my totally 100% correct opinion on which haikyuu ships would go canon if it were heterosexual

Kagehina: yes. regardless of which of them were a girl. however they would not get together within the canon of the show but have 1 or 2 almost kisses and then after the series ended you'd find out they got married. Like there'd be 2 lines total talking about them getting married and thats it.

Tsukkiyama: yes. regardless of which of them were a girl. they'd be together at the start of the series and be a relatively boring couple basically just there to make weird heteronormative quips (if yamaguchi were the girl, tsukki would roll his eyes a lot at having to go shopping, etc, and if tsukki were the girl, yamaguchi would be way too insecure about other guys looking at her) BUT late in the series there would be a short arc dedicated to them breaking up and then immediately getting back together and I hate to tell you, it would be cute.

Daisuga: my heart and soul - not in any fucking universe. I dont think there would even be jokes or innuendos about it. I think if Suga were the girl there would even be moments of Daichi like straight up not realizing it. "wdym you cant change with us???" bitches are the Pillars of Reliability for Karasuno they wouldnt bother giving them relationships.

Asanoya: if noya were the girl, yes. If Asahi were the girl, no. Noya could be a fiesty little girlfriend but they'd be too chicken to give a short man a big, bashful ladyfriend and that is the ONLY reason they wouldnt be canon.

Iwaoi: sorry to break it to you but probably not. the writers would be pouting and slamming their fists around like "nooooo they see each other like siblings, we wanted to show male-female friendships were possibleeeeee." however I think the chances would be slightly higher if Iwa were the girl. In that annoying tsundere way of "oh she's never going to admit she likes the guy everyone else also likes" but it would probably only be implied, never canon.

Kyohaba: yes! if Yahaba was the girl. Their entire thing would be switched to "kyotani finding a girl who smacks him around and decides to devote himself to her" where Yabaha would pretend she hates it. Less chance if Kyotani were the girl but I suppose not impossible.

Ushiten: Complicated. I think in general if they were male-female their friendship would play a bigger role. But it would be canon if Ushijima were a girl. Only because of the double standard for women. In the same way that all women characters eventually have children even if they claim they dont like them initially, I think the writers would be too chicken to let a woman be mean and formidable and stern and they would have to temper her with her quirky, ecclectic best friend/boyfriend to make sure people understand she's still Woman. They would be canon within the actual text and not just implied/afterwards but it would only be given enough screen time to establish Ushijima as a feminine woman and then be forgotten so Ushijima could proceed to beat the shit out of whatever team they were up against next. However if Tendou were the girl she would 100% have an overt and obvious crush on Ushijima (probably literally saying she was in love with him out loud) BUT they would let Ushijima keep his intensity and it would only serve to make Tendou quirkier and/or played as a joke, it wouldnt be canon.

Arankita: No! Only because if Kita were a girl, Atsukita would be canon. And I think if Aran were a girl, they would be given a much stronger Best Friends energy in that "male-female friendship" way. both a female kita or a female aran would still be "one of the boys."

Bonus: Atsukita: Yes, but only in promotional media or extras, they wouldnt give screen time to it. Like there'd be a bunch of promotional stuff of like Atsumu picking Kita up or teasing her. yknow.

Bokuaka: Yes, obviously, geez. Doesnt matter which is the girl. Thet would already be in a relationship from the time theyre introduced.

Kuroken: Yes, but they wouldnt get together. It would be like a slow burn where they keep looking at each other with flowers in the background, but it would feel like the writers forgot to put them together. Like the series would end and everyone would go "huh. weird we never got a kuroken confession but alright" No kisses, no hand holding, but like 12 extra minutes of gazing at each other and blushing. But only if Kenma was the girl. If Kuroo was the girl they'd be too chicken á la Asanoya and would instead pull an Iwaoi.

Rarepairs as a general rule are a "No" just due to them not being canon for reasons unrelated to gender, however, I want to shoutout these rarepairs:

Kogagoshi: Wouldnt be canon due to not enough screen time, but regardless of who was the girl, Kogane would have been used as a joke developing a spontaneous crush on Goshiki for the camp that is basically just there for comedic relief

Kenhina: regardless of who was the girl this would be an UNBERABLE implied attraction that serves only to create drama between Kagehina. Like nobody who's read love stories with love triangles before would ever think theyd end up together but the writers would try their fucking best to convince you this was plausible over the obviously intended endgame of kageyama.

