My overall thoughts on the Homestuck pilot news:

(I might sound harsh to some people in this, and to that I apologize. But, this is my personal opinion/take about this news so.. if you guys don't like it.. I'm sorry if I offended you in some way.)

So, Vivzipop's studio's creating a Hometuck animated pilot. Which is a adaptation of the pre-existing webcomic with the same title. And, from what I heard, the pilot's going to be 11 minutes-wait.

11 minutes?!

I'm sorry but, everybody's talking abt how Vivzipop's the executive director and how it's a bad idea to make an adaptation of a webcomic that has its own style of story-telling and all that but.. the first thing that came to mind is that the pilot is going to be 11 minutes long.

I'm confused, like seriously. What can you do with 11 minutes?!!

Maybe, because of the original comic's way of telling its story, it had to be 11 minutes long?? Idk..

But also, although I have never been in the HS fandom, but based off from I've seen on Tumblr, and people talking abt how bad the creator is. I have my doubts that this is going to work.

And on top of that, Vivzie is the executive director.

So... I can see why a lot of people (Haters/critics of Vivzie's work alike) are concerned about this news of a new animated pilot being created. And having Vivzipop being the executive director nonetheless.

But imo, ignoring the controversy surrounding Vivzipop and the webcomic's creator.

I'm kind of excited.

Although I'm no longer a fan of Hazbin Hotel, and Helluva Boss.. because of personal experiences within the fandom and the creator. And it's writing.

I am genuinely curious how the crew's going to pull this off. With 11 minutes nonetheless..

But, overall, the music's great, the animation, especially one part looking like a comic book panale, and its cast! Like they have Toby Fox to voice act as a character in the show, and I'm blown away..

And to those who are saying that "I feel so bad for the female casts for being terribly written!" or the whole "◯◯If it was written by Vivzipop!" joke. (it's so old, stop)

I think people especially haters who don't want HH and HB to be better, and don't have genuine criticism for both HH and HB. Just want to hate on anything that's associated with Vivzipop just 'cause for.. whatever reason.

Are just overreacting.

And, I don't mean it as a insult. But, genuiunely, people are overreacting about how this is going to go. Even before the pilot's out.

Just because, the creator you hate is a executive director of a animated pilot. Doesn't mean the pilot's gonna be bad, persay.

It's not out yet, and since the trailer doesn't have any scenes where there's an overuse of swear words anywhere.. I think the pilot's gonna be decent. Not great, but decent.

And again, I didn't make this to attack fans of Vivzi's, or the HS fandom. I made this because I wanted to express my own opinion about this news. And what I thought about the trailer in general.

If I ever harmed someone then, I am sorry. But, I am excited for the pilot! And I'm seriously curious of how the pilot's gonna look like with just 11 minutes.. I'm both scared, and excited.

Alright, I'm writing Drunken Therapy!

Buuuuuut, here's an issue. I don't like the name or I don't feel like the name I have right now fits what I'm trying to tell. So... here's a poll!

There are a few names I have came up with, so I want you guys to choose which suits best for my insert ocs x Diligence fic.

Just for some context of this fic

Lore:

This is a slow-burn love story about the twins Lux & Zalia, and Diligence in The Gaslight District.

It mostly focuses on what's going on in Paradise Lost, and how the twins had to leave they're home behind to expand their business for the Virtues.

Later, they successfully gain a new audience and provide a sense of relaxation to the virtues in Paradise Lost.

However, someone saw this as "Wasting time" but curiosity got the best of them, and decided to visit the Keeper's Inn by themselves.

And through some witty banter and a few insults/some advice here and' there by the twins, Diligence and the twins start to become close.

And perhaps.. maybe more...?

Couldn't agree more.

I'm honestly glad that Gooseworks didn't decide to go with fanon Pomni, where she's just the "Anxious character" and have her actually become less selfish, and have her feel like a actual person. Which is cool considering the fact that she's fictional but still feels like we're actually watching a real person being stuck in a video game.

Not just Pomni, but the others too. They all feel three dimentional, and aren't flat characters.

One of the reasons I like tadc is 'cause of how real the characters are. Ragatha isn't 100% a good person, she's just as complex as the rest of the cast. So is Jax, Gangle, and Zooble. And Caine and Kinger.

I don't want to state what's already been said but, I just wanted to ramble abt tadc. I might've not drawn a lot of fanart but, I can say this is my all time favorite indie show.

Even if I started to actually like it after episode 3. It just took me a while to get hooked on it that's all.

I hope people don't complain about the fact that Pomni isn't acting how they thought she would

We had three episodes to see that Pomni isn't a wittle innocent ball of anxiety that cries at the slightest opposition and mfs still like "this is out of character for her" and making theories that it's evil pomni when it's just Pomni enjoying herself with an adventure for the first time ever

The face of someone who is having fun. Stressed out store manager who explored abandoned buildings for a mild thrill is getting the most thrill she’s ever had and is enjoying it thoroughly.

Obviously, she’ll probably be adverse to shooting everyone at first, but Jax will likely talk her out of that fear being all “It’s just a game, live a little” or something to that effect

As much as I loved Kpdh, yeah.. I agree👍️

That's why I want a prequel series or movie abt the Saja Boys/ Huntrix.

Like, don't get me wrong, I LOVED the movie flaws and all.. but, I can't deny that the Saja Boys were such wasted potental!

I seriously wouldn't mind anything in the movie IF we got at least ONE scene of the boys arguing or being just as chaotic as the rest of the cast.

Still, seriously LOVED THE MOVIE!!

Glad to have watched it on Netflix👍️

"Side Characters"

First off, this is kind of a rant. No hate intended to the creators or writer. I- like many others- think the Saja Boys (minus Jinu) have a lot of wasted potential.

The writer of KPDH said that they were supposed to be side characters and meant to emphasize how much more human Jinu is or something (don't remember the exact words). Basically, the 4 of them were just there for symbolism.

(Side note: I find it ironic, with the few scenes in the underworld where actual, monstrous-demons are cheering for them. The actual NPCs show more real emotions than them smh)

I usually call these plot-device characters, but they're more like theme-device characters. Both of which I hate in specific scenarios: when the plot device is introduced as a major character with backstory, personality and a lot of potential then pushed under the bus.

I know some people, me included, thought they other 4 Saja Boys were major characters (main antagonists) and got disappointed. It's because they aren't written like side characters. They're made to play a bigger role and be more important to the story, but they don't do much else.

This could've been solved in two ways: have them truly in the background, even in songs/fights etc. Be a little more explicit that they're controlled by Jinu/have no souls of their own or whatever is going on with them.

Or, they could've made them more fleshed out. Nothing crazy. I'm not sure if the movie had a budget or limit, but they're already so overlooked that ONE more scene- with actual conversation between them- could fix it all.

They could've had shown more of that contrasting stage/bts personalities, or clearer backstory and goals, or actual speaking lines away from the public's eye. It would instantly make them more like actual characters and at that point, I really wouldn't mind if they were completely evil.

And personally? I'd prefer the second route. Jinu as he is isn't a bad character, I like him. But I'd trade this extra detail of him being 'more human' than other demons for 4 more real characters even partially living up to their potential. What about the symbolism? They'd still have everything to do with kpop stereotypes they're trying to mimic, so that's already a lot.

TL;DR: The other Saja Boys should've either been completely benched or more important. They're currently in a very awkward position.

And now they're not even coming back in the sequel 😭
