hand, small whines of protest escaping him as you led him home by his ear. “¿Eres tonto? What the fuck were you doing at a Santos party?!” Your lectures blasting through Ruby’s ears could be heard from a distance.

But even as you left, there was a weight in the air you couldn’t shake—the sense that this wouldn’t be the last time you crossed paths with Sad Eyes. There was something about the way he had looked at you, as if he had seen more than just another face in Freeridge. His usual bravado had cracked, revealing a flicker of curiosity, like he wanted to figure you out, maybe even get closer. Despite his rough edges, it felt like he wasn’t done with you yet. And deep down, you had a feeling you weren’t entirely done with him either.

As he watched you disappear into the night, Sad Eyes couldn’t help but shake his head, still smirking. This was different. You weren’t just another person to intimidate, another face in the crowd to forget. Something about you got under his skin, made him feel alive in a way he hadn’t in a long time. He knew he was hooked—whether you liked it or not, he wasn’t going to let this be the last time.

The Bear S3 Review - scyeschef

Spoilers ahead!

They lost the plot REAL mf bad. I'm not sure if it was because they were so focused on quickly finishing production, or if they focused too heavily on the cameos, or if they were so hell bent on showing sydcarmy shippers less intimate moments by reducing syd and carmy scenes so their chemistry wouldn't be displayed or what. But it could very well be all of the above, and in return, they missed the mark completely.

Shipping aside, where the fuck was my family?? There were barely any scenes between the og characters that felt like they were more than just "strangers who come to work". All of the characters fell flat. Marcus' storyline fell flat, when it had a lot of potential to work with. Outside of his funeral monologue, there was nothing more to his storyline. We did get to see him be inspired by Carmy once again, but even that fell flat.

I don't want to even get started on Sydney... or Carmy... or the Faks, which speaking of was incredibly too much, and they might as well just call it the Family Fak show. They relied too heavily on them to be the comic relief this season instead of the og characters banter between each other, and it got old real fast. Carmy felt like he made no progression after season 2, and that probably disappointed me the most after watching 10 episodes where nothing happens. Certain scenes that would've otherwise felt powerful to see, such as Syd's panic attack, did not feel earned despite me feeling slightly bad for her.

The poc characters felt so pushed back to allow the white guest stars/cameos more screen time, outside of Tina. Speaking of Tina's episode, I have to say it was my favorite of the whole season. Liza did so well, and so did Ayo with directing. Other than that, I had a hard time digesting the rest of the season.

There were so many unfinished storylines, and unfortunately, I feel too defeated to even list them out. Everything felt rushed and horribly paced, thanks to them just finishing up with filming two weeks ago. On the bright side, the episodes were shot really well despite certain montages that felt repetitive, along with the dialog.

In terms of sydcarmy...I dont think i have lost all of my faith yet. It's probably the power of delusion in me that's still holding on, lol, but there were some parallels and moments (despite being significantly small) that definitely still sealed the deal for me even if that's what they clearly tried to avoid this season. But because of that, they shot themselves in the foot. I wonder if, after all the negative reviews, they're going to realize Syd and Carmy's chemistry is the heartbeat of the show, and it was a huge mistake to strain it just because of shippers.

There's so much more negative I can say about this "nothing burger" of a season, unfortunately, but honestly, I feel too drained and disappointed to even continue.

I watched all of The Bear Season 3 and I have so many thoughts... SPOILERS BELOW

TL;WR: It was not all bad... There were high points and low points for sure, and I did enjoy the high points! but the stress and chaos this season brought was not worth the few and far between moments of goodness we saw.

First, the good:

Liza Colón-Zayas. Oh my god. A true standout, as always. If her episode doesn’t win her an Emmy, I will be fucking furious. Ayo also deserves an Emmy for directing that episode. Every second of the episode was beautiful and moving and added significantly to the overall plot and character development of the show (as every episode of a 10-episode season show should… but more on that later)

Abby Elliot, I love you. I am a Nat Berzatto stan through and through. Ice Chips was my favorite episode of the season. AE’s chemistry with Jamie Lee Curtis is unmatched. I was so genuinely touched by this episode. This episode was family therapy for me, I think. Thank you Abby Elliot, very cool.