guys wait modern muggle au prongsfoot fic idea . james potter born & raised in india has his parents die when he's fourteen and he's sent to live with his father's brother, charlus potter, who fleamont didn't have a close relationship with and so james is distant from charlus and dorea. he's moved from india to england where he doesn't know anyone barely a week after his parents funeral and is completely isolated from his friends. he starts acting out and at first it's excused but once he restarts school it becomes worse. he yells at teachers, he gets in fights daily, he yells at his aunt and uncle, he's out late at night. it goes on for maybe two or three months before he gets in a massive fight. it's barely a fight, more of a brutal beatdown, james doing the beating. police get involved, james is starting to realize he may need to control his emotions, his uncle and aunt are more disappointed than mad (it's worse) (it's familiar) and he serves a shortened juvie sentence of two weeks.

enter sirius black. he's james' roommate and james' first look at him is sirius getting (quite roughly) handled by a few guards for something he said or did and james' first thought is oh he's cool and they kind of hit it off instantly when sirius tells james he was getting hurt restrained for switching out a guard's lunch for something he was allergic to + adding a divorce letter from his wife which included details on how she wanted to fuck guard's brother instead. james is like. oh my god, he is so cool. they share life stories in, like, two days of knowing each other. sirius is pretty closed off from james, who spills out words without a thought, but james gathers something about running away from home, and he knows sirius is here for a variety of different things and has been here a while.

once james leaves, he's aching to meet sirius again. he needs it, so he does good in a handful of tests and smiles at his teachers and begs his uncle for permission and he can visit for forty-five minutes a week.

sirius is in for gta, drug possession, aggravated assault and numerous accounts of hacking and/or identity theft. he ran away a bit younger, here, maybe around fourteen so like same as when james' life went downhill. he was homeless, got into shady shit and shady people. once he's released his biggest worry is that - housing, getting back into that shit. obviously, james thinks its very obvious that theyre going to live together. also !! james has bpd, it's diagnosed and its partly the reason his sentence is reduced. sirius has bipolar type 2, depression, substance abuse issues, ptsd & struggles w derealization. something something sirius feeling very out of it because when he gets out james is going to college and sirius literally has no one so he just... tags along. as in he moves in the apartment near the big fancy smart kid college james is undoubtedly going to and sirius just. feels stupid. hes not used to feeling stupid. he feels left behind and hes realizing how everyone his age is very ahead of him where as he's been basically dissociating for two years. then yk ofc james forces him to enroll in courses and sirius does great and they live happily ever after

🧸Sally: jeff treats sally a lot better than the rest of the pastas. shes basically jeff's younger sister; they have movie nights together every weekend and they also play a lot of dress-up and hide and go seek. sally also likes to force jeff to let her give him makeovers. jeff is like a different person around her, its nice to see him be silly every once and a while

🍬LJ: jeff annoys the absolute shit out of this man. hes like the authority figure that jeff likes to disobey just to be annoying. he roasts the absolute shit out of him for being a clown and pulls pranks on him constantly but always hides before LJ can beat the living shit out of him. jeff is like 2 whole feet shorter than him but hes somehow not scared of him. i won't get into All of the details (since ideally i rly wanna write a fic with some important vignettes in their shared background!!) but here's the main gist of it 💚🧡 oh god it got long sorry. putting it under the cut <3

They formally met/befriended each other back when yugo was about 7 and dennis about 8ish--yugo was SUPPOSED to stay locked up in his dorm (this being after Leo Akaba tried to drown him/it didnt work/now Leo's a little bit scared of this baby zarc shard so he must be kept under close lock and key) but he's rambunctious and more clever than people give him credit for so he would frequently get out and go wander off into some of the more secluded campus courtyards to play outside. Dennis ALSO had a penchant for curiosity and sneaking around to explore, so of course at some point their paths were going to cross <3

they ended up becoming friends (yugo's first friend that wasnt his duel spirits ;___;) and played a lot of... like. Duel Monsters But Also Just Making Rules Up and Using the Cards As Toys. Playing Pretend. They kept meeting up and playing together off and on for probably around 8 months before some teacher finally caught on and yugo's got Contained once more :(

(faculty did take note of how very good at being stealthy young Dennis was, though, and perhaps fast tracked him a little to becoming a proper Duel Academy spy)

Anyway so the two kind of fell out of contact for like 6ish years. Peak "i met my new best friend at the beach one summer and then never saw them again" but theyre both still just on the same school campus being walled off into their respective education upbringings

Flash forward to when Yugo's like 12-13ish and Dennis is 14-15ish--I ended up cooking this sort of dswap specific Academy Training Drill that involves students having to duel each other in the middle of raging sleet and snowstorms to train for raging war in severe weather (and for the chance at exemplary mark on their records, if they can successfully beat the Wild Yugo Left to Wander the Duel Field.) Dennis and Yugo encounter each other and have a pretty vicious duel that ends in Yugo forcing a tie; technically a tie goes to Yugo and he'd get the card the challenger, but instead he lets Dennis mark it as a win, and i dont think either of them can fully comprehend as to why <3 (haha! they are fundamentally broken and cannot process acts of kindness and generosity anymore! 🥲)

And then they fall out of contact again cuz Dennis is getting swooped up in his mentorship going to shit and then him being assigned to Synchro to go keep an eye on/assassinate the zarc counterpart of that dimension (and then well he did a bunch of other stuff instead. 💜) Meanwhile Yugo's still being kept in his little box and only let out to be a campus hunting game boogeyman and frankly it's making him start to go stir crazy. there is NOT enough enrichment in his enclosure and he is going to act out!!!

ANYWAY. WELL THEN DIMENSIONSWAP ARC-V HAPPENS and yugo and dennis don't cross paths (literally) until the 'Fusion' arc when the Lancers descend upon DA to deal with all of that. So then you got Dennis, in the wake of his Synchro mission ALSO going to shit, now on assignment from the Professor himself to take Yuto out of the picture by any means necessary and getting a Little Fucking Unwell, and then also meanwhile you got Yugo, who is Not staying in his dorm rn... he wants in on the action he wants to see whats going on, and maybe have a little fun too <3 So they cross paths roaming the halls of Duel Academy and the vibe is. Weird. friends who havent seen each other in a while and have both changed a lot. Yugo takes issue with Dennis's assignment to kill Yuto (and the other two yuboys by extension) cuz A.) well those guys are him too right? what the fuck. not cool >:( but also B.) he kind of doubts Dennis can win against someone (presumably) as strong as Yugo himself. Dennis is not happy with either of that conclusion

So the two of them end up dueling in the middle of a DA hallway, in the tried and true arc-v fashion yugo does end up winning pretty Decisively 🥴 he still can't bring himself to card Dennis though, and effectively just ends up warning him "hey if you duel those other mes I dunno if you're gonna get what you want outta it" which just ends up pissing Dennis off more but oh well !!!

(Dennis loses to Yuto) (technically he loses to Yuya dueling through Yuto's body) (he still cards himself because Of Course He Does)

and then after all of that, in the wild wild west of Dimensionswap AU "Post-Canon," Yugo and Dennis reconnect and bond more over really being DA's strongest soldiers and last vestiges of the Fusion dimension's destructive warpath; they don't know how to live and operate with 'normal' people. they arent particularly sorry for what they did. and no one seems to know what to do with them. So they just meet up and play games together like when they were kids except now they also have this sort of transactional element of their friendship where they're beating the crap out of each other Fight Club style (for Yugo it's just roughhousing and having fun!!! and maybe also venting out some frustrations about the world he must live in now!!) (for Dennis it's his fifth dimensional chess 'God won't let me die i need to be punished for existing' self-loathing spiral and also maybe he's have fun too <3) (theyre both Not Doing Great thanks for asking :,) )

also dennis and yuri's relationship is also a bit of a tire fire during this period THERE'S A LOT. GOING ON.

ANYWAY TL;DR fusion!yugo and dennis have known each other since they were small and have a complicated dynamic that masks what may actually be a pretty deep bond that neither of them has the emotional literacy to filly comprehend. i like them SO much 🍌🐩

My favorite Mel moments are when he is using his silly goofy little guy façade and suddenly has to drop it. What was their "flirting stage" like?

For Ripley and Gabe it starts like basically the minute they meet and I love that for them lmaooo, like just immediately constantly complimenting each other and making cheesy flirty jokes and stuff. Ripley is always rly uhh chivalrous, I guess, with girls she likes and it's a form of flirting for her lol. They already have their first date after knowing each other for 2 days 💀 (nothing big tho, they just drove around town but they called it a Date (also their timeline is different from the book)) so like it takes that short for them to straight up just admit like yea I'm very into u and I'd like to see where this goes hahaha 😭😭. It's super unusual for Ripley to be so at ease with someone so fast tho, there's just something about Gabe..