Richie gets some great family time with his daughter and Tiff this season, and it’s genuinely so good to see him continue to grow and support his family even when it’s really hard for him. I see how hard he’s trying and I love him for it.

Ted Fak gave some really great energy that really worked this season. Him and Neil were consistently funny and entertaining to watch. I enjoyed their bit about haunting that came up several times throughout the season

JOHN FUCKING CENA being a Fak was an INSANE choice but I loved it. This show has gone off the rails and goddamn it I need more John Cena immediately

Joel McHale is back and as bitchy as ever! I love the havoc he wreaks on Carmy. His line from episode 10, “I don’t think about you” (paraphrasing, I’m not going back to watch it for the exact quote) made me gasp watching it. If Carmy wasn't such a prick, I would feel bad, but Season 3 Carmy deserves the shit Chef David deals him.

Olivia Coleman. That is all.

"You can go fuck" is my favorite Bear quote, especially when Nat says it

Always happy to see Will Poulter as Luca. His lil mullet is adorable and I love him. I hope he and Syd connect even more in Season 4

Pete asking Syd if different foods make different levels of noise was the funniest bit the whole season. Protect Pete at all costs.

Now for the bad…

Where’s the fucking character development??? Carmy and Syd in particular felt very stuck this season. The whole season is very stuck in the past and pays a lot of lip service to 'working through your shit'... but no one ever works through their shit this season (save for Richie, sort of) and it annoyed the hell out of me.

The whole first episode felt like a waste of time. Almost no narrative development, 20+ minutes of montage and fancy shots of cooking? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the food porn in The Bear. I live for that shit. But the narrative went NO WHERE in Episode 1 because of how much fancy cooking footage was there instead. Gurl, get on with it. I’m bored.

There are several secrets being kept this season. Syd being offered another (possibly better) position and never talking to Carmy about it, Cicero not telling Carmy that he's now broke and can't help pay for the restaurant anymore, and the details of the restaurant review being kept a secret from the audience (and the characters) for most of the season. And like, we just never really get any payoff from it?? We barely see the restaurant review at the end, Syd doesn't tell Carmy about the other job, and Cicero doesn't tell Carmy about being broke. We ended the season where we started. Re: a waste of time!

Another waste of time was the slight of hand/magic trick theme thing they tried to do but didn't fully develop. I was confused as to what the point of all that was, but it was never fully resolved. Don't give me that 'to be continued' shit because you didn't tie up your loose ends this season. I know bad writing when I see it.

Cicero was especially difficult to watch this season. More antagonistic than usual (which, fair, The Bear is a very expensive shitshow) but it makes a big deal about saying he wishes he would've shown up for the Berzatto kids more, but for what purpose? He says this twice, only for it to be revealed to the audience that he's basically lying to Carmy about having money. Bad writing makes this character more scummy than I think he needs to be.

The Claire subplot went absolutely nowhere this season. I think the only time we actually see Claire in present day (and not just in Carmy's blue-tinted 'Supercut' by Lorde memories of her...) is when Neil and Ted Fak are fucking with her at work about Carmy. She was a major trigger point for Carmy this season, but he never does anything to make amends to her, which I found strange considering there's a WHOLE EPISODE about Carmy "considering apologizing." Shut the fuck up. Apologize to her or don't, but she is not haunting you, Carmen. Goddamn.

Speaking of Carmy never apologizing, this season is SO full of callbacks to previous seasons and makes such specific references that the audience is expected to remember, but there are giant plot holes and references that are all but forgotten. The "I'm sorry" sign that Carmy taught Syd to do on the line when they're upset at each other is never brought up once this season, which feels lazy. Carmy did that sign when he was being an asshole last season, and it felt like that was missing. Also, some of the motifs this season just didn't make sense to me.