For Ripley and Cas it starts at the party in the woods, though it's not super genuine from either side. I think when Ripley goes into the woods with him after the autumn festival meeting that's where things start to change, tho there's still this weird hostility in the air. Or Ripley implying she'd hurt him and him acting like he'd enjoy that lmao 😭 and that making her feel some type of way lol. Ripley also kinda has the tendency to hint like I like Gabe more so if u want to have a chance u gotta work harder. Which is so shitty of her but she doesn't exactly give a shit about hurting the feelings of the guy who mauled someone right in front of her a few weeks ago lol. I think she just half still thinks theyre both just kidding cuz Cas doesn't seem to think too highly of humans? After the autumn festival is when things rly change and Ripley has her realisation that Cas actually cares a lot about her and also that she's bi and she does like him like That (EWWW) and she kinda just nonverbally shows this to him by giving him a kiss on the cheek when he drops her off. And from there on the lines start getting more blurred.

So like I hc that Cas and Gabe were a couple when they were still human a few decades ago, iirc they're 17 when they get together?? For a while they're just friends, they meet due to being paired for a project at school and keep hanging out after that because they enjoy each others company. I think they slowly fell for each other and Gabriela just starts slowly Hinting at him that she thinks he's cute and stuff, just to see how he reacts and eventually feels confident enough to just confess to him.

And in the present I think as they start getting along again, sometimes they already flirt a bit with each other and as time goes on these moments increase + get less and less subtle (especially once Ripley starts doing this whole 'inviting u guys on dates and not showing up so ur stuck together-thing) I think Gabe is once again definitely more forward.

Ripley and Cas and getting bullied rly bad, even down to getting beat up and shaming themselves over that bc they think it makes them 'weak'.

Ripley and Cas' first hunt and killing someone and having Feelings about it though they handle it differently (Ripley is shaken up and hates herself for it, while Cas forces himself into just embracing it. Ignoring feelings of guilt, leaning into the vampires that encourage him and pushing away his humanity even more, rly the start of no longer seeing himself as human).

Ripley and Cas also have v similar taste in clothing and aesthetics and stuff obviously hahah.

Ripley and Gabe and their feelings about no longer being human, being turned against their will, their feelings about not getting to grow up, never getting to be mothers etc.

I feel like none of them really prefer one or the other more, I do think Cas Needs verbal affection more because he kinda needs that as reassurance sometimes or something?

I think vampires probably don't really get married, but they probably have their own version of it. I think some probably do anyway but I think it's rare?

I think for years Ripley feels weird as hell about the idea of marriage because she just always feels like a 19 year old 'and that's a thing of the future', like she couldn't picture herself having a wedding right now. I think it's something she's a bit bummed about but it's not her biggest gripe with vampirism.

I do think Gabriela is the kinda person who'd have wanted a big wedding with all her friends and family, on a beautiful location, with a big cake and a beautiful dress.. And is definitely upset that isn't in the cards anymore. Tho I think it kinda helps to know that the 3 of them couldn't have gotten married even if they were human cause only 2 people can legally marry each other anyway.

But like I do think it's a thing that comes up a lot when they fantasize about what could've been. So despite her own feelings eventually Ripley takes them to a nice spot and proposes to both Cas and Gabe with rings similar to those pendants she got at the end of book 1. Except the gems are still missing because I imagine instead of containing a gem with her blood only, those would contain a gem with everyone's blood in it.

And they plan out a private ceremony, just between the 3 of them where they all say their vows and everyone's dressed up (Gabe gets her wedding dress lol). It's not what she always imagined but I think it still brings her some peace, in a way it's just make special because they just do their own thing and make it work.

Like it's not a wedding but its like the same idea with just celebrating what they have, how far they've come and showing each other they all belong to each other.

The whole name changing thing isn't really applicable because they all change their names every few decades anyway hahaha. I do think they might keep going by their og names in private tho. I think early on Ripley often thought and paired up her name with theirs and came to the conclusion that Ripley Reese just sounds better than Ripley Harlow or whatever anyway.

look, not to be a fucking shipper about it, but i don't know why they have this thing where janeway and chakotay both are and aren't in a romantic relationship and then every once in awhile have him run off with a lady. like, he has this big scene with her about mark and it's romantic but then he's also doing this? and then he also ends up with seven?? it's very like. will and deanna in tng but their situation was more clear-cut - they're exes who enjoy each other's company and they always ask before dating someone else or whatever. this is so weird. this whole thing is weird. voyager would be so good if it could just get its act together

i feel kind of bad for this lady, or i would if i cared, which i largely felt unable to do, because we shit talked her the whole episode. "yes captain give her access to this, to that." we were SO SURE this was another case of chakotay's horrible character judgment that we were waiting for her to stab him in the back the entire time

if at the end he forgets her and she forgets him what was the point? was it supposed to be poignant? because of the shipweirdness and the suspicion of her character i just couldn't get invested. it is a nice touch that he recorded it on paper though i guess

i did like that he respected her wishes re: would she let a prophet jump her bones to fight a big armageddon battle. too bad he didn't do that in his way. i liked his talk with worf about it too :( they love their women :(

i liked the end of this one but i think the middle really dragged. like we GET it creepy sult ship bad

it was insane how all these people were BABIES. they were so fucking young. and the bad vibes were bad right awayliterally what kind of fucking stanford prison experiment ass episode

although actually, it kinda reminded me of the plot of aos. everybody's at war, the senior officer dies, a bunch of people way too young to be doing those jobs get those jobs. so no one can say aos doesn't have precedent, but the people in aos LOOKED way older than these kids. also possibly maybe it is more realistic if the entire aos crew just gets themselves blown up

unfortunately this episode kinda highlights a problem i've been having with late seasons jakes, which is that now that he's grown up and no longer a cute kid or a teenager coming of age he has almost nothing to do. he's a reporter and sometimes? a fiction writer? but the problem with writers is that they write writers characters as some of the most pretentious assholes on earth. waiting for divine inspiration or some shit. like jake sisko is not chuck shurley. give me a fucking break. THAT SAID, the reporter thing could be interesting - think of how, even today, honest journalism when trying to report on wartime activities, especially war crimes, comes under fire - that could make for some compelling tv, especially because jake's dad is mr take-no-shit himself. they could give jake some substance to really work with if they wanted to. unfortunately most of the time he seems to be just There. rip.

THIS ONE WAS SAAAAD this one made me cry really hard at the end :(

i mean the ending kind of rendered the whole episode pointless (we can't do that because we'd be erasing this molly! and then this molly accidentally erases herself) but it was well-acted enough that i mostly didn't care

also, absolutely charmed at teen molly hoarding the kickballs. we were cracking up during that entire scene. i wanted her to keep taking them sooo bad.

that said, the b plot of this was absolutely fantastic. quark trying to interfere with odo and kira's love life in order to do nefarious things: a+. e quark. odo LETTING HIM GET AWAY WITH IT AS A THANKS FOR LISTENING TO HIM WHEN HE WAS MOONING OVER KIRA AND THEN HELPING THEM GET TOGETHER. ALSO A+. E QUARK. e quark is alive and well in my mind palace. i still hate the way odo and kira got together, but they felt totally natural in this episode, especially at the end when they watched quark think he won. 10000/10

okay, as previously listed, we got as far as the credits before tapping out. watching quark sextort that employee of his really brought me back to season 3 when i hated him genuinely and unironically and i did not enjoy that feeling. that's not his heart. it's character assassination

potentially the concept of capitalists finding out women also spend money is funny but nearly everything else about this episode was excruciating. the nagus sexually harassing leeta. the nagus being a dick to nog. the sexism from quark which is so tired.

i did kind of enjoy the gay/crossdressing stuff at the end ESPECIALLY the gay kiss because it was shocking and fun, but it wasn't enough to save the rest of the episode, and bordered right on either being trans positive for trans inclusive ("woman enough for me!" could easily be interpreted either way, for example, but i was not inclined to give this episode the benefit of the doubt.) i do think it was really he fucked that guy and then wound up mooning over him, but then they ruined the joke by saying it was his female hormones. i guess he got top and bottom surgery That Fast? absolutely crazy how easy that is in the 2300s.

its a silly unpowered au.bc please god i want them to be happys..So basically most of these guys have been on and off meeting at like. Yknow those summer activity club things where during the summer theres trips and weekly if not daily events.YEAH SO IT STARTS WITH THAT Nothing big. for some its just to burn off excess energy during summer time (dakota), for others it was to get familiar with new environments after moving (vyncent and Eventually ashe), and for others its just to get them Out of the house and Out of the Scary woods (ud never guess: william) and its very focused on skating and all that Right right.

And like the thing is mainly focused towards kids so at some point they stop going But the silly thing about it is that that happens around end of middleschool start of highschool. oh my fucking god i LOVE zenix and laurance my beloved rebellion boys. here it comes.

Laurance already knew plenty about zenix. they meet formally for the first time right after laurance leaves into the nether at the season 2 finale. 'formally' as in zenix mistakes laurance for a stray from gene's fleet and tries to pummel him-- then zenix is pleasantly surprised to discover laurance is the first guy to actually put up a decent against him in years and he finds room to respect laur for that.

zenix doesn't know jackshit or care about laurance and keeps brushing him off as some rando, until laur mentions aphmau and garroth, who he shares a soft spot for (as much as he refuses to admit it.)