Finally, Carmen Berzattto is a grade-A asshole the whole season. Like, just a massive prick with no character development, no arc, no interest in healing or working through his shit or connecting with other human beings in really anyway, and honestly? He was antagonistic and demanding and harsh in a way we've never see him before, and I don't think it was for the better. I understand that it's because he's lost this humility and is turning into Chef David, which is the worst thing in the world to Carmy, but he shows 0 remorse for being an asshole this season. Him 'not being able to say sorry' isn't a good enough excuse for how truly grating his character was the entire season. I didn't enjoy watching him on screen. My favorite moments this season were the ones where Carmy was no where to be found. I loved Carmy in Seasons 1 and 2, but I wanted nothing to do with him this season. That's just bad writing.

Here Ryan talks about "the present" and how he took the role in the movie because the plot of " kids trying to keep their parents together" resonated with him. He talks about parenthood and his 2 children and how one of his kids thought he was a real firefighter because they saw an episode of 911. He talks about 911 and what happened to Eddie in the season finale and how Eddie has lost all foundation and footing and the new season will be about Eddie starting on a new landscape and what this new landscape will offer to him. He is making sure he is super fit to play Eddie, he believes Eddie will be working out more as a coping mechanism. He talked about the boy next door and working with JLO and how he didn't really call himself an actor until 3 years ago. Kenneth helped him to understand he had to put in the works to be an actor, to study and take acting seriously. When his last fight as a MMA fighter didn't end up being what he wanted he left Sacramento to pursue a modeling career in LA where he had to share a small apartment with five more guys. He then started acting because he was very competitive (he was like "if my roommates want to try acting so can I" 🫡).

He talks about his movie "the present", Ryan also talked about how Eddie lost his kid and had to say goodbye to his late wife for the billion time (😅) so in season 8 Eddie will be finding himself all over again in a new landscape and he thinks Eddie will want to escape somewhere, he finding a healthy or unhealthy coping mechanism is yet to be seen.

Ryan also talked about his art and how art to him is more like story telling. Ryan said he is doing mostly boxing training right now and at the end he talked about his children and trying to get his kids into sports.

Oliver was on a road trip, during his interview he talked about mental health and how when he's not doing well he tends to withdraw, how he struggled with making friends and how during his trip he met a lot of great people thanks to his dogs ❤️. Oliver talked about acting, how it was difficult for him when a previous girlfriend had more auditions than him back then and how he's really grateful for the opportunity to work on 911. Oliver also talked about the complications due the use of social media, where you don't always find positive things.

He talked about Buck's coming out arc, he's really honored of getting to play a bi character. He also talked about how curating his online experience is very important to him, mentioned having another twitter account that was mostly about sports, he has previously found people sharing negative opinions about him and that's why he refrains from looking about things about himself online. He also talks about how much he loves nature.

He talked about how he started acting, he hated modeling. He got into debt thanks to the modelig agencies. What he likes about acting is that acting connects with the human side of things. Ryan also talked about his art and his experience while working with JLO, he talked about "the present" also mentioned he is currently a single father and why he keeps his children out the public eye and how much he misses them when they are not with him. He's not looking for someone to date right now.

What I didn't like about it was the joke that Blitzo doesn't know how to use his tongue because he's a top. Ayo, what? I'm a fucking top and I suck guys off or eat ass all the time.

Also I feel like the whole episode was a way to justify making the joke that they were stuck with a crystal not working, and the *slurs* joke made me laugh the first time but when it was repeated I just found it annoying. Just my two cents.

Yeah, those bugged me too. It was almost a neat little bit of consistency because Verosika said that Blitzo was selfish and sucked in bed and wouldn't go down on her, but the thing with Chaz implies Blitzo bottoms sometimes and the stupid duet with Stolas implies he eats Stolas out.

(Alternatively: he dislikes doing both and will only do it when another giant asshole pushes him into it.)

If I were writing the penguin thing, I would have left it at two "slurs," the first one and then the one at the end, and in between, just had it be angry penguin noises.

Chefs Kiss (Sydcarmy) fans stay with me, Chefs!