They begrudgingly team up because they have almost the same end goals. Laurance wants to slay the shadow lord and free all the souls and save aphmau, Zenix wants to slay the shadow lord and take his place as ruler of the nether. zenix genuinely believes he's stronger than shad and deserves to be king. laurance doesnt believe the last part lol. at least they both want that guy dead. cant pick and choose ur allies in nether, i guess.

the rebellion was actually vylad's idea to zenix, create an organization in order to take down their common enemy. zenix always wanted a fleet to lead and control and treat him like a king. vylad has to convince zenix that he has to actually act like a decent leader. He kinda ruled a group through fear for a while until laurance came along and managed to strike a deal with him involving a Lot of convincing but it worked. (vylad is so relieved)

the rebellion has around 20-40 members in their organization (tiny compared to how massive shad's army is). laurance is the planner, vylad is the recruiter, zenix is the fire power.

laurance feels a little guilty sometimes for promising to kill zenix that one time in s1 but then zenix pisses him off somehow and laur takes it back

zenix is very big-brother-like and loves teasing n bullying laurance. he finds it hilarious that laurance timeskipped 15 years because now that means zenix is older and now he gets eldest privileges. laurance isnt exactly thrilled about zenix and his utter lack of empathy on his situation.

theyre p much begrudgingly best friends thru circumstance. though laurance slowly eases and opens up over time and gets more comfortable joking around like his old self. zenix also eases up over time and shows respect and trust, he's very much swayed by praise and acts of kindness and gets kinda clingy 'n over enthusiastic. laurance only realizes how much zenix has opened up to him when zenix vents about missing phoenix drop and garroth n aphmau for the first time.

they're about equally matched in strength. Zenix is more powerful with raw strength, but laurance has professional training and is a lot smarter. their fights kinda end up like wrangling a bull.

they bicker and banter constantlyyyyyyy. vylad has to keep them from killing each other sometimes.

despite the banter and fighting and disagreements, they absolutely team up together to lovingly beat the shit out of gene. its almost comical how much they like tormenting gene and pissing shad off.

laurance/zenix are extremely powerful when they can actually manage to be on the same page and work together

it took years for vylad to help zenix overcome his shadow knight bloodlust, (funnily another ro'meave that never gave up on zenix.) zenix now has relatively good control of himself, about on the same level as laurance.

there may or may not be some stupid background love triangle shit going on w laurance and vylad and zenix. lonely clingy bastards love vylad

okay. its actually over. it feels weird to say but i have indeed completed homestuck yet again. this time was maybe my favorite reading of it other than probably the first time. maybe it was cause of the blogging it? i did genuinely love blogging my thoughts about it. even if no one is paying too much attention, its cool to get it out there :D

overall thoughts? the first part is a little slow to get going, but once it does get going, it's so fun and just a blast to read. things are incredible up until right after cascade where it slows down a lot. which i get. introducing a ton of new characters and essentially a new main villain into the plot can be a lot. i would say that the first half of act 6 is like... a definite decrease in quality? but it starts picking up again when they actually arrive in the new session. and me personally, ive always loved the ending. i know some people were like oh they just win and their plan goes smoothly. like, yeah i get that, but also things did NOT go smoothly when game over happened, and that was definitely the everything goes wrong moment. everything after that is cool and fun and very entertaining to read. i just love this story guys i love it so much there is a reason why it is my favorite piece of fiction and why i constantly come back to it . it is just so good i love the characters i love the concepts the plot is sprawling and self referential and just plain cool . of course it has flaws, namely its villains are a little weak. sometimes i love villains who are just plain evil but sometimes in a story like this i may have preferred a villain who has a little more motive than just being evil and wanting to destroy and kill things... but its alright. the heroes were the main focus anyway, so its not like it ruins the story or anything. i think homestuck goes from an ironic shit post story that makes you feel like an ass for reading it to a heartfelt tale of empathy and self improvement and self actualization. its characters go from asshole kids to pretty good adults. and you can see the writing grow up too. its honestly great and if you know me you probably already know lots of bits and pieces about it and/or i made you read it. but if you dont you should give it a shot. it has NOT aged well i will say but if you can manage to ignore the usage of slurs and probably other bad things i can honestly say it ends as a story about growth and acceptance of the self and others. that is all.......