I’m not taking anything Ayo, Jeremy and Christopher say against sydcarmy, aka Chefs Kiss, seriously.

They purposefully kept Carmen and Sydney as separate as possible this season, which is a big mistake in my opinion.

The show is about the characters and their relationships with each other. Food is a part of it, but it’s mostly the relationship each character has with one another that makes the show.

The writers trying to dispel the rumours by keeping what I would call our male and female leads apart is nuts because Jeremy and Ayo play so well off of each other but by separating them Jeremy gave his weakest acting (which is still very good) during Carmy/Claire scenes?

They keep saying The Bear doesn’t need romance then give Carmen a whole relationship that was so boring to watch for like 7 episodes and felt like watching paint dry because Claire isn’t engaging.

I’m expected to care about her, what she supposedly means to Carmen and hear about how great she is but don’t get to see it? She’s an ER resident for gods sake and she’s running around town giggling every 5 minutes without a semblance of the hard work and exhaustion that comes with being a doctor.

And for the reason stated above, I believe she’s a manic pixie dream girl. She’s there to change Carmen’s view on life, be different and quirky and the one who got away when in reality Carmy forgot who she was and had to be reminded which took him a whole 5 seconds to remember the supposed love of his life, purposefully gives her the wrong number and she says “You’re the Bear, of course I remember.”

No one was gonna take her seriously as the person to keep up with Carmy and help keep him sane.

Meanwhile Sydney does. She anchors him, she keeps up with him and she calls him out on his shit. Sydney isn’t perfect. She’s terrible at stating what she needs at that moment, she slightly short tempered and she is passive aggressive.

She also is working on her impatience and passive aggression. She eventually tells Carmy she needs his attention as her partner. She speaks up for herself to her dad and she’s not letting her ambition be treated like a bad thing anymore.

Carmen and Sydney would make sense because they are flawed. Carmy stops going to group therapy as soon as he starts dating Claire because she’s ‘fixed’ him and they don’t work because of that.

Sydney has ‘levelled up’ in her professional life, she’s more assertive and willing to listen and has just grown as a person and that type of continuous strive for self growth is what Carmen needs to see in order to do the same HIMSELF.

Sydney isn’t there to fix Carmy, she’s someone who he can grow alongside.

Claire was used as a kids bandaid to a gaping wound; the wound being Michael. Claire represents a life where Mikey was alive and Carm’s fucked up family was as whole and happy as it’s gonna be. She represents the past and everyone PUSHED him to want to date her in the past.

There is too much between our two chefs for simply business partners:

S1 shows Carmen scrubbing the floor of the restaurant when in turmoil while Sydney does the same in S2;

She’s spliced into the montage of Carmy and Claire as though she’s a silent part of their relationship;

She has the three dagger heart tattoo which typically represents romantic heartbreak and turbulence;

Carmen remembers her interest in his whites from three months prior even though she didn’t say anything and gets her her own custom whites;

The imagery from their conversation under the table? Him asking her to screw the other side and “say more, please” as he holds up the table (and Sydney) while she finally shares her fears;

“You’re not alone.” “Neither are you.”;

The memories of Sydney being what calms him from his panic attack;

During said panic attack, the song that was Claire and Carmen’s plays in reverse and any flashes of her are accompanied by memories of his dysfunctional family while the moment he thinks of Sydney? The song starts playing correctly. He calms and flashes of his family (and Claire) disappear;

Them constantly cooling an argument with the ‘I’m sorry’ gesture;

Him constantly being in tune with her emotions and body language.

Sydney represents a new beginning. The chance to build a healthy family with the staff of The Bear, Sydney, Natalie and Richie. She represents a future. She represents good change.

I’m fully convinced Ayo and Jeremy are just doing what all actors do with a ship that’s not yet canon: downplaying or dismissing it.

C’mon if you’ve been in The High School Musical The Musical The Series fandom and shipped Rina from the beginning, you know how it feels to be persecuted and gaslit by other fans and the actors for seasons.

TL:DR, Chefs Kiss is literally a super slow burn and no one of the team will confirm it until it actually happens.

Also, never let your girlfriend (Claire) stop you (Carmen) from opening a restaurant with the love of your life (Sydney)

And if you think they should “stay platonic”, ask yourself WHY every swirl ship with a white male lead and black female is hated by fandoms and the argument is “they’re best friends” or “they’re like siblings”. WHY can’t black women be desired? Because you can’t self insert? Check yourself before claiming a character who was so underwhelming I skipped so many scenes is a better match than the character who has seen him at his worst and told him he cannot and will not talk to her like that. The Bear S3 Thoughts/Feelings at 4am

Warning: So much hateration below. I'm disappointed overall. It's gorgeously shot and the acting is still top tier from the main cast, but OOF.

I want to say this first. Napkins, Tina's episode, was lovely. Okay, moving forward...

The first couple episodes started off so strong and then….what was this?!?I LOVED THE FIRST EPISODE SO MUCH. Episode 2 was pretty good, but soon the energy was off, it was painfully slow in some places, THE FAKS ARE NOT FUNNY, Claire "haunted" the whole season and it wasn't even her fault. Most of the "comedy" came from those Fak morons, instead of our LEADS, like Richie for example. It got so bad, I faced an existential crisis during "Ice Chips." I literally started thinking, "It's just a show. It doesn't matter." Seriously, I have real life problems and this show is not only, not an escape right now, but who cares?!?!

Anyways, Donna and Nat acted their butts off, but Ep 8 was too long when we needed more development from the others. And where was Carmy during the delivery?!!? And finally Sydcarmy, FINE, if they want to go the platonic route, after placing her at the literal center of his relationship all S2, but it felt like their soul connection was severed now. They teased us so bad at the end of Ep 1, gave us a trickle in the ep 2-3, and then...nothing, unless you count Syd's panic attack. My heart dropped when she wasn't the first to notice how messed up Carmy was at the Ever dinner. Plus, he's hasn't picked up on her inner turmoil for weeks!!!!! Aren't these two supposed to be close friends with a shared passion according to Chris, Joana, Ayo, Jeremy, and the Anti-BW/WM Brigade on Reddit? I doubt I'll be staying up until 4am to binge S4 next year.

Did Chris and Joana let the acclaim get to their heads and they fell off? Matty (Neil Fak) is a producer, but is he blackmailing them to be in 9/10 episodes?? John Cena's cameo felt like it was 4 hours.

Saddest part I have to go back to. I guess the cast really wasn't lying about Sydcarmy for S3. Basically, Syd and Carmy barely know each other anymore. I HATE IT HERE. Looking forward to other more positive takes on the season and Sydcarmy.

I made the mistake of rewatching Sherlock because I never did finish it back in the day (I was -clenches fist- seething over the queerbaiting and rage quit after not fully watching episode 1 of s4) and I'm here to make my side hyperfixation (what year is this??? Who am I???) Tumblr's problem. The more I sit with s4, the less I like it 😂 There were pieces and elements I liked, but overall, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Forgive me if any or all if these points have been talked to death, I missed all the discourse and I'm hella late, but I need to flail and send my thoughts into the void because what even WAS that season? I can't believe I avoided it for years, got drawn in by a couple of tiktoks making fun (affectionately) of superwholock Era and That Scene about the fucking phone charger port, binged all of it, only to be left with..... that. Not nearly as disappointing or rage inducing as spn's ending but by God, did it leave a hole in me. So please ignore my rambling thoughts as I slap them down here for my own sanity.

• First and foremost, what - and I can't stress this enough - the fuck was UP with the assassination of John's entire character???? What was that??? Why????

• Related to that point - I can appreciate the angst point and potential it provides, as I'm reading many, many fics, but AYO WHY didn't anyone rip John an entire new one for that beat down he did on Sherlock????? Hello???? 911?????

• Tell me why everything felt so stilted and borderline icy. Like I get the high emotions and shit, but after a certain point... 😭 was there a falling out between Benedict and Martin that I'm not aware of? Did they just try to ungay everything so hard and were so pissed at the audience picking up everything THAT THEY PUT???? into this show and their interactions that they just hit the brakes hard enough to make everything feel weird???

• A lot of it felt weird. Off kilter a little. Forced in some places, toned down in others (and toned down where it shouldn't have been), a nod to ships but weirdly/hatefully??? Idk if that makes sense. Like the whole Sherlock and Molly phone call (I do not mean any hate to this ship, I really hope it doesn't come off this way. Not my cup of tea but you are valid). Why was Molly so upset BEFORE the call? Did I miss something? Also I don't personally think or feel she'd still have those feelings for him??? I??? I am bamboozled.

• to that whole point, Eurus was.... Hmm. Mmmm. She was. Something. (Confused derogatory)

• I like Mary as a character. I also hated her. (Definitely biased by my shipper trash ass self for johnlock, I'm sorry). Wtf were those messages, please. Edit: AND ANOTHER THING. John's reaction to Sherlock's death - awful, gut wrenching, beautiful, my heart breaks with and for him, utterly devasting. John's reaction to Mary's death - had me sitting there like🧍‍♀️(it was weird. so weird. awkward. w h y. (we know why, but also the acting choices were Something TM, in both cases! for different reasons!) i'm sorry i just can't get past my anger and put off-ness with mary, fun as she could be)

• why did mycroft and John switch roles 😭 pls. The last episode was just. So Much. The lackluster responses from John, to John, to Sherlock, between them, like.... hello???? Who are these people?? Help me. Moriarty saved me for a brief shining moment tho, God bless.

There's more I could spew, but that's what's sitting right at the top of my head. I guess all this just to say, if a show runner/writer really just fucking hates the audience they got (instead of the one they wanted), they probably shouldn't have fucking become a show runner/writer in the first place. Either hand it to someone who can actually handle it and listens, or fuck off. I will never understand when shows and plots and characters gets kamikaze'd because of a show runner being pissy and egotistical. Like ????? Grow up. Learn from Bryan Fuller and Hannibal or something.

SMG4 Episode Review: The Mario PC virus💻️

I know I'm late to the hype train and I'm sorry about that! but at least I was able to get this out this week! So, let's get started!

Anyways, here's how it'll go:

I'll explain what I liked and noticed about some scenes in the new episode. And at the bottom there will be a screenshot of a scene I liked or found interesting in the new episode but in gl2.

I liked smg4 going insane over his project being perfect. I mean sure, I would've liked him changing his ways and actually improve as a character, but It shows how realistic the show and the characters are! Even in some scenes it can be random.

-Side note: I wonder if the show will focus on the mistakes that smg4 and the crew made? It'll be an interesting arc for the characters tbh..

Anyway I'm getting distracted!!

This pirate outfit looks really cool, and I hope to see the crew wearing different outfits in other episodes!

This was my reaction to everything that's happening in smg4's computer.. rip that poor file📁

Also like, am I the only one that thought the virus designs looked really cool? I mean look at 'em! I might be going crazy but I just thought their designs looked neat!✨

Now here's what interested me..

In my AU that I'm working on smg4 is kind of worse? in a way. And this shows that side of him a little, not giving people (Or in this case a Buddy) a chance.

I was surprised to see Bonzi Buddy as well! felt bad for him during this episode.

Like goddamn! Chris was already awesome and I loved the fight scene sm!! I know this was unintentional but, their fighting styles really spoke out to me. Chris fights in a more stealthy way and is focused and taking it seriously the entire time. Doing his mission which I respect!

But Swag? he's having fun doing this, there's no way he was taking any of this seriously!!😂 He was jumping all over the place, they're such polar opposites that I love them for it!

I really thought the whole Creeper rap song was play the entire time ngl..

Seriously though.. he's got some moves, DAMN! Sonic you got a great husband! GFY! (Good For You!)

These scenes made me emotional- this was like an hour and a half movie.

-Basically Entroric and Puzzles' relationship in a nutshell.

Also, I ship them now your honor.💍 they are married gays.

I wasn't expecting a scene like this so this really surprised me in so many ways I cannot describe.

I wonder if this is tied to WOTFI 2025.. I might be think too deeply on that part but, still, you can't deny it's an interesting thought.

Holy crap what's gonna happen now.. will Buddy be a new enemy for smg4? Is something bad gonna happen? how will this episode end!?-

Oh wait nvm.. he just threw everything away! and Buddy's never gonna return so, throw all of my theories and thoughts out of the window!!

-Conclusion-

I liked this episode as well. And It felt like an actual movie when I first watched it.

I'm pretty sure smg4 will continue showing signs that he's still connected to IGBP somehow so, I'll wait until the next episode.

Though I will say, Swag and Chris were the highlights of this episode! good work to Luke and the team!! this was an another banger of an episode!

so we start with the below screenshots from the trailer where we have a statue of gabriel close up holding the crucifix, and then the next shot with beelzebub where there is no cross and instead what looks to be a bundle in its arms (i don't think it's a shadow bc it looks too opaque, too human shaped (think voldemort in goblet of fire lmao) AND the lighting from above on the stone would be more illuminated???)

the clue to where this is in the storyline however is that gabriel looks to be dressed in his lighter coloured heaven clothes, so before he loses his memory/flashback?

so this is presumably where gabriel has arrived on earth to retrieve jesus, possibly tucks him into a pristine moving-day cardboard box (i feel like the 'this way up' is both literal in that one shouldnt hold christ upside down as well as being a direction to deliver it to heaven?)

and given that gabriel heralded the birth of jesus in the first place, its perhaps all hinged on gabriel himself that the second coming happens, ergo if they eradicate gabriel, then there's no second coming, and therefore there's no tilting of the scales to favour heaven in the eventual war that will follow

anyway i reckon there must be a tussle with beelzebub or demons in general in the graveyard because then it seems like beelzebub gets discorporated possibly in the graveyard (hence the marker in the opening sequence) and gets temporarily demoted back in hell for losing gabriel/jesus (leaving a power vacuum for shax???)

but gabriel either gets possessed by jesus (see: funny as fuck) or something just generally happens to him in this fight that makes him lose his memory and possibly lose track of the box, so the whole thing gets all messed up and noone knows where jesus has gotten to... but god sends aziraphale a clue (✨✨A cLuE✨✨) to tracking it down, in the shape of the everyday record and the resurrectionist pub address (lmao is jesus in the JUKEBOX???) on a fucking post-it note

or maybe hell had something to do with gabriel losing his memory (shax? idk but that could be the motive for her getting chummy with crowley in the first place) (i promise I'm not hating on shax my beloved but she SCARES me) in an effort to stall the second coming and now they're trying to retrieve and kill goob to forestall it altogether

but what they didnt count on is a smart, fastidious, nosy lil angel boy sticking his oar in and getting there first, and being a good enough person to hide goob in the first place but i disgress

and beelzebub, knowing that there's a retired angel on earth and gabriel might naturally gravitate towards there, infiltrates the bookshop as a wee fly (funny af in the goob clip of him swatting them with books BUT also the fly is like centre placement in beelzebub's character poster... COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT) and feeds this back to shax, so shax gets chummy with the demon that she replaced 👀👀 and tries to get him to turn on aziraphale and pressure him to luring goob out of the shop so hell can get to him, pressing crowley's Jealousy and Possessiveness buttons to her advantage

now idk how i feel about goob getting lost/leaving the shop and aziraphale has to track him down by going to Edinburgh, ill need to ruminate on this more, but crowley saying 'ooooh hell won't like that' and infiltrating (see: strolling blithely into heaven cosplaying bill nighy in love actually) makes me HOPE that he is still fighting the good fight but something is niggling at me as to why he ends up on the throne in hell and NOT in the bookshop when the demon attack is taking place, that makes me think major angst will happen and crowley ends up inadvertently supporting hell in getting goob and preventing the second coming

sigh now i need to go update my episode timeline how the fUCK do i summarise this
